Gale Reviews: ML Season 5 episode 11 Deflagration

(Spoilers below)

-So continuing from episode before with Scarabella and Kitty noir answering an interview explaning that the heroes needed to step down cause Monarch... okay.

-That reporter is right

-Oh damn Kitty noire can flirt. I still hate that lipstick look. The lighting looks so weird.

-Adrien seems down, I think he misses Plagg. But he also looks like he wants to call Marinette. Hard to say whats going on in his mind

-Tikki misses marinette. Alya thought she messed up with the interview

-But looks like Marinette can visit Tikki at least.

-"Did we miss an episode?" As someone that watches ML that is offensive. We get our episodes out of order dont complain ... lol

-So we actually get to look at Alya's room and girl has a LOT of manga and comics. Respect. BUT WHERE ARE THE PICS OF NINO?! hardly any. I only saw one in the group photo.

-Oh Alya, you missed more than you think

-Marinette checking to ensure alya knows the rules but, Alya assures her that this is not her issue anymore. She can focus on her.

-Meanwhile Plagg telling Zoe she is only lacking in the chees department

-I have a feeling this episode is going to determine if I start Liking Zoe or not

-So they have anti-akuma measures. Gotta say, thats kind of cute

-I know he says paintball guns. But I was kind of hopping Alya, Nino, marinette and Adrien would get real guns and cap an akuma

-HE WAS THERE THE WHOLE TIME?! Dude! He could have just ended it there! are you stupid MONARCH?!

-Okay I know its not 100% and he needs to confirm its them. But like. He could have just stunned them. Checked them for earrings and rings. Then left.

-Okay Adrien you f***ing dweeb. I love it. He got a little make shift table for two with a bowl of fruit and a rose. BOY GOES HARD. ITS SO CRINGE AND SWEET.

-With supportive friends. They are really middle school

-Chloé doesnt know what Generous means, and her alliance doesnt understand . So she tells her sabrina... which tells her alliance. I fucking cant....

-Marinette is trying so hard

-Adrien doesnt get that this girl is trying to grab what she has wanted for 5 seasons

-And there we go, progress was made. Thanks to Chloé interestingly enough

-And I forgot monarch was there just watching everything.

-Side note, Sole destroyer lOOKS WAY more menacing than the previous one

-HE GOT TIKKI AND ALYA!!!

-so thats what random tikki power looks like when just casting lucky charm

-YO!!! PLAGG BROKE HIS MIRACULOUS! THATS F***ING CRAZY. Plagg may be a cat, but he is clearly the GOAT

-Plagg really just said (Screw the rules I am not playing) And knew the lucky charm would be the way of fixing it

-Things are getting created and destroyed like crazy! damn

-Marinette went right back to Ladybug mode

-Wait... does the lucky charm have a time limit if Tikki made it?

-So the miraculous are the tether to the human world. Wait... then how were the kwami around traveling in space before they existed.

-Marinette showed up in her own designed version of it. And I will say it. Aside from the helmet. It slaps

-UGH Monarch bug.... the darker mask is cool and the red eyes... but the spots are such a NO!

-Yoo, that throw should have broke Marinette's back. IT CRACKED CONCRETE!

-NINO FOR THE SAVE

-THE PAINT BALLS! The resistance is actually useful

-WAIT... THEY CAPTURED SOLE DESTROYER?! HOW DID THEY EVEN?! You know what? Respect.

-He deakumatized her.

-COMRADE MAYO FOR THE COUP DE GRACE!!!

-STONE COLD! ADRIEN TAKES THE LADYBUG MIRACULOUS! WE STAN MAYO

-Ladybug fixed everything then before Monarch can be glad the cat ring was back. Marinette snatches the ring... but not the rest cause he had too many rings

-Welp, Monarch failed bad. Covered in paint and now on the back foot.

