#Outfit which is a feeling I can deeply relate to

I found this Twitter thread discussing Reimu and Autistic traits quite interesting. As someone both with Autism and in the process of getting my master's degree in clinical psych, I both found it relatable and think the OP made a lot of good points in their analysis (though I will note that you can't really diagnosis a fictional character but it's all for fun). So I thought I'd share it.
#beyond the border ~ ooc#They mention later that some folks on Reddit accused them of cherry picking information but in my opinion with how Reimu has been depicted#Across over a dozen games and a dozen manga where ZUN ... tends to be (intentionally according to interviews) inconsistent with how he#Depicts Reimu you kind of have to look at specific instances if you want to assign Reimu much of any character at all#And really the stuff they highlight (such as Reimu seeming to have AP issues) are WAY more consistent than most other traits for Reimu#As someone with Autism I picked up on a lot of those littler traits as I iconned the different mangas but since that's been over a drawn#Out time it never really clicked all together until I saw it laid out in this thread#I'd notice things and be like 'wow that really feels like an Autistic life experience to me' but then just kinda move on but seeing it all#I would say it definitely fits (of course my interpretation of Reimu always has been Autistic but most of my muses kinda are because I am)#Honestly what I found most interesting was them pointing out Reimu's insistence on keeping her upper arms/shoulders uncovered in every#Outfit which is a feeling I can deeply relate to#I highly favor shorts even in inappropriate weather because I strongly dislike stuff touching my lower legs#Also the point about how much Reimu loves reading is something I had not caught before but it's honestly quite interesting#Though it makes me think. With how much interest she's shown in detective mysteries in FS and WaHH I'm shocked they didn't have her be more#Involved in the opening mystery of FDS. You'd think she would have been all over there. She and Satori could have even slightly bonded over#Having detective interests (and the fact that Satori is IMO probably the strongest Autistic coded character in the series)#Though honestly when you consider the idea that Reimu could be Autistic it makes sense why she seemingly uncharacteristically cries so much#At the thought of her shrine being threatened. Being very defensive of special places and getting more upset than would be warranted over#One being threatened is a very common trait and I find that quite interesting to think about

I just finished Farscape S1 again and I think I'm gonna cry. First I was gonna say that they just don't make shows like this anymore, but then I remembered that they never made shows like this in the before either, except for that time when they made Farscape.
It's so weird in such a powerful way. The design choices alone will never leave me alone ever. I'm obsessed, I can't stop staring. Everything is batshit and John Crichton the human, whom we initially expect to chiefly relate to, responds to the batshitness by going increasingly batshit himself, which allows us to view him from the perspective of the alien characters. Suddenly, we see the human as just as alien as everyone else, and this happens again and again, and it's so well done. At the same time, he only becomes more endearing. Aren't we all lost in the chaos? When he chooses gentleness and kindness again and again, I'm overjoyed.
Aeryn is. Aeryn is everything. I love her so much. She's everything, I don't have the words.
And gods, D'Argo has so much soul. Nothing but your standard warrior stereotype on the surface, but underneath, he has such a complex and vulnerable heart. And he's so young. So, so young.
I love Zhaan as a Pa'u and my heart fucking aches for her. I so wish she could have remained happy. I get so angry with the show for taking that from her, but somehow it only seems to increase my obsession with it.
Chiana, who only knows how to engage with the world as an object of desire. It's the oldest story in the book, and yet no one ever seems to tell it from the girl's perspective. Farscape does. Farscape lets her be a real person.
And Farscape does all of this so subtly. You can miss all of this and still enjoy the show, but it's there, and it's incredible.
I haven't mentioned Pilot or Crais yet, but gods, I love Pilot so much, and I'm so weak for the kind of plot twist the end of S1 has in store for Crais. I also haven't mentioned Rygel. The truth is that he annoys me deeply, but I'm also acutely aware that he's essential to this story that I'm so obsessed with. He's one of the many, many mosquito bites of this show, and I just can't stop itching, and it's frustrating as hell, but it feels damn good.
Last but not least, Scorpius. Scorpy Scorps, my man, my sexy, soft-spoken, disgusting blorbo. Oh you tortured torturer in your shiny black fever dream of a fetish outfit. What a backstory you have. I'm gonna stop writing this post now and start watching S2.

Ugh! I love how so unapologetically punk this film. Obviously, there's Hobie with his battle jacket and electric guitar, and his whole Vibe™ immediately comes to mind, but the subgroups of punk are so deeply entrenched throughout the entire movie.
Like Hobie's style, in particular, reminds me so much of how British punk fashion is accumulating old, worn, even ugly pieces of clothing and turning it into something cool. It's thrift stores. It's hand-me-downs. It's customisations. It's momentos from friends. Maybe even piercings done by friends. It's about taking things from different places and making them your own - which is exactly how Hobie ends up making the dimension travel watch. Another thing is Hobie's blue laces, which I've been told is punk-code for having killed a police officer. We as audience members can go back and forth on whether ATSV is a copaganda film or has its themes, but I believe that tiny detail about Hobie is huge for a film distributed from a country that often values authoritative institutions more than it citizens.
Tumblr media
Gwen is implicitly trans and shaves half her head, which is, from my understanding, HUGE for trans women who experience gender dysphoria. A lot of Gwen's fashion and prom dress especially reminds me of Hayley Williams in the late 2000s-early 2010s. It's very experimental, which I feel matches her age and uncertainty about being Spiderwoman, her dad, and Peter's death.
Tumblr media
There's also a lot of concept art for Gwen's hair where her side-cut becomes an undercut and she wears it in a pony tail or bun and I just think they're so cool - D especially.
Tumblr media
Miles G Morales' design is so heavily inspired by alternative goth fashion and techwear - a mix of combat attire and hip-hop streetwear. It's loose yet slick with it's own customisations in the crown-cut collar and the spray-paint insignia, and incorporates high-advanced technology in the mask.
Tumblr media
It's futuristic. A what-could-be. And specifically what Miles could've been if he wasn't bit by the spider. Another cool thing, I don't know if this is related but worth pointing out, is that Prowler wears a modified (leather, bomber, varsity??) jacket. That's kinda crazy for an superhero/anti-hero suit if you think about it. Most of the time you'll see Marvel or DC characters running around in a spandex suit or (for women) almost nothing at all. But like Hobie we see how Miles G styles himself even when he's disguised. Like I wouldn't be surprised if his outfit change was just turning the jacket inside out like a sukajan jacket.
ATSV has so many characters with the own specific styles and it's really nice to see where most franchises are all or nothing when it comes to character design aesthetics.

Have A Little Faith - Dean Winchester P6
Title: Have A Little Faith - Dean Winchester Part 6
Words: 1,590
Relations: Dean Winchester X Reader
TW: SPOILERS S1E12
Part 5
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I made it to the motel and smiled knowing I'd be seeing Dean again. I held my apple in my mouth as I grabbed my bag from the car, I winced from the pain but cracked my neck and continued.
I took a bite of my apple. I walked over to the motel door and knocked politely. The door opened, showing Sam who smiled at me. I followed him inside, Dean was watching TV and hadn't looked over. I walked to mine and Dean's bed and put my bag down. I hurried to the couch and leaned over the back, kissing Dean's cheek. He got a bit of a shock so I assumed he hadn't noticed me coming in.
"Hey, cutie," He greeted turning to smile at me. His eyes lit up once he saw me. "Hey, you're wearing makeup," He added making me giggle. "Well, let's see the outfit then," He insisted making me laugh. I finally feel normal for once! I stood up straight and playfully started posing and even took a bite of my apple as a pose. Dean whistled at me making me blush. He looked over his shoulder to look at Sam in the kitchen before gesturing for me to come closer. I confusingly went close so he could whisper in my ear, his hot breath fanned my neck teasingly. "You look so hot, Y/N," He whispered making me blush. I couldn't believe he called me hot!!!
The way he said my name, Oh my God, I could sit here forever and listen to him whisper my name into my ear. My heart was pounding like crazy! I giggled and turned away knowing he was looking at my butt. I walked over to my bag and grabbed the card. I walked into the kitchen and handed Sam the card. He looked at me confused but I just smiled in response. I threw the last of my apple in the trash and grabbed a glass which I filled with water. I walked over to the couch, Dean was just bringing a beer to his lips but I quickly took it off of him. Instead, I handed him the water before turning the TV off so I could have his full attention.
"You've got to be kidding me," Dean groaned but I smugly sat down facing him on the couch with my legs crossed and took a sip of his beer. He glared at me but I just winked. He sighed and took a sip of water. He gestured for his beer back but I just took another drink. He chuckled lightly.
"No beer for you, it's bad," I informed making him roll his eyes. I leaned forward and kissed his cheek lightly. He grinned brightly at me.
"Oh, I told Sam about the dating thing," He whispered. I smiled at him.
"Okay," I shrugged kissing his cheek again. He continued grinning widely.
"You're dying to kiss me, I can tell." He whispered making me giggle. I just shrugged making him laugh. Sam walked over with a smile
"Thanks for the card, Y/N. We're happy to have you," Sam chuckled making me smile, Dean just looked confused. "I think we'll wait until tomorrow to leave so I'll bring back some food if you want anything?" He asked brightly.
"Cheeseburger," Dean excitedly exclaimed. I considered it. Greasy food could affect his heart but I suppose he deserves a treat.
"I'll have the same, thanks," I added making Dean smile.
"That's my girl," Dean commented making Sam and I laugh. Sam said some goodbyes before heading to the door, I threw him the car keys which he caught with ease. I was now alone with Dean… I bit my lip at an idea and stopped myself from overthinking it by just doing it. I swung my leg over Dean's so I was straddling him making him grin. His hands rested on my butt while mine was on his shoulders. "I like the jacket," He commented grabbing the jacket and opening it slowly pulling it down and off my body looking deeply into my eyes. He smirked once it hit the floor. I bit my lip which his eyes instantly caught. "I like the shirt," He added mischievously before grabbing the fabric suggestively. I giggled but shook my head, he smiled and put his hands on my butt again squeezing slightly. "Worth a try," He chuckled.
"Right, we need rules," I informed and Dean nodded to show he was listening. "No PDA in front of Sam, you tell me the second you're in too much pain, no telling me off for my clothes and no judging," I demanded and Dean nodded, agreeing to my terms.
"Then I have some rules too: You have to wear my shirt to bed every night, you have to change in front of me, no stopping me from drinking beer and we have to share a shower at least once, oh and I want to start cuddling in bed. I've never cuddled before and I want to try it," I couldn't help but giggle at his rules and cuteness.
"Deal!" I nodded with a smile. Dean smirked back at me.
"You are perfect," He sighed looking deeply into my eyes.
"Don't forget the rule about being in too much pain," I added making Dean look at me confused but he instantly understood once I connected our lips. The kiss was soft, gentle, and caring but also meaningful. Dean squeezed my butt tighter bringing me closer to him, deepening the kiss. It turned into making out. Our hands slightly roamed each other's bodies and Dean had me extremely turned on. I internally groaned. I slowly pulled away and smiled at him. He smiled brightly back at me.
"You just cured me," He joked making me laugh. "Seriously, I think this heart attack was the best thing to ever happen to me, I wouldn't have you otherwise." He thoughtfully explained playing with the ends of my hair which was still tied back in a ponytail. I sweetly kiss him again before pulling away. Dean is smiling like crazy. "If Sam can fix me, would you stay?" Dean asked staring deeply into my eyes, my smile faulted. Dean noticed and frowned. "It's okay, I get it." He sadly spoke. The only reason I questioned it was my job. It could put Dean in danger but I could live a normal life with him. A real life.
"Look, Dean. I'd have to consider it, my job isn't normal. I'm always on the move and it's dangerous. I don't want to put you in harm's way," I explained but Dean scoffed.
"I know the feeling but we can leave that, I have just one thing to do but then we can go and escape," He argued in a pleading tone.
"Look I'm a bounty hunter of sorts and no matter where I go they'll come after me and I wouldn't be able to live with myself if you got hurt because of me," I replied playing with the hair on the back of his neck. He looked at me with confusion and sorrow-filled eyes.
"Christo," Dean simply said. Confusion struck me.
"How did you know my last name?" I asked.
"I don't," He confessed.
"Okay, then why did you just say 'God' in Latin?" I asked making Dean smile. He quickly kissed me with passion and desire. I was shocked but didn't deny him his kiss. He pulled away smiling widely.
"How do you kill a vampire?" He asked grinning making my eyes and smile widen. He's a hunter?! He looks the part I suppose.
"Decapitation," I replied making Dean giddy. He quickly hugged me and I hugged him back. I don't know why I'm so excited about this, maybe it's because I know he understands.
"How do you kill a Wendigo?" I asked quickly, looking at him with a wide smile.
"Fire," Dean quickly replied. We kissed once again which turned into making out to savour this moment. I sighed with relief when we pulled apart and he smiled at me. I just couldn't help but smile back. "So, getting struck by lightning?" He questioned making me laugh.
"Witch," I groaned making him chuckle.
"Witches are the worst," Dean commented, I couldn't help but laugh.
"Are you just saying that because one hurt me?" I questioned. The smile on Dean's face told me that it was true. "So, electrocution and heart attack?" I questioned making him chuckle.
"My story isn't as good. Sam and I saved some kids and I was fighting the bastard, stepped in the water, and we were both electrocuted," He shrugged but I grinned.
"You saved people in your story, I think you win," I smiled making him chuckle as he thought about it. He seemed to take a minute to just smile at me.
"So, does that mean you'll stay?" He asked hopefully. I smiled and kissed him to give him my answer. He slightly squeezed my thighs showing he was glad.
"There's still time for you to hate me," I joked as I pulled away and stood up.
"I highly doubt that," He chuckled making me laugh. I put my jacket back on and walked into the kitchen with the beer I had stolen from Dean, I'm not sure what I'm doing. I'm just kind of loitering and being happy. That quickly changed when I heard Dean coughing and spluttering. I ran through instantly wanting to help. God, I hope he makes it!

