This is for @calcium-cat!

Unfortunately, I found myself in a rainy sort of mood and did a little bit of young Dream being remorseful (in reference to Chapter 12 of OSD).

I pulled the lyrics from “I’ll be Good” by Jaymes Young. I’m not sure how anyone else thinks, but I think it suits the OSD apple twins very well—especially with the two most recent chapters!

But during class earlier, I was too tempted and started attempting—keyword, attempting—to draw a little dragon Dream for an idea I mentioned in a reblog of Cal’s recent New Years post. I hope you like him!!

In light of recent events in the fandom, I thought I would offer some transgender positivity and representation by sharing my Undertale fics I've made about transgender themes, both for characters in the game and reader perspectives. All trans people and identities deserve to be respected for who they are, no exceptions. You said before that killer got all the 'parenting mistakes' and that nightmare now has more experience being a dad boss, so if one of the other nightmares from the multiverse said they were thinking of getting henchmen but didn't know what to expect, what kind of advice do you think he would give them?

Ha! You were likely expecting a quick and easy answer! Well no luck. I just thought this over and considered the situation this would occur. So you get you answer in a short fic! (With another Noot to boot! Try not to read the tags and guess who he is.)

Another useless meeting. He should have left instead of standing in the back, arms folded, wanting to go home. Perhaps it was just seeing how others were and comparing how different he was that kept him in place. That, and he dragged a Nightmare he had gotten to know along with him.

Still, he tried to listen to the one who called the meeting prattle on and on about the need to rule his multiverse—a genuinely foolish notion.

“That is someone who likes to hear himself speak,” He mumbled to his friend. Were they friends? Is it possible for a Nightmare to make friends with another Nightmare?

“Thanks for bringing me along,” his friend replied. “I now know how glad I should be that I missed all this.”

Rolling his eyelight, Nightmare chuckled, “It is hit and miss for these. We can ditch in a bit. Call me nosy, but I am curious about how a few I remember and do not like are doing.”

“Need your gossip?” His friend asked with a smirk.

“Please, gossiping is infantile. This is silent gloating over the misfortunes of those I despise,” Nightmare grinned. He then looked over the crowd, chuckling to himself now and then when he noticed certain Nightmares that angered him were not doing as well as when he last saw them.

“What’s so funny?” His friend asked.

“If I tell you, then it is gossiping. Get your own enemies to silently gloat over,” Nightmare replied with a smirk.

They were about ready to leave when another moved closer to him. He remembered seeing this one before. If memory served him correctly, this one was from a younger multiverse. He was shorter and more slight in build.

“Were you listening?” The new one whispered to him.

“There is nothing to listen to other than mad ravings,” Nightmare whispered back, which got a chuckle from his friend.

“May I ask you something?” The new one asked.

“You just did,” his friend joked back.

The new one huffed a sigh, and Nightmare chuckled. “Come on, let’s step away from this lunacy and chat.”

The three walked a distance off, far away enough that the longwinded speech of one who called this meeting was nothing but a dull hum in the background. Nightmare looked at this other who looked younger than himself and his friend. “Now, what was it you wanted to ask?”

“Well, I… I remembered how healthy and… mentally stable your subordinate was, and I would like to take one in. Compared to many of the others here, you seemed like a good option to turn to,” The new one said.

Did this young Nightmare just call Killer mentally stable?

“I think he’s asking you for your fathering tips,” his “friend” said with a grin.

Nightmare shot him a glare then looked back at the other Nightmare. He could easily threaten and scare off this smaller and clearly younger version of himself from some small, developing multiverse. And perhaps some others would for bothering them with such matters. But no… this one ne was interested in learning and Nightmare could not push away that desire. Besides, if it meant alternate versions of his boys won’t suffer cruety, he will despense what he knows.

“I see… well, know that your subordinates will need you to provide them with direction after missions as well as during them. Most of my Killer’s distructive behaviors could be attributed to me thinking that he could simply entertain himself quietly. Some can, and some can not. Even Dust does better with metal stimulation and encouragement to participate in activities instead of sitting and wallowing in negative thoughts,” Nightmare said then folded his arms. “These were things I figured out later. Also, be alert to your subordinates wants now and then. Killer, for example, deveopled a some jelousy because he noticed the others getting things. Because he never asked I did not question his wants. Just ask every now and then. Some may feel they have done enough wrong that they don’t deserve to ask and only take what they get. So watch for that.”

