BUT THEN! As the competition progresses, the MC spends a lot of time with the prince and other nobles, yes, but also with Maxwell. And Maxwell is a clown-type comic relief character for most of the time, but also genuinely sweet and considerate, and very much on the same wavelength with the equal goofball MC. What for me personally changed the game was when MC and Maxwell dance at a ball together, and the MC can say that there's no one they'd rather dance with than Maxwell. I myself chose that in a completely platonic bestie way. But he gets a bit panicky and says to be careful not to let anyone hear things like that when MC is in the running for the hand of the prince so that no one gets any wrong ideas! And I went "....ideas? 👀"

“Unlike other romancable characters, Maxwell isn't romancable until book 2 (the previous scene is in book 1, each book ~20 chapters), and unlike other romance options, you really have to have your eyes set on him in order to unlock his route, and ohhh it's so worth it! The set-up of falling for the person who brought you there to marry someone else, to choose the jester when you were meant to have the king.... exquisite. 

The dynamic between MC and Maxwell is so fun and full of genuine affection, and while other characters can dismiss Maxwell as an unserious clown, MC is very much characterised by the dialogue as Getting him and loving to express joy in life the same way he does. When MC and Maxwell can finally marry, it feels like they're really choosing their best friend to spend their lives with and are so excited about it.

I know this wrestles in a league multiple times smaller than many of the other combatants, but the Maxwell romance in genuinely one of my favourites in any video game. Give him a chance!”

Jungkook had never worn such an expensive suit in his life. It was more than three times his rent and just being in it made him feel like he was betraying his family. You’re the one who got him this suit anyway, it was a present for his first mini press conference. At first he rejected it, he’s still waiting for the day he can do things for you instead of the other way around but soon he’ll get there. “Yours?” He asked, making you nod, he looked back to where your father had just walked off to me, “Does he really like me? I wanted to impress him so badly but I was so nervous up there. You know I’ve never been in a situation like that.”

oh this was something I was thinking about too. like I don’t even see this as being anything major either. like it’s wasn’t Toto issuing ultimatums or fuck smashing any headphones. he was just skeptical. Lee Heeseung.

The one and only heartthrob between the ladies and my best friend since childhood. I'd watch him collect girls with only one look their way and then drop them as soon as he wasn't interested anymore. I wasn't a big fan of what he does but I couldn't do anything. Throughout the years, becoming closer and closer I couldn't just not devolop feelings for him.

It really was hard not to. I've always had a crush on Lee Heeseung. He was perfect in every way other than the fact that he was a player.

When his long-term girlfriend broke up with him, so sudden that he wasn't expecting it, nor was I, I was with him through his heartbreak. I was always there for him. I was actually so happy he broke up with her, yeah guilt ate me up but it hurt me seeing him with someone that wasn't me. From that night on our bond got bigger, and that's how I painfully watched Heeseung turn into a player.

And every time he felt like he needed someone, no matter the time or the place, with one call from him I would always be there and every time it happens I fall harder and harder to the point where it just hurts. It hurts so bad knowing after the night he would go back to whoring around with girls, not noticing that there's someone that loves him dearly next to him.

And now, here I am. In the middle of the night, in his room. He called, crying and I didn't waste a second getting my keys and driving to his place. I had a spare key so I got in easily and found him in his room, on his bed, with salty tears running down his beautiful futures. I also didn't think twice before rushing over to him and hugging him tight, holding him close as always. I sigh and hold back tears from falling.

"It's gonna be okay." I cupped his cheeks and looked him in the eyes. His bambi, red, swollen eyes sparking in the moonlight. His lips parted as he was catching his breath from all the crying. The urge to kiss him was building up in me but... was it worth the risk? I didn't want to risk anything with him. Our friendship, the bond between us, but it was hard fighting back. Eyes traveling to his lips and with a soft smile I leaned in, capturing his lips with mine.