Pokemon artdump GO
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Most of these are my poketrainer sona cuz ive been insanely mentally ill now ive finally, after over 10 years, got a pokemon game...he originated in Hoenn, catching and training Rayquaza in that region who now is one of his most loyal partners. From travelling to Paldea, most of his team is new! He likes to have a new main "team" per region he visits, however he does most commonly go to Unova (hi, this is because unova was my first introduction into pokemon back when it was kinda pretty new, thats why). Second to last image shows how he looked back in Hoenn, he was definitely Rayquaza's biggest fan (sorry zinnia) but that didnt stop him yk. Doing what the player characters usually do. Last one was because god damn volo inspired me and yk my trainer sona isnt the Most sane...(his raidons and Rayquaza are his biggest support net, being almost service pokemon at this point...which he compensates for with lots of loves and treats the best he can). He makes different outfits for every region he visists, which is why his outfit differs so much from back in Hoenn- simply just for the sake of "why not?" (Also, im just really mentally ill over ol slither wing...im sane im sane im sane i). Oh yeah and the ball one with kommo-o is because in violet i set up a picnic and threw out the ball for enrichment because my pokemon may be pixels on a screen but i treat them as real animals should be and being couped up in a ball sounds Horrible And Awful and makes me Cringe so i let them out forever always and my kommo-o specifically targeted me with the ball, it made me laugh so i drew her being a little shit (affectionate). My trainer sona is about as human as youre gonna get from one of my sonas im gonna be honest with you, drawing a people without claws feels wrong.........
The pokesonas are also redesigns from way back when i first got into pokemon, theyre a good 9/10-ish years old now lol, im suprised i even remembered them...i did have a friend who indirectly reminded me of them though so i suppose that helps lolll
The charizard was just cuz i have an irrational dislike towards the charmander line but caught the marked tera raid 'zard for the sake of having all three. I do not like him <3
Also finally, N, the guy i am only a little obsessed with ever since i got into pokemon but uh idk that much seems obvious doesnt it? Hes so me fr forever and ever (this is a bad thing) (i should not relate as deeply as i do)
Anyway lore and art dump over bye guys see you in the next three months

Assorted FFVI headcanons because these blorbos live in my head rent free: Edgar edition
- He became king at 17 and had to keep up an alliance with the people who killed his father alone for ten years, this man absolutely has anxiety
- Is used to suppressing said anxiety because he has to be dependable
- Definitely had a breakdown at some point in front of his friends and felt mortified; his friends don't judge him for it
- Workaholic- buries himself in his duties so he doesn't have to think about his feelings
- Tinkering as a means of comforting himself
- Actually quite the artist, especially sketching plans for machines, totally has a little notebook somewhere with rough sketches of various things and people he's encountered, Relm finds it at some point
- Doesn't hate kids but really also has no idea what to do with them if he's asked to watch them, will agree anyway (especially if it's for Terra)
- Always forgets to drink enough water
- Used to both hot and cold weather since he lives in a desert
- Outfit covers his whole body to protect from the sun but is very breathable so he's not overheating
- More of a survivalist than you'd expect him to be, especially knows a lot about the desert
- Can MacGyver the most seemingly unrelated useless objects into something useful
- The constant skirt chasing and flirting is intentionally exaggerated and he is not actually Like That to the level it seems
- Very bisexual, definitely has/had a thing with Locke or Setzer or both and also has a thing for Terra (good thing he's got two hands!)
- 100% would be down for polygamy
- Blonde hair is weird for a desert dwelling people with darker skin (related: I just cannot picture the figabros as white, they would burn so bad in the desert) but it's a Figaro royal family thing and of course Edgar is proud of it and vehemently refuses to cut it at all, impracticality be damned
- Uses some kind of special conditioner so even though the desert is hot and dry, his hair is very soft and shiny
- Figaro's native dishes can be notoriously spicy so the twins have a high spice tolerance
- Edgar absolutely deliberately chooses the spiciest dishes his country has to offer when entertaining fellow politicians he does not like, and his guests can't really complain because spices are one of those things that mean status and whatnot, so refusing a spicy meal is like slapping Edgar in the face, so he's just sitting there having a nice time and the other guy is internally on fire (yes he did do this to Gestahl and Kefka, the latter of which barely had a reaction to the pain and deeply unsettled him)
- Zero patience for nobility who look down on common folks
- Visits South Figaro incognito to check on his people, some of them have figured out it's him but they keep quiet about it
- Had the death penalty abolished in Figaro very early on in his reign
- Was personally responsible for the invention of air conditioning
- Gets adorably excited when talking about machines, will completely forget that not everyone understands technical jargon
- Very sentimental, has a collection of mementos from his travels, definitely still has the Gerad getup
- Will never admit it out loud but at least one of his friends has figured out that he can be calmed by stroking his hair, like a cat (it was probably Locke, they've known each other the longest, he definitely tells the rest of them because it's adorable and silly, yes Sabin was already aware of this)
- If he had a choice he'd be living in a little workshop building and repairing things for people instead of running a country
- A little bit vain but not obnoxious about it, mostly because he's supposed to keep up a certain image as the king
- Actually enjoyed being Gerad and not having to be proper all the time
- Is not stuck in Figaro all alone after the game because I refuse to believe they'd all just go back to doing their own things, instead his friends show up to pull him away from working himself to death and help take some of the burden off of his shoulders
EDIT: Can't believe I forgot my own headcanon I've already posted about but: migraines
Can you tell I think a lot about Figaro and the twins, because I think A Lot about them, I think the desert kingdom is very neat and desperately want to see it rendered in modern CG (I can't help imagining it would be like the desert region in ff16 every time the plot sends me there; please square I beg of you)

You asked me for some Andreja headcanons, now I ask you for some Sarah Morgan thoughts! Any you have!
Oh lord, buckle up besties, I have a LOT
-Sarah is in her early to mid forties and is starting to grey at the temples. However, she isn't nearly as self-conscious as she expected: she takes the grey hair as a blessing, as a fact that she got to grow older, unlike so many lost to the Colony War.
-Her sleep schedule is non-existent. Not only is she a rabid workaholic, but her nightmares make it very hard to get more than five hours of sleep in.
-Everyone at the Lodge is very aware of that and will always check that the coffee stock is decent, as Sarah Morgan is chugging cup after cup of coffee and tea.
-She's not the only one with raging insomnia, so she finds herself hanging out on the Lodge's balcony with Andreja and/or Barrett a lot, since they also struggle with sleep.
-She is incredibly protective of Andreja, Noel and Matteo. She knows that they are all very capable, but she yearns to protect Noel and Matteo's ''innocence'' when it comes to death-related subjects. Her greatest relief when the Colony War ended, is that the new generation wouldn't have to suffer through the loss of their innocence.
-Her relationship with Andreja is something that she deeply values. She knows Andreja's secret and past, and tries to bring her out of her shell, step by step. She knows better than anyone else how painful it is to keep everyone at an arm's length, but to still yearn for companionship. She always makes time to at least sit in silence or work quietly with Andreja in the vicinity to provide her with quiet support.
-She puts a lot of effort in trying to make the 'deliveries' to the Va'ruun as lawful as possible, as she knows that smuggling weighs heavily on Andreja's conscience.
-Sarah loves the taste of tea but craves caffeine at all times.
-She's a smoker and is really bad at hiding it. Some nights, she stays up until the sun comes up, chainsmoking with her eyes lost to the horizon.
-Despite her best efforts, she is a catastrophic cook but is a decent baker. She's really good at following instructions but gets a little too creative when it comes to cooking.
-Her wardrobe is neatly organised per day and season, with a predetermined rotation of outfits, which makes her a prime target for Sam's teasing about her being uptight and a slight control freak.
-Though she hates paperwork, she doesn't mind doing it as much when other members of Constellation are around. For this purpose, she sometimes brings an armful of slates down to the living area to chat as she fills up paperwork.
-She and Walter like to tease each other mercilessly about expenses, but she deeply values his friendship. Though he can get on her nerves at times, he is good at reading when he ought to be teasing to alleviate the mood, and when he ought to be serious and honest.
-She hangs out with Cora a LOT. She loves the child's natural inquisitive nature and does her best to answer all of her many questions and provide her with all of her knowledge.
-She knows that most of the members consider Constellation to be a family, and although she is really happy that they feel this way, a part of her is torn, because she is really used to keeping things between her personal life and Constellation separate. With Constellation's help and the Spacefarer's advice, she starts to loosen up and is enjoying watching the lines blur.
-In order to let herself stop being the Chair all the time, and more of a part of the Constellation family, she starts planning more relaxing activities. Thus far, her favorite group activity is tableboard games (she watched Matteo tackle and attempt to bite Walter) and movie nights (Sam cried so hard at the end of a chickflick that he almost threw up.)

