Reactions to Young Master Shield's Chapter 209
TL;DR - Lily worries about failure and disappointing her family. Everyone reassures and supports her. Cale meets academy staff and is overwhelmed by the welcome. Effric keeps saying stuff that makes Cale embarrassed. Sui and Alberu laughing at Cale's situation. A wanderer gatecrashes the event.
Lily's Worries The first quarter of the chapter was about Lily. She was happy that her brothers were attending, but also worried about her future. Like what if she failed? Fortunately, everyone was supportive of her.
CH said with a sincere and gentle smile that he couldn't study and was bad at it. Basen told her that he was bad at swordsmanship. And Cale told her that it was fine to fail. Her family would not be disappointed in her even if she failed. Awww~ 🥰
Effric's "Attacks" on Cale The entire chapter after Lily's part was so hilarious. Effric, the president of Roan Academy, dealt several blows on Cale that made him feel so embarrassed. And Raon's comments that his human's eyes kept shaking added to the fun. 😂
Effric: *bows at a 90 degree angle* It's an honor to meet you, LORD CALE! Cale: ... Various deans from other departments: IT'S AN HONOR TO MEET YOU! Raon: Human, your eyes are shaking! Effric: A lot of people wanted to hear your speech, and we barely managed to reduce it from the tens of thousands who wanted to. Cale: (Huh? How many thousands?!) Effric: We cleared all schedules today for your speech! Hahaha! Raon: Human, your eyes keep shaking! Effric: I'm sure you'll be a great role model for the students. And for us adults too! Hahaha! Raon: Human, why is your smile like a shrivelled persimmon? Effric: I am looking forward to it, Lord Cale. No, Commander Cale. Hahaha! Cale: ...Yes... I'll do my best...
Cale: *sees the academy plaza* Effric: What's the matter? Cale: It reminds me of the capital's plaza. Effric: You're right. It was modeled after the capital's plaza. Cale: *freezes* Effric: *smiles* I guess you remember that time. Cale: ...Pardon? Effric: Where the legend began. Cale: *freezes again* Effric: *talks more about Cale's shield legend in the capital plaza* Cale: *awkward smile*
Embarrassed Cale Next part was funny. The way to the podium had a red carpet laid on it, and Cale felt embarrassed walking on it while thousands of eyes were watching him. Raon's comments weren't helping him either, especially the one about how Sui kept laughing for some strange reason. Cale could only mentally curse and hold it in. 😂
Cale was dressed in his black commander uniform, so the students were very excited. And when Cale met eyes with a knight student, the "Shield" chant began and spread all over the plaza. Cale was embarrassed again, and Raon made it even funnier again.
Raon said that Alberu had arrived and was laughing out loud at Cale... 🤣🤣🤣 Poor Cale... 🤣🤣🤣
We did get some thoughts on Cale about his past. His KRS self found school life as dull, and he found speeches boring, so he decided to keep his speech short. And also a line about original Cale not having gone to school because he was busy acting like a trash.
Speech Curse is Real We were all expecting the speech, right? Unfortunately, Cale's speech curse is back! 😂 Anyway, we find out that CJS actually headed back to report to GoD after his time on the Central Plains. Cale had messaged GoD, asking to send CJS and reporting about his finding of the Five-Colored Bloods being like wanderers, but GoD ghosted him... 😂
As for the speech curse...
Cale to the students: Nice to meet you. Raon: Human, CJS is here! Cale: (Okay, I just greeted them...what now?) Raon: CJS said it was urgent! He said he could sense another wanderer nearby! Water AP: The sky is strange. Cale: *looks up the sky and sees an incoming black dot* Cale: (Is that a person? A wanderer? No, why is this always happening to me?) Cale: Damn it.
Ending Remarks I loved today's chapter. Reading about an embarrassed Cale is so fun~! 😂 And the speech curse at the end! 🤣🤣🤣 Given the chapter title, I guess we'll see the return of Cale's shield legend next chapter. I can't wait for Friday to come!

A Dangerous Game Ch 21
Tumblr media
Emily Prentiss x reader Warnings: language, i think that's about it.
The following week you honestly felt like the heaviest weight had finally been lifted off your shoulders. You started to realize just how down you’d been and were now eternally grateful that it hadn’t been any longer. The next morning you were sat at your desk wrapping up paperwork when a coffee was discreetly placed onto your desk, you glanced up to barely catch Emily striding through the bull pen on the way to her office. From across the room Garcia managed to catch your eye, a wicked grin on her face as she glanced between the two of you.
*
That evening when you got home you were cursing yourself for having not bought groceries, having nothing edible but eggs in the fridge when there was a knock on the door. Your faved penne primavera with extra garlic bread on the side and a mini lava cake all fresh and hot and fully paid for. You scooped up your phone while digging into the bread,
‘You don’t have to buy your way out of this ya know. I already accepted your apology.’
‘Think of it as a double hitter. I… wanted to make sure you were eating.’
‘Turns out my appetite is back in full force this week.’
‘I’m glad. Enjoy your dinner.’
‘Thank you.’
You spent the rest of the evening texting, making each other laugh, watching the same shows from different houses before finally saying goodnight and crawling into bed.
*
You were almost running late the next morning, racing out the door and practically directly into a delivery man, the most gorgeous bouquet of roses and lilies you’d ever seen in the package. You had just enough time to leave them on the entry way table before running to the car, your phone buzzing in the cup holder the moment you sat it down.
‘Don’t worry, those ones are from me.’
You managed to slip into the elevator at the BAU right before the doors slid shut, letting out a breath when you noticed it had managed to trap you and Emily alone together.
“Thought I said you weren’t in the dog house.”
“Still allowed to spoil you, aren’t I?” She replied with a shrug and you laughed, “I’ll stop if you want, it’s just… making me feel a little better about the whole thing. I want to make sure you know how much I actually do care about you.”
“I do.” Smiling, you leant in, kissing her cheek softly, “thank you. They’re gorgeous.”
Emily had just enough time to squeeze at your wrist before the doors slid open and you went your separate ways.
*
Halfway through the morning Derek rolled his chair over to your desk, a bakery box finding home on top of it.
“Brought your favourite.” He greeted and you looked over at him with a small smile.
“You don’t need to feed me Derek, I ate breakfast. But thank you.” You lifted the lid to find that he did indeed get your favourite and began picking bites off the muffin.
“Just checkin’ in.” He replied with a shrug, “you know you have been in a helluva better mood this week.”
“That’ll happen when you manage to escape a toxic ex and get to sleep in your own bed again.”
“You really hate Seattle that much hey?”
“I’d rather move back to Florida.”
“Ouch.” He surveyed you for a moment, practically studying you to see if this was some kind of cover up or if you were actually doing better.
“What?” You laughed.
“Nothing.” He shook his head, “just, whatever you’re doing, keep doing it. A smile looks good on you.” He squeezed your shoulder affectionately before wandering back to his desk and it took all of your willpower to not look over to Emily’s office. You could feel her eyes on you and a few minutes later when you risked a glance up in her direction you found them still on you, doing your best not to laugh as she blushed. You shot her a quick wink and returned to the paperwork at hand.
*
Penelope managed to coerce you into drinks on Wednesday after work and you were thankful it was just the two of you, you knew she was likely going to grill you and that would be almost impossible in front of anyone else from the team. You’d settled in with your third drink when she finally couldn’t hold it back anymore.
“Okay, so I take it from the very improved mood this week that you’ve talked things out?” She asked, a wicked grin on her lips.
“We have…” you took a sip of your drink, “she explained everything, a very big apology was given that I accepted.”
“Oh please tell me you’re back together, you have to be back together, you’re just so friggin cute!”
“I dunno if I’d call it ‘back together’.” You laughed, “but yeah, we’re like, officially together now.”
“Oh thank god!” She squeezed at your arm, “so when are you gonna tell the rest of the team?”
“I… uh.. once we figure out the politics of it I guess? At this point we’re just like, not sneaking around.”
“But the sneaking around kinda makes it hotter, doesn’t it?” She smirked and you laughed.
“Yeah I’ve gotta admit, sometimes it does, knowing someone on the team’s in the next hotel room so you’ve gotta stay quiet…. Adds some spice.”
