Emergency Commission Sales
I- don’t know where to begin.
This started as a vet bill fund, but now the situation is just- so much worse, because when I arrived at work yesterday, I was told I am being let go. They were extremely unclear as to why exactly, but as I live in an at-will state, it doesn’t really matter.
I have no job, a massive vet bill to pay, a wisdom tooth coming in, and a car with no heat going into winter.
I don’t really know what I’m going to do beyond the immediate coverage of vet bills, because I submitted over 140 applications with no response before I finally heard back from this place- there are just more people looking for jobs than there are jobs remotely near where I live, but I can’t afford to survive, much less move.
Financial Details:
One of my cats has one, possibly two abscessed teeth that need removed. I paid $260 for a vet visit, blood work, and antibiotics. I got the quote for what surgery will cost this morning, and they are estimating between $1,175 - $1,715, depending on if he needs both teeth taken out or just one.
I have been putting off my own wisdom tooth removal while I saved up for it, because it will cost $1,100
I don’t know how much it will cost to fix the heat in my car for winter.
My monthly expenses are $460/month because the cost of my medication has gone up after my sliding scale application was denied. I still have to pay $380 of those monthly expenses for November.
As of now, if I forgo my own dental care entirely, and empty my savings entirely, that will still leave me -$851 in the red. Anything that does not go to covering this month’s expenses and Severus’s vet fees will go to either next month’s expenses, or to saving for my own dental needs.
I will be figuring out a more sustainable plan over the next few days, but my current focus is on the immediate issue in front of me.

Those of you who have followed me from the beginning of my fanfiction career will know that I’ve always loved writing Alternate Universe or “AU” fics. Taking characters we all know and love and plopping them into completely different settings and scenarios has always been more fulfilling to me as a writer than sticking within the confines of canon. That’s why something like the AU-gust 2022 Challenge was so much fun for me to do—it’s already something I’m familiar with and enjoy.
However, the big downside of AUs is that it’s much easier to lose focus of the characters the story is supposed to be about and end up writing original characters that happen to look the same. I’m plenty guilty of this. Though I always appreciate my readers telling me how strong my characterizations are, when it came to Pride & Justice, the fic I wrote for Day 9 of AU-gust ’22, I really felt myself deviating. The piece was short, written in a single day, and within the constraints of the Angels & Demons prompt, so it didn’t bother me too much. What did end up bothering me was how much the idea stuck in my head, shouting for my attention weeks after I’d written and posted it. When concepts linger around for that long, I know I can’t just abandon them to rot.
The thing is, I knew right away I didn’t want to make it a full-fledged multi-chapter fanfiction. To quote my own AO3 author’s note, the characters I wrote were “OCs in blorbo meatsuits.” Trying to turn something like this into a fanfiction would feel disingenuous—it’s not what my fanfiction audience is here to see, and it’s not fair to my creative drive that clearly wanted to write something original, but would be constrained by the flimsy barrier of fandom that I forced it to uphold. Really, I don’t think it would have held up as a fanfiction. I decided to take a different route, and begin the process of turning it into an original idea for a novel.
A lot of people disparage fanfiction writers turning their ideas into original works, and I think the reasons for outcry are often misguided. Yes, “filing the serial numbers off,” the most common method for publishing a fanfiction as an original work, consists of doing very little outside of changing the names of the characters and some light editing to make sure the plot stays the same. Yes, fanfiction and genre writing are different mediums with different rules. While fanfiction can be structured the exact same way as an original manuscript, it’s very rare. But fanfiction is a genuine artform, a medium for telling a story. Just as a book can be adapted for screen, or a movie can be adapted for the stage, a fanfiction can be adapted for an original work. You just have to treat it like what it is: an adaptation.
I thought I would document my process here, give you a behind-the-scenes tour, of how I’m turning Pride & Justice: the fanfiction into Pride & Justice: the novel. You may have already seen hints of this on my Tumblr, but I’m going to go much deeper than moodboards and backstories here.

Askbox will always remain open! You're all welcome to drop by for chitchat, to drop prompts, theories, heartcanons... And remember, this blog is not spoiler free!
Asks are not answered in order, I generally go straight for those who catch my eye and delete those I don't want to reply.

This blog takes requests for all KH games! But please, specify which version of the character you'd like for me to write, such as using their proper names (ie: Isa, instead of Saix) and from the specific game (ie: BbS Isa, KH3 Isa). Otherwise, I'll write for their most recent versions!
You're also welcome to request for TWEWY/NEO TWEWY, plus Final Fantasy 15! I've decided to drop FF7 and it's remake due to lack of interest on those games from my part.

