i'm halfway (damn my job) reading the new fic - ALREADY LOVE IT. I LOVE THESE TWOOOO!!!! However I must ask, how.... experienced are the OCs in the matters of intimacy/romance/sex? Sel I can tell knows nothing of romance and is still finding her way, but what about the other stuff? And about the others? 👀👀

Universe-wise, touch is very sensitive for wolves. Touching anyone outside the pack is downright uncomfortable, if not dangerous. Inside the pack, it's still a sensitive matter cause wolves bond very deeply and easily to people they touch. Close family works, but wolves aren't usually the touchy-feely types with strangers, friends and the least to other wolves.

It's sensitive for witches too, cause they take their magic from wolves, and that's not a connection either side takes lightly.

So, short one-time affairs are super difficult and unlikely, because wolves get invested and territorial (double that for witches) and are wired for long-term partners.

For wolves with high standing in the pack, there is also the political aspect of who would make the ideal match and how to keep the line going (since wolves can't have children with each other, only with a witch or human and female wolves and witch males are very rare). Heirs of big influential packs should marry witches, since that keeps magic in the family, increases the likelihood of witches being born and witches are precious as it is, so they are seen as prizes by many wolves.

OC specific:

Isaiah was way too busy being an adult and an executioner in his teen years and then being too distrustful of relationships for years once he left. He dated humans at the university before, once he got a bit more settled there, but it didn't last very long when they started to ask questions and dig around.

Seline wasn't interested in romance for a very long time, an introverted nerd ahead of her years. She hardly felt any attraction to anyone until she met Isaiah, even when she attempted to date people. The whole being chased around by wolves for being a witch was very displeasing and stressful to her. (Hence why being called a witch by wolves first and a person second is sensitive to her, why she appreciates Isaiah correcting people and why she tends to emphasize her research and career more than her magic).

Matthew had crushes before, but his inability to make friends, isolation, and self-worth problems in his teen years didn't make for good dating opportunities. His temper and shadow scare people off, he wasn't allowed near any pack witches and wolves react very violently to his shadow. :( He doesn't particularly mind as of now, I'm not sure why that is.

Hector has a very one-track mind and his focus was training, lol. The political element is very strong with him; he should ideally get a witch from an important pack that would get the Wolfsons an important alliance. He didn't really care to consider anyone outside those parameters.

Arnie is in a precarious position. On one hand he is human in a very competitive wolf oriented pack that looks down on humans. On the other he is the third son of the previous leader, nephew of the current one and both his brothers are highly respected and feared. You can bet Hector would bite the head off anyone who even looks at him wrong. As a human, he is vulnerable, an easy bargaining chip and the idea hostage to get to Grayson and Hector. So he is both isolated for his protection and has very little friends in the pack itself. After he gets out of being home schooled to uni, his horizons will expand a lot, but he is secretly very insecure (and hides it by being extra prickly which doesn't make for a friendly fassade lol).

I think fandom should stop focusing so much on whether J2 are or aren't close friends. These are grown ass men with wives and children and careers. Just because they aren't praising each other daily or with each other all the time does not mean they are not friends. I hardly ever see my best friend and when we are together we have a great time. Why is there always this insistence that if there isn't constant pics of them together then there must be a problem. Some fans need to get a life.

Should they? Yes. Will they? Wouldn't bet on it.

The fans who are the most super invested in it are so because they want to prove they're right, that they know The Truth™. It's a slightly different flavor of the same thing the obsessed shippers do, where just enjoying being a fan of something gets twisted into a need to rub it in the faces of other people with opinions you don't like that you see/understand/know better than they do.

And yes, especially when you've been friends for a very long time, it's perfectly possible to still be very close with someone you don't actually see terribly often. You can know each other so well that it's like no time has passed at all - even when months or years go by. Even when you no longer have nearly as much in common as you once did. It is also possible for people to grow apart in irreconcilable ways after being very close. Which is even before you touch on the unique aspects involved in J2's relationship being part of their branding in terms of not just SPN but their reputations of what they're like to work with.

The only people who can 100% know what is true for J2 are ... wait for it ... J2. No matter how many times fans count eye blinks, mentally measure space between chairs, or count pauses between quips in panels. No matter how many pictures they do or don't post of them doing things together - which is not inherently the same number of times they're actually doing things together, let alone an indicator of how often they're doing things like calling or texting.