After a while of him not kissing back he pulled me away as he stood up from the bed. Now tears were building up in my eyes as I also stood up after him. How stupid of me. There goes the person I love...

"Hee I'm so sorry, I-I don't know what go into me." The tears had already fell. His eye staring at me in shock, his tears were now dried but his eyes still glistening. The way he was looking at me I really thought this was the end of our friendship. He didn't say anything, just stared back at my crying self. Please say something please...

And as if he could hear the pleads in my mind, his soft voice spoken up.

"Don't do this Y/n... please." he said as he approached me. I shook my head as I looked down. "I can't Heeseung, I can't hide anymore. Do you know how much it hurts me?" I finally said. He sighed, still looking at me. "Y/n you can't." he says soflty. "Why Heeseung? Tell me. What do they have that I don't?" I ask, trying so hard to not let the tears get in the way of me speaking.

He titled his head at me and smiled. Lifting my chin up with his fingers, I once again stared into his eyes. "You have so much that they don't Y/n." his voice a whisper as he continued. "They're nothing compared to you love. Nothing." "Then why Heeseung...?" I wanted answers. I was desperate.

His tired eyes looking back at me while staying silent for a few moments. "I don't wanna risk it Y/n. Not with you. What if I fuck it up all? What if I'm not enough for you? You're too good for me darling and I can't ruin you." Now he was the one fighting tears back. I let out a small laugh, my cheeks still stained with my tears. "You could never. You're perfect no matter what and I can assure you," I grabbed his cheeks once again. "you could do nothing wrong. Just stop hurting me like this." What I meant with that was: I wanted him to stop being with a different girl everyday.

Nodding his head at me he bought me into a sudden kiss, catching me off guard as a gasp left my lips and onto his. I kissed back, of course, his lips were irrasistable. The kiss was slow and passionate and slowly turned into a makeout session as he guided us to his bed. Me laying on it as he was on top. His hands didn't leave my body and his lips were connected with mine. As our breath was getting shorter and shorter we pulled apart.

"It was all a distraction. I wanted to lose these feelings for you but it's so hard." he caresses my cheek softly. "You're hard to resist." Was the last thing said before his lips found their way on mine again and they won't be leaving anytime soon, that I'm sure of.

hi okay so!! this will be a short summary!!

Vanguard!Tale starts at the very end of the pacifist route. Instead of the barrier breaking, It had stayed completely shut for currently mysterious reasons. Asgore would have normally sacrificed himself so Frisk can pass, however Frisk talked him out of it, as she assured him that she'd find another way.

KEEP IN MIND THE STORY IS STILL PROGRESSING cuz.. everyone who’s part of it is insanely slow.

For the next 7 years, Frisk stays underground. She's now 17, soon to be 18. During this time, War rages out on the surface which further prevents the monsters from leaving the underground. Due to war and the danger of humanity on the surface, The seven souls are currently kept under even heavier containment as Asgore decides what to do. . . The name vanguardtale comes from the fact that Asgore will eventually give 6 monsters one of the 6 souls; So eventually they can go on the surface and not have to worry about being attacked by humans. This is just a lil summary there’s so much more lore :3 but that’s like the jist. As for some of the MAIN characters. . .

FRISK

Frisk starts off as 10 almost 11, but is now 17 and soon to be 18. Unknown to most, She's done numerous genocide runs years before her final Pacifist run, only to be remembered by Chara. She is, at her core, a murderer. But with the power of DETERMINATION, she came to a realization that she has the ability to change who she is. She will always have the urges to start another route, however her willpower to be a better person and change lives is much stronger than the halfhanded urges. She now resides at New Home and has somewhat replaced Sans as "The Judge".

