I was bringing animals back to a zoo and I just grabbed a vulture off of an island in the middle of the ocean after which I flew back, spotted Mischa Bachinski in a car that was standing in a traffic jam. Then I delivered the vulture to my boss, Karnak, and in return, he paid me with a lollipop and headpats, at which I smiled and was very happy about.

my favorite versions of Karnak! MC on the left, OG in the middle, and DC on the right
you cant tell me this isnt their dynamic. MC and DC are probably singing showtunes, possibly even “Noel’s Lament,” lol

//intro post to explain this blog! :D This is an ask blog for DC Karnak (referred to as DC, tagged as DC Karnak) post-canon. It's an everyone lives/no one dies au where he is able to revive himself as well, accidentally turning himself human. The twist? He is the only one who came back to live. The only one who survived. Wandering out of the warehouse he now freely roams the streets of Uranium, after having taken a short break in a flowerfield. So, no reason to bore him! Send in some asks, entertain the man! Some examples for asks include: How did you get here? Who are you? Or how do you deal with mortality? No ask is too angsty or fluffy! You can ask anything, i will try to respond :] As for me? Well, you can call me Azrael! I go by he/they pronouns, feel free to ask me more or come join me as i try to explain the universes of the different Karnak blogs mixing!//

I saw a post where someone had said they saw a production in DC but couldn't remember the name. Her was the info in the post:
Mischa and Noel's chorography during Noel's lament was so cute like. 10/10. when Mischa offers Noel the rose and Noel gets pricked by it, instead of the iconic slap Mischa takes Noel's hand and kisses where he got pricked it was super cute
Mischa keeps picking up Noel during Noel's Lament as well. when he goes "Hey!" Noel flips over. like the upside down hold thing during dance. not a dip bc he's still being held. it was. CUTE. okay.
all of Ricky's photos were superhero comics ☹️
Ricky has more lines telling ocean to stfu
when Noel starts talking abt how he dies of typhoid flu, everyone drops to the ground and Jane Doe falls with her arms and legs in the air. so she's laying down like a Roblox character who's been :sit all / :stun all'd
people started clapping when Noel started rolling towards the front of the stage and his actor had to tell us to stop multiple times lol
when Karnak says "I present to you, the St. Cassian Chamber Choir." instead of drawing the curtains and showing them at their concert, the spin stage circle actually spins around and brings them on stage and they're standing like powered down animatronics
when Karnak replays their deaths and what happened before it they "wake up" like animatronics to start the song they performed at the concert.
the choir comes out holding flashlights during Jane's song to mimic all the people searching for her head
Jane's actress goes ham on how Jane is like a really nihilistic toddler during the Savannah scene
constance has the bi flag colors in her hair
I think that's Arena Stage! I've never watched it, but it has a turn table stage and Constance has highlighted hair.

in other news of things nobody here followed me for or knows about (contd from dc stuff): i started playing rf4 again (the special version actually. which i have never actually completed) and now im bored and Trapped Away From Games so i wanna do a belated liveblog:
im actually retrying a thing i gave up on a while ago which is to drag the first arc out as long as possible. well the original idea was to get married before leon karnak for the alleged unique spouse cutscene that gives you, but i dont think im romancing anyone on this run so now i'm just taking my time for no real reason. also it's hell mode
actually i decided that it was feasible based on calendars to try and time all the guardian releases for their actual birthday. so i am now stuck not progressing past water ruins until fall. im killing time by trying to fight my way through yokmir cave to get to that little deposit of bronze that's up there (because of the aforementioned hell mode this is Not Easy)
i stupidly shipped the first bronze you get out of a request, which was a total waste, bc i forgot raven gates her inventory based on your story progression so she won't actually Stock bronze yet so i just chucked that incredibly valuable earlygame resource into the void. rip. you DO get a second one eventually which i am saving for mail since i think that's the most worth it right now
however RAVEN REDEMPTION ARC: apparently (in the special version at least, i could have sworn this wasn't how it worked in the original) the boss drop from water ruins got added to the loot table for requests as soon as the dungeon unlocked, rather than after you actually beat the boss?? which means that i could get a lightning mane from a randon rq, ship it, and then buy them back off raven to buff all my gear with. granted the stats it gives you aren't crazy BUT the diz res is real nice and for early game +7def is still pretty worth it
im also doing a staff run, which is good for this kinda run bc you can forge a ~lvl30 staff with just an earth crystal which is real easy to come by (as opposed to other weapons, which require materials that i'm locked out of rn) ... however the actual damage stat for staves is kind of really shitty compared to other weapons (prolly bc it's primarily m.atk and early game enemies don't have a ton of m.def?) so an invisiblade might end up being better anyway idk.
however a BONUS of staves is ambrosia's thorns give you the heal effect on charge 2 from the boss's like, radar stun attack. and healing is INVALUABLE in this stage. so i am probably sticking with this
another thing i should probably do but don't rrreally feel like doing is taming a high orc / orc archer to go through the cave with. that would probably significantly increase my survival rate
also storywise, i don't think there's anything crazy that i've discovered from dragging my heels on the main storyline but i DID get to that cutscene where you and venti talk about earthmates and your memories and i am rotating the "it's all so surreal. like i'm a stranger to myself." bit

