You had woken up early that morning, expecting it to be like any other—getting up, getting ready, and heading to the arena to train the younger campers. You enjoyed the routine, especially passing by Hermes' cabin to catch a glimpse of Luke interacting so amiably with his half-siblings, causing your heart to skip a beat.
Determined to head to the training area, you were interrupted by a younger camper who needed help tying the laces of their worn-out sneakers.
"I thought you had this down, Claire," you said to the daughter of Hermes while expertly looping the shoelaces.
"I couldn't figure out what you did at the end," she murmured, glancing around as if expecting someone.
You eyed the younger girl suspiciously and proceeded to show her how to tie the knot. "Well, you just need to—"
"Hey, Y/N." Luke cut in as he jogged towards you.
Standing up, you turned to face Luke and saw him handing out sweets to Claire.
"I can't believe you just did that," you accused, pointing a finger at him.
"I didn't set anything up." He raised his hands, laughing as if surrendering. "I like your braid." Luke approached, tucking away a loose strand of your hair. "Suits you."
Feeling your cheeks warm, you stepped back from the brunette and crossed your arms.
"What do you want, Luke?" You asked curiously, starting to walk as you noticed some kids from your cabin heading in the direction you were supposed to be going.
Luke matched your pace. "Can't a dear friend want to see you?" He asked, and you felt one of your hands brushing against his as you walked side by side. "Actually, I-I..." He was interrupted by Annabeth calling out to you.
You both stopped, and Luke stepped back, scratching his neck as if embarrassed.
"Luke! Y/N!" You watched your sister come towards you. "Come on, Y/N, I've got a new tactic I want you to try with the bow," Annabeth said excitedly, pulling you towards the arena.
"Go on, then!" Luke waved to you. "Mind not hitting any campers with your bow, Y/N/N." He teased.
"You're an idiot, Castellan," you teased back, running off with Annabeth while hearing Luke's laughter.
The journey to the arena was short, but Annabeth wouldn't stop discussing the idea she had for the next capture the flag.
"He likes you," Annabeth halted before the arena entrance and stared at you.
You stopped and laughed at her. "He doesn't."
"He does," she insisted. "And you like him too." She slung her arm around your shoulder, amused because you and Luke were obvious to everyone at camp except yourselves.
"He's just a friend, Annie," you said as you both entered the arena.
The morning passed swiftly, not because you dwelled on what Annabeth had told you earlier or because Luke wanted to talk to you earlier. Soon enough, you found yourself alone in the arena, searching for your broken bow and arrows, supposed to be where you always left them but nowhere to be found today. Determined to fix it, you murmured, "I'm sure I left it here," while scanning through various other campers' bows.
"You left it here," Luke appeared behind you.
"Gods!" You startled, placing a hand on your chest and turned to him, annoyed.
"I didn't know I was that ugly to startle you," Luke said, leaning against a table nearby.
"You're not ugly, Luke," you mumbled softly, looking at him. "Wait what do you have behind you?" You asked, approaching him.
"Nothing," he murmured, turning so you couldn't see what he was hiding.
"Let me see, Luke," you stepped closer, trying to grab whatever he was holding.
Luke stepped back, and you stepped forward, causing both of you to collide and end up almost face to face, except for the height difference.
"I really want to kiss you right now," Luke spoke softly, and you wondered if you heard that correctly.
Summoning courage, you looked at him and locked eyes with his mouth. Luke released what he was holding, brushing a hand on your waist, pulling you closer. He looked at you, waiting for some sign of confirmation, and you stood on tiptoes and kissed him. Luke's hand cupping your cheek as he leaned in. Time seemed to stop as your lips met in a gentle yet fervent kiss, a mix of warmth and electricity passing between you.
When you pulled away, a gentle smile graced Luke's lips, and you were sure you were blushing. You rested your head on his chest, and he placed a kiss on your head. "I have something for you," Luke suddenly spoke and moved away to where he had hidden something. "That's why I wanted to talk to you earlier, but Annie showed up, and..."
"So, you used Claire to delay me?!" You accused, laughing, then stopped when you realized what he was holding.
"Don't blame me; I wanted to surprise you." Luke explained, and you couldn't help but find it endearing that he sought help to surprise you. "I saw it broken yesterday." He extended your bow towards you. "I tried fixing it myself, but I don't have the skills of a Hephaestus kid," he chuckled nervously. "I think you’ll like."
You took your bow from him, amazed at Luke's gesture. "It's perfect, Luke," you ran your hand over the drawings - more like scribbles - that weren't there before. "I love it." Surprising him, you hugged him, and Luke let out a breath he didn't realize he was holding. "Thank you, truly."
Luke hugged you back, his arms enfolding you with a mixture of surprise and contentment. "Anytime, Y/N." he murmured, his voice soft.
You pulled away, holding the repaired bow with a newfound appreciation. "I can't believe you did this," you said, a smile lighting up your face. "You're more talented than you think, Luke."
He scratched the back of his head, a bashful grin spreading across his features. "Well, I had some inspiration." Luke's eyes met yours, holding a warmth that sent a rush of comfort through you.
"Thank you, Luke," you repeated, feeling genuinely grateful. "I owe you one."
He chuckled softly. "How about you owe me a rematch at capture the flag?"
You laughed, nodding in agreement. "You're on, Castellan."

I loved your stories with Clarisse. I wanted to know if I could do one where Reader is a daughter of Nemesis. Normally very quiet and "calm", to the point that many don't understand how she and Clarisse work out. But one day, some campers set up an ambush for Clarisse in the capture the flag and she ends up getting hurt. Even though Clarisse doesn't care much, Reader comes up with a plan worthy of Annabeth's surprise, and takes revenge on the campers who hurt her girlfriend. Everyone knew it was her, but there was no concrete proof so she gets away with it.

The conch shell rang loudly. You looked up and sighed, finishing tying your shoes you grabbed your weapon of choice before heading towards your spot at flag patrol.
Clarisse ran past you but stopped. She gently grabbed your waist, kissing you she grinned. “Feel like a winning day?”
“Maybe” You mumbled with a smile. Clarisse kissed you one last time for ‘good luck’ before she ran off to do some hunting.
Many campers were confused about your relationshp. Clarisse who was an arrogant and abrasive girl who had to much pride for her own good, managed to end up dating you a calm collected and quiet daughter of nemesis. Some figured your gentle nature just happened to balance out clarisse chaotic one.
——
You aimlessly walked in circles around the flag with the other kid who was patrolling with you doing the same. You stepped on a twig which made a loud snap, you felt an over whelming sense of anxiety. Your kiss earlier for good luck had also connected you and clarisse both in battle a gift you had inherited from your mother.
You grabbed your weapon that was sitting on a near by rock quickly. “Where are you going!” The kid who was patrolling with you yelled as you ran off.
Soon you found clarisse sitting against a tree wincing in pain as her sibling was adjusting her arm into a sling.
“What happened” You anxiously dropped by clarisse moving some curls out of her face. “Fucking Athena kid made some dumbass trap” clarisse nodded her head as a signal for her siblings, they moved her arm fast making her yell a string of insults in Greek. After a few minutes she panted as the pain subsided “Sprained my arm but it’s fine, i can still fight”
“No Your not” You sternly spoke.
“It’s whatever just a sprained arm I’ll live, can’t say the same for that Athena bitch though” clarisse muttered under her breath.
You looked up at her siblings and gave them a look which they understood was ‘don’t let her leave from here’. The kids looked at eachother but kept quiet, you leaned over and kissed clarisse. “Stay here ok.. 20 minutes and if I win the game you will take a break for a few days ok”
Clarisse grinned at the bet “and if you don’t?”
“You’ll get my meats for the next month”
“Fine”
——
You spent the next ten minutes getting caught. You get caught then you had the advantage in setting your trap.
Luke tossed you down with a small pile of kids one of which was your brother Ethan. You pretended to be sad and dissaptioned using your clean record charm to your advantage.
“Sorry y/n It’s Nothing Personal Just fun and games” Luke gave you his same old sarcastic smile.
“No it’s ok I get it” you shrugged your shoulders. Waiting for him to walk away you turned to Ethan. “You set the ropes right?” You leaned over and whispered
“Yeah did everything like you asked” he muttered while glaring up at the blue team kid who’s as standing guard over the captured kids.
It took about 10 minutes until you heard a loud commotion, with that you had knocked out the solider standing guard stole the flag and ran off to the lakes shore.
——
The final conch rang signaling your teams victory. Clarisse rolled her eyes as she walked over towards you shaking her head at your dumb sarcastic grin. As your group celebrated, the blue team walked over with Chiron in tow.
“Her fucking y/n she’s the one who set up that damn trap” Liam a Hermes kid pointed at you accusingly you however remained innioncent.
“What trap?” You played it off.
“Oh you little—“ liam started to get into your face but clarisse immeaditly stepped in. Chiron however put his arm inbetween the two to keep things cordial.
“How about you tell me what the trap was” the centaur looked down at the angry kid. He had been scuffed up pretty bad with a few bleeding cuts of his own.
“It was a Large rope scheme, we stepped into our safe zone and boom a loud explosion of green fire went off before we could leave more went off getting practically all of our team surrounded in Greek fire, then once we got free half of us were swept up into the tree upside down by that point the flag had been taken and now we’re here and I know it was y/n because… well I can’t actually prove it but I know it was her!”
You kept your innocent appearance with a small smile still denying the accusations.
“I’m sorry Liam but if there’s no solid proof I can’t do anything, as far as I see y/n is innocent” Chiron sighed while setting a comforting arm on his shoulder. The kid scoffed and stormed away, as everybody cleared off you smiled at clarisse giving her a kiss. “So about the bet” you grinned.
“Shut up” she laughed but kissed you back. In the corner of your eye you saw annabeth chase of all people walking over to you.
She stopped infront of you with a serious expression. You raised an eyebrow confused but waited for her to speak. “I know you set that trap, and I know you made sure not to leave an evidence you did it. Next time you wont be so lucky” she crossed her arms, you knew annabeth was a force to be reckoned with and crossing her was a bad idea. “But you have my respect that was a good trick you pulled today. Enjoy your celebratory dinner” she sighed before walking away.
You looked back at clarisse for a moment. You smiled wide at her laughing at her pretend agitated face at the fact you had won and clarisse ultimate lost.
“You know” clarisse started while walking back to the dining hall with you. “It’s kinda hot how you managed to fuck up a bunch of kids just because I got hurt, don’t tell me your over protective”
“Shut up clarisse”

My thoughts on episode 4 of PJO: spoilers (chaotic edition because I JUST watched it and the thoughts are so fresh)
-First off: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
-Ok, good. Had to get that out. Second: best 30 minutes of my life
-I don’t think you guys will ever be able to fully comprehend how much I love Annabeth Chase and seeing Leah as her has only heightened that love. So imagine how elated I was to watch an episode full of my girl. She slayed, owned, and ate this episode. Whatever you want to call it. She did it
-“Are you awake?” The long-ass pause before Annabeth answered. As soon as Percy spoke, I was so hoping he was talking to her and not Grover (sorry I love him but). And then she answered
-She finally opened up to him!! We got some of her backstory!! She’s finally feeling comfortable!!!
-Percy’s face when she said she was seven. He was so surprised. I think he realized instantly how long this girl has been going through so much. They are only twelves years old. But she was a child when this began for her. Like you could tell he couldn’t believe it
-Grover mocking Annabeth was probably my favorite line from him yet. He’s so unserious I love him. Also, the food part was too relatable
-Small detail but the sky was so freaking pretty in the background. Such a unique thing to add and I loved it
-“Can I ask a dumb question?” As soon as he said it I knew Annabeth was gonna be the one to respond and she did not disappoint.
-“little girl” Annabeth’s reaction. I got chills. Leah deserves an Oscar/Emmy (whatever the actor award is) for that scene alone
-Loved Enchilada (don’t know how to spell her name and don’t feel like going back to check) but she talked too damn much. I was like get back to my kids please. Oh and back the hell up
-My BOY GOT STABBED NOOOOO. Oh he’s fine (plot twist: no he’s not)
-Annabeth took that mf DOWN for a second
-The monument!!! It was so cool!! Interesting that it’s a monument to Athena. I think I remember that from the book but either way that’s cool
-The. Entire. Conversation. Between. Percy. And. Annabeth. Oh. My. Gods.
-The fake accent??? Where did that come from?? I had to rewind twice just to make sure I heard right. Like what in Percy’s mind told him to do that? What wires crossed or came undone? How far had that poison reached? Because that was so unserious and I fell even more in love with his character
-He likeeeeeeeeeeees her
-Annabeth’s smile!! I’ve been waiting to see her smile like that and it was so cool to see! My girl is finally happy! for a second
-“You’ve done more for me in the past two days…” “If I had to pick someone, I’d…”
That required my BRAIN
-Plot twist: (again) Percy is not fine
-The splashing water was so funny. Like I get why but come on that was something else.
-Percy seeing what Annabeth has already sacrificed for him and his quest: her relationship with her mother. He sees what he has already cost her and what helping him means to her and omg it was heartbreaking
-One thing I absolutely adore about the books is that Annabeth’s intelligence is never in doubt by the reader. It’s not Percy or other characters saying she’s smart again and again with no proof. It’s not the narrative shoving the fact that she is smart in your face over and over. She proves she is smart. She proves she is inventive and strategic and intelligent by her actions and thought process and it’s almost never mentioned verbally. That whole idea of show vs tell? It’s perfectly shown through Annabeth acting intelligent instead of people talking about how intelligent she is.
Like how she splashed Percy with water or pulled the fire alarm. The viewers are shown she is smart, not just told.
-Annabeth’s willingness to sacrifice herself for her friends. Her only caring about Percy being poisoned, bot the monsters, and helping him. She knew she would die going up against the Chimera, even calls it the “demigod killer”, yet she does it anyway so her friends can succeed. She opened up to these boys and now she was giving her life for them
-Percy doing the same. Exact. Thing. The trick with the sword. The whispered words against the door, even as they shouted at him to open it. He knew for sure he would die and wanted it to be for a good cause. He didn’t even know if he could fight the chimera, but it was better him than Annabeth
-That boy looked so sick someone please help him
-oh, someone did.
-Dude I told my dad about the whole “Rick not knowing the River wasn’t right under the arc” thing and I was so excited to see how they did that and honestly it worked. Poseidon’s first way of helping Percy was by pulling him into the water, showing him to “just breathe”. My dad laughed when we watched it.
-oh I forgot! I love the first scene with Sally. Had some ptsd from swimming lessons but got to see young Percy so it was worth it
-Also the fall was shot so cool. I felt like I was falling with him
-He can breathe underwater! We knew this! But it’s still awesome!
I can’t even wrap my head around next episode. We are going to be fed so well after this short-ass episode and I am so ready. This episode already gave more Percabeth than I was expecting all season and I wanted to cry it was so adorable. This show is the only thing getting me through each week.
(Also, if you couldn’t tell, I finally figured out how to do italics instead of just capitalizing everything. Go me!)

