I got a hysterectomy today 🤩

#trans man #trans man selfie #hysterectomy #gender confirmation surgery #trans pride #shadow stuff #it went FUCKING AMAZINGLY #zero complications #I left the surgery center in like 45 minutes after I was first conscious #it was crazy #I always wake up fast and coherently #but this was even more so than usual #and I’m usually delayed by vomiting when I’m in recovery #I threw up like 7 or 8 times after top surgery #but I took a pill about 20 min before I went under that’s specifically for people who vomit after anesthesia #and they gave me zofran in my iv pretty much the second was I awake #bc they (and I) really did not want me to throw up after ABDOMINAL surgery #it sucked ass enough after top #and it worked fucking flawlessly #barely any nausea and even a little appetite #I’m also not like woozy/impaired at all like I typically have been for the rest of the day after general anesthesia #my anesthesiologist was a fucking miracle worker apparently #also I am so proud of me my excessive hydrating this whole week and waking up 10 min before the very last time I could drink water #last night really helped #and I think I conditioned myself enough ahead of time to not ask for a drink right away #since that’s usually my downfall #I wasn’t dying of thirst and only sipped at water close to when I was leaving #I’m not even in too much pain #it’s a very familiar type of pain that feels like really severe period cramps so it’s a bit easier to deal with because of that #oh that’s it for tags I had more in me- oh well you get the gist it was fucking perfect 10/10 had waited for this for so long

There's something so funny about the fn*f creator (Scott) being an openly unapologetic pro life, republican, Trump supporter while still having big YouTubers play his games AND having a movie being made, meanwhile JKR is critical (not even doesn't support) of one thing and nobody can even talk about Harry Potter anymore. She wasn't even in the fucking anniversary special of her own goddamn series. Scott literally donated money to trump's campaigns. He is an open republican. I have heard zilch against his movie. Nobody is hating on Josh hutcherson for being in it. No YouTubers is being slammed for playing his game. It may as well be like it never happened. Meanwhile there are posts on here with thousands of likes talking about how if you so much as think about Harry potter then you're a bad person and should kill yourself. Everyone is bummed about the fact M*rk*pl*er won't be in the movie, meanwhile there are people who are giving earnest pleas not to hate on the children cast in the HBO version of HP. Why does nobody care? What fucking gives? What the hell is this? Scott literally openly supports Trump and he's more beloved than a democratic woman who thinks maybeeee taking people to court for saying 'sex is real' is a bit far? Why aren't fn*f fans labeled as bad people? Why isn't their support of fn*f seen as support of Scott and his views? The fuck is this double standard.

i absolutely cannot believe people are trying to start discourse about whether nex benedict was actually nonbinary / whether it was okay for him to describe himself as nonbinary to some people if he didn’t actually identify that way as if he isn’t literally DEAD because he was KILLED. this is a MURDERED CHILD and these monsters are so busy getting mad at the possibility that he might have been a trans boy who described himself as nonbinary to his family because that was easier for them to take that they’re turning a CHILD who was MURDERED into fucking discourse. even when we die at the hands of cis people’s violence, our own community finds a way to make us the villains of the story.

and all of this bullshit on top of the ways that cis people are already trying to say our grief over his death is unjustified. all of this on top of people claiming he wasn’t murdered and speculating on other causes of death (i literally saw someone say he “clearly went home and took the coward’s way out” and i have never been more disgusted) or claiming that he started the fight as if any action on his part could’ve been enough to justify his death. i am haunted by the sound of his father screaming that his child was not filth because that is what people have been saying about this poor kid, that’s how cruelly his memory is being treated, and even the trans community can’t get it’s shit together enough to look past the stupid discourse and see the tragedy in front of us. did you all forget that it was supposed to be up to us to grieve him in the way he deserves when the rest of the world fails to care if people like him live or die? did you all forget that this child was our sibling, the future of our community, a life that we should have had the chance to know and treasure while he was still here but that we now have a responsibility to hold close to our hearts in his absence? nex’s life was precious and it was ended far too soon and if you truly believe that anything is more important than mourning his life and fighting for a world where no more trans people have to meet such an awful fate, you’re a traitor to this community and you do not deserve the place you occupy within it.

i’m so tired. i can’t even imagine how tired his family must be, to see the public treat the child they’re grieving so horribly, to see the world fail their baby again. leave him alone. he was already robbed of peace in life; the least you can do is let him finally have it in death.

🏳️‍🌈Question I couldn’t find a good response to when searching…do people still use “family” to refer to their fellow queers? Is this an old thing? Was it ever a widespread thing or was this specific to who I was around? Is it still a widespread thing now, and I just don’t hear it anymore in my circles?

1999-2005, back when I was first becoming exposed to true queer community (as opposed to knowing individual lesbian or gay folks, the only variety of LGBTQAI+ people I had met to that point) everyone would be like, “so-and-so is family.” Stuff like, “hit up that business, the owner is family.” Or “yeah you’d be fine w/ PDA at that bar. It’s not a gay bar but most of the staff is family.” Or we’d like run into a professional acquaintance and their crew at Indy Pride, get all excited and say to our crew later, “that’s Blah Blah from work! I didn’t know they’re family.”

This was all when I lived in Indianapolis. My queer elders back then were a few lesbians (very close friend’s mom and her roommates and friends) who I’ve since lost touch w/ (outside FB) who are like 55-65 now and they said this all. the. time. So it became how me and my young queer friends back then talked, too. But I never hear it now.

I haven’t thought about this in years and it was so endearing and lovely….maybe I’ll bring it back 😂 I had some major life changes since then (moved to Austin in ‘09 and built a new network where I’m now on the older side of the queers I generally hang with) so I don’t know if this is location or generationally influenced (it’s generally safer to talk plainly now vs. then, etc.)

I’m just curious to know if other folks say this or used to say it.

Tired: After Andrew graduates, Neil gets himself the most basic, unassuming used car imaginable. It’s gray and as universally beloathed amongst the original Foxes as Neil’s freshman year clothing choices.

Wired: Neil has a beautiful, sleek, state-of-the-art sports car because he insisted that he’s ‘fine’ and ‘can just run to the court and get some exercise in’ ‘I really don’t get why I’d need a car, Andrew’ so obviously Andrew took it upon himself to make sure he had something serviceable. It’s not Andrew’s fault that he happens to have standards and a sizeable signing bonus to blow on things like this. The car is still gray bc that’s Neil’s favorite color, but it’s a very pretty gray that actually looks amazing on it.

Inspired: Neil drives a cute little car that would be unassuming—if it wasn’t for the bright orange paint job. It is affectionally nicknamed ‘Carrot’.

last night i got home kind of tipsy and very much in tears and my mother told me the force you exert to keep someone in your life is proportional to the force with which they will leave your life. if you have to fight tooth and claw to keep them, their leaving will be just as hard, just as harsh, and just as definite.

I still havent felt much back to normal since #I got really sick that one time though. There's always part of me that's thinking like. well mayb #e everyone DOES see the same exact thing but we just describe/conceptualize it so differently that we think we're talking about #different things when we're really not. But I have been assured by people I've talked to about it that they can GENUINELY really see #stuff in their heads like as vivid as an actual picture in real life or something. And the other senses are neat too. Like for exmaple I #can hear in my head much better than I can see imagery. I still CANNOT hear vividly like as if I were listening to actual music out loud..#but I think it's developed more than my sight. AND interesting how this varies the creative process. a friend I was talking to on the phone #said they write by literally just watching stuff play before them like a movie. where my process is COMPLETELY different. AND that affects #the content/what details we focus on as well as our individual styles of writing have differences that can be traced back to that.. hrmm
