The One Who Waits: what if its Death?

Death is what waits for everyone. She's inescapable. She's inevitable. It makes sense the Toymaker, a creature of eternal play, would stay away from the embodiment of Ending.

Not to mention rtd is clearly still going with exploring the Doctor's past and Death is tied to at least one version of the Doctor's origin

Between the duo in Can You Hear Me, Time in Flux, and the Toymaker in The Giggle, the show has been inching back towards eternals and godlike creatures.

Wouldn't it be cool if Death was next?

i think it'd be fun if while the master was on gallifrey and messing around in the matrix he found about abt the confession dial. not the sanitised story that twelve might've told missy during the vault but the actual real 4.5 billion years of the time lords using twelve's own will and testament as a torture chamber story. and he loses it. and he burns gallifrey. except he can't ADMIT that's why he did that he'd look SENTIMENTAL he'd look like an IDIOT so instead he makes up a story about how he found something in the matrix something so horrifying and awful and unbelievable that he HAD to destroy the time lords. and then thirteen ends up on gallifrey and digs a little deeper than he had and manages to reconstruct some of the missing files and when she runs back into him she's like i finally found out why you burned gallifrey and i can't believe they did this to me i can't believe they wiped my whole life and experimented on me and built the time lords from my stolen dna and the master's like yeah while mentally he's like hm i'm sorry they fucking what

Ten definitely would have finished saying ‘You spilled the coffee!’ - the argument would have escalated. It would have gone on, both of them bickering back and forth until Ten more than likely would have said something so hurtful that Donna would have broken down. Because this is older Donna - she is still as fierce but she’s softer. She has a family waiting for her.

But Fourteen stops himself, realising it’s pointless putting blame on anyone, steps away and apologises. He’s thinking about Donna and the situation they’re in and THAT is the difference. Ten would have finished that sentence… Fourteen doesn’t out of love and consideration.

No one talks about the aroace universal experience of all your favourite movies and shows you've had throughout your entire life are the ones where the characters have strong friendships, and only later on, after you've found the right terminology, you realise how unconsciously you've been drawn to media where the plot doesn't involve romance or sex.

For me, it was when I realised I had been playing the fourth season of Doctor Who on repeat. RELIGIOUSLY. Why point that season out? It's one of the few with an amazing plotline and one of the best most beautiful friendships, that's even bordering on a qpr, we have on television.

so donna girlies happy to announce the horrors have ended and the healing begun! how are we feeling? are we gonna have our usual existential crisis suddenly remembering that donna noble forgot followed by uncontrollable sobbing because she remembered, and her best friend is her family now, and they are safe out there, together, making up for lost time, bickering over which cookies are better, the ones from the local shop or the ones from 1960 belgium?

So I feel like it's surprisingly common for people to have nightmares or otherwise unpleasant dreams about school experiences long, long after they have stopped being in public school.

Which had me thinking, like - as far as we can tell, the Academy on Gallifrey probably has a lot of similarly stressful experiences? So like. The Doctor definitely has nightmares about being at the academy, right?

I'm imagining the standard sort of nightmare where you find out your electives didn't count and you have to go back to high school somehow, or for some reason you're in school and can't find the classroom, you know the drill.

Also I know the Doctor would rather regenerate than talk about anything to do with their past, but...

It would be extremely funny to me personally if a companion was like "Ugh, I had a dream that I was back in high school last night but I graduated years ago"

And the Doctor responded with "You think that's bad? I've had dreams where I'm back at the Academy and can't find the right classroom and I left the academy millennia ago."
