im acutally going crazy over any time crowely's voice goes soft. specifically the "it burned down... remember?"
he doesnt want to say it again. not only because of the shiny new trauma he has with the memory, but because he doesnt want to remind aziraphale that its gone. he doesnt want to watch aziraphale's face to fall as he remembers the bookshop—his shop, his home for over two centuries—is gone. its burned down; the building, his chairs, his books, his memories, all of it.
but he has to. so he says it gently. it cant take away the pain, but he can lessen the blow, if a fractional amount at least. he reminds him softly, but doesnt give aziraphale time to spiral.
"you can stay at my place? if you like?"
he says it just as gently, just as soft. its an offer he's never given, a line theyd never crossed before. its new and its scary, but hey, it was almost the end of the world and they might die tomororw. what did they have to lose?
so he offers with a kindness to his tone only ever reserved for aziraphale alone, and even then only shown on rare occurrences. only when he knows the angel is close to breaking. he reminds aziraphale whats been lost, but also reminds him that hes not alone. he still has crowley.

you'd pair marcille with laois? not falin? I'm curious about your reasoning for that (not jugementally!), because I've only ever seen people shipping falin and marcille, and it seems like those two's closeness is pretty central to dungeon meshi -- would you be willing to explain your perspective on that? no obligations to, of course, I'm simply curious because it's an opinion I've not seen before. hope you're doing well!
i get why people ship marcille with falin, especially since a lot of her motivation as the story progresses comes from falin. but at the same time, marcille and laios have more scenes that're definitely implied to be romantic, in my humble opinion — it's not shoved down our throats but it's a smooth thing that happens every now and then.
honestly, [SPOILER] ever since it was revealed that marcille was a researcher when falin was a student, and the canon ages presented in which falin was most likely a teen when they first met completely eradicated whatever ship was forming. [END]
plus, i think what bolstered the marcille x falin train was that one scene in the bathtub. but throughout the manga, we see more of marcille & laios more than anything else.
and i don't wanna compare manga readers vs anime readers but it seems like i have no choice but to do so: it's the dilemma i have with laios x kabru where, yes, people can ship whoever they want to ship but i feel very strongly about how laios and kabru's relationship is just kabru chasing laios in a way, and kabru having a more developed and AMAZING relationship with mithrun. but since kabru is a pretty boy twinky stereotype, and laios is a big guy, people naturally gravitate to it.
then there's falin and marcille, whose ship was even more popularized because of the bathtub scene at the beginning but as everything develops, it's marcille and laios who have more scenes that imply something romantic, especially at the end [SPOILER] where marcille stays with laios and their "monsters" eating each other [END]
i think more japanese fans are into marcille x laios, but western twitter is more into laios x kabru and marcille x falin. but again, this is just my opinion! PLEASE IT'S JUST MY OPINION RAHHHHHH