okay i know i'm probably jinxing myself by mentioning the batfamily here, but i'm going to ask anyway
Who would win: The Batfamily from DC vs The Inhuman Royal Family from Marvel
In the blue corner we have:
A dysfunctional family of martial artist geniuses who specialise in planning for every contingency! Give it up for.... the Bats!
Tumblr media
Strengths: previous dealing with shit like General Zod and Darkseid. Good at figuring out their opponents. Robin's sword. Black Bat.
Weaknesses: squishy. care about human life. very rarely deal with true neutral enemies so may just be too confused to figure out a strategy.
And in the Red Corner:
A super dysfunctional family of inbred amoral superpowered weirdos who specialise in committing war crimes and then refusing to explain why! Iiiiiiiiit's... the House of Agon!
Tumblr media
Strengths: Black Bolt can liquify a human by saying a single word. Medusa is absolutely always willing to stab a bitch and Crystal can control the elements. Karnak can find his opponent's greatest weakness by looking at them, and possesses basic common sense.
Weakness: At least two members of the family are going through a messy divorce (usually from one another) at any given time. Black Bolt really doesn't like liquifying people so will avoid using it unless absolutely necessary potentially giving the bats time to neutralise him. Crystal controls rather than creates so unless Jason is smoking she cannot set anyone on fire. Triton is a fishman with the power of being a fishman and cannot breath on land. Lockjaw is a dog with the intelligence and reasoning capacity of a dog.

how do you think the different versions of human Karnak would react to being flirted with? heres what i think but id love to hear more ideas
OG: super uncomfortable with flirting, would never initiate or engage. it takes him a while to figure out if someones flirting with him and it usually takes a third party to clue him in on whats happening. depending on who it is, he may find it endearing rather than uncomfortable, but either way, he'll let them know hes not interested (i hc OG specifically as aroace sooo...)
DC: the biggest flirt of the three imo, and hes really suave about it. he gives foxy gay grandpa vibes. hes the type to flirt platonically with adults hes comfortable with; whether or not they know hes just messing around depends on the person. noels mom (i call her molly, jsyk) pulled him aside one day and explained she was flattered but uninterested and hes just like "oh honey, you dont have to worry about that" and it gave her flashbacks to when noel came out to her. has definitely flirted with father marcus once lol
MC: if you think this man is straight, youre wrong, sorry. he might get in a flirty mood from time to time when hes around attractive men. hes oblivious when ppl flirt with/are interested with him though. like OG can figure it out given enough time, but MC would never. and being so conventionally attractive, he does have a lot of ppl in town interested in him

He continues looking around, calling out for them, not stopping even as his legs begin to hurt, looking around the entire park with tears in his eyes. He refuses to let Karnie go, not willing to lose another child.//

