I started doing “👍🏽” after everything as a joke because my dad always does it but it’s not a joke anymore

🤟🏽 . I want to know if your dad is like your mom are not...
(🤟🏽 about my dad... okay, lets see)
my dad had a physical fight with someone in college.
so my dad was a topper, and basically just this quiet nerdy guy with glasses who was best friends with my mom, the school and college pataka. everyone of my dad's old friends describes him as an introvert, someone who was so quiet you forgot they existed, and a pretty chill and easy going guy who never yelled at anyone (in fact, he's never actually yelled at me or shubh like mumma has, he just gives us a disappointed look and thats about it- shubh's inherited his cool and calm, while ive inherited mummas anger lmao).
so when i first heard that my dad actually broke all of this guys fingers and bruised his ribs, i was shocked. and then i heard the story.
so my mom was pretty okay with her studies, not the topper, but just above average, enough so that she had time to go out and have fun with friends. my mom didnt party- the most she did was go shopping or for a movie night.
and now comes the reason why my dad fought this guy. he tried to ask my mom out on multiple occasions, and when she said 'no' about fifteen times, he started giving her hell. as in spreading rumours (which barely anyone believed but still, asshole behaviour).
then one day, he just blocks my moms path and yells, in front of about 200-300 students, that she's a tawaif (a whore).
and then my dad just fucking takes off his glasses, hands them to my mom, and starts fighting this guy. like a full on bollywood style fight, with free gaalis. and he breaks this guys fingers, and bruises his ribs. like damn papa, i did not know you used your muscles for something other than opening jars.
now, my dad hasn't told me all of this, my mom has. everytime i so much as mention the guy, my dad's face contorts in fury and he says, and i quote, 'uss kutte ka naam mat lo mere saamne. mera bas chalta toh uski jaan le leta.'
so. yeah. my dad fought with someone because they insulted my mom. and then when my mom asked him why he did that, he said because he likes her. and then they started dating a week later. kya romance hai.

Had a fight with my father lmao. Ended up crying while mom came in my room and explained to me "he has fever that's why he's screaming"
Well, at this rate I might get a fever too, mumma. Will I be allowed to scream at everyone too?

i need my father's motherly instinct
i yearn for my father to understand me
i ache
when my best friend's dad makes a speech at her wedding, oh so tenderly talking about her, describing her qualities, 'you are my sunshine, please don't take my sunshine away', i ache
i hear my roommate's father's genuinely concerning voice notes, everyday, asking about her day, her feelings, her health, and i ache
does my father know me?
there is a tsunami inside of me, threatening to unleash every time i talk with him, and if i let it loose, i'm afraid it will destroy me
'why do you get so emotional', he says

Sometimes all you need to do is talk to your dad about what's bothering you and he'll come up with the most efficient solution. To literally ANY prblm. :)
