The cafe scene from 1x20 is still, to this day, one of the most badass Daisy Johnson scenes for me

Because she isn't Daisy Johnson yet, she's Skye. Skye isn't a trained agent with inhuman powers and years of experience under her belt. She's a hackers with barely any training, not much physical strength, and no allies. She's completely alone with the man who's lied and manipulated her and her whole team from months and, to her knowledge, wouldn't hesitate to kill her and could do so easily. Even with the cops there, she's not really safe because she's been working with SHIELD so her best case scenario (as we see when she literally begs some officers to arrest her to get away from Ward) is jail.

And yet she's still so controlled. She's basically been fooling a trained SHIELD agent and master manipulator for several hours and while Ward's kind of suspicious of her, she still has him where she wants him. She's working on the fly, desperately trying to give herself more time with no real strategy but to stall until the police arrest Ward, but she doesn't betray a hint of fear.

She even starts prodding him!! I can not get over how Skye is completely unarmed and untrained and still is brave enough to poke the bear that is Grant Ward. The questions about his undercover work to distract him from the cops and her failed hack while still putting him on edge. Emphasizing "shot him in the back of the head" (basically calling him a coward). Using Garrett's betrayal to insult Ward passive aggressively. The line "I'm just trying to have an honest conversation for once"

The complete confidence in her voice when she turns around the computer and reveals "I tipped them off." God, the look she gives Ward like 'just try to hurt me now, I dare you' and then to top it all off there's the complete disgust in her voice when she says "Hail Hydra"

THIS is Daisy Johnson. This is the essence of her character. Someone who looks danger in the face and tells it to go rot in hell. I will never, ever agree with anyone who says that Skye wasn't strong until she got her powers and became Daisy because 1) she is a badass agent in season 2 pre-terrigenesis, don't get it twisted and 2) this is the woman who outsmarted a spy as a highschool dropout, lied through her teeth with no plan whatsoever, and very nearly got away with it. Completely fearlessly.

Daisy's been a badass since she was Season 1 Skye.

The fact Gabriel a child abuser, that took part in a murder(Shanghai special), almost murdered an entire family small children included(Senti bubbler), threatened to start World War 3 (new york) and has been terrorizing Paris for over a year not only gets hailed as a hero but gets his crimes buried by Ladybug meanwhile Chloe a child that has done far less than him not only gets treated like the devil incarnated but is sent off to live with her abuser as a 'just' punishment is quite frankly disturbing

Okay, picture if you will…

Reader as the daughter of Lucifer Morningstar and Mazikeen…

In essence, a love child that Maze and Lucifer decided to train in combat…

When they come to Earth in LA, they decided to send her off to train with the best of the best on Earth, including Batman. There, Reader meets Jason and the two become friends, eventually dating…

Then, Joker kidnaps him after a mission at a school goes topside…

And Reader… goes… fucking… ape…

In the same way an animal goes berserk when their pack, mate or human is in danger, Reader goes twice as crazy… like Joker and Harley have some competition…

She starts using torture techniques, learned from her mother on anyone working for Joker or who sympathized with him… Looking for Jason for days and months on end…

Which leads her to Frank Boles…

In front of his wife and children, she forces the truth out of him without having to pull out a knife…

Joker is hiding Jason in the underbelly of Arkham Asylum to torture him…

Issuing a threat to Boles to not tell Joker she’s on her way or else, he’s a dead man walking, and wishing Mrs. Boles luck on separation/divorce proceedings (they gonna need it), she’s off to Arkham…

Once inside the belly of the beast, she immediately hears screams… and she doesn’t waste a second, ripping the heavy-duty door off of its hinges.

Joker has a branding tool with a ‘J’ that was still hot, Harley looking at her in shock and horror, and Jason, reddening eyes full of tears and pain with a newly branded ‘J’…

“Okay, now you’ve really pissed me off…”

(This GIF just fits… don’t judge me…)

Reader goes fucking nuts and Joker, for the first time, is genuinely terrified…

Like, he thought he could beat her up like Jason, but she managed to do the one thing that he thought impossible…

Making him feel pain without making him laugh….

It becomes clear to him that Reader is beyond human…

She was a living, breathing monster with the face of a pretty girl…

A monster fighting for her lover… and that lover was Jason…

Unlike Batman, love wasn’t her weakness… it was her weapons, the very tools she was using to deliver the same punishment he had placed onto Jason onto him…

Even Harley could tell she wasn’t normal in the slightest and actively stayed out of her way purely out of shock, for once thinking about her self-preservation rather than her clown-faced man-candy (if you can even call Joker a man or even man-candy).

