IN A SENSE GROOVY A CARD YOU HAVE TO GET ANOTHER COPY OF IT THRU THE EVENT #and when Ashi woke up after cramming ranking because of the whole book 6 fiasco #she found out that she ranked 4.1%. cause i see the words on the page, read each word in my head, and simultaneously see it all play out like a movie inside my head, but im recently finding out that not everyone subvocalizes and it's tripping me up

#i know it's like a whole thing that subvocalizing means you read 'slower' but first of all reading slower isn't a bad thing #and second of all I've still read 109 books so far this year so it's obviously not a problem for me #also to be clear: im not at all looking for tips to do speed reading bc i don't care to do that so pls don't offer them #i love the way i read and im not looking to change it #it might be the writer in me but i really love reading every word individually and seeing how they knit together #and how the author decided to use them. i think it's beautiful #text post #okay to reblog

andor's colors are red and white, in eotw the opposing factions in caemlyn are red (pro-morgase/white tower) and white (anti-morgase/tower), in tsr gawyn chooses red (elaida/tower) and galad chooses white (whitecloaks/anti-tower)..............gawyn and galad really are complementary characters who parallel and foil each other

#meanwhile elayne chooses a secret third side #you all probably made these connections 10 years ago but i'm feeling very 'i've connected the dots.jpg' atm djfkg #the trakand bros are rife with story potential and i felt the books underused them big time #(they each only have like 1-2 books of having a proper storyline and otherwise just crop up for occasional scenes)#the show needs to make them beefed-up secondary characters a la liandrin and alanna #(not that i WANT more galad time but i admit it's necessary)#speeding up the pacing of egwene's post-LOC storyline will help gawyn massively #and the show's already established a stronger whitecloak storyline setup than the books had this early which should help galad #when i picture galad arriving to interact with show!valda and dain i actually feel a spark of interest in the whitecloak storyline!#wot #wot book spoilers #gawyn trakand #galad damodred #the wheel of time

Eternally grateful that Cressida Cowell didn’t involve a romantic subplot in the How To Train Your Dragon series.

#no time for romance just adventures at break neck speed #(but seriously. because there are some romantic threads—Fishlegs has a crush here or there #camicazi is implied to have a thing for hiccup. maybe.#and a sprinkling with HH the hero #but nearly all of the story is focused on the adventures and the near misses and the friendship #hiccup doesn’t have or ever try to find a romantic partner. he has his friends and they’re all he needs to be happy.#and I really love that.#a part of the reason I think why it feels so timeless is because this is almost set at a time in a kid’s life #before crushes. before everything gets bogged down by expectations of love and you just get to be #I can go back to that moment through these books #it’s precious to me)#httyd books #my post
