"there is no clear evidence of Loki's worship in ancient times"
But stories were told of him - yes?
And did they make people laugh?
Did they make them squirm?
But a hearth stone was carved of him, yes?
Someone's love and time emptied into little mouth stitches and a curly mustache
They imagined him, right?
And someone looked at the sky
Saw Thiazi's eyes
And the old dwarf's toe
And saw the red one, burning bright
And named it Loki -
Right?
Does a lack of worship mean
A lack of love?
What about a million scintillating threads tying the web of stories, great and small?
What about kindling the imagination
Like wildfire
Like dandelion seeds
Blowing across a northern sky
Why does worship not mean
Deeply Beloved?
I am with Them - They are with me
Everyone who once heard a story who heard a story of a god called Loki
And told it to someone who told it someone
Until it got to me. To you. To us. That's worship. That's love to me.

Prayer to Hephaestus against wildfires
Lord Hephaestos of the Smoldering Kilns—
tamer of the flame and shaper of smoke,
lover of the ashes and crafter of unmatched skill.
i plead with thee to tame this wild beast.
quell the roaring spirits whom consume all they touch,
their greed unquenchable, destructive, and smoldering.
thus I call to you, my savior, undying Hephaestos—
Klytomêtis, Klytos, Aithalóeis Theós—
bend back this unruly beast and strike down your mighty hammer.
show mercy to us, God of the Scorching Heat,
that we may sing your praises to the unburned skies.
for i will remember you with this prayer, and again with another.
Klytomêtis (Κλυτομητις) - Famed for Skill, Crafts
Klytos (Κλυτος) - Renowed, Famed, Glorious
Aithalóeis Theós (Αιθαλοεις Θεος) - Sooty God

To the Rainbow Lucifer
Lucifer of the Rainbow, Lucifer, Meadow Dancer!
I see you in flowers, And in the rosy-orange sky When the Sun is rising - The Sun, your other shining face, Oh, sweet Morningstar.
I see you in grass, In brave city dandelions And even at night, In the Moon's colours, subtly changing.
Fallen, you never lost your beauty, Lucifer, Rainbow of This World.

Your beautiful wavy hair flows down Your shoulders,
Like a golden waterfall of ambrosia,
Your eyes shine with the glow of the morning sun,
And pierce through all darkness,
Your hands are delicate but calloused,
From many years of strumming the lyre,
Your enchanting voice stirs envy in every songbird,
As its melody is sweeter than honey,
Everything about You is perfect in its own way,
Perfect in imperfection,
You set a golden standard for all,
But You don't expect flawlessness,
All You truly wish for in Your worshippers,
Is for them to be true to themselves,
And being true to myself includes,
Being true to You.

I see Him in the flashes of the lightning and the clap of thunder in response. In the pouring rain and smell after it falls from the clouds. Sweet melancholic melody, why, the clouds sing us a song.

Prayer to Persephone
Persephone, Maiden, taken from Springtime into death and darkness.
What many fear, you embrace. Shedding part of yourself to become something new, eternal change.
I honor you.
Persephone, Holy and Almighty, goddess of life and death alike.
We bow to you and your mighty power. Spring and Summer, Winter and Fall.
Our connection to you is strong and grounding, the earth itself.
I honor you.
Persephone, Queen of the Underworld, our souls find you upon our death.
Welcome in your arms and kingdom.
May we pass on peacefully and painfully.
I honor you.
Thank you, Persephone. I honor and praise you.

Spears clash,
Shields beat against steel,
You guide the battle of my heart,
swaying favour towards one side of myself,
versus the other.
You guide my heart,
and heal my traumas,
offering solace from the trauma of life.
O' Ares,
I sing your praises,
and honor your name.

YOUR HOME: A Message from Hestia
"As the dark begins to creep in And you start to feel cold within, Know there's nothing I wouldn't do To help take care of you. When you feel like there is no room to grow And there is no love left to know, You needn't even knock on my door For this home is already yours. As the fire inside begins to dwindle And you can't find the inner strength to kindle, Know that you have a place by my fire And together we shall reignite and inspire. When you feel like all hope is lost And you can no longer afford the cost, O' sweet child, you needn't hide For you always have a place by my side. As the nights grow colder And you start to feel older, Know that you are never alone For this place is your home."

Moodboard to Aphrodite Mother of Desire + a prayer...
Shining Aphrodite I have you on my mind often these days Sometimes you glow green like the sea in a Cycladic cave Sometimes you're soft and sweet like a pale winter sky Today I see you in a bright red Passionate and engulfing They call you Mother of Desire And I can see why Since you made Desire blossom in my heart How foolish of me to think I was immune Madness and beauty altogether An intoxicating dream They call you Areia And for a reason too Since falling in love can look a lot like going to war Which asks courage and strength Conquering Aphrodite Who blessed me with your grace May you guide my steps towards whom I desire And free my heart from its cage

