You know how Colin Bridgerton tells Penelope Featherington to tell him if he does something she doesn’t like? And she basically is like that’s impossible.
I’d love for a tiny little rewrite here. Because we know Colin is a simp and the man will do ANYTHING to make her “happy” so I just want the words to change a smidge.
“Tell me what you like. Tell me what you need.”
I get that the book really focuses on all the females and their inexperience and that was classic for the times. But I feel like Penelope knows what she wants. And they’re both going to be kinky as hell. And they both freaking love words so…we demand some dirty talk.
Boom.

What do you like about Phillip and Eloise?
I guess because despite their very short relationship timeline there is something so real to me about them as a couple. And I guess, I like them so much because they are so flawed and yet so perfect together.
Phillip made a mistake with Marina when he was recently married and he spent the rest of his marriage regretting it. Sort of hoping that one day he could get a chance to be better
And I personally relate to Eloise crisis at the beginning of the book. It may not make sense for a lot of people, but seeing your best friend get married and realizing that everyone is moving on with their love lives while you remain stuck with the same plan you had when you were 18 is very relatable
When Eloise decides in a true Bridgerton fashion to make this very reckless decision because the man she’s been corresponding with sounds like a good person. She’s so unapologetically honest about it.  Eloise didn’t have a plan beyond showing up, seeing the man in person, and making up her mind.
Meanwhile Phillip meets her and it’s so iconic really. Sure he needs a wife and a mother for his kids, but his first thought when he meets Eloise is basically
He could drown in those eyes.
And Phillip did not, as one might imagine, even think the word drown lightly.
They don’t know anything about each other in real life, But when Eloise comes into his life this guy becomes a simp. And Eloise takes it all for granted like it’s her due because of course it is. She just traveled a long way, he should be in awe of her.
Eloise just barges in to his world looks around, makes herself comfortable, starts acting like she owns the place and Phillip? Phillip is in awe! he offers no protest, no token What the hell, nope, she’s here she owns him okay, he’s good, how can he convince her to make this permanent.
Phillip doesn’t even think about saying no, he was ready to be her boy toy the minute she walked in to his house. Despite the very clear indication that Eloise was trouble in a handbasket. He’s 100% in the plan with whatever she wants to do
And then there’s the plot with Oliver and Amanda. Who just need their father to love him and Phillip doesn’t know how, but Eloise does because she actually grew up with people who showed affection in a healthy way. And she teaches him that.
I love how Eloise starts out as the cool adult, who plays pranks on the children and doesn’t let them get the better of her, because she’s fun and creative,  and then she gradually changes into a responsible parent as she starts teaching Phillip how to be an involved parent himself. Because the minute those kids first tried to play a prank on her, Eloise was ride or die.
I love that she falls inlove with Oliver and Amanda (naugtiest kids ever) even before falling inlove with Phillip. Who is already halfway into selling her his soul.
And I love how Eloise just has so much agency in all the book, things have to be done her way or not at all, and they do get done her way. It’s so refreshing to see that her love interest isn’t telling her she can’t do things because he thinks he knows better. But rather Phillip assumes she’s in charge
And then, it’s just so poignant, when Eloise to realizes that him letting her be is not enough!. that part is so beautiful. It’s not enough for him to do everything she wants. He needs to tell her about his needs too, be involved as husband, be a partner instead of a subordinate, he needs to set boundaries with the kids, he needs to tell her about his desires and his fears!
And they grow together, and it’s not just about Eloise, it’s about Phillip becoming the man he didn’t think he could be.
I love Phillip and Eloise so much because out of all the Bridgerton couples, it’s the relationship that’s the most like something that usually happens in real life. Two people who don’t know if they will work out as a couple, deciding to give it a try.
I love my Bridgerton men, Anthony, Colin, Benedict, are arguably attractive because they’re fictional. But Phillip is the sort of man I want to marry in real life. Because he’s written like a man I could meet any day. In fact I do know a lot of men like Phillip. They are happily married and have partners who appreciate them. Their relationships are very healthy.
He’s such a normal man, in awe of his wife because he thinks she’s the best thing that’s ever happened to him, he’s still a man with baggage, who really wants to do things better in a relationship after making mistakes in that past that he’s not proud of and what makes him an amazing hero is that he doesn’t treat Eloise the way everyone else treats her. He just lets her be herself because he loves everything about who she is. Why should she have to change?. With Phillip Eloise can be whatever she wants and he supports her. When she does change, it’s an evolution of who she already was when they met
And Book Eloise. My hero. Really her absolute honesty always does it for me. Not because she’s got the guts to put her convoluted plans into action. Anybody can do that. But rather, Eloise is always honest to the people she loves. With Phillip, with her brothers, with the kids. She never swallows her words or let things work out on their own, she talks to people, she’s honest about what she feels and about asking others especially the men in her life, to man up and talk to her. She knows she can be a bit domineering, but she’s also very good at communicating  she’s so honest that when people don’t use their words, she gets upset
you know I really like To Sir Phillip with love.