Hey! I really enjoy your meta and was wondering if you could share your thoughts on why Ed says "never left" in episode 8. Because that infuriated me! He did leave and wasn't planning on coming back before the English reveal. But I also am aware that I relate deeply to Stede in episode 8 (the way they had him wear the same outfit as when he was bullied as a child killed me) so I'm sure my view is skewed. But it read to me like let's just pretend that didn't happen which I understand could be a call back to the bathtub scene but it just rubs me wrong.
So can I have your thoughts about why Ed/the writers went with the iconic "never left" + wink reply?
i CAN, and buckle up because this one is something i have so many thoughts about but somehow have only briefly tackled.
so: ed is a really socially aware guy. he's good with reading people, he can do sarcasm just fine, but he doesn't know the rules of the social road in stede's world which means when stede does the 'my body language and whole vibe SCREAMS i don't like this, my words say yeah cool do it more, even! i'm fine with this' thing because he's used to that as a way to make life "easier" for everybody by just entirely avoiding open confrontation ever, ed is like ...okay, i am either supposed to call you a liar here or carry on? because in my world, when you want something to fuckin stop you say FUCKIN STOP and when you're being a real jerk on purpose, you want people to know it's because you hope they have a shitty day.
(i know ed the adult man not knowing the terms retirement and passive aggressive exist or what they mean has led to some real world logic application all, ed is dumb/doesn't know basic words and the like, but those are Theme Moments because this is a big gay play running on rule of cool. the text is saying: ed wants to stop but doesn't even know it's an option unless you die, and ed says what he means/expects everyone else to do the same.)
so in ed's world, what stede does as a mode of politeness/defense is just called lying. ed's not grounded in the world of books and social games; he's not looking for hidden purposeful meanings in the corners of everybody's words, which contributes to how he misses jack. (sidenote: i think stede is extra snippy because his spidey-sense for passive aggressive fuckery is going off endlessly and telling him something is not RIGHT here, and he needs to be on alert by the same token, but that's not super related. just wanted to say it!!! etc)
also, ed’s been introduced to the idea of passive aggression as a weapon; he hasn't been introduced to the niceties side. so when he leaves, it's with this funky vibe in the air where he feels like jack just came out to have a good time, stede's giving off the kind of mixed signals that are potentially scary, and it culminates in stede unfortunately framing his (very legit) annoyances as an issue with ed/his behavior vs issues with jack, and that only drives the wedge in deeper.
so when ed leaves, it's not because he wants to: it's this rolling avalanche of shitty things that all culminate in ed being like, if jack who represents my past and is just here to have a good time pisses stede off this much and makes him say he doesn't like me around jack, what happens when he decides i'm too much like jack to be borne a second longer and kicks me out, too?
theeeeen he finds out jack was there to fuck shit up on PURPOSE, and what stede had an issue with gets internally reframed. suddenly, stede is not judging ed by proxy, he's judging jack who is a lying dick and trying to cause trouble and drive them apart on purpose. this means even if stede's own issues were a large part of his reaction, stede actually read the room far better than ed. (just like he did at the party.)
the spin now emotionally is: stede tried to protect me. if i had listened and not trusted jack over stede's instincts, maybe none of this is happening. i have to go back and protect him.
which leads me into the actual line!!! stede's face is super key here, to set the stage. he's so, so fucking happy. like: incandescent. when he says 'you came back', he's so fucking relieved. they're about to get boarded by the fucking royal navy and stede looks happier than ever.
which tells ed: you never actually wanted me to leave. you are unconditionally glad to see me back, even though i fucked up and i should have listened to you. you're just glad i'm here, no matter what's going on.
and ed... ed so much wants anybody at all to see him for who he actually is, as he wants to be seen, and then be happy he's in the room.
so 'never left' is the moment he speaks stede's language for the first time, i think. the language of: what i am saying here is a cover for the deeper truth of what i mean. ed says never left, but he doesn't mean it like literally i was never gone or never intended to stay that way.
he means: i didn't want to go. and maybe, even better— emotionally, i was always still with you. my body left, the legend of blackbeard left, but ed was always right here. right where he wants to be.
and they're so thrilled to be together again, yes, but i think that's the crux of this scene and why their gazes stay tender and locked even as everything goes shit around them. why ed needs to reach out, and stede needs to lean back into that touch.
ed knows stede is just glad he's around; stede knows ed didn't ever want to leave him.
(and, after an episode of talking past each other, they are finally starting to work out the language to meet each other on even ground, where ed will give some and stede will give some and they will meet in the middle, neither of them having to exist entirely in the other's world or use the other's words to communicate.)

