New Ideas for HOTD Helaena Fashion pt.1

So she wears the same dress for how many days in a row???:

Yeah no, we fixing that. It can stay the dress she comes to ask about Dyana in but I’m pretty sure if I remember correctly the dispute over driftmark happens the next day 🙄

So new outfit it is.

I imagine everyone being dressed a bit more formal, as this is a political matter. However, Helaena is very much like Switzerland to me so like how Marcella used to wear pink and yellows instead of the harsher Lannister red and gold is what I imagine Helaena does. Perhaps a lighter green or a yellow, maybe even a blue for Dreamfyre instead of the harsher emerald green of house Hightower and what her mother usually wears, and a pink instead of the blood red Targaryen colors.

We‘ll start simple with the initial accessories, the tiara, necklace, perhaps the neckline of the dress.

So I don’t really feel like she might like to wear her formal circulet and would instead wear something like this:

Simply because I don’t think she is as focused on valuable possessions and how she appears as much. It still shows her royal status but it’s not as bold as a strictly gold ringlet. I also like the way that it’s braided in with her hair.

(Another thing I’m gonna add, the only thing I’d change from the original dress is the gold ornament across the chest. I’d have it go over the shoulders as well like in the art, but I’d also have it be like a necklace as well, looping around her neck)

As for her necklace, I wanted to incorporate some blue not only for Dreamfyre but I also headcanon that she wears sapphires sometimes in honor/support of Aemond:

I’d change the flower to a sapphire seven pointed star (also honoring Alicent’s faith) and those lines between the gold triangles would be sapphire as well.

As for the neckline I’d go with a folded over, off the shoulders, gold embroidered piece:

Just imagine this folded over a yellow shade of dress, not like a sickly yellow but perhaps like the colors we saw Mycella wear in the Water Gardens of Dorne:

The dress in question I would design like a mixture of these two, I repeat in design not color:

The first one, I like the idea of the gold boarding coming out to continue from beneath the one across the dress, to trail all the way down the from of it. I would make the rest of the dress (minus the center part) the shade of yellow that Mycella’s was and instead have simple embroidery of floral designs and perhaps spider webs as well.

As for the second one, I like the idea of the piece of fabric coming from the waist of the dress and I also like the bits of red that poke out from the sleeves. Obviously it wouldn’t come out of the shoulder as we stated it’d be off the shoulders, but it can be just below and at the bend of the elbow, with more gold embroidery folded over the wrist. The color of the fabric in question would be a pink color, again not the harsher colors of her house.

As for the hair, I’d still keep the braided crown but I’d just make it more intricate:

I love the extra, smaller braids added in and I also love a front braid coming back to greet the further back braided crown. And even though you can’t see it in this picture, I also love that it has small tendrils left free to frame her face.

New Ideas for HOTD Alicent Fashion pt.3

So for this one, we’re going to be combining Rhaenyra in this again. The reason for this is bc I’m coving the nightgowns we saw/should have seen. The reason I say some of them are ones we “should have seen” is bc why was everyone still dressed that night on driftmark???? It was late af, why were Rhaenys and Corlys the only ones dressed for bed🤨

But to start, Alicent.

This:

Idk what this is:

What happened, she was dressed so elegantly even if it was just for bed. Now she look like a spinster with a house full of cats.

I just don’t like the way the second dress is designed. The fabric is fine. I don’t like the buttons, I don’t like the sleeves, and I don’t like the bland embroidery around the neckline and the wrists and the waist.

The first dress is flowey, yet form fitting. I like the ties in the front, and the over dress that goes over the dress. It’s the same material and looks the same but the way it is positioned is very flattering and creates a more fanciful appearance.

So to firstly redo the nightgown we see in the picture above we need to take some things into consideration. Alicent has had a confusing interaction with Rhaenyra the night before, almost a ghost of their friendship in girlhood radiating around them, and she even says she will be a good Queen (previously having told Aegon that he is not her son). So, we don’t really know what’s going on in Alicent mind right now. Seriously, I mean this girl gave me whiplash sometimes. That being said, she’s still at the height of her Hightower propaganda kick.

