List your most unpopular opinions on Descendants (from books to movies)
Thanks for asking!
I do not hate any of the kids (I.E. Mal, Chad, Doug) just the writing and the adults minus Coach Jenkins.
Coach Jenkins is the MVP of the adults and no one can change my mind.
There should have been two isles to eliminate the possibility of children being created or no isle at all.
Belle and Beast are terrible parents, and FG is not much better.
Aziz, Hadie, and Ellie should not have been deleted/discarded. In fact, NONE of the side characters in the books or movies should have been.
Descendants would have been better as an espiodical show. Animated or not. It would have definitely made the writing a lot better.
They should have made better use of the characters that weren't Mal.
They should have had Mal seem more remorseful for actions pre-d1 and after. Her not seeming genuinely remorseful and taking the blame for her actions ruined her for me in a lot of ways. Which is a shame because she use to be my fav.
They should have not forgotten the kids hobbies/interests like they did. Sure. They remembered Evie's and that Carlos was good with tech (vaguely) but they completely forgot about Jay and Mal's.
At the end of d3, the kids should have been running to find their isle friends and their cousins/siblings, NOT their parents who were shown and implied to be abusive.
The aks and auradon adults should have had to change more instead of just the isle kids being the only ones to adapt.
Yen Sid is not the best in my opinion. He's kind of a dick in some ways (like in the Sorcerer's apetatince if I remember that mickey mouse movie correctly).
They should have been given more info about the characters they just made up (Arianna's parents, Reza's dad, etc).
Oh and they definitely should have taken more care with Gil's character. Don't get me wrong. I love him. But he has a lot more personality in the books that they could have utilized. He and Evie and Carlos (and later Chad and Audrey) and even Doug (that man loves fashion. I am telling you) could have bonded about fashion since he can sew and all. Like come on.
That's all I got for now. But I have a lot of strong feelings on all of this.

ok ok but [spoilers ahead!] all the implications that Edwin and Charles are both each other's light in the dark. The lantern Edwin brings over to warm up a badly hypothermic Charles, the way its golden glow and Edwin himself kept the sick boy company, making that cursed attic room less gloomy. The flash of the explosive Charles throws at the baby doll-head demon that finally allows Edwin to run and escape with him from Hell. The confession scene, with that golden light burning persistently around the two of them even in the bleak stairways of Hell, reinforcing how they will always be there for each other no matter what. guys, they're each other's hope. guys.

jason todd falling in love with someone from the perspective of the other batfamily members has got to be the funniest thing ever, because he's not going to tell them anything about his personal life so easily, which is going to lead them to greatly misunderstand everything. so while jason’s giggling and kicking his feet while imagining his future wedding with his crush, his family is immediately calling john constantine to exorcise the demon that is clearly possessing him.

You know the "humans are space orks from a death world" thing? I thought of a possible addition.
What if one of the reasons we are so space orky is because while earth experiences the apocalypse every few million years, most alien's home worlds only have like MAYBE one or two in their biological history?
Like yeah there are plenty of aliens from death worlds but you remove them from their death world they are screwed because they only evolved for that narrow version of habitability. But human's evolutionary ancestors had to survive so many apocalypses that drop us off on some minor death world and we can adapt. Our ancestors survived a planet killing asteroid impact, not to mention an event so devastating that its official title is "the great dying", some boiling magma and acid rain is nothing

He wasn't sure how it worked, and he won't try to understand how it worked. The only thing that matters is that it did work. It worked too well for Y/N's liking. Damn spells and their unpredictable outcomes.
It all started when he was practicing a spell from a spellbook his father had given him from Hecate. Y/N wasn't even sure if he could do magic the same way as Mal, but he had to try. It's probably how this happened in the first place.
He said the spell to transport him somewhere else, and he was hoping that meant somewhere else in Auradon, not in another universe. He disappeared and reappeared on the Isle of the Lost. Y/N tried not to feel unnerved being back here, but it's when he realized that something wasn't right here.
There were no graffiti tags with Maleficent, Jafar, Cruella, Evil Queen, or Hades and Chernabog. Instead, they were replaced by wall art of Beast, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, and Fa Mulan. What the hell was going on here? Why was there art of heroes all over the Isle?
Before he could ponder anything else, Y/N heard a loud roar behind him, and he turned to see Ben jumping down from a rooftop. It was definitely Bem all right, but the rest of him? No so much. He wore a black leather jacket and ripped jeans. He had a navy blue shirt underneath his jacket, and he was big and muscular. When he snarled, Y/N could see his sharp fangs.
"What the fuck are you doing in the Beast Gangs' territory?"
"Beast Gang? Ben, what the hell is going on here?" Y/N asked.
"I'll tell you what's going on here." Ben's nails extended to claws. "I don't like trespassers. Especially from the place that condemned us to this fucking shit island!" He took a swipe as Y/N backed up. "What the fuck, Ben? Have you lost your mind?"
Ben smirks. "Oh, you have no idea how crazy I can be." He roared and charged towards Y/N.