And no, it’s not because Phillip is the hottest DILF in the Bridgerton series or the fact that Eloise knows her husband canonically has the biggest *cough* plowing equipment out of all the male heroes Julia wrote  .... although I’d be lying if I said that’s got nothing to do with my absolute love for this book.
It’s the fact that as a couple, the progression of the Eloise Phillip relationship is so cute, (despite getting married in less than a week after meeting) that it always amazes me how underrated the book is.
And that’s the tea

“Daddy! I can’t reach it!”
“Can’t reach what, sweetheart?”
Daisy was holding an ornament in her little hands. “I want to put it there,” she said, pointing at an empty spot near the top of the Christmas tree. With a soft, affectionate grin, Colin scooped her up into his arms and helped her hang the ornament on the tree.
It was Christmas Eve. You’d wanted to get the tree a lot earlier, but Colin had been swamped at work and you hadn’t fancied getting it by yourself while having to drag along a four-year-old and an infant.
You watched on in amusement, breastfeeding baby Rose. You never tired of seeing your husband and daughter interacting. She adored him. She had chosen him before you had.
“Mama, look!” said Daisy suddenly, pointing at the window. “It’s snowing!”
You turned your head and saw flurries of snowflakes coming down outside. “So it is.”
“Can we build a snowman, daddy? Pretty please?”
“There isn’t enough snow for that yet. Let’s carry on decorating the tree, okay?”
“Okay.”
You looked down at Rose. She stared back up at you with Colin’s big brown eyes.
“Are you excited for your first Christmas, Rose?” you asked. She just blinked at you.
When the tree was done, Daisy admired her handiwork from all sides. It looked surprisingly good. Colin had been gently suggesting where to put things so that the tree looked even and balanced.
Rose was now full up, so you tucked your breast back in your shirt and held her against you to burp her.
“Can we make a snowman now?” asked Daisy.
Colin looked out of the window. “Okay. But you need to wrap up warm, Daisy. We don’t want your fingers and toes to turn into icicles, do we?”
“Okay, daddy.” Daisy ran over to grab her coat.
Colin sat down on the sofa beside you. “How are you feeling?”
“I’m okay,” you said. “Sleepy. Pretty sure this one is slowly stealing my life force.” You patted Rose on the back.
“Do you want me to take her for a bit?”
“No, it’s okay. Daisy wants to build a snowman with you. I’ll stay in here where it’s warm.”
“Let me know if you change your mind.” He dropped a kiss on your forehead and another on the top of Rose’s head and then stood up just in time for Daisy to grab his hand.
“I can’t do the zipper,” she said. She was dressed in her little red coat, looking utterly adorable. Colin knelt down in front of her helped her do the zipper up. “Thank you daddy.” They both bundled themselves up in hats, scarves and gloves.
“Are you gonna come too, mama?” asked Daisy with her hand on the handle of the back door.
“No, I’m staying here with Rose,” you said, bouncing the baby on your knee.
“Aw…” Daisy pouted but didn’t argue.
There was a cold rush of air when Colin opened the door that subsided as soon as he closed it behind them. Rose clutched at you, making a noise that signified that she wanted your attention, so you played peek-a-boo.
The next time you looked out the window, the snowman was starting to take shape. Colin was doing most of the work, as Daisy appeared to be looking for suitable sticks and stones to attach to it.
Rose tugged at your shirt so you held her up to the window so that she could see what Colin and Daisy were doing. She made a gurgling sound and then hit the glass with her hand.
“What’s up, baby?” you asked, and she hit the glass again, this time pointing. She looked at you, and then she pointed again. “You wanna go outside?” She continued to point. “Alright fine.”
By the time you had bundled Rose up in all her winter clothes, she was barely even human-shaped anymore. She was basically a big ball of clothing.
You wrapped yourself up warm too, and, as an afterthought, grabbed a carrot from the kitchen. With Rose in your arms, you stepped out into the back yard.
“Mama!” cried Daisy, running over to you. She wrapped her arms around your leg. Colin’s face split into a bright smile when he saw you.
“Hey, Daisy. Your snowman is looking good,” you said, patting her on the head. They had added sticks for arms and stones for eyes and mouth.
“Her name is Snow-Daisy,” said Daisy, proudly.
“That’s a good name. But you know what she’s missing?”
“What?”
“A nose.” You handed her your carrot.
“Daisy, why don’t you get mama to help you finish off Snow-Daisy?” Colin suggested, reaching for Rose. You handed her over and she immediately started giggling happily as he made faces at her.
“You put the nose on,” said Daisy, holding up the carrot.
“Alright,” you said with a smile. You embedded the carrot into Snow-Daisy’s face. “What do you think?”
But Daisy wasn’t paying attention. “I wanna make snow angels,” she said, immediately running over to a patch of fresh snow. “Mama, come make snow angels with me.”