TORIEL

Toriel has remained basically the same with the slight addition of a new nickname; Cari. Even though shes very similar to UT!Toriel, She has become slightly less reserved in fights. She will only kill when provoked by someone who's proven to be irredeemable, in which she will not hesistate or falter. She excells in almost all fields above most monsters, however shes especially skilled in defense. As for appearance, she looks far more royal than before. She wears purple underneath her white cape and white DELTARUNE symbol connecting the jacket/cape together

SANS

Sans, appearance wise.. is the same. Literally the exact same. He's lazy, did you expect much different? However he DID find a "blue heart sticker" that hes worn ever since. (Possible redesign soon) As for personality, he's much more canon than fanon. He will, in fact, NOT push out a blaster at the slightest inconvinience! With Frisk now taking the job of Judge, he's pretty much living carefree.

CHARA

Nope! Chara is not physical as you asked! He’s a ghost and god knows how he ages. Chara HATES Frisk; And that’s alot coming from someone who would kiss the ground she used to walk on. Any route they took, Chara would support. Every genocide she did, Chara was rooting. But eventually something changed. After Flowey had completely given up on trying to stop Frisk; Chara took a step up and began that job. Not because he hates Frisk for what she’s done; but because they’re insanely tired of being in this world. Imagine how many resets of genocide and then some random ass postponed pacifist. Yea, he’s fucking fed up.

the way this answer helped me is like, it helped me realize i dont need to be so regimented i dont need to put all this pressure on myself to create..All that does is feed into self inflicted guilt when i cant live up to my own expectations u.u you see for my whole life i've never been able to plan anything. yes i can think about the next steps i want to take, i can assemble a plan, i can see the logical way forward, but my moods. or like, idek. how to explain..

i cant force anything. if im not feeling it, i cant force it. ive STRUGGLED w this like i dont wanna be this way. because my feelings i cant predict. like for example i worked on music all winter because thats what i was feeling. then suddenly in march i just like, wasnt feeling it all of a sudden. As soon as it hit me i was like Fy767*T&UG*** because i didnt know when it was gonna come back. i still dont know!! im just trying to be patient waiting it out..in the mean time i have suddenly become enthused with drawing again after not ~feeling~ drawing for most of 2023. sometimes i go for weeks where i dont take a single photo and then suddenly it starts flowing again.. my website was also left untouched for most of 2023 until recently.

thats just one example of this repeating pattern in my life that i didnt understand for so long. theres years of my 20s where i couldnt feel passion for anything at all, looking back now i believe those times i was meant to be focusing on stuff in my psyche that needed healing to clear out some headspace for art. and this bjork quote put a lot into perspective it showed me how to reformulate my thinking to be more accomodating to my disposition. when i'm patient & kind w myself, take each day as it comes, let go of the imaginary pressure, let go of "the future", stuff starts to come thru easier.

and maube its gonna show up in ways you dont expect but its true that the mundane world offers so many ways to practice being creative & giving u stuff to weave into the art u want to create.. every water fall starts w a single drop its trueits true :] thats my advice i spose i really didnt meant to write this much but im boooored.. actually my nighttime boredom writing is one of those habits i never considered to b creative until very recently. there's so many small & automatic things we do that can lead to a meaningful life & purpose.

honestly i agree about going for money in life cause rich ppl get to do so much but us average folk are like too average to have a lavish lifestyle as theirs. heck id even do music if i had any talent not just for money but the things these groups get to do nowadays versus what life was like before social media came about is a huge difference. sometimes its just a matter of being either too old or not young enough to do something like that nowadays as most music groups seem to sadly be getting younger and younger, i also feel like for those who have actual talent honestly id just go for it but theres always smth like age or different circumatances or perhaps not getting the right opportunities either or being somewhat limited in options. i do think life gets to a point where theres fewer options the older you are as its best to learn from a young age in order to succeed and gain that money. idk these are just my opinions you can disagree if you want.

so many folk fretting about fs and whatnot when they really never tried being single like theres not much responsibility besides whoever else is in your life and again honestly i do not think it matters if we do or dont date an fs. i think people were fretting about jungkooks fs so much lately bc they didnt want to be single or wanted jk for themselves and even if idols do date it would never make their fans happy for their idols which is sad

