thought I’d talk about my interpretation of unpleasant because yes (also I might make an ask blog about it)
Ok so lord timeee!! Content warning for some really sensitive topics (genocide, murder, prostitution, implied abuse, etc.) so watch out.
so unpleasant gradient (aka gradie) was born because his mother was a prostitute (so was his dad but much less so) and his fathers parents found out so they made him marry her, obviously that does shit and eventually when he turned 7 his father left and he was left along and u can kindddaaa imagine what happeneds when ur left with this type of mom whis also an alcoholic and smoker…yeahhh, so he gets two sibs (one if them is older the other is younger, same mom) pleasant gradient (older, named penny) and monotomous graident (younger, named mono) who took care of him when his mother escaped without him at 11 years old including a third sibling who used to take care of him when he was a toddler but ran away from home due to his mom (they were mutated gradient). (gradie has a shit ton, you can imagine why lmao) but he only sees it once and never again, so the three brothers have to survive the famine and genocide going around (it started before gradie was even born) but obviously u can imagine what happens in this typa scenerio (gradie had to almost say bye bye to half of his body bc of a bomb at 12 and watch penny die and mono run away then escape at 15 (the scars dwindled over time dw but it’s still there )) and then there is an opurtunity to escape the country with a bus, but theres only one bus ticket, so a random woman gives it to gradie and sends him off bc she knows he has the most potential and promises to find him (its been 45 years he still hasnt seen them) here’s art of what he looked like back then:
so after he escaped he rebuild his life in the land equivalent of AMERICUH and he attends this high school and he falls in love with builderman but decides not to confess and they both decide to graduate together and try getting it big, builderman did it by building the robloxia community and gradie byt writing his experiences with genocide and hiking high feets no one reached, like he won some guinness world record and some new york times bestseller thing- my guy was packed!!!…..until he got hit by a truck and couldnt do anything anymore (sad 💔) ON TOP OF THAT builderman married jane doe and had thier kid (infected) and graide would by to babysit infected since he was a wee little baby.
so kasper got infected at his 12th birthday. But the infected turns him into a vicious furry or whatever (werewolf if you want) and the first time that happened, he fucking ate his parents and gradie literally just came by to give them lasagna and infecteds present, so now his parents are dead, and graide decides to adopt infected (who hates it lol) and they just raise infected while tryna deal with his furry issue (his furry issue caused him to eat his own cat and some residents) and graide is just like tryna fucking hold himself together bc if the kid u had to babysit thats from ur one sided gay lover who married a fugly woman decides to kill yo one sided gay lover and u had to adopt him I wouldve eaten my organs)
and that’s basically it! Expect an ask blog for him soon this week or before I die lol

"Yeah yeah. But you can see where I'm coming from with the attraction" You say, standing up from your "gal squat" (its basically just squatting on the ground but like 🌺Gal🌺 LMAO). She puts her finger to her mouth and gags.
"I do not actually, I think ya just have questionable taste in anyone" She teases.
"*GASP* How could you say that?!" You dramatically put your hand over your heart. Cole looks over at the "scene" you're causing.
"Leave the kid alone ashe, you bully" He jokingly shouts over. Now it's ashe's turn to roll her eyes.
"Up yours cassidy" She tells him, giving him the middle finger. He throws his head back in a loud laugh. You noticed that D.va seems to have disappeared from the conversation and the room.
"Alright, well I've got things to do and people to see. See ya later (Y/n)" Ashe says, walking out of the room and waving at you. You wave back to her and look over to see cassidy just staring at you. (👁👁)
"May I help you cowboy?" You questioned, putting your hands on your hips; raising your eyebrow at him.
"I don't know, can ya?" He shot back jokingly.
"Depends what you want, ya narcy" (narcissist) You tease, walking over to him. Your stomach flips with a weird feeling as he looks at you. Your face heats up. He grabs your waist and pulls you close to him.
"I want to take such a darlin of a person, out on a date" He says, hitting his hat on your head.
"I think i can help with that" You whisper.

the first time he knew about your situation and what you were feeling these days
He felt guilty and mad at himself because he didn't get to manage to see it more earlier
Kaeya WILL visit you daily with flowers!
Theres are no ifs or buts
you will see him at the front door waiting for you
it will become a daily thing until you finally feel better again

Kaeya will be inviting you to tavern to make you feel calm down and to distract you from you feeling upset