since we're probably finally gonna be seeing spiderbit back together in a couple days, here's my personal take on their reunion :>
just to be safe:
tw for talk/implications of suicidal thoughts (under the cut)
They stay there for God only knows how long, holding on as tight as they can, in fear of what could happen if they let go.
(It could all change in the blink of an eye. Heaven forbid.)
They’d started their embrace standing, but it was short-lived, the weight of everything crashing down on them as their legs gave out, water building behind their eyes.
For now, it’s finally over. For now, it’s finally just them. And that’s enough.
It’s Roier who finally moves first, lifting his head from Cellbit’s shoulder but not pulling back far enough to leave his husband’s arms. No, he’s not ready for that yet.
He holds Cellbit’s face in his hands, brows furrowed as he stares him down. “What the fuck happened?”
“I didn’t—” the investigator pauses, seeming to rethink his words— “I chose to stay there.”
(He can never lie to the spider-hybrid, in any capacity.)
Roier’s brows furrow even more, if possible. “¿Qué—? Hijo de puta, what were you thinking?”
Cellbit glances away from him, eyes flickering down. He looks… guilty. Conflicted. “I… I saw Richas die in front of me. At least, I thought I did. And honestly?” He swallowed. “I wanted it to be over after that. I didn’t care anymore. As long as you made it. And you did. That was the only thing that mattered to me.”
Roier purses his lips, chest heavy. He understands, in a morbid truth - he really does. He thinks of how he felt immediately after Bobby died and the days that followed. The hours spent in the damn pool, hoping, praying for a way out. Falling from the heights of his castle without a care. The pain that still plagues him.
(He understands better than anyone else.)
But it was Cellbit who started to make him feel alive again. Cellbit who made his world even just a little brighter, even with the storm clouds of his own past.
And he’ll be damned if he loses him, too.
(They’re together. For better or for worse.)
There’s a question on the tip of his tongue. Why didn’t you tell me you wanted to stay?
(He feels like, deep down, he already knows at least a small semblance of the investigator’s answer. And it makes him upset. For Cellbit.)
(Why does this happen to any of them?)
But Roier doesn’t even have to ask. He knows Cellbit knows, somehow, by the way his husband studies his expression.
(They’ve become eerily good at reading each other. That’s just how they work now. But he wouldn’t have it any other way.)
The thoughts come pouring out of Cellbit before he can really stop them; the same ones he’d relayed to Baghera. “I knew you would've stayed if I told you. And I didn't want you to do that. I didn’t want to take the chance of you around me when I was… like that. And this isn’t much better. I’m still—” he recoils, retracting his arms from Roier, who nearly grabs for his hands at the loss of contact. “You deserve better than this, guapito; you deserve to be free, not stuck there on that fucking island, stuck with me— you’d be happier without me.”
“¿Qué?”
(Roier feels like someone just submerged him under icy water.)
“I thought you’d be happier without me. I didn’t think you could be happy around me like this. I still don’t— I—”
Cellbit is interrupted by a sudden hand against the back of his neck, pulling him forward as lips crash against his, and he’s nearly overwhelmed by all the emotions behind it, intertwining with his own.
But he kisses back immediately, melting right into it; of course he does. He knows he can talk all he wants about not wanting Roier to be around, but what he wants and what he needs are two separate things.
They're breathless when they pull apart, and Roier's hands settle on Cellbit's shoulders. “You’re an idiot, Cellbo, you know that? So brilliant, yet so stupid sometimes."
He breathes in, out, catching his breath and trying to gather the right words. “I spent so long looking for you. Hours and hours, every single day, trying to find some sign of you. Anything.
Why? Because I was fucking miserable, man! I felt like shit without you! I missed you, I missed you so much.” His voice falters slightly.
“But—”
“Pinche pendejo—” Roier hisses under his breath— “I don’t care what you think I deserve. I want you. Always. We stick together, no? Not because we're stuck and we have to, but because we want to, no?"
Cellbit nods slowly after a moment, remaining quiet. "Exactamente." The spider-hybrid reaches up, cradling his husband's face in his hands and catching a stray tear with the pad of his thumb. "I will always help you, no exceptions. Remember? Always here, for anything you may need."
The investigator falls into his arms, muttering tearful apologies, and they're right back to clutching each other tightly, securely.
(They're both crying, now. The tears stream freely, knowing they can be. Together.)
(It's not okay right now, but maybe in time, it will be.)
"Desculpa—" Cellbit chokes out— "te amo..."
They hold on tighter still. Roier's voice is muffled slightly, but Cellbit can make out the words as clear as day as the piece he's been desperately missing for weeks slides back into place.
"You and I against the world, gatinho."
And so it'll be.

Okay so I don’t know if I’ll fully flush it out but I DO want to one day write a full cowboy/western au with my own spin on things. I think the main character would actually be Koby sent from the local Militia General to give a letter to Jinbei. Jinbei’s the appointed sheriff of Mil Solada, a flamboyant little town that’s a bit off the grid. So young Koby comes to town and is introduced one instance at a time to its residents. But he starts to realize slowly that it’s not quite the town the Militia thinks it is because, in fact, it’s entirely occupied by the Strawhat Gang. Jinbei’s not actually the law here, because he serves under the boss Luffy. And the letter Koby’s delivering is the summons to Ace’s hanging.
Nami- owns the bar/inn. Big time swindler, gambling queen, certified weighted dice and trick card champion. Will kill a bandit for $5.
Sanji- bar’s chef (but mostly the bartender). Wears the silliest little suits and everyone calls him a city boy.
Brook- bar’s musician at the piano, LOVES to score a fist fight. Also hangs out at the ends of town scaring off rogues that try to come for the boss’s bounty.
Zoro- a full, classic ass Kurosawa samurai.
Usopp- traveling storyteller/toy maker/puppeteer with the caravan and everything, but don’t think he’s a weak mark because he’s a wicked fuckin shot when push comes to shove. (The caravan has a beautiful carving of a ram along the top)
Robin- FIRST OF ALL Native Robin. second of all? Book collector, printing press star. She’s distributing pamphlets. And she’s snapping necks.
Franky- is totally into the big technological boom. The photograph. The telegram. He’s trying to get wires out to Mil Solada but they’re so far from the train line (train accident took an arm, mine explosion took a leg). Also someone need to help Robin with her Grasshopper press when it needs maintenance ohhh nooo. General town handyman BUT he’s working on a wagon that’ll totally kick Usopp’s caravan’s ass in a race.
Jinbei- like I said. Sheriff. Assumed law but he’s actually just using his placement as cover for everyone else to do as they will. Has a significantly different view of justice than the bastards at the Militia, so he’s letting Luffy and the gang act on that justice while turning a blind eye.
Luffy- simply wants to build a town where EVERYONE can be free.
And as he gets adjusted to this strange place, maybe Koby’s realizing just how wrong he’s been about how the world works.
Jinbei gets the letter about Ace and is planning on protesting by not going, but Luffy sees it and starts to plan the Cowboy Raid Of the Century. Full guns blazing. And the plan goes perfectly to save Ace with not a single hiccup, no sir 🙃