Hello! So, I don't remember when I said "going for rich people is a good plan" or whatever but I mean there's points to both sides. To accumulate that wealth you need to be willing to put the hard work in, even if you marry into it. If you're a child of a wealthy family, you need to put in the work to maintain that wealth and legacy. It's a chain of hard work - I personally think you can do anything whether you're old, young, etc. It's just a matter of your mindset and how much work you're willing to put in! These days, it's mainly more about the connections you have and the hard work you put in. Social media can make you famous/popular, but it cannot single-handedly generate millions unless your life goal is to be an influencer doing TikTok dances 5 times a day for a living. I think learning certain skills (e.g. budgeting) are important and can help you establish that wealth earlier on, but you can always teach yourself. I have no prior experience owning a business, but the skills I learned throughout daily tasks over the course of my life have helped me to reach a point where an idea is starting to blossom into an actual product. And I agree, being single gives you more time to work on yourself to allow people to enter your life without the situation feeling forced. You get to become more comfortable with yourself, you make life-long connections/friendships, you develop hobbies, stories to tell your future friends, etc. It's a time to establish yourself and experience personal growth when you're single, not stress over finding a new relationship!! I think each relationship, friendship, etc brings a life lesson alongside it - so it doesn't matter whether that person is the person you intend to marry or not. Just enjoy the present without panicking about the future, that's the best advice I can think to tell everyone as well as my past self <33 It is quite sad, a lot of idols seem lonely. Jackson Wang is a prime example of this, he's expressed this loneliness a lot. Idols have the right to be happy without their "fans" criticising them for wanting a future where they have a family or just aren't dancing on stage anymore. That is quite narrow-minded, I think it'd be better if netizens and delusional international fans took a break from Kpop content for a month and got some hobbies, worked on themselves and enjoyed life for a bit. To an extent, I do pity some idols FS that I read for. They seem very closed off/introverted and would not do well if the relationship were to get leaked to the media, especially if their information is also leaked and they are a non-idol. I just hope they will be alright and fans will be more accepting sooner or later ! Idols ideal types may not always be the kind of people they'll marry - but they do definitely know what they like in a person. Fans do need to accept that the most likely case is that it is not them! However, the industry thrives off of parasocial relationships. It's fine, no worries! (okay reposting bc tumblr autosave deleted a lot of my post </3 rip) on a slightly more depressing note do you ever think about how terrible mac is at taking care of things specifically in a parental context and get so sad because i do. mac as a person isnt inherently bad at taking care of things, he's fairly good at taking care of dennis (although his own insecurities and paranoias do negatively impact the relationship) and from what we see in the show he does the majority of homemaking work in the macden household and is generally pretty good at taking care of their apartment (unless it's on fire). but as soon as he reframes a relationship as a parental one he cant seem to figure it out.

the most obvious example of this is when he and dee take care of D.B/dumpster baby. now, character conflict is pretty par for the course for shows doing the "two characters adopt a baby" trope. however, in most shows ive seen it done, the progression is typically slower and/or more natural, from either a disparity in labour between maternal and paternal figures (often with the paternal figure slowly checking out and doing less and less work), or from one character being shoved into a role they didnt want. "the gang finds a dumpster baby" uses both of these, but what makes it interesting to me is how quickly and deliberately mac incites that conflict.

he seems eager and excited to take care of the baby and volunteers immediately, but as soon as he and dee get home from baby shopping he shoves everything off on her and becomes emotionally distant and angry when she tries to ask for help. this change in attitude is sudden and seemingly brought about by nothing in particular, he hasnt yet experienced anything that might make him realize that taking care of a baby is actually a pretty demanding job that he might not be interested in, and to me, at least, it doesnt read like he's genuinely annoyed at her or rejecting his self imposed paternal role. instead, he's still just play acting at what he thinks fatherhood should look like. he's still trying to give D.B his version of a "biblical" nuclear family, like he says he wants to when he pressures dee into taking on the maternal role, but he's using his own parents as a model for this and deliberately recreating the toxic environment he grew up in because he thinks that's how you're meant to raise a child.