Unlike kaeya who likes to distract you and make your worries clear off ur mind, Zhongli will instead give you some "wise" advices on what you want to get good at and be more more supportive of your decisions!<3
He understands that there's a huge difference between a human and an archon but that won't stop him from giving all his best to help you get what you think its missing from you‼️

He's more layback and chill than kaeya, like he will also tell you to relax and to not overwork yourself as well
If you manage to overcome or succeed or surpassed the people that you used to look at with sadness

He will even take you on a peacefully calming date while you tell him about what happened
Zhongli is willing to listen to you 24/7
he will probably request you to do your hobbies or the things you love infront of him

Psssssssst. Hi. I wish to know about ur au with the Injured Messenger I am extremely intrigued. Dead people hell yea
YAY! INTEREST ABOUT MY CHILDREN! This is a very long post cos I ramble a lot lmao
So my au starts with a bunch of sky kids falling down from the stars (presumably after eden) and a new moth joining them, one of the sky kids crashes into the moth, and knocks them wildly off course, causing them to crash into wasteland.
After crashing into wasteland with no idea what they're meant to be doing, the moth, who I like to refer to as "Local Baby", ends up wandering the outskirts of wasteland til they come across darkness. Before realising what it is, they're initially fascinated, finding it beautiful, until their sky kid instincts kick in and they realise "oh this stuff is probably bad". (This is another theme I want to explore in this au too, about how darkness can be beautiful, and how not everything to do with darkness is inherently evil, but that's just a want rn)
Thats when they realise something is under the darkness, they pull at the darkness with their hands (too baby to know how to use a candle yet) until the something is revealed, a dormant spirit (Messenger). Since they dont know how to use a candle (and quite frankly have no idea whats causing their new friend to be made of stone, only that "yay new friend :D") they attempt to wake them up, fail, and just kinda, lie down next to them and fall asleep.
Sky kids, unlike spirits, are a powerful source of light. Even without candle use, kinda sitting next to one for 8 hours is good enough to wake up a spirit. So Messenger wakes up. Initally confused about why they were face down in the dirt, they turn to see the Local Baby staring at them. At first they're like "A child??" before realising "A SKY KID????"
They question why (and how) the sky kid got there, until they realise what happened. This sky kid has just been born, has no clue what anything is, and most importantly, has no wing level.
This is where lore gets interesting for spirits and wing levels. Spirits can fly, but their method of getting wing levels is different than sky kids. A sky kid gains winged light by recollecting their memories, either of past lives they no longer identify with (like our moth here) or simply re-remembering memories they already know (like how our sky kids work). These memories show up in physical form to them as Winged Light, but spirits cant see them.
Spirits gain wing levels differently. Spirits gain wing levels via sky kids, specifically, sky kids who fall down from the stars not fully formed, or perish on the fall. Kind of like being stillborn, or not simply dying shortly after birth. Spirits can absorb the high concentrates of light these sky kids to gain a wing level (this act being referred to as catching stars), but this is very rare, especially in places that don't see as much light (ie wasteland and forest).
Messenger ends up freaking out and realising they still have stuff to deliver, and they cant dilly dally, until a sharp pain strikes them in their stomach and they fall to their knees, remembering "OH YEAH I GOT STABBED BY A SPEAR". Local Baby notices and goes up to them, touching them, and the pain seems to fade. They assume that, the sky kid healed them using the power of light (they didnt) and thank them. In reality this was just Local Baby viewing Messenger's memory, like in the actual game.
Since Messenger needs to deliver things to Vault anyway (a neutral zone from the war) they decide to take the baby along, so they can get somewhere safe where they wont have to worry that someone will take this baby and harvest them for their light.
After this my ideas for this au are a lot less set in stone. I have some general plot beats set out, Messenger and Local Baby walk for a few days until hitting an abandoned outpost, taking an old boat they find, and flying it over to the temple where they arrive from the left (a usually cloud blocked area in game). Messenger sees the aftermath, wound hurts again, Baby helps. They get into vault, some other sky kid accidentally reveals to Messenger that they're dead, they try not to cry. Baby gets their first WL maybe, stuff happens from there idk. They also probably got krilled at some point, well, almost krilled (Yay Messenger for saving their child!!)
As well as some other general lore, like Sky kids eating light as food (and also just fucking biting down into candles sometimes cos i think thats funny), Local Baby only remembering how to get their candle out after getting a WL (because WL are memories and they have no memories nor braincells). Messenger not eating at all because they're dead and not realising cos they're too distracted with the child and/or assuming the sky kid did this to them (things aren't really known about sky kids, so they just kinda go along with it). Sky kids needing to light each other to understand each other, but spirits being able to understand just fine. A lot of minor stuff really I guess.
I'm also currently in the middle of doing some art of them in wasteland because I love them!

