The Disappearance of Kristina Branum and Christopher Mittendorf 

On the 27th of July 2006, Kristina Branum, 17, and her boyfriend, Christopher Mittendorf, 21, vanished from Hardin County, Tennessee. The couple were living with Christopher’s mother, Cheryl Flatt. Kristina and Christopher had gone shopping on the day of their disappearance, but when Cheryl returned home, the pair had gone leaving he clothes they had bought on the bed. Neither have been seen nor heard from since. 

Five days later, the car the couple were driving was discovered by a pond in a rural area in central Tennessee. One of their mobile phones and other personal belongings were found inside. A witness reported seeing Kristina and Christopher get into a white car and drive away. There have also been other potential sightings in Tennessee and Oklahoma. However, none of these have been confirmed. 

Cheryl believed that a man named George Edward Baugus may have knowledge about her son and his girlfriend’s disappearance. George, who was also known as “Bad Egg”, had several criminal convictions for drug and theft related offences. He was murdered in March 2007 by his wife. She admitted killing her husband but claimed self-defence and was acquitted at trial in 2011. Cheryl claimed that she found a lockbox in her home containing some of George’s items and believed the couple had burglarised his home prior to their disappearance.

Following Kristina’s disappearance, her brother was shot and killed by his employer in 2008. 

As of 2023, what happened to Kristina and Christopher remains unknown. 

She needs to be in a psychiatric care facility. Not jail or prison. She didn’t harm anyone. She just wasted time which is very bad but not a call to take up space in a place where actual criminals should be

The podcast turned out a little different than I intended. Or, better said, very different. It's not about veterans anymore. Except for me, I'm still a veteran and I'm in it. But it turned into a true crime podcast. Probably way more interesting to most people. You can thank my flatmate for that, @detectivesholmes. Now the podcast is about him and his work. I'm documenting his adventures. Being a detective, solving crimes, and all that. And, of course, about his own brilliant and bizarre self. I even named it after him, Sherlock & Co. If you wonder who the Co. is, that's me. The first episode is fully dedicated to him and our first meeting. It's called Mr. Sherlock Holmes. Finally got done with the editing. Just watching how Ramon acts with sunny you can see how much he cares for her he doesn't want her to go through all of the things he has (even though she and the other new eggs probably went through some stuff on egg island) like all that kid wants is for his family to be safe and now this with forever threatening all the eggs he must be more scared than ever there's only so much he can do to protect her from that gun

The Murder of Linda Ann Smith

Linda Ann Smith was a 12-year-old schoolgirl from Essex, UK. She was the oldest of six children and was known as, ‘Little Miss Friendly,’ to her neighbours.

On 16th January 1961, Linda was last seen wearing her school uniform and walking to her local newsagents to buy her great-grandmother a newspaper, she ran this errand most days and it took her around 15 minutes. She was seen looking inside the newsagents at around 5.10pm but not going inside and then crossing the road. Although the street was busy, Linda was not seen again and seemingly vanished. When Linda did not return home, the police were called and hundreds of people helped with the search.

Linda’s body was found four days later in a field 29km away. She had been strangled with her school scarf and the body had been covered with her coat. Linda’s coat still contained the money she had been going to use to buy the paper. A red substance believed to be paint, and traces of flour were found on the body. One of Linda’s shoes was missing and has never been found. A reindeer mint was also found near her body, this candy was sold at a local convenience store close to where Linda went missing. Tyre tracks were also in the field leading away to the road.

Despite widespread media interest in the case, no arrests were made and the person who murdered Linda remains uncaught. Suffolk police have stated the case is actively by cold case teams although admit the chances of bringing Linda’s killer to justice after all this time are ‘extremely remote.’

Neighbors, Carlee Russell may have arrived to her parents’ house barefoot, but it now appears she’s been given a boot…from her job that is!

According to Daily Mail, she’s been fired from her job at a spa. On July 13th she was caught on camera stealing items from her employer. She reportedly took a dark bath robe and toilet paper.

Her boss, Stuart Rome, says “It was really devastating for them thinking a co-worker was abducted.” “The following day, Saturday, it was the busiest day of the week, and they had to plug along and work,” he continued.

He says the spa has been affected and swarmed with negative comments on social media, “We’re just trying to keep the doors open,” he explained.