Of course, if you've hung your flag on insisting you totes know better than anyone else that either J2 are or aren't besties anymore? You can't just take their word for it, you have to keep looking for proof you're right and everybody else is wrong (or worse, you're wrong and everybody else is right). No matter how futile and absurd it is.

The children of all shinobis arguing to eachother abaout who are the best parents.

I see Itachi and Neji trying to calm down the pups but at the same time wondering who will win.

In the back ground I also see Kiba, Naruto and maybe Lee betting on it and in the end the winner is Shino because i love him, hes the best boy.

Neji is fully invested and enjoying hearing his pup argue why he's the best. He'll make a surface level attempt to calm it down, but he wants to hear 👀

Itachi finds the whole thing very endearing but he makes more of an effort to calm things down, telling his own pups that he's so happy they think he's the best oma, but that it's not nice to tell other people that their parents aren't as good.

Half of Kiba's pups vote against him because they're little shits.

Naruto's eldest son is his strongest supporter ever and gets very intense, his daughter is a very passionate speaker and dominates the conversation. He doesn't want to step in, but his pups get too involved and invested, so he has to. (His son ends up crying and his daughter gets a little too mean about the other parents lol. His amusement turns awkward real quick.)

Lee proudly proclaims that they are all amazing parents, and that their pups are equally as youthful!

We can say Shino is the winner because his daughter is too shy to get involved and spends the whole time sitting on Shino's lap lmao. Winner by technicality 😆

The reason that children aren't taught sign language isn't because of general 'ableism' but specifically bc that's a whole ass language and thus takes a lot of energy and time to learn - and most of all to teach! (It could be argued that the ableism is in judging this investment not worthwhile). But children would be extremely good at learning sign language because it would have a functional purpose for them (unlike most adults in most situations): it would allow them to speak to each other in class without the teacher noticing or disturbing the lesson (point in case: my friends actually used a finger spelling system in secondary school picked up randomly from somewhere to do this) - I bet this might be another reason for why it is not taught. As well as older generations becoming upset at not being able to monitor what their children are talking about.

#however now i have no reason to learn it at all - and thus even if i were to take a course i would forget and get out of practice very quic #really fucking shit i never got tuaght that in class bc sign language is SO COOL #i would still say that its not necessarily a strange estimation that most chidren NEED not learn sign language for their day to day #and thus why teach it #but i think it would be really damn cool if we just taught everybody #my stuff #personal #TEACH KIDS SIGN LANGUAGE NOW!!

I've seen a lot of posts about Hiccup's kid, who he hooks up with, yada yada, but when I heard Hiccup had a daughter, my immediate thought was "oh, I bet she's adopted." Because 1) I can't visualize Hiccup in a committed relationship, he seems like too much of a lone soul in that regard, and 2) it would be just like Hiccup to find an abandoned baby girl and raise her himself. It'd feed right into the books' "found family/do the hard but necessary right thing" themes as well.

You know, I keep fearing Cressida Cowell is going to go the route of "hook up with Camicazi," which I'd distinctly dislike. But it also seems like something she'd write.

I've always loved the fact that we had an entire adventure, start to end, where Hiccup and Cami were friends. This was a story about children, and we didn't need children to have a locked-in central romance. Any crushes that happened with the young generation were appropriately youthful, awkward, short-lived, and far from end game, Fishlegs-blushing-from-afar affairs. The romances that had substance, passion, tangles, etc. were characters in age-appropriate positions, our adults. I love how Cowell wrote that.

Now, that said, since Hiccup is a child throughout this series, I don't think we can get a good measure for what his adulthood self would be like romantic-relationship-wise. A young childhood adventurer is hard to pin down, whether he'd be a lone soul like you say, or someone taking great comfort in the closeness of people who care for him. It's too early to say. We change lots from our younger years.

I absolutely adore found family themes. They're my happiness, and there's reasons why I'm a nerd for franchises like Voltron or the DreamWorks HTTYD universe. There's reasons I infuse found family, pair-friendship, and group-friendship dynamics in my original writing. I will preach to the ends of the earth how friendship dynamics can be just as fulfilling and engaging in narrative. At the same time, I think tumblr has a biased inclination toward labeling, desiring, and fanoning everything to be found family to an idealized scope beyond what many creators intended. That's awesome for fandom and fun, but it means I don't bear fandom interpretations in mind when guessing what Cowell might be up to! Taking from the same sentiment that led her to pattern HTTYD after her childhood, Cowell is a mother who I think would place high value on a story of a father with a biological daughter.