With Joker nearly beaten to within an inch of his life, Reader is shaken out of her murderous stupor by a single broken word…

“B-Babe…”

Her eyes then turned towards the sight of her boyfriend, her Jason. The tape hanging off the corner of his mouth, skin stained with blood, tears and other copious substances. His eyes still pained and red now looking at her and pleading.

Without a second thought, she goes up to him and cuts him out of his bindings. Ensues a lot of tears and ‘I’m sorry’ and ‘I love you’ and just a lot of emotional shit…

Then Harley pulls out a gun from Joker’s pocket and shoots her, ruining the special moment…

Only it doesn’t kill her… the bullet bouncing off her…

Y/N had always been careful around weaponry, as she didn’t know if she was invincible like her father or at risk of being destroyed completely like her mother. She had managed to get nicked a few times during fights…

But those were before she met Jason…

She realized what was going on as she shielded Jason from the hail of bullets and shrill angry screams coming from Harley…

She was vulnerable by herself, but impenetrable around Jason…

It was a strange reversal of what was going on with her father around his detective colleague, Chloe…

Without fault, she whips around and sets her sights on Harley, grabbing the gun, twisting and breaking her arm and destroying the pistol in the process…

Flashing her demon face, Reader says to Harley, “If either of you touch him again, you’re gonna wish I had sent you both to Hell just now…”

In the midst of this, Jason passes out from the pain of his untreated injuries. With her supernatural strength, Y/N picks up Jason and turns to leave, unfurling her black and green angel wings…

Boy, Batman was going to give her a hounding and her parents were going to be singing praises…

The lineup 💪 (about half my Ninjago ocs, as of dragons rising) from left to right, Two-Worlds (she/her), Chloe (she/her), Alcyo (he/him), and Elapis (he/they).

Two-Worlds is a hent (speculative etymological ninjagan term for amphicyonids, aka bear-dogs… google em, they’re pretty cool and not extinct in the Ninjago universe in my mind palace/hc zone) hailing from my friend’s fan-realm called Creatura. She’s not actually supposed to be in a humanoid form, it was artificially induced via magic. Her true form is much larger and much more quadrupedal like other creaturans (who just look like oversized, strangely colored but otherwise normal animals). She prefers this form though because she was raised in Ninjago around exclusively humans and got some body dysmorphia out of it… and as for why she’s a cowboy, it’s because she felt like it. She’s been wandering the merged lands searching for her scattered friends and family.

Chloe is a Fangpyre serpentine, and she looks pretty lizard-y because for some reason Fangpyre are more monitor lizard-ish than snake-ish in my head. She’s got special interests in pop culture and history, particularly human pop culture and ways in which human and serpentine history interact. Girlie is like a walking archive. Since the merge she’s been wanting to digitize and transcribe what remains of non-digitized archives and libraries, as the merge has made her all the more aware of how often natural disasters can destroy physical/recorded history. She’s pretty thrilled that Lloyd’s letting her digitize/transcribe scrolls in the monastery.

Alcyo is a master of an element i Made The Fuck Up for fun: mist. It’s a running gag that ppl (including him way back when) hear there’s elements of smoke and mist and go “…what’s the difference?” lmao. He’s no fighter, but still wanted help/training to use his element, and that’s how he knew Ash. He’s a geosciences guy like me and has been freaking out over . Well. Everything (lol he inspired that post) since the merge. He’s been getting together with ppl like him from across the merged realms (that is, geosci, eco, etc ppl who are as alarmed as he is) in order to document all the shit going on with the planet now as well as try to plan remediation efforts. I imagine governments have been a bit hesitant to work with a rogue group of jittery sleep deprived scientists but they (Alcyo’s ppl) try. I imagine they are the ones making the new maps and shit like that as well. He just wants to go back to his old day jobs and see Ash again. Sorry buddy, you can only have one of those back lmao

Elapis is a hypnobrai who’s been friends with Chloe since childhood. They’re significantly more jaded and pessimistic than she is but they’ve always appreciated her encouragement to pursue music. He probably knows how to play quite a few instruments but he’s usually That Asshole With A Guitar in my brain lmao. He likes learning about other peoples as much as Chloe does though (albeit through music scenes rather than reading) which is why the two became friends. He doesn’t know where she’s gone since the merge and hopes he can see her again one day. He’s found her siblings but not her, and it’s been pretty frustrating. Other than that, they’ve passed the time by jamming with all sorts of people at the Crossroads. Arin and Sora might have seen them around, performing.

Happy fe oc week! Day 2: Relationships, featuring my oc Chloe and Sylvain in their C support! I haven't drawn any kind of Sylvain in almost a year I think, oopsie doopsie

Chloe is engaged to a Kingdom noble before the start of the game, and intends to marry them after graduation. She hails from a rich merchant family in Fhirdiad and has lived since she turned 3 after her parents moved from Remire in search of business

While she says she's eager to get married and start a family, she enrolled in the Officer's Academy to put off making that decision because, deep down, it scares her, and she thinks her time at the academy will allow her to step away and properly think about it. She's currently the oldest student at the academy, and appreciates it when her peers treat her as their equal instead of an authority figure

Max, Chloe and David drive to Away

On the road to Away, Chloe was sitting next to David in the passenger’s seat, with Max nominally in the backseat, but with her arms wrapped around Chloe and her head between the front seats. That way both David and Max got what they wanted. David had Chloe riding shotgun and Max had Chloe firmly in her embrace. It wasn’t a particularly safe sitting arrangement, but David took that into account and drove slowly, even though the desert road was completely empty.

“So, David, how does it feel to be an accomplice to two cartel operatives slash Hezbollah terrorists slash Chinese spies slash whatever else the fear-mongering media cooked up?” - Chloe inquired.

“You mean the Diaz brothers?”

“Yes, David, I mean the two fugitives that broke through a police cordon at the border and drove off in a hail of bullets! The ones everyone is talking about!” - Chloe pursued the topic.

“Well, I wouldn’t exactly call myself an accomplice. Sean and Daniel stayed in Away for a few weeks. I gave Sean a little bit of advice. And then they were on their way.”

“I knew it!” Chloe energetically patted Max’s arms, which were entwined around her. “You owe me five bucks, Max!” Seeing David’s puzzled look, Chloe explained: “When we heard that the Diaz brothers had went through Arizona, so close to your place, I immediately knew you had bumped into them. We bet on that with Max”.

“You won Chloe. But how exactly am I supposed to cash you out? We pool all of our money together anyway”.

“How are you supposed to pay it out? By handing me an oversized check in front of cameras, of course!”

“If by ‘cameras’ you mean my polaroid and by ‘an oversized check’ you mean a page ripped out from a notebook, then sure, it can be arranged”.

“Fine, if you can’t conduct a proper award ceremony, then I guess you can exchange those five bucks into kisses. One kiss for one dollar”.

“Hey! My kisses are worth far more than a dollar a piece! Then again, you’re my favourite customer and I value your continued business, so I can offer you an even more favourable exchange rate – one kiss for 10 cents”.

“It’s a deal, Max!”

David smiled, listening to their playful banter. He was reminded of one particular moment from years ago, when he goofed around with Joyce while making pancakes. When he still thought he and Chloe could become a family. Before he fucked it all up. But in the end, they did become a family. He just wished Joyce could be there to see it. To see her daughter smile and laugh and be hopeful again.

“For the record, David, I didn’t bet against you meeting the Diazes because I thought you weren’t cool enough to hang out with alleged domestic terrorists. I just didn’t think the world was that small. Them being from Seattle and on top of that them meeting you? That seemed implausible” – Max explained.

“Max, your incredulity becomes even cuter with every strange mess we get ourselves into. So, David, what kind of advice did you give to Sean Diaz? How to manufacture IEDs?” – Chloe wanted to hear all the juicy deets.

David sighed. “I told him they should surrender. That seemed like the best advice I could give to a teenage boy chased by hundreds of cops who would love nothing more than to gun him down. But I’m glad he didn’t listen. I was being naïve. He would never get a fair trial. The media had already convicted him for being a cop killer”.

Chloe stopped goofing around and spoke in a more serious tone: “It’s okay, David. You meant well. At the end of the day, that’s all we can demand from ourselves. Sometimes we wish to do good, but the results are different than we expected. But as long as we want to help others, instead of hurting them, everything is fine”.

Both David and Max fell silent, because Chloe’s words spoke volumes to them. To Max, the part about meaning well but causing unforeseen consequences. And to David, the part about helping, instead of hurting others. After a brief moment, Chloe realized how her words might have been received. She cursed at herself in her thoughts. She wished she had bitten her tongue instead of speaking. “This is why you should leave philosophising to Max, you numbnuts. Because when you speak, you tend to make people sad”. She radically changed the topic to turn Max’s and David’s attention away from the past and towards the present, or better yet, the future.

“Listen, dad, before we get to Away, we need to stop at a store and buy some essentials. And nothing is more essential right now than sunscreen for Max. Arizonian sun doesn’t jive well with tender Irish skin. Not everyone can be of stout Germanic stock like the Prices or the Madsens. Some people are delicate Celtic flowers from the Emerald Isle".

The three of them smiled all the way to Away. Max at being called an Irish beauty. David at being called “dad”. And Chloe at the fact that with each day she was getting better at making others smile.
