I told my church choir director about my plan to transition last night. We were both several drinks deep at the bar and having a heart-to-heart. He was supportive and said he is ultimately very excited to see me becoming myself, but admitted he feels not having me as a soprano in his choir would be a huge loss. Naturally, I’m pretty conflicted about that. I really hate to inconvenience people, and I’m terrified of people pitying me when my voice isn’t what they remembered, especially when it’s inevitably going to be in that crackly unstable place for a while.
On a lighter note, when he saw me, he said he thought I had already started transitioning. I’ve lost a little weight this summer and got a good haircut so my face is a little less round than usual right now. Plus I have like, dark peach fuzz on my face naturally even without HRT, which he touched like “what is this?” I said, “It’s my mustache, any questions?” It was a weird interaction but we had a good laugh about it. I feel a real kinship with him. He’s an older gay man and really makes an effort to understand me. I think of him like a queer role model, and I think he thinks of me like a young queer to take under his wing. I’m glad we have a good rapport, and I sincerely hope I can keep singing for him while my voice changes.

100 days of productivity: 4/100
🪐 11.10.2023 🪐
Hullo to all. I had a soft late morning cause uni started at 12 for me. I also got assigned two presentations today, one for next week in international relations and one for the week later in social structure analysis. Gonna work on them next week, my weekend is planned otherwise.
What I did today:
First descriptive statistics tutorial - I said stuff like 5 to 6 times so successful
Then a short tutorial about social structure analysis - we basically introduced ourselves and chose our presentation topic/date
second English technical language course - listening comprehension exercise - took an active part here again
And for self care:
slow morning - sleeping in, enjoying breakfast, short Animal Crossing turnip selling, shower
reading "Howls Moving Castle" (but I seem to have lost the copy today ahhh hopefully I get it back, it's my sister's)
a little more than 1h shopping with my mum and sister - got a thin black turtleneck and a set of embroidery needles
church choir practice for 90min
All in all a good day. I hope you had a nice day as well ☺️

I've started a fundraiser to support the BuchaBest church choir. As well as the family members of one of the choir singers Andriy S.. Andriy and his parents, neighbours and other family members, were murdered by russian soldiers during the occupation of Bucha in March 2022.
In this video the choir performes four Ukrainian church songs. The performance was filmed in the St. Andriy Church of Bucha, the place were a mass grave had to be created, because of the high number of murdered civilians during the occupation. The funds raised via Vimeo will be split between the choir and the family of Andriy. The surviving family stills lives in the house in Bucha. It was ransacked and partially destroyed by russian soldiers living in it. Additionally, the water- and heating pipes in the house burst due to the cold. Unfortunatly, the family can't afford the funds to fully restore the house, but they still have to live in it.
If you wish to additionaly donate money to the family, please donate via paypal, using the reference "Buchachoir": paypal.me/michaelstadnikfilm

So last time, I did something more in line with Deltarune’s canon. Now it’s back to my timeline’s edgy goatboy nonsense!

Boy soprano problems: I received an offer to play Amahl in Amahl and the Night Visitors in my city’s opera this December, but it conflicts with my Lessons and Carols gig where I’m singing the Stanford Magnificat in G solo.

- Tenebrae was last night and went VERY well
- warmup and rehearsal before went Badly and I was concerned. I am not the most talented singer and I have god awful pitch and it is harder to hide in a smaller group and I kept going flat but it was okay in the end
- @gordiemeow was there!!
- first time ever singing in my church’s choir loft. it is CHILLY up there but it sounds so much better than singing from the chancel
- the guy running the livestream had the microphone muted the entire time so my friend watching couldn’t hear anything 😔
- he also fucked up and turned on ALL of the lights in the chancel as the priest was bringing the Christ candle back out so that took away some of the impact of it but we are all human
- I’m tired and a little sore for some reason
- Maundy Thursday is tonight
- I still have… five more services to sing this week 😳

Adventures in Subbing
Ice, ice baby. That’s the only reason I can come up with for why the idea of elementary subbing seems so appealing. The night before I started teaching high school 30 years ago went something like this: check the outfit, awesome; check the lunch, cool.; check the shoes and one last look to make sure no runs in the ridiculously expensive hose, wonderful. Weirdly, I fell asleep like it was a…