But all that is Doylist speculation. We don't know what Cowell will do yet, sure. But we aren't restricted by Cowell. It's free reign for fandom imagination! And boy howdy howdy, let's have ALL the fun! And what you have: GREAT fun.

Personally, I see Hiccup as a biological father who cherishes his family, taking the imperfect yearnings from childhood (Mom not around, etc.), the lessons from past Hiccups (ex: Hiccup the Second being abandoned by his father), his abilities to keep those he loves close (ex: his value for Fishlegs and Cami), and his generous spirit... and infusing those into the next generation. History is two steps forward, one step back, but here, he can invest in the next generation and make a step forward.

But my headcanon is no better than your headcanon. It's extraordinarily adorable to imagine Hiccup as an adoptive father! I think this is cute, and it makes me want to toss an extra adopted child or two my headcanon's way XD (I have a thing for big famblies <3 ). Beyond the themes you connected it with, my brain goes to Fishlegs, if you like, who was raised without family, but who had Hiccup as someone to grow up with: Hiccup understands what his best friend experienced, and upon coming across an abandoned little girl, feels compassion. AKA: Your ideas are WONDERFUL and I am all for it.

[[Forewarning you that I know nothing about this breed so this shaming judgement comes from looking them up on multiple sites and reading the actual breed club standard.]] Oh wow, a small short-legged companion breed with a broad head and baby face that's longer than it is tall and has an arched tail. How very original. /s NGL, these dogs are literally so same old companion breed that they do not stand out to me at all, even for coat shaming. Another silky drop coat. Same old. I guess they could be a good investment to save money on an alarm system since they'll just sit in your window barking at everything that moves past it for you for the next 16 years, especially when you aren't home. The hella neoteny vibes they're giving off make me think these dogs are likely incredibly annoying to housetrain and not at all okay with spending large amounts of time alone. I smell pee pads and litter boxes. As you can tell by the face and aforementioned hella neoteny vibes, these are the type of dogs that people use as practice babies and to replace their grown-and-moved-out babies. I firmly slot this breed into the category of Grandma and Empty Nest Housewife Dogs. I just know from their short upper arm without even seeing it that these dogs have a goofy ass bounce run with their front legs straight out, like human children when they're attempting to move quickly on both their hands and feet like a quadruped and they don't bend their elbows at all while moving. And I bet people of all ages, genders, and backgrounds probably find it strangely difficult to not baby talk to these dogs because of the baby face mind control. There's shameless manipulation for treats and attention hiding in those big dark almond shaped eyes.

#WomenInHorror - Relic - Oh, the Thoughts

I bet you thought @tlbodine would get to this first, huh? HAH!

So as part of our ongoing quest to inflict doctorate-level studies of horror film on ourselves for... the sake of doing it, Wuffie and I have been watching a lot of horror movies. Having finished our #HorrorThruTheDecades quest, we moved on to #WomenInHorror, focusing on horror films directed by women.

She's written quite a bit about the movies we've been watching. However, this last week, we watched a film that inspired me into a long-winded post-mortem after we finished it.

Relic is a 2020 Australian horror film directed by Natalie Erika James, focusing on a three-generation family struggle between a grandmother, a mother and a daughter.

Edna, the grandmother, has been missing for several days when her daughter Kay and granddaughter Sam arrive to check on her. We get a little from Kay hinting that her relationship with her mother has been strained, and alternatively, defense of Edna by her granddaughter Sam who has a completely different relationship with her. (As tends to happen with grandparents and grandchildren.) Clues are laid out to hint that Edna may be succumbing to Alzheimer's and quite honestly, the movie does a very good job in showing how absolutely difficult it is to deal with that. Especially in the family situation involving the shift in power dynamic that happens when a parental figure suddenly needs a lot of careful, supportive care.

And Robyn Nevin as Edna? Fantastic. Sympathetic and terrifying all at once.

I won't spoil the film's ending here--you've got to go below the cut for that--but it's at once poignant and plays fair emotionally with the film's overall tone.