A Long Winded Attempt to Understand Korekiyo (A Korekiyo Analysis)
How did i get here... (Why do i like this guy)
So cards on the table, i knew of korekiyo's whole creepy vibes far off in advanced before i ever touched the game. nothing in specifics, but i did go into v3 knowing korekiyo reeked of controversy in the fanbase. that resident creepy guy that stranger danger warns you of.
and yeah during my first playthrough of v3, to say i was distrubed puts it lightly. not only was he jammed into a pretty anti-climatic trial 3 (wow ur telling me the guy who started the seance MAY IN FACT be the one able to use it for his own nefarious reasons WOWOW), i was deeply distrubed by this man's blatant disregard for any human diginity or empathy.
only to see that somehow people liked him?! i chaulked it up to those people who just enjoy fictional serial killers, and since i dont enjoy that trope much, i left it that
so how did i end up late at night writing however long this post is going to be trying to analyze him
beats me but lets do a little superficial list for funsies before delving into more critical analysis territory :D
Kiyo can be kinda cool B) (in my subjective opinion)
His interest in anthropology is pretty cool and i like whenever he contributes his own musings about human customs and such. as disconnected he does seem from human life, there is an interesting paradox with his talent relating to observing human life. moreover, there's always something so amusing seeing such a collected character becoming excited over his interest, such as during fte and his talent lab during ch3 :D
small note, but there is something endearing during the ch1 investigation in his awareness of being the "creepy" one of the group. it shows his awareness of himself which idk its funny to me
He has a cool design (Minus the actual outfit for ... uh ... it's very uncomfortable parallels .____.) with him being the few dr characters who have an aspect of androgyny to themselves (aside from chihiro and sakura, but it's more like they conform to the opposite gender role than be in the middle). now while i will address why it gets more problematic, it's neat introducing a male character fully comfortable in showing feminine traits and feels no need to prove his masculinity to himself
initially, with a cast filled with either eccentric personalites like miu, kaito, or tenko to the more brooding characters like ryoma, maki, or shuichi, kiyo comfortabley takes a spot as a seemingly collected head, especially after the loss of kirumi and rantaro
again these are purely subjective, but now onto using a braincell >:)
tw: mentions of inc*st, grooming, and abuse
please click off if these topics cause discomfort to you
"I thought he would be popular"
Did you know that one of kodaka's favorite characters is korekiyo and that he was shocked by kiyo's lack of popularity
source: https://kaibutsushidousha.tumblr.com/post/187409893464/artbook-data-writer-team-interview
Kodaka: To me, the most unexpectedly unpopular character was Korekiyo Shinguuji, not Hoshi. I mean, his uniform is awesome and his unstable relationship with his sister feels like a classic underground movie. Shinguuji is one of my personal favorites and I thought he would be popular. But the people playing the game called him “gross”
Which ... is weird especially considering the pretty abysmal character assassination near the end of kiyo's screentime in the game. Compared to prior chapter 3 killers, who usually tend to be the least sympathized for their double kills and very self-interested motives (celestia's being greed and mikan's being devotion for one person over her classmates ... and maybe lust idk??), kiyo ranks one of the worst. not just stopping at being a serial killer, he does it all for the love he feels for his sister.
Like idk about u but i would have just stopped at the serial killer part (which is an insane sentence for me to write lol)
But i think that it does make a bit of sense for kodaka's shock, as once u shift the perspective to being a writer, kiyo's character concept starts to make sense.
See i think when we consume stories, espeically linear stories, we have the subconcious assumption that the story beats we encounter had been created in that exact succession. We assume the writer creates the story in the exact linear progression of beginning, middle, and end.
but in truth, most creative processes don't work like that. ideas can date from the intialization of a story concept may not get implemented until the middle or even the end of a story. the ironic thing about stories is that even though they are a straightforward experience for the audience, they are all over the place on the writer's end.
so when we encounter the big trial 3 twist of kiyo's true nature, it feels very much like the the writing room also got to this point during drafting and had a conversation like
"Hmmm ... crap, now we gotta put a motive here. any ideas?"
"uhhh .... OH i got it. he's an actually a siscon serial killer who killed for his deceased sister :D i mean he's already creepy so it works"
"hmmm ... any other suggestions ... no? Alright sure let's go with that"
like yeah im sure no one actually thought this happened, but it definetely feels like that on the audience's side. for a character literal last 10% of screentime, the VERY LAST IMPRESSIONS OF THEM, completely make a sharp nose dive is pretty jarring. It's both parts boring because it just proves shady people looking like kiyo always should be suspected as well as shocking to know he was THAT creepy.
but let's actually shift to the possible perspective of the writing team
Amazing Monster, Wrong Genre
So what was the initial purpose the writing team had when conceptualizing korekiyo into the cast?
source: https://kaibutsushidousha.tumblr.com/post/169561747724/artbook-data-korekiyo-shinguuji
(btw shout out to this blog's translations for drv3 supplementary material it helped out a lot!!)
Kodaka: I had already decided to make chapter 3 feel like a Japanese horror movie, so I need a character who were familiar with nursery songs. As you presume, I decided to have a Super High School Level Anthropologist to fill that job.
From my understanding, it seems that in early on, kodaka wanted to have a horror theme for his new game's chapter 3. and that suddenly fully recontextualizes kiyo in this narrative. kiyo's purpose is to be the bogeyman of chapter 3, utlizing the dr formula of the double kill to heighten the feeling that a bogeyman has been let loose in the school, espeically in its most spooky chapter in the franchise.
we assume (lol im assuming u assumed this hahaha) that kiyo was first thought up as an anthropologist and then along the way of writing chapter 3, he was selected to be written off - since maybe the writing crew had no other major plot ideas for him - and just had a really strange motive stapled on.
but according to kodaka's words, korekiyo was primarily first to be a homage to japanese horror villains. kodaka really wanted this creepy atmosphere to the murder case, likely taking influence to japanese horror and its use of legends and folk tale to give his new ch3 killer a talent that can add to the overall vibe of the trial.
moreover, japanese horror is the largest influence for kiyo's conceptualization, as compared to other cultures' horror, japanese horror emphasizes supernatural and psychological horror most. The supernatural creature of the Onryō pops up a lot in japanese horror media (The Ring is the most popular example i know of, as well as the Japanese folktale, Yotsuya Kaidan), which usually is of a vengeful young woman who met an untimely death. They usually have long black hair that envelopes their face with sharp makeup to show their villainous status. This could connect to Kiyo's long black hair, a trait he shares due to his older, deceased sister.
Kodaka: Maybe it’s just me that loves this kind of underground story character too much. I thought he would be well-received among the fans of Suehiro Maruo’s mangas, but I still haven’t seen any comment saying that so far.
Now i dont know too much japanese horror media (probably cuz american lol) but Suehiro Maruo's name rang alarm bells in my head. To those out of the know and too lazy to search up, Suehiro Maruo is a prolific horror manga artist, being the mind behind the infamous book and subsequent anime adaptation, Shoujo Tsubaki. It also spawned the movie adaptation, Midori, which was banned across the world upon its release for its graphic content. This work is quintessential to maruo's works' general themes, centering on the outcasts of humanity, body horror, nihilism in the face of cruelty, and paraphilia.
So yeah ... really for the faint of heart and def would not recommend checking out at night time unless u plan on being an insomniac o__o
But it is very important in contextualizing kiyo if u take into account that Maruo's work may have been a major influence.
Maruo's works aesthetics can already be connected to kiyo's design: Korekiyo's military outfit is very reminscent of showa-era outfits, a time period that Maruo's work takes heavy influence from. The bandages wrapped around kiyo's arms could also be drawn from maruo's interest illustrating physical deformities.
However, it goes deeper when u take into account of kiyo's own ... twisted love that defines his character. maruo's work depicts a lot of disgusting acts of "desire" (desire is an understatement), displaying the horrors of humanity to the reader. the writing staff may have noticed this attribute and thought that adding such an aspect to their own horror character could increase the groteque factor.
it can come across as the writers' own weird reasoning to just insert inc*st into this random character (tho im not at all defending whatever the hell was going on with the monokubs in ch4 ugh), but under this context, it seems more like the writing team wanted to replicate the horror maruo's work evokes. i mean, while maruo's work has obviously drawn criticsm for it going too far, there still are fans of his work who defend it by saying it is in the horror genre, so what do you expect?
so we have general japanese supernatural and Maruo's work, but there is one final ingredient to our kiyo character stew (hahaha get it cuz ... his exectuion ... melting pot hahah... ill see myself out) So moving across the ocean, we arrive at the classic American horror movie, Pscyho from 1960. Specifically to the horror movie's antagonist, Norman Bateman.
And yeah, the parallels between Korekiyo and Norman are very obvious.
Both are serial killers with quiet outer personas
Both have a split personality, specifically a feminine persona, that drives their killing sprees
both have inc*stuous (for norman, it is more implied and more overtly abusive) with the sole, older female figure in their life (kiyo's being his older sister, while norman is his mother)
And to prove that norman bateman directly inspired the writers during the creative process, the villain of the light novel spin-off, Danganronpa: Kirigiri, is called Norman with the practically same character concept from the 1960 film. And the writer of this light novel? No other than Danganronpa V3's co-writer, Takekuni Kitayama.
So what did this deep dive into korekiyo's character concept prove? really it is just to show that no, the inc*st wasn't this last minute character shift but something that is, whether we like it or not, the core of kiyo's character. kiyo is a monster, and thats the reason kodaka loved writing him. it is similar to why people enjoy horror antagonists. they are these interesting character studies that are worth deep diving into the worst of humanity and to watch how the tragedy of how this villain is formed.
in a sense, like how kiyo is obssessed with observing the beauty of humanity, kiyo's conceptualization is about the supposed audience is observing the horror of humanity seen through kiyo.
but there's a bit of a monkey wrench in all of this.
kiyo is a horror character stuck in a danganronpa game, which according to wikipedia is "a mix of adventure, visual novel, detective and dating simulator elements"
whoops
Danganronpa is a game, which if u haven't checked ... is about not knowing about the murderer that might be standing next to u, hence the "detective elements". So when you have this super cool, totally spooky character that you really wanna put into your new murder mystery game, you kinda run into the problem that you cant reveal he's this terrible person from the start.
Which is what causes Kiyo to go cold turkey for the first two chapters. they couldn't just reveal him to be a serial killer right away, otherwise the audience will say korekiyo is just another, less subversive genocide jill clone. but korekiyo is a horror character, who only work when the horror about them is revealed right away. watch any horror movie, and you would be pretty upset if the monster is revealed in the last 10% of the movie. while that makes sense for a mystery novel's culprit, it can't work for the horror homage kiyo is meant to be. horror works when the antagonist has a strong horrifying prescense that adds pressure to the mc. kiyo doesn't do that because he can't do that.
not to mention the "dating sim elements". the writing staff dont just have to find a way to fit kiyo into the unsuspecting cast, they also have to make him "likeable" to some players to consider him an option for free time. its where those superficial aspects of him that i enjoy come into play. some players enjoy those traits and as the dating sim formula suggests, will become attatched to kiyo in a positive way.
.... which only further ruins kiyo's horror set up. it is the root of the issues regarding korekiyo's character and what makes me liking him so complicated. kodaka and the team really wanted to have a culprit similar to their favorite horror media to slip into their ch3 mystery set-up. i bet writing his trial 3 breakdown was cathartic since they finally were able to write the whole point of kiyo's character from the start. but the problem is that because they had to work in the parameters of a dr game which demands opposing things from its characters (having room to grow and having something likeable/redeemable about them), they created a contradictory set-up for kiyo.
sure he was creepy, but after two chapters of him not doing much except showing that its the way he chooses to express himself, it felt to me that dr was trying to send a message to not judge a book by its cover. And thats a fine message, but it never was something the writers intended, so when they actually implemented their idea, the whole point of korekiyo's charcter become lost in translation.
Side tangent: ... the gender thing
(honestly idk how to feel about this section but this is more of my opinion and id love to hear anyone's take on this point)