-Chloé is just there tied up

-So they get their miraculous back cause they realize Monarch doesnt know them so

-Plagg wants to say good bye to kitty noire first before returning to adrien

-Poor zoe, But glad Plagg told her to stand up for herself. Glad some positives were in that

-And some platonic ladynoir at the end

I only know taylor swift as someone who sucks ass at writing lyrics, what are the banger lyrics im missing??

lmao i totally get that. I think it will always be a bit of a personal preference thing, just like some ppl love some writing styles which others cant stand, same with lyrics.

I personally love the lyric writing that tells a good story i can see in my head, and the song creates an atmosphere which you can touch and even smell. I think Taylor's strength is in her storytelling, which shines through especially in folklore and evermore. I personally love "seven" ("Please picture me/In the weeds/Before I learned civility/I used to scream ferociously"), august ("To live for the hope of it all/Cancel plans just in case you'd call"), peace ("Would it be enough if I could never give you peace?"), "illicit affairs" ("Leave the perfume on the shelf/That you picked out just for him/So you leave no trace behind/Like you don't even exist"), "champagne problems" ("Sometimes you just don't know the answer/'Til someone's on their knees and asks you"), "cowboy like me" ("Perched in the dark/Telling all the rich folks anything they wanna hear/Like it could be love/I could be the way forward/Only if they pay for it"), "'tis the damn season" ("We could call it even/You could call me babe for the weekend/'Tis the damn season, write this down/I'm stayin' at my parents' house/And the road not taken looks real good now"), "ivy" ("Oh, goddamn/My pain fits in the palm of your freezing hand/Taking mine, but it's been promised to another/Oh, I can't/Stop you putting roots in my dreamland/My house of stone, your ivy grows/And now I'm covered in you").

Now every album she releases has its misses and its hits. I don't love "Lover" that much bc it's a bit too happy poppy for me, though the song "Lover" itself tells a very palpable feeling. Other songs I like are "All Too Well" ("And you call me up again just to break me like a promise/So casually cruel in the name of being honest"), "Dear John" ("Long were the nights when/My days once revolved around you/Counting my footsteps/Praying the floor won't fall through again"), "Back to December" ("It turns out freedom ain't nothin' but missin' you/Wishin' I'd realized what I had when you were mine"), "The Story of Us" ("I'd tell you I miss you, but I don't know how/I never heard silence quite this loud"), "Clean" ("Ten months sober, I must admit/Just because you're clean don't mean you don't miss it"), "Begin Again" ("And you throw your head back laughing like a little kid/I think it's strange that you think I'm funny 'cause he never did"), "Don't Blame Me" ("Don't blame me, love made me crazy/If it doesn't, you ain't doin' it right/Lord, save me, my drug is my baby/I'll be usin' for the rest of my life"), "Delicate" ("We can't make any promises/Now can we, babe?/But you can make me a drink").

Now many people have been dissing the latest album's cringey lyrics for a while, and while I hate them too (god the vigilante one is such a skip its unreal), i actually like some songs with cringey lyrics. "Anti-hero" really grew on me bc it's Taylor self-analising and talking about how she is her own worst critic, which is something we all experience, and I think she made it in a fun self-deprecating way in the song that still delivers the message. other songs in the album which i love and dont have those kinds of cringe lines are "you're on your own, kid" ("'Cause there were pages turned with the bridges burned/Everything you lose is a step you take"), "Lavander Haze" ("The only kind of girl they see (only kind of girl they see)/Is a one-night or a wife"), "High Infidelity" ("Do you really want to know where I was April 29th?/Do I really have to chart the constellations in his eyes?"), "Would've, Could've, Should've" ("If I was some paint, did it splatter/On a promising grown man?/And if I was a child, did it matter/If you got to wash your hands?") (tbh I love all the lyrics in this song it's my fave atm).