Now, for what I went off at great length at Wuffie about... [#triggerwarning for child abuse discussion]

Relic is pretty clearly intended to be a film about grief, aging, the inevitability of death and how part of dealing with health issues in older generations involves facing that you yourself one day may be in that exact situation.

What it also does really, really well--albeit unintentionally but strongly enough that it hit me across the face with a shoe--is create a solid metaphor for intergenerational child abuse.

Fairly early on in the film, the granddaughter Sam discovers a black mold staining a wall inside of a cluttered closet. This black mold becomes a consistent visual element that shows in nightmares, in the house and on Edna herself, staining her skin like a bruise. This mold, through the nightmares, is visually tied to a now-demolished smaller house that'd once stood on the family grounds and was the home of a "great-grandfather" mentioned once directly and alluded to in several nightmare sequences.

This mold grows on stained glass windows that were transplanted from the former house, spreads across the interior of the house itself and spreads across Edna's skin.

Several visual cues tie the black mold to the "great-grandfather" who, in one nightmare sequence, is shown sitting on the edge of a narrow bed before collapsing forward, out of sight. When the camera pans over, a human figure is etched in black mold on the floor.

At the end of the film, after Edna's transformation--you really ought to watch the movie to know what I mean--and the joining of three generations of women in silence together, Sam spies a black spot on her mother Kay's back, hinting at that same mold that destroyed Edna.

Incestuous child abuse is insidious and yet, from the memoirs I've read, always seems to be something the family "knows about" and simply doesn't discuss. A grandparent, a cousin, an aunt or uncle is abusing the family children--sometimes singling out one child, sometimes abusing every child--and the family is aware of this, but no actual steps are taken to bring the abuser to justice.

The cycle of abuse is fairly commonly known, but the long-term effects of child sexual abuse aren't always as easily identified by the public. Alcohol and drug abuse are extremely common amongst child sexual abuse survivors, as well as an inability to develop healthy, trusting relationships with other adults. Difficulties in parenting can also arise as the person who suffered abuse may fear the same thing happening to their child or be struggling emotionally and not able to show their child the affection they need.

Much like the insidious spread of black mold in out-of-sight places, causing illnesses that can't be immediately identified and threatening the structural integrity of a house, incestuous child abuse absolutely threatens and even destroys lives. It's hard to spot at a glance, hides in plain sight--in closets, cupboards, under stairs, behind furniture--and causes illnesses that can be attributed to more "acceptable" causes.

With the clear visual tie to the once-mentioned "great-grandfather" that isn't mentioned between the family members again, it's not hard to go a bit further and consider him the unmentioned, unnamed family abuser. His actions tainted the house he lived in, the remnants brought from it--Edna says later in the film how much she hates the stained glass windows, how cold and scared she feels when she passes them--and spread not only through the house but through the family itself.

And this mold--and the effects of intergenerational incestuous abuse--hits all three women in this family differently.

Edna, theoretically the member of the family who suffered direct abuse, is physically tainted by the black mold to the point it literally degenerates her body. Aspects of her behavior--disliking having "help" or needing to ask for it, offering a token to her granddaughter one day, demanding it back the next, trying to save photo albums from 'the house' by burying them--seemed strikingly like a woman whose coping mechanisms are now failing her.

She mentions believing someone is breaking into her house, stating it only began after the death of her husband. Alone in a massive house with visual, physical ties to the location of her abuse, feeling vulnerable and struggling to push away memories, Edna's actions feel like a cry for help that she can't verbalize because to do so would be to admit not only the vulnerability she feels now, but the fact that it's equivalent to how vulnerable she was as a child, being abused.

Fairly early on in Relic, Kay makes it clear that she and her mother are not particularly close. She makes attempts to stay in contact, but isn't invested in her mother's day to day life and has actually distanced herself to a degree. Her daughter Sam has a closer and more openly affectionate relationship with Edna. Kay mentions her mother threatening to lock her in the old house "when she was a brat" and seems to want a comfortable distance between herself and her mother.

A parent who has endured abuse as a child can have profound difficulty in bonding with their own children. Healthy sexual intercourse and adult relationships are tainted by child abuse experiences, and some memoires have mentioned being pregnant making them feel "dirty" as if they'd committed some great sin. Bonding with an infant while struggling with those emotions can lead to distant parenting and leave a child with an insecure emotional attachment.