Now dr has a messy track history with gender (oh boy im talking abt gender now oof). while chihiro and sakura both are extrememly likeable characters and have traits outside of their gender expression, it doesn't change the fact that the handling of chihiro's reveal and sakura's treatment from the rest of the cast throughout the games can come across as tasteless. though i'd argue that how kiyo's gender is handled is probably the worst.
so kiyo is meant to be a strong allusion to norman bateman, and along with it, him being the "mommy's boy". trope. another similar horror example is Jason Voorhees, the antag behind Friday the 13th. The trope usually features the male character having a controlling maternal figure, usually due to the abscense of a father figure. while it usually is played for laughs (not good either), in horror specifically, it usually is the reasoning behind why the male antagonist is a killer and inhuman. There's a strong implication that because of a strong female influence in these male characters' lives, they grew up unmanly and thus dysnfunctional, worthy of being ostracised for their lack of masculinity.
and while you can argue that ofc the problamatic aspect of the trope will be present with kiyo since he is meant to be a nod to this trope, it doesn't take away from how kiyo is treated compared to other male characters. it feels very much that because of his sister's overbearing influence (i will also get to her later), kiyo's understanding of himself has become warped, so thus his gender expression is called into question.
for one, he is the only masc character during argument Armament to have his defeat sprite sexualize him. now while all argument armaments seem to be the point to sexualize characters (unfortunetly ....) look at how kaito is potrayed compared to kiyo and the framing of their defeat sprites shows the difference. kaito still is shown standing and emphasizes how wounded he is, but because of kiyo's feminine nature, it is somehow okay for him to be potrayed in a position that emphasizes his weakness.
moreover, kiyo's androgyny doesn't seem to be a seperate part of his identity but rather all a memento to his deceased sister. he mentions that his uniform is selected by his sister, and he had chosen to grow out his hair also for his sister (though that was revealed in the spin off manga, which aren't exactly canon but it falls in line with how kiyo is written). Instead of his gender expression being something he chooses to do, it is because of his very toxic love for his sister. it feels like they had to justify his androgyny, which diminishes the value it has.
He wears makeup not because he wants to but because his sister persona wants to. Yes, it is because of him being a norman bateman refrence but it still leaves a bitter taste in my mouth that kiyo is demonized for being feminine.
"Apologize, apologize, apologize"
but okay, if he is meant to be the norman bates character, there is no evidence to show that kiyo's older sister was abusive ... except ...
I remember when i initially finished v3 and saw posts online about korekiyo, i was a bit baffled by him being a supposed "victim". nothing from kiyo's dialgoue ever implied that he felt mistreated by his sister. he's literally in love with her, how could he possibly be abused by her?
though isnt that the red flag right there? if kiyo was abused, he may not have known due to his infatuation. So time to do a deep dive about kiyo's sister.
We don't have much time with "her" (Kiyo's sister persona), so whatever we do get of her has to be chosen to effectively convey her who she is in such a short amount of time. Though it is not directly kiyo's sister, it likely is the entry point we have to understand how kiyo viewed her.
So when does his sister persona manifest? It happens right after kiyo starts to breakdown when kaito claims it is all clear how angie's murder was planned out, likely from realizing that he is practically caught at this point. Kiyo for the first time has lost composure in the game (in line with most trial 3 culprits) , with his sister interuppting then.
Sister persona: Sweet Korekiyo, calm yourself ...
Out of the gate, kiyo's sister persona's first action is to calm kiyo down, giving him a direct command.
Sister persona: Their words are all hollow. There is no meaning to them. You must teach these ignorant children a lesson.
Right after, kiyo's sister persona discredits everyone around kiyo to ensure he is calm, trying to place kiyo above them all by calling all his classmates children. I will touch back on this later.
Skipping ahead to after kiyo is accused of angie's murder, we get this exchange.
Korekiyo: N-No ... I'm not the culprit ...! S-So ... why is everyone looking at me like I am ...? Why! Why are they!? Why is it --
Sister persona: Calm yourself, Korekiyo.
Korekiyo: Y-yes ...!
Sister persona: You mustn't raise your voice. You mustn't stutter. You mustn't lose composure. You mustn't become flustered. You mustn't waver.
Again, the moment Korekiyo starts to lose his composure, his sister persona steps in to command him to stop. Remember, out of anything the writing crew could have written for korekiyo's sister, it was her few first lines where he gives command after command to korekiyo. And we see these commands already play out with kiyo prior in the game. He never has raised his voice nor stuttered prior to trial 3 (though i could be misremembering), so him doing so now shows he is stepping out of line of what his sister previously told him, hence why she has to reassert herself.
And Kiyo ofc fully submits to his sister, having regained his compsure right after.
Sister persona: Look at their horrid faces. This sorry lot is not worth agonizing over.
We see here again the sister persona pushing others away from kiyo and placing kiyo above them. Now while this can come off as kiyo indirectly telling himself he is better than his classmates, this is the second time his sister persona says something like this, meaning it had to have been a pattern in their relationship, where his sister would push others away, and in a way, isolating him.
Korekiyo: Y-You're right... Yeah ... You're right.
Aside from how it is clear how Kiyo shows his devotion in his "sister", it also shows how he corrects himself here. When his sister said to not stutter, he initally stutters before fixing it.
Also just hearing kiyo say "yeah" just sounds so weird to me. Idk maybe he's talked more casually prior, but i feel that it is only in this trial does kiyo's speech tend to break up and sound a bit more colloquial. normally i feel he would say yes lol. but i could be wrong
Sister persona: Well said ... Good job, Korekiyo.
Korekiyo: Yes ... thanks.
After kiyo regains his compsoure to claim he won't acknowledge shuichi's accusation, his sister persona compliments him, and again we see kiyo's speech slip to a bit more colloqiual when he says "thanks" rather than "thank you". It could be that he picked up his manner of speaking from his sister as well.
After the closing arguement, we see kiyo still in distress
Korekiyo: Uh ... Uuuhhh...
Sister persona: Sweet Korekiyo, there are times when it's necessary to admit defeat.
Korekiyo: A-Admit...? ... Yeah... Okay ...
But once his sister persona tells him to admit defeat, it takes him a few moments before finally admitting to the crime. It once again displays the level of control his sister persona has over kiyo, being the only way kiyo seemed willing to acquiese.
Again, the writing staff could have written anything here for how kiyo's sister persona would work, but they chose this kind of diagloue for her, where she primiarly praises kiyo, gives commands, and isolates him.
knowing that kiyo's sister grew up sickly and without any human connections, the story kind of writes itself from there.
Without any real friends, kiyo's sister was driven desperate for an ... intimiate human connection, and the only one she had would unfortunetly be her younger brother. Due to her being an older sister, she was very strict with him, but provided him praise and comfort to keep him around her. Furthermore, she would put down kiyo's peers by praising kiyo as better than them. The line where kiyo's sister refers to everyone else as children earlier rings especially strange since kiyo is the same age as everyone there. But it gives off the idea that kiyo's sister (who obviously would be older than kiyo's classmates) called them children to make kiyo feel he is more mature, which holds its own disgusting implications.
I don't think that kiyo's sister inherently meant harm to kiyo, but it is highly likely that in her desperation, she used her power over kiyo for her own selfish needs. It fits right into the tragedy you would see in horror, where the worst of humanity seeps through, culminating into the monster we would see as the antagonist of the fiction.
(Speculative tangent here lol: I think another interesting note is how kiyo's mind seems to break into two whenever he is put into high amounts of distress. I'm not going to engage in the whole "what kind of mental illness does he have" since a) im not qualified and b) i dont even think the writing staff cared tbh but whatever he has, it is clear he has to strict personas when under intense stress. When he was backed into a wall during the trial, kiyo claims repeatedly during both the trial and the arguement arnament that he doesn't know why he is the culprit. It does seem like classic denial from any culprit, but kiyo's is different as he is demanding an answer from his sister to assure him otherwise. he stutters more and can't form full sentences while his sister persona speaks fully and more like the kiyo we are used to. It does feel like he isnt fully aware of his actions, which lines up with him when he says later he lost his mind following his sister's death. To me, Kiyo attempts to emmulate his sister to stay in touch with reality as he viewed his sister as the one in control of his world. so when he can't react properly, his mind splits where his sister becomes very literal in his mind in order to soothe himself. likely due to his overdependence on her, he couldnt image himself seperated from the only human connection he had. all im saying is that his sister is the coping mechanism that a very unstable korekiyo needs in order to stay whole.)
I can fix hi - his writing i mean
So in a very twisted way, I don't hate the decision for korekiyo to have his story center around his inc*stuous love. It definetly took a lot of straining my perspective but i do see the remnents of korekiyo, a monster born from the monsterous actions in his life, working.
but you can't potray such a backstory within the last five minutes of your character's screentime. And especially with how heavy the subject material is, some level of foreshadowing is neccessary in order to feel like this plot detail is treated with some level of respect.
but obviously the writers can't. this is just some one-off trial they just wanted to write to be spooky, not this psychological deep dive into one culprit's backstory. But they should have realized that they don't have the time to properly set this up nor execute it , so i agree with most people when it is best to cut out the inc*st. kiyo's sister should have been set up a bit more, maybe in chapter 2, where kiyo speaks a bit more of how he is influenced by his sister in his wardrobe and his talent, so she is in the back of our minds. But kiyo could refer to her in the present, so the actual twist of chapter 3 is that she is dead and that kiyo has his sister persona.
I think the sister persona makes sense, since it adds to the supernatural theming of chapter 3 and pays off what is beneath his mask. It could be a simpler story of kiyo falling into grief for a sister he admired. Maybe he feels guilt over how miserable his sister's life was, thinking he is responsible for his sister's decline health cuz u know, he probably was a kid when his sister died and kids tend to blame themselves. Really just keep it to be a normal, albeit dependent, sibling love he has, where his actions spawned from grief, not this uncomfortable combination between grief and lust.
But if the writers really were insistent that on writing inc*st so late into kiyo's screen time, i have one last-minute fix.
Its that damn cg that plays in post-trial. you know ... that one which kiyo narrates his love for his sister. The one where we see said romance, and it has this whole flowery look to it. now it can be argued it shows how kiyo is an unreliable narrator, where he has romantisized his relationship with his sister.
but i dont care. its just gross to depict this unhealthy dynamic in such an ... irresponsible way. It is like the dr staff couldnt help themselves, they just had to draw kiyo and his sister practically naked. which like no ... just dont use this as an excuse to sexualize your minor characters AGAIN
In my concept, the image can be replaced by depicting a more grim image of kiyo's relationship with his sister. show her trapped in her hospital bed, sickly and her face obscured by her unkempt, overgrown hair. But kiyo sits close by, his face cupped in her palms, with just the two of them trapped in that hospital room from the rest of humanity, with only each other.
kiyo's dialogue can overall be the same (maybe tweak a bit to show his grief more) juxtaposing his idyllic recollection to the grimmer reality we are presented. Maybe it's not the best change, but what i wish they emphasized was less of the actual inc*st and more of the horror. u know ... the supposed basis of kiyo as a character.
so yeah ... i guess i am a korekiyo fan
Korekiyo is a character that when i say i do like him, it kinda means i like the concept of him and the few parts of him, not the whole disaster we got. i know dr always struggles in fully executing their cast of characters on account that, you know ... most of them gotta die. but i do think that if the writers recongized the limitations and adapted kiyo better for the dr story structure, kiyo may have been more popular like kodaka expected.
i dont need this super large angsty story of kiyo (thats what head canons are for anyway :D ) but what i did need was just a bit more respect given to his story and him as a character. not saying you can't give kiyo any moments of comedic relief (i think because they couldnt make him too obviously evil at the beginning, the writers ended up making him a kind of comedic character in how over the top creepy he is, which i think works), but dont give the audience such a last-minute character reveal that could break just about any character, regardless of how far back in advanced the reveal was planned.
anyway i dont have any proper ending for this and i have been writing for 3 hours so yeah ty for reading if u read this far :D