The idea of lying down in the snow was less than appealing, but Daisy looked so excited. “Alright, fine,” you conceded.
Behind you, you could hear Colin introducing Rose to Snow-Daisy. Daisy lay down, enthusiastically sweeping her arms and legs back and forth. You did so too, less enthusiastically.
“Mama, you’re not doing it right! Like this!” Daisy demonstrated again. You copied her, and she seemed at least somewhat satisfied.
“Having fun?” asked Colin, appearing in your peripheral vision.
“Tons,” you said, and he smiled at you.
“Daddy, you need to make one too,” said Daisy. “And Rose.”
“I will, but Rose doesn’t want to,” he said. “She started crying as soon as she touched Snow-Daisy. I don’t think she likes the snow.” He held out a hand to you and pulled you to your feet.
You took Rose, whose face was a little blotchy. As soon as you were holding her, she hid her face in your chest. You stroked her head. Colin lay down in the snow and started making his own snow angel.
“You okay, sweetheart?” you murmured to Rose. In response, she rested her cheek against your chest. “It’ll be bath time soon and we can get you nice and warm, okay?”
“What do you think, mama?” asked Daisy as Colin got to his feet, leaving behind his snow angel. The angels themselves did look very cute; Daisy’s was between yours and Colin’s, making a beautiful little snow angel family.
“I love it,” you said, grinning. Colin snapped a picture of the snow angels on his phone. “Alright Daisy, it’s getting dark now. I think it’s time for a bath.”
“No,” Daisy whined, but Colin was already picking her up.
“Yes,” he said. “It’s bath time.”
She let out a very dramatic sigh, but flopped against his chest in defeat.
Bathing Daisy and Rose was a communal affair. Colin washed Daisy in the tub while you washed Rose in the baby bath. When both girls were clean and dry and dressed in their pyjamas, you put Rose down to sleep in her crib in your room.
You came back into the living room to find Colin and Daisy drinking hot chocolate on the sofa.
“There’s a cup for you on the counter,” said Colin. “I made it pretty hot so it should still be warm.”
“Thanks, babe.” The cup in question has been stacked high with marshmallows and sprinkles and cream. As promised, it was still warm.
You stepped back into the living room to find that Daisy had finished hers, and was now sitting in Colin’s lap. He had an arm around her, but you watched as his eyes fluttered briefly closed.
“Daddy! You’re not listening!” said Daisy, exasperated. Colin’s eyes snapped open and he straightened up.
“Sorry, what were you saying?”
“Alright Daisy, daddy is tired, and it’s past your bedtime,” you interceded.
“But-” She looked at Colin desperately.
“No ‘but’s,” said Colin. “How is Santa gonna come and deliver presents if you’re awake?”
Daisy’s eyes widened. “It’s bedtime,” she agreed.
“Come on sweetheart.” He stood up still holding her in his arms. “Say goodnight to mama.”
“Goodnight mama,” said Daisy, leaning over to kiss you on the cheek.
“Sleep tight, baby,” you said, ruffling her hair.
While Colin took Daisy to brush her teeth, you settled down on the couch with your hot chocolate. The heat was lovely in your hands. You sipped at it, leaning back and letting the warmth fill you.
At the quiet sound of Daisy’s bedroom door closing, you opened your eyes. You hadn’t realised you had closed them. Colin settled down beside you on the sofa and put an arm around your shoulders.
“Hey,” you murmured.
“Hey.”
“You wanna watch a movie or something?”
Colin covered his mouth, suppressing a yawn. “Sure. I need to stay awake until the girls are definitely asleep anyway.” You set down your mug and put your head on his shoulder.
“What do you wanna watch?”
You settled on Home Alone. Or at least, that was your intention. You fell asleep halfway through the movie and woke up alone in your bed.
Your bedroom door creaked open. “Sorry,” whispered Colin when he saw you sitting up. “Did I wake you?”
“Only a little. Has Santa been yet?”
He grinned at you. “He has.”
“Good.”
You lay back down and rolled over as Colin changed into his pyjamas. In her crib, Rose was sleeping soundly.
Behind you, Colin got into bed. As soon as he was under the covers he wrapped his arms around you, kissing your shoulder. His hand came to rest on your stomach. It was a habit he’d picked up while you were pregnant with Rose, and it seemed instinctive now. There was something very comforting about the gesture.
The clock on your bedside table caught your eye. “Hey Colin,” you whispered.
“Yeah?”
“It’s 12:05. Merry Christmas.”
He squeezed you. “Merry Christmas, babe.”

Bridgerton Season 2... my thoughts
It's going below the cuts because of Spoilers... and i apologise it's going to likely incoherent...
First up... the Featherington subplots... what the hell and what was the point. Once I realised what was going on, not gonna lie... i fast fowarded it. I did see Portia giving Jack the old heave ho and basically screwing him over and I have to yell "get the fuck in" i love protective mother's and that was just... very much a FUCK YOU moment and i loved it.