“And spice is something the two of you most definitely have.” She smirked and your eyes widened.
“I told you to fast forward that shit!”
“Didn’t need to listen to any more than I’d already heard sunshine. I knew daddy issues were a thing, but I’ve always kind of wondered how that would translate to lesbianism.”
“Well you’re welcome for educating you.” You replied dryly, rolling you eyes before taking another sip of your drink.
“All teasing aside, I am really happy for you.” Her hand slid across the table to squeeze at yours, “you deserve happiness and love and you’ve found that, even if it kinda went to hell and back on the way.”
“Thanks Penelope.”
*
You let out a soft sigh, scrawling your signature across the bottom of a sheet of paper before flipping the case file shut and pushing your chair back. Crossing through the bull pen you knocked on the door jam of Emily’s office, pausing a moment before entering, flashing her a small smile.
“Papers fully filled out and everything documented.” You stated, placing the file down into her inbox.
“Thanks.” She smiled back at you before you turned to leave, “hey… good work today. No one else could get through to that girl.”
“Thanks.” You shrugged, turning back to her, “I’ve always been good with kids despite not having the desire to want my own.”
“No?”
“My track record with family isn’t exactly great.” You laughed, leaning against one of the chairs in front of her desk.
“Me neither.” She chuckled in response, “but just because you had shitty parents doesn’t mean you’d be one.”
“I know.” You smiled softly, “but with this job? The hours alone are enough to make me feel bad much less the risks and baggage we bring home.” Your brow furrowed as you realized something, “oh… we’ve never talked about this… it’s not a deal breaker or anything, I just don’t see it being a great idea.” Emily smiled softly, looking up at you.
“There was a time I entertained the idea, but like you said, it wouldn’t be easy with this job. Besides, you know how whiney Sergio gets when I’ve been gone a while, I can’t imagine an actual child.”
You barked out a laugh at that, the smile remaining on your cheeks as Emily’s lips curved into a knowing smirk.
You were acutely aware that outside the office you were being watched, you could feel the eyes on you but weren’t sure who they belonged to. It was Derek, leaning against his desk with his arms crossed over his chest as he watched the two of you through the office windows.
“What’re we staring at?” Penelope asked, settling in beside him.
“Wilson’s been in there too long for just dropping off paperwork.” He replied without looking away.
“Well, she took the interview with that last vic, maybe they’re talking about the case?”
“No.” He frowned, “they’re way too casual for that. Look at the way she just laughed.”
“Aww.” Penelope smiled.
“A week and a half ago Wilson was going through hell.”
“And now Emily’s making her smile, that’s a good thing.” She nudged at his side with her elbow, “I mean, just look at them, Wilson should spend the rest of the afternoon in her office.”
“Why are you so happy about this?” He finally managed to drag his eyes away from the office to look at the blonde.
“Because they’re so freaking cute! Just look at them,” she gestured toward the office, “you can’t tell me they’re not crazy about each other!”
“Baby… Prentiss fucked her up royally, you can’t be okay with this. Wilson was a wreck while we were in Seattle…”
“Oh my love,” she squeezed at his arm, “you have it all wrong.”
Back inside the office you were finally turning to leave, knowing there was only one tiny pile of paperwork sitting between you and the ability to punch out when Emily spoke again.
“Hey… uh.. you have plans tomorrow?”
“Just this little thing called work.” You turned back to her with a grin and she laughed.
“No, I meant tomorrow night.”
“Not a thing.”
“I meant it a couple of weeks ago when I said I wanted to actually take you out…” She began hesitantly, sucking her lip into her teeth.
“Are you asking me on a date Agent Prentiss?” You grinned, moving back closer to her desk so your voice wouldn’t carry through the door.
“Yeah. I am.” She let out a breath, unsure why she was suddenly so nervous, “and I’m really hoping you’ll say yes.”
“If we weren’t getting stared down by Garcia and Morgan… I’d be kissing you right now.” You chuckled, “of course it’s a yes.” She smiled warmly at you, a light shade of pink tinging her cheeks, “you sure this isn’t just about that dress?” You asked and she scoffed.
“Oh c’mon.”
“Your brain short circuited when I opened the door that night and you cannot deny that.”
“Fine.” She grumbled with a smile, “but this is about me wanting to take you somewhere nice, you deserve it.”
“As long as it’s not too fancy.” You teased.
“Pinky promise I won’t order for you.” She smirked back and you laughed, playfully rolling your eyes, “I’ll pick you up at seven.”
“Sounds perfect.”
*
At the end of the day Emily was stuck a little later than she’d planned, a phone call with the director taking loner than expected and a little bit of extra paperwork because of it. She was finally emptying her inbox, tossing the folder into her outbox when there was a knock on the open office door and she looked up to find Derek stepping into the room.
“Hey.” She greeted, “thought you’d taken off already.”
“I was about to, but I didn’t want to leave without talking to you first otherwise this’d be eating away at me all night.”
“What’s up?” She asked, sitting back in her chair and Derek let out a heavy huff, dropping into one in front of her desk.
“Don’t be mad at Penelope… it’s thanks to her that I’ve been fully looped in now.”
“Okay?” She raised a brow.
“You and Wilson.” He sighed, “I was confused, and honestly a little upset to see how civil she was being to you, I didn’t think you deserved it from her, but now I know what really went down. Emily… I really hope you’re doing the right thing here, and for the right reasons. I know that your personal life and what you do outside of this office is literally none of my business, but I was also witnessing first hand when Wilson hit her absolute rock bottom breaking point. And I don’t ever want to see her that low again, so if you hurt her, again, and for real, you’ll never be hearing the end of it from me.”
“I don’t have a single plan in the world to ever pull something like that again, especially to her. And I’d expect you to, I’m glad she’s got you in her corner.”
“She doesn’t have many other options. This team is her family, like it is for a lot of us. I wanna make sure she knows that and that she doesn’t leave because something went south between the two of you.”
“I just…” Emily sighed, chewing on her lip, “I didn’t know what to do so I went with the first instinct I had. I didn’t know how much time I had, how close Dewald was. I didn’t want her to get hurt or killed just because of her association with me.”
“And you suck at communicating your feelings sometimes.” Derek stated, and while he was right, there was a teasing grin on his lips that she couldn’t help but huff a small laugh out at as she rolled her eyes.
“I’ve made a promise of open communication for what it’s worth.” She defended and he laughed quietly, “I just needed her safe…”
“Emily, I get it, I really do. That kind of a case? An unsub who had history with someone on the team, who made it very clear they were coming for you, and that meant her. You were flashing back to Doyle. It makes perfect sense that you wanted to protect her as much as possible, even doing it the way you did. You even made sure that Dewald would know, and then shipped her out of state just in case he didn’t believe it. You didn’t tell her about it because you were afraid she’d pull a you and take it on herself and end up getting herself killed. Hell even if you didn’t realize it, your subconscious did and this time we caught the guy and no one got hurt.”
“Yeah…” she murmured.
“As mad as I was before, I understand it.” He let out a breath, “can I ask you something?”
“Sure.”
“Are you happy? Like truly, really happy?”
“More than I ever have been in my entire life.” She replied, a soft smile on her lips.
“Make sure she knows that. Because that girl cares about you more than anyone in the world.”
“I know.” She nodded, “and I will. She means the world to me.”
“Good.” Smiling, he pushed to standing, “I’m happy for you Prentiss, really.”
“Thanks.” She watched him start to leave the office.
“Oh, and promise me one more thing?”
“What?” She asked with a small laugh as Derek turned back in the doorway to face her.
“For the love of god could you two maybe keep the jet sex free in the future?! I’ll never be able to sit on that couch again.”
Emily felt the colour drain out of her face but the mortification was immediately usurped by wanting to get one in over Derek, a smirk breaking out on her lips.
“Alright, no mile high club. But I can’t make promises about what you might overhear otherwise.”
“What does that mean?”
“Remember back when she first joined the team and we were out in Atlanta? You complained on the way home about not getting any sleep thanks to someone else in the hotel being too noisy…” She grinned and Derek made a face of disgust with a grimace.
“That’s it, I’m bunking with Wilson for the foreseeable future, keep you two apart while we’re on the road.” He quickly backed out of the office, not wanting to hear anymore, leaving Emily laughing.