first things first: these bitches are Deranged. none of them will be seeing heaven. and i fucking love them lmfao give me that toxic mess !
also i am aware that this is supposed to be a drama but considering i am the master of finding the most irrelevant things hilarious, i was silent laughing throughout most of it lmao. good thing nobody was anywhere near me. but anyway moving on
at the start when tashi chooses the challenger that art will play, i was lmfao-ing at how she was on the atp wta app. like im sorryyyyy but that app is just,,, well. yeah. yall know.
prior to watching btw i had actually read a couple of spoilers & thought dumps on this movie BUT LIKE. NONE OF YALL MENTIONED THE CHILD. THE FUCK. those three fuckers were doing their toxic little mating dance while There Was A Child. brought a new level of fucked up to what they were doing that i truly didn’t expect. hope that kid gets therapy in the future

in the doubles match when they celebrated on top of each other, i think a bunch of ppl in the theater were going all 👀 which i mean sure it’s valid in this case but uh. i was sitting there like that guy at the corner of the party meme thinking “they don’t know tennis players are just Like That actually” (many sports in general actually. the things footy boys do the pitch…… but i digress. still, it was weird to realize that most people are unaware of the homoeroticism of sport. wild!)
emotionally speaking, the thing that hit me the hardest was actually when the tv in the bg started talking abt how that mueller girl won wimby and was basically unstoppable. like the callback is insane and just OUCH it hurt so much because it was so Real imo? like. that is very much a scenario that can and does happen in tennis, and sport in general. there are always the random players who get injured or flop or just randomly retire, and it leaves us wondering: if they had still been at the top of their game, would the face of the sport have changed? so i empathized with tashi’s pain as she saw someone she had considered Below Her now rise to glory that tashi herself would never know. but, as we all know, if if if doesn’t exist. and that’s the thing that pained me the most.
random tinder lady was ridiculous sorry but like patrick literally just told her he was a total loser in tennis and then left her table to talk to another girl. i think she shouldve slapped him the fuck away instead of making out with him lmfao. like girl he is not hot enough for you to ignore the bullcrap. has he even showered. come on.
when tashi and patrick talked tho and she got mad at him for blowing smoke in her face? so real. i approve. i hate secondhand smoke soooo much bleh
that scene where art says he wants to retire and just flops his head on tashi’s lap and asks her to hold him????? only scene that made me feel actual Yearning. like damn get me a babygirl man like that. or let me be someone’s babygirl like that. like platonically or whatever idc just give me those soft touches i want that sensory experience
when tashi asked patrick to throw the match and patrick was like “how could you do this to him?” and basically said that asking that was Worse than her physically cheating on art. loved that shit. i was like damnnnnnnn that’s the all encompassing emotional nature of devoting your life to tennis babey!
in general actually a lot of their lines were soooo snappy and shit and like. i enjoyed that
but honestly my suspension of disbelief was kinda shattered a bit in the arguing in the car scene cause like. i was so fucking stressed. they were driving fast in the middle of a fucking storm at midnight and neither had a seatbelt i think and i swear there was a point where patrick looked at tashi for like five whole seconds while driving. LIKE PLEASE. god. can’t you guys be toxic bitches while obeying traffic rules? 😔
anyway. the camera shots from the floor during the match itself oh my GOD im obsessed. especially during the serve. wish i could gif those. god. yeah. yeahhhhh
speaking of the match though. idk some stuff with the scoring graphic felt off? i got a bit confused at some point. might be imagining it tho lmao
ball perspective was so fucking funny tho. i mean it worked i think but i kept thinking like imagine if we had ballcam with the tour big hitters. poor balls. they go thru so much. may they rest in peace.