Can we talk about Colin's tan??? Jesus... it would have fit in on a night out in Newcastle... JESUS WEPT. I am sure at one point he was nearly orange... Colin babe i love you when you're not being an idiot... but dude... the tan... no.
I'm going to do a separate post on Benedict cause I just have to...
the marina/colin thing was meh i loved seeing Phillip and him being a babe and a plant nerd but i think again. i could have done without it this season but it was nice to see Marina happy and i'm kinda interested to see how they will do this... going forward...
I LOVE LOVE LOVED ALL the Bridgerton Family moments and A&B Moments in this were just... sheer perfection. it was clear you could see the Brotherly relationship, the difference between A&Bs relationship and that of A& C-H... it was clear they were the best of friends. Anthony went to Benedict for advise... and Benedict offered it. Anthony offered Benedict support as a brother... and tried to do the same with the Art Academy and just did it poorly but i can't wait to see more A&B In future.
VIOLET FUCKING BRIDERTON- what a fucking WOMAN. the flashbacks... GIVE RUTH GEMMELL ALL THE AWARDS. She was fucking REMARKABLE this season. seeing her pain... seeing her struggle and seeing her comfort Anthony... the scenes they shared... their moments... they were just beautiful and I loved them... and I cannot wait to see her as a bad as mother fucker she is in AOFAG... i can't wait to see her be the rock for Ben..
She is a goddess and I will not hear a bad word said against her.
Anthony's moments dancing with Hyacinth and seeing her dance albeit it briefly Benedict... then his chat with Gregory... FUCK THE FEELS... THE FEELS... I've watch that twice now and sobbed like a girl... it was so beautiful...
but to the main course...
First up... I love Edwina... for the most part... at times I felt she was a little wooden and stiff that may change with some rewatches. there were times she just felt poorly written and at times I felt, while justified, she came across a bit spoilt and petulant to me but again... I totally get it... she was furious with them both. With Kate... but the whole thing...
it was just a fucked up mess. the wedding it should never got that far but if i remove the book from my mind and look at it as something other than TVWLM and not the book and as a story.
BUT their make up scene... the conversation about "being true to oneself" THAT is the Edwina I know and loved from the book and I am so fucking excited to see her be herself in Season 3...
Kate and Anthony... my darlings... you both idiots.
I cannot physically put it into words...
the slow burn... it hurt
but Anthony simping over her... the way his brain stalled at seeing her leg, when he could smell her... it was just... breathtaking and beautiful.
the way he acted around her... their hand movements, their longing glazes. it was just beautiful.
Kate... you darling darling broken girl. it pained me so much. Simone is just beautiful and her acting was exquisite. I hate the pain she went through and you could see it in every glance you could see the pain and hurt she felt. the conflict she felt and the scene in the cupboard. her lonliness hits her like, pardon the word and pun, a wrecking ball... honestly it was like someone reached into my chest and pulled my heart out...
I know lots of people complained about the lack of sex but man i am not sure i needed it. it was hot, it was steamy and the moments we got, the montage of their first time. jesus christ i went feral.
Anthony you fucked up the first marriage proposal to her... dude you clearly didn't think properly you could have saved yourself a lot of pain!
Anthony's speech in the garden to her for the first time and this his love declaration...
it was just beautiful
I HATE that we didn't get more Kanthony and we didn't get their fucking honeymoon... 6 months! and we didn't get it but...
i love the ending. Lady Whistledown's silence and saying about knowing the moment went to talk... it has to be huge foreshadowing for her making up with Eloise...
and Benedict's closing the box... trapping down his artistic tendancies...
but the epilogue.
Kate and Anthony not giving a flying fuck about propriety and snogging in front of their family... fucking spot on. that is the Viscount and Viscountess I wanna see in Season 3... floating their happiness by coming in from gardens looking very dishevelled at balls and just dancing together all night and embarassing their family...
to summarise...
if you are a hardcore lover of the book and you go in expecting an adapation you are going to be disappointed... if you go in with open eyes and an open heart... then you will love it...
i have loved it and it's made my excited (yes weird i know) to see what they do with my beloved King and Queen when it is there turn...

Dating Colin Gray Headcanons
Tumblr media
Yes I also made a wallpaper. You're ✨welcome✨
So here we go, Headcanons I'm sure very few people wanted. It gets a little bit spicy, have fun!
• It took all the courage he had to ask you out, he was really sweet about it, trying to maintain eye contact as he fidgets a little, with his hands, bracelets, scarf, jacket, anything he could touch really. He was shocked when he looked up from his feet after asking the big question that you were smiling.
• Not only smiling, you were blushing. At first he thought he must have embarrassed you but when you nodded and agreed with a sweet little giggle, his heart did backflips.
• You thanked him for his gesture with a kiss on the cheek. Now he was blushing.