Remus Lupin headcanons that you can pry out of my cold dead hands
Remus loves music but he can’t sing for the life of him
This does not stop him from trying
He had the fattest crush on Sirius starting in third year but he didn’t say a word
No one realized until fifth year, and they were all sworn into silence
Remus experimented with punk in sixth year and that’s where Sirius got his iconic look
When Sirius ran away from home, James let Remus know immediately
Remus fell through the floo in a state of panic
He refused to leave Sirius’ side for three days, which is how long it took for Sirius to recover enough to tell Remus to fuck off
Remus was heartbroken after The Prank, more sad than angry through the summer and Sirius running away was the last nudge he needed to forgive him
Seeing Sirius pale and injured and so so scared broke any anger that was left
Remus was absolutely amazing at Charms
Despite his passion for DADA, he always got the best marks in Charms
Remus was obsessed with The Sandman comics when they came out
He injured his hip during a moon in fourth year and used a cane from then on (when Sirius could convince him to)
Remus fostered werewolf children while Sirius was in Azkaban
Welsh Remus !! (He once asked Sirius what his favorite color was, and upon hearing that it was red started giggling and only stopped to wheeze out “you love coch!” [the ch is pronounced like English ck])
Remus feathered his hair when it was a popular hairstyle
He hated wizarding robes and opted to wear corduroy trousers with his cozy sweaters
He kept an annotated copy of The Picture of Dorian Gray on his person at all times (and used a different color pen for each reread)
He studied with Regulus in the library even after Regulus stopped following Sirius around the castle
He liked to crochet accessories for the marauders’ animagus forms
He never glamoured his scars away because in second year, while riddled with sleep deprivation, Sirius told him that his scars were so so beautiful
Remus always asked for fun socks as Christmas presents
He kept every pair
He taught Sirius a nightlight spell in his first year after he found out that Sirius had nightmares when he was in a dark room
He knew the spell because his father used it every full moon when he snuck into the basement in between the transformation back and Remus’ return to the waking world
When he asked Lyall about it his father denied doing it but did direct him to a spell book
Hope Lupin taught him everything he knew about cooking
He learned sign language to talk to a younger Deaf student at Hogwarts who he found crying in one of his hiding spots
He gifted Lily and James a cat when they went into hiding so that they would have more company (and because Sirius hated cats)
He regularly checked up on Harry (in secret) while he was still living with the Dursleys
Sirius had to keep him from murdering the whole family
He was inconsolable when he came back from a remote Order mission to the news that three of his best friends were murdered by the love of his life
If anyone had been around during his grieving they would have heard his sobs for Regulus, James, Lily, Peter, and the Sirius that he knew and loved
He knew that his Sirius would never do that to James

Mîr Vin Universe : Origin Story
Ch 4 : Of names and maps
The creature looked at a bearded man . Bearded man was looking into her eyes, absolutely still, as if his only goal in life was to gaze into her eyes. She turned her gaze away, causing Círdan to return to his normal self. She dared not look at anyone else but still asked for glasses. The old man looked at her briefly and said something in his sing-song language. She didn't know what was happening. Her heart was still hammering in her chest. Everything felt too much. So she decided to just look around. While she stared at plants, she realized she knew them but also didn't know them. They're plants she had studied about, but there's something off about them, as if the color and the size were different. There were many flowers she had seen before, but she couldn't recognize. She wandered around, avoiding eye contact. The old man's reaction had scared her. She wandered around as it was helping her calm down. She spotted them, white as she had always known them - lilies. She smiled and went to them. She had never inspected a lily so closely. She sat there, studying every curve of the petals that adorned the flower.
She was calm enough now. But now what next? What are these strange beings trying to do, she thought to herself. She had no idea how she's here. Is this all a dream, or has she been transported somewhere? But where is this somewhere? Calm down, she said to herself. Calm down... wait, what is she called? She tried to recall it but remembered nothing. No, she's called something. She remembers it. She has a name. How could she remember she was in a train, what she does for a living, but not her name? What sort of memory loss is she facing?
She was distracted from her thoughts when she felt someone coming close to her. She dared to look up to see a lady holding out her glasses. She snatched it off her hand, wiped it, and put it on her nose. Her vision cleared. She was about to look at those creatures, then she stopped. What if they freeze like the old man? But she can't know where she is until she tries to strike a conversation, and conversation without looking at someone is hard. She dared to look up again. This time she could see their faces, and she felt goosebumps. They were not humans, she knew it. There was something off about them. They had a leaner bone structure, and their skin was a little translucent. Not enough to make them an entirely different creature but something that resembled humans. She dared to observe more and noticed their pointed ears. Not enough to be different but just enough not to be called human ears. She felt her heart beat pick up pace again. She looked at them longer, and her heart stopped pounding. She didn't know how long it had been, but it felt that staring at them made her eyes focus more on their human features than their non-human features and trick her brain into thinking that they were not an immediate threat.
She was surprised that none of them spoke. She thought, are they frozen again, or do they just not speak to strangers? Let me be the first one to speak, she thought to herself. Only let's do English; it's a universal language, right? They look like what is it called? Elves! Pointy-eared beings. She knows about them, and somehow she's sure that they're elves. Her brain just knows. Ah yes. Aren't elves English creatures? Well, I have heard all their stories in English too, let's try.
"Hello!"
They moved. So not weeping angels. Good. Okay, one more try. "Hello." They began talking to each other. The golden-haired one came in front. She remembered him. She had seen him somewhere. She understands. Everything feels like it's somewhere between her knowing everything and her knowing nothing. She was drowning in her thoughts again. She decided not to muse much but to focus on the present. She could only know what's happening when she focuses on what's happening in front of her eyes.
She realized she had been staring at him, and he was staring at her. Just don't freeze like the old man, please? She thought. The golden-haired man? Elf? Whatever moved and began to undo the buttons of his robe. She stared at him with a puzzled look. He undid his upper robe and presented his robe to her. She looked at the arm that was holding the robe extended towards her. Is she supposed to take the robe? Is it a good gesture, or are they about to kill her for insulting their mother? She decided to just stare at the robe, expecting it to give the answer to her confusing situation. But the robe remained silent. She looked up when she felt that the golden-haired man spoke something. They had a brief eye contact. He just smiled and put back his robe. They started talking to themselves and her. She realized they were switching languages. She switched languages too, greeting them in every language she knew, hoping somehow they'll know what she's trying to say. Yet none of the languages was able to break the language barrier. She could feel disappointment and dread setting at the pit of her stomach. If she can't communicate, how will she know what's happening? She felt like crying again. No, she said out loud. No, I need to get hold of myself. I need to figure out what's happening. I can't just sit and keep crying. She looked around again, searching the faces of everyone present there in hopes of one of them somehow understanding her predicament.
The lady who had given her back her glasses came close to her and smiled. She said something, but once again, she didn't understand. She paused, then smiled again, "Mîr," she said, pointing at her, "Meldil Mîre" .Mîr, she said to herself. She thought, That's a good name for now. No, no, it's a good name until I know who they are. What if they can use my real name to control me like a puppet? Mîr, I'm Mîr from now on.
Mîr, she said again, smiling, then pointed at them. Then they all began to speak one by one: Círdan, Gildor, Glorfindel, Lumion, Feanor, Nestor. Mîr looked at them and tried her best to remember their names. Now that they have names, she needs them to know who she is. But she wondered who she is? How will she explain it to someone? It's not just a language barrier. It's just difficult to tell a human-like creature what a human is. Right now, she can't tell them who she is, but she can tell them how she came here. She can ask them what this place is.She looked around and saw a dried branch. She picked it up. She drew seven stick figures. She pointed at the six as the six elves that stood before her, and the seventh one was her. Then she proceeded to draw a cartoonist version of what happened just before she came to this strange place. She drew the train where she was sitting on a berth. She drew herself going to sleep on the cold hard berth and then drew her waking up here, on their bed. Then she used the stick to point out her surroundings and asked to make them say where? The elves looked around. She repeated her gesture. Another golden-haired one repeated what she did with a stick and said, "Grey Haven." She repeated it, thinking she doesn't know what place it is. Maybe it's just what this mansion is called Mîr thought. Maybe she knows this place, and it's just the difference in names due to language differences.
