I worked at Big Lots for 5 and 1/2 years before they illegally fired me because they thought I was unionizing. It was a terrible place to work. I only stayed because I was good at my job, and I liked who I worked with for the most part. But they had this program for only a few months which was the single stupid thing I've ever heard of in my life. They spent millions of dollars advertising it, promoting it, and tried to implement it. Instead of just giving us fucking a raise. Do you know what the program was? Fucking temporary wristbands. Basically if you felt a coworker went above and beyond you would write a don't saying what they did good, then pick a different wristband based on the adjective you wanted to describe them as. Like hard-working. Honest. Above and beyond. Etc. In the three months we implemented the program, management maybe did it once or twice, but overall nobody ever even tried to attempt it. It was a single stupidest fail I've ever seen done by a business to make their employees feel more worthwhile while actually making them feel more worthless. Oh I forgot to mention the best part. You're supposed to give back the bracelet at the end of the day LMAO

I feel like 1997 to 2008 is a blanket generation where we cover the general but not the specific. Like from lke Big Lot's to Aldis.

i feel like a lot of the 'i hate kids' crowd would be more tolerant if they understood that due to a kid's limited experience of the world that 4 hour flight might just be the longest they've ever had to sit still for or that trapped finger might literally be the most pain they've ever felt in their short life or they might not have ever seen a person with pink hair ever so of course they want to touch it or nobody's told them yet that they can't run around the museum and they only just learned cheetahs are the fastest animals so of course they want to put that to the test. how were they supposed to know etc etc.