• He loves soft PDA but does let his nerves get the best of him sometimes, so it might be up to you to grab his hand. If he seems nervous, check in on him and play with his hair, it's comforting.
• He doesn't really announce that he is dating you but he doesn't shy away from it either, you share kisses in public, you are basically joined at the hip.
• Wear his clothes, he will never ask you outright but will offer you his jacket if it is chilly and it's his dearest hope that you "steal it" for a while so it smells like you. Also it's like a physical sign you are his partner.
____
• He will most likely not make the first move as far as sex goes until you've both gotten comfortable with each other so to speak. So if you are horny, jump in his lap and make it known.
• Speaking of, he loves having you in his lap, he instantly gets aroused but he tries to hide it, he doesn't wanna pressure you.
• Constantly checking you are okay during sexy times. But makes it hot, sometimes this boy is confident.
• "You like that, baby? Yeah? Good girl" "You want it? Show me how bad you want it" Of course the first few times aren't like this, he is getting a feel for what is and isn't okay, and he may be a little shakey but give him time.
• Makes you cum first every time. He was convinced he died and went to heaven the first time you reached orgasm for him, which was most likely on his tongue, or fingers. Or both.
• Praise him, tell him how well he is doing and how much you love him, run your fingers gently through his hair, kiss up his thighs as you go to give him head.
• He would be seeing stars if you were to deep-throat him. And you best believe he is vocal when he is close.
• Loves it when you moan with his cock in your mouth. And definitely wants you to swallow his cum but it too nervous to ask.
• His dick is fairly long, around 7 inches, with a bit of girth but not an overwhelming amount, slightly thicker towards the base though.
• He loves fucking you doggy style, he starts getting the confidence to tease you, slowing down to a painful pace, something in him just snaps when you start fucking yourself onto his dick, looking back over your shoulder, biting your lip. He starts to ✨rail✨ you, gripping your hips, smacking your ass. You've unlocked Dom Colin, congrats. He wants you to call him Daddy now.
• His Aftercare is so sweet and considerate, will mostly likely give you a minute to come back down to earth as you cuddle into his chest, he's stroking your hair and kissing your forehead. When you are coherent again, he asks what you need and does anything and everything for you. What a gorgeous little simp.
•In conclusion, the best boyfriend anyone could ask for

ok ig cashier damian is my latest hyper fixiation, so let’s add
• Ight so, on fridays, jon cannot come in all the time, very rarely can he. and when he does. he sees a very cute sleepy damian who also wants to punch him:)
• damian is just a mess. he didn’t have time to fix his appearance because as soon as he got out of school, he had to change in a shitty unsanitary grocery store bathroom.
• it was not fucking fun. it never is. damian is so over it. jon normally sees Damian working on homework quickly before putting it away when Jon or other customers show
• damian cannot be asked to look like a normal human being when he just finished 7 sad hours of school in ANOTHER shitty uniform. he hates uniforms
Jon: you look like you’re gonna fall asleep
Damian: ugh, look who it is, the good boy from metropolis who doesn’t look like a creep at all when he comes here just to talk to me. woo hoo!
Jon: nice to see you too
• jon normally sucked on lollipops when he didn’t want to chew on gum, plus sometimes he chews on gum really aggressively and it hurts his jaw
• but let’s talk abt jonny: star athlete ( I’m a simp for athletes jon, please kill me. he’s a basketball player in this though. he got the height for it anyway ), himbo-vibes, and overall sweetheart.
• at least that’s what everyone else thinks. his life is a cycle. A very miserable cycle. It’s honestly tiring and hurts his head and generally takes his mood down
• but then he drove to bludhaven in his new car and brand new license. and he saw him.
• sure he’s seen moody teenagers working at stores before, but this boy; Damian, by his name tag, was different. He SENSED IT
• jon found that he liked different
• damian.. just didn’t easily talk with Jon like so many did at home. he liked a challenge
• and Damian was his challenge
• so he wasted so much gas and time and money to visit him.
• he was so whipped
• he was attracted to him. just the way he did things. like goddamn. ok.
• then his friends and him took a trip there. it was Saturday, they were gonna leave on Sunday. it was for Kathy’s birthday. He had no idea why she wanted to go here.
• oh. yeah. The idiots taken in for underaged drinking. Jon didn’t drink. ( he was a good boy and designated driver ) so he was just there trying to get the officers to let his friends off the hook
Damian: oh look, guess the good boy isn’t really a good boy.
Jon: Damian—? No! I’m here to get my friends out!
Damian: figures, you’re too innocent to do bad things.
Jon: what did you do then?
Damian: well wouldnt my you like to know
Dick: Damian! There you are! Sorry, I was calling up some parents- who is this?
Damian: Good boy.
Dick: ah.
Jon: Jon Kent.. nice to meet you
Dick: wait. As in Clark Kent?