Thats what I said out loud when I read the scene with dear mom cause damn even I was flabbergasted. Like I read the random crumbs from Patreon readers so I thought I could handle it but... I could not.
Honestly, if it was me, I dont think I could handle a conversation with her after the prison break, I would probs be balling my eyes out behind my friends, my buddies, my homies [I wanted to read the friendship scenes] cause that was one hell of a talk I would not willingly be in. Like she only thought about fixing the relationship when she saw you in Ishari. AND she brought her kid with her!!! How could you do that??!?! You didnt speak to your kid for 20 YEARS and you thought it was the best time to introduce each other.
It may sound weird but I also never thought Ahlf was a bad dad. He just seemed like a regular asian dad to me. Emotionally constipated, but at least still tries to push thru the constipation you know. Doesn't really succeed but he broke out a sweat. A+ for effort.
My god, Salyra... How was it possible to never even mention your kid in 20 years? I couldnt even shut up about my dog to some random strangers. And it wasn't even my dog, it was my neighbours! The best shih tzu you could ask for honestly. So glad 7 year old me took shitty photos of her that ended up being developed by accident and till this day is still stored in my family photo album.
I dont think I would be able to sit thru the meeting with Salyra there lmao, I probs would bring Crown in as my emotional support animal. Maybe he can give Salyra a good hard glare for making MC go thru this shit.

I really do love complicated parents in fiction and I really wanted people to realise that not everything is quite clear cut, especially since for many, Ahlf was the somewhat worse of the parents considering his reluctance in becoming a father.
Salyra definitely made mistakes and in a way, she might be a little too hopeful for a huge happy reunion with the MC. She isn't quite aware of what the NC went through, so all she sees is just an older version of the 5 year old child she left behind 😅
You definitely will get to see the Vinia family react to Salyra by Part 3 😊 They'll all be feeling some sort of way, mostly the MC's uncle because Salyra's decision to remain in Ishari routine really hit him hard 👀

I'm crying omg!!!
3 minutes in. Wu Xin immediately beelines for Xiao Se. Alright ship i see u. Lei immediately tries to bodily shield Xiao Se behind him. Which looks like a child trying to protect a parent honestly.
I am suddenly wondering if this took any inspiration from Word of Honor particularly Wen Kexing, Zhou Zishu, and Zhang Chengling as their kid. Because Lei is a touch older and these 2 a touch younger, but Xiao Se is taking a very parental almost supervising role over Lei, since he came to check on him and keep his dumbass from continuing to fight and get hurt. Since Xiao Se is the man with secrets acting like he needs Lei for a burdensome money collection - which he does - but also like he may develop a soft spot for Lei over time. Despite being so cold and calculating now. Meanwhile you've got Wu Xin who's giving Wen Kexing vibes in terms of STRANGER DANGER BLARING so instinctively that Lei even felt the need in his pure innocent single minded heart to need to shield and protect Xiao Se in the first place. (And its Liu Xueyi known by me best for his shady roles as Xiao Hua and terrifying horror that is Bai Lin so I love that he's getting to play an intimidating guy here).
Meanwhile Wu Xin wakes up. Looks around then eyes Xiao Se and just LOCKS ON. "Oh hi, I'm wondering if you'd like to come somewhere with me~"
IM CRYING THATS SO FUCKING FUNNY
Xiao Se: no I don't.
Lmao. Xiao Se shut that down FAST. (And have I mentioned how much I love Xiao Se's character type as the lead of a wuxia? Someone who doesn't do martial arts in the smack center of a wuxia! Someone who counts property damage and has real life shit to do but is trying not to die in a wuxia battle as ppl fight on the carriage he's in and smash it, Someone immediately looked at and approached by God-Power-Level unknown monk guy that he was curious about before cause hey valuable, but is now like nah dude I'm not trying to die ill just leave. I love how he's both the straight man comedically and this very Like Us mundane dude in a very Over The Top superpower heavy wuxia.
Okay so again. I don't know if the novel and donghua this is based on is older than Word of Honor. And I don't know therefore if it could've been inspired at all. Maybe it's coincidence. I do think though perhaps the Instant "is this possibly bl" vibe hits though because of certain similarities. Wu Xin (at least so far) hasn't gone full on gay compliments galore of beauty and I wanna bang you (which made wen kexings crush anvil heavy obvious immediately), but he is visually approaching Xiao Se immediately the same kind of way Wen Kexing did. Singling him out visually, going right for "want to come with me?" And giving me the impression even though Xiao Se said no (like Zhou zishu did) that Wu Xin is still going to travel with him. And Xiao Se has his own kid he's hauling around (Lei) just like Zhou Zishu had Zhang Chengling. Even if the dynamics are bound to be unique as these characters already are, the sort of opening WoH did has some similarities here in character meeting.
Mildly related but it would be kinda fun if the new "trope" was very bl vibes parental units with a third person slightly younger, which makes it "brotherhood" as a big trio but has space to be kinda shippy as the writers desire since the third one is more like their kid then partner. Heroes sort of did this even, from the few eps I watched, with the main boy (and girl) being immediately painted as a bit younger and more naive than Bai Choufei and the guy in red (and girl in white). WoH of course did this, it's the story. Xena way back in the day actually did this a lot - first Joxer as a 3rd to the trio that the girls did not love romantically like they did each other but did love him familially, then the kids and later sort of students they'd pick up temporarily and mentor. Guardian didn't do exactly this obviously but the group investigation unit structure I do think helps have a found family vibe take the main stage and romances become less !!! If downplaying a relationship is desired (I imagine that's also true for The Sleuth of Ming Dynasty? Since it's very found family). Dmbj is not bl lol, but it's main structure of usually a trio and (wu xie you know it's true) wu xie being a bit super close to some guy (interpret as the reader desires depending on the book) works well in part cayse there's usually a trio to emphasize the overall found family/team dynamic, rather than all the focus going to 1 specific pair solely. (Alrhough dmbj is it's own beast... new stuff is purposely trying to put heihua alone pretty front and center, meanwhile xiaoge and pangzi read more as mentors of wu xie but they don't get shipped much instead wu xie shipped with one of them is the norm since he likes older men ). My point is!!! If you DO happen to have a couple in a show (or just a pair with couple potential for fans), there's a way to lean into that partner dynamic in writing without making it the Only Dynamic if say you can't pair those two. And that's by making a trio or bigger found family group, so there's an overall team dynamic going on. I'm just thinking to myself if that's an avenue where we might be seeing more bl like stuff or just fandom getting into stuff. My Roommate is a Detective leaned this route, as did Detective L (Detective L low key shipped the main lead man and woman but the trio element let them keep it from too much focus as they didn't want heavy focus on that, meanwhile mriad oppositely leaned heavy into the bl pair).
On another note. Xiao Se reminds me of Shang Qinghua in svsss a tiny bit, except if he was smarter sjjdjd
I just love Xiao Se okay. He's like a Nirvana in Fire prince got kicked out of politics, retired to run a little in to survive, and the entire jianghu of martial artists suddenly swarmed him like the plague with their super moves and flying fire and he was like... goddamn I'm just trying to get to Xueyue city for some money I inherited... I love deeply he doesn't do martial arts and yet that's the Genre hes in. It's like contemplating in Word of Honor if palace shit plot was going on with a bunch of totally mundane people, then like one just fell smack dab into jianghu martial politics. Like OOPS I shouldn't be here.