Looking at nightgowns in other historical/period dramas, I’ve noticed that it tends to be the simple additions that you don’t even realize (a pop of color, the material of the dress, the way it hugs the body, a simple embroidered design place somewhere) that really give the dress a more fantasy appeal to them.

So considering her mindset and actions, as well as those design factors:

This actually isn’t too different from the original dress if you really look at it, only the high neckline is an overdress of sheer fabric, still allowing the (perhaps) less appropriate, yet more beautiful nightgown beneath. The overdress helps keep in tact that sense of modesty Alicent seems to be reflecting in her clothing after the time skip, whilst maintaining the more fanciful nightgowns of royalty we see her embracing in her youth. And it is a lighter shade of green as opposed to her usual darker greens, signifying her uncertainties or her wavering ideals.

It is true she also misinterpreted Viserys statement before she went to bed as well, thinking he wished for Aegon to succeed him. However, she is very against Rhaenyra being hurt in any way from the get go. Confliction, family vs. Old friendships

The one thing I would change is that the embroidery around the neckline, the wrists, and the waist would be a gold and red. Not quite Targaryen colors, but the small bit of red fabric on her nightgown could be like the small thought of Rhaenyra being queen tugging at the back of her mind.

Now for the redesign dress. Why is she still in her funeral attire🙄:

She should have been asleep, or at least pretending to be, so I at least think she’d dress the part.

Now I’m not gonna repeat myself with the yada yada yada about the dress should be bc royalty and style bc we been over that.

That being said, we combining again:

We’re keeping the long jacket from the first pick, and the dress in question from the second.

The darker green tone reflects the mood, and having been woken up I’d think she’d grab a coat as driftmark seems cold. The floral patterns add a beautiful design that takes away any simplicity, and I also imagine her liking to take strolls through the garden w/ Helaena so yeah. Just imagine this trailing behind her.

As for the dress, I love the white sleeves tucked into the belt, imagine this falling from her shoulder in her tousle with Rhaenyra, the fabric having ripped or simple fallen instead of the golden ornament across her chest in the original dress. It looks hella a lot more comfortable to sleep in that’s for sure. The simple shade of a slightly darker green making the designs subtle and elegant are just mwah. Just imagining her storming into the room half asleep with her messy hair is so pretty in my mind. No jewelry, no shoes, just messy curls, a nightgown, and an overcoat.

Now for Rhae:

This sucks😭 like it isn’t bad but idk I just don’t like the sleeves or the way the hair looks with the dress. I love the simple braid for bed, it’s literally just the sleeves and the way it hugs her that I don’t like. Okay maybe the shade it is as well. The bottom part looks fine from what I can tell, but the top is what bothers me.

Maybe something a little more like this:

The lighter red for her youth. She’s still been hanging around daemon, although he’s now been sent away at this point, he’s still heavily been influencing her since he’s been there and Daemon is big on Targaryen propaganda (though not Alicent level with faith of the seven stuff).

It’s again one of those where it actually isn’t too far off from the original dress. The color has changed, it’s more fitted, a little design was added, and the sleeves aren’t ruffled anymore. I didn’t care for those at all. And with this I feel I’d like the braid better, though perhaps have it resting over one should instead. It still holds a girlishness about it but has a little extra with the lace and the small design added to the top.

New Costumes for Hotd S1 Masterlist

A/N: All for fun obviously. Just finding ways to create new costumes to in-vision instead of the same dresses every episode by using lovely fanart that I’m finding on tumblr, instagram, Pinterest, and X. Now I can’t find all the people to give credit to so if you see ur art is in one of my post just let me know and I’ll put ur @. Again all fun, I’m just trying to find some relief and need some ways to distract myself from a loss in the family.