Devotional Desire
Sometimes, the poems get stuck inside my throat. Sometimes, the words run through my mind so fast that I can only see their spectre, mere foam. In vain, I try to catch them, but they laugh; nymphs of an enchanted forest, hiding behind flowers and trees, dancing in the wind. And there I am, under the light, exposed to their mystery, unable of discerning, lost in their realm – the realm of meanings and seamless feelings that are simultaneously universal and unique, just another glimpse of eternity to me.
Sometimes, I hum a melody for you and then put some words around it. I remember thinking about writing them down so a friend could sing with me, but your sweetest voice told me no, don't do it. Those small songs were supposed to be our eternal secret. Only I sang, only you listened. The angels leaned forward, but no notes were taken. It is stored in another dimension, far away from prying eyes, far away from bad intentions. No one can touch our secret or corrupt the levels of descent in my devotion. What is the praise of men compared to the whisper of heaven in your shoulders? Worms in a plate of bones.
Now it's another season. I sing a lot less while I try to listen. I'm not very good at it, I confess, I insist—help me discern your voice in this, at times, abyssal experience. You lift me up with a kiss! I'm yours, I'm yours, my eyelids are half open, and my face is covered in tears. Obliterated from the inside out, fully naked it is. So I recite the spectre of these words I gather in the forests of my wild mind and offer you a poem. In the silent night, ceiling-staring all the time, trying to see past the firmament, piercing the skies, I pray in poetry; my verses shakily whispered. I feel you, hypnotic and soothing as fire. You smile; our secret is safe in my childlike, devotional desire.

We imagine Loki's punishment in the mouth of the cave. After all, He is the god of many mouths, Hveðrungr, Gullveig's last stop, and Stitchlip. Why would he not be in the mouth?
Because you don't put out a fire by giving it, O Loptr, fine mountain air, sunlight, or wind.
You don't squelch a light with more light. You leave it in darkness to rot.
O, that dark primordial Thing. That cold-blooded Prometheus of the frozen north. How do you kill the deathless? You torture it to finality. Liver meet eagle. Sisyphus get happy. Loki, meet hole. (tale as old as time)
You leave him as deep as you can get him. Deep as the quick, that Blood Gave Loðurr.
And you leave that Goatballed Jester without the only thing he ever wanted. An audience. The sound of laughter. Good company.
And you leave that thrice bound sucker there to rot, wrapped round with the promise that your children, too, will be snuffed out like votive candles. Rot with them now and crawl home to your daughter. Crawling King Snake, welcome home.
That's what makes Sigyn so compelling. Sigyn, Victory Woman, The Thing With Feathers -
Rabbit says; "Joy To The Fettered,"
She flies down the tunnel, she comes heartbroken, she comes alone.
This is an Oubliette - who would choose to come but the Victorious?
This isn't Orpheus come to find her blushing bride.
This is Persephone making her bed with the mother of Monsters.
And she comes out again, from the depths which grant no mercy, with neither light, or joy, or wind, or sky. Just a bowl of poison, thirstier once emptied.
Sigyn, The Thing With Feathers, comes out of the cave and the stink and the rot. And does she stop a moment? Does she breathe the alpine air and sigh and maybe, just maybe, weep?
We know just this. She goes back.
Sigyn, The Thing With Feathers, knows that Nothing Lasts Forever. And someday, we know, all hell breaks loose.

a devotional poem for Dionysos
Bacchus in the Vineyard
Red-stained hands, sullied by the harvest
Grapes fall into your basket as you wipe sweat from your brow
The leaves rustle and whisper like loyal followers gathered ‘round
The fruit that you harvest, what shall it become?
You become what you are blind to; a stranger to the present.

My Spear, My Shield
To the flame-eyed god who stamps harder than a stallion;
I thank you for reminding me of my own strength;
I am not a helpless deer or defenseless rabbit;
For even a deer bears antlers and a rabbit, claws;
I am not weak or incapable of standing up for myself;
The power to tell someone "fuck off" very much lives within me;
I am not a follower meant to blindly obey others;
My voice is my own, and I will make my thoughts known;
My boundaries protect me, but I also protect myself;
And setting them is an act of self-love and self-care;
Those who cross them time and time again;
Aren't worth even an ounce of my time;
Thank you for reminding me of the strength in my chest;
The pounding of my heart that reminds me I'm alive;
The proof of blood in my veins that I have still survived;
The reassurance of the breath in my lungs that there will be tomorrow, and tomorrow is another day;
You have taught me valuable lessons that I will take with me for the rest of my life;
Things that I have learned, seen, and experienced;
That will forever stay with me;
My gratitude goes beyond mere words;
With your mighty spear and great shield raised;
You reminded me to raise my own in triumph;
For I have not fallen today;
And I shall not fall tomorrow.

Winter creeps away with reluctance as spring kisses flower buds. The scent of summer rain soon to come, twirling after spring showers. The ice slips away for another year as She stirs in blooming bliss. Soon to be reunited with Her mother, spring will come again. Let us make flower crowns and plant the harvest. Let us dance to Her return and sigh in Her departure. Let us sing and smile as the grass grows green. To see the brightest flower we’ve ever seen: Persephone.