Sorry for the long post! I really feel like Taylor's best lyrics are hidden away in her albums many times, but I do get how she gets called a good lyricist, because she is good at telling stories in them. I believe many people look at her stuff from a biased perspective most of the time bc of the way the media has portrayed her in part, and also bc she got a lot of hate from misogynists when she was young and it stayed around as mindless hate/disregard. She isnt the greatest ever but she's earned her reputation as a lyricist imo.

okay so to be clear i’m NOT dissing people who enjoy this dynamic, like what you like you don’t need my permission, and i totally understand that there will be fanon interpretations of characters that diverge from canon in like every big fandom (AND that fandoms kinda default to describing platonic relationships as familial pretty often but that’s a whole other thing,) however I’m kinda surprised of how much I see the whole parental Bucciarati thing specifically applied to Giorno?? Like i get where it comes from in general, with him taking in people and helping them as their intro to the group e.g. Narancia and Mista (although I would personally call that more of a hero role or possibly big brother more than parent) but like,, that didn’t happen with Gio. If anything, Giorno more saved Bucciarati than the other way around, and his introduction to the group reads less like they’re taking him in like the others and more like Bucciarati going “hey check out this guy isn’t he cool? i think he’s pretty neat he even reset my morals what a guy!” Just, if the catalyst for the parental reading is Bruno saving people, and Giorno is already saved when he meets him, it doesn’t quite connect for me to the whole “wow he is so clearly a 20 year old foster parent and Giorno is his son!” thing that I see pretty often. Just to repeat this, I DONT HAVE AN ISSUE WITH THE CONCEPT, i even think it’s fun sometimes! I just don’t quite get it because to me they’ve always just kinda seemed like comrades/friends who share values particularly strongly, plain and simple.

Once again, i pregame and think I’ll stay UTR but the game starts and i get impatient and just want to do something. so i volunteered for the summit/hero challenge. And my arch nemesis Ava is there too....

Today was a quiet day. Nothing major happened. I was so happy that my tribe won the challenge and the plan with my alliance worked. Clefford has really come through and I now trust him. Looks like me, MJ and Clefford are my ride or die in this game. I am also making very interesting connections with Jinx and Ava. These are that at a human level. We have not even spoken about the game yet in our one on ones. It's just very exciting.

I confess, the relief at not having tribal tonight, is palpable. I almost got 'tripp'ed up but plans have not been derailed. However, they have changed a little bit. I was trying to save Tony and i dont know why. He dissed me, so ok Tony, dont come looking for my help later.... these boys dont wanna play with me... their loss...im used to being underestimated. Thats one of my superpowers, so im throwing my hat in the ring like a boomerang baby

I am writing a confessional early because waiting for the challenge result is making me nervous, and there is nothing I can do about it. So MJ is trying to form an alliance with me and Navi which I am actually really excited about. We all came from different tribes and have different time zones. So yaaaaay! This is actually makes me excited to merge. Hopefully the 3 of us makes it to merge. Speaking of merge, I still have to put myself in a good position within our tribe for me to Survive. And honestly, I have no idea what's going on with our tribe. I have a good talk with all of my tribemates but that is all I got. I don't know who is close with who. I hope Adeline trust me enough to keep me. I feel like I could work with Dj and even with Jinx and Dominique. But my main priority for now is try to work with Adeline, so I can connect to Ava and Els at merge as well. Idk, I am just hoping we will be safe again. I don't want to go to tribal council. Waking up to a new day after the first Tribal was CANCELLED. Boyyy did we get so lucky! Especially me being that I actually missed Tribal. I would've gotten my first strike had it not been for Brandon being booted. Going forward I really have to be on top of things!

Yayyy! I eventually created an alliance with Navi and Ariel and we now have an alliance chat. I’m still on the look out but they seem sweet. Hopefully we all make it to the merge cos that’s the whole essence 😂

Been way too tired to make video confs. But basically i volunteered for the summit. Ava was there 😡 nemesis. And then we all started the challenge and all couldn’t do it. So we negotiated for a bit and decided to go with rock paper scissors between the three of us. Ava won first, i won’t second, tony last. And we bribe the hosts so that they would tell our tribe that we gave up on the actual challenge LOL. Gave my coins to jinx and els