What are your headcanons about Jade, Jay's cousin?
Tumblr media
She's older than Jay by a year.
She's Nasira's daughter.
Jade is just a nickname: her actual name is Jaddeana.
Jay's name is actually Jakeem, with Jay just being a perfered nickname.
She had a golden python necklace that Jay stole for her on her 6th birthday with matching earrings.
She's the one who gave Jay his earrings. And the one who pierced both of their ears.
She has many nicknames other than Jade— nicknames like J.D, Jaddie, Jad, Jads, Deana, Eana, J'eana, Addena, and Python.
On her last birthday before Jay left for Auardon, he gifted her a Dagger with a black and gold , double snake handed handle.
She is a sporty, parkour loving, fighter of a girl who loves acting, dancing, singing, magic, and potions making.
Jade wants to be a musicsn and an actor when she grows up.
She and Jonas (Member of Uma's crew) are a couple.
She's apart of Harriet's crew and good friends with Diego.
She is a theater kid and was in alot of plays on the isle.
People like her and she tends to remain neutral until her hand is forced. Like when her mother is insulted or her cousin is threatened.
She was heartbroken and furious when Jay left for Auardon without saying goodbye. And was even more so when he didn't send her letters or come to visit her.
She'd help Jay steal so he could stock Jafar's shop quicker and so he wouldn't get hit or have to sleep outside.
She rarely ever goes near Jafar's shop— since her mom who isn't all bad strictly forbade it—but when she does, it's to see Jay.
She likes crocodile wrestling since it's an easy way to get out her aggression and she has two pets—a snake named Hassan and a parrot named Tygo.
She has magic but goes to Dragon Hall because she thinks the witch school is pointless on the isle.
She gives Jay an earful when the barrier is taken down.

More swapped sketches. Princess Mallory of Auroria, and just…Auds, or A, on the Isle.
Unlike most other AU’s that have done this, Audrey doesn’t develop a rough exterior like C!Mal does. In canon she is a manipulator and thrives on attention, but her influence only works if there are people around her to control. On the Isle, Auds doesn’t have any friends. Everyone knows she’s not Maleficent’s daughter, therefore she has nothing to offer as an ally. She’s treated more like a servant than anything else. She’s invisible and outcasted, changing that manipulative part of her to be openly shy and insecure around others. She keeps her head down and stays out of other people’s way.
Mal, on the other hand, or Mallory in Auradon, is a natural born alpha with a stubborn streak and a scary amount of ambition. Like her canon-self, she has a very close knit group of powerful friends, but without the checks and balances of the Isle keeping her level-headed and a (decently) good leader, she instead is cruel, manipulative, temper-prone, and uses her magic (which she still has) to try and get what she wants. Ben x Mal is still a thing and stays a thing, but it’s a bit different now, I haven’t decided how yet.
If yall have any questions about this AU please feel free to ask, I really like the idea a lot and am having fun with the designs.

For anyone in the Legend of Zelda fandom and Linked Universe, I have an idea for a story. You can use the idea because I’m horrible at keeping track of what I want to write. Good luck!
The Plot: Unknown to the heros, the shadow goes back in time and kills Warriors after he and Artemis seal Ganondorf in order to weaken the Chain. The effects on Time itself shows in Hylia’s heros. The group of 9 are reduced by 2 since Warriors was now killed before the journey starts and Wild is erased due to the fact he was a descendent of Warriors. Time (the hero) is now more jaded and full of anger due to watching the one considered his big brother be killed in front of him. He is more reckless and quick to anger. His markings are now complete and has the power of the Fierce Deity without the use of the mask. Wind, who was there in the war shortly after turning 13, is also jaded and wanting revenge for Warriors’ death but not as reckless as Time. The others are more or less unaffected outside of being very concerned with Time and Wind’s health and sanity.
With the exception of Legend who, thanks to his royal blood, remembers Warriors and Wild and is unaffected by the time change. With Hylia’s direct help at last, Legend takes Sky, Four, Hyrule, and Twilight back into the past in order to save Warriors’ life and in turn, Wild’s existence.
There’s just one little problem.
They must not be seen by Warriors, Artemis, Mask, or Toon or the Golden Goddesses will interfere and possibly stop them.