SOSOSO I WAS TEARING THROUGH YOUR BLOG (bc I love your fanfics they are so CRUNCHY) and I found an ask about what projects you would like to write and stuff and you said something about a comic with Umbran hair rituals but it was lost bc you couldn't draw I CAN DRAW AND I WANT TO HEAR ABOUT THEM PLEASE PLEASE INFODUMP (I can't make comics but I can make concept art please madam just one chance I need that brainrot 🤲🤲🤲)
Tumblr media
SCREAMING !?!?!?!!? HELLO !!!!!!!!!!
So fucking HONORED you enjoy my fics. Crunchy is SUCH a good description. Crönchy™
This Barbie is me always thinking about Bayo to be clear
OH MY GODDDDDDD HAIR THOUGHTS. YES. OKAY. LET'S DIVE IN. BELOW DA CUT CAUSE I AS PER USUAL AM GONNA RAMBLE.
I just have a collection of various headcanons and such so I will put them in no particular order o7
Hair is DEEPLY personal to witches, because it is used as the medium for summoning. So caring for your hair is considered one of the most important things you can do (I have had this hc forever but CATLD made it canon, so I feel justified. HA.)
In Bayo 1, we see all the witches in flashbacks have their hair covered in some way (only Jeanne's hair is really visible, but it is still restrained in those little gold nets, and in CATLD Morgana's hair is kept up in elaborate horns) so I hc that witches tend to keep their hair up or covered or protected once they reach adulthood - they only let it down/uncover it when they are alone or around people they trust!!
To touch another witches hair is a HUGE deal - I wrote about this briefly in this fic, but essentially to be allowed to touch/brush/style another witch's hair is the ultimate sign of trust!! Even witches who train together constantly or are directly related don't necessarily ever touch each other's hair. It is like. The biggest of deals type thing. To be invited to touch someone's hair is basically laying your heart bare to say "I trust you completely" and to take that invitation is like saying "I will care for you forever."
So Cereza using her hair to repair Cheshire in CATLD??? HUGEEEEEEEEEE
Witches tend to keep their hair long. If they cut it short, it usually is out of grief (Jeanne's hair is short in Bayo 1 because of this) or to symbolize a new era of their lives (Bayo's hair is short in Bayo 2 because of this).
Their is also a ritual cutting of hair which I mention in this fic, which symbolizes the swearing in of a new leader of the Umbra. Witches cut a small lock of their hair and burn it together to show their trust in and loyalty to a new leader.
Another ritual is when a witch makes her first pact with an Infernal - generally whoever is the leader of the clan will grant said witch something to put in their hair/cover their hair with as a sign of respect and welcoming to the clan proper as a "full witch" (Jeanne's little golden nets were her gift from the Elder. Bayo's headcovering in flashbacks she made herself, but Jeanne stitched it and her whole outfit with gold <3)
So Madama Khepri is the 'Protector of Time' and her description says that she can determine a person's fate by gazing at their shadow. But I think it would be neat if she COMMUNICATES said fate by wrapping a witch in their own hair (just like we see with Bayo and Jeanne in Bayo 1/Bayo 2 respectively).
Speaking of, that hair wrapping we see Jeanne do for Bayo and then Bayo do for Jeanne when they are both almost dead/down for the count? It is actually the death ritual for witches. If their bodies are left behind when their souls are taken to Inferno, whatever witches were closest to them will wrap them up with their own hair and bury them. All the witches in those Lumen sealed caskets in the first game are entombed like this. Oof.
In CATLD we see Morgana's hair in horns, and Jeanne and Bayo's with little cat ears adorning their heads. I am going to say that such styles are usually youthful fads, and a way to teach witches how to control their hair with magic on a small scale before they start to use it for summoning. Once witches get older they tend not to do such styles anymore - Morgana is one of the rare exceptions, and keeps her hair in huge horns because she loved the style (in her youth, small horns were the fad. Other witches found her odd for never letting the style go.)
Most witches don't dye their hair or alter it majorly, outside of the rare haircut. The fact that Viola's hair is dyed would cause the witches of old to keel over and die LOL. (I hc that Viola's natural color is actually a light brown, so if she properly summoned a battle suit or an Infernal that would be the color of her hair despite the dye)
Okay. These are the main ones I can think of right now? I am currently working on a Morgana POV fic with her growing closer with others and letting go of grief through hair and trust actually, but it is pretty short and experimental and non canon compliant after a certain point, so.
You mentioned drawing!! AUGHHHHHHHH. Listen, listen - if you do feel any artistic inspiration from this, PLEASE FEEL FREE TO DRAW WHATEVER. JUST SEND IT TO ME. AUGHHHHH.
I just love witches and their hair. Thank you for giving me the chance to ramble on like a madman about it. #normalmode

very very specific request but 2019 freddy x clown collector reader? like reader collects clown dolls and all that kinda jazz and just how freddy would feel about that
(😭)
For some reason, as I go through dark times, this triggered such motivation and inspiration within me, so I thank you deeply🥲🫵🏽🫶🏽.
Also, I'm gonna name you bc I can pretty much guess you have a thing for specifically 2019 Freddy and that's pretty unique about you, so your name is 2019 (unless you have something more creative in mind lmao-).