danny lore update. just me rambling and thinking out loud
hes so very angry at everything. irrationally so. its meant to be a joke just how mad and exaggerated he gets. that being said hes not meant to be cool or likable*
(*he has a cool design and plays guitar/sings/is in a band, and those are some objectively cool traits i suppose.. but hes not meant to be seen as a badass, more like an exhausting person to be around lmao)
and i dont wanna justify his behavior bc im trying to make a character who sucks, but not knowing his backstory makes him confusing to really comprehend why hes like this. ive decided that his parents worked a lot when he was a kid, so he was practically raised by his grandparents. so if anyone, he cares abt them deeply but theyre also a huge reason why he ended up being this way, because theyre very blunt and opinionated people. it rubbed off on him. that being said, his parents arent like this so they dont understand where he learned that from. so this caused some conflict but whatever. he doesnt want his parents' validation anyway.
on a similar note, if he got picked on at school, he would be quick to assume the worse and need to defend himself, leading to getting into a lot of fights. he was later on essentially a bully himself
so whats the takeaway here?? the ppl he cares abt teaching him to speak his mind and not hold back. even if it leads to more conflict, hes very prideful. he sees it as "brutal honesty" when its just rudeness
when interacting w others, he will groan and roll his eyes a lot. definitely lots of sarcasm but just as much blunt yelling. he will roast ppl in the drop of a hat.
is it purely a pride thing? ehh. he DOES think highly of himself and has high standards. he also doesnt hate ppl as a whole, is interested in dating, is extroverted. thats all important to note bc itd be easy to assume otherwise.
another way his heightened emotion stemmed from was him being trans from a young age. the stress and confusion hit him like a truck, making him prone to lash out. once he came to terms w that and started going on hormones, the anger from gender stress turned into anger from increased levels of testosterone ON TOP of him already being a ball of rage. help this man
does he have anything going on besides anger? no
ok yes. as mentioned, he loves music. rock music to be exact, so thats a healthy way for him to let go of his emotions. he also has a dramatic flair, wanting to give everything his all. he doesnt like being boring/bored so if he has so start something in order to be entertained, he will. this would make him a bit of a prankster
what abt when someone treats him the way he treats others? oh he would NOT be able to take it. he will kick and scream until you feel worse. he will bite his hand until he thinks abt how to get back at you
...unless you strike a specific nerve. where instead of purely fighting, you get into a mutual understanding where arguing can be fun in a "healthy competition" kinda way. cant explain it rn bc my brain is mush and ive written too much but thats what he has w topher <3