pick a card, any card
"Pick a card," Celia Facilier demands. "Let my friends tell your future."
Mal, crammed in the backseat of the limo on Ben's other side, laughs. "Don't do it, Ben. She's just trying to scam you out of your money."
Celia's mouth drops open, theatrically scandalized at the accusation. "Moi? I would never, ever try to scam anyone, and I'm hurt you'd say such a thing."
She's so small. Her hands, on the cards she's fanning out in Ben's face, are bony. She's handling them well, but Ben remembers the feeling of cards too big and too stiff for his childhood hands to manage, and even though Celia is more comfortable with her cards than he's ever been, the strain shows in the way she tilts her hand to manage them all.
"Sure," Ben says, instead of listening to Mal. His beloved fiancee is wonderful and all, but sometimes she forget that he is, in fact, an adult who is more than capable of making his own decisions.  He loves her so much, and so deeply that it scares him sometimes, but the blind spots that come from growing up on the Isle are weird, and the issues that Mal has with trusting people aren't one of her best qualities, and definitely aren't ones that Ben wants to fall victim to himself. "I'll take one reading of my future, please."
Celia laughs.
She's so young.
"Tell me what you want to know," the kid in front of him says, reshuffling her cards quicker than the naked eye can follow. "Love advice? Money? Fame and fortune? What's your poison, King of Auradon?"
"No poison. The drought of love should be sweet." Ben says firmly. "I want to hear about my future love life."
"Ah." The cards fan out again, and Celia giggles. She sounds like Freddie when she does it, which is weirdly sweet. Not many of the Isle kids will admit to having family, so it's sort of nice when sisters or brothers do something, and they reveal that they're not so different after all. "Sweet it might be, but love can go sour at any moment. Pull one card."
Ben smiles. "Any card?"
"Not that one!" Celia squawks, wobbling the cards like she's going to jerk her hand back. "Just kidding. You can pull any card you want, but you have to feel it. Let my friends guide you."
Ben stops. "Feel the cards," he repeats. "Okay. I feel….” He lets his hand hang still for a moment. The cards are worn, or possibly painted to look worn. They look stiff and solid, not like they’re soft and crumbling on the edges despite their worn backs. They don’t feel like much of anything to him, but he’s always been empty of magic. It’s the one thing that his father has always been proud of.
Magic feeling and the lack thereof thoroughly investigated, Ben wiggles his fingers. One of the cards on the left is sticking out of alignment a bit, so he moves toward that one, and then rests his finger on the card before it. Any changes always have a root cause, so it feels right to pick the card before the odd one out. “This one?”
Celia lets him pull the card.
The rest of her deck snaps back together like a fan, and Celia’s hand shoots out, palm up. “Now hand it over. And also, that'll be five dollars, no refunds or exchanges if you don't like my advice after."
"A wise business practice," Ben agrees, shifting so he can pull out his wallet. Five dollars might be a scam on the isle, but it won't get her far in Auradon, and for showmanship and card control alone, she deserves at least double that. "Here you are."
Celia takes the fifty-dollar note between two fingers, and there's a half-second of hesitation where Ben can see her eyes flickering over the number on the folded bill. They're supposed to be taking her off the isle because of her potential for goodness. Scamming the king out of fifty dollars isn't a very good thing to do, but Ben is remembering right, the isle kids are too proud to ask for money when they need it. And she will need it, because coming over with nothing but the clothes and personal items she can fit in her suitcase isn’t going to be enough. Giving money to the isle kids outright is awkward, and Ben still has a scar on his shoulder from where Mal pulled a knife on him after he tried to buy her a car, but making Celia feel like she’s cheating him for it might be too much of a risk in this case, with her so brand new and unsure of how to fit it.
So.
"I don't carry anything less than fifty," Ben lies, smiling. "You can give me another reading later, if you're up for it. Call it fair?"