Not Romeo, Not Juliet
Chapter 9: A Little Wild
Fandom: Red Hood
Pairing: Jason Todd x f!reader
Warnings: minor violence, angsty af Jason, semi-bad father Bruce Wayne
Summary: Dick blocked YN's number and Jason isn't please
Notes: so this story is turning out longer than I imagined and I'm pretty sure it's going to have a sequel; I know where I'm ending this one but so much is going to remain unresolved that I'm going to need a second part, also I think my favorite thing in this fic is Jason's crush on Annabeth Chase, it makes me laugh every time it comes up
If by chance I talk a little wild, forgive me; I had it from my father.
— HENRY VIII, ACT 1 SCENE 4
Jason had texted YN that night from the ER and she had said she would talk to him the next day but then she didn’t text him that whole day. He thought maybe she had been scared, worried, annoyed, a plethora of less than flattering thoughts filled his head, but she had never just disappeared on him so at school on Monday, when he wasn’t under the watchful eye of Dick, he tried to text her and found that her number had been blocked and he wasn’t able to unblock it. He held tight to his anger that day, using it for play practice, enough so that the director asked for him to stay after. He didn’t want to, he wanted to get home and punch his brother in the face before demanding he undo the block on YN’s number, but his director had been nothing but kind of supportive to him, so he stayed, keeping the rage locked down, eyes a striking green at the moment.
“How do your eyes do that color changing thing?” she asked him as he sat on the edge of the stage by her. He shrugged; fist clenched at his sides. She could see he wasn’t in the mood for her jokes, so she took a more serious tone. “I appreciate that whatever you are angry about you are using for act five, but you actually punched Matt and that wasn’t great.” Jason nodded, he knew that had been too much, but he honestly thought Matt was lucky it would just be a black eye and not a broken nose. “You want to talk about it, or should I just send you home to glower?”
“My brother is being an ass,” he said, glancing at her to see if she would harp on his language. She just nodded in understanding. “There’s this girl and he doesn’t like me seeing her because of who her dad is. She is great, but he says we don’t actually know her.” Jason didn’t know why his theater director was so easy to talk to, besides his therapist and YN she was the only person who actually seemed to listen to him, and he needed that. He needed someone to see him as he was, not his past or what he could be in the future but who he was right now. Dick didn’t understand that, couldn’t settle on who Jason was in this in-between world. He wasn’t Robin anymore, but he wasn’t whatever was coming next, he was just confused and somewhat lost. She seemed to get that, and she probably saw a lot of kids like him wander through, trying to make sense of their lives, maybe that’s why she always knew what to say.
“Sounds like he has his reasons, they’re not good ones at all, but maybe you should talk to him about those reasons,” she suggested. Jason hung his head, shaking it. “Look, I have seen your file, it’s a very thick packet of papers, they describe a kid who came from a less than happy home life to become a child of one of the richest men in the world. Then you stopped being Jason Todd and because almost a carbon copy of Dick Grayson, your older brother. Bruce Wayne knew what he wanted in a son and you seemed to give that too him for a while. I can’t exactly say what happened after you were expelled from Gotham Magnet Academy, but I know that the fight you got in wasn’t your fault. There was nothing to suggest that you would attack anyone…”
“It was my fault,” he said softly. Jason hated thinking about that day, the day that Bruce had probably given up on him. Sure he had kept him, he was still Robin, but he had been pulled from school, forced into home school, all because Jason had refused to believe he was wrong. Bruce didn’t always know best, Jason was smart despite what his adoptive father thought. He knew that Penguin had an illegitimate son in his school and Jason would prove it, get the kid to talk. He had been a classmate of his in science, quiet, but with a mean streak that even Jason didn’t fully find out about until he found the kid cutting lines onto a girl in an empty classroom. She had broken up with baby Penguin after only dating a month, which in terms of 8th grade relationships, was a long time, and he hadn’t taken it well. Jason had stopped him, saving the girl, who had run out of school that day and never came back, never told anyone why Jason had put that boy in the hospital. Jason had been expelled, that boy had been proven by Bruce to not have any relation to Penguin, just a slight resemblance in how cruel his eyes were, that Jason took as proof. It was the same recklessness that had led Jason to chasing the Joker on his own. Led to him being cornered while Joker beat him to death in that empty funhouse. Jason still wasn’t sure whether Bruce left him to die or not. Jason was a ticking time bomb, maybe Dick was right to block YN from his life. He wouldn’t be any good for her.
“Jason, you were 14, kids get into fights and that kid was bad news if you ask me,” she said. Jason looked at her, how did she know so much? She smiled at him. “You’re a good kid Jason Todd and you’ll be a good man someday if you let yourself heal from whatever trauma you experienced. Right now, you’re holding onto the pain, and its going to take a long time, but you have to let it go and let yourself move past it.” Jason nodded slowly, still curious why his theater teacher knew so much about everything, but he was late, and he knew Dick was still tracking him. He said thanks and departed for home.
Dick was waiting for him when he got back, on the phone, and Jason’s blood ran cold when he heard what the conversation.
“Bruce, I have no idea who that guy in the helmet is,” Dick said, clearly agitated. Jason went up to the loft, pretending to do homework, but listening to every word his brother said. He was guessing the other side of the conversation, but it sounded like Bruce wasn’t easily convinced about Dick’s innocence.
“He used smoke bombs; you can literally buy ten of those in the Narrows for three dollars…”
“What are you talking about? Jason didn’t even like red…”
“Jason is dead Bruce, remember? You left him in the ground to rot…”
Jason still his fake writing, hating the reminder that his father didn’t really want him to be alive, had decided that instead of going to the league, which had paid Joker to be a distraction in Gotham that night, and make them right the wrong they had created he had wanted to leave him be. He heard a deep sigh downstairs.
“I know you’re listening, just come down and we can talk,” Dick called. Jason walked down the stairs, plopping on the couch. “So, I’m guessing you noticed I blocked YN’s number…”
“Ya and I really would like to know why,” Jason asked. Dick sighed again, the sound becoming second nature since Jason had moved in. “She isn’t dangerous, she just wants to be in theater, go to Gotham U, become a teacher. She’s not some greedy villain like her dad.”
“She could be one day though. We’re all just one bad day from being criminals,” Dick said.
“Yes, I know, Bruce and fear toxin showed us that,” Jason said, remembering that day quite well. Bruce had given him a scar across his stomach that until his dip in the Lazarus Pit had been a reminder that the Batman was always one step ahead of them.
“And you’re not exactly in the best place to be dating,” Dick continued. “That’s rich considering that when you thought I was dating some girl in my theater group you were giddy about it,” Jason shot back.
“That’s because when you talked about her I could see it wasn’t serious, you didn’t really have too deep of feelings for whoever you made up…”
“Annabeth, and I love Annabeth, she ever becomes real I am marrying her, Percy be damned,” Jason muttered, folding his arms. Dick ignored him.
“I saw it when I walked in on you and YN the other night, you really do love her. And I’m not watching you become Bruce with Selina,” his big brother finished. Jason paused, thinking back to what he knew of Selina Kyle, Catwoman, and sometimes Bruce’s lover. She had been the only person to make Batman lose his advantage, always getting away, sometimes staying around, but ultimately leaving again. The last time she had been in Gotham Jason was maybe 13 and he just remembered Bruce being upset about her leaving.
“She wasn’t that bad for Bruce,” Jason argued.
“You didn’t see them when they started, all the damage it did to Bruce and to Gotham. I was cleaning up messes for months because Bruce refused to do anything about her. Then she leaves and I’m sure you saw Bruce trying his best, but he was devastated, he was nearly useless. I was patrolling all of Gotham and Bludhaven to make up for his lack of care,” Dick said. “I know Alfred was shielding you from it, guiding you in that time, and I’m glad he did, you didn’t need to see your hero like that. But Jason, I will be damned before I see another criminal take one of us down like that.” Jason shook his head.
“I understand what you’re trying to do Dick but you can’t. You can’t just assume she is like Selina, who at the time all that shit went down, was a hardened criminal with years of built up anger and hate towards the city. YN isn’t like that and you keeping her from me, someone who wants to help her never become that, isn’t going to help,” he argued.
“I won’t risk it Jason, I can’t lose you again,” he said. Jason felt his heart tighten at that. His brother cared about him, he knew that, but how deeply he didn’t think he’d ever know. And maybe Dick was right to keep him away from YN, maybe she would become a criminal, or more likely, Jason would be the one who hurt her. He was reckless still, just like he had been in middle school, with Joker, even at the club the other night. He hadn’t thought things through, and he got lucky no one had been hurt, how often would that happen? What if YN was in the line of fire? What if she was holding the gun? He sat back and shook his head.
“Fine,” he said softly. Maybe he would give it time, see if maybe he just thought he was right again and that this feeling wasn’t what he thought it was.
He kept it up that whole week, but nothing changed. He felt empty when he couldn’t call or message YN, hated going to practice when he knew he wouldn’t be able to send her something stupid Jackson did, or she couldn’t send him stories about how bad her male lead was. He couldn’t tell her how he was lost right now, all the new information about Bruce, the digging into his past, how all of that was making him feel incredibly listless and apathetic. He felt like he’d never care about anything again. Then he left practice on Friday evening and sitting on a bench in the front courtyard was YN, with the seniors stomping right towards her.