“Huh, that’s two with Killer,” His friend mused.

“Yes, well, with him being my first subordinate, I did make a few mistakes with tending him. For example, monitoring what he ate and wellbeing. He was eating, but mostly junk food. The type of mortals we tend to take in are emotionally damaged, and those who are that way do not always tend to their own needs well. They may seem fine, but that is an act. A front to make it seem like they are coping when they are not,” Nightmare explained. Wanting to drive this home, he reiterated what he was getting at. “Pay attention to their mental needs, emotional needs, and the occational wants.”

“If you do that, you won’t be like this guy, who felt so bad about how he neglected Killer that he let his castle get over run by cats,” his friend chuckled.

“It is not over run… but there are too many,” Nightmare sighed then grinned at his friend, “perhaps it is time for your tiny brother to come visit again to make more feline friends.”

“No,” His friend stated flately

“Thank you…” The younger Nightmare said thoughtfully, despite the jesting among the older two Nightmares.

“We are about to head out, I suggest you do too. Meetings like this are only trouble, alright?” Nightmare said to the younger who nodded.

“I will,” He replied.

Nightmare watched as the younger formed his portal and left. He then formed one of his own and the two left.

My thoughts on Calcium-Cat

Before we start, take this meme <3

Calluna’s response is beyond frustrating. I wanted to stop talking about her, but I’m already pressed about personal issues. So, fuck it. If you support her, leave this post. You are not welcome on my blog.

I try to avoid discourse for the most part, but not with her shitty response to the drama. She completely ignores the fact that people were calling her out on her despicable behavior. She uses Christianity as a backbone for her transphobic opinions. STOP USING RELIGION AS A FUCKING EXCUSE FOR YOUR BIGOTED BEHAVIOR‼️

She glosses over her mistakes by justifying it based on her religious beliefs. That isn’t the issue here. The problem is her obvious hatred for trans people based on her Twitter likes. She follows fascists like Matt Walsh. She supports people who want trans folk dead. She has been using a mask to portray a welcoming persona.

She does NOT deserve a platform on Tumblr or anywhere. She doesn’t care about the queer community, which makes up most of the Undertale fandom. Correct me if I’m wrong, but she has (or had) lgbtq+ friends as well, so none of this shit adds up.

I feel like I was a fool for enjoying her work. Hell, I made fanfiction for One Small Dream. I’m considering just orphaning them on AO3, but I’ll probably keep it up for the people who liked what I wrote. I am unbelievably disheartened by Calluna’s action. I am angry at myself for supporting her for as long as I did. I’m upset on behalf of my friends who enjoyed her content and for the Undertale community as a whole.

Horror’s an Absol, Cross is a Mightyena, Dust is an Umbreon, and Killer’s a Thievul.

Nightmare’s a Darkrai and Dream’s a Cosmog(formerly a Solgaleo).

I am so genuinely disappointed right now. Calcium Cat was one of my introductions into the world of Ao3. For someone who so openly supported trans creators this is a surprise. I'm glad they are not being two faced anymore and that they are able to own up to their bigotry. TO anyone who reads OSD (One Small Dream), I ask that you take a look at the situation. Calcium Cat is not just passively being transphobic but they are actively liking and supporting people on Twitter (X) such as Matt Walsh. This is not okay, and I just can't in good conscious support them anymore. I understand they have their own religious beliefs but hiding behind religion to be a bigot is never okay. Ever. I apologize for the bad quality screenshot, they disabled comments and re-blogs after they started getting backlash. If by any chance you see this post and are a reader or supporter of OSD I ask that you do your own research and consider stopping supporting Calcium Cat.

Bestie Meetup!!!

So as I'm sure most of you are aware by now, me and @calcium-cat are very close best friends. We first started talking to one another when she was was finishing her first fic A Little Bitty of Hope a few years ago and we've basically been talking to each other on an almost daily basis ever since haha.

However she lives in the US while I live in Ireland, which are quite far from each other as you probably know, so we've never seen one another face to face before...