Post-Dance AU (because I hate how George decided to completely eradicate the Greens *cough* Alicent’s *cough* line)
Jaehaera survives the assassination attempt by Unwin Peake because that poor girl did not deserve that horrific end and that’s that.
She and Aegon III bond over time, because these traumatized kids deserve some happiness and you know what? Maybe they are the only two people in the world right now who understand even a semblance of what the other has gone through (Aegon watched his mother die, Jaehaera watched her twin brother be slaughtered) and maybe they both recognize that neither of them is responsible for what their families did to each other so why should they resent one another?
Over time they become a great comfort to each other. On the days where one is particularly gloomy, the other sits by them and holds their hand and they are content to sit in silence together and neither needs to say what they’re feeling because the other already knows.
They are both very close with Gaemon Palehair. He and Aegon are close for the same reasons as within canon, while Jaehaera believes that Gaemon truly is her half-sibling, her last remaining brother.
Eventually, Alyn Velaryon brings Viserys II home from Essos, but the boy comes alone (a 12-year-old boy married to a 19-year-old woman, yeah I think the fuck not, not in my history, and besides even if they had been closer in age Larra Rogare hated Westeros so let her stay in Essos like she wanted and live her own life there and be happy).
Like in canon, Aegon is somewhat neglectful of his wife and friend in the wake of his brother’s return, but Jaehaera and Gaemon understand his actions. Anyway, they still have each other for company. Viserys is incredibly distrustful of Jaehaera, and Aegon pleads with Viserys to be more understanding of their marriage and the comfort they have found in each other.
Aegon decides to hold a feast to celebrate Viserys’s return. Viserys spends most of the festivities with Baela and Rhaena, preferring not to fraternize with the daughter of the man who killed his mother. In the company of his sisters is Daenaera Velaryon (aged up in to be closer in age to Viserys because an 11-year-old boy and a 6-year-old girl? It’s a no from me).
Daenaera manages to cheer Viserys with her happy nature, and he’s quite taken by how pretty she is. Unwin Peake, having never been exposed as the one behind Jaehaera’s assassination attempt (as is also the case in canon) brings his daughter to the feast in the hopes that she will catch the eye of Viserys, but Viserys has already taken a shine to Daenaera, ruining his plans once again.
The pair begin to exchange letters and (like Aegon and Jaehaera) bond over their losses. Viserys tells Aegon about his correspondence with Daenaera, and when Aegon tells Jaehaera, she decides to invite Daenaera to court as her lady-in-waiting. Viserys is delighted, and slowly begins to warm to Jaehaera.
As in canon, Aegon’s removal of the dragon eggs from the Red Keep causes a rift between the brothers. Unwin Peake continues to plot treason, conspiring to kill Aegon and Jaehaera so that Viserys may become King and take his daughter as his bride. But if his daughter is to become Viserys’s Queen, Daenaera Velaryon must also be removed. It is no secret by now that Viserys is very taken with the the girl, and intends to marry her.
Jaehaera and Daenaera eat the canonical poisoned tarts during a private dinner organized for the four. Aegon and Viserys narrowly avoid poisoning as they are delayed by a Small Council meeting. As in canon, Gaemon dies, devastating both Aegon and Jaehaera. The rift between Aegon and Viserys is mended as they help their respective ladies recover. Aegon and Jaehaera comfort each other through the loss of Gaemon, and Viserys proposes marriage to Daenaera, which she accepts. Oh, and Unwin Peake is finally exposed and executed (I still cannot believe this man escaped justice in canon, but not on my watch).
The four form a strong unit within the Red Keep and are, well, as happy as four traumatized young adults can be. They finally have the family each was deprived of at such a young age. Aegon eventually names Viserys his Hand, Jaehaera gives birth to Aegon’s five children, and Daenaera gives birth to Viserys’s three.
But unfortunately, canonical events must still come to pass. Aegon and Jaehaera pass away within months of each other in 157 AC; Daenaera dies some years later, and Viserys becomes his stern canonical self in the wake of her death. The crown passes from Aegon, to Daeron, to Baelor, to Viserys himself, to Aegon IV, who legitimizes the Blackfyres- who are now the descendants of both the Blacks and the Greens.