Jon: yeah? that’s my dad
Dick: aw your dad used to babysit me
Damian: can we go now
Dick: hush Damian, I’m feeling nostalgic
• so Damian learned jons name. And jon got to see Damian in regular clothes, so that was cool
• he also got in trouble and couldn’t see Damian for a month because his parents were upset about what happened.. understandable, but jon was still upset
Tai: soo, that was him?:)
Jon: shut up
• tai accidentally found out about cashier boy, it was very funny for tai. not Jon. he teased jon for being whipped.
• sure jon liked damian for his looks at first. then he liked him for him.
Jon: dad, some guy named dick said hi
Clark: jon it isn’t— wait-
Jon: he said you babysat him
Clark: really? You saw him, how did he look? I haven’t seen him since he was a kid!
Jon: um. good?
Clark: where did you see him?
Jon: ..the police place
• his parents put a tracker on jons phone. now they were so confused why their son kept going to Giant Beagle in bludhaven. it was. weird.
• they just- was he meeting someone?? why was he doing this? WAS HE GETTING DRUGS? wait. no. it’s jon. jon couldn’t even stand the smell of cigarettes
Lois: jon.. honey.
Jon: yeah?
Lois: why do you keep driving to bludhaven? I’m worried about you and want to make sure you aren’t doing anything.. bad. Or dangerous.
• granted, it was very dangerous going out there, but he liked it. he liked the thrill of when he got to walk damian back sometimes! HE WAS GETTING CLOSER TO DAMIAN!
• oh also. it turns out damian gave him a fake number
• rude.
• damian always warned him though. and tried to make jon not walk far. jon was.. jon was a good boy. he would never survive in bludhaven frequently, jt worried humored damian.
• sometimes jon came by during the day. Damian’s Sunday shift was in the evening while his Saturday one was in the morning. jon got to go get lunch with him sometimes if Damian felt like there were enough people around that would know if he got kidnapped or not
Damian: why do you bother talking to me? most get bored of me and my attitude.
Jon: I find it charming. you’re fun to talk to. you feel so real. almost everyone in my life feels artificial and like I’m living in a disney Chanel movie.
Damian: *he laughed* oh?
Jon, loving Damians laugh rn: yeah! it’s like they’re.. androids or somethin’.
Damian: why don’t you just find someone snarky from metropolis?
Jon: it wouldn’t be as fun then.
Jon: i like a challenge.
• getting to know damian was like trying to beat the hardest level in his game. it was mind blowing how many times he basically had to restart. Damian was also like a Rubix cube, but jon will get there. He already has 1 side done on it.
Jon: so you live with your brother?
Damian: yes.
Jon: nice
• jon didn’t pry. Damian and dick had became forgotten after bruces death, a lot of the kids did. they just all disappeared from the media like ghosts.
• so jon didn’t know that dick wasn’t his blood relative, or that Damian was Bruce’s child. no one really did
• it wasn’t like it mattered though anyways
Damian: basketball is lame.
Jon: have you ever played?
Damian: yes. it sucked ass
• jon has helped Damian restocked late at night sometimes. Damian doesn’t like him touching things, but the faster he does it, faster he can go home to get his pets, alfred, and his idiot brother
Damian: you waste a lot of gas coming to see me.
Jon: it’s worth it.
• jon had to get a job. boo. he worked on days he didn’t have practice and sadly, on sundays.
• he was a worker at a small cafe, he was just a waiter there
• and then one day, on a Sunday, Damian came in with a few people. WAIT DAMIAN CAME IN
Jon: DAMIAN
Damian, clearly startled: what the fuck, jon!
Jon: why’re you here! how long are you staying! ARE TOU REALLY HERE!
Maya: is this who you were talking about?
Damian: shut up.. but calm down, idiot.
Damian: .. you got a haircut.
Jon: you- you noticed? sorry I couldn’t come this week. was busy this week and needed to catch up on sleep.
Damian:’it’s fine. I guess I really should give you my number now.
Colin: that was smooth
Jon: really?
Damian: mhm. after you seat us, dumbass.
Jon: oh right
• and Damian did give jon his number
• a real one dw
Maps: he was cute.. he single?
Maya: he wouldn’t be single if Damian just manned up
Colin: they practically just stared at each other the whole time when they thought the other wasn’t looking
Damian: wait he was looking at me?
Maya: oh damians so whipped.
• oh how the cashier is falling for the waiter
• sounds like a hallmark film.
• next week jon did end up visiting him in ‘haven, and drove him home.
• damians feet were hurting and he was tired so he didn’t even bother to argue.
• jon couldn’t come to visit his favorite cashier during winters a lot, he may of liked his new “dangerous” life, but he heard how bad the roses could get from Damian
• damian was a bit sad and moody because of that. but shut up. you don’t know anything dick
Dick: you know.. you should invite him inside
Damian: so you can embarrass me? no thank you.
Dick: me? embarrass you? never. but come on, you have never shown interested in anyone before! I wanna meet him!
Damian: you already did. At the police station. you forget or something?
