i feel like we have very similar ..ahem.. issues. I am tired of it and as a last resort was thinking of therapy. Can you maybe possibly tell me why it didnt help? Is it on the therapist or on you?

I highly encourage therapy! And I'm really glad you're considering it

I started therapy at a young age after my parents divorced, those-therapists were more on my dad's side rather than helping me. And when I did find someone who was helping my dad pulled me away. I don't think I ever received proper care growing up. Used to live in a different state and I only had me. I did research on therapists. Vetted the ones that peaked my interest. Their forms of strategy, the diagnosis' they handle. Especially, look to see if they offer and cover other symptoms I was struggling with, even if I wasn't diagnosed with it because they have knowledge with it. Sometimes, out of 20 you can knock the list down to singular digits. That means you dodged several duds by just research. You only have you to look out for yourself. I ended up finding a really amazing therapist and psychiatrist that, upon later research, had dogs roaming around the office for Emotional support animals. It was such a vibe environment. They were absolutely amazing. But my situation flipped and I had to leave. Life threw me into a situation where I don't have options, I am stuck with the therapist I have because I don't have the resources to drive over an hour away. There are some therapists who make all the difference in healing and helping you grow into whoever you want to be, they are not counterproductive. I continue therapy to this day, my current therapist sucks. I answer the questions brutally honest, self harm, anxiety, withdrawing, eating habits, suicidal ideation... and nothing happens with my therapist, it's on to the next question. I may not be getting the right help with mine, but at the end of the day I can say that I didn't bottle it up, I was honest. All I have is me and my want to learn more by books and internet.

Just because my experiences with therapists didn't help me, does not mean it would be the same for you. Some therapists are so dope at their job, on top of everything, asking questions, making you think about things you overlooked, giving resources. Some therapists care. Other therapists look at someone as a paycheck. Every person is different. If you have the option for you to choose which therapist, vet them out. It doesn't hurt to do some research on the person you are trusting to help you with you.

I'm really proud of you for seeking help, it's a big step, very brave. I honestly hope you the best. If you ever want to talk or vent or ask anything, my inbox is open!

Kabru is always my favorite tho bc I fucking love characters who are both ruthless and genuinely kind. Who have noble goals and strong ideals and will make compromises in order to reach them, especially when they aren't punished for it by the narrative. Kabru will straight up commit vigilante murder because he's done the math and judged it to be the action with the most harm reduction, and he's good at math.

Kabru is the only person in the series both on-scene and thinking about the larger implications of the actions being taken, and I love him for it.

I don't really have a specific go-to ship for him, but I like seeing exploration of his relationship with nations that aren't Norway ✨

I think he'd be very close to the BeNeLux siblings, and both Nethlands and Belgium can be good ship options for him in my opinion.

Ireland is also an option ofc, but then leaning more towards a nyo!Ireland for Denmark. He does strike me as the token straight brother of the Scandis 😅

As you might see, I tried to put ships with the same characters a bit together (though not necessarily facing off in the first round), so the best one will eventually move on to face the best of another character's ships. This didn't work for everyone though, and other than that, the bracket is mostly seeded (though I wonder how much that actually says when it comes to ships - we'll see!).

Hello, dear! I hope you are doing well ��⁠⑅⁠ᵕ⁠༚⁠ᵕ⁠꒱⁠˖⁠♡

First of all, I'm so happy you want to get into mori kei!! ^o^ I hope you are able to find comfort in this wonderful style, as well as in the community! Ask as many questions to as many people as you want, I promise we are all nice and willing to help! -`♡´-

Now, since it's starting to get toasty where I live, let me say that wearing mori in hot weather is damn near torture. ｡°(°.◜ᯅ◝°)° I understand your pain! The real problem here is the layering, which is a big part of mori as a whole. However, you can get away with wearing less layered outfits and still have that "mori look".

What do I mean by this?

