Sick of your favs losing polls because no one knows who they are? Me too!
Welcome to the Obscure Character Showdown, where you can resubmit your submissions to other polls that didn't get in, your submissions that lost because the other character was far more well known, or a character you've never submitted anywhere, but still think of as obscure enough!
Some submission guidelines and info:
-Fictional characters only, no real people
-In this poll, characters with the least number of submissions take precedence! The more submissions your character has, the less likely they'll be to get in. So dig deep, and try to pick a character you think other people wouldn't!
-You can submit multiple characters, but only submit each character once. This is a general thing I always say, but spamming me will especially not help you here
-The submission form will be up for a week as of the day this is posted (May 14-May 21, 3pm PST)

*Submissions are closed, here is where you can find the lists of all characters who made it in*
I now have a ko-fi
I love the idea of polls for characters that wouldn’t win otherwise because they’re too obscure, so I want to know what character people have the most strong opinions about, specifically who can split a room between negative or positive opinions the best.
For example: i haven’t heavily interacted with fandom since steven universe days so I’ll use Rose Quartz as an example. People either think she’s a soft uwu mom victim of the diamonds or an evil irredeemable space despot. I have never met a steven universe fan with a neutral opinion about her.
So that’s how your blorbo can win this poll: by being divisive. They don’t have to be popular or from a popular media, they just need the people who know them to have a strong opinion about them. In this poll, the character with the MOST EVEN balance of votes wins. I’ll post an example poll to show what I mean, but basically you’re encouraged to submit a blorbo if you love them or hate them! Either one helps them in this poll!
Here is where you can find the list of all characters with 2 or more submissions who made it in! Those with one submission who made it in will be added to this list in phases so I can check them.
Form has been removed from under the cut due to being closed but the rules remain up for reference:
- fictional characters only, no real people or characters based on real people, such as a minecraft youtuber’s self-named oc, or fictionalized versions of historical figures (ie no hamilton characters, but clone high or fate is fine)
- as stated above, only submit each character once, although you can submit as many DIFFERENT characters as you want. Sending this post to friends who hate your fave or vice versa is also fair game, as long as they only submit their true opinions!
- Although to add to the hopeful anti-bullying safeguard, and to publicly answer a question I was asked privately, you can also submit characters who are ocs from smaller or fan works, but only if you get explicit permission from the creator. I don’t want to make any smaller creators feel uncomfortable about their character being widely hated even if they are also widely loved
- you can love or hate the character for any reason as long as you have strong feelings about them! They’ll have a better chance of making it in and winning if they are a controversial character, but you don’t necessarily have to submit only characters you know are controversial. I’m also allowing particularly good reasoning/propaganda to sway me, although I’m planning to probably include 512 characters so that as many as possible can get in!

Welcome to STEVE SMACKDOWN!!!
This is the place for all your favorite characters named Steve to fight! Rules listed below the Google Form.
Rules about submitting:
1. Your character must be named Steve in some way. This includes: Steve, Steven, Stephen, Stefan, Stefano, Stevie, and Steph. Asks will be open and if anyone has any other form of Steve, they can ask if it’s okay.
2. No DreamSMP or Harry Potter characters.
3. Real people are allowed. However, they have a much lower chance of getting in, in favor of fictional characters.
4. You can submit multiple characters, just don’t send in the same character multiple times in a row.
5. Submissions will end one week from now on July 18, at 1:00 PM EST.

Ever been captivated by an antagonist/villain's trans swag? God knows I fucking have. Their evil trans swag has captivated us all. Well, we get to throw them into this competition isn't that fun?

Rules
They should actually be antagonists. I'm not talking simply rivals, no they need to be the actual antagonist of an arc or the series. I don't want characters who were just assholes once in the beginning and then are part of the group. They can have moments where they help out the protags but at the end of the day, they're definitely still an antagonist
No fucking Harry Potter/Vivziepop/DSMP/MCYT/South Park. If I see any of that I think I might rip someone's throat out tbh

hi welcome to sleepy girl bracket! im your friendly very very sleepy mod
i love when im playing a game or watching an anime and find a sleepy girl trope. they usually end up being one of if not my favourite character!
and though sleepy girls are not naturally prone to violence tumblr loves battle… and i dont know every sleepy girl in existence, so it gives me a chance to meet more :)

heres a few rules and regulations to submitting! we must dream safely my loves:
im okay with real people being submitted, since this isnt a particularly invasive sort of thing to say about someone imo
you can also submit boys, sleepy girl is a state of mind
prime sleepy girl behavior is having being sleepy/lazy be a core part of the submission— a running gag, something related to backstory, or a current story element (like, sleeping beauty would count as a sleepy girl)
but if a submission’s visuals/theme/etc are heavily connected to sleep and dreams i will also consider them :)
kanata konoe (love live) and yuyuko tanaka (revue starlight) will already be included, youre free to still submit them if you really want, but i dont need you to!
im sure theres sleepy girls abound in eroges, so on the off chance you submit from an eroge, please just specify that its 18+ :) sleepy mod is 18 but i think its valuable to denote

Mystery Character Bracket!
Do you like voting in the brackets that have taken over Tumblr as of late? Do you find yourself voting for (or against!) characters based entirely on the fact that you know who one character is but not the other? Not a problem with the Mystery Character Bracket!
This bracket works the same as all the other brackets. You submit your character, who they are, what media they are from, etc. You also submit propaganda. But here's the catch:
You will be flying blind through this bracket. Characters' names and franchises will only be revealed after they are eliminated. The only thing you will have to judge the characters by is their propaganda.
So, propaganda guidelines:
Be vague enough that others, even fans of the same franchise, might have trouble identifying your character.
At the same time, be specific enough that your character CAN be identified.
Describe your character, but don't use the character's name or the name of the media they are from. That would make it too obvious.
Do not use subjective words like "awesome" or "just like me." Use words that objectively describe your character -- meaning, do not inject your opinion into your propaganda.
All propaganda must be SFW.
And character guidelines:
Characters do not need to be fictional. If your character is real, list the franchise as "Real life".
OCs and other fan made characters are welcome and encouraged!
If you are unsure whether a character qualifies or not, just ask yourself "Can I describe them with my propaganda?" If the answer is yes, then they qualify!
You may submit characters through the Google form below or through an ask. But because all characters must remain a mystery, your asks will not be answered publicly. I've never actually answered an ask privately before, so I have no idea what will happen if i do.

hi!!! welcome!!
i caved and made a poll bracket. similar to another bracket thats been cancelled (as far as i know) this bracket is for characters of all sorts -with a catch- no one will no who the characters are until theyre eliminated, masked singer style!!
I highly encourage the submissions of obscure characters, as they should thrive in this type of environment!! I just ask no real-life people and if a character is from a piece of media that makes me uncomfortable i have the right to refuse them entry to the tournament.
LITTLE FREAKS ARE HIGHLY ENCOURAGED ALSO!!
i think that about covers it, characters will be voted upon via motifs broad descriptions etc and when someone gets knocked out there will be the big reveal!!!
also i think the rounds will last a day until semifinals/finals whichll be a week!
i really hope yall have fun with this :)