Reader based prompts will always use gender neutral pronouns and be as vague as possible, so that everyone can feel included. The only exception to this are LGTBQ+ prompts (ie: Larxene comforting a dysphoric S/O, Sora reacting to you coming out as a lesbian, etc)
Any requests asking for general female or male readers will be ignored and deleted!
IV.
When requesting a specific type of reader, please refrain from using characters from other media as reference (ie: a reader who acts like Nagito Komaeda from Danganronpa).
I'm not in every fandom, nor I know every character ever, or what traits you're hoping to see - it's much easier if you describe exactly what you're looking for! Don't be afraid to send two asks if it's too long.
V.
You can request up to 6 characters per ask! The only exception to this is the Organization XIII, because I love them to death!
The length of the post varies and depends on inspiration and number of characters!
VI.
You're free to send in your own [Heartcanons] - a cute term for KH headcanons about the game and characters. To diferentiate them from general chitchat, make sure to add [Heartcanon] at the beginning of the ask!
These will be queued and post on Mondays, if there's any left around in the askbox! I also invite people to go feral discussing, rambling and even adding to our posts with your reblogs or in the replies! It's so fun to get together and talk about these blorbos!

Hello, I’m Hesperos! Aside from being a writer, I’m also an artist and worldbuilder. I currently live in the United States. My pronouns are they/them, and I consider myself both transgender and non-binary.
Of all the genres, I enjoy fantasy most, followed by sci-fi. I worldbuild and create conlangs as a hobby, though one day I hope to turn it into a career path.
I primarily participate in Storyteller Saturday, Blorbo Blursday, and Worldbuilding Wednesday, as well as reblog various ask games. However, I'm open to virtually all asks, so feel free to drop by.

Between social pressure to conform and her own budding feelings for one of the fae, will she be able to keep the peace of her land? Or will all dissolve into mayhem and strife once again?

The overarching themes may change over time as I work further on the story and its plot, but as it currently stands, it contains:

(Though there are hints of romance in the summary and ultimately in the story itself, it takes a relative backseat to the rest of the themes. Arêllan ve Povunra Aelisâm is a young elf growing up on the isolated western coast of Aeros, after their family was banished from the capital of Maêla nearly fifty years ago. On the cusp of 29 years old, their mother declares they are to be adopted into the esteemed and ancient family of Llanaere and live in the capital until they come of age. Without a chance to refuse, they find themself navigating changes to customs and traditions, family dynamics, and discovering secrets meant to be left alone. Can they bond with the Llanaeres in the bountiful opportunity of the capital, or will they find themself unmoored and adrift?

The protagonist is a child, and in their culture, children are referred to as exclusively gender neutral regardless of biological sex, until they come of age. They may also be read as non-binary/transgender by reader preference.

re: your tags on the post defending people being dramatique about reblogs; whoever ghosted you over that is a dick, but also there has GOT to be a happy medium between "fuck you if you don't reblog everything you feel positively about" and "fuck you for asking for reblogs" like omg, tumblrinas plz, i am begging for like half an ounce of nuance i know this is the internet but please for the love of the blorbos stop the madness *headdesk*
I mean, yeah, I don't actually think guilt/shame is a good motivation for engaging with fandom, for a lot of different reasons, and tbh the overall tone of the post I just reblogged is probably more abrasive or something than what I've reblogged before or said myself. I mostly just reblogged this one because apparently I can't get over how hurt I feel over the whole basically-being-ghosted-by-a-long-term-friend thing (especially given that it made me feel really insane in a specifically neurodivergent way, like, "either I have massively misinterpreted literally everything about this relationship for years because I fundamentally don't understand friendship or social interactions in general, or you didn't mean anything you said to me, or you changed the rules at some point and didn't tell me").
but it's also just...deeply frustrating that even the mildest posts saying "if you don't do some very basic things to support the fanworks you like, you will start seeing a lot less of those fanworks, because those creators will get discouraged and stop producing it" gets categorized as whining or guilt-tripping when it isn't, it's literally just describing cause and effect. there are other posts scolding fan creators for expressing that discouragement or asking for a little damn engagement because we just want to feel like we're part of a community, all of which just contributes to the atmosphere of discouragement.
and it feels increasingly bizarre to me the more time I spend on Instagram, following all kinds of artists and small businesses, all of whom talk a lot about how important engagement is to what they do and how much their work lives and dies by The Algorithm and how crucial it is for people to take a few seconds and boost stuff they like because otherwise it just gets lost to the void, and I don't see the same backlash there of "well you should just be satisfied with creating for yourself, you shouldn't worry about stats, stop whining for attention, stop guilt-tripping people," whatever. granted, it's a different matter when there's money involved, because with a small business whose only source of advertising is social media, we're talking about someone's actual livelihood, but there's a huge amount of crossover with literally any artist--fanartist or otherwise--given that loads of them do also have Patreons or Ko-fi links or shops with physical items, or maybe they don't start out that way but when they build an audience organically they're able to bring in some actual money. and I've definitely seen people who aren't primarily selling things, who really are just producing art as a hobby, but still ask people to share their stuff because it encourages them to make more, and that seems to be seen as perfectly legitimate, except on Tumblr and also Reddit. fanfic is a little different because it's inherently an extremely bad idea to monetize, so there isn't the angle of "of course you want to share this so your favorite writer can keep food on the table!" but it doesn't seem like a huge stretch to say it follows a similar principle, right? if you like it, it just makes sense to support it in some small way, because then you're more likely to keep getting it? and if you don't make any effort to support it, then you can't complain when you stop getting it? (making this very basic point got me downvoted on r/Fanfiction because of course it did.)
and, I don't know, I personally get really discouraged begging for reblogs, and it would feel a lot better if I didn't have to. not even just my own fic (although, yes, especially that), but original posts about helpful resources or awesome Kickstarters or fic recs or cool free games or "hey this artist is doing charity commissions, look at their awesome art, please reblog so they can raise money for this important cause" mostly just all kinda fall into the void. not that I'm at all unique in that respect, obviously; anyone who doesn't have a big audience deals with that frustration (while people who do have big audiences get to deal with different problems, as I understand it, although I certainly wouldn't know from experience). it just sucks, you know?