Feelings I Once Had
Fandom(s): Percy Jackson & the Olympians
Summary: After years of not even an Iris Message, Percy catches up with Nico in one of his sporadic visits to the US. They've come a long way from who they once were, but have they really changed that much?
Based on @yonemurishiroku's post!
Rating: T
AO3 link
It was ironic, Percy thought as he saw Nico play with his cat, Moncho. He’d spent years thinking of him as his young, troubled, weird cousin. He had no right to appear out of the blue, after years of almost no contact, looking strikingly handsome in a dark blue sweater and jeans.
His face had got longer, but it suited him well, together with his straight nose, he looked like a Roman emperor. Level-headed, powerful, and just a slight trace of irony in his barely quirked lips.
He was alone. He’d brought nobody back with him. A detail Percy was surprised to have noticed, and even more surprisingly, it had given him a weird sense of satisfaction.
“It’s been a while,” he told the boy –man now, Nico was in his mid-twenties, he’d come far from the antisocial 14-year-old Percy remembered—. “Where have you been?”
Nico, who had shrugged after his first remark, smiled. “Italy. I went back to my family’s home in Veneto.”
Percy had heard about that. “Annabeth mentioned you were making it a home for demigod children across the Atlantic.”
“I already have!” He grinned then, a cheerful expression he couldn’t remember in his cousin after Westover Hall, ages ago. “The structural work was finished a couple of years back, and now I’ve seven children living there already!” His face turned serious after a second. “I’m sorry about you and Annabeth, I only found out the other day. Hazel told me.”
Percy gave him a rueful smile. “It’s okay. We loved each other, but we’ve changed a lot. She’s still fun to hang out with, anyway.”
“Yeah, I don’t doubt that.” Nico nodded. “She helped me out with some of the remodelling. She couldn’t stay long, though, she was doing that doctorate-master’s-whatever-it-is…”
“Harvard loves her,” Percy agreed. Still, he didn’t want to talk to Nico about his ex. He put a hand on his shoulder lightly, ready to let go if Nico reacted badly, but he didn’t seem to mind. “So, what brought you back to the US?”
“I was visiting,” Nico said. “It’s been a while since I saw Hazel. Her little girl’s grown so much!”
Percy studied his face while he talked. He looked proud, Percy knew he loved his niece to hell and back. He’d spoiled her rotten back while he lived in the country, and he didn’t doubt Nico had brought a suitcase full of presents for her, now that he’d returned.
He squeezed Nico’s shoulder, then let go.
Nico looked around Percy’s apartment. “Nice place you’ve got here.”
Percy gave him a half-smile. “The landlady certainly thinks so, she’s charging me rent as if this was Hudson Yards.”
Nico scoffed. “Landlords are shit.”
“ You are a landlord,” Percy reminded him.
He frowened. “No, I’m not.” Then his expression relaxed. “A bit, but I don’t really rent out my family’s properties. There are tenants –who, by the way, live there for free—, and they mind the place, that’s all.”
Percy didn’t know whether that was reliable information or not, he knew Nico was adept at twisting the truth to his benefit, but for whatever reason, him speaking about tenants in that way gave Percy an impression of what Nico could’ve looked like in the past. An earl, perhaps, or one of those rich fancy people in his mom’s shows who were called ‘my lord’, and ‘your grace’.
For an embarrassingly long moment, Percy had a very vivid daydream of calling Nico ‘my lord’ as he pushed him against a wall and kissed him hard.
He waved that thought aside.
What the hell was happening to him? Since when did he want to make out with Nico di Angelo of all people?
Nico must’ve realised Percy was staring at him strangely because he looked uncomfortable.
“Sorry,” Percy said. “You just reminded me of that guy in Downton Abbey.”
Nico rolled his eyes, but seemed relieved.
Percy made a conscious effort not to frown. It wasn’t that he usually enjoyed being observed with intension , and to be very, very honest, he was still a little bit bemused about this sudden attraction he was feeling, but Nico had had a crush on him for a while, was Percy’s interest really that unwelcome?
Percy shook that train of thought away. He was overthinking things. Nico had no idea what had crossed his mind. While he had many talents, mind reading was not one of them.
“Let’s go get something to eat,” Percy suggested. “I’m starving.”
“It’s like half past six,” Nico pointed at a clock in the wall. “You can’t be hungry already.”
“It’s dinner time,” Percy argued.
“If you insist.” Nico shrugged. “But let’s go somewhere they serve coffee, I don’t feel like having a real meal yet.”
o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o
In the end, they decided to go to a little sandwich place that had takeaway coffee and some pastries left from the afternoon.
They must’ve looked like strangers forced to share a table, Percy with a gigantic kebab sandwich with fries, and Nico with a monumental cup of coffee and two caramel croissants.
They chatted about what they’d missed, straying from the topic of Annabeth, which Percy was glad for.
Nico had wandered around his childhood neighbourhood, and his grandparents’ estate. He’d learned a bunch about his family, he’d got their affairs in order –made easier by Hades, who, despite being a sociopathic bastard, appeared to have kept things running smoothly on the di Angelo estate —.
He was happy, Percy thought. Not at all upset about being single, or so Percy guessed, since Nico hadn’t mentioned a boyfriend at all. He wondered whether being alone bothered him because he’d got used to having Annabeth beside him for everything, or if he really wanted a partner.
Regardless, his hope that his fantasy had been a passing fancy hadn’t been heeded by fate.
Every time Nico talked, Percy’s mind got caught in the slightly raspy undertone of his voice. When he spoke of things that made him happy, Percy felt as if the sun through the window melted the brown in his eyes into a puddle of warm joy. At one point, he’d sucked caramel off his thumb, and Percy had felt himself blush.
Blush. He was a 31-year-old man! Men didn’t blush.
Nico had caught his expression then, and had blushed himself.
“Sorry,” he’d said. “Not very elegant, I know. But this croissant is surprisingly good, considering the place.”
Percy would’ve defended Santi’s Sandwiches with his life, but the way Nico had pronounced ‘croissant’ had brought forward the kissing scene in his mind, so he’d let it drop.
The worst part was that it wasn’t just a physical pull.
Nico had turned his life around. He’d taken all that hurt and despair, and grown strong from it. Strong and kind. He wasn’t resented, or jealous about people having it easier than he had. He was fighting to make that happen! To have children be spared the atrocities he himself had faced.
Percy asked, at some point, whether it bothered him to keep helping the gods, when they’d done, frankly, so little to deserve it.
Nico had shrugged.
“It’s not for them,” he’d explained. “It’s for their children. It’s hard being like us. They need a place to call home, where they can be understood and looked after. Away from the streets, and all that emptiness one feels when you think nobody cares.”
Percy couldn’t believe this was the same boy who’d wanted to exchange Dedalus’ soul for his sister’s. To him, Nico had turned from spiteful goblin into a Disney princess, full of hope and optimism.
Although, thinking about it as Nico kept telling him or his wards, Percy couldn’t recall a time when Nico had been purposefully cruel. He’d lied, omitted the truth, manipulated, but he’d never had bad intentions.
Even as a child, Nico had cared about fairness, despite having had very little of it himself.
They were walking back to his place now, but Nico said he wanted to walk.
“Let’s go to Central Park,” he decided. “I’ve never been a tourist here, I deserve it.”
Percy would rather eat his own shit than pretend to be a tourist in his own city, but he could always pretend to be a kind stranger taking a photo for a nice Italian young man, so he accepted the detour.
“It’s so pretty when there’s not a war going on,” Nico said. “And huge. How can there be such a big park in the middle of one of the biggest cities in the world?”
“Lots of people come here to exercise,” he replied, unsure of Central Park’s history.
“Can you talk to the fish in the lagoons?”
“It’s a lake,” Percy corrected him. “I’ve never tried to talk to the fish.”
“There’s ponds at my grandparents’ place,” Nico said. “You should visit them someday, see if you can talk to those .”
He’d spoken in a good-humoured way, with the beginning of a smile that Percy couldn’t help but appreciate. But there was a trace of sheepishness in his posture too, as if he wasn’t sure of what he was suggesting.
“I’d love to go,” Percy told him honestly.
“Do you think the fish would talk in English or Venetian?”
Percy rolled his eyes. “Sea creatures don’t talk in English , or any other language, Nico. They… I don’t know, they communicate, I guess.”
“Che figo!” Nico said. “I wish I could communicate with Cerberus, he’s such a nice dog.”
Percy wasn’t all that sure. Yes, the dog had tried to play with a rubber ball, but it was also a line of defence in the Underworld, and Grover had said it had wanted to kill all three of them, back in their first quest.
There wasn’t much to say until Nico decided to take a selfie.
Percy couldn’t believe he even knew what a cellphone was, much less how to use one.
“I’m so not taking a photo in Central Park,” he said.
“Come on,” Nico insisted. “It’s just for Cleo, she wanted to come to visit Brooklyn House, but she was dealing with some people trying to rob a tomb, or something of the sort.”
“No,” Percy repeated. “It’s not dignified for locals.”
As he spoke, a couple of runners crossed their path, going the other way. They slowed down so they wouldn’t run them over.
“They could’ve seen me,” Percy said, once they’d gone out of sight. “What if they heard me speak, knew I was a New Yorker, and saw me take a picture?”
Nico pushed him lightly with his shoulder and muttered, “You’re so dramatic.”
“You wouldn’t go around taking photos if I strolled around Venice with you, would you?” Percy asked, turning to return to their path.
Nico thought for a second. “Depends.”
“On…?”
“Not in the Canałaso,” he admitted. “That would be undignified. But anywhere else? Yeah, why not? It’s a beautiful city, Venice. It’d be a waste not to take photos of its prettiest spots.”
Percy thought the real waste was not having visited Nico in Venice yet. He wondered if he’d be more relaxed there, in his childhood city. Percy guessed he would. He liked visiting other places, he’d even lived in New Rome for a memorable term and a half, but there was something so nostalgically comforting about coming back home.
“Your grandparents’ house isn’t in Venice, though, is it?” Percy asked when the silence had gone on for a while.
Nico shook his head. “It’s a small town North of the city. Not too far, specially for somebody used to American distances. Around half an hour by car.”
“If I were to visit you,” Percy decided. “I’d have to see that town, too.”
“Of course!” Nico grinned. “That’d be fun. There’s not much to do, if you like a social nightlife, but the children would love to meet another demigod! They’ve heard a lot about you already.”
“You told them about me?” Percy was surprised.
Nico gave him a perplexed look, “Of course, I did.” Then he blushed. “I mean, you’re one of the most powerful demigods alive. You’ve gone through so much, and yet here you are, living your adult life: a university degree, a stable job, father to Moncho, the most unstable cat I’ve ever met. It’s motivating.”
His words were candid. The awe in his voice filled Percy with pride, as if owning New York’s most fuzzy cat was a feat on its own. But Nico looked embarrassed, so Percy thought of something to say to put him at ease.
“I was worried you had warned them about me,” he told Nico. “But it seems you’ve sold me better than I’ve ever managed to do so myself. You should write my CVs!”
It had the desired effect, Nico rolled his eyes with a rueful smirk.
“I’m rather good at bullshitting,” he said. “I could write exquisite CVs if I needed a job.”
“I keep forgetting you’re a trustfund child,” Percy said. “Even after a whole afternoon talking about your grandfather the marquess and your inherited properties.”
Nico pushed him with his shoulder again. “Let’s go back to your place, I’m getting dinner hungry now.”
Percy laughed. “You should’ve had a real sandwich.”
“Unfortunately,” Nico replied grimly. “You might be right.”
o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o
Percy didn’t have much to offer at his apartment.
At least, not something that counted as a real dinner, so he made Nico a couple of pre-made meat patties, and a lettuce and tomato salad.
“My compliments to the cheff,” Nico said. “For this gourmet cuisine.”
Instead of replying, Percy laid the salt and pepper shakers in front of him with a little more force than necessary.
“Bon apetit,” he told Nico. “If you want me to cook for you, you should warn me of your arrival more than three hours in advance.”
Nico shrugged.
“My bad,” he said between bites of vegetables. “I wasn’t sure I was going to make it today. The babysitter didn’t arrive until a couple of days ago.”
Percy raised an eyebrow, sitting in front of Nico, with a plate of patties of his own.
“Oh, Will was going to get some days off,” Nico explained. “From the clinic, you know. But human resources took ages to get back to him, and he had to get the plane tickets to get there… and not everybody’s made to withstand the highs and lows of Trenitalia.”
The mention of Will Solace felt like a slap to Percy.
Nico and Will hadn’t been together in ages. That is to say, Percy had heard some rumours about them sleeping together a couple of times shortly after they’d broken up, but nothing serious. The fact that Nico trusted his wards to Will meant they’d stayed in contact much better than Percy had.
“Highs and lows of Trenitalia?” He asked to keep the stab of jealousy at bay.
Nico waved a hand dismissively. “They’re not the best trains, I guess. But Will’s been there before, he should know that already!”
Had he?
Percy thought of a subtle way to ask, but couldn’t come up with something quickly enough.
“Are you two a thing again?”
Nico frowned. “Jesus, no.”
“No need to sound so defensive!”
Nico sighed. “No, sorry. It took me by surprise, that’s all. Will and I haven’t been anything in years. He’s seeing an intern in the clinic he works in.”
“Right, yeah…”
“You look relieved.”
Percy blushed. “I’d hate to be the only one whose teenage relationship didn’t work.”
Nico smiled. He looked so sympathetic it made Percy guilty about lying.
“That’s fair,” Nico told him, putting a hand over his reassuringly across the table. “But if you ask me, it’s way more common to grow in separate ways than to have a happily ever after with the person you were dating at sixteen.”
Percy nodded, hoping he didn’t look too enthusiastic about Nico’s cool hand over his. He gave it a light squeeze, as if thanking him.
Luckily for Percy, the topics strayed away from exes and other lovers. Nico asked about his mom and Paul, and was glad to hear Paul had been made viceprincipal, and his mom was on her way to publish her third book.
“I read her mystery novel,” he told him cheerfully. “Absolutely incredible. I didn’t know who the murdered was until way past half the book! But when you read it again, it’s plain obvious!”
He told Percy whatever gossip he knew about their friends. About Reyna’s travels, and Piper’s art.
When it was time for him to go, Percy felt a sudden sense of loss.
“You could stay, you know,” he told Nico.
“That’s all right,” Nico said, patting his arm. “I’ve a hotel booked already. I’m only staying today, then Camp for a couple of days, and then back to Italy.”
Percy took a deep breath.
“I don’t want you to go.”
Nico frowned. “You’ve lived without me for years, I’m sure you’ll be fine once I’m gone.”
His tone was light, but Percy could see the puzzlement in his eyes.
“I—” How could he possibly put it in words? He hated talking about feelings. “I like guys now. Not now. Always? I mean, I’ve realised I like guys too.”
Nico gave him a funny look. “No offence, but people have known this for quite a while.”
“What?”
“That is to say,” Nico backtracked. “You once described Luke as ‘the handsomest fucker I ever had to fight’, that wasn’t very straight.”
“Yeah, no, I see…”
Nico’s face softened. “I know it’s confusing. Trust me, I know well. But it’s okay,” he put a hand on Percy’s arm. “If you need to talk, I’m an IM away. Or a WhatsApp, they’re less trouble.”
Percy put his hand over Nico’s. “Thank you. But that’s not— Urgh, that’s not what I wanted to say.”
“No, it’s fine,” Nico said. “Sorry I ruined your coming out moment, I really thought we knew this collectively. I really need to stop speaking over people when they have important information.”
“That’s okay,” Percy started, but Nico was on a roll.
“Remember when Hazel was pregnant?” He shuddered. “Gods, it was embarrassing, I mean what kind of brother says, ‘Yeah, I know, you’ve been craving rhubarb and you hate rhubarb’? If God doesn’t send me to Hell over that one…”
“Nico…”
“But at least I didn’t ruin Reyna’s moment,” Nico continued. “I had no idea asexuality had a name although—”
“I like you ,” Percy blurted. “I mean, I think? I just…”
He wasn’t particularly articulated in his speech today, but at least it had shut up Nico.
Then again, not only had he become silent, Nico’s expression had closed off, too.
“What?”
“I don’t know!” Percy said. “I didn’t know you’d become hot, when did this happen?”
Nico blushed. “Listen, Perce, I’m flattered and all, but…”
“But what?” Percy said. “But you can’t because you’ve got some secret sexy Italian waiting for you at home? Because it’d be way too weird after our past? Because—?”
“Because I don’t feel that way about you anymore.”
Right, well… that didn’t go as planned. Which was just fine because there hadn’t been a plan to begin with.
“It’s too late,” Percy said. “Is that what you’re saying?”
Nico’s face —far from looking stoic, as Percy expected, or repulsed, as he’d feared— was anguished.
“It’s been almost fifteen years,” Nico said. “I don’t— I’m sorry. I’m sorry, I don’t know how to feel as I once did.”
Percy could accept that. Had to accept that.
“It’s okay,” he said, although he felt anything but. “I’m sorry I threw that at you out of the blue.”
Nico still looked upset. “I wish I could say something different.”
“You don’t have to feel guilty,” Percy assured him, hoping he’d make a joke about Catholic guilt and leave it at that.
But Nico shrugged.
“You’re the person I admire the most,” he stated. “Always have and always will. You’re so many things to me, Percy. But… I don’t— I don’t think I can ever love you again.”
Love you again.
There was a bitter taste to those words.
Again.
Percy felt as if he’d been told a joke and only caught the punchline a decade and a half later.
“It’ll be all right,” Nico told him, his eyes clear with honesty. “It hurts at first. But then… then you see there’s a whole lot to the world than just one person.”
Percy nodded. There wasn’t much else he could do. For the first time that evening he wanted to be alone.
Nico nodded back, but avoided touching him, which Percy appreciated.
“I’m sorry,” Nico repeated in a low voice. “I really am.”
With a last scratch behind Moncho’s ears —silly cat had appeared just to witness Percy’s embarrassing confession—, Nico was gone.