But finally, next Thursday after over one hundred days of counting down and planning, me and her are at last going to meet and hug and do all those things besties do when they get together X3.

Both of us will be travelling to London to attend MCM Comic Con for the weekend and to say I'm excited to see my bestie and attend the con with her would be a huge understatement. Thursday seriously cannot come fast enough (though the Con starts on the Friday I am meeting her the prior day so the jet lag will hopefully be gone by the time it starts haha).

As a fairly shy, quiet adult, I still cannot get over the fact that someone is willing to travel several hours overseas on a flight just to see me (attending the con is a nice bonus tho) ... Especially as bestie has never been on a flight before like, girl what? Are you sure about this XD? I still can't get over it honestly, but I'm hugely grateful for it <3.

Rest assured Bestie that I'm going to make sure that this is the best weekend ever for both of us :3! You're super duper awesome once again and I can't wait to meet you at the airport... Even if we'll both be slightly out of it from both tiredness and jet lag XD.

And I promise one day I'll come see you in America!

And that I'll get the next Xtra Small Chapter out before I meet you because how am I meant to look you in the eyes if I still don't have it posted XD

I'm not sure how much we'll really be posting about the trip on here, since I'm sure there's things we both wish to keep private but we still wanted to let our followers know what we're up to, especially since the UTMV fandom is what brought us together as friends and is one of the reasons we're so close. So yeah thanks UTMV fandom for letting me find my best friend :3! I appreciate you all very much <3!

Undertale is for Everyone

Happy Valentine's Day! Yesterday marked five years since the day I first started playing Undertale. It's led me to dwell on what exactly I would say the game has meant to me, with how loaded a question that is. There's so much I owe to Undertale, and the joy it's brought me is something everyone is as deserving to be a part of. Despite some recent fandom events, all members of the fandom need to know that the game celebrates and welcomes them with open arms, which I'll get to more in a bit.

I first played Undertale at a period in my life with a lot of unanswered questions, both for present me and future me. I'd managed to not give it a try in the first few years it was around, but after running into enough Deltarune fan content in the wild when it came out, I played Chapter 1 and loved every bit of the atmosphere and characters, and I wanted to play Undertale right after. After accidentally killing Toriel and starting over, I was immediately drawn into the story it told and the friendships I was making. My appreciation of Sans was there from the start, and here I am, many reader fics with him later, and the rest of the main gang felt like buds I'd been hoping to meet some day. Even the minor characters meant so much to the journey, and by the time it was done and I'd seen what Frisk/the player's kindness and want for peace can do, I was completely hooked and the game rented a free condo in my brain.

What I wasn't expecting was the other ways Undertale's touched my life. I'm trans, and before I'd played, it had only really been associated with discomfort and a wish for things to be better, without much of a light at the end of the tunnel to look at. Undertale's queer-friendly themes and the characters' insistence on being themselves opened me up to thinking about a future where my own kindness and, well, determination can lead me to being the true me. While my trans story was far from done, it helped me see the future as something I can smile about, rather than needing to be afraid. The fics that I've written about Undertale, and especially the bone-friend, since I played have also led me to meet the people I consider my closest friends, as well as being a gateway to other fandoms that have captured my interest. These connections I've made through the game are ones I'll carry with me for the rest of my life.

So, where am I going with all this? Undertale has invited me into a better path than the one I'd been taking, and that's an opportunity I'll forever be grateful for. Unfortunately, there are some in the fandom space who have shared hateful views about people simply for who they are, and everyone should know how far those views are from the truth. Undertale is a game about love and growth, and it is the responsibility of those who participate in its community to follow its footsteps and celebrate everyone for their traits; not just tolerate, but celebrate. For fellow trans people in particular, I've been thinking about this the most; you are real men, real women, and real non-binary identities, and all of those things are represented in Undertale itself. Celebrating trans lives isn't just the right thing to do, it's a part of this wonderful game we're all enjoying together.

Maybe this reaches just two people, or twenty, or more if I'm lucky, but whoever does read this far, thank you for taking the time to see how much Undertale has meant to me over these five years, and I hope you know how much you mean to the community. We're all making it a better place by being ourselves, and I hope the game keeps lifting people up for many years to come. Now, go read that new volume of the Undertale/Deltarune Newsletter!