Rhaenyra:

Pt. 1 - deleted scene from Alicent Wedding but a new costume is created to replace the old one we’ve seen many times, and a tiara from a certain someone in the books is incorporated into my imaginary design

Pt. 2 - Alicent confronts Rhaenyra about the rumor she overheard about she and Daemon, but with a new (and dare I say improved) design of dress reflecting more of her Targaryen heritage and hair more intricate than we saw

Pt. 3 - Rhaenyra chooses a husband, or does she? Either way the Princess uses her clothes as an act of defiance, draping herself in Targaryen Dragon finery. A Queen to be judging men whom dare to think themselves worthy to be her King

Pt. 4 - a Lady becomes a Queen, and two friends become buried in grief, the weight of the burden of womanhood tearing at their fine and stylish clothes as they weep

Pt. 5 - You have dragonriders, father, ones dressed like them

Pt. 7 - The first time we cover one of Rhaenyra’s dresses as a grown as Queen to be. She’s just had a baby, and there’s no reason to be bland. Gotta put rest to rumors, gotta represent the fam. Black and blue so it’s no longer tan

Alicent:

Pt. 1 - a Lady becomes a Queen, and two friends become buried in grief, the weight of the burden of womanhood tearing at their fine and stylish clothes as they weep

Pt. 2 - Alicent is conflicted between her new family and the old, and in her clothes it shows. Hightower, Targaryen, sometimes it doesn’t even feel like Alicent knows. That’s why it’s more likely to be expressed in the clothes she don.

New Ideas for HOTD Rhaenyra Fashion pt.7

First time I’m doing one of adult Rhaenyra’s costumes, and we’re starting off with the one I hateeee the most of all:

I just, it’s so-it’s so, wtf is this shit?!?!?

I get it’s a sort of call back go her of outfits when she was younger but bruh😶 you’re telling me this is what she chose. Even her younger outfits were better than that. And I get it, I get it, it’s supposed to be maternity wear but reminder that this:

Is what Alicent wore when pregnant with Helaena. And this is what Rhaenyra wore right after the birth:

Both are hella fire, stunning. The dress Rhaenyra’s wearing is very Velaryon esque, slowly, loose, a sort of beached of Greece type beauty. Now she can still wear Targaryen colors, but she can also still have some representation of her Velaryon marriage (as we really tryna post a happy front so no one thinks about daddy Harwin😘)

So I think she’s still be wearing something similar, but perhaps representing both family’s. This being an under dress:

With it blue threading running through the red it could easily be designed a scales.

I’d also add an open fronted petticoat so that she could keep her arms warm and protect her belly or breasts if she feels the need as a woman whom has freshly given birth.

I’d use these three for design reference:

Taking the pattern from the red gown, the design of the green gown w/ the white designs, and then the golden medallion chains binding them together from the third design.

I’d change the color of the petticoat to a Targaryen black, and trade the white designs for gold ones more similar to the ones we on her blue dress. As you can see the zigzagging in the first picture of the three is reminiscent of the blue threads on the red dress meant to be worn under so honestly those could just be changed to gold. Keeping the golden belt with the rubies in the second picture, I’d disregard the highest neck piece with the laces in the front. I’d keep the spacing of the open front in the third picture, turning the bands of the front to match the fabric of the underdress. The gold on either side of the bands could be formed into dragons heads (perhaps reminiscent of Syrax’s head if ur feeling fancy). Lastly, I think I would make the inside fabric of the petticoat a velaryon blue, replacing the yellowish color we see on the interior of the dress in the third picture.

Sorry if that was confusing, I might’ve got a little too descriptive to show you what going on in my mind 😭

As for her Jewelry, I just saw a Reddit post made before hotd came out about the color of Joffrey and Jace’s dragons. They were actually correct for the most part about Vermax (Jace’s dragon) so I have faith in their theory that Tyraxes (Joffrey’s dragon) is red & black or something similar.

That being said I’d want to reflect his hatchling, or at least egg on her jewelry. (Bc I also saw someone say Rhaenyra wears a ring for everyone of her three sons @atopcat) Maybe it’d be cute if she did something to reflect their future dragons after their birth with her jewelry as well.

Red and black for Tyraxes, gold for the ring she wears for him:

Her hair is more of a simpler extent, as I feel like though time hasn’t calmed down her fashionista tastes to an extreme extent, she’s more concerned about her newborn baby than her hair right now.

Something like this, but instead make it a half-do w/ hair still hanging free from any binds/braids:

Replace the pink ribbon and bow with two Velaryon Blue colored bands with gold design embroidered onto it, golden thread braided at the edges of the fabric. Perhaps the bow could be replaced with a golden three headed dragon pin stick through the braid so it appears as if mini dragons heads are roaring at those walking behind her.