[📍] spider gang and their godly parents !!
Tumblr media
﹫ thread for entertainment, only. it’s just an analysis based on my vision of each cabin and their personality. don’t take anything personally.
﹫ i’ve been in the pjo book fandom for years so yea, it has nothing to do with the series (keep boycotting huh 🫵🏽).
﹫ if you disagree, i don’t wanna know /j.
ㅤ #ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ⟆ ׅ ◌ ׁ 𓆩͟𓆪 ׁ ֢ ⟅ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ
Tumblr media
☀️ miles morales ; son of apollo, 7
(second option: son of athena, cabin 6)
To me it’s obvious that Miles would be the son of Apollo, the god of the sun and art. I saw some people type him as Zeus’ son but, other than his electrical powers, he doesn’t carry any characteristics of Zeus. Miles is creative, artistic & passionate; main points found in the children of Apollo. People from this cabin tend to be bright and focused on their goals like their father, while also being extremely friendly and with a strong desire to help others. Apollo’s kids are driven by their artistic passion (whatever that may be) and, in Miles’ case, it’s his love for graffiti. He’s fearless, confident and loves expressing himself through his art, not being afraid to be who he is and much less accepting people determining how he should act. Miles likes freedom and is emotionally driven by his own morals and ideas for his future. Also being inclined towards protective behavior towards his loved ones.
Tumblr media
⚖️ margo kess ; daughter of athena, 6
(second option: doesn’t have)
This girl gives Annabeth’s vibes and I’m not going against it, ya feel me? Athena’s children are responsible, intelligent and organized, and a good example of this comes from how Margo has an important position within the Spider Society – a position given by Miguel himself, who we know is strict when recruiting spideys (poor miles). Margo has a sharp mind, making the right decisions under pressure and certainly having diligence for knowledge since coming from a universe like hers where everything is technology – she’s in fact very practical, determined and confident about her abilities.
Tumblr media
🏹 gwen stacy ; hunter of artemis, 8
(second option: daughter of nemesis, cabin 16)
I know what many will say now, “Gwen is Athena’s daughter!” but nuh huh. This girl definitely has nothing to do with the goddess of strategy. There’s a difference between wisdom & intelligence, and Gwen isn’t wise (at least not most of the time). She’s strongly driven by her personal ideas, her own sense of justice. Gwen doesn’t think before acting, unless the situation calls for it, because her original instinct is impulsiveness. Atsv shows this well, although not as much as I’d like. Gwen is extremely emotional, her feelings and how she feels are her pillars, and with that I have no doubt that she’d be a hunter of Artemis. Loyalty, courage, boldness, wit and a strong desire to protect those she loves because of the fear of losing them; all this compose her character.
Tumblr media
🌪️ hobie brown ; son of hermes, 11
(second option: doesn’t have)
Hermes is the jack-off-all trades and the master of many! His children are cunning and resourceful, and who’s more resourceful than Hobie himself? He’s the perceptive one in his group of friends, the one who observes everything and keeps important information. Children of Hermes also have comedian and prankster tendencies, and these characteristics are so obvious when Hobie mocks Peter B’s arising or Miguel’s anger at not being able to ignore him. He disregards rules, doesn’t fear authority figures, and encourages originality and recklessness. Like, this punk guy stole technology from the Spider Society and made his own watch, he’s the epitome of “doing things in my way” and no wonder he and Miles get along so well in the end 😭 Hermes & Apollo are befriends.
Tumblr media
🪷 pavitr prabhakar ; son of iris, 14
(second option: son of hebe, cabin 18)
SON OF THE RAINBOW GODDESS, YES! Iris’ children add color to people’s lives. They are independent, careful, friendly and natural confidants. Pav is the representation of Iris’s harmony and peacefulness, having a free spirit, living on his own terms and caring for those he loves. His individuality is what attracts the most attention and he ain’t afraid to defend what he believes in! One fact that I love about Pav is that he canonically helps stray dogs, which reminds me of the connection that children of Iris have with nature and animals in general. Despite my second choice in his godly parent, I have no doubt that he IS her son – the popular good character that everyone loves and is super charismatic and high spirits.
ㅤ # ㅤ/ㅤㅤbonus characters.
Tumblr media
⚙️ miles g ; son of hephaestus, 9
(second option: song of hades, cabin 13)
I know, I know. You guys thought of Hades for Miles G and I don’t blame y’all. It was also my first option while analyzing him. But thinking about it further, Hephaestus has a lot more to do with 42 and that’s brilliant. Children of Hephaestus are hard-working and resourceful, but they are also kind and helpful. Feelings are difficult for them, and their interactions are often mission impossible, but they do their best. I’ve already said here that to me, Miles G is just a little more reclusive and introspective, but nothing denies me that he continues to have the same playful behavior as 1610 – the only difference is who he directs this behavior towards. Probably shy, but doesn’t show it. Still, he has all the stubbornness and temper of his father, and he needs that when he’s The Prowler.
Tumblr media
💞 gayatri singh ; daughter of aphrodite, 10
(second option: doesn’t have)
Who better to be Gayatri’s godly parent than the goddess of love, beauty and passion? Unfortunately, Gayatri didn’t have enough screen time to me to talk as much about her as I did with the others, but from what little we had I know this girl has a kind and loving nature, seeing the best in others (the perfect match for Pav, I love them!) Children of Aphrodite are empathetic, gracious, and often the advisors of their friends. They tend to talk about feelings and teach emotional intelligence and empathy – Gayatri seems to be all of that. Not to mention she’s so beautiful! No wonder she’s canonically a model, a common career for Aphrodite’s children.
Tumblr media
🌙 E-42 tiana toomes ; daughter of hecate, 20
(second option: doesn’t have)
I could never leave my girl out because I love her and for me, Tiana exists on earth 42 (and this drawing of her was done by an oomfie of mine). Hecate is the goddess of magic, her children are described as kind and helpful, but incredibly calculated and mysterious. To me it suits her so much, because I imagine 42 Tiana as a stubborn but intelligent and independent teenage girl. She does what she wants and doesn’t care about other people’s thoughts. 42 Tiana is firm in her values, her worldview is unique and can be frightening to others, but she ain’t afraid to achieve her goals. Hecate also represents a greater connection with our femininity.
Tumblr media
🔱 ganke lee ; son of poseidon, 3
(second option: doesn’t have)
It was extremely difficult for me to determine Ganke’s Olympian parent 💀. But I finally came to a conclusion and I feel like he’s definitely my half brother lol. Another character who doesn’t have much to talk about, but taking into account his personality in the comics and his somewhat sassy attitude, I feel that Poseidon is a good option. Ganke is helpful and well-intentioned, and his dedication to his friendship with Miles reminds me a little of Percy & Grover. I like my choice, because Miles admires him a lot and that’s an effect that most of Poseidon’s children have on people.
Tumblr media
🥊 em jay watson ; daughter of ares, 5
(second option: doesn’t have)
“you’ve got an ego and a temper, but you’re a good person.” There’s no better phrase than that to describe a daughter of Ares. I know some will stay ?? since Ares is the god of war, but trust me when I say that not all his children are bad. Anyway, Em Jay reminds me a lot of Clarisse, and that alone makes me sure that there’s no other cabin for her other than Ares. Even though atsv doesn’t have any content about her (or about The Mary Janes), I decided to take her canonical personality from the Spider-Gwen comics into consideration to add her here. Em Jay is arrogant, temperamental and self-centered; she’s impulsive and not afraid of the consequences, no wonder she and Gwen are always racking their brains when they’re alone for more than five minutes. She has all the determination and extremely short fuse of a typical children of Ares, always looking for a fight or someone to blame for things (poor Gwen). Still, Em Jay is loyal and protective, but only with those she truly cares about – which is another strong characteristic in her, although this can create problems as her lack of empathy with other people becomes very obvious. I have no doubt that she’s his legitimate daughter.
Tumblr media
🌆 glory grant ; daughter of nyx, 27
(second option: doesn’t have)
Only those who really like pjo (or Greek mythology at all) know who Nyx is, and I ain’t going to lie that it took me a long time to think about Glory’s cabin since none of the other 20 seemed to match with her. Well, Nyx doesn’t have a cabin in canon either (not that I remember), but I like to think she does so here we are. In my little mind the children of Nyx are quiet but authoritative. They don’t realize when they’re being bossy. They don’t like little jokes, they appreciate silence and are always putting reason before emotion. For me, E-65 Glory is exactly like that. Maybe my memory is weak 😭 but Glory has always been the voice of reason between The Mary Janes, the most serious of all and the one that keeps Em Jay and Gwen from killing each other. I think that’s why Nyx seems like a good choice, since she’s like a mother, and the only one who can truly scare even Zeus.
Tumblr media
💤 betty brant ; daughter of hypnos, 15
(second option: doesn’t have)
Quiet and calm. That’s the feeling that E-65 Betty from atsv gives me, although in the comics she’s not exactly like that. But as this is a hc then she’s the daughter of Hypnos, the god of sleep. People in this cabin are wise, but inattentive and detached from their surroundings, that person who doesn’t see something that’s right under their nose because they’re too busy concentrating on a specific spot in the corner of the room. Betty seems to be a fun procrastinator, who makes difficult jokes, but who still gets a laugh from her friends not because the joke was good, but because the way she tells it ends up being funny. Children of Hypnos have a very small group of friends, they’re generally slow minds, but good listeners and a comic relief. They’ve a calming influence on people.
ㅤ #ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ⟆ ׅ ◌ ׁ 𓆩͟𓆪 ׁ ֢ ⟅ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ
๑ I posted this thread on my Twitter @/cybermarsbar, but I’m posting it here too since Tumblr gives me better freedom when writing. Not to mention it was an opportunity to write something for my girls, The Mary Janes, as we have very little content about them 😞🤞🏽.
๑ Sorry for any mistakes. English ain’t my first language so I make grammar typos. If you see any, let me know, please! xoxo

Omg please hades son Oscar is what I need. He’s friends with Lando and they are the duo that everyone is scared of in camp cause they are children of the big three but in reality Oscar is really calm and very self-aware when it comes to his powers. Well Lando not so much because he likes the fact he’s so powerful, unlike Oscar. But Oscar always tries to control him as much as he can and it works. I can so see Max coming into camp later and he’s super insecure and guarded because of that. But the two warm their way into his heart eventually and now kids worry not only about Hades’ and Poseidon’s sons but also Zeus’. They are the new big three however their father don’t like it.
Oscar would date Demeter’s daughter and they are the perfect balance to each other. She’s life and he’s death and it’s just the way it was always supposed to be. I can see Lando dating Hades’ daughter so well basically Oscar’ sister and when Oscar finds out it’s the only time he looses control and maybe they have this epic fight that ends in half of the camp destroyed and them hugging each other in the end because it’s stupid to fight they can just talk it out (they can’t. Oscar just has to deal with it). Who would Max date??? I can maybe see Athena’s daughter? It fits I think.
Or well Charles. Charles is always a good idea
tbh i kinda want the big 3 kids to be only children like in the percy jackson series bc it adds a lil extra drama to be forbidden children, plus w lando as a poseidon kid i kinda want him w an athena daughter to keep up w the stupid boy/smart girl dynamic that percy and annabeth have because its sooo cute. my fav
if oscar had a sister, and lando dated her, there wouldn't even be a chance a fight, oscar would open the ground up and send him straight down to daddy. gf standing off to the side like 😦 did you just- did you just send my bf to hell? and oscar’s like oops sorry, i passively thought that i wished the ground would swallow him whole when i saw you holding hands but i didn’t expect it to happen? everyone in camp is staring down the ravine going through camp and then looking to oscar with fear in their eyes and he’s just like ): dont look at me like that im sure he’ll be back soon. my dad will get sick of him real quick.
lando’s in hades's realm playing fetch with cerebus and chatting up old spirits. hades pissed because some idiot is distracting his guard dog again. few hours goes by and lando appears in the middle of camp, a little dirty from his impromptu dive underground, but okay. gf doting on him and oscar's sick of it but doesn't make the world eat him again.
could also work w a lil love triangle/thrupple moment where oscar and her are best friends and he's hopelessly in love w her but thinks he has no shot and then he sees her and lando flirting and next thing you know a hole is opening under lando's feet and he's got a one way ticket to visit hades.
i could see max with a daughter of aphrodite, he’s normally very confident bc he’s so strong, once he settles into the camp all the girls are crushing on him and he flirts w them all so easily except for her. any other child of aphrodite yea sure pretty or whatever. but he sees her like picking berries with oscar’s gf from demeter and just stops and stares and oscar is like “y’know my girl can put in a good word for you!” and max gets all flustered and is like “im a son of zues, i don’t need help picking up girls.” oscar daring him to go talk to her if he doesn’t need help, and max doesn’t back down from any challenge so he goes to talk to her. he gets a few steps away and forgets how to speak, the rehearsed lines fade away and he’s turning around just before he gets to them. he rushes back to oscar like, okay yeah. maybe ask her to put in a good word. he goes so stupid around her and all he can think ab is how pretty she is, how nice the sound of her voice is, how pillowy her lips look.
or we talked about a nemesis child, max could date a child of nemesis and she’s sooo protective over him and will fuck w anyone who bothers him. someone makes an offhand remark about him and they have bad luck for a week. injures him sparring and they get hurt twice as bad by their next opponent. her and him flying together, holding hands and zipping through the clouds, her with actual wings and him just using the wind.

