wait wait wait i actually have a genuine research question i’ve been curious about for a while

we’re talking whichever wacky critter ORIGINALLY got you super stoked for the speedy hedgehog - whether it was five-year-old you or just recently, whoever lived in your head first i wanna know…. i’ve got a theory :]

I'm not including a situation where someone might be injured because in that case I'm thinking the bed goes to them by default or they are nominated for it. anyone who wants to be chatty goes to join the living room floor gang.

What are your thoughts and headcanons? Do you have thoughts on how the boys tend to approach assigning beds in inns? Who do the chain choose to sleep near when camping and why? What are their dynamics like when settling down for the night and getting ready for the day?

In "Mirror Vs Open Closet Door: Fight!" by Gintrinsic (here) Four refers to the chain's decision on how to split up between inn rooms as the "Link-per-room ratio" which I find very funny. He, Sky, and Time also talk about their thought process behind why they do or don't want to sleep in a room with some of the others which I find fun and interesting.

What do you think happens most often though?#each answer is a fun scenario so it's difficult to choose #but I think they'd try to act politely around Malon and Time for the first couple visits with straws or rock paper scissors #or showing generosity by offering the bed to someone else. (I bet Malon saying they're charming is quite the incentive #for more possible compliments. The chain as a whole would want to prove her right xD )#Once they're more comfortable in the house though I can totally see Wind and Legend making a mad dash for it while Wars yells after them xD #Wind probably ends up sharing with Four a lot since they're the littles #or Wind snuggles in with Wars Legend Wild etc #Wild and Twi/Wolfie have claimed the spot on the floor by the fireplace.#For inn rooms / castle rooms / camping - I tend to group them by how they're grouped a lot already #but a lil mixed up #Time - Sky - Wars are the good rest trio. they want a good night's rest please let them get their beauty sleep. often joined by Four #Wars goes between this group and wherever Legend is depending on how chatty he is that night.#Twi - Wild - Hyrule are snuggle/proximity buddies #Legend is attached to Hyrule's hip or sets up near Warriors to gossip and gripe. I can also see him setting up near Wild #in the eye of the storm as it were or just an interesting place to be. Wild and Hyrule can get to chatting about everything and anything #so if Legend wants background noise (Hyrule and Wild podcast omg)-#or a conversation he can be half a part of and jump in and out of while getting ready for the night or in the mornings-#this is a good place to be. add Wind and things get a bit more chaotic.#Wind gravitates to Wars and Legend too when curious and chatty. He gravitates towards Time when he wants something calmer.#Four tends to be near Sky or Twi or to Legend's group for the same reasons #I can see Four and Twi having a little book club going during downtimes where they talk about what they're reading. Sky likes to listen. <3 #Wind thinks they're nerds but so is he and he can't resist a good story so he orbits and sometimes settles in and peppers questions.#it's funny that Time Sky and Wars want to sleep the most but Legend follows Wars to chat (and ends up bringing people with him xD )#there could be some conflict there oooo #Twi is by Time #it's almost a circle but with clusters of sleeping bags near on top of each other and filling the gaps

historically jordancon has been a venue for casting announcements - we got aviendha in 2022 and several s2 secondary characters in 2023. do you think we'll get any s3 casting announcements this year (april)? if so, who? my money is on faile, galad*, and GAWYN PLEASE GOD TELL ME WHO'S PLAYING HIM IN APRIL I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE

ahem anyway. my reasoning is that those 3 are in the same bucket as aviendha was in 2022. it's too far away from the new season's release to discuss anything substantial about the season's content or to formally announce the casting of older/better-known actors whose announcements could be saved to help marketing closer to the season's release (i'd put elaida & morgase in this bucket for s3, with the equivalent being verin for s2; and then forsaken castings i'd bet they want to keep secret as long as they can), but the castings of younger/lesser-known actors as major book characters would be a great New Season Treat to drop this early and in this book-fan venue. general audiences wouldn't care much about a few 27-year-old actors they've never heard of being cast as characters whose names don't yet mean anything to them, but book fans would be very excited about it! and that is why i'm putting on my clown shoes and hoping for gawyn casting news in april (or sooner if the leakers take pity on me).

*we do already know faile & galad casting from leaks, but i'm talking official announcements here!

not to hot take after pulling a sickie all-nighter again but i do think Doctor/Donna would be a more popular pairing if CTate was and had been a thin 20 to 30 year old. like, i feel like there's some unconscious dismissals happening thanks to her not fitting an expect 'type'

yeah yea 'best mates' and 'siblings energy' are valid reasons not to ship it, but like.... I shipped rose/nine like crazy, the chemistry was so good, but I then felt like ten/rose had 'best mates' and 'siblings' energy, yet the default reading of ten/rose is romantic while the default reading of Donna (and Martha lbr) got set to 'that's his FRIEND, it's never romantic' with a lot more people just. never bothering to look at it from another angle or try to see how anyone could want to see them together.