Hahahaha I probably the happiest girl in “Fiji” right now 🤣😂😅🤣 my tribe won immunity again! Whoop whoop! We’re giving the “Taku vibes” from survivor US season 42. Ava is really a useful tribe member and they’ve proven that twice. They also gave me a coin which means they trust me enough or like me at least. Everyone in my tribe says we should keep winning till merge! Yes I wish so too but I can’t stop thinking , what if we find our selves at tribal pre-merge. I don’t want that to catch us unaware so right now , I’m trying to make the best possible safest and wisest alliances ever. I’ll make Ava a very good friend but not an obvious ally except if they propose it. I think I’m just still trying to wrap my head round a-lot of things which is okay. Lastly, I need to check up on my one world ally (Navi) and make sure she isn’t gonna home. Ariel and I need her. That’s all for today. I slept of twice typing this. LOL

I am kinda bummed out that we lost the challenge and going back to tribal council to vote someone off. While i think our orig plan - with 2 variables will hold, and neither involves me, anxiety, never far away, IS nibbling at my fringes.... the member that lost the challenge would not engage in a alliance with lil 'old' me the day before and now its too late as ive solidified a connection in an interesting way.... tsk tsk... im glad i understood the assignment ahead of time, as in.... if you accept the challenge and fail, you gotta start dog paddling... now had that member been willing to form an alliance, Id be trying to save his arse... instead now i may be helping to orchestrate his virtual demise mwa ha ha ha ha

Alright so it turns out we didn’t have to go to tribal for the first round… But then we still lost and we’re gonna lose a person regardless this round (yay…) So much for making the most of an opportunity, eh? Well I reached out to Els since they’re the person I trust the most at this point. They asked what I thought about the vote, I pitched Tony since he was one of the targets last round. I’m not super married to the plan, and I let them know that I’m will to hear out any ideas they have. They haven’t responded back yet. Everyone else has been radio silent except for Tony. We’re just talking about Canada lol. This vote is gonna be tough to coordinate on my end since I’m gonna be busy tomorrow (yay work 🙃), so hopefully we can get a plan going and get the pieces in place before I get really busy. But knowing my luck it’s going to be the most arduous process of all time 😭 Oh also, I’m now officially in an alliance with MJ and Ariel. I’ll try to update if anything major happens.

Adeline and Jinx, both did not give me any coins. So that sucks. It means I am definitely not on their good graces, which I don't really know why? Is this about the time zone thing again? Is this about my past gameplay? Cause that sucks if it is. Anyway, there's nothing I can do about it. I guess I am just here waiting for my slaughter day. Erst, swap when??? Bye!

Adeline got us safety! That is a relief, but I am a little worried about how difficult the second challenge was! The difficulty level went up so drastically from the first round to the second round. I need to work more on my social game if the challenges are going to get more difficult like that.

I can now say that the game has really started. I am that kind of person who is organized and want to see things my way or atleast have a control of it. I tried my best to control where coins would go. I had to give 4 coins to Els to prove my alliance with her and 3-3 for me and Jinx. I distributed m coins to MJ and Zukiswa, which both are in alliance, and to Ava since they got the highest score on our first challenge. As the second round started, Ava volunteered to be our Hero in the next challenge. We were all curious on how it will go. They also represented our Tribe at the Summit. When the challenge results been released, I was so proud of Ava for being the number one in the challenge and managed to secure our back-to-back immunity challenge wins. They are so great! BUT, I didn't received any Summit coin from her. I was so confused, because she should've reciprocated my gesture by giving her coin when I gone to The Summit. I felt like I lost control at that moment. I only got 5 coins for these rounds. I got scared of my position in my tribe, even though I'm in alliance with MJ and Zukiswa. I spend all of my coins at the Merchant's Emporium and got an Extortion Advantage where I can extort coins from someone. They must give it to be before tribal or else, they'll lose their vote on Tribal Council. I was so happy, because it was well spent! Now, I'm making observations on who have the most coins, so I can use this advantage.