percabeth arranged marriage plssssssssssss!
in which percy and annabeth kind of end up in an arranged marriage, but also not really
“No.”
Piper gives Annabeth a seething look. “I wasn’t asking, actually.”
“Can you, like, not?”
“Annabeth, please.”
Annabeth presses her face into the palms of her hands with a groan. Her elbows ache against the table, but it’s not as bad as looking into the puppy-dog eyes facing her.
“All I’m asking is for you to go out with him,” she pleads. “Just one date. It’s not the end of the world. I’m begging you.”
“Beg all you want. I don’t go on dates with strangers.”
Piper laughs, prompting Annabeth to lift her head to glare at the other girl. “Since when has that been a rule? He’s my friend, and he’s nice. He already said yes. One date.”
It’s the last thing Annabeth wants to do. Piper has a history of setting her friends up, and that history involves none of them going particularly well. They might not end in restraining orders, or at least most of them don’t, but she’s heard enough stories to know that she definitely shouldn’t trust whoever is on the other side of Piper’s plan. She’d managed to escape Piper’s attempts at setting her up in the past, but after the last few months where Piper had gotten a girlfriend, Piper’s grip on trying to find Annabeth someone has strengthened tenfold.
“No.”
“Why?”
“Because it’s awkward,” Annabeth hisses. “I don’t need you to set me up, or…or fulfill whatever arranged marriage plans you have set up. I’m begging here, on my hands and knees, for you to leave me alone.”
Piper fumbles through her jacket pocket, reaching for her phone. Annabeth eyes the jacket. She thinks it’s her own.
“It could be fun,” Piper says, tilting the phone in her direction. “One hour is all I’m asking.”
Annabeth can see how this is going to go.
There’s not really any way for her to wiggle her way out of this one. The only thing that could possibly work is Annabeth admitting that she’s already seeing someone, though seeing someone is a loose term and it’s something that she doesn’t dare to admit. It would mean spilling details about her late night movements, and while Annabeth’s never been one to withhold those sorts of things from her best friend, it’s still a tiny bit mortifying.
“Don’t scare him away, please.”
Annabeth doesn’t grace her with an answer.
As she sits on a vacant bench later that night, stifling the tremble in her legs from the piercing winter air, she wonders if this is considered cheating. They’re not technically in a relationship, she doesn’t think. They’ve never talked about exclusivity, but they also don’t do much talking at all. Their relationship mostly consists of his lips tickling against her neck, her breathless gasps filling the quiet of the room, except for his teasing knowing chuckle that follows soon after. Still, though she’d never admit it, she’s kind of in love with the way they lay together, her neck resting against his arm, his other hand tangled with hers, resting against her stomach to feel the subtle rise and fall until she drifts off to sleep. She loves him and his lopsided smile, and she wants to keep him under the tips of her fingers forever. She doesn’t want to sit on a bench in the winter, waiting for a face that will never live up to the one that haunts her late night fantasies.
Annabeth’s looking down when someone’s foot knocks against hers. She smiles at the face.
“It’s a bit early to be making your way to my apartment,” Percy teases. He knocks her foot again but takes a seat beside her. Annabeth can’t bring herself to be worried that Piper’s date is going to appear when he’s pressing a kiss to her cheek. His nose is cold against her flushed cheeks, but she smiles into it. He kisses her dimple this time. “What are you doing out?”
Annabeth twiddles her gloved thumbs. “It’s a long story.”
He looks around, leaning against the brick wall behind them. His arm snakes its way around her back. She can’t stop herself from leaning into his side and shoving her own cold nose into the skin of his neck. “I’ve got a bit, I think. I’m supposed to be meeting someone.”
She hums.
They fall into silence.
It’s nice being out with him, even if they’re sitting on a chipping wood bench waiting for separate people. She doesn’t say it out loud, but she doesn’t want to leave. She doesn’t want him to leave either.
“Who are you meeting?” she asks softly, bumping his shoulder.
“I’m not entirely sure,” he says. He tightens his grip on her, shoving his nose into the top of her head. She feels his smile. “It’s a long story.”
She lazily shoves him and lifts her head. “Mockery isn’t cute.”
“It is when you look at me like that,” he murmurs, touching his nose to hers. “All pouty and adorable.”
She wants their late nights, and so much more.
“Don’t try to distract me from the fact that you’re going on a date,” she chides softly.
Beneath his coat is an outfit that’s too put together for him to just be taking a walk to the grocery store. The same goes for her, and she wonders what he thinks of it.
She can’t blame him. They’re not exclusive. It’s not like she’s seeing anyone else, but he’s allowed to, even if it makes her stomach bubble uncomfortably. She doesn’t like the thought of someone else getting to see him the way she does, and god, she never should’ve agreed to Piper’s plans if it meant that he’d think she doesn’t want him the way that she does.
“It’s not my fault! My friend is making me. I swear I tried to get out of it.”
She gives him a playful look, drowning disappointment out. “It’s okay. You’re allowed to see other people.”
Percy tangles his fingers in her hair. “Who says I want to?”
“You’re sitting here waiting for them.”
“I’m sitting here with you,” he laughs. “I’m going to murder Piper.”
And Annabeth stifles a smile by biting her lip. Of course.
“So you’re telling me that this date,” she starts, “you have no interest in going in?”
“Not at all.”
“You don’t want to hold the girls hand and take her to dinner? Maybe even take her home afterwards? Not even the slightest?”
“I can’t say I do.”
“Not even if she’s, I don’t know…blonde? Grey eyes? Sitting on a bench waiting for her date?”
Percy smiles. “No way.”
Annabeth matches his grin. “What are we supposed to tell Piper? She’s going to have a stroke if we tell her we’ve been sleeping together for months.”
“She doesn’t need to know,” Percy says, eyes sparkling. “We can tell her the date went great, and pretend we just met.”
“Keep it a secret forever?”
“She’ll think she arranged our marriage.”
Annabeth laughs, and Percy kisses the tip of her nose. “She’ll never let it up.”
“It would make a great story to tell at our wedding.”
“Wedding?” Annabeth grins. “We haven’t even gone on a proper date.”
“Then let’s go.” He stands up, and holds a hand out to her. “I have reservations waiting for us, and a perfect route to walk around the city. If you’re lucky, I might even take you back to my apartment later.”
“I seem to recall you saying you didn’t want to do any of that.”
“Lies,” Percy says. “You have no proof.”
Annabeth takes his hand. “This might be the best arranged marriage in existence.”
(She’s right).

ah yes, fan cast Thalia with the girl who steals every white girl role in the last three years purrrr
Interesting…
So I’d be curious to know if you also feel the same way about Leah Jeffries portrayal as Annabeth? If you can find a quote from any of the RiordanVerse books where Thalia being white is an important factor I’ll apologize and change my ways?
The actor (RIP) whom played Zeus was a black man, so would it not be a tad more disrespectful to fancast someone not a poc to play a poc child?
Also are all roles designated for a certain skin color, I can understand if it is central to the plot and about who they are as a character why it should be a certain race or ethnicity portraying the character, but however this is a story about Greek mythology and their made up modern day kids. None of the current cast completely and some don’t even remotely look like how they were being describing in the books, it’s about if the actor can portray the character correctly. That means their mannerisms, their sense of humor, their pride or whatever it is.
It’s not an actors job to look like the character, but to act like the character

My reactions, thoughts, and predictions that I had while reading Percy Jackson: The Titan's Curse. At least the ones I bothered to write down. Spoilers below the cut. Also, fair warning, this one is way longer than either of my previous reaction posts. I had a lot of thoughts.
EDIT: part 1, part 2, part 4, part 5
I feel I should mention that the Percy Jackson books have objectively the best chapter titles
The mental image of Sally driving Percy and his friends to get their ass beat like it's just an after-school sports club is hilarious to me
Ooh, Thalia has hypnosis wind
So Thalia didn't age while she was in that tree? Because I remember she was much older than Annabeth at the time of her death, but now she, Annabeth and Percy are all the same age. Huh. Okay then.
NICO DI ANGELO!!! I've heard about you! You're gay! And he has a sister! Oh I am delighted and ready to love them!
Thalia insulting Grover's music taste.
ANNABETH IS TALLER THAN PERCY
Aww, Nico defending his sister.
OH SHIT, IS THORN A MANTICORE??!???!!
"They're not dolls! They're figurines!" Sure, sweetie.
CALLED IT
Bianca is great.
Oh my God, Nico, you beautiful nerd! XD
HUNTING HORN?!!?!!! SILVERY ARROWS?!!?!??? IS IT ARTEMIS?!!!! PLEASE TELL ME ITS ARTEMIS!!!!!
HOLY FUCK, ARTEMIS'S HUNTERS!!!!!!!
Zoë Nightshade is easily the most badass name I've ever heard in my life.
ARTEMIS!!!!!!!
Please tell me Annabeth is okay. I will not be okay until I know that she is
Oh my God, Nico! XD Also, chill, Percy, he's just a baby.
"Besides, I hear they rebuilt the cabins you burned down." Excuse me, what?!
Percy, leave Bianca be! Besides, you don't even know her! She can be a badass warrior hunter lady if she wants. What even are your hang-ups about Artemis's hunters? They saved your life.
Oh, wait, that's right. Camp Half-Blood needs more people to keep it protected. That's right.
Good for you, Bianca, but I can't say that I would ever leave my little brother to become an immortal virgin. No offense to them, but girl, your brother needs you. You may have a new family, but you're all he's got.
Oh, I love Artemis calling Apollo her annoying brother. Do we get to see them interact? I pray that we do.
Grover simping for Artemis is so valid.
Thalia thinking Apollo’s hot is so valid.
Apollo being an obnoxious kind-of hippy going through an anime phase is the greatest idea anyone has ever had. He's so stupid, I love him.
Apollo's comment about pretty girls turning into plants reminded me of the myth about the time where one of his boyfriends turned into a flower after he died. Hyacinthus. Because we cannot forget that Apollo is canonically bisexual. If Rick Riordan doesn't (at some point) acknowledge how gay ancient Greek mythology is, I'm going to riot.
Dating must be really weird at Camp Half-Blood. And between demi-gods in general, right? Because, technically speaking, they're all kind of related to each other. I guess it just works differently since the gods aren't human, so there's not the same case to be made about genetics and the potential for incest. Or maybe that only applies to kids who have the same god parent. Like how Percy sees Tyson as his brother. I’m wondering if the kids from other cabins feel the same way. Like, do kids from different cabins consider themselves siblings? Does Annabeth see the other kids from Athena’s cabin as her siblings? What does the dating scene even look like at Camp Half-Blood? Is it considered scandalous to date other members of your own cabin? Or do some people think it’s taboo or whatever to date other demigods in general? I don’t need sleep, I need answers!
Ohhh. Okay. So apparently Thalia has aged while she was in the tree, just very slowly. So if Percy is 14 and Thalia can pass as an 8th grader like him, and she should be somewhere between 12 and 19, if I had to hazard a guess, I'd say she's about 15 or 16.
Oh, hey, I was right. Thanks, Apollo.
Aww, poor Thalia. Lol. I was the exact same way when I drove for the first time. Literally had a panic attack on the spot, and I wasn't even controlling the Earth's temperature.
Yay, Tyson! I was worried we wouldn’t see him again until, like, the last book or something.
Aww, it’s so sweet that Tyson wants to see Annabeth. And it’s adorable how cool he thinks she is.
Wow, Luke really is an unbelievable bastard. Annabeth is smart, she was smart to question him, but when the rocks started to fall, her instincts drove her to protect Luke, because even though he’s an unbelievable bastard, Annabeth still can’t help but harbor positive feelings for her. For the longest time, he was family to her and she loved him, so of course those feelings are still there, even if she knows it’s illogical.
Wait. Annabeth is holding up the ceiling of a cave, which Percy acknowledges that she shouldn’t be able to do. So… is the cave ceiling actually the sky? Like how, in Greek mythology, the sky is held up by the titan Atlas? In the mythology, Heracles trades places with Atlas holding up the sky while Atlas helps Heracles complete one of his twelve labors, and when Atlas is about to leave, Heracles tricks Atlas into taking back the sky before bolting. Like how Luke tricked Annabeth into holding up the cave ceiling before leaving her alone to hold it by herself.
Okay, Grover, chill out with the stalking, bud.
I guess Grover and Annabeth take turns getting damsel-ed. Last book was Grover’s turn and this book is Annabeth’s turn.
Don’t worry, Percy, I forgot about that scarf too.
Okay, not liking how the Hunters are portrayed. Because when Artemis says to give up love, she only means romantic love, which is clearly not the only kind of love. Greek mythology practically invented the concept of differentiating and identifying different kinds of love. The Hunters should know that, but the way they act towards the other campers is really… I dunno, gross? They act like their way of life is the only way that matters, which is super fucked up coming from the people that follow Artemis.
“I wondered if there was any way I’d looked that ridiculous when I’d first arrived.” Percy, that was literally only two years ago, get off your high fucking horse. XD
Thalia static-shocking people when she’s annoyed is golden and I love her.
Oh, fuck.
OH, FUCK!
Oh, we love the prophecies… Yayyyy.
Okay, guessing time. Artemis is chained to a rock, which immediately made me think of Prometheus, the titan that gifted fire to humanity and was punished by Zeus to be chained to a rock and have an eagle eat his liver every day for eternity. But then the Oracle mentioned that one must withstand “The Titan’s Curse,” which could be another reference to Prometheus, but I don’t think so. Because in the myth, Heracles killed the eagle and freed Prometheus from his punishment, so I’m pretty sure it’s not that, but you never know. Then I remembered Annabeth and my prediction that she’s currently holding up the sky like the titan Atlas, and the Oracle said that “one must withstand.” Admittedly, my knowledge of Atlas and his mythos is shaky at best, and I don't remember him ever having a "curse", but I guess holding up the entire sky is about as "cursed" as it's possible to be. And the Oracle saying that “one must withstand” makes me think that something happened to Atlas, so now someone needs to hold the sky in his place or else the sky will collapse to the earth and the world will end, or something like that. So that’s my prediction, that someone will need to hold up the sky in Atlas’s place for the rest of, well, forever. I don’t have a guess as to who it could be, though.
Also, someone is apparently going to die. And be killed by their god parent. Awesome… Super looking forward to that inevitable heartbreak… I hope it’s not either of the di Angelo kids, but they’re both new characters, and I know Nico becomes more important later (purely by accident and through pop culture osmosis), and since I had no idea that Biance even existed until I started reading this book, I am terrified that that means Bianca is going to die. I pray that I am wrong.
Wow, Thalia is petty and I’m kind of living for it.
I love that the Stoll brothers are basically Greek Fred and George Weasley.
Wow, Zoë’s kind of a bitch. She won’t travel with Percy because he’s a boy, and apparently Grover doesn’t count as a boy because he’s a satyr. Super fucked up.
You know, Artemis did have male Hunters. It didn’t happen often in the mythology, but there was a pretty famous male Hunter of Artemis named Hippolytus. The thing about Artemis’s Hunters isn’t that men weren’t allowed to be Hunters, it’s just that men typically didn’t choose to be Hunters, because one of the reasons why Artemis’s Hunters joined her in the first place is because Artemis protected the women in her care from the sexist constraints placed on them by Greek society at the time. The reason why men didn’t typically become Hunters is because they didn’t need the same kind of protection and escape from Greek society that women did. And Artemis didn’t hate men on principal, she hated the fact that men were the ones who used their positions of power to discriminate against and abuse the women in their society.
Aww. Grover’s such a sweetheart.
I love Sally.
Percy has so many damn Dreams™ and nightmares I have to wonder if this kid ever sleeps.
Apparently Percy knows the names of the pegasi, which is adorable to me. And this one is apparently Blackjack, which is a great name for a horse.
Aww, I want a baby serpent cow.
Aww, Nico. He's precious and I love him. Protect this child at all costs
Oh, I know about Ariadne. Theseus ditched her on an island after she helped him navigate the labyrinth and kill the minotaur. That's how she met Dionysus. I'm pretty sure they got married not too long after.
Aww, Dionysus and Ariadne are still married. That'd be kind of sweet if Dionysus wasn't such an asshole.
Yup, I know about Medea too.
Did they really just give Dionysus the Snape treatment? He hates all heroes on principle because one of them was cruel to his wife? He thinks he’s justified in harassing children because they’re training to be heroes, and he thinks that all heroes suck? Wow, dude. Get a life.
Oh, cool, Bianca’s forgetting things now. Nothing sketchy or sinister about that, I’m sure.
Is the General the titan Atlas? If my earlier theory was right, then he's gotta be.
Excuse me, teeth?! Plant them?!
Oh, wait! I think I know what that’s talking about. In Jason’s myth, he had to yoke a field with the teeth of (if memory serves) fire-breathing oxen. I don’t remember what planting the teeth did, but I’m guessing it wasn’t anything good.
HAH! Saber-toothed tiger kitties popped out
The General talks about mortals the same way I talk about fanfiction and anime
OH FUCK THE NEMEAN LION
“Sometimes mortals can be more horrible than monsters.” Truth.
Wait… what’s going on with Bianca? There’s something fucky going on with her memory.
“‘Bianca,’ Zoë said. ‘How long ago…’ Her voice faltered.” FOR FUCK’S SAKE, RICK!
Ain’t no way this friendly homeless guy isn’t some kind of hell monster.
Oh. I stand corrected. Not a hell monster. Probably a god. The gods love disguising themselves as old people to test mortals
The Mountain of Despair. Sounds fun. I wonder if this is the mountain Prometheus was chained to, since it’s powered by titan magic and all that.
Ladon… I know that name. I recognize that, but I can’t for the life of me remember his myth or anything about him.
*in reference to one of Percy's dreams* Oh, wait. Is this Jason and Medea?
Oh, nope. It was Zoë. I figured she had some kind of bad break with a boyfriend or something, but I dismissed it at first because I figured she was too young. But I guess if she was around during ancient Greek times, that sort of thing doesn’t matter.
Oh, hey! I once visited Cloudcroft, New Mexico! It was a nice little place.
“I was never very comfortable talking one-on-one with girls anyway…” Okay, Percy, you and I both know that is a lie. Annabeth is, like, your best friend.
"'Bianca,' I said. 'That hotel you stayed at. Was it possibly called the Lotus Hotel and Casino?'" Oh no.
Seventy years?!
Oh, fuck.
99% sure Aphrodite is the one in the car.
WAIT, HOLD UP! IF BIANCA AND NICO WERE BORN MORE THAN 70 YEARS AGO, THAT MEANS THEY WERE BORN BEFORE THE BIG 3'S OATH, RIGHT?! SO DOES THAT MEAN MY THEORY ABOUT HADES BEING THEIR GOD PARENT IS RIGHT?!?!??!! OHHHHHHH, SHIIIIIITTTTT
"When she smiled at me, just for a moment she looked a little like Annabeth." AHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Aphrodite is the patron goddess of shippers.
What the hell, Aphrodite, chill, lady.
"You act like it was real." Percy, this is Greek mythology. Every single star/constellation was either a person or an animal before this whole mess.
"It... it was for Nico. It was the only statue he didn't have." OH MY GOD!! ToT
"If anything happens, give that to Nico. Tell him... tell him I'm sorry." WHY??!!?!?? LITERALLY DON'T!!!!!
"Here we were in the desert. And Bianca di Angelo was gone." WHAT THE FUCK?!!??!!! WHY DO YOU HATE ME!???!!??
No, but please tell me she's not dead. The prophecy just said "lost", not dead. And there's no body, so she could still be alive. Rick hasn't killed anybody yet, Bianca cannot be the first. I refuse.
The Hesperides! That's why Ladon sounded so familiar! He was the dragon!
"'But--' Gurgle, gurgle, the naiad spoke in my mind." RICK!!!!!! FINISH YOUR GODDAMN SCENES FOR ONCE!!!!! THIS IS THE KIND OF STRESS AND ANTICIPATION THAT MAKES PEOPLE LOSE HAIR!!!!
I like that Grover, Percy and Thalia actually listened to Annabeth ramble about her special interest enough that they can just recall random facts like that. It's an adorable little friendship detail, but also fucking sad. I miss Annabeth.
Hah. "Dam". Let these kids swear. They deserve it.
"'Nah,' I said. 'Not that high.'" Aww, Percy's a good friend.
Hah. Statue fucking.
Oh no! Is Bessie the monster! No! But she's so cute!
PLEASE DON'T KILL THE BABY COW SNAKE
"'This is Atlas's mountain,' Zoë said." LET'S FUCKING GOOOOOOO
"'Yes,' Zoë said bleakly. 'Atlas is my father.'" THE GAME JUST FUCKING CHANGED
*after finishing chapter 18* ......... Fuck, man.
Wait, why isn't Hades a part of the Twelve Olympians? And why haven't we heard any mention of Demeter's demigod children? I can't remember the last time the Demeter Cabin was even mentioned, if it ever was.
Well, I guess Thalia joining the Hunters is a pretty roundabout way to have the prophecy be about Percy.
"But I will be watching, Percy Jackson. I do not approve of your friendship with my daughter." Well, then you're gonna hate what happens later.
Aww. Percy and Annabeth have matching battle scars. Sort of. Still sweet.
Oh, no, Nico.... Baby.....
"It was a statue of Hades, Lord of the Dead." OH FUCKING SHIT
"A son of Hades." OH FUCKING SHIT
HOLY SHIT, PAN HAS ENTERED THE CHAT