I read chain of thorns btw, it was fine but I have a lot of a lot of little complaints that just add up lol
- i miss the earlier books that centered around just the heroine and were almost exclusively from her pov. Now the povs feel like they change every two seconds because the main casts are just way too huge and all always needed something to do.
- in a similar vein, i don’t care about side couples and I never have. I end up skipping like 50 or so pages a book because every. single. character. has to be in love and I have to hear about every single trial and tribulation and make out for some reason. I understand romance is a big aspect of these and don’t get me wrong, i LOVE romance, but these books are so bloated with every teenager having to have one on one moments constantly that I feel like the group dynamics take a hit and even big plot moments feel rushed to make more room for side stuff. Your 800 page book should not feel rushed.
-the family tree being not correct has been a mysterious detail since cp2 and the answer being some lady just did it wrong cause she felt like it is so stupid 😭
-James and Cordelia being in a fight based on a miscommunication for half the book just for drama is infuriating. The reason James does not tell Cordelia about Grace barely makes sense and is only there JUST so he won’t tell her and make the drama last longer.
-the reasons for the adults to be out of the picture just so the kids can be main characters are getting so unbelievable. I was actually interested in Tessa’s trial but too bad we didn’t get to see any of it, and then they all just go to Alicante for a quick trip as if the world isn’t literally ending 😭
-similarly, the lengths tlh goes through to make sure that the tid cast does not steal any spotlight really hurts it I think. Obviously I’m biased and I just want to see Tessa but I don’t think that’s a crazy ask? Like the plot revolves around the fact that her father is a powerful demon and how that affects her kids, but we don’t even get to hear from her after a whole mob accuses her of consorting with Belial. In tmi the adults were not the main focus, but they were *there* and they did things outside of giving vague life advice and then being offscreen for 95% of the books. It’s just feels weird, not even in a stan way, but in these kids’ parents are NEVER around way lmao. Will got to be the designated spokesperson for all of the tid characters and everyone else gets to say nothing ever.
- I’m tired of the demon realms. I never wanna go to a demon realm again.
-Christopher was my favorite of the side characters and I don’t feel like that much weight was given to his death to the point where I was actually surprised when he stayed dead lmao.
Wow I sound like such a hater but i promise im not trying to be 😭 i found it fun enough to still read it within a day, like it’s fine. I just don’t feel a lot of love in the books anymore, they’re very copy and paste and follow a very specific formula but I guess thats what happens when you write at such a rapid pace in the same universe for over a decade. Sorry if this is a bit long but I do really like coming here to talk about our latest fiction gripes lol. Ok so I totally agree with you about tdp and now s5. It's definitely something that started back in s4 but I was still trying to be optimistic. The show is as wide as an ocean but about as deep as a puddle recently. Pick a lane on how mature you want the show to be writers? I love kids shows i do (I loved Nimona), and I love adult fantasy animation as well (Vox Machina). And yes no show is without flaws, but guess what, the thing that they both have in common is GOOD emotional writing and choices that don't make the audience feel stupid when watching it. The dragon prince would have been amazing if it started out as a darker more mature adult show like vox machina. But it instead WAS written with the emotional stability and thought provoking messages of being for all ages that Nimona has (seasons 1-3)! I think the time jump kinda screwed with the pacing and the writers thought older characters must mean a little less fart jokes, more horses getting eviscerated (that was something I was THROWN with lol). But writing depth is not that simple obviously, I do like the more mature fight scenes and villains(the sea captain was actually pretty cool and I wish we could've gotten more of him) but just constantly jumping back and forth between the childish schneagains of claudia and her boyfriend and then back to something more dangerous and "scary" is not a good way to try to bring in every audience age group. I'm kinda tired of the 3D art too? Imagine if the characters were animated in 2D just like all of the fantastic 2D backdrops and end credit art. Oh well i guess. I am curious what their "hard hitting" writing will turn into (even though I think you're right in that it alienates the very young audience that made the show successful?). I just wish I could go back to feeling the show gave me back in the first 3 seasons, because I still love the characters themselves.
I forgot to add cause I just thought more about it lmao. The overall Satisfaction is what is missing from tdp in these past two seasons. In seasons 1-3 what was really fun to watch was the character growth, Rayla and the boys learning to trust one another and what got everyone into this situation in the first place. Now its kinda stalled and it sorta feels like its more filler than giving us the meat we so desperately want. Like what happened in the two years Rayla was away? What are aaravos's more grand scale plans? Why do they refuse to touch more on Raylas parents and Runaan in the coins?Etc Etc Etc But nooo give us another season of slow filler and fart jokes just to get to one goal (that they honestly could have done by the middle of the season) and than we're just left with a WELP SEE YOU NEXT YEAR. Ummmm yeah thats about it off the top of my head lol