Sam, the granddaughter, is the least damaged by the intergenerational abuse at the beginning of the film. She has an affectionate relationship with her grandmother, seems actively interested in doing what she can to help Edna and scolds her mother for not taking a more prominent role. When Sam finds a sketchbook with a sketch of the 'great-grandfather's' house, she doesn't know what it is or to whom it belonged. The cycle of abuse has been broken; Sam isn't even aware that abuse happened.

What she does is learn of it through a visual metaphor for unearthing family history. Discovering the black mold in the closet and pursuing a ghostly figure into what becomes a nightmarish labyrinth that has echoes of the home she'd always felt safe in plays very well as the realization for an unabused member of a family learning about the abuse that happened. What was loving and familiar is suddenly alien and terrifying, threatening and tainted.

By the end of the film--rather an emotionally poignant moment--all three women have been hurt by this black mold (i.e. incestuous abuse) and have come together in a moment of quiet rest. Edna, completely altered into a shell of who she once was, with Kay, accepting that what happened is fact and had effects on her as well, and Sam, who now understands a great deal about her mother and grandmother.

Every generation in the family has been affected to some degree, even if the cycle of abuse was fortunately broken. The black mold not only completely transformed Edna internally, expressed in a striking visual moment, but also tainted her daughter. Even the granddaughter, although physically unharmed by the mold, has been permanently changed by learning about what happened in her family and feeling her perceptions twist (frighteningly so) from what she once held to what she now knows.

While I don't think the film intended to be such a great visual metaphor for the horrific effects of incestuous family abuse and the intergenerational damage it causes, it did an incredibly good job of being one.

-> Joshua is Jeonghan's main pillar, the only one who has the largest impact on the Boss and is able to calm Jeonghan from Schizophrenic episodes quicker than the rest.

-> Joshua is one of the friendliest members in The Purple Rose. He's easier to approach, but do not underestimate him. Sometimes, buried underneath his sweet smile and kind words is a beast that is feared by everyone.

-> Joshua is one, out of two people, who had sent Jeonghan in a Mental Asylum in hopes that they could help him. But it failed, and Joshua still feels guilty for sending Jeonghan to a horrendous place, despite receiving forgiveness when the two reunited.

-> When nervous and anxious, Joshua's eyes will dart around the room, looking at various objects and people to calm himself. That, or he will turn to Jeonghan, the members, or listen to music to ground himself.

-> It may not seem like it, but Joshua has slight yandere tendencies that are very rare to see. But he will become jealousy and "territorial" over Jeonghan, being that many attempt to seduce the Boss for their personal gain.

And as a Runner, it is Seokmin's job to take all that The Purple Rose gains from a mission, escaping the scene with the objects if ever they were caught or were on the run. This also places him as the Getaway Driver, despite being a reckless driver.

-> Seokmin can be easily persuaded if lured into the trap by the right bait. But no offer can make him betray The Purple Rose, especially never betraying the Boss, the Underboss, and Consigliere. He follows their orders strictly, despite bending the rules.

-> Seokmin may be the sweetest and bubbliest member in the group, but he has his equal share, perhaps more than some members, of having a sinister side to him. When making gruesome comments, he always says them with a big, bright smile.

-> Seokmin despises usage of drugs and alcohol. He'll drink now and then, but no more than two cups. Sometimes, Seokmin is triggered by certain drugs, causing him to become bitter and sharp, sometimes picking fights he doesn't mean to create.

The Tale of Bucky Barnes pt. 5

At long last, here is part 5!! I’m hoping to now attack this story with a vengeance! I do not own ANY of the Avengers. They belong to Marvel. I also do not ANY Galavant plot lines. They belong to the creators of the abc show.

The Tale of Bucky Barnes Masterlist

Warnings: Arguing, some humor. Another longer part.

Pairings: Eventual Bucky Barnes x fem!reader, Preserum!Steve Rogers, Tony Stark, Sam WIlson, Clint Barton, Natasha Romanoff

The continuation of the story ended up waiting for more than a week. The team had gotten called away on a mission. When he wasn't working or fighting, Sam was thinking how the story should go. He knew he had to make it good. Nothing less than perfection would do. Not now that he had everyone invested in it. By the time they all had a chance to hear more of the story, Sam was ready.

"SAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMM!" Sam grinned hearing your youngest call his name. He turned and saw her looking up at him with wide eyes. "Go ahead and get everyone," he told her. She squealed in delight before gathering everyone together. "Okay, now we were with Bucky and Princess Y/N in Steve's village, right?" At everyone's nod. "Alright. So...let's go."

