I see a lot of people headcanoning that Marcille and Kabru will become friends postcanon over a shared love of gossip, but to me the biggest thing they have in common is that they're both deeply concerned with the inequality between the races.

I think before anything else, as the two people closest to the throne, they'll probably end up banding together over their shared desire to fix the divide between the races. Marcille has to give up on her dream of magically changing humanity, but she can help Laios achieve it Kabru's way, through political and social change.

#Dungeon Meshi spoilers #there's a lot of ambiguity over magic going forward and what the demons did to the different races....#but I think it's overall a very “you can't always have the exact thing you want” ending #so I don't see the lifespans reversing as a possible outcome. for better or worse we find a way forward regardless.#you can't magic your way out of everything ... but you CAN get three meals a day and proper exercise!#anyway even if Laios didn't really think of it in those terms he did want to create a place for everyone to live in harmony #and I like the hints that he achieves that with the kids of different races shown in the epilogue #I think that would be something Kabru and Marcille focus on a lot #musings with Dea #I just love thinking about the Golden Country trio you guys

“jason doesn’t know what he wants” no, he does know what he wants. he wants the joker dead and he wanted bruce to be the one to kill him. but bruce won’t kill him, will never kill him, and now jason has to figure out how to reach the same end goal when to him, there’s only ever been and still only is one clear path to it.

its not that jason can’t figure out what he wants, he can’t get what he wants. he has to think about what to do now, how does he grapple with this situation now. how does he let himself fall back into his father’s arms when the only thing that will make him feel safe and comfortable enough to do so is off limits?

honestly, though. sometimes when the drakes are discussed it does seem a little "oh, they never would never do <insert terrible fanon trait here>, they just <insert a different trait they....also never really did and is actually kind of contradicted by canon? here>"

#honestly i'm usually fairly forgiving about the second because i'm sure i'm guilty of it too lmao #and it's also like. that's usually more of personal intepretation/reading thing which should have different viewpoints #variety is the spice of life and all #& i like defending the drakes AND talking about how they failed #but sometimes the thing that is confidently stated they do instead is something canon directly contradicts.#they never would force feed him something he's allergic to #they would just have super strict expectations of his behavior & not be affectionate #meanwhile the expectations are limited to don't wear a t-shirt to a wedding rehearsal and jack is shown hugging tim like every 5 issues #(and janet is dead and can have no expectations but the only time we see her she's like “you can be whatever you want to be sweetie :)”)#and they are shown having a very iconic outing with him and they treat him nice & want him to have a good time & are very loving #i too want to swing the pendulum the other way but that second one does apply to both good and bad traits lmao #“jack was just trying to get close to his son” well. no he really wasn't.#or “jack never cared about his son & never tried to listen to him” well that's not exactly true either #god i love them. my polarizing flawed family.

thinking about how the one time eliot masterminds something, it's because the circumstances are dire and we don't actually see it happen; how he says he plays chess and nate believes him but we don't ever see it or hear about it again; how we don't even see his most basic fighting skills until they're needed and he has to drop the cerebral and nonthreatening grift he was using in front of the team. and I don't know what to think except that in some ways he's just as secretive as parker is, we just don't see it because on top of that he's this very believable gruff-but-sorta-amiable person who meets up with his vet buddies and goes on dates and cooks for his team.

#not heading anywhere particular with this just.#with parker we see the warehouse and the multiple addresses and it's all shown to us in a way to draw attention to her caution #and how much she trusts the team regardless by letting sophie figure out the combination #and we have to assume that eliot has safehouses too but the show never even flirts with the idea of showing us.#he's secretive in a way the story allows and glosses over.#the difference between him and parker is that he pretends hard to be normal and she either can't or doesn't.#once again reminded of the ship dynamic 'there is something wrong with you that is also wrong with me.'#like. I sort of love that we don't see eliot's discussion of the kidnapping. what he figured out and how they'll handle it etc.#because just like in the pilot it's including the viewers in his grift #and this time it's the grift he resorts to most around people who know his job #the one that says he's violent and simple and not especially bright. the one that leads people to underestimate him.#power negativity applied in the best way for a hitter's career.#it's a grift we see multiple times and we're only barely shown the edges of it.#I would still kind of love to see more. because once again #it is fascinating to me that you can watch the entire damn show and still believe the grift of it.#eliot #leverage #hi I've been ignoring tumblr to get writing done and I keep having thoughts. it's terrible.