New Ideas for HOTD Alicent Fashion pt.2

So technically the last one I did for Alicent was apart of a Rhaenyra one, but for continuity sake this is my second outfit redesign for a younger Queen Alicent Hightower.

The dress in question we’re changing is one that will be changed in both scenes it’s worn. One will be a new dress entirely but the other will be just mentally recreating it to look more like the concept art.

The scenes are the dismissal of her father as Hand & The confrontation between she and Rhaenyra about the rumor that had her father dismissed:

I actually love this❤️❤️❤️ it’s just missing a little something, so when comparing these two pics:

If you notice these look exactly the same, except the black is darker, perhaps a velvet, the gold embroidery is more in the form of a design and brighter. The necklace is also more regal looking, bigger than the ones we saw her wear in her girlhood as a noble Lady. Those are the things they should’ve kept for the design of the dress in this scene, she’d look more like an actual Targaryen royal of the time. No offense but the dress that made the cut is kinda bland in tone.

The hair as well, she went for a jeweled hairnet to back to her girlhood hairstyles, precisely why I wish they would’ve kept the braided jeweled crown. It makes her seem more mature (despite her not being but jewelry can be a mask just as much as makeup sometimes) and more royal. She could even still keep it in this half held up hairdo just with the jeweled braided crown/twist added into it:

And the last thing about it the to want to say, the cape would’ve been awesome to see and it would’ve fit the scene. It was raining and she had a man carrying an umbrella for her, I think she’d have that cool ass cape too. Again makes her look more regal, more queen like, more mature.

The next time she wears it that I’d like to change, when she confronted Rhaenyra. A tense scene.

However at this point in time is when she is the most conflicted between her marriage to her husband and her “duty” to her house. I feel she’d reflect that in a representation of both houses. More so red, almost as if adding green was an afterthought, bc I rather think it would be a last minute decision for Alicent to add a green sash or piece of fabric to her usually Targaryen adoption in appearance. A way to feel close to her father by wearing the colors of the house she was born from (just like I headcanon she wore blue as a child to feel close to her mother; Helena Cuy, look it up where I go on a whole rant).

That in mind, imagine something similar to this:

The green being held in place at her neck, Targaryen dragon scales but in gold (perhaps a subtle nod toward Sunfyre/Aegon), it comes to wrap around her waist like a belt, tied at one side the remainder of the green fabric falls free on her left side of her hips down side by side the red dress. Also from the neckline, a half cape of green coming to cover her right side, thin gold chains reaching out from the neckline to hide beneath the half cape.

The red dress underneath would suit the summer climate/warmer climate of the time in the Red Keep, it’s just the right shade of Targaryen red, not to mention the red dress isn’t what really makes the dress but really what is meant to catch ur eye is that she’s wearing green for the first time in a long time. It meant to be hinting at her internal battles. Ofc her cleavage wouldn’t be exposed as depicted so it’s have a higher neckline, perhaps some simple gold and/or black embroidery to enhance it a bit.

Her hair would be something else to consider, thinking back to how we want it to be more mature and queen like. So perhaps a head peace or a jeweled net?

A mixture of these two would suffice:

The first picture is my favorite one and the main inspo for how I’d have done her hair, the pearls, the way her hair is twisted at the top with her bun being kept nice and beautiful in a net. The only thing I’d add from the second photo is the gold lace around the edges of the net, as well as the braid surrounding that as a whole. I’d also take the bands and add them loosely to the bottom part of her hair left down.

As for jewelry, they could’ve taken inspo from actual royal jewels. Something like this for Alicent:

Like I said the look starting originally as her traditional Targaryen Queen attire, with her Hightower symbolism added as an afterthought. Some small pearls could be added between diamond to go more with the pearls in her hair (although I think I might see some pearls in there but I might be dumb).

As for the earrings they could be something like this:

Again incorporating pearls into them or straight up replacing the diamonds entirely.

It’s just Queenly. It’s appeasing to the eyes. And it’s what I expect people to design royal fashion as to look like in period/historical dramas when you’ve proven yourself not concerned with accuracy or if it is a style fantasy gown.