She looked around and pointed to the lily and said lily. She was immediately told the lily equivalent in their language. Mîr was immensely pleased by this, but she realized that she couldn't remember everything they'll say to her. She needs to write it down so she could learn it and have a conversation with them. Now she needs to let them know that she needs a pen and paper. She used the stick again to write Mîr in English. She pointed her stick to Mîr written on the garden floor and then pointed it at her, saying Mîr. Then she wrote the names she remembered and pointed at them, calling them their names after writing each of their names. The blond-haired one - Gildor came close to her and immediately began scribbling something next to where she had written Mîr. He drew a few artful lines and pointed his stick at her, saying Mîr. Then he proceeded to write next to the names she had written. He wrote each word, then pointed at the person present there, calling their names. Good, Mîr thought, now they all are on the same plane of thinking process. But how to ask for the paper and pen.
She looked at Gildor hopefully. She made a writing motion with her hands. Gildor looked at her for a while. She did it again. Then he looked back to his companions. They talked amongst themselves. Mîr hoped that her gesture hadn't offended them. All the things seemed to be going smoothly so far. The last thing she wants is to be executed in a foreign land because she made a motion that was equivalent to "fuck you" to the people who have saved her.
The bearded one, Círdan, gestured her to follow him and took a few steps forward, looking back to see if she's following him or not. She smiled at him and followed. He nodded and smiled at her and took her back to the room she was in before. Lumion and Nestor exited from another door that was present in the room. Feanor gestured for her to sit on a sofa. She waited patiently, hoping for the best. Lumion and Nestor came back with scrolls. They unrolled one to reveal a map. Well, it was not a pen and paper as she expected, but it's still good. At least she can see where she is. To her disappointment, the map was not of the world where she lived. The map showed an entirely different world. Mîr could feel her mind numbing. She looked frantically to see any resemblance to the place she calls Earth. She looks up and sees Círdan's face. He looks equally confused, as if he expected her to know the lands mapped on this scroll. She looked back to make sure that her eyes are deceiving her and she indeed is not looking at the world map. She looked up again and just shrugged, pushing herself against the sofa, staring at the ceiling. Mîr really wanted to cry now. She had been holding her panic and tears for far too long. Within an hour, she had realized that she had been thrown into a different land that is located in distant lands she didn't have a single clue that it existed. She cannot speak the language of the beings that reside here. And most importantly, everything she knows had been taken away by these creatures. The elves, her brain feeds her. But are they elves? She mused. And even if they're elves, it doesn't assure her of her own safety. What if they torture her, starve her, or kill her in the most inhumane way possible? What is she going to do now?
She took a deep breath. She felt her eyes prickling. She took a deep breath and looked at the elves around her. She gave them a smile and looked at them hopefully. She made the writing motion again. This time she pointed at a word written on the map. She didn't even see where she was pointing, then made the writing motion again and looked at the elf named Glorfindel. He just stared at her like she had done some witchcraft in front of her. Mîr was immediately alert. She has done something as the room was filled with silence. She looked at their faces, but all of them looked at each other like they were expecting the other to say something. What have I done, Mîr thought. Please just make it easy for me. Which entity have I pissed off to get thrown into such a situation?

A Chant for Blood Ch. 17 Excerpt
My fingers traced the walls of the alley and I cringed as my gloved fingers came back grimy. The cloudy sky just barely illuminated our way through the dank alleyways. I walked behind Yorick, my doubt in his reliability to take us to our destination growing as the suns started setting. It was just yesterday when Kesane told me about the ongoing case, and I wanted to get my mind off of the fact that somebody could so easily accuse me of being the organ-stealer. I was eager to help Drusilla in her task, and Yorick seemed all too eager to show me where his portal had dropped him. We were a couple of blocks away from The Day-Lily, and I found myself wondering how Camille happened to find Yorick bleeding out in a dark street.
“How do you know we’re not lost?” I asked.
He turned his head slightly, noting the skepticism in my voice. “Camille took me here when I asked—well, more like drew on a paper. I was confident that the portal would still be here.”
We turned a corner and walked a ways before Yorick stopped. He turned to his right and point down a dark, cramped alley. “Here. This is where it dropped me.”
I could barely see into the dark alley, and I squinted my eyes to see. I wrinkled my nose when something foul invaded my senses, smelling of metallic rot and grime. All that I could see were a few trash cans and soiled boxes, along with dark stains on the ground. I took a handkerchief out of my pocket and held it up to my nose when the horrible smell persisted. “What in the Oriflamme is that smell?”
“That, my dear Grand Marshal, would be the rotting scent of my blood. It starts as soon as it leaves my body, and smells even worse after a few days. Very hard to wash it out. I’ve had to throw many good pieces of clothing away because of it.” Yorick replied, looking anxiously at the sky. I following his gaze, and saw the dark clouds hanging over us. I looked back down and studied the thin overcoat he had on. It won’t do him any good in this rain. Did Camille not think to give him something else?
I decided to ignore his anxious skyward glances for now and knelt down in front of the brick wall to my right. “Yorick. The lantern.”
Yorick walked over to me and turned on the lantern in his hand. The wall illuminated in front of me, and I could clearly see scorch marks decorating the brick surface. It was in the shape of an oval, about as tall as I was. I pulled out a piece of chalk and started drawing a sigil.
“Is that magic?”
“Yes.” I replied curtly, the chalk in my hand halting as I tried to remember the intricate swirls and circles that would require me to activate the sigil I wanted. I planned to do a spell that would tell me if any spellcraft was done recently in the area. I wanted to see if the portals held any magic that could be traced to a source.
“I didn’t know you could do magic. I thought Camille said Makoth can’t do the same magic as everybody else. Are you an exception?”
“Yorick. Still your tongue.” I murmured. The cold that was brought in from the impending rain seemed to have made Yorick more talkative, a revelation I was not excited about.
I put the piece of chalk back in my pocket and placed my palms on either side of the sigil, wincing at the feeling of unknown sticky substances clinging to my fingers. I breathed in slowly and cleared my mind, focusing on the sigil before me. I let the words of the spell flow from my mouth, barely a whisper but still audible. The sigil glowed white as a feeling came over me. I had done this sigil many times during training, but I could not discern what kind of magic was left in the alley. I pushed further with my mind, trying to absorb the feeling into me. It felt unknown, but…familiar.
Something tickled my neck, and I immediately opened my eyes and stood. I whipped around to where Yorick was standing, my heart pounding in my chest. I hadn't noticed the lantern light had moved away from me, and Yorick was back to looking at the sky. It was sprinkling now, and I watched as a drop fell on his cheek and cascaded down his face. He paid no mind, and continued to watch the falling rain.
I wiped away the sigil with my gloved hand and walked over to Yorick. He didn’t turn to me when I stood beside him.
“You act as if you’ve never seen rain before.” I said, bluntly.
He glanced at me and smiled. “No, I haven’t actually. You don’t get much rain in a desert world.” He tucked his hands into his arms and shivered. “If only I was more used to the cold, it would be more enjoyable.”

Cipher Academy ch.46 thoughts
[Welcome Home, Cheater (Affectionate)]
(Contents: shipping, Yosaimura analysis, Kogoe analysis, Anonymity analysis, predictions)
Whoa whoa WHOA! You're telling me that Nakigara, the girl we'd never met whose face we couldn't see was actually Anonymity this whole time??? Who could have possibly seen that coming?!
But seriously, the only thing surprising about this reveal is the speed. We've been in the metaverse for, what, five chapters now? And we're already seeing both Anonymity and Yosaimura come back? We knew we'd see them, but I figured it'd be more of a last-minute twist, y'know?
Not that I'm complaining, of course. As everyone knows by now, Anonymity is easily, without contest or any moment of wavering, my best girl in this series, and I'm always happy to see her. Yosaimura's definitely top five for me too, though her place is still being determined, but getting yuri moments with Anonymity definitely helps her standing
I mean, did you see the look on Anonymity's face when Yosaimura took her hand??? There's no straight explanation for that. Also, the official Cipher Academy Twitter posted a color image of Yosaimura recently, and shockingly (serious), Yosaimura's a blue girl! I had her pegged as a blonde or a silver, but nope, she's an icy blue, not unlike Kogoe, making a nice contrast with Anonymity's burnt orange. On top of that, they've got a real butch-femme look going on, especially in their last panel what with Anonymity putting a flower in her hair. Actually, if anyone is good with flowers, can you ID what kind of flower she's got? That's not a kind of lily, is it? Is it???