Watchmaker
Tumblr media
WATCHMEN #4 DECEMBER 1986 BY ALAN MOORE, DAVE GIBBONS AND JOHN HIGGINS
Tumblr media
SYNOPSIS (FROM DC DATABASE)
On Mars, Dr. Manhattan drops the photograph of himself and Janey Slater on the Martian soil and revisits various turning points in his life.
In August 7th of 1945, a sixteen-year-old Jon Osterman is in the middle of assembling a watch when his father, a watch-maker, shows him the news of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima. Confronted with the undeniable facts of the theory of relativity, the elder Osterman declares his profession outdated and throws his son's watch-making parts out the windows, urging Jon to instead pursue a career studying nuclear physics. Jon does so in which he attended Princeton University in 1948, and graduating with a Ph.D in atomic physics in 1958.
By 1959, Jon is employed at Gila Flats in Arizona, where experiments are being performed concerning the 'intrinsic fields' of physical objects. He meets Professor Milton Glass, his colleague Wally Weaver, and his love interest Janey Slater. During a trip to New Jersey, Jon and Janey visit an amusement park. There, Janey's watchbrand breaks and is accidentally stepped on by a fat man. Jon decide to fix the watch and finally consummate his relationship with Janey.
One month later, on August, shortly after his thirtieth birthday, Jon plans to give Janey the repaired watch, only to discover he has left it in his lab coat which is inside the intrinsic field experiment test chamber. When retrieving his coat inside the chamber, he is accidentally lock in. Once Professor Glass and the others found Jon, they are shocked and horrified. Glass tells John that the chamber's door has locked automatically and the generators have already began warming up to begin an experiment: removing the intrinsic field from cell block fifteen. Jon is locked in and the door cannot be open or override the countdown. Jon could only accept death and examines the watch he has put back together while his colleagues - except Janey, who cannot bear to see the last moment and flees the room - watch in horror as the countdown reaches zero. Jon is disintegrated in a flash of light.
A month later, a series of strange events occur at Gila Flats involving the apparitions of a disembodied human circulatory nervous system, a circulatory, and a muscled skeleton which last for seconds. The residents believed the facility to be haunted until on November 22nd, Jon returns as a tall, hairless, naked, blue-skinned man with incredible abilities. Jon return to his life with Janey, but remains somewhat emotionless and distant among his peers.
Tumblr media
A year later, on February 1960, the American government recruited Jon as their military asset and touted him before the public as "Dr. Manhattan," the first super-hero. He is also provided with a costume which he grudgingly accepts, though he refuses to accept the icon design which is provided for him (this being a stylized orbital model of the atom). Instead, Jon chooses as his emblem a representation of a hydrogen atom, whose simplicity he declares to be something that kindles his respect; accordingly, he painlessly burns the mark into his forehead. Despite being considered America's greatest weapon, Jon wasn't able to prevent certain disasters such as the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, even though he is aware it is going to happen as he meets the President.
Tumblr media
By 1966, during the first and only meeting of the Crimebusters, Jon fell in love with the then sixteen-year-old Silk Spectre, Laurie Juspeczyk, and bitterly ending his marriage with Janey. By 1970, Jon's true name is revealed to the public as his father had passed away in 1969 and there is no reason to conceal it.
In 1971, Jon was requested by President Richard Nixon in intervening in the Vietnam War alongside the Comedian. Within two months, the United States had won the war and forever tipping the balance of the Cold War in the West's favor. In 1975, Nixon proposed a new constitutional amendment that would allow the President to have an extended term in office. Amidst all this, Adrian Veidt publicly reveal his identity as Ozymandias and announcing his retirement from costumed heroics. Veidt invited Jon and Laurie to visit his Antarctic retreat Karnak. During a conversation between Veidt and Jon, the world have radically changed since the last fifteen years from quantum physics to transportation all thanks to Jon.
Tumblr media
During the Police Strike of 1977, Jon and Laurie handled the riots in Washington, D.C. in which the former dispelled the rioters by teleporting them back to their homes. This caused two people to suffered heart attacks. Following the riots, the U.S. government passed an emergency bill (the Keene Act) proposed by Senator Keene which made vigilantism illegal and exempting registered adventurers such as Jon and the Comedian. Laurie and Dan Dreiberg retired their identities of Silk Spectre and Nite Owl, while Rorschach remains active in which he respond his feelings towards compulsory retirement by leaving a note on the dead body of a multiple rapist outside police headquarters. In 1985, Jon recalls walking in New York with Laurie and buying a Time magazine commemorating Hiroshima Week, and finally the events that lead him to leave for Mars.
Tumblr media
Jon construct a giant, glass structure that rises from the soil while wondering if events had gone differently if he didn't become Dr. Manhattan. He then stands on the balcony of his structure to watch a meteorite shower.
DR. MANHATTAN: SUPER-POWERS AND SUPERPOWERS
In his book Doctor Manhattan, Super Powers and the Superpowers, Professor Milton Glass, the director of Gila Flats and sponsor of Dr. Manhattan, discuss his misgivings of Dr. Manhattan. Prof. Glass dispel the myth that he was the one who came up with the popular phrase "The superman exists and he's American" that described Manhattan in his public appearance by the American media. He instead said the chilling quote "God exist and he's American."
Glass states that the god-like Manhattan proved valuable as a pawn for the United States, in which his powers would allow him in defending the country from Soviet retaliation with ease and arguably forcing the Soviets to never risk a full-scale global conflict. Despite Manhattan's presence which have curbed Soviet adventurism, this does not spell global peace but only to exacerbate the Cold War.
To understand the mindset of the Soviet Union, Glass looks to the Russians' contributions in the Second World War and conclude that the Soviets would do anything to protect their nation from threats such as Manhattan no matter what the cost. This is supported by the sharp increase of Soviet and American nuclear stockpiles since the advent of Manhattan and making the possibility of Mutually Assured Destruction. Unfortunately, the Nixon administration does not share Prof. Glass' concerns and have become intoxicated with having a superhuman being to continually promote American interests unopposed.
Aside from affecting the international sense, Manhattan had also changed the domestic sense in which he contributed advanced technology such as electric cars and clean, economical airships. Thus, human culture have contort itself to accommodate Manhattan. Glass conclude that "We are all of us living in the shadow of Manhattan."
REVIEW
Some things work in Watchmen, that shouldn’t. One of those cases is this issue. It looks like a big departure from the murder mystery of the first issue, but all the story elements introduced here are essential to understand “the plan”.
This is also one of the chapters of Watchmen you will remember.
The script for this comic is filled with little gems, and paired with the art it takes into a different level. It is hard to tell how much Moore or Gibbons is in the art. Moore’s scripts are too detailed, but every now and then, Gibbons would improvise over the less detailed panels. Details may be Moore’s script, but the vision and everything we remember, comes from Gibbons.
This issue also explains why history on this Earth is so different than ours. This would be later explored in Tom Strong (by Alan Moore and Chris Sprouse), where the existence of a super-hero changes history (in that case it’s a more classic super-hero).
To be continued...