Prompt: The weird and overly fan-obsessed didn't particularly have a place at Fawcett Central. But, there they were, anyway, to be gawked and mocked at by the relatively common and "normal" student body. And while yes, Freddy was a prime suspect in the 'overly obsessive' category, he had to admit you definitely took the cake for the 'weird' department. In a good way to him, of course. Besides, who else is he gonna jokingly refer to as a wanna-be Gotham villain?
Timeline: Post Shazam! Pre S!:FOTG

I know you said clown collector, but because I'm literally insane, I wanna take this a step further...
Reader who is just full steam ahead into the clown-lifestyle😻🤡!!
Surely, it all started at a young age with your odd habit of collecting any bit of clown-related memorabilia you could get your grubby little hands on. But it soon escalated (and I'm betting startling your parents💀) into you basically being a clown.
Well, not literally.
I mean, you entertained the idea that you were decently humorous, and the occasional animal balloon tricks were attempted, but besides that, you managed to take something known for its silly (sometimes scary) wackadoo nature, and made it ✨️girlboss✨️.
And it helped that you didn't exactly shy easy, so you were proudly showing up places in your colorful, rainbow, clown-esque outfits...
Tumblr media
Unless, of course, you happen to have a specific and favorable color, to which then it was your clown-esque wear themed specially in that color.
And your creative makeup that managed to be both cute and clown. Clute, if you will. Or maybe Cu-own...? Uh...😬...
Tumblr media
And you could never forget about your hair. Unless you're a huge fan of styling and coloring your actual hair in cool, funky colors and ways, wigs were your best friend...
Tumblr media
"Places" included school, for the most part, and you had thankfully become desensitized to the rude and teasing stares and the unprompted comments and whatnot... And at some point, so did the rest of the student body and staff, because it was clear no matter what they said, you weren't gonna tone down yourself for them.
Plus, it was fun! You felt as though the positive outweighed the negatives, thoroughly enjoying the bright-eyed and excited looks on younger grade's faces when they saw you occasionally pass through their section of the building, or when you'd actually receive compliments on your makeup from some of your peers. Plus, you were routinely asked to do other people's theater makeup, so-...
You got to try out new looks, new styles, new whatever every day without a care in the world!
──────────── •⚡️• ────────────
It was something Freddy found himself admiring about you from afar. It's not like you were exactly hard to miss, but it didn't change the fact that every seventh period, he'd wake himself up from an exhausting school day in complete, full anticipation for your arrival. He adored your outfits, your makeup, your hair, and once the day came when he'd finally gain the courage to speak to you, he'd hopefully adore you as whole, too.
That day came when you two were assigned to be partners for an upcoming project. A bittersweet emotion ran through his chest. Wasn't this what he wanted? The perfect excuse, chance, opportunity to get to know you? He was so nervous, he broke out into a cold sweat. Hands growing shaky and clammy, watching as you approached through the gaggle of other students shuffling around to get to their partners. And once finally sat, he stared, completely tuning out the teacher's next set of instructions.
At first, he couldn't bring himself to speak. For what seemed like the first time in a long while, Freddy Freeman was speechless. In complete awe by your presence (and ecstatic you hadn't grimaced or groaned when he was announced to be your partner), he admired every single detail of your purposefully paled face, the random little specs of glitter, elongated eye and mouth features thanks to eyeliner, and the outfit was definitely another one for the books.
At first, this boy's intense stare up and down your figure made you hope he wasn't actually the weirdo he was coming off as. Granted, you...did look like a clown, but once the stare surpassed the entire rant the teacher had gone on and then some minutes afterwards, you felt it necessary to speak up.
"Um... So, do you know how you wanna go about the project? Or...?"
"Sorry for- Oh my god, I-...Sorry for staring, that was probably really creepy for you and that's, like, the opposite of what I wanna do here-. I just think that this, whatever this is, this whole..." He used a big hand gesture to reference your ensemble. "...Is the coolest ever and I'm literally blown away."
"?!?😃 Oh my god, thank you 😃?!?"
And that was all it took before the two of you were hyperactively conversing back and forth on, not even just style choices, but on any and everything else that came to mind. It was like a force had been sparked between you two, the fire unable to be put out, let alone dimmed. It led to the start of an immediate and solidified friendship. Which, of course blossomed into something more. But I wanna focus on more of the "firsts" for now.
──────────── •⚡️• ────────────
Aka, The first time you had entered his home and met his family, which was the same day y'all met. He hadn't prepped you or anything, simply guaranteeing that they were bound to love your company and to pay no mind to any comments they might make. And while sure, you were pretty much used to having that mindset already, for some reason, this time made you nervous. Nervous like the very first time you had truly discovered you even liked this style and wanted to go out in public dressed as such, nervous. It had you adjusting your pins, clothing, and other accessories the entire walk there, and you swore that you had probably stress-sweat all of your hard-work makeup away.
To keep this short and sweet, every interaction was... unique, to say the least. First, there was a tall brunette sporting prep-wear, waltzing around the house with her phone pressed against her ear and determination in her voice to ace this interview for a nearby community college. But upon seeing you, stopped dead in her tracks and (much like Freddy) s t a r e d.
"That's Mary." "Your sister?" "Yes, out of two." "She's pretty."
"Freddy, why is there a clown in our home? Darla's birthday isn't for another four months."
Ngl, that stung you a little, but nothing you haven't heard (or expected to hear) before...
"Wh- No, shut up, that's not- She's a friend from school, we have a project together. This is just what she looks like, this is how she looks." "...Oh :). Well, you're gonna have to teach me how you have such a smooth base, because my products could never. Anyways, talk later, interview..." And with a shy point to her phone, she left you with a grin that you returned, growing flattered at the compliment on your makeup.
Then there was a boy, about shoulder height with glasses, who barely gave half of a glance in your direction. It's not that he didn't see you at all. He just... didn't care. Clearly, too focused on the TV screen that he stood basically directly in front of. "Optimal gaming stance, he claims..." Freddy informed, swiftly pulling you along before you could become engrossed in the Mortal Kombat fight yourself.
You were lead to the kitchen, Freddy rummaging through the pantry and fridge on the hunt for proper sustenance while you worked together. It was there, you were met with his mother, who gave a very "mom-happy" yet clearly confused smile. "Hi...!" She greeted suddenly, which urged you to awkwardly strike out your hand for her to shake. If you knew you were gonna be literally seeing his entire family same day, you would've toned down a little bit, at least. Just to let them get used to it all... but alas...
"Hi, I'm (Y/N). I'm just here to work on a project with Freddy." "Oh, I see! A theater project."
"Nah, science." Freddy corrected with a tone of casualty, kicking the fride door closed with the stub of his crutch, his other hand/arm supporting the weight of all of his gathered snacks and drinks.
"Oh." Rosa smiled again, still innocently confused. And before you could try to explain, Freddy was already insistent on the hurry to his room. It's okay, though, because once Rosa realized what you wore was just a creative, style choice a while later, she found it just that. Creative. And totally supported and compared it to alternative styles she'd seen back in her high school days, bless her heart🥰😭.
On the way towards/up the stairs was where you encountered what you had to assume was Freddy's father and older brother, who breezed past the two of you at first, but then did quick double-takes. "Ohooh, you look sick! What is this, like a statement, or...?" You received an immediate compliment from Victor, a chuckle leaving your throat along with a shrug of your shoulders.
"Something like that, I guess." And then Pedro, who did a scan up and down your figure much like Freddy had in class, before giving a satisfactory nod.
"Cool." "Thank you :')."
Walking down the hallway en route to Freddy's room, there was one more escapade that involved your purse accidentally falling open and your makeup going everywhere. It was the glittery stuff, too, so not only was it an expensive loss, but it was now going to be permanently marked onto the hardwood floor (yes, you felt beyond terrible, but it doesn't really matter bc a. There's already stains and glitter and whatnot everywhere in that house that are permanent, Rosa and Victor have given up on them, you can't convince me otherwise. And b. They ended up renovating by the second movie anyway, so it's fine😭).
It didn't stop you from desperately trying to scoop it all up, anyways, though (cuz I would, too, ngl-). Freddy informed that he'd go to his room to set the food down and would be back to help you, which was fine, but it left you in his hallway desperately scrambling at loose makeup like a weirdo. But clearly, that isn't what Darla saw when she poked her itty bitty head out of her room at the commotion. In her eyes, you were a mystical, magical being that harbored one of her favorite things in the whole world (glitter, duh), and she squealed so l o u d-
It scared you at first, especially when she came barreling towards you and almost managed to tackle you in an unexpected but returned hug. Rambling on and on about what a honor it was to meet you, "...whatever you are...!" She added, which pulled a giggle from your lips, and how excited she was and how she had so much to show you and-
"Oh my god, D, why..." Freddy sighed, having left for what was barely even a minute or so and had come back to find his youngest sister perched in your lap and talking your ear off. He should be doing that! Well, I guess minus the sitting in your lap part.
Unless you're into that🥴.
Idk. Anyways-
"DID YOU KNOW ABOUT THIS, DID YOU KNOW SHE WAS HERE?!" "😐Yes, I did. I brought her here. She's my friend and we're BUSY, so you need to go back to your ROOM, and mind your BUISNESS, please."
It took a lot more convincing, but after promising you'd converse with Darla another time (without Freddy💀-), she did as told and you two had finally entered his room. You found yourself quiet impressed with his superhero memorabilia, something about it reminding you of your own "little" collection back home. Maybe the obsessiveness of it all, or simply just how much of it there was. But you didn't have the pleasure of questioning, because-
"What the hell...?" "Dude, don't start-" "-I wasn't gonna say anything." "You literally were, I can tell by that dumb look on your face." "Freddy, I guarantee you, I'm not the dumb looking one in this room. And don't get me wrong, it isn't her either..." "Harhar, you're so funny. Why don't you leave and go do stand up comedy? I think you in particular would make an excellent CLOWN, don't you think, (Y/N)?"
"I... uhm...uh... ;-;." You weren't expecting a fifth sibling, that's for sure. His family was clearly very diverse. And at first, you couldn't quite tell if he was getting ready to bully you or not, seeing as Freddy was very quick with his wit in order to defend you. You wouldn't doubt it. Billy seemed to suffer from a bad case of RBFS.
Resting Bitch Face Syndrome.
"Ignore him." Freddy advised, whipping open his laptop while Billy scoffed.
"I'm right here, y'know. This is my room, too, you guys can't just-" "Okay, fine, then ignore him harder."
You giggled. It was grounds for Billy to address you separately/on his own.
"I like your outfit. It just...caught me off guard." You smiled, giving a nod of understanding. "Thanks, I get that a lot."
──────────── •⚡️• ────────────
The first time Freddy visited your house was months after the initial meeting. Not for any particular reason, there just hadn't been any real excuse until now...
"My parent(s) have been dying to meet you, like, I swear, if they keep pestering me about it, I was going to actually go insane. On some Joker type shit."
Freddy laughed at your last remark, but as we all know, the boy is quick-witted and smart-mouthed, so it was always easy for him to launch off of literally anything you say with a teasing remark that... sometimes you swore was him actually flirting. But, you couldn't be too sure. You didn't wanna ruin a good thing.
(You say as you literally bring him home to your parent/guardian(s) as if that's not the literal thing you do when-...nvm).
"Oh, so you've been gassing me up, huh~? Cute, cute... D'you tell them how much I adore you? Wouldn't want them thinking I'm neglecting you or anything." "Stop it." You giggled, nudging at his shoulder before pulling out your house key.
Freddy didn't exactly know what he expected upon entering your household. He supposed it'd reflect yourself. Colorful and creative, lots of little knick-knacks and trinkets, endless amounts of stuff to fill any empty space... At the very, very, fantasy like most, your house would be some foreign cottage in the woods that resembled a lot like the witche's candy house from the Hansel & Gretel tale (before it rotted, ofc).
So naturally, he was a little thrown off to find it was his very least thoughts that had come to play, the house almost gray compared to you. White walls, furniture organized hyper-symmetrically, every last item in its very clear-cut place. Not a spec of dust or dirt, not a thing out of place... and quiet. Almost eerily so. Well, maybe not. It could just be the fact that he wasn't used to seeing and hearing a house as such, given his living situation (loud family, messy-homey-actually looks lived in house...). But regardless-
"...I'm home!!" The call out to your parent(s) startled him for a moment, and though you did receive an answer back that sounded like it came from a room close by, it was almost like it echoed against the silence. Freddy shook it off. You didn't judge anyone or anything when you had first come over to his place, so he wouldn't do the same. If anything, they were just loose observations he couldn't help but make/notice.
But anyways- You lead him into your kitchen and there, he met your parent(s), who was quick to make a comment on how surprisingly "normal" he appeared to be. And usually, something like that might sting a little (for you, because like, uh, rude?? But dw, they meant it in a teasing/jokey way). But to Freddy? Normal? That meant the world, seeing as usually, most people couldn't see past his crutch, should they choose to see him at all. But he supposed the apple didn't fall far from the tree in the "non-judgemental" department. You must've got it from them.
That went relatively well, but here came the part you were always nervous about when inviting guests into your room...
"Woah..." The same way he was captivated by you was the same way he felt about your room. It was the splash of color amongst your house. Figures, all of what he'd expected of the whole/entire house would be crammed off into your one room, I mean, duh, where else would it be? It was littered with posters and trinkets and stuffed animals, clothes lying around that you scrambled to pick up and shove into your closet out of sheer embrassment. Even the walls were painted the color(s) of your choosing/liking, and my god, did you have so many different shelves full of things he wanted to mess with. He wouldn't, for now, waiting for the right time to ask permission before touching anything.
And then...he saw it. The corner of your room dedicated to that one specific, niche little thing you loved so much and based your entire personal being around...
The clown corner🤡.
"Oh...my god..."
You quickly spoke up before he could say anything more, the initial shock of your odd clown figurines, dolls, books, whatever the fuck else could possibly be clown-themed/related collection being enough for you to just assume the worst of thoughts he may have. "I know, it's weird. I mean, weirder than normal weird. But-" "I love you." He had whipped his head towards you just as fast as the confession left his person, a lazy smile etched into his features while you grinned almost manically because like, huh??
"...Excuse me😃?"
He shook the expression away, shaping himself back to normal as fast as possible at your reaction.
"No-! I don't. I mean, I do! Like, I meant it like, I love how you're like me, with the whole, "corner of the room being dedicated to this thing," thing. Superheroes are my thing, clowns are yours... obviously, and I love that. I love that you're me and I'm you and we're basically one."
"Freddy-..." You sighed, only able to laugh to yourself and at his rambling before gently pulling him closer to one of the shelves by the hand. "Look at this..." You encouraged, watching him lean closer to inspect some of the figurines and newspapers and other lose things in one specific place on the shelf.
"Oh my shit, that's Harley Quinn...!!" He gushed while you nodded proudly.
"My idol." You added, Freddy turning to you as you explained. "I know people consider her a villain, or whatever. Or that's she's crazy. But, I don't understand how that could be possible when the woman literally has a PhD and was an entire psychiatrist before she met Joker. Not to mention, the only reason she did half of the crazy shit she did was 'cause of that cunt-wad, so when I heard she finally emancipated herself from him, you have to understand... I literally love her."
Freddy didn't know how else to respond. Here he was, in your room, being one of your closest best friends, you talking to him (willingly, might I add, because even after all this time, he still can't even fathom how and why you genuinely love spending time with him and being his friend even though you remind the poor boy 24/7😭), and rambling to him about his favorite subject no less! And how it relates to your favorite subject! A combination of niche interests!! He-!
"I'm going to kiss you on the lips, (Y/N)." "Pfft-!" You snorted, the second confession catching you off guard in a flurry of amusement and surprise once again. But this time, he didn't have any excuses to back the claim up. Like, surely, he could easily pass that off as a joke or an intense way to say something along the lines of, "You don't know how much this topic interests me, especially coming from you, and it's making me so excited and happy and I want to talk/hear more."
But at the same time...
"What, like, actually?"
So now, you've presented Freddy with the option to mean it. For real. Which, like...
"I- Uh, like, only if you'd let me or you did it first or something." He laughed boisterously. "I wouldn't just do it without asking, that'd be craz-"
's m o o c h !'
You giggled. You had left some of that white and red behind on his lips.
──────────── •⚡️• ────────────
Okay, beyond this point is just some random other stuff I thought of...
DOING THE MAKEUP!!! Omg the way this boy BEGS you do his face the way you do yours, and girl, lemme tell you, you pop off...! You turned him into the clown-boy of your dreams, call that a Laughing Jack makeover/cosplay.
...*coughs*...ignore that, I had a phase, don't judge me.
Anyways, seriously, I think Freddy would rock the clowncore look so well, especially if you take advantage of his freckles and make them all individually a different color against white/pale foundation.
I also think he teases/flatters you by randomly gifting you trinkets he finds to add to your collection. So dolls he finds in thrift stores, or figurines he saw at a random strip mall shop, things like that.
Hella Harley Quinn discussions ensue, y'all love her.
Kissing him or him kissing you anywhere on the face is always funny because the white/pale foundation will transfer and it's the cutest thing. Or when you hug him and he's wearing super dark or super light clothing so your makeup is just smeared across his shirt and he's looking at you like, "😐" and you're looking at him like, "😕my fault bro🙂."
He also likes to steal some of the dolls/stuffies you might have, so if a clown is missing, you know that he probably has it. Y'all be treating them like your lil' babies, naming them and all😭. He sends you blurry, chaotic, cutsey type pictures of them and it'll have a corny ass caption like, "Jester won't lay down for his nap, I think you might need to come over and cuddle for a bit or something" yk💀.
Him stealing your wigs, too. And just literally any loose/baggy clothes of yours that will fit him. But it's okay bc you do the same with his when you're dressed down for once. He actually is so used to you all clowned up that when you're bare face and in one of his sweaters and shorts, you look like this cute little random girl to him.
"Who are you and what have you done with (Y/N)😧🫵🏻🙊?!" "Dawg😐..."
Ngl he hates sleeping in your room at night. He loves you and all of your quirks, of course. And don't get me wrong, he loves y'all children (the clown dolls n stuff)...but look man, they a lil' scary at night, just staring down at him from the shelves and shit and it freaks him out more than he wants to admit. You have a night light just for him when he stays over, though (it's a jumbo ladybug pillow pet you've had since you were like, eight, but the shit is so bright, it'd be a waste to just throw it out. Plus, it now helps Freddy sleep at night so win-win).
On that topic, bro has been jumpscared so many times bc you play too much and like to place your life-sized dolls around the house. He'll be thinking someone broke in and will be on the b r i n k of saying "Shazam!!" out of total fear before he realizes it's you just fucking with him. And is mad he can't do it back bc you're too used to seeing them💀.
Nicknames!!! Lord, this boy has some many! Just to name a few, "Circus Baby" "Harley" "Funny" As in he'll use it the same way one uses "Pretty". "Hey, Funny, you feelin' okay? Yeah? Okay, good." Also, "The fourth Flying Grayson" which you find pretty distasteful🥴.
If you post on social media, he spam likes and comments on all your post, especially if you make TikToks. He doesn't care what content it is, either. It could be you just talking about your stuff, it could be you posting little scenarios, it could be you showing your makeup routine, you could be making cringey ass thirst-traps for all he cares. You're posting and showing off your style? He's giving you all of his support and love shamelessly. He always does and will💙.
Tumblr media
This was long but that's okay, that's just what I do lol😆.
Sorry again for my long hiatus, y'all. I do be struggling in this economy😔✊🏽. I hope anyone who sees this is doing well, Moon and I love y'all's support so much, it makes our day🫶🏽!

re: DID asks-- 1- what's something you've learned recently (about DID in general, or about your own experience) that has been interesting and that you've been thinking about? 2- any favorite stories (books/movies/etc) that have characters you relate to in a DID/system-ish way, even if they're not canonically "supposed to be" rep?
1- LMAO this question ended up being extremely ironic because I literally was like fuck I don't know, I don't remember, so I went back to look back at old messages and my journal entries and I realized "OH, I wonder if part of the reason my amnesia has been so hidden is because I didn't think I had any memory issues because it's easy to just look back at old messages and journals to try and jog my memory. Which doesn't actually mean I don't have memory problems, I think that was just some kinda coping mechanism to hide those memory problems" lmfao.
Looking back at my recent journal entries, I am reminded that I made the realization that I think I remember my brother making fun of me for having different names on, like, my game save files or something (I particularly feel like I can remember him saying the name Raya in a mocking tone, to make fun of me, which was a name I used in my Pokemon Black 2/White 2 save file as a kid, which I'm now pretty sure was an alter) and it made me realize "oh, well that probably explains at least part of why I have such a difficult time with allowing myself to use different names"
I also wrote down "I wonder if. It’s not so much that I don’t know my alters so much as we are unaware of each other? Like I think we’re just so dissociated from each other and can’t communicate and can’t really share memories that it Feels like and Seems like I don’t know my alters, but I wonder if it’s really just a case of our dissociative barriers being so Goddamn high. I dunno."
2- Frankie Stein from G3 Monster High! I love them so much. They are so systemcore. Their whole thing is being made up of several different, what they call, "brain bits", and there's a whole episode dedicated to Frankie's identity issues because they struggle to be One - they struggle to stick to One outfit or identifying themself in One singular way - and at the end of the episode, them and their friends learn to accept that they are many different Things and that's okay. That episode was so important to me honestly. I have a Frankie Stein alter FNJDASFDS They're so important to me. The struggle to identifying themself in one singular way is something I so deeply have struggled with my whole life and seeing an episode, a character, who struggles so deeply with that, where the resolution is that they ARE several different things, made from several different "brain bits", and that's okay, and it's Awesome actually, did so much for my acceptance of myself.