Anyway, yuri goggles off, there are actually a good few topics to discuss in this chapter, short as each one is. The first thing I want to address is that we've seen a good chunk of the floors between 1 and 200 now and there hasn't been a single sign of monsters or creatures, it's all basically been escape rooms, which comes with pros and cons. Naturally, it's not that visually interesting to just present everyone with a puzzle and ask them to solve it, but on the flipside, the fact that we've only seen like two of the actual puzzles in action up to this point is a pretty clear indication that the puzzles aren't what we're meant to be focusing on here: this is a character study. Koshibai teaching Iroha to have fun with the metaverse, Iroha sharing a chunk of his backstory, Yugata challenging Kubinashi, everyone coming up with their own strategies for advancement, Yosaimura defending Anonymity, these are all character-driven story beats, whereas the puzzles themselves would be plot-driven story beats, and the former is always going to be a lot more engaging
However, this chapter DOES give us a bit of a glimpse into what kind of fantastical visuals we could get to see as we go deeper into the metaverse. Dekiai's virtual body allows her to effectively shapeshift, so there's no telling what kinds of modes that she or the other AIs might be able to take if they end up becoming the encounters for our cast as we go forward. Here's hoping that Nisio and Iwasaki let us see more of that; I love these character interactions, but I really want some more inventive visuals like Anonymity's false nameplate getting cut in half diegetically
Next, Yosaimura gave us a couple of fascinating glimpses into her character and backstory. We now know that she was telling the truth (or at least partially) in chapter 2 when she said she wanted to avenge her older brother, as she actually does have a deceased older brother, Gokaku Yosaimura. Whether she's actually trying to avenge him, or if she's doing so for the sake of her younger brother, is unclear, but Gokaku is dead, as confirmed by Kogoe being in possession of his bones. I don't know what "unsinkable air graveyard" means, whether it means a graveyard aboard an aircraft or a graveyard at sea kept afloat by air, but the fact that Kogoe was using them as leverage suggests that Yosaimura wasn't able to reach and salvage them and has likely been visiting an empty grave this whole time
Of course, when offered said bones, Yosaimura gets pissed, showing her first big display of emotion in the series. More interestingly, this is the first show of anger that Yosaimura claims to have ever experienced. If that's true, she honestly handled it well, as she was clearly able to restrain herself from actually hurting Kogoe. Sure, she was extremely threatening, with easily the scariest face I've seen from anyone in this series so far, but she ultimately got across the lesson she was trying to impart to Kogoe
Speaking of, Kogoe's tendency to manipulate people when a more straightforward approach of just asking for help would be more useful speaks volumes about her. Iroha was pretty trusting of her up front, presumably so was Toshusai, and Yosaimura acquiesced once Kogoe was honest about her feelings. Kogoe clearly has lived her life thinking that she needs to have leverage over people to get what she wants, that she needs to have a contingency plan for every occasion (spreading the glasses weapons throughout Class A instead of putting her all behind one candidate), and that she needs a sense of control over every aspect of her life. Visually this is represented succinctly through her Earth-shaped glove, putting the world in the palm of her hand, and narratively this is reflected through her status as a warmonger, controlling the flow and development of the world via the cessation and triggering of "inconvenient" and "convenient" wars
Yosaimura's reaction immediately makes it clear to Kogoe that this is not someone she can control, at least not with her usual methods. Yosaimura saw through Kogoe's intentions, that she thought she could control her by dangling the right carrot in front of her nose, and let her know that was not going to fly here. Of course, no one likes to be manipulated, but other people might find Kogoe's offers to be opportunities to take advantage of - not Yosaimura, though. To her, it was an obvious attempt to control her coming from someone who didn't understand what it means to ask for help. Yosaimura correcting Kogoe instead of either walking away or outright harming her speaks to an immense level of patience and forgiveness on her part, especially if she really doesn't know how to control her temper from a lack of experience
I'm sure Kogoe will continue to be manipulative going forward, but I hope that this moment will come to mind for her going forward and serve as the beginning of a lengthy character arc for her
Speaking of brief moments coming back in a character's development, Anonymity refuses to thank Yosaimura for helping her, only to remember that she did the same to Iroha before he jumped out of a tree with her tied to his back. This memory prompts her to thank Yosaimura after all and even go so far as to apologize for her behavior during Leaky Poker
The really fun thing about this, though, is that while it could mean that Anonymity is growing as a person and learning to associate her usual nasty behavior with unsavory consequences, it could also just be indicative of her "anything goes" personality, having the moral principles of a jelly donut and the willingness to betray herself in the interest of self-preservation. Of course these aren't mutually exclusive, and she might self-preserve herself ass-backward into positive character development, or she might end up doubling down and burying herself into a deeper hole until someone (likely either Iroha or Yosaimura) needs to yank her out and force her to see how much of a nasty personality she has. Either way, she's always been a riot to watch, and after this display, I know she's going to continue to be for the foreseeable future
It does look like we're going to be taking another break from them, though, with this chapter mostly serving as a way to tell us that they are also pieces on the board to account for while we focus on other groups. Next time, though, we're apparently going to be seeing a Karigane/Hanagoromo team-up against Iroha/Koshibai/Kasuri, which ostensibly they've done before. Was it against another student or group of students? Has someone else been eliminated? We haven't seen Aen, Mengatasuzume, or Togenanafushigi yet, and all of them were between Kasuri's starting floor and now, so unless they snuck past or were let go, there's a chance that any of them got knocked out by this duo. Of course, it's also possible that them being a duo is something that's been true from before the expedition - in fact, how do we know that Hanagoromo didn't have someone on the inside helping her hide under all of those tables during the first arc?
That's all I'll say on the subject for now since we don't have anything more to go on, but I hope that they'll become our next yuri coupling, I really like Hanagoromo and I really want to like Karigane if she'd only get a bit more shine. Fingers crossed that that's what we can expect from ch.47!

Full filmography for Lily! There are a few borrowed from her faceclaim, but for the most part they're all made up.
She's most well known for Child's Play Date and Between the Willows. Child's Play Date was a potential Child's Play spinoff that didn't have any success at the box office (but Lily got to keep the main Chuckie doll they used since she was so attached to it as a child). Between the Willows was her most popular show in which she played the main antagonist to the heroes, a spirit living in a willow tree that wandered through the town, bringing bad omens. It was cancelled after the third season.

Reactions to Deal Maker's Chapter 201
TL;DR - Cale gives gifts to the kids. Learns about On and Lily's academy plans. Clopeh offers his sword to Cale. Cale is troubled on how to explain Ahn Roh Man's weeb and gaming terms.
Santa Cale It was the new year already when Cale returned from the Central Plains, so following Korean custom (of the author), everyone turned one year older. Thus, Cale congratulated the three children who were now average ten year olds. 🥰
For the gifts:
Hong - 5 of the 9 treasure poisons of the Tang Clan. It was originally supposed to be 3, but the Tang Clan increased it to 5 to thank their benefactor after Cale's miracle in Hainan Island
On - 30 items he got from the GED, like daggers, elixirs, and so on.
Cale gave something to Sheritt too, but it was not mentioned. As for Raon, he brought a basket of sweets and still-steaming hot dumplings for the kittens and his mom. The author is projecting her dumpling obsession on Raon... 🤣🤣🤣
Academy Arc Because On turned 13, Cale thought of sending her to the academy to gain more life experiences and meet more peers. He thought the wolf children were not enough. But he found out from On and Ron that On had already made plans to attend.