#tragically had to skip the 'are you afraid of me' exchange i love at the start bc. this scene is Long #super dark times #josh templeton #zach taylor #sam edits #btw i'm firmly in the 'Josh didn't kill John' camp. bc to me THIS scene is the point that... makes the most sense as Josh's breaking point/#'villain turn' if that's what you'd want to call it. because this is really when Josh... sort of 'officially' loses Zach. from early on in #the movie it becomes clear how much Zach is like... an anchor for him—the way Josh is just fucking *chanting* his name in distress during #the Daryl accident. The way Josh begs Zach to believe him that it was an accident. The way Josh turns to Zach for answers/clarity/direction #Like even if we want to take a cynical approach and think of it as Josh just latching onto Zach in the Daryl situation because he was There #rather than that being an established thing w/ them... in the aftermath of that same incident Josh is still looking to/depending on him!#Josh self isolates at first... but after they talk & Zach tells him they shouldn't act weird Josh goes back to school. (yes #he lashes out there because He's Dealing With The Crushing Guilt but *all* of 'em are acting off then—Charlie specifically calls attention #to the idea they all probably are) Josh goes to the party just like Zach said they should and is *visibly confused* when Zach seems mad to #see him there. He goes to Zach's house to talk and you can SEE how caught off guard he is by what Zach says. Even though the script version #of this scene is VERY different from the final version I do think this one bit of description from it is... insightful: 'Josh seems sincere #almost vulnerable. But Zach is too focused to see it.' LIKE in this scene Zach is already convinced Josh has lost it! He's trying to act #more neutral about it (claiming they could just 'draw a line') but we saw his phone call with Charlie. Because of his own guilt-fueled #paranoia—something shown pretty clearly through the assorted dream sequences and like tht scene of him walking in the hall hearing people #gossip about Daryl—it seems like everything lines up too well! that '*of course* it's Josh and what if it's *been* Josh all along and well #then the role *I* played in the situation really isn't *my* fault because it was all *Josh* and...' etc. even if that's more subconscious #But like... this scene is really when it hits Josh! from the moment he asks if Zach's afraid of him now like... there's a shift. although #Zach says he isn't... i mean he fucking stumbles on the word 'afraid' (like... he hangs on the 'f' sound a moment too long to sound natural #its very subtle but like Noticeable). But Josh sees right through him. Zach doesn't trust him anymore. Zach thinks he's the bad guy. the #monster. Josh feeling like he lost the last person he had in his corner feels like the most realistic thing to... push him over the #edge. like that's a compelling tragedy to me—the idea that these two poorly coping with the Daryl situation in these separated ways where #they *aren't* talking/communicating ends up CREATING the feedback loop that makes everything get worse and worse.#But for that to be the case... it wouldn't make sense for Josh to have just randomly killed John before this scene. I think it's a more #interesting story if certain things really ARE just coincidences but it's that Zach's paranoia won't let him see that 🤷

I have damn near 100% confidence that mike gets vecna'd. there is no version of s5 that I can imagine where mike doesn't get vecna'd. he will be shown horrendous visions and he will scream and cry and veccy boy will get his homophobic dog moment and mike is gonna be shaken up and refusing to tell anyone what he saw and it will be the most important, impactful, and jaw dropping vecna scene of the season, and I will be pulling up the cristiano ronaldo gif

I'm a firm believer that more people will get vecna'd next season #like yeah sure he doesn't NEED to torment and kill more people but he'll do it for fun #no way the duffers introduced a villain who can see people's inner fears and guilts and then they use it twice and never again right?#so obvs people will get vecna'd next season. and mike is a PRIME target #a. vecna's main targets are el and will. both of whom love mike and are really close with him #two birds one stone‚ if vecna wants to consider himself a good villain‚ that right there is reason enough to get Mike #b. while again‚ I do think multiple characters will get vecna'd and therefore we'll see a lot of different headspaces #we mostly already know what a lot of the characters fear and feel guilty about. whereas mike is still supposed to be a mystery to us #we're not being shown his pov‚ so when we finally ARE‚ it will have the most impact of any possible vecna vision any of the characters get #''why do you say it'd be most impactful rori?''#bc listen. they're gonna want another impactful vecna scene. a running up that hill part two. but you can't beat max's scene. it's too good #the impact in max's scene comes from her escape‚ from her choosing to live‚ for her loved ones #which means if you want another emotionally impactful vecna scene‚ it can't be about the escape‚ that can't be where the impact is #or it will just feel like a cheaper rendition of max's scene #so the impact MUST come from finding out what haunts the character #and I FULLY believe there will be nothing quite as jaw dropping as vecna visions revealing mike's sexuality and how he feels about it #the only things that would probably come close would be el or will getting shown more aspects of the supernatural plot #but I'm pretty sure we're at a point in the story where we have most of the information #and we won't be getting anything super insane on that front