“that moment where your character just… looks. just looks at their love interest for more than five seconds and doesn’t understand why or how this earth can exist and the sun and moon exist and the sky can be an eternal source of happiness and yet this person right here can bring so much more warmth and comfort to them with just a single glance” you wld do this SOOOOOO well (as you wld all of them but this one has me w my head in my hands)
cicada my beloved happy happy bday i know this isn't exactly what u said but i tried hope it helps <3333
Annabeth really does not want to be having this conversation right now.
“I’m just saying,” If Silena has registered her disinterest, she doesn’t let it affect her flow. “It wouldn’t hurt. Besides, he owes you a date anyway, so you might as well, right?”
“It wasn’t a date.” Annabeth complains and Clarisse barks out a hearty laugh, leaning back against the stone steps in the amphitheatre and taking a sip of water. Annabeth scowls. “What? It wasn’t! We were supposed to catch a movie but he’s, like, totally into this other girl.”
“Is she pretty?”
“Kind of.” Annabeth thinks about it. “She’s got freckles. I suppose that’s pretty.”
“So you’re jealous.” Silena concludes. “Which means you totally like Percy, and therefore, coming back to my original point– you should ask him to the fireworks.”
Annabeth is not impressed, but it’s harder to wear it on her face when she’s spending all this effort fighting the outrageous heat that’s creeping up to her cheeks. “I don’t like Percy. He’s like– he’s like this thorn in my side.”
“He’s an idiot.” Clarisse agrees. Then she tilts her head to the side and considers it. “But I’d say you were more a pain in his ass than the other way around.”
“No way.” Silena shakes her head, interrupting before Annabeth could voice her outrage. “Annabeth’s right. He’s worse.”
“Annabeth is bossy.” Clarisse challenges.
“Percy is hyper-argumentative.” Silena counters.
“Annabeth is a hothead.”
“So is Percy.”
“Annabeth–”
“Hey!” Annabeth cuts in. “Annabeth can hear you, you know? And she doesn’t like what she’s hearing.”
“Fine. Then scram.” Clarisse kicks her ankle lightly with hers. “This practice session was a spectacular waste of time. We got no sparring done and if a war does come to us, I’m pretty sure Silena’s going to be the first to die.”
“Excuse me.” Silena turns on Clarisse then, holding up her perfectly manicured hands. “I happen to be gifted with these nails. You don’t know the damage I can do, La Rue.”
“Your acrylics  versus the Lord of Time. Interesting.” Clarisse pretends to think about it. “Let’s hope Annabeth kills the Prophecy Kid this summer so none of us have to deal with that coming to fruition.”
“Whatever. Give me two weeks and I’ll kick your ass with a spear.”
“I’d like to see you try.”
Even as Annabeth sits between her friends, she feels herself drifting away– as if the scene in front of her is already becoming a memory; as if this is one of those moments she’ll revisit every so often as she moves forward– like she stood on the precipice of the End of something, even if she doesn’t know what yet.
“Annabeth.” A man’s voice draws her out of her thoughts. All three girls turn around to see Quintus standing over them, Percy only a few steps behind him. He peers around their sword fighting teacher to meet Annabeth’s eye, his lips quirking upwards slightly, and her heart somersaults. “I was hoping you and Percy could give me a hand– clean out the armoury for me?”
“It’s my time off.” Annabeth whines. Why is Percy always dragging her into sharing his chores with him?
“Come on, Wise Girl.” Percy matches her tone. “Two pairs of hands are better than one, right?”
“I hate you.” Annabeth grumbles, taking Quintus’ hand and letting him pull her off the ground. Silena wriggles her eyebrows at her and Clarisse smirks, so when their teacher’s back is turned to her, Annabeth flips them off. It does little to subdue them, though, because their cackles echo through the amphitheatre long after she’s left.
“What is this?” Percy pulls out a wicked blade attached to the end of a long, heavy stick. “Oh my gods, is this a javelin? I didn’t even realise we had them here.”
“Yeah,” Annabeth snorts. “As if you could fight with one of those.”
“You calling me weak?”
“I’m just saying that your arms are kind of skinny.”
“You’re one to talk.” Percy cries. There’s something so endearing about the indignation on his face that Annabeth bursts out laughing. Sometimes it’s like Percy does it deliberately– knows exactly how to behave to make uncontrollable giggles bubble in her tummy. If he notices, he doesn’t pay mind to it, instead focusing on clearing the nearest table and resting his elbow on the surface. He looks up at her, unspoken challenge framing his features in a special kind of light. “I’m way stronger than you– so only come here if you’re willing to lose.”
“As if.” Annabeth rolls her eyes, taking his hand and grinding her bony elbow painfully into the wood. Percy’s eyes leave hers, drifting to their hands, his fingers curled tightly around hers, and she doesn’t miss the way his breathing stutters slightly. An unattractive smugness fights its way to her lips. Maybe Silena was right– she could totally ask him to the fireworks– but right now, she has other priorities. She leans forward. “You’re going to get beaten by a girl, Seaweed Brain.”
“Oh yeah?” Percy, as always, matches her exact energy, narrowing his eyes and lowering his voice. “Joke’s on you, I’m used to it.”
Annabeth grins. “Good.”
“Okay, on three.” Percy says. “One, two–”
The back of his hand crashes into the table. For a moment, he looks confused, blinking at their still entwined hands resting on the wooden surface. Slowly, his grip tightens around her palm, his smooth features twisting into a scowl.
“You cheated.” He says, dangerously quiet. Then he pushes back against her hand until he can pin it down. Annabeth struggles to pull away, but it’s like fighting against iron.
“Let go.” She laughs, but Percy doesn’t budge. The same evil part of her that cheated crows. “Percy, stop.”
“No. You cheated. You have to pay.” Percy’s face breaks into a grin, his shining eyes bright in the dimly lit glorified cupboard they’re stuck in. In a flash, he’s on her side of the table, his fingers digging into her sides, and a squeal escapes her.
“Percy!” Annabeth feels her knees giving way as she drops to the floor, taking her friend down with her. When he finally does stop tickling her, she’s out of breath, her cheeks sore from the laughter. Next to her, Percy leans his head against the leg of the table, his face flushed and his chest heaving, a manic smile on his lips.
“You’re such an asshole, Annabeth.” He doesn’t sound offended by it.
Instead of replying, Annabeth is content to watch him catch his breath, leftover laughter still breaking out from him in throaty splits. Miraculously, his hair is even messier now than it was this morning, but Annabeth thinks it suits him. His lips are parted, and for a second, she wonders what it might be like to be able to lean over and kiss him. She’s never kissed a boy before– but Silena and Clarisse have, and they both seem to enjoy it a ton. For a while in the winter, she’d considered kissing one of the boys at Camp, but they’re all gross. She wonders if she’d like kissing Percy.
It’s like that a lot. Ever since the winter, when he’d admitted that he’d only gone on a quest to save her– Annabeth had found it difficult to even think about him without her stomach exploding into a kaleidoscope of butterflies. Now that he’s back at Camp, back with her– she’s starting to realise just how much more she likes him than anybody else around here. This isn’t how she felt about Luke, not how she felt about any of the boys she’d had a crush on before. With Percy, she’s come to realise, everything is different.
How is it possible, Annabeth finds herself wondering, that she exists in this world at the same time that he does? He’d come into her life, a whirlwind of grief and anger and adventure and something she doesn’t want to dwell on– and he’d healed her, inside and out. Not by trying; not by finding all her broken pieces– but simply by existing. Percy lives, and Annabeth is better for it. He lives, and the sun above them dims, the moon loses her brilliance, the colours in the world dull. Does he know that?
“Why are you looking at me like that?” Percy draws her out of her thoughts, touching his cheek consciously. “Have I got something on my face?”
“Yeah.” Annabeth lies hollowly, reaching over and brushing her thumb over his jaw. Is that a stubble? When’d he get so mature? She swallows thickly. “You’re good.”
“Thanks.” Percy mumbles, holding her gaze. It’s a loaded, slow moment, but she draws away first. She always does– in all honesty, Annabeth is a coward. He must sense it, because he brushes his fingers over her wrist and says, “It’s a shame, you know.”
“What?”
A wicked smile grows on his lips. “I never got to beat your ass.”
“You’re deluded, Percy.” Annabeth pokes his shoulder. “You couldn’t beat me if my arm was broken.”
“Wanna bet?” Percy demands. “Rematch. I win, you tell everyone at Camp how strong and impressive I am. You win, and… I’ll shut up about my strong, impressive arms for an entire summer.”
Annabeth can’t fight the smile only he ever seems to bring out in her. He’d chosen his words carefully, just as he always did. A new dawn falls upon them, an idea of this summer being one of many more. A summer in the future after Annabeth’s victory when Percy could go back to bragging about his bicep curl personal bests. What could be better? “You’re so on.”