New Ideas for HOTD Rhaenyra Fashion pt.6

This is another one where I like the idea, but I wish they’d stuck more with concept:

As you can see they’re aren’t identical but you can see where they pulled from what. I just wish they’d pulled a bit more.

Number 1) I wish they’d kept that piece around her neckline a yellow shade, and more pointed like a dragon. The yellow represents her dragon Syrax, I repeat DRAGON. Like you could put a little symbol in there, a little reference to their bond. I know it states after she had children she rarely rode, but I feel like that implies she rode a lot before hand.

Number 2) I like golden flower embroidery around the neckline, however, from there they could’ve had the dangling chains we see across her chest in the concept art and also trailing down the front of her dress. It would’ve just been a nice simple added design, they could even be scale in design. Also, I imagine them still being small, not something that’s going to make you stare at them, you’d have to really look to see the design pattern of them.

Lastly Number 3) I would’ve kept the white sleeves. Not get rid of the red sleeves we saw in the show but instead of the fabric we see under her sleeve in the above picture, I’d have the white sleeve from the concept art come from up under the red to peak out and hang down beside her waist:

And I’d the last thing I’ll say is I don’t mind the original belt piece but I would’ve added the chain around the seam where the sleeve meets the shoulder or if they’d gone with the belt piece in the concept are I would do the same just with that same embroidery.

Oh, wait, the hair, the hairrr. Believe it or not but I actually loved this hairstyle, it might’ve been my favorite one that we saw on younger Rhaenyra. It’s just royal, is the only word I can think to describe it. It’s kept out of her face, but not by a simple braid, but nothing so out there that people would stand and stare. Just a hairstyle I think I’d like to admire and keep as it suited the outfit, particularly due to the neck piece that frames her.

New Ideas for HOTD Rhaenyra Fashion pt.5

Now the only thing I’d change about this:

Is the color. I’d still have her in Targaryen black, colors of grief, yet still the colors of her house with the color of the boarders and around the wrists is still being red and the belts still being made up of rubies and gold. Like this:

Basically the same, but keeping the same waist piece from the original photo and changing the color of the dress to black. I’d also keep the red seams that run down the front of the dress and down and around the sleeves.

She also has a very sad scene in this dress, when she goes to the sept with Alicent and ends up crying not just about her mother but also her father and how she feels the world is seeing her as heir. She very emotional, very sad, and she has a lot going on all at once and so quickly at that. She’s doubting herself to some extent due to the doubt of her father and others and that could be reflected in her clothing. It can hard to get through grief when their isn’t a true and healthy support system to help you through that so it wouldn’t be surprising to her clothing still reflect grief even after 6 months (she literally talks about how her dad had been ignoring her and when she tried to voice her opinion in the small council her father dismissed her)

And again this was literally almost the only hairstyle we saw on young Rhaenyra. So I’d go again with something more toned down, but still good enough to pass for something a Princess would have her Ladies do. Perhaps one of these:

A half up-half down combo. I like the idea of braids coming together/branching out to meet one another. It’s just dramatically gorgeous and at the same time it’s not to much, yk?

New Ideas for HOTD Fashion pt.4

This one’s a little different, considering we’re also going to include Alicent in this little change of costumes 😊

So exhibit A:

The Blue Dress and the Gold. How many times have we seen those now??? Time for a little change. Not only are these the outfits they were when Rhaenyra calls Alicent a WHORE💀 but it’s also the scene where it is revealed that Alicent will be betrothed to Viserys…not long after their appropriate period of grieving had ended.

I feel like Rhaenyra is not entirely out of her grieving period (bc why should she be) and it might be reflected in her clothes with darker tones. Now I don’t imagine her in complete darkness but with some gold peaking through around the sleeves and the neckline, not the complete gold that she wore in the beginning when she was but an innocent child but enough to show a start of an internal struggle. The bits of red could also be a show of her start into maturity and her beginning to take her role as heir more seriously. By having just small amounts of the gold and red that almost seems overshadowed by the seemingly Targaryen black could be a symbol of her standing on the line between her innocence and her duty, being tugged this way and that by her grief. Bc make no mistake she is still in grief, now not only for her mother but in the scene she begins to grieve the loss of Alicent as well. Now Alicent may not be dead but what Rhaenyra deems as her BEST FRIENDS betrayal is far worse than death in her eyes.

