I know I’ve said this before on here but I’ll say it again because I’m doing a rewatch because why the hell not:
Ghost Whisperer was a much better show when it was doing creepy mytharc plots. I again just finished all the plane crash stuff from the end of season one and it was *chef’s kiss.* The signs leading up to the plane crash. The frozen ghosts. The foreshadowing with Andrea’s brother. (Or, well, with Andrea, period.) Melinda’s frantic search for a recent downed plane only to have the pilot finally tell her that they’re still in the air. The plane streaking low across Main Street and the final boom as it crashes just off camera.
You guys, that shit is gold.
Even the mass crossing-over from the second part beautifully works, in all its cheesiness, partly because the stage was set for it but also because of the select few that decide to stay with Creepy Hat Guy, who seems to want to use spirits for unknown nefarious purposes.
And I know there’s more stuff like this ahead, the stuff about the lost souls in the tunnels under Grandview (and the fact that those tunnels are in fact another town under Grandview) and even the stuff in the last season about the bad spirits (shadows) trying to swallow up the good spirits, which were eventually revealed to be spirits of children.
I mean, I like the show, clearly, enough that I’m doing a rewatch but it does kinda bum me out sometimes that 90% of the show was essentially Touched by an Angel, but with ghosts, when they were so good at the creepy stuff on the rare occasions they did do it.

phil symbolizing dan’s comfort zone and his home in his 2021 pride video made me sob like a baby the second time watching it
the way he has to send phil away in order to be self-introspective, regretful, and sad reminded me when they said in dystopia daily that dan had tried to move away from phil because he was too “comfortable” and phil was just like “no.”
AND THE WAY that after dan completed his introspective journey in his queer identity and was super overwhelmed he called for phil to help.
dan howell is an actual genius!! the more we learn about his journey the more the i understand his artistic decisions in his projects and i love it

Emma: I kissed him.
Snow: Who?
Okay, this cracks me up because Snow, honey, there are only two men you've been wandering around Neverland with and one of them is a (hot) pirate and one of them is EMMA'S FATHER. Which one did you really think she kissed?!