Well...Let me make a list! ^^

1. Tops:

First and foremost, try to go for thinner, loose fitting blouses, tops, tunics or shirts. These are usually pretty easy to layer underneath a thinner, flowy dress (or even the opposite, depending on the type of coord you're aiming for!) and get that mori kei look without getting too hot!

Aim for short sleeves (or even those with straps/strapless), with natural, breathable materials like cotton or linen, and don't worry about layering too much, as it will cause you to get too hot!

2. Bottoms:

For the bottoms, try to look for flowy skirts (long, midi or short--remember, it will always come down to preference), or even some shorts! These are heaven sent for wearing mori in the summer, trust me! You can layer them underneath a loose tunic or a shorter dress, and put a thin lace vest on top and bam! you have a mori coord right there!

This is a personal preference, but I also like to wear jeans with mori, but those can get pretty hot for some people! If you prefer to wear trousers (or just want to), try to choose those that are flowy, loose and have natural, breathable fabrics. Go for either cotton, linen or denim since those are the most comfortable and breezy.

3. Shoes and Socks:

For shoes, look for something comfortable and not too heavy/hot. Sandals, or even Oxfords, as long as they are breathable and light, are the safest bet for you. Some white or beige cloth snickers will do the trick pretty easily as well, but, like I said, it will come down to preference at the end of the day.

Socks can get your feet pretty hot, but if you still want to use them, look for thinner socks made out of cotton, as those tend to be the lightest on the feet!

4. Accessories:

When it comes to accessories, avoid using anything made out of wool or crochet, as the materials are usually heavier and will make you hotter! Instead, opt for something lighter and easily removable, like pendants or thin bracelets.

Hair accessories are fine for the most part, but avoid any wool hats or anything that is too heavy and go for straw hats, for example! You can also add lace and doilies to them to make them cuter o(≧∀≦)o

If you don't like to accessorize that much, that's fine too!

At the end of the day, the most important part of mori kei is to be relaxed and not stress too much about it! It can be hard in the beginning to nail the coords, and you might feel like giving up. But remember, a mori wardrobe is not built overnight, and it usually takes a while for you to get to a place where you have all the pieces you need (or even want). There will be a lot of trail and error, but I assure you that once you get the hang of it (and once you find your own personal mori look) you won't want to go back! (✿◡‿◡)

you know. since learning what butch actually means. im starting to think that maybe. just maybe. im just....butch and not a trans man. just a thought i've been having after learning more about butch from you.

there are lots of experiences that some butches and trans men share (and a lot of other queer people for that matter) and as i've told other people before, there's absolutely nothing wrong with reconsidering your identity and self-reflecting.

if you're looking for more to read i always recommend Stone Butch Blues (though it can be heavy as a first read), and anything by Ivan E. Coyote (Gender Failure w/ Rae Spoon is my biggest recommendation for you). on the other hand there’s Lou Sullivan’s diaries, which i haven’t read myself, but he was a major pioneer & activist as an out gay trans man & i know a lot of people that love his work. more recently i read Chella Man’s little pocket book & he has dozens of articles published in various publications writing about his experiences. Stone Butch Blues is honestly something that i know both butches, transmascs, and trans men have all related to; like i said, a lot of the experiences overlap, and i know people on all sides that believed they were one and came out as the other later.

and there is no one singular way to experience your gender. particularly with SBB & Sullivan’s diaries, they’re dated, the community has changed a lot since they wrote those books, you may relate to some but not all. Ivan E. Coyote is butch and nonbinary, Rae Spoon was a trans man before coming out as nonbinary in 2012, Leslie Feinberg was butch and proudly called hirself a transgender lesbian, Lou Sullivan was a gay trans man, Chella Man is a pansexual, deaf, trans man of color.

no one experience invalidates the other. we do have similar experiences and we share similar language and we should celebrate that. and we should also respect and celebrate our differences, too, and support each other despite these differences. it's worth it to explore these feelings you have, even if they lead you back to where you started, you'll have a better understanding of yourself in the end; it wasn't wasted.