As for Alicent she is bordering on (forced) maturity. She’s been subtly flirting and playing the game of courtship, she’s been wearing more of her mothers dresses, but at the end of the day she’s just a little girl and she’s sad as hell and anxious and distraught in both scenes. That could be reflected in many ways, perhaps by her wearing another one of her mother’s dresses but perhaps one of a lighter color as Alicent clings to her innocence that is being stolen away. Green embroidery or a dark velvet green border as a symbol of marriage and motherhood creeping in at the seems to swallow her whole :

These dresses are exactly what I in-vision, the subtle symbolism you can find or weave into these dresses for the moment they are worn speaks volumes. When I see a costume I want it to reflect a character and what they’re going through, their personality, bc a lot of people express themselves through their clothes.

The jewelry would obviously have to change a bit, Rhaenyra was currently not wearing the necklace Daemon had gifted her after he stole Baelon’s egg, and Alicent needs a necklace as well.

For Rhaenyra’s necklace I would make it a combination of these two:

I like the gold as it matches her earrings, as does the rubies, but I also like the symbolism that could be created by adding the diamond as the final hanging gem. A diamond that reflects as it catches the light. Like tears shed and unshed that had and will soon fall down her cheeks.

And with Alicent, I’d expect the same symbolism. Blue fading to green, innocence fading to maturity, a candle turning into a blaze, a Lady becoming a Queen:

(And her earrings could be much the same, with one being a blue and one being a green)

And lastly the hairrr👩‍🦳

For Rhaenyra I imagine something like this:

Nothing too out there, but beautiful and fitting. It would keep it out of her face whilst still holding the beauty of the Targaryen braid and letting her hair flow down straight and free. Combination of kept and free. Rhaenyra has freedom, in her cage.

Alicent was a little more tricky bc I wanted something that was simple, not too regal yet, and still more of her usual style that we saw in her younger years. I stumbled on this:

I like the braided crown, a symbol of the future crown that will come to rest on her head as Queen. I also love that Helaena wears this in her hair, and I like that maybe she stole it from her mother bc she remembers her wearing her hair like that when she was younger. And whilst we have seen Alicent with a braided crown before, this one was more prominent and pulled more forward like an actual crown.

Alright that’s all I’ve got for the outfits in that real and deleted scene between Alicent and Rhaenyra. I’m sure I’ll find more I’d like to see a little differently. I know it won’t change the costumes but hey it’ll give me a little something more to picture in my mind

Note

Rhaenyra is at Storm's End. That's the Baratheon throne that she's sat in, that we see Borros in in Episode 10. The man sitting next to her, also, is Boremund Baratheon, who was the Lord of Storm's End at the time of the marriage tour. It's definitely not Dragonstone.

New Ideas for HOTD pt.3

So for this dress, I’m not exactly sure which scene I’d want the dress replaced for:

She wears this dress twice, once when she was meeting with the Lords for her hand, and again when she was meeting with Laenor to discuss their betrothal.

It’s hard to decide bc for one I can’t really tell where Rhaenyra is at when she’s meeting with the Lords. Some say it’s storms end, but a lot of people are saying she’s on Dragonstone. I like the idea that she was on dragonstone but my only issue is the fact that the original season finally was supposed to take place in Dragonstone’s throne room, but they didn’t get the chance to build it…

That doesn’t make sense if this is Rhaenyra on Dragonstone. So when trying to decide which dress suits which climate I’m just…idk man, I’m confused

Continuing on, the dress in question is this:

As you can see it appears to be a little warmer fabric which I originally thought might better suit her walk on the beach due to the oceans breeze, but now I’m starting to think a stone room might require more warmth.

She also appeared a bit colder in that Great Hall with the Lords and in general, bored even. I image her reflecting this in her appearance. A darker Targaryen Red, dragon scales embroidered into the frantic like some of Danaerys’ dresses in GOT. It still a similar design style as well, with the off the shoulders design, and I do believe that at that time she’d be wearing more silver or steel colored jewelry to match Daemons Necklace. And again it would fit her defiance against marriage in her reflecting both her house colors and sigil.

Also I find that when earrings hang they frame the jawline better, giving her an even more colder appearance as she stares down judging at them.