Awwww I am so so sorry you were disappointed, but yeah your gripes are valid! I have it way easier, I realized I was just charmed by the setting and none of the seasons were for me actually, but I can imagine how it must feel to want more of something you've enjoyed and only keep getting bad versions of it. You're so right that the plotline of arc 2 feels like filler- we cut back to the characters and they are STILL in some random woods STILL talking about the same stuff STILL being boring and then we do it for 18 episodes. This is where I think the show would profit fantastically from "monster of the week" format, where yeah we spend 18 episodes traveling but every episode or two delivers SOME form of a narrative conclusion. It doesn't even have to be literal monsters if they think that's too childish, it could be any kind of short, self contained stories that add up to a larger story, kind of like how a proper cartoon aimed at all ages should be lololol. Your last bit of ask 1 depicts how I feel perfectly - "I wish I could go back in time and feel the way I did during the first few seasons, also I wanna see what is soooo dark and mature that kids can't be exposed to it".

bc @boo-womp asked for my interpretation of the song- and like i know u didnt ask for a word wall but i got too passionate. lmao feel free to skim over. ill put a little tl;dr at the end. mega word jumble not going back to edit
i wont bother to explain all the events of the epilogue because theres just TOO much to cover but. in one way, you could have those lyrics being sung from joonghyuk to dokja with their sheer platonic love and mgfhsdmjfksn
like, the chorus. hits hard. "no light no light in your bright blue eyes i never knew daylight could be so violent".
there is something that joonghyuk says to dokja's 15 yo self, that he was the "most omniscient, yet powerless god", because through all of his childhood trauma his means of cope was escaping reality and absorbing himself so deep into fiction that his imagination made it real. and the 'i never knew daylight could be so violent' but is like, joonghyuk slowly discovers how much existing was harmful to this kid, to the point where he became the oldest dream.
and then like, the next lyrics, 'revalation int he night of day, you cant choose what stays and what fades away.' when dokja has to split his memories into two bodies so one could keep watching over the world, so everyone existing could continue living, eventually his memories start to fade to the point where he regresses back to his traumatised child self. AND. i sob so hard at this. 'and ill do anything to make you stay', from joonghyuk to dokja. this man. this man risks his bloody life so many times after chap 500 to bring his soul back to life. he drifts through space. for THREE YEARS. just so he can deliver a novel to kim dokjas reincarnated self in hopes he remembers his life, and through some wacky disconnected theory, comes back to them. he goes all in on trying to bring him back. hell do ANYTHING TO MAKE HIM STAY ARHUGHG.
and if i also talk about the author of the novel that he read for 13 years straight, han sooyoung, she created this novel despite knowing that it would cause an apocolypse and the end of the world. but she writes away anyway just so he doesnt die young. because that novel kept him alive. and in the process she created yoo joonghyuk, which began his regressions, and the chorus just reminds me of her devotion to keeping him alive for so long.
in a way that chorus is sung by all three of them- the reader (dokja), the protagonist (joonghuyk) and the writer (han sooyoung) because their love for each other all resolves around sacrifice. 'ill do anything to make you stay' SOBBING.
'han sooyoung wrote WOS just so kim dokja could read it.
and because dokja read WOS, joonghyuk began his regression.

its a cycle of sacrifice and this song just AAGHHHHH the emotion of desparation yet hopelessness in that song resides with me so hard. and then when you blast it loudly you just sob because none of them had a choice in this except for the means of sacrifice for each other.

The Family of Destruction- Clean Break
The title is quite literal. I made a fake insta thread about Leon breaking his arm but never truly went into details so. Surprise
Lmao crying my eyes out because I did not mean to post this at all, it's not finished but luckily for me it seems like it's finished so, imma pretend it is.