"Familiarity breeds contempt." That was the phrase that kept echoing in your brain and Bucky's too. The three of you had been traveling together for weeks now and it was getting tiresome. Every little thing was starting to irk your nerves. To you, Bucky was an egotistical jerk and to Bucky? You were a spoiled princess who snored. The two of you fought over everything. Even Steve was beginning to get irritated with the two of you.

"Princess?" Steve's soft voice asked. You were walking a few feet behind Bucky, just to get some space between you. "Yes, Steve?" Steve looked nervous, like he was afraid you were going to blow up at him. "Do-Do you think you could stop fighting with Bucky? He really needs this quest to keep him out of the mess he was in. If he gets too upset to continue, he may go right back to what he was doing before." You frowned slightly.

"I will stop fighting with him if he stops being an arrogant a-" Steve cut you off. "Enough said. Perhaps I can get him to relax a little." With that, he darted ahead to catch up to Bucky. You were left behind with your thoughts and you hated it. Over the past weeks, your guilt had began eating away at you. Bucky was really convinced that he was on his way to save his love...that she still loved him. It hurt your heart.

In truth, you didn't hate Bucky as much as you liked to pretend. He really was the gallant knight you'd heard about. Even when he was trying to get under your skin, he was obnoxiously charming about it. And he had a heart of gold. His only wish was to be reunited with Natasha and instead, you were leading him into a trap. You were betraying him. You weren't sure if you could keep up the charade much longer. Not when your heart felt a tug every time he was near you.

"OOOOH!! THE PRINCESS LOVES BUCKY!" Your eldest daughter cried out, earning a "SHH!" from all around. She flushed and quieted down. You chuckled lightly. You couldn't believe that every single one of your children and the Avengers were so enraptured by this story that Sam was clearly coming up with off the top of his head. Even Bucky was enjoying it, sitting there with his arm wrapped around you. You snuggled closer to your husband and turned your attention back to the story

"Bucky?" Bucky didn't look at Steve as he surveyed the area. Instead, he hummed in response. "Do you think you could be a little bit nicer to the princess? She's far away from home and probably a little scared. You being unkind isn't helping." Bucky arched a brow and finally looked at Steve. "I'm helping her, aren't I? I'm going to help save her kingdom from Tony and get Natasha back." Steve noticed that Bucky's voice didn't have the same ferocity it once had when talking about Tony and Natasha.

Steve shook his head. "Look at her, Bucky." Bucky cast a glance back at you. It appeared that you were lost in thought and those thoughts bothered you immensely. Bucky felt a pinch in his chest. Maybe Steve was right. Maybe he should be a little nicer to you. True, you could act like a spoiled brat sometimes, but not all the time. In fact, you were quite sweet and pleasant to be around when you wanted to be.

Bucky nodded to Steve, who smiled before returning to where you were. He glanced over to you. You gave him a little smile and the sun shone off your (h/c) hair. Bucky turned away quickly, shaking his own thoughts from his head about how beautiful you looked just then. He was there for Natasha. Only to save Natasha. Right? Now, Bucky wasn't so sure. Somehow, he was beginning to think about what life would be like without you in it now.

He was pulled from his thoughts by your voice. "Uh, Bucky? I'm not sure this is the best path to take. There are stories of bandits in these woods." Bucky rolled his eyes and scoffed. "Excuse me, Princess. Are you the hero?" You opened your mouth to reply, but Bucky cut you off, "No you aren't. You are the princess. I am the hero. The hero chooses the path." Your fists clenched by your sides and your gaze hardened into a glare. It took everything in Bucky not to cower back at the fierceness of the look.

"Bucky's in trouble now," Tony stated with a laugh. Natasha elbowed him sharply. "OUCH!" Your children giggled. "So what's happening in Princess Y/N's kingdom while she and Bucky are fighting?" Clint asked, ignoring what was going on around him. Sam smiled. "I'm glad you asked. We know that Natasha and the jester have a, uh, special relationship. Well, let's just say Tony had a plan for the jester."

Clint appeared and Tony's side and whispered in his ear. The tyrant king nodded. He rose from his seat to make his way to where he now knew the jester was hiding. He stormed into the room, making the jester jump and cower. Tony grabbed a sword and brandished it at Sam. "I know what you've been doing with my wife. And I have just one thing to say."