This is my writing side blog.
You can call me quill, or meraki, and I use any pronouns. I have a WIP in the very early stages atm, so I'll be posting about that, maybe some fanfiction, other snippets of writing I come up with, and maybe some little poems and things. We'll see.

I've been playing Magic The Gathering for quite a few years now, and ive just started playing DnD.
I read A LOT, mostly YA Fantasy and Science fiction, but never afraid to branch into other genres.
I play a lot of games too, my favs being Assassin's Creed, Zelda Botw, Skyrim and Subnautica.

Trego (placeholder name)
Trego is my main WIP, a fantasy story with a lot of world building and very little writing done so far. This is in the very early stages. It takes place on a continent called Trego, ruled by dragons. Three different factions war secretly over the continent, unbeknownst to it's citizens.
Firefly
Firefly features two of the side characters from Trego, Shrike and Aqu, as they meet for the first time, with the continent in shambles around them. This is more romance based, and is probably the furthest along in terms of plot of the three. It is a prequel to Trego.
Raye

These are the vows of the dragonborn clan Gestralkj, recited every day at 12 a.m sharp. Gestralkj Raye has long since memorised these words, saying them every day since she could talk. But what will happen when these vows are put to the test? And what happens when the vows you've lived by since you were born no longer ring true?
Follow Gestralkj Raye as she flees her clan after a disastrous 15th birthday and journeys in search of herself, and of the courage to have her own Name.
Raye is based on my dnd 5e character.

A humongous project of each of my flight rising's dragons back stories. It begins with my progens, and slowly spreads outwards to the meaningful points in each dragon's lives. Might make a sideblog for this at some point.

Hi
I just started following, but I would like an Arcane match-up (male character), if it's alright? I binged it 2 weeks ago after my brain decided it needed new blorbos
I am 26, she/her, nickname JCat. 155.5 cm tall (or a little over 5'1), fair-skinned with moles (but I call them [human] sum spots) stocky build and with fluff (I am a good pillow according to the animals and children that have fallen asleep ob me). Medium-length blonde hair and blue-gray eyes with green around the pupils. Wear glasses and have really poor eyesight (near-sighted)
Personality-wise: in character comparison, I am a genderbent, human Toothless from HTTYD, or a combo of Steve Rogers/Captain America and Loki from the MCU (or Phil Coulson if you've seen Agents of Shield). To clarify, I am a pretty friendly and easy-going person, with a streak of mischief. I tend to be a mom-friend in a sense that I make sure that my friends take care of themselves and give good advice (compliment from my friends). While mostly someone who entertains, I can be quite the trickster should the need arise. But I often try to stay within my morals and make sure I don't intentionally hurt those on my side.
While very good with kids (which is why my mom got me working at a daycare for about 3 years) I don't want my own, due to fear of pregnancy and my driven need to venture out and explore the world. But when it comes down to it, I'd probably adopt an orphan if I've taken a big liking to them.

Likes include: mythologies, animals, cuddles, adventures, sci-fi, magic/fantasy, plushies, D&D (or any Pen and Paper); LOTR, MCU, HTTYD, Star Wars, and Pokemon are my big main fandoms. I adore the A Capella group Voiceplay.
Dislikes: people being taken advantaged of, narrow minded people...well just people being negative, neglectful, and/or abusive towards each other and nature
A few last notes: I have depression and anxiety, social introvert, neutral good alignment (with some chaos), INFP, Ennegram Type 7.