Leon was a wrestler. He was a good one at that, I mean, his parents are the undertaker and heartbreak kid. Of course he's good. He had a pretty neat streak of his own going aswell. Undefeated. Never lost a single match. So when Leon doesn't turn up on raw not only are fans disappointed but also scared. Scared that vince had threatened this Undefeated streak and Leon walked out.
This was infact, not the case.
Leon, despite being a wrestler, has only ever got injured in the ring once and that was when he was fighting his Uncle Hunter. Which is a long complicated story for another day.
Leon actually broke his arm, a clean break at that, trying to impress his already impressed boyfriend, Drew Mcintyre. It was stupid, Leon knows that, well, he does after his Papa and Father have ago at him about it. But still, Leon just had to give it a shot. I mean, it's not every day a demon from texas is put in snow and ice.
Which, drew should of know meant he couldn't ice skate or slay to save his life. Leon's arm took its first bump on the ice when Leon landed on it awkwardly a few times. It stung and throbbed but Leon just assumed that was normal. And then, stupid lil Lee, decided he needed to impress his boyfriend with his non-existing snowboarding skills which ended with him catching his arm on a tree with a very loud crack that he at the time thought was the tree.
It's not until Leon got too drew and drew checked him, and shortly began freaking out, that Leon realised he had a problem. The problem being his forearm acting as if it was now his elbow.
"Oh...thats bad..." Leon whispers. "Bad?! Leon you've broken your arm!" "Oh god we have to defend the tag belts tomorrow..." "tag belts?! Leon your arm! Is broken!" Drew would yelp before dragging him off to the hosptial.
If you asked Leon, shawn was more upset he couldn't goto get ice cream than he was about Leon's arm being casted up.
"Why would you do something so stupid?" Taker asks. "My baby's broke his first bone.." Shawn whispers. Both men ignore him. "I just wanted to make him laugh..I didn't think much of it.." Leon sighs resting his head against the pillow. "When can we sign him out? My finger hurts" cassie pouts. They had drew attached to the heart monitor but the moment taker entered it went nuts, so they had to switch to cassie. "The doctors did tests after I explained he fell on the ice first. They think he's concussed" drew admits. "Hes a fucking idiot" Taker snaps. Leon frowns. "You told me to try human things. To try being more human. I tried.." Leon whispers. Taker sighs. "I know, but you have to be careful. Your tag champ, you cannot have this" Taker states. "Ah that's where he gets it from" drew mutters. Cassie smirks and nods, already knowing Leon was more concerned about the belts. "Taker! He's broken his arm!" Shawn tuts hitting takers chest. "By being an idiot! I cannot feel sorry for him when he's the one who caused it. And a clean break? You couldn't just fracture or sprain it? You had to snap that shit in half?" Taker asks.
"Sorry, next time I'll try harder to only sprain it" Leon snaps. "There will be no next time! Both of you stop it!" Shawn groans. "At least my arm injury wasn't my own fault" Taker mutters. "Live a little old man. It's fun" Leon whispers.
"So...was it actually bent like an L?" Cassie asks, trying to break the awkward silence. Instead she gets everyone looking at her. "Just wanted to know" she frowns looking down.
Drew would soon discover this arm injury was more burden than good. Leon was driving him and himself insane. Leon did not like being told he couldn't fight. So...drew decided to atleast get them both back at work.

"If you even swing for anyone-" "I know you'll have me off for longer" Leon pouts. "Im serious Lee. The faster it heals the faster we can fight. Vince has only agreed because fans need to see the tag champs still" drew sighs. Leon frowns and looks down at his casted up arm. "Whats the story for the arm?" Sheamus calls running over. "The true story or the one hunter gave him?" Drew asks. "Which one is cooler?" Sheamus asks. "Hunters." Leon sighs. "Seriously?" Sheamus asks wide eyed. "Yep, according to hunter, he got in a bike accident, meaning not only are we not allowed to use his bike to enter but he's not allowed on a bike outside of work either" drew states. "So how stupid was the actual accident?" Sheamus questions. Drew find it adorable the way his cheeks heat up. "Snowboarding. And ice skating. We think the real damage was done when he fell ice skating and hitting his arm against a tree snowboarding just, you know, broke the ice." Drew explains.
Sheamus can't stop himself from laughing. Leon frowns and shoves sheamus with his good arm. "Its not funny! And you cannot tell anyone!" Leon whines. "Oh so telling everyone!" Sheamus yells. "Drew!" Leon protests. "Im surrounded by actual children." Drew whispers.
