in the au i think to give Luigi a little reprieve his dreams would be horror free. It's waking up that's the nightmare.

Thus his eventual real rescue leaves him a little confused at first when he doesn't immediately wake up.

Angst au question! Did bowser every reach the point to say follow King boos method and just put luigi in a painting?

i don't think so. A big thing for Bowser is that he's kind of convinced himself that this is what's best for Luigi in the long run and chalks up all of Luigi's struggles and attempts to escape as him just adjusting to the situation. Sticking him in a painting and watching him be upset isn't what he's after. There's a lot of focus on physical affection as a way to try and provide comfort without letting Luigi go

he's also just head over heels for Luigi and very much enjoys just being able to hold him

I feel like in your angsty Bowuigi au Princess Peach would probably be sort of mixed on the whole situation, I mean she thought the treaty was a stupid idea from the get go, and with Bowser distracted with Luigi the mushroom kingdom is safe right? So I feel like in the end she would have the mindset of “He brought this upon himself by befriending Bowser in the first place.” Which is fucked up yes but it’s either rescue Luigi and cause Bowser to go on a bat shit insane murdering spree on the Mushroom kingdom, or just leave them alone, kind of a hard stand still, and we all know Mario is having none of that.

i can agree that she would have the thought of "I told you so" about the whole situation but I doubt she would voice that. In A Table Turned during the treaty she was expecting to be proven wrong, and then when she wasn't and Luigi (from her perspective) betrayed her trust and put her people in danger, that's what set her off.

Here? She knew Bowser was dangerous and was proven 100% right. She has no reason to dig her heels in on this one, so I imagine she'd be very sympathetic and very worried about Luigi's safety alongside Mario (not AS worried as Mario, but worried). She'd def try to come up with a plan alongside Mario to save Luigi while also protecting her people. It's a hard spot to be in

How do you think Bowser would react if Luigi started crying in the angst au? I can imagine it to be very unsettling.

unsettling could probably be the single descriptive word for this au lol. 'Creepy' might be the runner-up

but yes it would be very unsettling. As I said Bowser views Luigi's struggles as him just adjusting to his new life, and something that will pass with time. He doesn't want Luigi to be upset, so him crying I imagine would be something that Bowser is very reverent about. He would def do everything he thought was right to comfort Luigi like rubbing his back, rocking him, and saying things to make him hopeful (well, as hopeful as different iterations of "you'll get used to it" can sound anyway), and would speak very soft and gentle.

Ohhhh, Luigi's room in bowser's castle in the angsty au looks amazing! How does it look inside? can luigi use it or is he tied up all the time?

it's definitely very ornate! He probably got some good use out of it in the beginning, before Bowser decided further measures needed to be put in place to keep Luigi 'safe'. Tho he didn't really use anything in the room for its intended purpose

So in your angst au, I saw a drawing where Mario rescues Luigi from Bowser, but the question I have is how exactly did Mario find out that Bowser kidnapped Luigi in the first place? Did Bowser leave a note saying that he had Luigi or did he want to be really quiet about his plan (in that he didn't want Mario, Peach, or anyone else to find out that he specifically kidnapped Luigi)?

there's another post i made here where Bowser sets fire to a toad town to try and get back at the people that were disrespectful to Luigi, and Bowser's got Luigi trapped in the clown car when he does this (I also wrote a one-shot about it here)

I imagine while Bowser's kidnapping (here and here) was rather quiet and Mario absolutely freaked out when he came home to an empty house showing clear signs of a struggle, once the toad town was attacked and word got back to him that Luigi was in the clown car with Bowser looking very upset, it probably didn't take long for Mario to realize who kidnapped Luigi and why

When you get back to drawing, do you think maybe your next series could be the Prisoner AU? I love that one, it's one of my favorite bowigi comics and I'd love to see the full story! But please, take all the rest you need. A table turned was incredible and you deserve a good rest after that! ❤️

are you talking about the Unrealistically Angsty Bowuigi au? Sorry but that's not going to be a full story ever probably. That au is mainly for angst dumping and disconnected ideas.

That said, please be aware that I will be taking a long break from comic making after A Table Turned finishes, most likely over a year. (I should note I'm not taking a break from drawing, just from multi-chapter comics)

nothing serious, but he did get some scrapes and bruises when he almost escaped.

Bowser wouldn't hurt him beyond an accidental bruise, and all the castle staff know never to touch Luigi even if they see him sprinting down the hall, cause Bowser probably isn't far behind him.

Hi there! :) I was looking at your angsty bowuigi au and it got me thinking on this random thought: Has Bowser ever thought about forcing Luigi to marry him? I know it may seem weird, but if you think about it, Bowser marrying Luigi would not only make it harder for Mario to actually save Luigi, but I feel like it would also really force Luigi to accept that he can't ever escape from manic Bowser and his love. Just a random thought I had, but I hope you have a good day! :D

hello! I kind of drew this idea a little bit as a joke before

im not sure i'd ever draw a forced wedding in all seriousness. As much as i enjoy angst and manic Bowser is def a self-indulgence for me i also enjoy happy endings equally as much. I want Luigi to be able to eventually escape, fully and completely. I don't think i'd be able to make a story where the ending leads to hopelessness and disparity.

It's an interesting idea tho!
