Any thoughts on the recent hullabaloo in Army twt BPP? In my heart of hearts I’m hoping for a live album of their greatest hits at concerts.

I think it’s a lot more likely than a whole ass new album with new songs. Would bangtan want to release songs they couldn’t perform (that isn’t tied to commercials/soundtracks)? Idk. But I’m hoping it isn’t a pop up merch of some sort. This is too intricate for it to be one imo based on how they’ve done those in the past.

Ah… Anon, you spoke to one of my deepest hopes with your mention of a live album of their greatest concert performances. Another alternative a friend mentioned is it’s a stripped back/remix album of their best songs starting with HYYH.

But my expectations are the reverse of yours I think.

I’m assuming Monochrome is just a merch drop… because despite the elaborate rollout, this to me still somehow feels like a merch drop. Some reasons:

(1) Perhaps I have low expectations of BigHit, but BTS members are still going to release albums this year and I don’t see BigHit choosing to handle an OT7 album project alongside all the solos when they somewhat struggled do so last year for just solo projects. So, rather than an album of remixed or live music, even if old music, we might get something more along the lines of a game/app, film or merch product. I do hope for music but my expectations are low.

(2) While not similar to how they’ve teased merch drops in the past, it’s still not exactly similar to how they’ve teased new comebacks in the past. You usually hear an element of the music or a clear indication it’s an album very early on in the process. That’s so far not happened yet.

(3) I generally like to keep my expectations low for things like this. New music from OT7 Bangtan is a need but I won’t believe it until I see it. I don’t want to jinx it.

I KNOW IT'S NOT THE SAME but the fact that its the same design, a ring strung on a chain, and a tab shaped pendant... it's jikook coded for sure.

And another thing... the pop up location in Tokyo... isn't that the escalator that they are going down in that scene in GCF Tokyo? The Tokyo pop up will be where Jimin and Jungkook filmed GCFT. See that mirror-y stuff on the sides?