the story around my dad's signed spawn issue is always very funny bc see as i've mentioned may times my dad was a big in general collector and he was a big comic collector. he had multiple longboxes of comics. when he was a younger man he had stored them at my no good piece of shit hope he rots in hell uncle's place. but they became estanged for a time. and my shitbag uncle sold off a bunch of my dad's comics without asking. however. one of the surviving boxes had my dad's signed issue in there. and my dad always got a good laugh out of that. however i wish so bad i knew what fucking comics my dad had in those boxes bc if there was anything awesome in there brother i am mourning the immense loss of them. THOSE WOULD HAVE BEEN MINE. but maybe it's for the best i have zero idea what could have been in there in the mishmash of marvel and dc and other comics he had in there bc if it was anything more fun or exciting than what i do know i would be punching the ground daily. btw this is not to diss the comics i have inherited from my father i treasure knowing i own his collection but damn man it is rough when i dont really give a fuck about namor or silver surfer very much. well i could learn to give a fuck if i tried hard enough. namor and dd have met up a couple of times. surfer and him hung out once. but god. god guys it can be so hard to give a fuck about other marvel heroes for me because they arent my guy

After talking with my friends, I have come to the conclusion that half the Bnha fandom don't know why Sero's hero name is so bad.

If you don't know what his name is, it's Cellophane, and a lot of people don't like it/understand it because:

1. They often think of the plastic covering instead of the tape

And 2. They don't know the Japanese translation for it.

His hero name is 'Serofan' in Japanese. Its literally the worlds worst word play, but people don't know that. Sero's hero name is my favorite, because its a joke, an actual joke that he made to make people laugh.

So that, is why the English translation of Sero's hero name is probably one of least liked, aside from the girls ones (they all ended up with really boring ones :( )

What if Optigami is just the start of all the temporary heroes finding out Marinette's identity and as a result getting the miraculous permanently?

Like the next episode is Nino getting it.

Then its Max, then Kim, Kagami, Luka (They don't get back together after finding out. Marinette basically decided that was a no-no since she didn't want relationship drama and she realized she wasn't over Adrien so it would not work out for a plethora of reasons which Luka agreed with. He moved on) , Alix and so on.

Eventually the whole class except for Chloé, Lila and Adrien all know Marinette is Ladybug and they are all supporting her and helping out in their own way as permanent miraculous holders. Which of course Chat noir doesn't know. he still thinks the heroes are still temporary heroes that Ladybug is relying on more.

Marinette's life actually becomes a lot easier. Because she developed like a SUPPORT network.

Meanwhile, Adrien is finding his classmates are starting to drift away. He doesn't want to associate with Lila so he isn't talking to her, and Chloé is still angry over him calling her out over the movie thing.

His best friend Nino is even seemingly avoiding him.

And now when there is an akuma, ALL of the heroes show up.

The akuma and sentimonsters that appear are handled so easily now. Most of the time before Chat noir can even get there. Ladybug is there and she fist bumps with Rena Rouge and which ever heroes made it to the fight.

Ladybug doesn't even patrol anymore. She has her whole guardian thing to figure out, so she helped set up a patrol schedule. Chat noir patrols alone.

He can't even remember the last time he physically saw Ladybug.

Plagg tells Adrien he should call her and tell her. Which he does cave and call, but it went to voice mail. He asks if they can patrol sometime, he misses talking with her.

He gets a message from Rena Rouge a couple days later saying Ladybug doesn't have time for Patrols right now, she is having a break through with some guardian stuff and that Carapace can patrol with him is he wants.

Chat noir decides to accept it. Maybe being friendlier with the new heroes could help him accept this. They aren't hindering them, and it makes akuma fights easier. He should stop being gloomy about progress.

So he patrols with Carapace. And Chat noir actually does have a fun time with he turtle. It felt like he was hanging out with one of his closest friends.

As they relaxed Carapace accidentally leaks how having Wayzz full time has made a dent on his snack budget.

"What do you mean full time?"

Carapace explains that he is a full time hero like everyone else.

"What do you mean everyone... Are you saying every hero is a permanent miraculous wielder now."

"Well we all know who Ladybug is so it would be dangerous if we were civilians..."

Carapace stops and then asks.

"Do you.... do you not know who ladybug is?"

"Carapace. Im going to need you to send a message to the 'Guardian' for me." Chat noir said with a fake smile that was hiding a rather powerful negative emotion.