#Enbetweeen arts #digital art #drawing #digital painting #blah blah something about the queer allegory of the fallen angel blah blah #no but really as someone who grew up in christianity I could talk about the way me and other queer people #in that exact situation after we have deconstructed and left the faith #humanness is so beautiful. it is so real and tangible and I love the way that seeing other people’s #humanity and genuineness through their own lived experiences regardless and even in spite of (sometimes) their religious backgrounds #is wonderful and something to be cherished #also as someone who has quote on quote fallen out of the Christian faith and found a restored faith in humanity because humanness is holy #and humanness is something I can relate to that is outside of the idea of worshipping perfection #instead I can choose to glorify the strength that we have in overcoming struggles and loving each other in spite of our flaws and #differences. and I can embrace the real unconditional love that has been shown to me through the relationships I’ve made #I could talk about this for like 10 years lol but I digress

So I had a fantastic date tonight.

#it was a gym date and the first time we were meeting each other so i was nervous about it but it turned out to be really really nice #he's new to the poly stuff and the way that he spoke about it told of an emotional and intellectual intelligence that was so fuckin hot #he's really cute and we have a kind of shocking amounts of crazy passions that are exactly the same #he can quote scott pilgrim as much as me #he has dice tattoos #he got really excited when i gave him the origami ball i made while bored in a meeting today and wouldn't stop fidgeting with it #we got dinner afterwards and talked a lot about a lot of different things about each other and it was just really nice #and he told me i have the prettiest brown eyes 🥺#he also said that he showed his husband my pictures and he was like 'damn he looks like he has a strong stomach.not abs but like a strongmn #and i got SO EXCITED #i pointed out my gym crushes to him because i wanted to test the jealousy waters and he reacted very well #he answered my questions with a level of thoughtfulness and contemplation that i felt deeply attracted to #i just think I'm going to fall for him really hard and I'm very very excited about it #my love life has been... lackluster recently for a lot of different reasons #and I'm so fucking excited to have someone that i can be excited about who is just as excited about me #I've been craving that for so long #I'm just thrilled and looking forward to the next date #we're going to be talking a lot #I'm gonna be a little sad for a second. the person who i thought was my stream of consciousness has shown me that he doesn't really care #and that's been hard for me to come to terms with. we haven't even had a conversation about it #but he's been the only person that I can tell things to when i get excited about something #and i don't feel like i have that. so I'm writing in a Tumblr post about this because I don't feel like i have anyone #to get excited with me about things #hopefully that will change soon. matilda and mob psycho 100 are the only works of art ever about gifted children. i'm not interested about the rest.

#i love how their powers do carry the narrative but in a way that is so them #to pursue the things that are right to them #i also love how the adults in there are portrayed for different reasons #matilda is like yeah kids it is right to hate your parents. a power fantasy for me honestly #and mp100 has reigen fucking arataka. who is also shown to be in the wrong but has genuine love for this kid AND shows it #their messages are also opposite but not exactly?#matilda calls for rebellion against unfair adults from a kid standpoint. something i feel gifted kids perceive even more deeply #but it ends with her making a genuine connection with someone who sees her and gets her the accomodations she needs #making her quote unquote normal #and mob psycho 100 is explicitly about a gifted neurodivergent kid who got really lucky #his family supports his weirdness and never pushed the special one title on him #reigen also does this and also teaches him to see it as just one thing he happens to be good at #and yet he hides it bc he's aware it's not just superpowers what he has #in the same way gifted kids aren't only just smart a lot of the time. it's also a difference in perception of reality #and his character arc is insanely compassionate bc of this luck he had #and also filling in the aspects of himself that were hard for him to explore and grow in bc of what makes him different #this wholesomeness can only happen bc the ppl surrounding him are mostly kind #matilda's revenge is the only way she can fight to protect herself due to the environment she's in #they are both very close to me <3

Okay i’m gonna admit it. amphibia seems more like an outline than a story sometimes