Back in the days of the Prophet Jeremiah, the Promised Land was a nation SPLIT, right down the middle. Jeremiah contains History lessons that we can LEARN FROM, to avoid MANY of the same errors which led to Israel being invaded, and OVERTAKEN, by foreign conquerors. The United States is vulnerable. She is going through a Reformation. The question is, who will REFORM 🇺🇸 HER FASTER: babylon, or Beulah?

What is Adrian Veidt talking about, when he FIRST sees Trieu’s Millennium Clock in action? His lines are “Israel is DESOLATE, and her seed is no MORE. Palestine is become a widow for Egypt.”
youtube
⬆️ THIS is an excerpt from the inscription on the antiquity Merneptah Stele, dating from 1208 B.C., the ONLY surviving textual reference to Israel, from ancient Egypt.
The stele mostly deals with an Egyptian military campaign Phaero/Pharaoh Merneptah led, against Libyans, but the LAST lines deal with a campaign against Israel most likely.
Wilhelm Spiegelberg, the FIRST person to translate the stele after it's discovery in 1896, rendered those lines THIS way:*
"The people of Israel is laid waste,—their crops are not. Khor (Palestine) has become as a widow for Egypt. All lands together, they are in peace. Every one who roamed about is punished by King Merenptah, gifted with life, like the sun every day."
Arch-villain Veidt’s translation, using “seed” instead of “crops,” has obvious resonances when spoken by a man who believes he is about to watch his Daughter become a god, or die trying. The lines he omits, about an all-powerful ruler uniting the world and punishing evildoers, also seem apt.
Merneptah Stele was found right across the Nile from Karnak, the Egyptian temple complex that Adrian Veidt named his Antarctic retreat, AFTER.
There’s MORE: Merneptah was the son of Ramesses II, whom the Greeks called Ozymandias, the name of Adrian Veidt, when dressed as a supervillain.
Daughter Trieu reached to the heavens, in an unsuccessful attempt to literally become Doctor Frankenstein, an AKA Mary Shelley's modern-day Prometheus, who dares to steal the power of omnipotent creation, AWAY FROM the Creator of EVERYTHING.
In Ancient Greek mythology, Prometheus is a blood relative of Princess Diana (Wonder Woman) and both of their stories relate to ORIGINAL sources of light.
Tumblr media
Exact sentiments that are echoed, in the Book of Jeremiah.