Cale also recalled his younger sister Lily. Ron said that Lily would be attending the academy too, but in a higher grade because she wanted to study military science. Of course, Cale was supportive of Lily's decision. 🥰
Knight Clopeh Half of the chapter was about Clopeh, so I'm really happy! Yes, I'm a huge Clopeh fan. I wanted to translate the entire part about Clopeh, but this is a reaction post, not a translation one, so I'm sorry... 😞
Anyway, Cale asked Clopeh what he wanted to do if he could use the sword again. Clopeh went through some introspection about his past with Cale, and ultimately made a decision. He knelt down on one knee and dedicated his sword to his Cale-nim! 🤩
I really liked this part because it showed how Cale's relationship with Clopeh had greatly changed. From enemies to close allies. Of course, Cale pretended to not care much, but Clopeh knew that Cale did care about him. 😂
Cale had CH give the murim martial arts book to Clopeh. He wanted Clopeh to take HD's role and become stronger too. Also something about how Clopeh would now use his sword to save lives.
After CH and Clopeh left the room, Cale suddenly had a bad feeling. It was not a surprise because at that time, Clopeh was thinking something like, "I can't become a legend. But I will help create that path for my Cale-nim!" 🤣🤣🤣 Oh, Clopeh, this is why I love you~ 🥰
Ahn Roh Man is a Weeb The last part was also funny. Alberu suddenly called Cale because of some "emergency." Turns out, he had talked to Ahn Roh Man and misunderstood several terms the latter used. It all started when Cale told Alberu to mention "The Blue One" to Ahn Roh Man and gauge the latter's reaction.
And Ahn Roh Man's reply confused Alberu.
Ahn Roh Man thought The Blue One was a guy 😂
The two agreed to a "hyunpi", but The Blue One did not show up.
Ahn Roh Man said The Blue One almost spilled his "dark past."
Also said The Blue One caused him quite a considerable crisis (because of the dark past).
Hyunpi is a Korean gaming term. Hyun came from "hyunsil" which means "reality", and Pi came from P of PK (Player Kill). It means when two gamers who are having an online fight/argument get so angry that they agree to meet in real life and settle it there personally (through physical violence). So instead of a meet-and-greet, it's like a "meet-and-fight."
I can't think of an English equivalent to that term. But from what I know, some hyunpi meetings become violent enough that it made headline news in Korea. Gamers in Korea are just on a different level...
As for "dark past", it's an East Asian slang. It refers to an adult recalling the shameful, cringe-worthy, and embarrassing things they did in their childhood and teenage years. Most weebs use it to refer to their past as a chuunibyou, but it can also mean the stupid stuff you did as a teen.
So when Ahn Roh Man said he was in a crisis, it was because he was afraid of The Blue One spilling his dark past. 🤣🤣🤣 But Alberu misunderstood that and thought The Blue One was some powerful person who caused the president of a country some serious trouble... 🤣🤣🤣
Even Raon thought the same as Alberu. Cale was shocked in learning that Ahn Roh Man was such a weeb and gamer, and then did a facepalm. Alberu and Raon asking Cale what "hyunpi" and "dark past" meant was so funny. 😂
Cale was troubled on how to explain those terms. And Ron wasn't helping because he suddenly asked Cale if he wanted some lemonade. 😂
Ending Remarks Next chapter will probably be Cale explaining those terms to the Roan residents. And hopefully, Cale's talk with Ron. Cale was actually troubled today on how to explain about the KRS-Cale stuff to Ron, but Alberu suddenly called, so it got postponed.
But seriously, where are CJS and LSH? They still haven't been mentioned! Mary and the half-blood dragon were mentioned to be training together, but what about the Soos? What happened to them? What about Toonka and Durst?
And because today is the 1000th chapter of TCF, our author wrote another Author's Note:
Author's Note Greetings. Today, this Yoo Ryeo Han is sending greetings to commemorate the 1000th chapter. Oh my goodness, one thousand! A thousand! Actually, I still can't quite believe it. I still clearly recall the emotions I felt when the prologue and first chapter were posted. However, I have mixed feelings when I hear that it has already reached chapter 1000. Above all, I am truly grateful. Thank you for joining us. I will continue to write diligently. Hmm… Hmm… Hmm… Chapter 2000… I probably won't give greetings again, right? Hehe Well, once again, thank you very much! -Yoo Ryeo Han
Please, NO. DON'T MAKE IT REACH CHAPTER 2OOO, YRH-NIM! I love TCF, but 1000 more chapters are too much! 😭

I think chapter 9 is my favourite chapter of As the Worm Moon Dies so far. I listened to it on my way to and from puppy class, and I can't stop thinking about it.
There is so much going on - from Sirius getting his entire worldview shattered by Imelda, and then later by Lily and Reg. Reg explaining on the origin of house elves and how he didn't know because it wasn't taught at Hogwarts reminded me of finding out as an adult about residential schools and the government's overt plan to commit cultural genocide because it simply wasn't taught in school. I think it is an important lesson in the fact that history isn't unbiased facts - that the history changes depending on who tells the story. Like when Sirius calls it the Goblin Rebellion and Lily corrects him - Goblin Uprising.
Love all the world building with the magic too- it was all just *chef's kiss*.
This is not where I thought this story was going, I love how it is a commentary on oppression and oppressive regimes in society and how status quo and "facts" can go unquestioned for so long when no one questions the information they are being fed, and can ultimately lead to the dangerous regimes like Voldemort's.
I feel like I'm rambling now so I'm going to stop but...yeah many thanks for writing this. 💜
ahhh closetfascination hello!! <3 first of all hope ur puppy had a good class second of all SO happy 2 hear u enjoyed the ch!!
as someone who has spent quite a bit of time studying history i am definitely drawing from the real-life experience of how subjective it is and my own frustration with the way history is often presented as "just the facts" and some sort of neutral entity when it is, in reality, heavily shaped by various political forces and material conditions [ie, who even has the materials to record history at a given time, etc].
and to be honest this is not where i thought the story was going when i started writing it either lol but! i am enjoying the journey <3 so happy 2 have u along <3

♥️ and for the ask game :)
❤️ What is your favorite line that you’ve written in a fic?
oooo!!! off the top of my head (and only scouring very recent fics/poems that i've written, which is to say not a lot), it would probably be:
sweet tea in the summer / cross your heart, won't tell no other
That summer, the desert barren, swollen with grief; dreams of glory frayed and worn.
a study in reformation (chapter 7)
"Goodnight, Riza. Sweet dreams.” A chuckle, a prelude to something ludicrous. “And by that, I mean you have my permission to dream about me.”  “That would be quite the nightmare, wouldn’t it?” A noise of protest, feigning injury. Her smile doesn’t waver. “Goodnight, Roy. Thank you.”  “Anytime.”
also i think there was a line i wrote in an earlier chapter that was something like "maybe it's simply a proletariat's fate, to trade impractical dreams for rent money" that was entirely personal lmao
i wove a wreath to keep us from death's tender breath
I wove a wreath to keep us from death's tender breath / a peace lily, settling in grief's buoyant sea.
also these are some lines from a song I'd originally intended to finish recording for royai week 2023, but will probably only get around to doing so in august haha...

🎨 If someone were to make fanart of your work, what fic or scene would you hope to see?
OOOOO omg honestly i adore fanart in all forms, but if i had to pick -- there was a scene in the latest chapter of the college au / ch. 7 of a study in reformation that really started out as a film scene in my head. specifically the scene where roy and riza were hanging out at the party alone, gazing at the party crowd uncomprehendingly as they lean back against the cluttered table of drinks and re-evaluating what they know about each other, with roy being all like "there's a lot you don't know about me, and i'm sure there's a lot i don't know about you, too" LIKE. to be known is to be loved and we are slowly getting there >:)))
honorary mentions go to: (i) the scene in sweet tea in the summer / cross your heart, won't tell no other where Roy braids Riza's hair after she gets ridiculed at school, and she sees her mother's reflection in her cup of tea; (ii) the scene in and if this is the long haul, how'd we get here so soon where they're sitting on a bench in the amestrian version of coney island, staring at the ferris wheel forlornly like it's a reel of everything that could've been, if they'd been unmaimed by their sins; and (iii) the scene in no matter the hearts you burn, in mine you shall always remain where Roy and Riza (and their gremlin child Ed) get shoved into traditional xingese garb by a herd of overpowering maidservants.