#I know it’s a kids show but… sighs okay sorry for comparing it to the owl house BUT #I keep thinking about all these things in the show that just. Went unanswered or unaddressed #Sasha and Marcy’s parents. Their trauma. Whatever the heck happened in the finale #and like. Obviously some questions get answered in interviews and such but still!!!#I keep thinking about the owl house and how it illustrates Liz’s trauma #*luz.#like she has flashbacks. Her decisions are based on the way she’s perceived things in the past #and it offers a lot of emotional depth!!! You get to see why she does things!! What’s going through her head!!#meanwhile MARCY DIES IN FRONT OF ANNE and ppl have to fight tooth and nail to explain how she’s grieving when.#it’s not shown. She doesn’t mention her. We don’t get to see inside her head or the consequences of her and Sasha being missing #I love this show with all my heart it just. Explains why the fan content for it and toh can be so different #because with toh it’s like “what if something different happened??” And it’s all AU’s #while Amphibia is just. “What if this emotional piece of the show that was never addressed actually was addressed?”#Amphibia it’s the groundwork for a heart tugging story but it doesn’t follow through.#Amphibia spoilers

I found this Twitter thread discussing Reimu and Autistic traits quite interesting. As someone both with Autism and in the process of getting my master's degree in clinical psych, I both found it relatable and think the OP made a lot of good points in their analysis (though I will note that you can't really diagnosis a fictional character but it's all for fun). So I thought I'd share it.

#beyond the border ~ ooc #They mention later that some folks on Reddit accused them of cherry picking information but in my opinion with how Reimu has been depicted #Across over a dozen games and a dozen manga where ZUN ... tends to be (intentionally according to interviews) inconsistent with how he #Depicts Reimu you kind of have to look at specific instances if you want to assign Reimu much of any character at all #And really the stuff they highlight (such as Reimu seeming to have AP issues) are WAY more consistent than most other traits for Reimu #As someone with Autism I picked up on a lot of those littler traits as I iconned the different mangas but since that's been over a drawn #Out time it never really clicked all together until I saw it laid out in this thread #I'd notice things and be like 'wow that really feels like an Autistic life experience to me' but then just kinda move on but seeing it all #I would say it definitely fits (of course my interpretation of Reimu always has been Autistic but most of my muses kinda are because I am)#Honestly what I found most interesting was them pointing out Reimu's insistence on keeping her upper arms/shoulders uncovered in every #Outfit which is a feeling I can deeply relate to #I highly favor shorts even in inappropriate weather because I strongly dislike stuff touching my lower legs #Also the point about how much Reimu loves reading is something I had not caught before but it's honestly quite interesting #Though it makes me think. With how much interest she's shown in detective mysteries in FS and WaHH I'm shocked they didn't have her be more #Involved in the opening mystery of FDS. You'd think she would have been all over there. She and Satori could have even slightly bonded over #Having detective interests (and the fact that Satori is IMO probably the strongest Autistic coded character in the series)#Though honestly when you consider the idea that Reimu could be Autistic it makes sense why she seemingly uncharacteristically cries so much #At the thought of her shrine being threatened. Being very defensive of special places and getting more upset than would be warranted over #One being threatened is a very common trait and I find that quite interesting to think about

Elizabeth Woodville and her daughters being harassed by “repeated intercessions and dire threats” to leave sanctuary and submit to Richard III should be talked about a lot more than it is, tbh.

#elizabeth woodville #like they were in sanctuary for almost a year so this would've happened for AT LEAST a few months during that time #the entire neighborhood being fortified and under armed guard to keep them from escaping should also be talked about a lot more than it is.#especially because there WAS a plot to spirit some of her daughters overseas but fortification prevented that possibility #the way armed soldiers were present during the time she was compelled to give up her 9-year old youngest son should also be talked about #Also her list of requirements to Richard before exiting sanctuary - that her daughters wouldn't be hurt/ravished and no one would #be imprisoned - such a damning indication of what she thought during that time #and the fact that the council was deeply unhappy by Richard's disregard and disrespect shown to Elizabeth's 'dignity and safety'#is also so striking - especially because this was BEFORE he crowned himself king. Can you imagine what they thought after?#idk I just feel like historians and people talk about their tenure in sanctuary so casually when it must have been terrible for them #especially because we know Elizabeth was literally penniless and dependent on sanctuary's charity #and the fact that her entire family (sans her sisters) was either murdered imprisoned or exiled #AND the fact that they had no foreign protection so it's not like they could depend on any powerful connections to help them #like the defeated Lancastrians were helped in the 1460s (obviously Louis XI's support was dependent on his own aims but that doesn't really #matter - at the end of the day they could set up a court in exile with a pension thanks to Margaret's father. Elizabeth and her children's #vulnerability and lack of options were startlingly acute in comparison. It's not a situation any former queen would have ever been in.)#again: people love to discuss Elizabeth's status and nationality in theory #very little attention is paid to how it affected her in practical terms - and this is a striking example of that #even from a broader perspective - we don't know if Richard would have even attempted what he did had Elizabeth birth status (and thus #active foreign connections) been different #*Elizabeth's