#doctor x donna #idk it's just that i've always shipped it the most of any of Ten's pairings and i've seen it icked or laughed off since 2008 #and definitely has less fic than a lot of the nuwhu pairings #though what there is is *wonderful* imo #just. i do think it plays a factor in people not even getting curious #i'll entertain most doctor ships enough to read a few fics but i don't think that's broadly the case anymore #i suppose partly because the fandom is soooo much bigger than 2005 to 2009 lj comms era #you simply couldn't afford to be picky if you wanted a decent amount to read lol

#to clarify for anyone unfamiliar with the us legal system bc the game itself gets it wrong: law licenses are state by state #and montana and georgia specifically have different bar exams #and multiple characters refer to him being a lawyer in the past tense.#which i think could allowably mean ‘‘before the reaping’’ or that it’s no longer his *primary* occupation #but i think ‘‘before he came to hope county’’ is more straightforward #and while i certainly think he was de facto operating as legal counsel for the cult and characters mention him doing so #most of what he was doing wasn’t anything that would require he actually be a lawyer #like he was just doing bribes and threats and negotiations any old guy could do that.#i don’t think his ass ever stood up in a court of law in montana and entered his appearance on a case.#and there would be several reasons he wouldn’t want to draw the heat of submitting to a fresh character and fitness exam to be admitted #(i do not acknowledge the dlc as canon but i begrudgingly admit it supports my argument here)#anyways.#this could be a fandom settled discussion i just missed. but people (including myself) often refer to him as a lawyer in present tense #so i am curious how many of us mean that as in literally licensed in montana #john seed #only polite discourse please

#im not (physically) disabled nor have i played enough ifs to say but ive been getting into them more recently #and now im curious- are there any ifs where people are able to customize their characters disabilities/mobility aids?#im not talking about ones that are plot relevant (like losing a limb or getting a curse or things like that)#im talking about like. during character creation. like for example a character having constant pain in their shoulders or chronic migraines #and maybe specifying that they use canes/rollators/wheelchairs etc to get around #or maybe sunglasses/earbuds to deal with sensory overload #and if not then why? is it just because potential disabilities and how they affect a person are too vast to fit into character creation #or require too many instances to keep track of? i assume that depending on the severity then itll affect a lot of how they do things #ig thinking about that all the time would be a lot #or is it just a story thing? like most of the stories would be derailed by trying to keep track of it #idk like i said im not disabled #i wouldnt know lol #but im curious what others think of this? like. are there things im not taking into consideration about this #ramblings

Hrmm... put together a roommates quiz finally after years of thinking it would be an interesting idea lol.. Though obviously not meant to be taken super seriously, I just like thinking about this aspect of personality compatibility. Like yeah, maybe you could get along with someone just chatting with them, but living together is such a different thing. .. curiouse...

#Not that I think that many people would really care since I barely know anyone on tumblr in real life and would never live with random #internet strangers lol but... idk.. I made this to give to friends from time to time and thought... why not post it here too #just out of sheer curiosity if anyone takes it what the most common results would be and etc.#My initial assumption is that most people would probably fall into the 'maybe' category and that either extreme of 'best roomates'#and 'worst roomates' would be the least common #very long also since I like to be thorough I guess #THOUGH... upon second thought... tumblr is home of the like Weird Introverts Who Sit Inside All The Time.. so maybe it's more #likely to come across compatible poeple on here. given that many of the questions are about how meticulous #people are with their scehdules or how often they invite friends over or if they like to mostly stay inside etc.#(since personally I think having a roommate coming and going and bringing random people over all the time would be too chaotic #lol... I need a peaceful quiet household)#Also I kind of don't like the way uquiz seems to do results. I was hoping it would be a number tally? I used some sort of quiz making site #before where you weight the question responses with a number (so the 'Best' response is worth a 0 #The worst is worth like 5 points. and all the in between are like 1 - 4 points or something). So then it is actually possible to have a #''perfect score'' category (someone who gets a literal 0 points). and also you could weight some EXTREMELY bad answers #to add like +10 to the score instead of just +5. And someone who got the MAX possible points would be the WORST compatibility. etc.#But uquiz seems to just be like ''which category did you score towards the MOST'. So someone can give some pretty bad answers #that are VERY non compatible. but as long as MOST of their answers landed in a 'compatible' category #then they would still be listed as compatible despite still actually having some dealbreakers in there. Which is also possible with the #'every answer is a number amount' ranking system too. but I feel like that one does allow for a little more customization #and accuracy (like making the dealbreakers add like...+40 to the score or something so that #there's basically NO way that someone could answer with one of those and still get a good score. Or the ability to have a literal #'perfect score' (getting a zero) etc.#BUt anyway lol... inchresting.. inchresting... curious to consider maybe making a uquiz #for the characters in the gameI'm making like.. which npc are you type quiz or something #now that I've made one and seen how it works.. hrmm hrmm....#(< game will not even be done for like another year but still thinking about nonsense like this lol)