2019 will be deservedly remembered as an EPIC "Year of the Watchmen".

Lockjaw #4 Review
spoilers spoilers spoilers spoilers spoilers spoilers spoilers spoilers spoilers
The wild ride comes to an even wilder conclusion as Lockjaw and D-Man face off against the dreaded Annihilus!  The final issue of a terrific miniseries  from the creative team of Daniel Kibbelsmith, Carlos Villa, Roberto Poggi and Chris O’Halloran.  Recap and review following the jump.
A mysterious signal has sent Lockjaw on a quest to ensure his siblings are all safe.  The down on his luck retired superhero, Dennis ‘D-Man’ Dumphrey, has stumbled into accompanying Lockjaw as the adventure has traversed nearly every corner of the multiverse.
It turned out that the signal was sent by Lockjaw’s sister, Doc Jaw, a highly intelligent doggo from he anthropomorphic universe (just roll with it, okay?).  Anyways, Doc Jaw had sent out this signal hoping it would beckon Lockjaw so he could save his brother from the Negative Zone where the evil Annihilus was trying to use him to gain an unlimited portal through which he hoped to conquer the multiverse.  What, what?
Tumblr media
But first Lockjaw must remember how to teleport tot he multiverse and recalling this information requires venturing into the dreamscape where the memory can be unlocked from his unconscious.  Huh?
Whatever.  In the dreamscape, Lockjaw and D-Man meet Sleepwalker, defender of the dream-realm.  As Sleepwalker explains the dreamscape offers visages of distant memories and Lockjaw is able to see the circumstances of his origin.
Tumblr media
Many years ago, an Inhuman of the lower caste named Myrren Barabus ventured beyond the confines of Attilan into the forbidden world of mankind.  There she saw  a mistreated dog and mistook it for a human infant.   Myrren took the dog back to Attilan hoping to save her.
Tumblr media
Myrren was arrested by the Royal Guard and the dog she abducted was handed over to the Genetic Council and it’s unscrupulous Surgeon Supreme.   The Surgeon Supreme had been made privy to King Agon and Queen Rynda’s efforts to expand upon the potentialities of Terrigenesis by exposing their unborn child to the Terrigen Mists whist still in the womb.  Before they conducted this experiment, however, Agon wanted to ensure the process was safe and tasked the Surgeon Supreme to conduct preliminary trials on in vitro Terrigenesis.
Tumblr media
The Surgeon Supreme utilized animals as test subjects in his experiments and the dog Myrren had unwittingly brought to him proved a successful subject.  The Surgeon Supreme used cloned cells to make the dog pregnant and then subjected her to a specially rendered form of the Terrigen Mist.  The experiment was a success and one of the puppies gestating in her womb was endowed with Inhuman powers.
Tumblr media
This pup was Lockjaw and along with enhanced strength and size and the ability to teleport over vast distances, he was additionally empowered with a preternatural sense of awareness.  Even as a pre-born pup, Lockjaw was able to ascertain that his siblings were at risk of being test subjects for the sinister Surgeon Supreme’s ongoing experiments.  So to save his brothers and sister, Lockjaw used his teleportation powers to transport each to a safe location… his brother was taken to Brooklyn, his sister was taken to the Savage Land, his other sister was brought to the Larval Earth and anthropomorphic universe, and his other brother was taken to the Negative Zone (which Lockjaw had mistakenly believed a safe location).
Tumblr media
Seeing and reliving these memories is difficult for Lockjaw, but does achieve a goal.  Doc Jaw has been monitoring his and D-Man’s journey through the dreamscape and when Lockjaw relives the process of depositing his brother in the Negative Zone Doc Jaw is able to get a fix on the frequency of the teleportation which can now be used to enable Lockjaw to return there and save their brother from Annihilus.
Tumblr media
Which they do… barely giving D-Man a moment to catch his breath…  And before you know it, the duo are facing off against the dreaded Annihilus.  The villainous lord of the Negative Zone is just as fond of exposition as Doc Jaw and he explains that he utilized technology stolen from he High Evolutionary to recreate a temporary version of Lockjaw’s teleportation powers rom his brother (or something like that).
Tumblr media
But Annihilus wants the real deal, he wants to use Lockjaw himself and thus have unlimited access to the multiverse; and is pleased that D-Man has been so foolish as to so deliver his dog to the Negative Zone.
D-Man declares that Lockjaw is not his dog, he is his own dog.  And with this, the time for exposition is done and battle is on.
Tumblr media
Lockjaw attacks Annihilus, mayhem ensues.  D-Man can barely breath in the toxic atmosphere of the Negative Zopne.  He realizes he still has the special inhaler Doc Jaw had given him.  He doesn’t know what this inhaler does, but is desperate enough to try it.  It turns out that the inhaler contains a temporary DNA recombinant formula that transforms D-Man into an anthropomorphic dragon-like creature.  Holy crap!