ANYWAY. I WOULD LITERALLY BE OVER THE MOON like these visuals lurk around in my head like film scenes but i am aesthetically challenged and incapable of drawing anything beyond stickmen unfortunately.
special shoutout to volvare for her incredible depiction of the balcony scene in memento amare and smoothshine for her breathtaking illustration of THAT scene in and you get lost when you're led by blind faith!!! y'all are insane and your art lives rent free in my mind <3
thanks for the ask, lovely! i had so much fun answering this one - have the best weekend!!! xx

the Knight and her Princess, Ch 4
start here: ch 1 ch 2 ch 3
royalty AU, knight!mist x princess!aurora, fluffy fluffy 5+1 things about two idiots in love🪼🎀 five times the famously stoic captain of the royal guard, Mist, was flustered by Princess Aurora, and one time she got her revenge. read on AO3 here or continue below!
4. Dearest
The princess was staring out her window again, her maids observed. It was the third time that day, that she wordlessly gazed out into the distance, eyes seemingly focused on nothing, only to let out a melancholy sigh before turning away. The younger maid, still new to the palace and thus the princess herself, tilted her head in confusion. “What do you think she’s looking at?” Sitting at the edge of her bed, she asked the older maid that night, who had served the princess since she was a little girl. With a sly smile tugging at the corner of her lips, the older woman’s eyes glistened with mischief. “More like who she’s looking for , I say.” And she would not say anymore, even when the young girl begged and pleaded; but the smile on her face remained nonetheless.
(It has been four days since the battalion led by their famed captain of the royal guard, Dame Mist, had left the kingdom.)
The sun shone down mercilessly, bright rays hot and blinding, and Mist wiped away a bead of sweat from her brow. Her soldiers were bone-tired, and so were the horses. The mission was near completion, and they were close to returning home. They still had time, she decided. For now, they would rest.
When the tents were all set up and the horses tended to, it was nearing night time. Somewhere in the close distance, she heard the dry crackling of wood, and knew a fire was being lit. She was about to retire to her tent to study the map in preparation for their travels the next morning when out of the corner of her eye she saw a figure rapidly nearing their campsite on horseback. She stood up, alert, and squinted—it was much easier to see when the sun wasn’t directing its rays straight at her eyes, she mused, and her shoulders relaxed instantly when she’d recognised the man’s uniform to be of a royal messenger of the King.
When he’d approached her by the now roaring campfire moments later, Mist ordered some of her soldiers to take care of the horse and provide the messenger with some refreshments for the journey back. He thanked her graciously and handed her an envelope, sealed with an unfamiliar stamp that, when held closer to the firelight, seemed to sparkle and glisten as if doused with liquid gold. Her brows knitted slightly, for she could not decipher the origin of the unusual seal, but she thanked the man and wished him a safe ride back to the kingdom.
( It was not far from where they were now, the messenger assured her; and while Mist knew that from looking at the maps, the confirmation still gave her a sense of comfort. They were not far from the palace. And, hence, she was not far from seeing her again.)
Later, alone in the privacy of her tent, she opened the envelope. Not wanting to destroy the delicate seal for it was unique and rather intricate, she used the edge of her sword and slid it between the tiny gap between the flap and the back of the envelope, carefully tearing apart the junction of parchment and wax. After returning her weapon to its sheath, she lifted the folded parchment that secured its inner contents, fully expecting to have received a briefing for another expedition, or further intel and developments for their current one.
Instead, what struck her instantly was the almost overwhelming scent of floral perfume.
The smell of jasmine and lily of the valley flooded her nostrils, fresh and sweet, blooming in the air around her and swirling in the confines of the tent. She shut her eyes, inhaled deeply, and smiled. She may not be a connoisseur of fragrances, but she would easily recognise this combination anywhere. Amused, she reached a hand into the envelope now and fished out only a thin, flimsy piece of paper, folded into a square and embellished with a pink bow tied across it. Grinning fully now, she shook her head slowly as she held the little parcel in her hand.
Oh princess, my princess. You are always full of surprises. What do you have in store for me this time?
With all the gentleness a knight with bloodstained hands could muster, she tugged at the ribbon lightly and watched as the silky pink strand unraveled from one singular motion with ease. Unfolding the parchment carefully so that she did not tear the thin paper, which was clearly sprayed with perfume as Mist could see the stains that made the material translucent under her candlelight, she swallowed, preparing herself to read the message. It was rather stupid, she knew, to be so nervous about the whole ordeal when it was only a harmless note from the princess. But was it wrong for her to wish to savour this moment? Any gift from her princess was as precious as a pearl, after all. She was alone, with only the night sky, looking down at her, as her companion. The rest of the world was asleep, and she felt justified in her little ritual of unwrapping the unexpected present.
Having finally opened up the letter, she blinked once, lashes fluttering as she scanned the words that appeared before her.
My Dearest Mist, Aurora wrote.
It has only been four days since your departure, but it feels nothing short of a lifetime. You might laugh at me and think that I am being terribly dramatic, but I cannot help but think of you. I hope that the mission is going well, and you can return soon, safely. I thought about writing more, but I did not want to distract you from the expedition at hand—not when your safety would be compromised by such a distraction. But please know that I am thinking of you, always—you seem to occupy my thoughts every waking moment, and I cannot help but wish that you return instantly, right this moment. I’m being selfish, I know; please do not sacrifice the mission on my behalf. Take as much time as you need, but know that I am waiting for you.
P.S. If you ever find yourself homesick, look up at the moon. I see her shining down each night from the window of my chambers, and the thought that though miles apart, we are still under the same moon and same stars brings me some solace in your absence.
Yours,
Aurora
Following her signature in neat cursive, a little heart has been scribbled in pink ink, and on the bottom of the page, there was a rather childlike doodle. A fond smile spread across Mist’s face as she recognised the figures as herself and the princess, hand in hand, looking up at a lopsided circle that was, supposedly, the moon. And if the contents of the letter itself were not enough to fluster her, a faint lipstick stain called for Mist’s attention in the corner of the page, pink and slightly smudged. Mist shut her eyes and inhaled, the image of Princess Aurora pressing a kiss to her letter forming vividly behind her eyelids. She recalled when the princess had first kissed her, on the cheek—recalled how soft her lips were when they grazed her skin.
Moments later, Mist emerged from her tent, having packed away the parcel carefully and stored it in a safe corner in her satchel so that its precious contents would not be damaged. The wind was gentle, brushing against her skin and caressing her hair like an embrace. Craning her neck, she glanced up at the moon, pale rays glistening in her infinite beauty. She imagined her princess doing the same, and with the thought in mind, each star seemed to twinkle a little more.
Soon, she’ll be home and beside her princess once more. But for now, being under the same starry night sky would have to suffice.

The night was young when YN and her bandmates made it to their dorms for the first time. Stepping through the doors immediately greeted the girls with a clean, refreshing scent which was met with soft whispers of ‘oohs’ and ‘ahhs’ as they trickled in, the occasional ‘wow’ slipping out too which the dorm’s air with a new purpose — to become a home for the girls. They each explored the unfamiliar building, separating into small groups to cover more ground. YN investigated the right side of the dorms with Minnie and Lily and discovered two bathrooms, four bedrooms, and a closet holding the washer and dryer. “Babes, come look at this!” Minnie called to the rest of her group, “we have a washer and a dryer!” She exclaimed.
“They're getting quite popular lately so I’m not very surprised,” Lily responded.
“Yeah, Yeah, I know! But it’s still pretty cool since I never had one growing up.” Lily hummed in response.
“Why don’t we go check on the others, I’m sure they’re done looking around by now,” YN said, turning on her heel and walking towards the common area. Everyone agrees that the dorms are very nice but what won't be as easy to agree upon is who gets which room. There are eight bedrooms in total — one for each member — and quarrels were already beginning to form over who gets which room based on location, windows, who they wanted their neighbour to be, and so on.
ʚ♡♡♡ɞ
After the rooms were decided upon everyone had settled in and finished their nightly routines, some stayed up trying to figure out how the television in the living room worked while others headed to bed. YN was among the majority of whom headed to bed but just as she was about to close off YouTube and set her phone on the bedside table she gets a text.
      FELIX: Hey!!
FELIX: How's the first day in your new dorm been? (23:46)
Smiling at her phone, she replies.