House party scenes 3/5: Goro and V
Goro feels a little out of place... everywhere really, not just at the party, as I mentioned in that post.
I haven't really come to a conclusion yet about how exactly I want to incorporate him into Vince's canon post-sun-ending. (To my shame I have to admit here, he died in my first playthrough during Search and Destroy cause I was unaware you could actually save him XD I haven't heard his Sun-ending voicemail yet, but I know the rough contents of it and... yeah XD ouch, but also, makes sense).
I just know, deep down, I want him to get his happy ending in a way, too. Takemura is repeatedly shown as impulsive af when he's upset or things don't go the way he's planned, and so I actually want to interpret his angry voicemail to V as that: something he did out of impulse, mad as hell at the perceived betrayal and what it means for him and the Arasakas in the long run, too. I would like him to eventually come around to realize though that there is more to life than blind loyalty and servitude, and V has given him a taste of that life. Like, Goro wasn't born into the corporate world like Vince, and Vince still managed to free himself from it all somehow and is thriving now. So maybe, maybe... I mean, Goro says himself that he sometimes yearns to just leave it all behind, join the nomads, and never look back. And I'd really love for him to that become true in some shape or form, being able to get rid of Arasaka's shackles, and finally find his own way. Better late than never.
And Vince, who deep down for a long time, despite everything, missed his time at Arasaka for a few key reasons, can really deeply relate to Takemura. Like, he is extremely suspicious of him at first, knows that to him he's just an essential asset to his revenge plans against Yorinobu. But he sees a lot of himself in Takemura, as they literally went through the same struggles when they got kicked out, although admittedly Takemura fell from much higher than Vince did. Obviously he's gonna take longer to realize that it was for the better.
I just really love about their relationship that they understand each other, while still not approving of everything the other does. They challenge each others views, and it's this constant back and forth between extending a hand and then being overcome by their own trust issues again, playing themselves more here than the other really, but also learning something about themselves.
After everything has come to an end though, Vince doesn't wanna play anymore and just honestly wants to help Takemura get back on his feet somehow. Be it through returning to Arasaka or maybe, just maybe realizing that he does not have to. That he's free to do whatever he wants to, would he just once not let himself be blinded by his loyalty (which, in and of itself, is not a bad thing).
He wants to be his friend, with no strings attached, no expectations. And that's something Takemura has to cope with and recover from the most in this situation... that someone would want him around just like that, not because he gets a use out of him. Just how Jackie wanted to be Vince's friend, the first true friend he ever had, that didn't just see him as an asset either. Yeah I guess that kinda sums it up quite well... Vince wants to do for Takemura what Jackie did for him, help him get out of that world that almost destroyed him as a person.

Boo Seungkwan x female reader / 601 words / angst / fluff
Warnings: uncomfortable/short stage outfit, uncomfortable staring
⊱ ──────────────────────── ⊰
“Welcome back everyone! Let’s welcome the amazingly talented, Y/N!” Seungkwan introduced you as you came over, politely bowing and waving to cameras that followed you, “Hi Y/N! Please tell us about your new single!” Seungkwan smiled at you as you blushed slightly.
You had always been a fan of Seventeen and meeting Seungkwan, even as a host of a talk show, was a dream come true, “My new album Envy is out now with the title track, Poison. The track talks about the journey a young couple going through a breaking up after one cheats on another. It helps those who need to reflect on what went wrong and how they can be better in the end from it. I hope those who have been in poor relationships can relate and hopefully, it can help those hurting or in need to feel some sort of comfort,” You explained with a shy smile as Seungkwan listed to you intently.
“I loved the pre-chorus. I swear I can’t stop singing it back at the dorms. The guys get annoyed with me every two seconds saying, ‘Yeah Seungkwan, shush you’ve been singing this song for the last 3 days straight.’ or ‘Yeah, just invite Y/N onto your show already to meet her.’ So what did I do? I put a good word in for you,” Seungkwan joked as the two of you laughed.
You had never felt so comfortable on a talk show before, especially with a male host. Usually, they would ogle at you or stare at your legs since your team liked to put you in short skirts for this concept. With Seungkwan, his eyes never averted from yours or the sheets in front of him. He always liked to be respectful and keep his attention on his guests and the topics at hand.
“Oh here, you must be cold Y/N!” Seungkwan suddenly stated as you shook your head no in fear of getting scolded by your team, “It’s okay, I know you are! Don’t worry, she didn’t ask for the blanket, I gave it to her!” He laughed as he eyed your team for putting you in an uncomfortable outfit.
You smiled to yourself, trying to not be noticeable to the cameras. He truly was a sweet guy and you really admired his way of hosting and ensuring his guests felt comfortable. You knew that if he was like this, then the rest of the boys would be similar. The cameras turned off to allow for a break for the two of you.
“Seungkwan, thank you for giving me this blanket. It’s been hard with these promotions since my concept is all badass, which means I have to wear high heels and short skirts. It gets tiring to see random men staring at me. I really appreciate you,” You confessed, feeling your cheeks heat up a bit unintentionally.
Seungkwan smiled at you as he noticed your frame relaxed more than before, “If others, especially your own management gives you a hard time, let me know. I’ll figure out a way to publically ensure you are safe. That’s the easiest way to get management to change. Here,” He gave you a piece of paper, “It’s my number. Give me a call if you ever need anything or just want to get together again.”
The two of you smiled at one another as you heard the director yell to get back into places to resume filming. You were more than happy that you had made a friend today, especially one that made you feel comfortable and could tell already cared deeply about you.

Guess what? I GOT A REQUEST!!
okay, so a roller skater (afab or gn plz) reader who’s also really grunge!
she grew up in the Addison Apartments and is loved by ALL of the residents, despite being a big trouble maker. She first meets Sal when she was going especially fast down a hallway. She was curving deeply on a sharp corner, one which Sal was just about to round by walking, when she slid right into his legs and toppled him over!
ofc, though it hurt, he was nice abt it and they chatted a bit (after the reader apologized profusely) and soon decided to hang out a bit.
so, my request is how do you think their relationship (romantically) would blossom after that?
I’m like half awake and answering this just like a conversation but it functions just normally except the hobbies and dates you guys have are pretty niche at times?? Also gender neutral. I almost always default to gender neutral now.
So I’m an old woman in a 21 year old’s body and I had to look up what grunge is bc I understand it’s,,, an aesthetic? Is it also a subculture?? I think it’s both? I have no idea what’s even in that subculture. After a brief look at Wikipedia’s page on the grunge aesthetic, I guess I can see the two of you going to record stores a lot and having jam sessions very regularly.
Listening to music together is a must. You guys make playlists for each other to introduce different, but similar artists and what have you to one another.
Idk if you’re a smoker or not but I don’t think Sal likes cigarettes. Weed is cool though, yeah he’s always up for getting high. I guess hopelessness and disenchantment with modern society is another part of being grunge??? That often makes it’s way into photography the two of you have.
Will admit I think he’s more “bubbly” than you at times.
Yeah, you guys have a Polaroid wall.
Sal is a good roller skater. That also makes it’s way into dates you guys have.
I can’t help but feel you guys have coordinating outfits at times.
He might have bad pickup lines relating to how the two of you met. He really doesn’t understand why you were roller skating/roller blading? In the hallways though.
Now the two of you get to cause trouble together :]

BUT DON’T YOU PANIC, I’LL GIVE YOU A SATANIC MECHANIC : Shiny vehicles and pretty boys in Kenneth Anger’s cinema
Scorpio Rising (1963)
Kustom Kar Kommandos (1965)
Tumblr media
A month ago, cinema’s greatest magician left the physical realm and as an hommage to Kenneth Anger, I felt obligated to dig into his filmography again. Far from the occult work I’m usually drawn too, it felt like the right time to rediscover his classic film : Scorpio Rising.
My first encounter with this proto-documentary on a group of bikers happened back in 2019, during an experimental cinema course I took at university. While a classroom doesn’t seem like the proper place to fully enjoy, the power conveyed by the beautiful images still managed to take me away. Almost 5 years later, I found myself drawn to this film, moved by an urge to rediscover this experimental piece.
But what is Scorpio Rising about? Like most experimental films, it’s obviously guided by this fantastic quest to look for beauty in the ordinary, to transform simple things into shimmery jewels. Motorcycles shine and become accessories to the bikers. Far from the traditional straight hyper-masculine figures that usually inhabit the world of bikers, Anger follows the group through the prism of homoeroticism - a bedroom full of James Dean’s pictures, leather jackets customised with studs resembling glitters in the distance, men in drag to replace their actual girlfriends. Moving along with the group and the speed of their bikes, Scorpio Rising takes a step back from the polished images and explores an uglier side of those man-machines where torture and church trashing meet the use of Nazi imagery - act of subversion or real political affinity from its actors/characters ? To this day, the film still is an important part of queer cinema and a gay man’s point of view on a 1960’s New York.
Tumblr media
To continue this “automobile double feature”, I picked a short film I hadn’t seen yet : Kustom Kar Kommandos. Abolish the KKK’s white supremacy, hail to the car’s supremacy! This 3-minute long film feels like one of David Cronenberg or Julia Ducournau’s fever dreams with its lush cinematography, full of pinks and reds. Here, the car is the true main character being carefully polished by a guy never seen as a whole. A vehicle almost presented as a woman with the pastel pink background and vulva-like car seats which contrast with the man’s blue outfit. To further this man-machine relationship, the car sports a magnificent shiny body in which the human figure can reflect. The intensive polishing of the metal shapes the machine into a mirror only to cast back the man’s own masculinity. More than in love with his car, he’s in love with the reflection of himself and everything related to a man’s image.
Tumblr media
Mechanic has always been related to masculinity and Kenneth Anger uses the representation of vehicles in his film to define his own of idea of the man : reckless, narcissistic and deeply gay. A man in love with the image of himself reflecting in the body of his car and in love with other men which he keeps picture of in his bedroom.
