Something I love about Leo is that, canonically, he IS capable of cooking, he’s just completely incapable of using a toaster. He’s banned from the kitchen not out of an inability to make edible food, but because being within six feet of a toaster causes the poor appliance to spontaneously combust.

Why are people who look at comic books from a “critical real-world lens” so obsessed with identifying the one person who is “100% right”. That doesn’t even exist in the real world.
Lost Days wasn’t made to protest global issues. It is a comic book exploring fictional character Jason’s mental journey after being resurrected and regaining consciousness against his will and/or power. Now how dare this character, in his own story where he has his own personal objective, not go out of his way to make sure each individual child from the collective hundreds he saved from traffickers and the likes gets adopted into nice homes. Obviously we have to disregard any good he did or that he cares at all because all he did was kill the fucker at the top who was responsible. Winick also never fleshed out all 42 of the trafficked children into nuanced characters with their own thoughts and feelings which was apparently neglectful lol.
In regards to utrh, Idk what this person read but there were more drug dealers Jason didn’t kill than those he did. Not once did he ever say he wanted to eliminate the flow of drugs in the community. He took over the trade. Not to mention he explicitly stated control vs elimination is where his goals differed from Bruce’s pipe dream hence why he’s successful and Bruce is still failing. Obviously if you completely misunderstand the character’s motivations you’ll find issues that don’t exist.
People just don’t want stories to be about what they are about, huh.

because i hadn’t read the manga before and therefore had no idea what to expect, i was a bit wary about tadaima okaeri airing as the first omegaverse anime because just there’s so many possible pitfalls when telling stories in the omegaverse, and especially when telling those stories for an audience that may or may not be well-versed with the mechanisms and tropes of the genre. however that being said, now that i’ve watched the first episode, i am much less wary!! honestly i don’t think they could have done a better job picking and adapting an omegaverse story for a wider audience, i appreciated the attention to politics and world building, i really really like that female alphas were mentioned within the first five minutes and that - while there don’t seem to be any women in the main cast - it wasn’t just only men in the cast of characters. i think they handled the introduction to some of the more shocking parts of omegaverse really well, frankly and with normalcy, and i also don’t think they’ve fallen into the pitfall of treating omegas like stereotypical yaoi ukes which tbh i was really worried about lol
also just, it’s really hecking cute and wholesome i was cooing every time hikari was on screen he’s just adorable and the parents (i'm sorry i've forgotten their names) are also just so in love and soooo wholesome <3
i mean, just look at them!!!
Tumblr media
adorable…
i did not expect to like it as much as i did, but i will almost certainly be keeping up with this show!

A sizeable chunk of the fanbase (especially those who read the webtoon) seeing Collei in 3.0: aw thank goodness she’s doing well and even has two dads who are in love :)
Hoyoverse half a year later, writing Cyno and Tighnari into an event that in-game half of Mondstadt considers a lovers’ festival: shit shit shit shit shit we have to no-homo this

gimme that recipe bro, I need some veggies
sure! i actually just wrote it down (i dont really have quantities cus i measure that shit with my heart, but ill go over what i did!)
ingredients were just veggies i like that i know roast well. what i used was:
zucchini tomato parsnip turnip potato carrot red bell pepper onion garlic and the spices/seasonings: balsamic vinegar oil (we just use vegetable oil but something nice like olive oil would be great) thyme salt n pepper sunflower seeds (we used roasted salted ones cus its what we had, but theyre getting cooked anyways so im sure raw ones are fine. the double roastedness of them was tasty tho) cilantro (as a garnish, dont really need it if u dont wanna) and here are the steps:
preheat the oven to 400F halve and scrape out the zucchini to make lil bowls (keep the insides for the filling) put em in a pan or something cus theyre gonna be drippy and smushy drizzle the zucchini bowls with the olive oil n vinegar. thinly slice all the veggies ratatouille style and toss em in a bowl with the vinegar, oil, crushed garlic, thyme, salt, pepper, and sunflower seeds. fill up the zucchini bowls with all that and sprinkle a little more salt and sunflower seeds on top. cover with foil and bake for 30min or so, then uncover and let it get a little crispy (5-10 more mins) and tada! all done!
i don't have exact measurements, but when we made it i felt like it could have used more balsamic vinegar than we put in, which was sorta just a drizzle to coat it all when i tossed it, so maybe keep that in mind! a lot of ratatouille recipes want you to simmer the tomatoes and onions down first, so that might be a good thing to try to give it a little more juice or cohesiveness. and definitely use plenty of seeds if you enjoy those. they bestowed an excellent nuttiness to it and i was very happy with the flavors!! parsnips are lovely and aromatic and i adore them.
another thing we didn't have on hand which woulda been super tasty is a little grated cheese on top to get all nice and crispy. maybe a gouda or something would be nice!
we're gonna use the leftovers to make a big soup tomorrow with some homemade stock that we had frozen!