I’m unsure about the hairstyle though, as Alicent and Helaena have been seen with these hairstyles a number of times, not saying she’s petty but 👀

So perhaps something like this:

With this as her circlet tiara (before Daemon gifts her the Jade one) as a testament to her father:

I know it’s her Crown in the book but since they’ve changed the crown I think we can change it a bit more. So instead of the crown just having the gold sigils of the great houses, we bring the jewels back and let the be a representation of the seven realms and the seven gods:

I never noticed that before, you’re right! That’s actually so cute when you put it like that and it would make sense for her to do that. I mean at the time not only was Rhaenys the only one she had left (besides Corlys & Daemon) but her sister Baela was also a ward of their grandmother, it was probably a way for her to feel close or at least a representation of one or both of them

That would be so cute, to see a scene with Rhaenys behind her in a chair as she does her hair, and Rhaena crouched before her looking into the fire clutching a dragons egg. It could be a parallel to the scene Laena and young Rhaena had except it’ll be a grandmother finding a part of her daughter in her granddaughter, and daughter finding a part of her mother in her grandmother😭

Although her hair in that second picture with the half ponytail is kinda majestic, just a little too tall from the front angle. I think she’s gorgeous either way❤️

What would Gwayne smell like? Asking because you did other HotD characters and Gwayne is going to be there in s2. I'm also a bit obsessed with him and I am currently working on a crack ship fanfic about him and Rhaenyra. So, that is a very important detail.

Ooo, this is a tough one, but I imagine he smell a bit like fine steel from training, a bit earthy bc not only does he enjoy jousting but I imagine him just liking to take long rides on horseback either by himself or perhaps sometimes with Alicent when he wishes to help her escape from the Red Keep. Perhaps some hints of paper as well, having grown up at the High Tower I imagine him being particularly dedicated to his studies (though against his own will, it must suck growing up with all those member of the faith)

I Literally Just Posted One of These But IDC

One thing that really irked me about season 1 was the number of repeat costumes, and upon doing a rewatch of GOT I noticed them a lot there too obviously but I just can’t get past the fact that royals have to have more than two (rather plain at that) outfits. I know you have a wardrobe full 😭

Idk I might make it a series, might not, I just want some more fashion.

So jumping right into it, I’d change this dress during the confrontation scene between Alicent and Rhaenyra from this:

To this:

My reasoning for this is simply bc

1) Rhaenyra has already worn this dress before so like ugh ex. When she was talking with Rhaenys about how the realm will never accept a queen

2) She’s been spending more time with Daemon, she’s coming more into her own and her Targaryen heritage, her blatantly wearing the colors of her house can be a small and some would even call a petty act of defiance against the thought of marrying into another house, it’s also simple enough to be considered a day dress while not boarding on looking like the dress of a lesser house. I’m not saying it looks bad but it suited her more in girl hood, the softer colors and the lack of Targaryen colors symbolizing innocence and someone more of an independent mind then one focused on all that her house is yet. And Rhaenyra at this point in time is taking her role as heir very seriously with her not only feeling threatened by the thought a husband ruling over and through her but also of her younger brother overshadowing her.

And 3) Rhaenyra was a known fashionista, she liked to be jeweled out, and wear exquisite gowns. I also feel like the hair, although I can understand a simple braid due to being summoned so suddenly, I still feel like she’d do at least a half up braid with ofc Targaryen flair thrown into the braid.

Just my thought but let me know what you think. Ofc this is all for fun, I just think that some of the art I find based on the show and characters are amazing and beautiful, and dare I say sometimes the costuming is better than the show.

The Wedding We Should Have Got (one of them anyways)

There’s only some things I would change from this lovely art (ertacaltinoz on instagram) and that is that Rhaenys and Corly refused to attend Viserys wedding to Alicent bc they took it as a slight against their daughter Laena.

And I’d add this crown to Rhaenyra’s design:

A nod to the jade tiara Daemon brought back for Rhaenyra, the tiara having allegedly belonged to the Empress of Leng.

The reason I find the dress design so appealing is bc I think it reminds me of a more fitted, more appealing version of this dress in some of the artwork of Queen Rhaenyra:
