CHILDE
Spoils his kid so much that the kid is probably pretty haughty and confident sometimes, much like her father. Also, where did those punches and kicks come from? Did she learn it from her father too? Either way, she is pretty tough and strong for a kid.
He is quite annoying, honestly, but adorable at the same time.
He’d proudly boast about his daughter very much to the point that his subordinates would be so used and numb to all of it.
“As expected, sir Harbinger,” “She is truly your daughter, my lord,” will be their automatic responses, echoing each other with praises for the child. In all honesty though, most of them are rather merely showing their loyalty and fear to the Harbinger. Nonetheless, it would not be a lie to say that his daughter really is almost, if not as, skilled as her father.
It would actually not be a surprise if she would act spoiled and confident, as she is respected all the same. And as much as CHILDE would hate to expose her to the Fatui, it is not possible as she refuses to be left at CHILDE’s own home back at Snezhnaya and would like to travel with her father a couple of times.
Although he does try to hide her a couple of times too, and only a few Fatui Harbingers actually know he has a daughter. It would be dangerous, after all. So probably only a few of his trusted subordinates would know as he has to have someone protect his daughter when he is not there. He probably even assigned someone—one of his Fatui subordinates—to babysit her especially in the first few years.
His daughter is also the only one he lets defeat him. He’d give up easily if it meant he could see his daughter smile in victory. And besides, it’s not like it’s his loss, he wins the moment she smiles, even if she does try to brag to everybody that she just won against him.
You? Well when you come in the picture, the two; father and daughter would probably compete against each other for your attention, I swear. Caught you kissing CHILDE on the cheeks? Ah! You should give her too! On both her cheeks! Saying “I love you” to her father? Tell her you love her more!
Now, he finds it difficult to compete with his daughter for you, but at least you two were getting along, and that’s all that matters. (Admittedly though, it hurts his pride whenever he sees his daughter win when it comes to you, but well he loves both of you)
DILUC
Is very vERY protective of his daughter. Would probably never let her join him at his work nor at his batman duties and insist she stays at home.
As she is the only child, the kid often gets lonely… but at least there are maids and her father’s subordinates around the mansion, and the place is quite big so she gets to play a lot!
Although it would not be a surprise if she suddenly becomes quite rebellious sometimes. She would sneak out once or twice a month to capture more crystalflies or just look around the area to explore. Spoiler: she never gets caught. Plus, the butler is totally on her side.
DILUC is also on the quieter side, so the child may have gotten that kind of personality as well, which meant that she probably did not mind her father being too quiet… but she still feels neglected whenever she tries to bond or talk with her father and he does not respond back with the same energy as her or the others who will do that for her.
As she is quite isolated inside the mansion and probably does not have any other kids besides her, she probably does not know what it means to have another parent as DILUC was the only one she has. The moment she does learn about this, however, she will be questioning her father about this and the man would have a hard time trying to explain to her that it will just be them this time.
Maybe because of this she became quite curious of the outside world even more. And maybe if you passed by the Dawn Winery just because it was a part of your path home and accidentally met his daughter all alone while she was in one of her rendezvous, she immediately took interest in you. It would no be long until she takes your time with all her questions about the outside world and soon inviting you to have dinner with her back at her house.
And let’s just say that it was how DILUC met you—and of course, how his daughter was reprianded because of this.
ZHONGLI
Is quite the doting father. Actually, not too lenient, not too strict, but is quite protective—not too much as well. He also does know how to communicate well, thus it became something that the child also had gotten used to.
His daughter is well spoken. Very, actually, that you yourself will be surprised and in awe that a child would be more well spoken than any children you know.
She is very respectful too, probably the type to intimidate someone with her words even if all she said were facts and lessons that her father used to tell her.
In the early years, he thought he would need a babysitter for her, but as he took notice, his daughter was very independent and behaved. To the point that he thought he could leave her for the meantime while he is working.
As a single father, he does have repercussions and hardships, as this is something he did not particularly have experience with. He is someone who relied on his experiences, as he had many, and observations.
He would probably read a lot of books about parenting, especially in the early years, but I swear he would still have those books as his daughter grows—teens are quite hard to raise, after all. They are prone to rebellious phases and acts, to which he could somehow see in his daughter, but he does know a lot about his daughter, and he’d know how to react with those phases, if she ever has one.
When it comes to you, it pleases him to know that his daughter was working it out with you as soon as she learns he wanted to date you. Actually, his daughter might even teach him how to court you because “Father is very dense sometimes,” “You should pay attention to how you treat them compared to others. They would not be feeling they are special if you treat them the same as you treat others, father.”
Sometimes, ZHONGLI does wonder how old his daughter’s soul is.
But anyway, she was making good points and in the end, it was thanks to his daughter that he got to know a few things he never thought about.

limbo an imaginary dimension in illyana’s she created due to all the suffering she went though . she transported herself here along side her dragon Lockheed (outside of limbo Lockheed is a stuffed dragon toy, in limbo he is very much real ) to to be safe she is a very powerful sorceress.this place has become real to her after spending so much time there (in the comics limbo is a very much real place at the age of six after being saved she lived at the x mansion with her brother and she tagged along when the her brother and the current x men were setting up a base of operations on a mysterious island , while the xmen were busy , illyana was lured away from the xmen and safety and was taken into limbo by Belasco , the xmen followed her into the dimension in tempt to recuse her. this wasn’t the first time the xmen were pulled into limbo, the current members that fell into limbo with illyana an alternate group of the same current xmen from a different reality were pulled into there years prior and they couldnt escape two of those current five of the alternate realities self were killed, the alternative reality storm who goes by ororo , she hold off Belasco’s demonic hordes so the newly trapped xmen can escape with the young illyana however not everything went as planned at the last minute Belasco pulled illyana back into limbo, after he pulled her away from kitty and back into limbo he forced a piece of her soul into a bloodstone ororo attempted to stop Belasco but with her old age and the power of the blood stone she was no match , lucky the alternative reality kitty came to the scene she drove Belasco away , her and ororo took the young girl to ororo’s garden sanctuary , the alternate universe version of storm attempted to sever the magical link Belasco hold on the young girl but she failed so instead she decided to tutor the girl in magic which would allow the young girl to better defend herself kitty then left being upset after a while of training with ororo cat snuck back into the sanctuary to convince the girl to leave with her, cat brought the girl to limbo’s savage land where cat taught the girl how to fight with a sword after three years of teaching the young girl cat brought here back to where Belasco’s territory with the intention to send the girl home and far away from Belasco they got through the alternative version of nightclawer who was under Belasco’s control, they had made in to Belasco’s alter before they could send her home Belasco’s came to further corrupt her and transformed her into his dark chilld, her further muntanted cat so she was now under his control, his plan has work she had cut herself and make Belasco a second blood stone , she spend another two years under his control, she had also attempted to use the same magic the alternative version of storm taught her but she couldn’t even conjure a single acorn, during those two years the demon sim would punish the young girl at the smallest mistakes or for even no reason at all. it was during this time the girls mutant powers manifested. for xx amount years she was in limbo until she used her own mutant powers to bring her back to her time and place, with only a few seconds passing in her time , she was in the hellish dimension for limbo for seven years. illyana was now a teenage)
illyana along with lockheed and her sword she killed eighteen men , including the men that used her as a sex slave. this cause her to be landed in Milbury Hospital where she meet three other mutants one who she doesn’t get along with when they were first admitted into the hospital
when Illyana first meet Dani Moonstar she hated her she tried to kill her more the once .
dani was the one who summed the demon bear to fight against dr reyes, after the bear killed dr reyes and the barriers keeping the mutants there fell vanished , Illyana takes on the demon bear and wins
after that she and the three other mutants are free and get they stuff and head to town

Summary: You’re the daughter of Tony Stark, and after meeting the Avengers for the first time, you begin to fall for the one who your father despises most…Bucky Barnes.

A/N - it has been a lifetime since I posted for this series, but it’s one of my OG fics. I plan on finishing it these coming weeks tho so I can move onto new things :((( hope ya’ll enjoy! I’m so sorry if the story is becoming a bit of a bore!
“What the fuck is the meaning of this? Why are they here?!” Tony shouts, his frustration fuming with each word, as he tears his gaze from Avenger to Avenger until resting onto you.
“God, Tony, can you not be an asshole for just a minute!” Natasha fought back, clearly her patience with this whole ordeal was running thin. She was the one who took on the sole responsibility of keeping you posted on how Tony was coping with your absence: she was the one who updated you on the adverse changes of Tony’s behaviour, of how he had grown cold and bitter, keeping his distance from the team… This really complicated things during missions, which was amongst Natasha’s pet peeves. Overtime, she’d even notice how desperate he’d become of wanting to always keep busy, assuming that seeking out distractions would be enough to ease whatever thing was on his mind. Not to forget, Natasha had also noticed. A pattern of change in their conversations: however, the fact is, they were no longer conversations…Just mere arguments, with many attempts from each individual team member desperate to persuade him just this once, that he was, without a doubt, in the absolute wrong…With Tony being Tony, he was too arrogant to see that nor to admit it to himself.
His eyes instantly darted back to Natasha, who kept her immense eyes firmly on him, standing her ground, unfazed by his demeanour.
“Thought you should know that you’re having a granddaughter by the way…In case you had the slightest bit of interest.”
It took you all the courage in the world to even speak. For a split second, as Tony’s eyes returned to meet yours, it seemed you’d noticed a faint smile, some sort of emotion, possibly even a spark of regret tearing through his eyes, only to find him shaking his head in disapproval. You felt Bucky’s grip on your hand tighten, knowing that the presence of not only Tony, although Danny too, was all too aggravating for the super soldier…He didn’t want to retaliate out of sheer impulse, not in front of you at least, and definitely not on this special day that belonged to the both of you.
Expecting to hear Tony’s voice in response, you were met with bewildering disappointment. A part of you was actually anticipating for Tony to answer… Any sign that showed he was willing to talk. Disappointingly, the silence of the compound was instead, disrupted by the smugness of Danny.
“Guess the rumours are true. I thought it was just another one of your ridiculous excuses to get rid me. But I guess you really are just another slut in the office, huh, Y/N?”
“The fuck did you just say, asshole?”
The sudden sensation of Bucky hastily releasing his grip from you, as he angrily heaved himself up, as he strode towards Danny., was fast even for you, although you knew exactly what Bucky would’ve done if Steve hadn’t intervened… If it wasn’t for Steve’s sixth sense when it came to his long-time pal, Bucky wouldn’t have been able to contain himself. He ran to stop him, pulling his shoulder back as he stood in his way, desperate to calm him.
“Come on, Buck. You know he’s not worth it.”
Bucky’s eyes were seething with anger, as his fists instinctively curled tightly, with his metal arm making that familiar whirling sound, just as it did when preparing for a fight.
“Bucky, baby, he’s pathetic, you know that…”
Despite the short chuckle that escaped Danny’s mouth, the calmness in your voice was all that he needed to hear, to know that you were okay. He knew you were capable enough to shrug off a comment like that, typically from a person such as Danny. Looking back towards you, you instantly noticed how sorrowful he’d come, knowing he was close enough to ruining what was meant to be a memorable day. You loved how, without question, he had stood up for you and your unborn chilld. You knew from the beginning since Bucky was so on board with this whole pregnancy that he would be an amazing father… Though it was moments like this that reinforced it in himself: and that was what he needed.
Just as Bucky returned by your side, you subtly measured the state of confusion growing on Tony’s face. His stance of silence, still inevitable disappointed you the most, though. You were praying that he’d retaliate, the same dignified way Bucky had just sheer seconds ago… Danny may have been one of your father’s favourite employees, although you were his daughter, his own flesh and blood, one that he’d raised proudly.
You hated how, still despite all these months of bitter distance, you’d still felt inclined to cry for Tony, watching him standing there, oblivious to your own suffering.
“So this is how it is, huh?” You exclaim, walking over towards him, with Bucky ever so slowly following you from behind.
The sudden sound of your palm colliding with Tony’s cheek, as you smacked down against it, was purely impulsive. It was relieving, to say the least however, though you didn’t know what to expect of him next…Perhaps even more of his familiar nothingness.
“Even I would have never thought of you, the great Tony Stark, to be so naïve as to believe a single word that came out of that asshole’s mouth...Pathetic!”
Your words stung Tony, as a tear had streaked passed his cheek, leaving a wet, stained trail, he felt himself unable to look at you, his own daughter. You felt no need to say anymore, and thus, felt no need to stay any longer. You led yourself to the elevator, with Bucky following you once more, before you both entered the empty space. You hadn’t even bothered to look behind for one last glance, you felt no need to anymore.
All the while, Tony was only just registering in his mind what had unfolded, with the fact that he was having a granddaughter, to Danny’s comments, and haste actions. He was a smart man, an renowned intellect of this generation respectively, and yet, when it came to the need to care, he lacked the skill of sympathising for the misery and misfortune of others… It was something that for so long, he had deemed as “unnecessary.”
Slowly, his head turned towards Dany, whom at this point, felt pride in himself, smiling away towards the closed elevator doors, where you last stood, before turning back to Tony awaiting for some sort of approval.
For what felt like a long, solid minute, Tony stood their extensively studying Danny. Tony remained intensely stoic, and it only took a few fleeting seconds for Danny to notice that Tony was far from satisfied.
“C’mon Tony…It was just in the heat of the moment! You know the truth! It pains me to see her with another man, let alone carrying his child! Now how about we just forget about this, and deal with our more urgent matters for the company, hmm?”
Just as Danny was about to pat Tony’s shoulders, praying that some slight encouragement would blindly lead him to agree, he was met with rejection instead. By shoving him off, Danny was left in a haze, as Tony’s body began to radiate with rage.
“Escort yourself the fuck out of my building!”
Not wanting to cause more of a scene, not wanting to upset Tony even more, Danny had insolently excused himself. However, it wasn’t his departure that left a smile on Natasha’s face, it was the fact that Tony was beginning to see what he had denied for so long…

Days had passed since the new game was released. Day one, they were completely addicted to it, playing for hours on end. On day three, Felix had hoped that they'd get better, that they'd play less.
He himself had tried it out. It was a good game, he liked it. He played a few rounds together with them on day four and five, but it was not like they were actually with him. All their attention was on the game. He was not just jealous, he was not mad either, no, more so, he was worried for them. He loved them, and to see them this obsessed with a game had him worried for their health, as well as for their eyes.
It's why he decided on his masterplan on day seven, when they asked him:
"Felix, love, could you please bring me a glass of water?"

"What the hell, Felix?" For the first time in a week, they looked at him. Their eyebrows, which had just been furrowed, softened again. When they went to apologise, they instead laughed. Felix joined in, laughing. He hugged them, and they hugged him back tightly. He had managed to drag them back into reality, and into his arms. He'd never let them go again.

Who would be the big spoon/little spoon?:I feel like; both would be both depending on the day — like they both are able to read each other very very well; and I feel like they would just instinctively know if the other needed or wanted to be held and cuddled… that said; I won’t pretend Missy doesn’t like to play jetpack to the much taller Doctor.
Who would wake up first?:Again it depends, though I generally feel as though Missy sleeps more, if less soundly. Generally, I would say I think the Doctor probably wakes up first, though sometimes he is probably awakened earlier than he might otherwise have been cause Missy has a tendency to talk and make noises in her sleep because of her night terrors. Since neither of them really need to sleep that much its something of an odd situation… but cuddles always tend to induce sleep, even if neither of them necessarily needs it.
Do they have nicknames for each other?:Ooohhhhh hell yes!!! so many; just — so.. soooo many. whther they are cute ones or teasing ones or whatever — the name calling is just… endless. Its definitely something Missy does more than the Doctor; but they both have plenty of names of each other.
How do they apologize after an argument?:weellll; neither of them are very good at it; they are both very VERY stubborn, especially with each other, and they tend to just sort of avoid the other until they calm down and forget about what it was they were arguing about. Although; on the rare occasion that they do actually decide to apologize to one another its usually through some kind of grand (and in Missy’s case often misguided) gesture (like a cyberman army as a birthday present … y’know… totally reasonable) What would they be like as parents?:Oh dear god help whatever poor child had them as parents!! XD –To be honest; I feel like they would be bother really terrible and really amazing at the same time; like as far as care taking and keeping them safe? they would be absolute rubbish! Like they are both such risk takers and… Missy would see absolutely no problem dragging her chilld through the heart of a star or some shit while the Doctor would just kind of ~forget~ that children are small and somewhat fragile and would end up getting them into some kind of trouble and then just being like “.. ooops?” — I mean look what goes down with his human companions; and I sort of think he sees them kind of as his children or charges for which he is responsible and… i mean look at the track record… BUT in terms of raising the child I think they would be amazing!! In terms of really important life lessons and explaining things — there would be nobody better in the universe – like they are both so crazy brilliant and have had such a breadth of experiences …. on top of which like; their viewpoints are SO different they would present any child with a varied and balanced point of view which would allow them to develop their own ideas and point of view on different topics, they would be amazing.
Who is more romantic?:I – I honestly don’t know… i feel like it depends on the circumstance? Like generally i’d say Missy is more the one for grand, cheesy gestures and protestations; BUT I think the Doctor also will pull out some incredibly beautiful and sweet romantic moments and gestures; they are just less common and somewhat more subtle and definitely less predictable; but they can both be very romantic when they choose to be. What sort of gifts do they get for each other?:Ridiculous ones. I mean.. really…. REALLY over the top shit… a pony just cause she asked… a cyberman army for his birthday…. a piano for absolutely no reason at all (Oh please there were PLENTY of reasons he got her that damn piano and all of them involve good times which could be had atop it.) ;) ….. you get the point.
Who gets jealous easiest?:MISSSYYYYYY. definitely. She CANNOT understand why he is always running around with those stupid little humans; and she is often afraid he loves them more than he loves her. Which isn’t to say that the Doctor wouldn’t be jealous too if their situations were reversed; but like — Missy doesn’t really have many friends sooo…..
Who gets more excited for events e.g.. Birthdays, Christmas?:Hahahahaha Missy. definitely Missy. She enjoys making a production out of every. single. holiday…. oftentimes much to the dismay and irritation of the Doctor…. which is honestly half the reason she is so set one it.Who is the most adventurous?:Depends on what you mean by adventurous…. Missy is the bigger risk taker but the Doctor is more curious about the universe and everything in general…. althooooough if we’re talking in the bedroom um… Missy, clearly — though to his credit the Doctor is down for whatever she comes up with. Who is the most protective?:Probably the Doctor, though they are both protective of one another, fiercely protective — the Doctor is just so used to getting Missy out of her own messes over the years; its just kind of ingrained in him to make sure she has a way out and will be okay. What would they have been like as childhood sweethearts?:I meannn since that’s exactly what they were…… ;P No no, i know I know; and I don;t think they were like together together when they were young, even if they were clearly in love with each other even then…. but I feel like even if they had been; I think their relationship would have been very much like what it is now… both of them constantly fighting but always forgiving each other because they are stupid in love.Who uses all the hot water?:Lmao Both of them because you know they’re in the damn shower together and therefore showers take 500 X longer than they need to beaause so much shower sex. Who would accidentally set the kitchen on fire whilst cooking?:Both of them; well; no i take that back… the Doctor would set it on fire by accident Missy would do it on purpose… or at least if it was ORIGINALLY an accident she would throw some kerosene on it for good measure. thoughts on Logan
So I did actually go see Logan on Monday cos like just the poster and the stuff I’d seen on The Mary Sue about the little girl in the film made me think “Ahh, I bet I know exactly how the movie will go, I better go see it” cos I did go see the first three X-Men films before that hideous Fassfucker came on board which pretty much eroded all my interest in one go. And then everyone was like “Logan is the grittiest superhero film ever” and I was like “Yussss, even better!”
So yeah, I wuz right. The story went exactly as I thought it would but then it also surprised me with how it wove in a Classic Hollywood western film (which I haven’t actually seen), and the ferocity of Dafne Keen was so startling and so wonderful. And then it really astonished me in the best way possible in terms of race and gender going into the future.
Spoilers under the cut.
Like the fact that the film literally buries the corpse of white male rage, thanks it for everything it did, acknowledges that it did the best it could with all its coding and inescapable patterning, but look at how the future now belongs to kids of different races and other genders. And there was not a single white male in that group of kids. A white girl, yes, no white boy.
And like we literally have the Classic Hollywood patriarchal narrative of older man mentoring young child, only this child happens to be a girl of colour rather than a little white boy. And we’ve still got the Classic Hollywood narrative mollified in terms of her tears and the repeated “Daddy” and the burial.
BUT LOOK AT US GIRLS AND BOYS OF COLOUR GOING INTO THE FUTURE. Your white male rage has no place in the future. I fucking loved that.
Like only some aspects of it surprised me but even the lack of surprise was somehow satisfying.
The depiction of race was really really interesting, though. Like my hackles got raised from the first scene with the gang comprising Asian and Latino boys beating up on our aged white male who then goes berserk on them. I mean, I love my Hugh Jackman, of course I do, you non-Aussies have no idea just how wonderful and dear he is to us and to me, but warning bells were totally going off in my head at this instant race representation from the very first scene.
But then there was Fellow Wotsizname Stephen Merchant guy who is literally crippled by his whiteness. That I found pretty interesting.
The Mexican nurse lady who literally only served to deliver the chilld to the father. I did not care for that.
And then the black family which was so obviously marked for tragedy the moment they exhibited generosity to our travellers of death. Oh god I hated that so much, watching them all be so happy, loving the sight of our damaged white men and our damaged girl of colour find some happiness, knowing it was all going to end in blood and death. But then it was really interesting watching this functional decent working class family of farmers who own the land and work the land, defend the land against a gang of white men come to hound them off. I thought those scenes were so loaded with black American history, the resonance of this image of a black father farmer holding a short gun on this group of white men, this civilised black man who is helped and defended by a white man of bulging muscles and physical menace.
There was a hell of a lot going on in there, and I don’t think it was reductive at all. Yes, the black family still all got slaughtered and I fucking hated that but I very appreciated the fact that our black patriarch came back out of nowhere and made a pretty effective last stand before he died. On one hand, that was fucken impressive, that was powerful. On the other hand, an entire black family was still slaughtered for their help given to these two white men and their female ward. I don’t know if it was mixed messages or whether the horrible truth still holds or whether there’s a greater truth I’m not getting. It’s not really cohering for me.
None of that race representation or casting choices felt thoughtless or indifferent. It all felt very calculated and especially at the end, very much part of an agenda of pointed critical inclusivity. Critical of the status quo in cinema and real life, and critical in terms of “This is where we need to go, this is the future, step the fuck up and acknowledge this.”
I’m really glad I went to see it. I saw Hugh Jackman’s very first appearance as Logan and now I’ve seen his death as Logan. I still fucken loathe the ending of X3 with how they treated Jean Grey and I am never watching any of the Fassfuckery (bad enough he’s in my favourite Alien franchise) but I’m so glad I went to see this.

Relaxing Floors: A Stress-Reductive Approach to Design
Fractals are the building block of many of nature’s patterns and have been scientifically proven to reduce stress and so provide benefits to physical health. This visual language is the basis for Relaxing Floors, an award-winning modular system designed by 13&9 in collaboration with Fractals Research and Mohawk Group. This collection is the culmination of art, science and human-centered design based on fractal patterns, which scientific research shows have stress-reductive qualities. Relaxing Floors utilizes fractals to give our eyes a break from the digital world and deliver the essence of nature to the contract built environment.
Today’s continuous exposure to technology impacts how we live, work and interact, and poses many challenges on physical and psychological levels. Based on their transdisciplinary approach to design, Martin and Anastasija Lesjak of 13&9 worked closely with Richard Taylor, founder of Fractals Research and professor of physics, psychology and art at the University of Oregon, to create the next generation of flooring solutions with Mohawk Group. The designers of Relaxing Floors look to holistic thinking in design and employ strategies that value people in their built environment.
The research that inspired the development of Relaxing Floors led to a whole new strategy of design, which the Lesjaks call human-centric design. “Human-centric design puts basic human needs at the center of design to help us navigate the complexity of our daily lives,” said Martin Lesjak, 13&9 co-founder and creative director.
Taylor was eager to apply his fractal research to develop a flooring that could help society after seeing how surgery patients recover more quickly if given a window looking out at nature (when a person looks at nature’s fractal pattern, the human body relaxes up to 60%). “The beautiful thing about fractals is you repeat a pattern at different size scales but that repetition generates an enormous amount of very rich and intricate structure. In fact, our eyes welcome that complexity,” said Taylor. “It is an amazing opportunity to have an impact on society because we spend $300 billion a year on stress-related illnesses.”
Two styles within the 12" x 36" carpet plank collection mimic the eye movements that take place as we view natural scenery. These movements are much like the flight paths of foraging birds. Software was developed for the team’s design process to create or “grow” a fractal pattern similar to that of a flying bird releasing seeds that will themselves grow into trees and plants. Using specific scientific parameters, the team grew mid-complexity fractals that correlate with stress reduction. Fractals with mid-range complexity, as measured on a parameter scale labeled D, are the most common in natural scenery. Relaxing Floors style mellowD utilizes a line-shaped seed which repeats at different magnifications, while style chillD employs a triangular segment-shaped seed.
The restD plank style builds on the University of Oregon’s studies of fractal-based electronics. These electronics have the capability to connect to the eye’s neurons with the potential to revolutionize the medical world. Under a microscope, these neurons look like miniature trees with fractal branches and glow red due to a fluorescent dye. This fractal form is the starting point of the design. The neuron formations are then transformed into outline patterns using the research on stress-reductive fractals to provide a literal translation. Completing the Relaxing Floors collection is Fractal Ground, which offers a coordinating organic groundcover visual in a 12" x 36" plank format.
“Comprehending the science behind biophilic design is part of our commitment to diving deeper into understanding how we create environments for decompressing and getting away from the overload of technology that we live with every day,” said Jackie Dettmar, vice president of design and product development at Mohawk Group. “Bringing together our transdisciplinary team to create Relaxing Floors has been such a dynamic and amazing experience. Relaxing Floors is manufactured using Mohawk Group’s Duracolor Tricor solution-dyed nylon fiber and EcoFlex NXT tile backing. Duracolor Tricor utilizes a groundbreaking modified triangular-shaped core to deliver unsurpassed stain resistance, colorfastness, durability, color clarity and enhanced soil performance. The collection’s four styles are manufactured at Mohawk Group’s Glasgow, Virginia carpet tile plant, the company’s “Living Site” facility, to achieve stringent Living Product Challenge Petal Certification.