YN: Hey, Felix! It’s been great :) I can really see myself living here haha (23:47)
FELIX: Awesome! I won’t keep you from sleeping for any longer, than. Good night and sweet dreams <33 (23:48)
YN: Thanks ^^ if THE Lee Felix wishes me sweet dreams I won’t have to worry about having a single bad dream for the rest of my life \(≧▽≦)/(23:49)
      FELIX: LOL
FELIX: I’m not capable of all that T^T (23:51)
      YN: Haha whatever you say~
YN: Good night for real now! Let's talk tomorrow, yeah? (23:51)
FELIX: Of course <3 now go to bed!!! (23:52)
      YN: Aye aye, captain!! (23:52)
      Lee Felix.
Felix was a member of Stray Kids, another idol group. YN met him as a trainee since both groups were under JYP and boy did it make her life so much easier. Felix was the only other trainee she was able to make a connection with that spoke fluent English. Since moving to Korea to pursue her dream of becoming an idol she struggled to make friends since most trainees only spoke Korean and she didn’t, the ones that did were often too busy for friendships or, in a few cases, were plain rude. But Felix? He nearly blinded YN with his kindness. They met in their Korean class and decided that since they were at about the same level of fluency — barely conversational — that they could help each other study when they had time off. It wasn’t long before they became friends and started hanging out outside of studying. They would often get coffee together, play games, or even study independently together, occasionally asking each other for help. If they couldn’t see each other in person they’d settle for texting or calling instead. After almost a year of knowing each other Felix debuted, unintentionally leaving behind his best friend. He became so busy that they went from texting or calling at least once a day to barely once a week because once he would get home he just collapsed into bed. Sometimes he wouldn’t even have the energy to shower before going to sleep, forcing him to take one in the morning instead. YN and Felix felt like they were drifting apart and didn’t know what to do about it. Just over three months had passed and Felix texted YN to see if she was free to call since he had a few hours to himself to which YN happily agreed to chat. They talked for hours, and Bangchan nearly had to steal Felix’s phone to get him back to work. Felix profusely apologized for being so busy and not being able to put in the same amount of effort that YN deserved which made her giggle and told him she completely understood and never wanted to pressure him into talking to her if he didn’t have the time or energy. They caught up on what was happening in their lives and YN confessed she was going to debut soon with her girl group LuV iN and even showed him a sneak peek at their debut album. To say he was happy for her would be a grave understatement. He was absolutely ecstatic that she could finally live her dream and ushered her to reveal whatever she could to him. They talked and talked and talked and eventually they fell into a comfortable silence, sending each other memes or posts that simply reminded them of the other. After the call had ended it was close to 22:00 meaning YN needed to begin her nightly routine. A few weeks later LuV iN debuted and gained a lot of attention very quickly. A week after the debut YN started to understand how Felix felt, having 16-18 hour days every day was more difficult than she thought. LuV iN was supposed to move into their dorms right away after debuting but there were a few delays which pushed back their move-in date by two months. Once the two months were up and everything was in order YN and the others wasted no time moving in and getting settled in.
YN laid in her pyjamas staring at the ceiling thinking about how much she appreciated Felix. How kind and generous he was, how funny and charming he was, how he can make her smile just from the thought of him, how beautiful his freckles and lips were, how stunning he was when he smiled, how soft and kissable those lips were, how silky his hair was, and finally how soft his hands were and how she longed to touch them again. Her thoughts and fantasies slowly lulled her to sleep where she dreamt of something warm and sweet, just as Felix wished.

its been so long im so sorry school and crap and all—
Okay so The PV all wait for Clotted Cream to come out and while they wait Red Velcet and Clover mentions how strange kid clotted cream acted and RV mentions how he clearly has eyebags. As he said that, Clotted comes in. He deeply apologizes how he acted, and immediately gave them tea. They all have small chat and etc. knight cookie asks him his relationship with his father. He choked on his tea.
And his response is this: “I’ll be honest; calling him my father makes me sick. I hate him.”
He immediately changed the conversation and they talk more. Night came and they all sleep in Finanicier’s house.
morning comes and everyone is awake. Except Clotted and Custard III. Everyone heats footsteps and sees Custard III holding onto a sleepy Clotted Cream WHO IS BACK TO NORMAL!!!?! Woohooo!!!
Clotted Cream says that he had a weird dream and Clover jokingly said, “A dream that you were a kid and slowly aging back to normal?” Creampuff elbowed him. Clotted Cream confusingly said yes. Everyone laughs and Clotted Cream is still confused.
First off, I understand about school. I've been there. It's a pain. Second, I'm excited about this one.
*Set immediately after Financier invited the Pure Lily family inside (and Clover gets Red Velvet back to deal with this issue). After a few minutes, Financier offers to make tea for the family while they all waited for Clotted Cream.*
Clover: I have to admit...Kid Clotted Cream is nothing like Adult Clotted Cream usually is. He's a bit more...
Red Velvet: Snappy? Yeah. *Sips his tea* And not to mention how big his eye bags are. They're bigger than when we first met. Why is that?
*As he finished saying that, Clotted Cream came back down to the living room with a book in hand. Everyone looked over at him with concern.*
Pure Vanilla: Oh! Hello Clotted Cream. How are you doing?
Clotted Cream: *mutters* Oh...my...Divine Light. It wasn't a dream.
White Lily: *hesitates* No. We're here.
Clotted Cream: *bows* I'm so sorry! I...I didn't know you were actually real!
Pure Vanilla: I-it's alright! It may have been a bit much for all of us to appear at once, especially when you've never met us before. We should be the ones to say sorry.
*The whole family apologizes, leaving Clotted Cream flustered.*
Clotted Cream: I...Um...Thank you. I...will help Financier with the tea.
*Clotted Cream left for the kitchen and the Pure Lily family smiled. After a good ten minutes passed, Clotted Cream and Financier came back with a teapot and multiple tea cups. This soon leads into a small conversation about what Kid Clotted Cream remembered so far.*
Clotted Cream: The last thing I remembered was studying the politics of the Crème Republic. Then I woke up in...your house.
Madeleine: We see. It was...our fault.
Knight: Yeah...we asked your father to have both you and your brother in this kingdom. Just before your birthday.
*Clotted Cream flinched when his father was mentioned. Clover noticed this first.*
Clover: Something wrong?
Clotted Cream: That doesn't sound like something Elder Custard would do.
Clover: Did you address your father as Elder Custard? Why?
Clotted Cream: I’ll be honest; calling him my father makes me sick. I hate him. *looks away*
Red Velvet: *knowing what is happening, he points at the book Clotted Cream was holding* That book. What is it about?
Clotted Cream: *looks at the book before his eyes started twinkling* It's my favorite book. It's about a captain rescuing his lover from her evil mother...
*The rest of the conversation was spent talking about the book Clotted Cream was reading. Before long, it was nighttime. It was too late for the Pure Lily family to travel back to the Vanilla District, so they stayed the night with Financier (much to her dismay).*
*The next morning, Clotted Cream opened his eyes to an unfamiliar ceiling and a slight pounding headache. He looked down to see Custard III sleeping next to him while holding his favorite book from his childhood.*
Clotted Cream: (Where...am I? What was that dream about? And why is Custard Cream sleep in his usual clothes?) *Nudges Custard III* Custard Cream. Wake up.
*Custard III stirred and started to rub his eyes. Once the young Cookie was fully awake, he looked up to see a now correctly aged Clotted Cream.*
Custard III: Big brother!! *Jumps to hug Clotted Cream*
Clotted Cream: Woah! What's that about?
*Custard III doesn't say anything. Instead, he dragged (as best as could) Clotted Cream out the guest bedroom and down the stairs. In the living room was the whole Pure Lily family and Financier talking.*
Custard III: Everyone! Look!
*Everyone looked at their direction and shock engulfed their faces. It was only ten seconds before everyone ran up to Clotted Cream and hugged him.*
Financier: Great Celestial Lights! You're okay!
Red Velvet: It's finally over.
Clotted Cream: What are you guys talking about? I saw you guys last night, didn't I? I did have a weird dream.
Clover: *trying not to laugh/freak out* A dream that you were a kid and that you were slowly aging back to your current age? *Cream Puff elbows him*
Clotted Cream: *confused tilt* Yes? How did you know?
*Everyone started to nervously laugh, leaving Clotted Cream even more confused.*
Clotted Cream: What?
Red Velvet: We'll explain later.