i wish kaigaku wasn't evil i would've loved to see him as the thunder hashira potentially
i think kaigaku should get to continue to commit atrocities because its funny <33
genuinely tho god this is such a Concept because like. yes yes the nuances of good vs evil and potential vs execution but honestly i just. dont think thats something thats fully in the cards for him. because like... his selfishness is such a huge part of Him as a character that getting rid of it just feels like itd make him.. an Entirely Different Character. its a Core Character Trait.
like!!! yeah!!!! i would really love to see him actually get along (or interact at all) with other characters!!! but for him specifically, the fact that hes so genuinely selfish is what makes him so interesting. its less of what he does, and more of how does he get there. personally, of course.
and then, especially with the whole pillar thing, i genuinely do not think that would make him any happier. i dont know what would. i dont even know if he does either.
this is getting away from me but tl;dr: seeing him in a non-(solely)-antagonistic role would be really fun but because of how his character is at a core point, it would have to be something intensely worked towards to make it feel satisfying and not disregard the things that are Very Much Wrong With Him

Very funny to me always when people say, "I'll bet you'd like this character if they were a woman," because no. I wouldn't. If a character is poorly-written, that poor writing stays regardless of the gender of the character involved. If a character does one of the Few Specific Things That Always Annoys Me, I will continue to be annoyed. I hate this character because they suck, not because he's a man.

“‘Does it bother you?’ she asked me. I did not ask her what she meant. ‘Strange to say, no. You are you. Fool, Lord Golden, Amber, and Beloved. You are you, and we know each other as well as any two people can. ‘Beloved,’ she said, and smiled sadly. I did not know if she repeated my word, or if the Fool called me by his own name. She dropped her hands to the top of the table, gloved atop the bared one. ‘There was a time,’ she began, where you would have hated this masquerade.’ ‘There was,’ I agreed. ‘And this is a different time.’”
God while Fitz had remained stubbornly unchanged in some ways in others he has really grown. This is a much wiser and more mature version of him than Tawny Man or Farseer

I love writers I love when they ramble on abt characters and their motivations, their core values and the reasons why they react to things in certain ways and having character interactions work off of each other due to their differing ways of viewing the world and in general I just love character analysis
#as someone who loves humans and human behaviours and figuring out why people react to things the ways that they do#uhhh I'm actually surprisingly really bad @ writing characters with those same traits 😅#unless it is smth I can connect to on some sort of level like a few of my characters have issues that I specifically relate to#thereforee I can understand the ways they act in certain circumstances#BUT when it comes to characters that are like almost entirely outside of my wavelength it's pretty hard for me to understand how they work#and it's pretty basic habits and behaviours I just fuckin lack them in general#like the concept of clinginess or abandoment issues or wanting to stay around people who treat you badly or jealousy or missing people#also love like I understand my type of love but my type of love isn't typical from what I've seen from others#even some of my own past issues like dealing with trauma have kinda been lost on me especially bcuz I'm the type to ignore stuff#like I just ignored it til it came back to bite me in the ass and had to just kinda struggle with it and go completely numb#until I got tired of feeling that way and pulled myself outta it step by step and my various negative ways of thinking elude me#since I just gradually built myself up and rearranged my brain so that all negative thinking eventually turns into dust#whether be positive or purely neutral until I'm able to handle it better#REGARDLESS I try to get a sense of what these other traits are like and how exactly they work for people but it is VERY difficult for me#bcuz the stuff is just such an alien emotion to me like people get REALLY emotional about things that simply aren't a problem for me#and I wish I could understand why and what goes on in the brain that causes that but my brain just doesn't work that way#SOOO me trying to make characters of typical issues I see people having DOESN'T really work when I have no idea what's going on#like IN GENERAL my characters need to have more emotion behind them but the emotions I need them to have are#like I said before. something I totally lack ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ so I have no idea how to do it#I mean I think I need like a check list I need to make a list of traits my characters have in general cuz I never write anything down#it'd be easier to figure it out if I had words to go along with it and then I could figure out the behaviours behind those words#plus I need to draw my characters cuz I'm very much a visual person I can't get as good of a feel without some visuals along with it

I wouldn’t have been mad if this was the first or second episode of the season tbh
#Alex rambles#the mandalorian s3#I mean the writing was very stupid in parts but in a way that was very on par with the previous seasons#something you can forgive because you can at least feel what they were going for and taking things lightly and awkwardly charming#if you’re willing to offer the show some good will#and if it doesn’t want to delve into anything too serious like. I dunno. intergalactic politics#minor spoilers for the following two thoughts I guess#din setting his kid down to have a training paintball fight with Paz’s kid was silly and great and very Mando typical I assume XD#I also assume that it is a mandalorian right of passage to be swallowed by some huge beast#would have been very cool if Bo-Katan had some flashbacks too in the forge#I love the idea that the forging of beskar has some inherent magic to it#since both din and grogu had their traumatic little flashbacks then#would love to learn more about what exactly IS the Creed and the Way#because so far it is anything one labels it as such#is some Mando philosophy so much to ask in a show that is supposedly also about the different branches and beliefs of what makes a Mando?#I’m starting to feel that ‘I love [insert name of the titular character here]. would love to see him in his own damn show more’#is a sentiment that might apply here as well… may I be wrong though#kinda like din just being there in the background. that seems very in-character for him. but you know…#a bit more of him and his pov would be nice

hate that AI has tainted certain artstyles
i can't imagine being an artist that's poured hours into developing a style only for it to be dumped into some database and used to create a cheap mockery of that original work
then to have people think that the work you've put time and effort into creating was generated in a matter of minutes

My lukewarm take is that while A:tlA did most of what it set out to do impeccably, "what it set out to do" was never really that good or groundbreaking
