dune, frank herbert

boy oh boy, lets get into this.

this was such a great novel, where do i even begin on this one. though it did take me well over a month to finish this, due to the fact it was overly confusing and also there is a lot of language which is only found throughout dune. though so unbelievably well written, especially for its time of when it was published.

we are met with paul and jessica, mother and son who are contradicting all means of the bene gesserit law (well, in this sense their female only religion which isn't very friendly). then leaving on a task, which paul is left in charge of [which in reality is some sort of test for him to be able to get his freemans name of usal] - sEE what i mean when this book is just so confusing there is so much to keeee[ up with. but really worth it and worth my time in the end! so I'm so glad that i did take the time to read the whole thing.

if you have the patients as well as have a love for science fiction novels, like me, i would highly recommend this novel! its not easy, but once you're able to grasp whats going on and follow on with the story line its super interesting! which in the end made it ha for me to put down!

so for me, id given this a 4.25 on my storygraph ♡ [and a solid 4 on GR]

「TR Casual Fashion Illustrations」translations, part 2

Even though all of these are from Character Book 2 (the first and third book didn’t have anything like this), a couple of season 1 characters are featured too. Just these guys!

Hanma Shuji

- Doesn't care that much about fashion

- Basic white knit sweater (likes having a hood)

- Black denim coat

- Black narrow pants

- Sandals

- When it's cold, he goes with combat boots

Hanemiya Kazutora

- Likes looking tough

- Just about the same fashion sense as Pah-chin and Peyan

- Likes shirts with a wide open neck (wants to show off his tattoo)

- Since his skin is sensitive, he takes off the tags in the back right away

- Likes loose jackets that look all disheveled

- Loose pants, likes wearing them with the waistband looking like it's about to fall down

- Chinese-style flats with the soles worn out, they're like that because he likes to drag his feet when walking

I know its probably unrealistic for such a small pet shop, but I like to think that in addition to Baji being a vet, Chifuyu or Kazutora are also pet groomers.

Like they have a whole seperate part of the pet store which is in the back and the back is divided into a grooming and a healthcare section.

Especially since we know for sure they are the kind of people to pick up strays. That means theyd have to have a history of getting matts out of fur.

Plus, if your pet has fleas, Baji would be able to treat them and Kazutora (who I've decided is doing the grooming) would be able to help ensure the fur is properly maintained and the pet is washed in defleaing stuff.

Baji is the vet (canonically).

Chifuyu who works out front and deals with the customers and sells all the food, treats, beds, toys, ect.

And Kazutora, who doesn't want to deal with stressful customers and so instead he stays in the back and grooms animals.

At least for a while.

Though he didn't feel the same way

He finally found you attractive only for you to get fatter and for your stomach to enlarge.

To him you look disgusting.

The child will probably be disgusting like you.

You irked him so much.

In public he denies the fact he slept with you.

So how did you get pregnant?

You slept with someone else of course

Which just reduced your public image

When your water broke he just left you with the doctors.

To him, why should he see someone so disgusting give birth.

In the end your plan didn't work because the next day he filed for a divorce.

so a non-welcome home related ask and i'm sorry if you already answered this before, but what got you into dragons? i'm slowly stalking through your tumblr and i can't help but admire how beautifully and effortlessly you draw the scaley fuckers (/pos) ✨

i've actually never gotten this question, so this is a delight! allow me to Overshare about this

i became interested in dragons at an early age - like, kindergarten / 1st grade age. i don't remember exactly how it started, but i think it was my fascination with dinosaurs, oddly enough? i've loved those guys since some of my earliest memories. it wasn't a big leap from "giant 'lizards' from our past" to 'even bigger mythological 'lizards' from always". the Hobbit and the first Temeraire (im trying to get my hands on the full series now actually) were read to me at this young age too, and the only parts i remember are the big dragon scenes lmao

i do know the ball Really got rolling with the first How To Train Your Dragon movie, which i saw in theaters in 2nd grade. INSTANT obsession with dragons. i'll never forget how it felt to see Toothless for the first time. but in general, i couldn't get enough of em. i made my own dragon manual, i got the Dragonology books, it was the whole enchilada!

then in 5th grade, i stumbled upon the newly released Wings Of Fire: The Dragonet Prophecy book! immediately fell in love with it. and its what pushed me to start actively pursuing art! and also what pushed me into my first online space: ~Deviantart~. i saw all of the amazing art of my favorite dragons and wanted in on it. i can actually pinpoint the main person who's art i loved and found inspiration in: someone named Liighty! i don't remember their user, it's probably changed in the many years since. i loved their stuff and wanted nothing more than to be able to draw like them

long story short, i've been in love with dragons for the majority of my life. HTTYD and WOF have been my biggest inspirations and fuel to the fire, and my first delve into the internet pushed me to start drawing dragons (specifically wof) like my life depended on it. i haven't looked back since!

#and thank you <3 scribbling them does not feel effortless in the least <3 they fight me at every turn <3 #and it has taken me so so long to get where i am in terms of skill. i still have a long ways to go but my fucking god #also i do not Ever mind non-welcome home asks ahaha #this blog isnt technically a WH blog! thats just my main fixation at present #eventually ill chill the fuck out and go back to primarily posting dragons / original creations #eventually....#not anytime soon given that The Update is soon and that'll just rev me the fuck up but yk yk #rambles from the bog #i should dig through all of my old sketchbooks for a trip down memory lane...#i still have my very first one. ive havent thrown a single one away #in fact i should have some of my first wof drawings somewhere round here....#i like archiving my artistic journey #but yeah! httyd dragonology and wof! my historic big three!#i actually own every single one of the wof books (except for the latest) and they have their own shelf #my original copy of the first book is still there. in a plastic bag. bc its been loved to hell and back & half of it is falling off #and its not just books lmao i have so much dragon Stuff #trinkets and plushes and pictures (oh my!)#my room is Decked Out in em #theyre just so neat...#started from the bottom and now im here (so many worldbuilding documents and endless sketch pages. and brainrot)

I have a new English Saint-Just biography book rec: Geoffrey Bruun's "Apostle of the Terror." I quite enjoy his approach and writing style. I resonated with his introduction bit about relating to SJ because of my young age. I truly do think our similar age has a large part in shaping my interpretation of Saint-Just. Imagine going on a book shopping date with Rindou. He gives me the vibe of someone who is a bit pretentious, but if he is away from Ran, I bet you could have a solid and fascinating conversation with him about the latest environmental book he just read. Rindou loves causing chaos and exploring the world, he doesn’t want it to end because of global warming. He probably reads some fancy philosophical books, and at first is a touch annoying and full of himself, but then he turns more introspective and quiet. The conversation takes an almost devastatingly dark turn, and you’re able to learn more about him and the way his brain thinks. You also learn more about yourself and the values you have. After sitting in numbed silence for a solid three minutes, you finally burst out with a “So… you read any romances? Anything spicy?” Anything to get that lost look off of his face. Rindou teases you at the word spicy until he admits that yes, he has. It turns out that he not only has read some spicy romances, he *loves* spicy romances… as long as he can keep them away from his friends and Ran ever finding out. The conversation dissolves into giggles and laughter tears as he questions you on what the fuck a “sexy growl” is, and then he promptly proceeds to give his best attempt. It was not in the least bit sexy, you might have been turned on. Ever the gentleman and one to spoil his date, he offers to buy your books… but caps you off at five when he sees the stack you’ve started to build. But honestly, even if he hadn’t offered to buy you some books, the conversation alone was enough for you to want another date and to read more about what makes Rindou, Rindou.