it's also really interesting to me that he chose dee for this. mac and dee don't team up a lot, and when they do, it's typically because everyone else is off doing something else. sure, he's adamant that D.B needs to be raised by a man and a woman, and dee is the only woman in the gang, but he doesn't even consider trying to find D.B a mom outside of the gang.

given how he seems repulsed by dee in both a romantic and sexual context and in a nuclear family the dynamic between the mother and father is typically both, and given their platonic dynamic is strained as it is, this is odd. there are plenty of single women in philadelphia, and there are other women in mac's own life he gets along with a lot better (and who do/would make better mothers), like carmen (who hes on good enough terms with that they engage in a relationship just a bit later in the season).

to me it seems like he chose someone like dee, who he doesn't get along with very well, who has both anger and emotional intimacy issues, and who emphatically rejects motherhood when he thrusts it upon her, not because he thinks she's his only option, but because shes the person he thinks is most likely to behave like his own mother in that position. (little bit of gay mac meta here, it also feels like maybe he chose a woman he had a distinctly platonic dynamic with and who wouldnt expect anything else from him so as to avoid needing to have a sexual or romantic relationship with his female partner in this constructed family)

theres also of course the dynamic between dennis jr, mac, and dennis in mac and dennis move to the suburbs. admittedly this one is a lot less interesting to me because the parallels to his own parents are less intentional on mac's part, however i do have some thoughts about it. here, he takes on the maternal role. dennis, from his own and the audiences perspective, isnt helping "raise" dennis jr at all and isnt really involved here. however, from macs perspective, dennis is taking on a paternal role, not necessarily because of, but also not in spite of the fact that he's away for most of the day, emotionally distant, and doesnt seem to be helping take care of or even interacting with dennis jr on a regular basis.

granted, mac isn't taking care of dennis jr either. despite seeming excited to "raise [the dog] like [his and dennis'] own son", he's despondent and neglectful, much like his own mother, and dennis jr. starves to death. from what we see of his mother on the tape from mac's childhood in "a very sunny christmas", she, like mac, wasn't always dull. although we dont really see her interact with mac and i have no doubt that she was a subpar mother and person for all of mac childhood (she is more than complicit in the robbing of peoples homes in this same episode), she has more normal emotional responses to things like receiving a gift, and she appears to genuinely like luther. i dont think its too much of a stretch to assume that she, like mac, let her emotional issues with an absent or distant partner interfere with her role as a parent. the only difference is that mac, unlike dennis jr, is a human child who is presumably old enough to do the bare minimum to keep himself alive by the time she checks out.

anyways sorry this post kind of got away from me. it just makes me so sad. mac wants to be a parent but he has no real frame of reference for that, he wants so badly to take care of something but he cant help neglecting it because to him it seems normal that parents shouldnt need to take care of their child, that children should have to care of themselves. hes so adamant that his relationship with his parents is normal, healthy, and loving that he'll ruin even a pale mimicry of a family trying to recreate it.

Want to get my powers now, if thats the solution for me to be with them.", his voice still continues in a soft broken tone. "If that can make me fight for them too, protect them.. if you could say that so" He looks down voice becoming more quieter

"well, your not alone arent you?" Tok aba's voice made him look up at the elder

"im here, and i will be here" Tok says with open arms, Cahaya gave in and hugged him

"oh my grandson, despite creating a tough exterior, your still the same child as you once were" Atok spoke while softly combing the younger's hair

"im not." He buried his face unto atok's chest

"all of you are still the same, yes, your all more matured now, but still as vulnerable as back then" Tok Aba continued