Dick: .. that wasn’t really the best first meeting. come on. please?
Damian: no.

"welp I'm bored I'm just going to write down what I think of co workers and people I know"
"alright first off Rowan. He's actually a pretty cool dude and very chill..besides when he chases me when I'm drinking- overall he has that kinda dad vibe he's also kinda the reason I'm mentally ok right now as he gives me tips with dealing with my shit parents along with just helping me with Alex"
"next Dax! He's a really nice dude though he worries me sometimes but he's a awesome friend"
"ok now Destiny! He's like a older brother to me and looks out for me which is actually really nice the others do too but he is there for me when I'm about to do something stupid like hitting my head on the table :/"
"ok next Gravity god where do I start. Gravity is a fucking awesome and sweet and just adorable- god I probably sound like a simp rn but it's true half the time I'm trying not to Boop their nose bc when I see a rabbit I always want to Boop them on the nose soooo bad gravity can be overprotective at times but it's alright"
"alright Monika's turn. she seems like a amazing person it's just we don't end up talking much which sucks and I wish I could talk with her more tho"
"Dylan seems really nice but I've only talked with him once though"
"alright good ol' Dave Miller he seems like he gets up to a lot of trouble I don't know him well but he seems nice"
"Jack actually isn't to bad he came off rather mean in the beginning with him kinda hating me but now he actually seems nice"
"now for Alex or Alexander. He's my little brother and omg he is so damn wholesome- but I do feel bad about how he sleeps he finds beds weird and I've woken up to him either being glued to me or he sleeps on the couch because the couch reminds him of....when he lived with them."
"well one more person! Nathaniel! Or Nathan. He's actually like a father to me and there's like what a 4 or 5 year age deference but he really is like a father to me and he's basically helped me with everything he also helps fund my hobbies such as baking classes and dancing and he's also put a roof over my head and has ask for nothing in return and when I try to give him money he refuses to take it. He also is a groovey looking du---------"
"sorry about that.....Craig hopped onto my lap and such he's adorable and I don't care what people say about him he's sick and also is very sweet surprisingly. When I don't eat he brings me snacks or will tug at my pants while hissing into the direction of the kitchen"
"god I hope no one see's this...."

I wanted to follow up as you kept sane over the last month when many thought things were lost - I did have a wobble about the Haldi scene, but I was proved so wrong. It was so lovely, but also the way it showed some of Edwina’s doubts - her noticing the viscount doesn’t really look at her, which of course he’s looking over her shoulder all the time. And the cross over with Benedict & Colin - I kind of wish they’d stepped up a bit and noticed Anthony was in pain, but I get they are a bit clueless at the moment about life and love lol.
I would have loved more time exploring each other’s traumas, but that came after marriage in the book too - I’m not sure they will get the space to explore that in S3 but you never know. I think it’s clear people want more of the Bridgertons and couples then other shit so we will see! Wouldn’t it be great to see Kate as viscountess and hosting the masquerade ball like the book eeek.
I loved that Anthony was such a simp for Kate, and that he clearly fell for her hard & first (in my opinion)
Anyway something I was thinking of was that poem Benedict gave to Anthony (which was well played as I think it started to set him up as a romantic lead and very different to Anthony - JB played that so well) - but it was so underrated because he looks at Kate and realises he isn’t being truthful.
But - in episode 5 where they meet in the forest and he decides to end it with Edwina but Kate begs him not too - I saw that as a call back to that, like he doesn’t want to cause her pain so will go through something that will make him miserable? Ah I was in pain.
I admit I found Edwina a bit grating at first but did love Charithra’s explanation of the fact that Anthony has basically been the perfect person for her as he’s presented himself that way, and it makes a lot of sense. And none of the actions are her fault at all, I was very mad that Anthony didn’t tell her explicitly he didn’t love her before the broken wedding, and also didn’t really act like himself - although I guess that is common for Ton marriages, but he knew she wanted more than that because Kate told him (there is a bit of a plot hole there in Kate knowing he didn’t feel the same and thinking that would make Edwina happy in the long run, but she’s in distress so I think it’s believable). Also her acting in episode 6 was just incredible I was really blown away - it was like she stepped into the real world in one afternoon.
Yes to all of this fjsjkfkdkddm I mean I disagree with a couple minor things but overall yes to it all your thoughts were a DELIGHT to read.
I’m so so glad you enjoyed it and thank you for following up 💜

books i actually like
Tumblr media
A solid 97% of my ‘book reviews’ (for lack of a better term) are bound to be just me bitching about said book for way too long with way too many expletives, because books I genuinely adore rarely invoke the visceral reaction within me that causes so many of my ‘reviews’ of books I don’t like to be so impassioned and long-winded. Here’s to kicking this dumpster fire off with a little positivity, because that will be little and far in between henceforth.