The dragonnized D-Man jumps into the fray.  Lockjaw’s powers seem to surge during the battle.  The whole lot of them are transported all over the multiverse as the fight rages on.  They bounce from Asgard to the Ultimate Universe to the DC comics universe and even the realm between universes where Val and Franklin Richards have been kicking it with their parents ever since the Secret Wars event (great to see them again!).

The finally end up in prehistoric times.  Lockjaw head butts Annihilus off of a cliff.  Yet Annihilus can fly and he goads him for his stupidity.  No sooner does he do this  then a giant Megalodon springs up from the ocean below and gobbles Annihilus up!

The villain has been defeated and Lockjaw’s brother has been saved.  D-Man’s dragonization wears off and Lockjaw teleports him back home where his sister is quite relived to see him.  D-Man is a good guy and has been a good friend; and Lockjaw is confident leaving his brother in his care.

Lockjaw then returns home to Arctillan and waddles by Luna, Karnak, Black Bolt and Medusa to make sure all is well.

He gets a knowing nod of approval from Back Bolt and then snuggles up for a well-deserved rest whist thinking about his beloved siblings.  And it is here that the adventure comes to its conclusion.

Bananas.  Lockjaw is a wonderfully wacky character and Daniel Kibblesmith and company craft a story that is equally wonderful and wacky, very wacky.   The plot is hugely complicated, overly intricate and relies too heavily on exposition to explain itself.  Yet the plot is sort of beside the point.  It’s just there as a means to tell Lockjaw’s origin, introduce his siblings, offer up some action, show off the more bizarre corners of the Marvel Universe and re-present D-Man as a character we need to see much more of in the future.
The convoluted nature in which Lockjaw’s origin is shown notwithstanding, the origin itself is extremely cool and inventive… it succeeds in rooting Lockjaw into the darker, more unsavory backdrop of The Inhumans of Old Attilan.  Like Black Bolt, Lockjaw is the product of cruel experimentation, both victims of science without scruples and the ruling Inhumans’ unyielding quest to advance their genetic evolution.   Kibblesmith does a neat job of linking up Lockjaw’s backstory to Black Bolt’s origin (as it has been told in previous tales) yet does so in a fashion that remains true to the tenor of the story at hand.  Which is a rather fancy trick considering how easily the matter of animal cruelty can derail a story (looking at you, Wes Anderson).

The art by Villa, Poggi and O’Halloran matches perfectly the tone of the story, fun and silly but with pronounced hints of real peril.  The script makes some serious demands of the art squad, packing in a lot of action in a lot of different settings... including illustrating the interior of a dog’s womb... but Villa and the gang are more than up to the challenge.
Despite the overly hectic plot, this series was just a joy to read and I just loved meeting lockjaw’s brothers and sisters.  Most surprising was how much I liked D-Man and I do hope his story gets picked up on elsewhere some time soon.

The Death of The Inhumans is right around the corner and I’m already steeling myself for the direness that tale is certain to bring about.  In the meantime, I’m just going to bash in the unadulterated silly fun that this series has offered up.
Four our of five Lockjaws for the issue…

Five out of five Lockjaws for the series as a whole.