The jester swallowed thickly. This was it. He was going to die. Tony threw the sword down on the table. Sam blinked in surprise. "Teach me to be funny!" Sam's jaw dropped. "What, Your Majesty?" Tony frowned. "I said, teach me to be funny. It's obvious that's what Natasha sees in you. Help me be funny so I can woo her." Sam readily agreed. He was just glad he wasn't going to die.

"Well, there are a few things to know first." Tony listened intently as Sam tried to explain how comedy wasn't something you could force. He went through everything he could think of, but Tony didn't just seem to get it. Still, Sam had to pretend he was. How else would he be able to keep his head? By the time Sam was done with their lessons, Tony was determined to stage a comedy show for Natasha. Sam encouraged him half-heartedly. "And by the way, if this fails, I'm going to take your head."

Sam found himself praying that, somehow, Tony was able to pull this off. He rather liked his head where it was after all. Sam stood at the back of the throne room, ready to run if necessary. Then again, they had a failsafe just in case. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad. Natasha was escorted into the room and Tony began. Sam groaned as Tony's jokes fell flat. He turned to the chef, Vision. "Give him the pie." Vision turned to Sam. "What now?"

"Dammit, man. He's drowning up there. Give him the pie!" Vision nodded before running up to Tony with pie in hand. Tony looked confused at first, but then beamed. Before anyone could react, he shoved the cream pie into Clint's face. Everyone began laughing, including Natasha. "She did it! She laughed!" Tony exclaimed. Natasha stopped and looked confused while Sam looked relieved. He was going to get to keep his head.

"Daddy, can we shove pies in Uncle Clint's face?" your youngest asked. Bucky chuckled. Clint glared at Sam. "Thanks, Wilson. Uncle Clint would rather not have a pie shoved in his face, kiddo." Sam shrugged. "What about Bucky, Steve and the princess? King Tony and the others are at least safe in the castle, but what about Bucky and them?" Wanda asked. Sam held up his hands in mock defense. "I'm getting there, girl. Just give me a minute."

Steve groaned silently. They were at it again. Just because you suggested a different path. It seemed nothing would make the two of you stop. "If you could just put your ego aside for a moment, you'd realize that maybe I'm right. This path may not be safe." Bucky huffed. "And if you would stop worrying about messing up your hair and clothes, you'd realize that this path is the fastest way to get back to your kingdom."

Steve wanted to cover his ears just to try and drown you both out. This had been going on for several minutes now. "Now, I'm done arguing. We're going this way," Bucky declared, turning on his heel to head deeper into the woods. "Hey, I wasn't done talking to you!" You chased after him and Steve trudged behind you both. The three of you were never going to get through this journey.

You were still trying to get Bucky's attention as you entered a clearing. Bucky whirled around to face you. "That's it. If you don't stop complaining, I'm going to pick you up and carry you over my shoulder." You narrowed your eyes at him. "You wouldn't dare." Bucky took a step closer to you. "Wanna bet?" That set you both to arguing again. You were arguing so loudly, you didn't hear the people creeping up all around you. It wasn't until you felt the cool feeling of steel against your neck that you stopped shouting at one another. "Bandits," you whispered exasperatedly.

"Bandits! They'll never get to Y/N's kingdom now!" your son cried. Bucky gave him a pat on the back. "I'm sure Uncle Sam has an idea about that. Bucky's the hero, remember? He has to complete his journey at least," he said. Then he looked at you and continued, "And get the girl." You smiled and kissed his cheek. "EW." Everyone laughed. "Let me guess, Mom...time to end it for now?" your eldest questioned. You nodded. "Yep. Uncle Sam needs to rest his voice and you three have homework to do."

The children grumbled and so did the adults. "Such a stick in the mud, Y/N," Clint whined. You smacked him across the back of the head. "That's enough from you, mister. Shouldn't you be going to help your own kids with their homework?" Clint blushed. "Oh...yeah." He darted off, making you chuckle. Soon, it was just you and Sam left in the room. "Hey, Sam?" He hummed. "Thanks for doing this for them." Sam beamed. "It's no problem, Y/N. I'm actually having a lot of fun." He really was and he couldn't wait until the next day, when he could continue the story and save the heroes.