OH MY GOSH I LOVE YOUR RECENT JASON X READER FIC IT MADE ME FEEL ALL FUZZY THEN SLAMMED ME INTO THE WALL AT THE END WITH THE REMINDER THAT HE GETS AMNESIA! 😖💘❣️💓💖💖💞💗 But imagine when he gets amnesia he remembers his s/o like how Percy remembers Annabeth so when he awakes in a “relationship” with Piper he feels like it’s wrong, still has faint memories of reader & when they find each other (s/o would definitely be looking for him like Annabeth looked for Percy) he just takes them with him
that’s so kind of you to say!! 💗😭😭 I’m glad it gave those feelings, and sorry for the reminder oops <3 I was kind of trying to leave it open to something exactly like this! Sorry this is so long omfg
warnings: mention of blood/fire/violence, all canon typical
when Jason wakes up, his mind is just empty. He doesn’t know his own age. There was no trace of anything, and his surroundings are not familiar at all
Only one thing seems to exist in his brain, a trace of whatever he had forgotten
Y/n
The name seems to echo in his mind. He doesn’t know exactly who it is. But he can hear their laugh and feel their embrace when he thinks about it
And when he turns to find a very pretty girl holding his hand? He blushes and pulls away, because he doesn’t know why she’s looking at him like that, and her face is not familiar at all, and her hand just doesn’t feel the same way as theirs
He doesn’t know how he knows that, but he does and it’s something
It’s a big relief in this new world of strangers he’s seemingly been thrown in
and when he finds out he’s supposed to be dating Piper it’s just. He feels very much uncomfortable with that information
she seems like a great girl, but the faint thought of Y/N, though he doesn’t know where they are, what they might be like, or even their last name, tells him that being with Piper like that isn’t right
He felt bad, trying to distance himself from Piper when she tried to hold his hand or do those shy couple things that happen in new relationships, because it’s not her fault
he knows their memories of him have to be fake, because Y/N certainly isn’t, but they don’t know that - couldn’t believe it because it was crazy
And then he discovers his ability to FLY, gets to camp half-blood, and a truckload of out of context information has hit him
Demigods, literal Gods, these figures that he somehow knows the names of, his abilities; yet he doesn’t know how these things come so easily to him
he’s almost always corrected for saying the Roman version of every name, but the familiarity is still prominent
he doesn’t really miss the aim of Drew’s comments towards him. he just couldnt find it in himself to care enough to give her a response, with how she was treating Piper and Leo
And then Piper seems to be more heartbroken by the second. Because it’s true; Jason had never existed in their lives. All her memories had been planted there, basically
he can’t help but feel bad for something that wasn’t his fault. she liked him, she had a made up past of him, all because some goddess had thought it was convenient
so he refrained from breaking her heart further; he wouldn’t tell anyone about the name that nagged his mind every moment he spent near her. the way she had been nervous over his picture of Thalia had been enough for him to stall a little more.
throughout the quest, his bond with leo and piper became stronger
it had felt right, being with them, putting his trust in them, and they had come back with real memories, a real friendship
But holding Piper in his arms as much as he did at the fire stirred a weird feeling that caught in his throat when that name came again
When he let go and kept a distance, the feeling only intensified, this time swirling with unmistakable guilt. he really didn’t want to hurt piper — he liked her a lot
just not how she wanted him to
after the quest, he makes sure to come clean, especially after the dreams that gave him more names and faces of his past
And then Y/n becomes a clear image, and he knows he can’t keep this up with Piper, because the second y/n loses the blur, his heart seems to uncover the longing and love that he didn’t know had been plaguing him since he woke in the bus
he talks to piper and the hurt in her eyes is almost enough to make him regret his wording, his choice of setting, his tone
And then, despite her heartbreak, she tells him she understands
“yeah, waiting would have been a real jerk move,” she says. “they’re really lucky.”
his smile is sad, and he doesn’t know what to say so he pulls her into a hug and this time it feels right. there’s nothing conflicted inside of him, because now he knows where his love lies and it’s different to the one he feels for piper, his friend. best friend.
she understands when she sees how eager he is about Leo’s progress on the ship, and when she notices his hands and shaking as they get closer to New Rome
And the wonder in his eyes when they land on someone in the crowd (not to forget the unusual frustration and restlessness in his voice when he confronted Terminus)
“y/n,” is the first word he says on new Rome soil in the months he’s been gone, and he can’t really stop himself from walking a little too fast to get off
he follows Annabeth a little too closely, eager to find them
and when the crowd parts for you and Reyna, he feels like he can’t move; he’s so entranced by you, the real one, not the one that’s been in his head, but the one that lives and breathes
You look so regal, like the leader he wishes he could be, and so stunning, the sight beat any memories he lived off of when he missed you
he stares into your eyes to see youre already watching him with a sparkle he knows all too well now
y/n looks away for a second to look at reyna and something passes between the two before your eyes connect to his again
“Jason Grace, our praetor,” you start, and gods, if he never thought much of his own name before he sure did now, “we welcome you home.” Your previously collected expression had softened into a teary smile he had rarely seen before. And you had never looked more beautiful.
“And these,” Reyna nodded, “your friends—”
before she could continue, Percy and Annabeth exposed them all to a passionate reunion — it took some restraint to stop Jason from doing the same, minus the judo-flipping, probably, but he has successfully stopped himself and introduced his new friends
“it seems we have a lot to discuss.” Reyna clasped her hands together. “Centurions!”
It seemed Jason hadn’t accounted for your patience, as the second the centurions arrived to side with Reyna, you had decided to step from their position
“my gods, jason, just get over here!” he heard, before feeling your arms around him, and again, he wondered how he lived off memories when this was the real thing
he laughed and returned the embrace when the slight shock wore off
After a few seconds he felt you tense and pull away, staring at the demigods and leaders who had watched. “Well? You heard Reyna.”
Everyone seemed to mumble and clear their throats before following Reyna’s orders to the legion, and making the place comfortable for a feast.
Jason stayed in place, his arm around you still, and his heart warming, along with his now pink cheeks, when you looked back at him
“Jason,” you smiled sadly and cupped his cheek, your thumb caressing his skin softly. It was a gesture he hadn’t felt since he had woken on the bus. “You’re here.” You took a breath. “I never stopped trying to find you. And I’ll do everything to make sure this doesn’t happen again. I promise.” You paused. “Do you…” you trailed off and looked up at him hopefully.
“I remember now, yeah,” he assured. “There’s…a lot I need to tell you. But I think most of that can be done during the briefing.”
“Right.” You turned toward the tables being set up. “The briefing.” He noticed your stare go cold. “Take everything Octavian says with a grain of salt. He wasn’t exactly in favor of my attempts to search for you. It’s all complicated, basically. But,” you grinned. “It’s good to have you back home again. I have to hear your story, though.”
when you both walked to the others, hand in hand, things almost felt normal. Like he’d never even left, like he’d been by your side the entire time — and that’s how he wants it to stay, he knows now
When he revealed that, similarly to Percy, the only thing he remembered was your name, your expression wavered and you clung to his hand tighter. You had been happy he had found new friends, and been welcomed into a new home where they hadn’t been too hard on him. To know he hadn’t forgotten you and wanted to find you too had rid the doubt that he found his new life better than his old one with you.
after the prophecy is discussed you volunteer to show Piper around with Jason
Despite his fear of it being awkward, he had forgotten how good with words you were
Piper eased up around you and seemed to genuinely like you so far
So Jason had brought up the idea that had been ringing in his head for a while since their discussions
“Y/N, it should be you that comes with us.”
You frowned. “I would. I want to. I just don’t know.” You looked around New Rome. “I’d be leaving everyone for a long time. Longer than I’ve ever been gone. But…I guess, with Reyna in charge —”
Before you could continue, a thundering boom shook the ground
the ship had fired
Your hand went immediately to your side, where your weapon usually was, but the space was empty
before you could question Jason and Piper, he was ushering you both toward the forum
He didn’t know what was going on, but Leo was on there in the ship and he needed to find out and keep you both safe while doing so
Unfortunately, the Romans had decided Jason and Piper were traitors, and you being one of the romans did not save you from being caught in the crossfire
soon the state of the three of you wasn’t looking too good — Jason’s head bleeding and his cloak ripped in multiple places, Piper attempting to use her charmspeak, and your bleeding arm as you joined Piper and Jason’s pleading
Jason tried his best to cover you after you gave Piper your shield, as she was most likely to face the wrath of the Romans as a Greek
you’d all had enough when Jason got hit in the head with a brick and crumpled in your arms (almost toppling you over)
Piper tried to mark herself heard in front of you both. “Stay back!” She looked at you. “Y/n, you have to make a choice. You’re either coming with us or staying. And,” she sighed like it stung, but her tone stayed kind, “I’m sure Jason wants you to come with us. We’ll need you.”
You didn’t have time to ponder your options, and instead clung to Frank’s dragon claws with the other two
It was possibly the weirdest method of transportation you’d used, and you totally would’ve been freaking out if you weren’t already preoccupied with an injured Jason
You looked down at your home, on fire and raging, and back at Jason, and you knew you had made the right decision. Wherever Jason went, you would; you’d never leave his side if you could help it, and especially in this state
It was a sentiment he reciprocated
You remembered the day he told you he couldn’t picture a life where you weren’t by his side. It was the same day he told you he loved you for the first time
So you’d join the 7 demigods, because how could you stay when the boy you spent months looking for is finally in reach and wants you with him?
you spent the day caring for his wound and watching over him as he rested
The boy had the nerve to look surprised when he saw you at his bedside
“You came.”
“Thank you,” you brushed his hair out of his face where his wound stuck, “for noticing. It was either that or get trampled. The choice was obvious.”
Jason’s eyebrows furrowed. “Sorry I made you choose. I didn’t know this was going to happen.”
“Don’t be dumb, Jason. Of course I chose to go with you, I thought the fact that I was in love with you was obvious. Plus, i have to make sure you don’t go forgetting yourself again. Juno will have to go through me first.”
Jason felt like the main character in a romance movie, but maybe they didn’t blush this much. He guessed he’d have to get used to it.
“Oh.” He cleared his throat. “I’m in love with you too.”
“If that’s true, you’ll put that ice pack back on your head.”
“Right, yeah.” Despite the pounding in his head, he smiled and allowed himself to forget the dangers he’d have to face for however long it took to defeat Gaea
In that moment, it was you who mattered. He had been angered earlier, at Juno, who had erased his life, and you, at the expense of her plans. But now, he had felt some relief and gratitude that she had at least given him your name
But that would be the last time — you wouldn’t slip from his life so easily, never again.
Even with the constant conflict between being Roman or Greek, from his loyalty to Camp Jupiter or Camp Half-Blood, he would always find you: his first and true home

I don’t want to die
summary:
Hazel took a step back. ''why are you telling me this?'' she demanded.
''because your life didn't go that way, child.'' Her father said and took a step towards her. Hazel's eyes widened as realization sank in. ''my life did go that way, sir.'' She protested as he took another step forwards. ''your first life quite was tragic, indeed.'' He agreed, and his face softened. it was a strange sight. ''you carried the curse and lost your mother to Gaia.'' Hazel flinched at the reminder as the king of the underworld continued. ''no, I'm talking about your second life, hazel.'' He got closer and closer, and hazel got colder and colder.
So that's why he's here. To take her back to the land of the dead, where she belongs
or;
hades hears hazel say something she shouldn't.
trigger warning:mentions of death
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
''Annabeth and I were thinking about going on a trip.'' Percy told hazel and took a bite of pizza.
They were seating in a restaurant in new Rome. Hazel smiled at him. Percy and Annabeth deserved a break more than anyone. ''where are you planning to go?'' she asked after swallowing her pie.
''well… we thought about Alaska.'' Hazel's eyebrows shot up in surprise. ''y'know, to make sure no deity would interrupt us with a dumb quest that will end up with me having to fight an Olympian to death or Annabeth playing with a giant three-headed dog. Long story.'' He added at hazel's confused expression. The girl nodded, still confused, and watched the son of Poseidon shuffle in his seat. He looked… nervous?
''so… I was wondering…'' he trailed off. Hazel took a sip from her cup and waited for him to continue. ''would you and frank wanna join?'' hazel almost choked on her hot chocolate. Is he serious?!
''I thought it might bring back good memories from our quest,'' the boy rushed to explain.  Hazel scowled. ''or it will bring back terrible memories!'' she hissed, the from the day I died  part left unsaid. At Percy's guilty expression she softened. Piper was right; his baby seal eyes are impossible to resist. ''It isn't like you to be so insensitive, Percy.'' She stated quietly. The boy looked down. ''yeah, sorry, I just…'' the savior of Olympus looks down for a moment. ''haze, I notice how on edge you are whenever death is mentioned in a conversation, even as a joke.''
''that's because death isn't a joke,'' the daughter of pluto snapped, suddenly angry again. A diamond appeared on her plate. Percy nodded immediately. ''yeah, ok, you're right. But I worry for you, haze. I don't want you to fear dying when you still have so much time to live.'' He admitted. and hazel's vision got blurry. ''I thought a trip to the place where you… you know, will help you realize you have nothing to be afraid of. There is still time.'' He chuckled quietly and dragged a scarred hand down his face. ''I'm sorry, it was a dumb idea. There's a reason Annabeth is the plan maker in our relationship.''
Hazel stared at her friend for a long moment, and then leaned forward in her chair and kissed him on the cheek. ''Percy, that's not dumb at all.'' She promised and took his hand in hers. Now hazel understood why did everyone at camp half-blood called Percy 'mom', much to his annoyance and to her amusement. ''I'm sorry. You were being sweet. really. I just…'' her voice lowered into a whisper. ''I don't think I'll ever stop fearing death.'' She couldn't; not after spending years watching those mindless skeletons walking around without a purpose, a future, without hope, knowing deep down she is no different than any of them.
percy squeezed her hand. ''hazel, hades- Pluto- whatever- spared your life. Remember? He won't let you die before your time is up.''
Hazel gazed out the restaurant's window. ''I don't think he did that for me.'' She admitted quietly after a few moments. ''Nico had been trapped at the jar at the time. He probably just wanted me to rescue him.'' and Hazel was glad he did. Nico deserved to be rescued. And he deserved their father's love. But didn't she, too?
Percy frowned and looked at her with those intense green eyes. ''than I won't let you die before your time is up.'' He stated firmly. ''I swear on the river Styx. Now, what do you want for dessert?'' he asked and scanned the menu, ignoring the lightning that boomed outside.
Hazel wiped away her tears and gave him a wobbly smile. ''how about ice cream?''
''only if it's blue.''
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
''hello, daughter."
Hazel jumped.  the Greek version of her dad stood in her plain kitchen, radiating power and… anger.
Hazel kneeled immediately. ''father.'' She said formally, cringing at the shaking in her voice.
Hades gestured for her to rise from the floor. ''you're more respectful than your brother.'' He stated with a snort, and hazel wasn't sure if it was a compliment.
''so… why are you here, my lord?'' hazel dared asking after a long minute of uncomfortable silence. He's a bit of an introvert. The girl vaguely remembered Nico telling her after a visit in the underworld. He's better with the dead than the living.
''I mourned you, have you known?'' hades asked her out of the blue. ''when you died.''
No, she hasn't known. why is he telling her that?
''well, you don't need to do so anymore, sir.'' Hazel said hesitantly, desperate to lighten the mood.
Hades smiled slightly, but to her it looked more like a grimace, as if her father wasn't used to smiling.
Another minute passed.
''is there…another reason you're here, father?''
the lord of the underworld let his smile fall and sighed. ''better get this over with.'' The girl heard him mutter.
''sir?''
Hades studied her with a pair of perfectly black eyes. ''my children don't usually get to live a happy life.'' He informed her, eyes still watching her fiercely.
Hazel straightened. ''no?''
The king of the underworld shook his head. ''they usually live a tragic, short life, and then die in a terrible way.''
oh.
Hazel took a step back. ''why are you telling me this?'' she demanded, manners long forgotten. she hated talking about death.
Hades didn't seem to mind her disrespectful behavior.
''because your life didn't go that way, child.'' He said and took a step towards her.
Hazel's eyes widened as realization slowly, painfully sank in.
''my life did go that way!'' She protested as her dad took another step towards her. Get away from me! She wanted to yell. every precious metal in the apartment started shaking violently.
so did hazel.
''your first life was tragic, indeed.''  He agreed, and his face softened a little. it was a strange sight. ''you carried the curse and lost your mother to Gaia.'' Hazel flinched at the reminder as the king continued. ''no, I'm talking about your second life, girl.''
He got closer and closer, and hazel felt colder and colder.
So that's why he's here. To take her back to the land of the dead, where she belongs.
''in your second life, you've made up for your mistakes. You've met new friends. you achieved greatness.'' The Olympian grabbed his daughter's chin. Hazel squeezed her eyes shut. Nico is going to hate himself for letting another sister of his die. Percy is going to hate himself for breaking his promise to her. Frank – oh, frank-
Ice-cold lips were pressed against her forehead.
Hazel stared at her father and brought one shaky hand to touch the place he kissed.
''I'm proud of you, hazel.''
As a child, she'd lay down in her bed at night and imagine her mother saying those words to her. However, she had never imagined her father saying them.
''I…'' the girl trailed off. What in Tartarus was happening?
Suddenly, her head shot up in understanding. ''you heard my conversation with Percy, didn't you?''
Hades' pale face stretched into a smile, more sincere this time. ''Nico took after me more than any of my children ever has. It's a curse more than a gift, if I'm being honest. But you… I have never fathered a child like you, hazel Levesque.''
The girl blushed. ''what do you mean?''
''you keep going. you keep trying. You keep believing better days will come. That is an ability none of my children have mastered, including Nico. Persephone is quite impressed with you, although she'll never admit it. ''
Hazel felt a lump forming in her throat, and before she has time to think about it, she threw her arms around one of the most powerful creatures the world has ever known's waist and pulled him into a hug. Her dad froze in surprise before chuckling quietly.
''none of my children ever did that, either.''
hazel rolled her eyes. She didn't know when she'll die, or what'll happen after she does die, but that's alright. From now on, she'll focus on living.
Besides, at least she knew one thing.
''just shut up and hug me back, old man.''
Percy Jackson was a terrible influence on her.