Hi there! Could you describe your mutuals as songs?
Hello to you too, anon! Unfortunately, most of the music I listen to is either lo-fi or songs that were recommended to me (Love Grows and Lemon Drop are fantastic, thank you Bloom and Mori!), so I don’t really have the variety of music to equate with my mutuals. I will instead provide an alternative: I write a setting that gives me similar vibes to the mutual in question. I chose to sort of connect them by making them in the same world; I don’t know why the brain does stuff the way it does. This ended up being a lot longer than I originally thought it would be (it's longer than some of my fics)! Sorry for the pings, guys!
Also, I started writing the 50 followers fic and then accidentally deleted it when I meant to save. This is what I get for writing it in drafts instead of a doc like my normal fics :( I will not be rewriting it (it was fairly long; that’s what was making me basically go on a small hiatus), so that’s just getting scrapped. Sorry to anyone who was really excited for that.

Nix is the throne room in a medieval castle. Simultaneously imposing and inviting, the grandly decorated room stands with doors open. The torchlight flickering from sconces on the walls provides a warm glow, and walking down the carpet towards the crown resting on the throne makes you feel like royalty yourself. The sounds of the room are gentle: the rustling of ladies’ skirts, the soft murmur of nobles’ voices, and your own solid footsteps against the wooden planks of the floor. Somehow, this place feels like home and like something far greater than yourself at the same time, and it’s easy to imagine that you could stay here forever.
Nix, I’m so happy to have been able to find you and this little corner of the internet. Your welcome, among others, made me feel safer and more real than many of my interactions with irls, and I hope to stay with you all for a long time to come. It’s lovely to see whenever you appear on my dashboard, and I have great respect for your writing. To me, you are one of the original writers of our little community, and I can’t imagine it without you.

Mello is the castle’s menagerie. The chorus of the animals’ sounds blend together into an unconventional yet beautiful song, and the creatures are full of excitement. They are free from their enclosures, and swirl around you in greeting. The day is warm, and the sun beams down on the multitude of beings, smiling with them. The foliage nearby is lush, leaves rustling in a slight breeze, and a pond bubbles happily in the background. Among the chaos of the creatures, there is an infectious happiness that makes it so you can’t help but smile.
Mello, thank you so much for reblogging my X fic! If you hadn’t, I would still be that awkward introvert hiding in the corner and not reaching out to make the friends I have now. You are also a delightfully chaotic person. If you were from a show, you would be a blorbo <3

El is a day in the garden surrounding the castle. Cherry trees are covered in pink blossoms, and the air is filled with petals that look almost like snowflakes. Many of the flowering plants are filled with buds, the colours just beginning to burst through. The air is cool, even as the sun shines down from above, and a light breeze sways the branches of the foliage. Birds chirp from their perches high in the trees, their songs clear in the otherwise quiet afternoon.
El, you are a fantastic person to know! It’s always fantastic to see your latest posts, and scheming in dms together was hilariously fun. I’m honoured to have started writing at the same time as you, and I’m looking forward to seeing us both grow.

If El is a spring day, then Bloom is a summer one. Bright and sunny, with the trees of the orchard providing the perfect amount of shade to relax in. The flowers that had once been just starting to appear are now in full bloom, the colours vibrant against green leaves and stems. Bumblebees and butterflies hover around the garden, darting from flower to flower. Sitting on the grass, you’re surrounded by friends caught mid-laughter.
Bloom, you are a glorious person who always seems full of energy (and it’s great, even if we have to bully you into sleeping <3). I always smile when you show up with a post, and greatly enjoy all of your interactions with your mutuals. You are a force of chaos! /pos

Mori is a night in the woods behind the castle. At first glance, the forest appears terrifying. Branches curve above your head like outstretched claws, partially blotting out the full moon. A wolf howls in the distance. The wind rushes through the leafless trees, the clacking of limbs stark against the otherwise silent night. As you look closer, though, the scene before you is not the scary image it appeared to be. Fireflies dance around, lighting up the area with a cheerful glow to accompany the moonlight. Small, brightly coloured flowers bloom at the base of the tree roots, and warm-toned mushrooms have made their homes on some of the trunks. The wind is not the bone-chilling cold you first expected, and is in fact quite comfortable, hugging you like a friend would after you’ve been separated for a while. A raven is perched in one of the trees, one you’ve come to know as well as any human, one that brings gifts of shiny things and stones and all the small things that make you smile.
Mori, I will fully admit I was a tiny bit scared of you at first. Mostly because of your theme, I think, but now I’m really glad to have been able to see past that to the sweet person underneath. I love seeing your interactions with others, and I love seeing the little blue dot when you manifest in the inbox, bringing your comparisons to creatures I do not know but will cherish as a gift from a friend.
