Self-Care

I will be updating this blog on my wellness, and self care rituals that transform my soul, mindset, and appearance. Taking care of your body from the inside out, and taking quality time for myself is my top priority. I always say “You gotta fill up your cup. Before you have the capacity to fill up others”. In these posts I will include my self-care secrets that transform my mood and mindset. I will address what I have learned, how I will deal with the shift of going to a university and maintaining self-care, and lifelong rituals. I will share grocery hauls, my new favorite products, meditations, my fun self-care gadgets I buy, and the start of me and my moms pilates journey. Life is full of craziness and we as a society need to slow down. I heard a quote yesterday that stood out to me “You have to enjoy life's challenges because life will never get easier, you will just learn how to stay positive in the struggles ”. Gwyneth Paltrow, Gisele Bunchen, Kourtney Kardashian have all been influencers using their voice to guide society on balance. Now I will start mine.

Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. Deuteronomy 31:6

We often think of strength and courage as something given or imparted to us. And while there is a certain amount of truth to that, the reality is that we must first determine that we will be strong or courageous before we will show strength or courage.

Notice that that Israelites were not told to get strength or build up their strength. They were not told to get courage or build up their courage. They were told to BE strong, to BE courageous. In other words they were to move forward using the strength and courage they already had within them. They were not to make the mistake of the earlier generation and let fear take hold of them. Knowing the promise of God to be with them, they were to go forth in strength and courage, not shrink back in weakness and fear.

Whatever you are facing, be strong and of a good courage. God is with you!

And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:12 ESV

Monday - Not starting as expected and yet it's ok cause God got my back.

As I prepare for today, I look to God who gave me the command to get out and go back. As of Friday, step one is complete and now the journey into the promised land I am to go back to.