In My Heart is a Christmas Tree Farm
Here’s the ao3 link
Summary:
Annabeth, Conner, and Travis plan on going home for the holidays, but Annabeth dreads having to face her parents and their opinions on her relationships, work, and just life in general. She intends on getting someone to go with her for the trip to pretend to be her boyfriend so she won’t have to suffer all Christmas vacation listening to her parents complain. That’s when she meets Percy…
-Chapter 3-
Annabeth spent the next morning laying on her couch, drink hot chocolate, and eating sweets. She felt her phone buzz and she grabbed it off of the coffee table. She was surprised at who was calling her
“Hello?” She said
“So when am I picking you up?” Percy asked
“I never said anything about picking me up?” Annabeth said confused.
“Well you invited me to your friends game night, so the least I can do is walk with you.” He says
“Oh, um around 3:45?” She says smiling
“I’ll be there wise girl” he says and hangs up
She then realizes that he doesn’t even know where she lives.
Annabeth: I didn’t even tell you where to pick me up at
Coolest guy ever to exist: well duh but I know what building you live in so I’ll just meet you outside
Annabeth: sounds good
Annabeth: oh and I forgot to tell you, it’s kind of our tradition to wear pjs to these game nights. And tonight’s theme is Christmas pjs so you better show up in something amazing
As Annabeth settled back into the couch she gets another call
“What Conner” she says irritated
“Jeez, love you too Annabae” he says laughing
“Sorry I’m just trying to relax.”
“Okay well you can wait a second.” Conner says
“Okay Conner what’d you need?” She asked
“Who’s this guy that you’re bringing tonight.” Conner asks
“His name is Percy, the one that I asked you about last night.” Annabeth says as she gets up and rinses out her mug
“Okay… how’d you two meet.” He asks
“Well two days ago we bumped into eachother and he spilled coffee down shirt on accident.” Annabeth goes onto explaining yesterdays events
“Awww has Annabae finally found her true love.” He says laughing
“Conner shut the fuck up before I come over to your house and shove your own foot up your ass” Annabeth says
“Whatever Annabae you know you love me.”
“Bye conner” she says and hangs up roller her eyes
Annabeth watches another movie and then start getting ready. She’s wearing a Christmas sweater that says “Where’s my Ho at” with ornaments and slowflakes all over it, and plaid pajama pants with Ugg slippers. As she tends to her hair she checks the time. It’s only 3:14 so she still has plenty of time. As she gets ready she turns on Christmas music.
Once she’s finally ready she grabs her jacket and heads out of the door. As she walks out of the smartens complex she sees Percy. In a Rudolph onesie. And it has lights all over it.
She starts laughing at him as he walks up to her.
“What are you laughing at wise girl.” He says smiling
“You dummy, I love your onesie.” She says still laughing.
As they walk over to pipers house Annabeth explains who everyone In the friend group is.
“So first there’s Piper obviously. She is beautiful, and she has a good sense of humor. She’s a literal queen at putting together these game nights so be prepared to be dazzled.” She says
“I’m very prepared.” Percy says
“Then there’s Jason, her boyfriend. He’s pretty smart but doesn’t have much of a sense of humor and sometimes takes things too seriously. But he’s a really good guy.”
“Okay…”
“Then there’s Leo. I don’t even know how to explain Leo. He is basically a little kid in an adult body. He makes way to many jokes and can rarely ever take anything seriously. He also physically can’t sit still so he moves around a lot. You too would definitely get along ”
“Hey!” He says with a smile and lightly pushes her arm
“Then there’s Frank. Frank is a super chill guy. He’s a quiet dude. He looks really scary but is really a bit teddy bear.”
“And then Hazel is Franks girlfriend. She’s really sweet and baked most of the food at the game nights. She’s a really good artist too.”
“I’ll keep that in mind.”
“And then there Conner… he’s super chill, and he’s funny. But don’t get on his bad side. He’s also kinda protective of me since I’m like his little sister.”
“Noted”
As they approach pipers apartment Annabeth gets exited. She hasn’t seen her friends for weeks now.
“Also I might wanna warn you, they will probably make some stupid jokes. Just ignore them though okay?” Annabeth says
“Okay. You ready?”
“Yep” Annabeth says opening the door.
Leo, Jason, Piper and Conner were already there. Piper was in the kitchen warming up mugs of hot chocolate. Leo, Jason and Conner were all in the living room playing a racing game on Jason’s Xbox.
Piper was wearing a Santa hat, with a red tank top and plaid pants like Annabeth’s.
Jason was wearing a Santa Claus onesie.
Leo, because he was Leo, decided to wear a Santa hat, a shirt that says “Ask about my big tree” with a plastic Christmas lights necklace and pants that had grinch heads all over them.
And Conner had a penguin onesie on.
“Hey guys!” Annabeth says as Piper runs up to give her a hug.
“Annabeth! Finally I havnt seen you in so long.” Piper says
“I know it’s been a busy few weeks.” Annabeth says as she sets down her bag
“And who’s this?” Piper says looking at Percy.
“This is Percy, Percy this is Piper.”
As they shake hands Jason, Leo, and Conner all come into the kitchen.
“You must be Percy, love your onesie man I’ve heard lots about you.” Conner says as he shakes Percy’s hand.
“Conner what are you even talking about I didn’t tell you he was even coming until today.” Annabeth says blushing.
“I know Annabae I’m just playing around.” Conner says
Leo and Jason both introduced themselves to Percy. Fifteen minutes later Frank and Hazel walk in with boxes of cakes cupcakes cookies and more. As they set up the food table Annabeth went into the living room to help pick out the first game.
“Percy, how do you feel about monopoly?” Leo asked with a smirk.
“I don’t think he’s ready to play monopoly with you and Piper yet Leo.” Annabeth says laughing
“Why not wise girl?” Percy asked
“You’ll see” she says grabbing the monopoly box and opening it.
After hours of yelling, cussing, monopoly prices flying everywhere, and Leo jumping across the table at Frank, Hazel and Frank end up leaving.
“Yeah I guess it’s time for us to leave too,” Annabeth says
As her and Percy walk home Annabeth figures that it’s time to ask him.
“Percy?” She says suddenly nervous
“Yes?” He says
“Um so tomorrow Travis Conner and I are leaving to go back home for the holiday, and um-“ she cuts off
“Spit it out wise girl” he says laughing
“Well my parents are always telling me to get a boyfriend and stuff so I was just wondering if you would want to ya know go with us to Colorado and pretend to be my boyfriend.” Annabeth says really fast.
“I could think of some worse things than spending the week with you.” He says smiling.
She looks down blushing.
“I’ll just have to find a ticket tonight. And let my mom know I won’t be here for Christmas.”
“Okay are you sure? I mean I could pay for your ticket if you want.” Annabeth says
“Of course wise girl. And no it’s fine I’ll pay for my own ticket. Like what could be so bad about visiting your parents?” Percy says as they make it to her apartment.
“Oh you don’t even know.” Annabeth says with a small apologetic smile.
As she gets into bed that night she texts Percy.
Annabeth: our flight is at 11:00 am tmr
Coolest guy ever to exist: okay I’m booking a ticket right now
Annabeth: ok are you sure I can’t buy it for you
Coolest guy ever to exist: I’m sure Annabeth. I’ll see you tmr bright and early.

An aromantic Percy Jackson drabble
💚🤍🖤 HAPPY AGGRESSIVELY AROSPEC WEEK Y'ALL 💚🤍🖤 I was really hoping I'd come up with a whole fic centered on aroness, but in the end I couldn't think of anything. I love what y'all are doing with this week though and I really wanted to participate SOOO I'm just going to post this aro!Percy & bi!Annabeth drabble that I've had in my drafts forever. It was originally written as the first chapter of a pipabeth fic (hence the Annabeth pov) that never got finished, and it's a little rough around the edges but I've hung onto it because they're my comfort characters and I love them to death.
[For context, this is an au where they're regular mortals who have been best friends for years.]
Like any typical Thursday night in her senior year of high school, Annabeth was curled up on the beat-up bean bag chair in the corner of Percy’s bedroom, with calculus homework resting in her lap. Percy was on the carpet with his back against his bed, fully engrossed in his Nintendo 3DS.
That night, she couldn’t keep a hold of her focus, so instead of hunching over her work and scribbling away, Annabeth rested her chin on her hand and let her eyes wander the room.
“Percy?”
“Yeahuh?”
“How come we never dated?”
Percy twisted around and gave her an incredulous look. “What are you talking about?”
“I don’t know...” Annabeth stared down at her notebook and started tapping her pencil against the top of it. She bundled up some nerve and glanced back up at him with a wry smile. “You don’t think we’d make a great-looking couple?”
Instead of laughing, Percy’s gaze became intense and concerned, and he leaned forward a little. “Annabeth, are you saying you have feelings for me?”
“No! No, I’m not,” Annabeth held up her hands and shook her head. “I’m just thinking out loud.”
Percy hummed. He adjusted his position so his back was against the wall beside her, frowning down at the carpet. Annabeth sighed and sank deeper into her beanbag.
“I just thought,” she continued, “like, if we’re both still single in 20 years, it could be fun if we got married. To each other.”
Percy nudged her knee, smirking. “You know you don’t have to marry me just to get me to stick around. You’re my best friend.”
“Come on, I’m being serious.”
Percy looked down. “Yeah. I know.”
They sat in the quiet for what felt like ages, and Annabeth, in the depths of her awkwardness, was starting to consider giving that homework another shot. Then, out of nowhere, Percy broke the silence with a sharp inhale and said, “Oookay. I’m going to tell you something.”
Annabeth blinked. “Ok.”
Percy nodded.
“...go ahead.”
“Right.” He nodded again. “So, okay. So like, I’m aromantic.”
Annabeth raised her eyebrows. “Really?”
“Yeah. It means that, like--”
“I know what it means, Seaweed Brain. I used to read the dictionary for fun, remember?”
“Right.” Percy laughed nervously.
“But you’re, like, already sure?”
“I mean, yeah, pretty much.” Percy shrugged. “I’m eighteen and I’ve literally never had a crush. You don’t think that’s kind of weird?”
Annabeth’s mind flashed briefly through all the crushes and heartaches she’d experienced since she was a kid. “I guess.”
Percy kept nodding. Annabeth slid off her chair and onto the floor so they were shoulder-to-shoulder. “So, what you’re saying is, you won’t agree to be my backup husband. Ever.”
Percy finally smiled for real and rolled his eyes. “No, I probably won’t.”
Annabeth shrugged. “I suppose that’s ok.”
“Good.” Percy picked up his 3DS and started playing again. Annabeth hugged her knees to her chest.
“Y’know, I’ve been meaning to tell you... I like girls sometimes.”
Percy barked out a laugh. “Yeah, I noticed.”
He didn’t even look up from his game. Annabeth huffed. “Whatever.”
She watched quietly while Percy finished the level he was on. Once he was done, he offered her his fist. “You know I’ve always got your back.”
Annabeth bumped it, smiling. “And I’ve got yours.”