Harry Potter – J. K. Foul Thing I never understood how someone could appreciate the art and not the artist until Harry Potter. JKR’s dead to me, but the seven original (and only, because I refuse to accept the flaming pile of dog shit that was The Cursed Child as canon) books remain i c o n i c. And you’ll probably witness a LOT of Harry Potter-inspired shitposting on my part if you decide to stick around, because Harry Potter trivia makes up a solid chunk of my personality, and I like to shove my fandoms in other people’s faces. Again, I’m cute like that.
The Diary of a Young Girl – Anne Frank By some odd coincidence, my mum got me Anne Frank’s diary for my 13th birthday, and I always felt like a Super Special Snowflake because of that. Obviously, I can’t relate to being Jewish and in hiding during WWII, but there’s a lot of Anne’s views and thoughts that… resonated with me (ain’t that the most basic-ass description of a book, ever). There’s always the lingering sadness while reading because you know how her story comes to an end, but it’s a book that’s still stuck with me six years later, and for the rest of my mortal life.
The Book Thief – Markus Zusak Why Must I Adore Books That Give Me Naught but Pain: An Autobiography.
Freak the Mighty – Rodman Philbrick Ditto.
Bad Alice – Jean Ure When I first saw the cover, I expected a lighthearted, cheery book. I was very much mistaken. Duffy, a self-proclaimed ‘oddball’, and Alice, another self-proclaimed ‘oddball’, are easily two of my favorite fictional characters, ever. The subject matter is pretty damn dark and rereading the book as an adult is actually kind of scary, but it’s so well-written and engaging and this sounds like I’m an elementary school teacher writing a report card so I’m just gonna stop here.
Tiger Eyes – Judy Blume A true Relic of the angst-riddled phase of my adolescence (I say as if I am not still going through said angst-riddled phase). I’ve been a fan of Judy Blume’s work since one of the girls in my third-grade class bestowed upon me Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing; growing up, I’ve become more detached from Blume’s work but Tiger Eyes is a book that’s never gotten old for me. Davey, the angst-riddled adolescent protagonist, is also stubborn and headstrong and angry and scarily relatable to myself at her age, though under wildly different circumstances.
Changeling – Philippa Gregory I’ve read a couple of Goodreads reviews on the Order of Darkness series, and I’ve garnered that Philippa Gregory fans (Philippans? Philipinos?) are not fans of the series. I can’t vouch for that, given that I’ve only ever read the said series, and I’m admittedly not a fan of books two through four (which is basically every book of the series published to date, exempting the first), but Changeling is a book I liked enough to attempt to handwrite it in a notebook back when I was 12 (I gave up after, like, two sentences because my hand started cramping), and also to try and write a ripoff, featuring an angsty young preteen girl with (short) wavy black hair and eyes like limpid tears (gee, I wonder who that could be) (my eyes are brown, though; I dunno why I wrote the self-insert to be blue-eyed).
The Secret History – Donna Tartt My first foray into dark academia; sadly, reading The Secret History before any other books in the (sub?)genre made every other book pale in comparison. What’s so special about The Secret History for me is that I hate every main character, with passion. Each and every one of them; not just Bunny, but Richard and Henry and Charles and Camilla and Francis and Julian can all go fuck themselves for all I care- but I find them so fascinating. The story and the way it’s written is pretty over-the-top dramatic and my struggling bilingual arse had to look up every tenth word or so, but I adore it with every fibre of my being. Well, the leftover fibres of my being that aren’t simping over Kim Seungmin.
A Series of Unfortunate Events – Lemony Snicket Does this count as the first step of my emo phase? Shoutout to the girl in seventh grade I sat next to for, like, two weeks, who lent me The Wide Window and got me hooked on the series.
Alice in Wonderland – Lewis Carroll This entire book feels so trippy.
The Secret Garden – Frances Hodgson Burnett It’s corny and Everything Works Out Swell for the Goody Guys in the End! in period-typical book fashion, but it got me through many a boring class in the spring of my ninth year of personhood, so I’ll always have a soft spot for Mary and Dickon and Colin and the rest of the gang. It also inspired me to Cultivate, and there are two pretty bougainvillea plants in my garden thanks to one Mary Lennox.
The Miseducation of Cameron Post – Emily M. Danforth Cameron Post: the lesbian baddie we all aspire to be.
Vicky Angel – Jacqueline Wilson Yet another shoutout to my seventh-grade seatmate for lending me her copy of Vicky Angel, which I read under my covers like it was a bloody nudie mag.
A Song of Ice and Fire – George R. R. Martin Where’s Winds of Winter, George?
Turtles All the Way Down – John Green Paper Towns used to be my favorite John Green book until I read Turtles All the Way Down last year. I adore John Green’s writing style (maybe not the #deep #woke #sadboi #middleclass #white #male #cisgender #heterosexual #personalityofabreadroll leads in a solid chunk of his books, though) and okay, so maybe Davis fits all of the above, but my true faves are Aza and Daisy and their dynamic.
To Kill a Mockingbird – Harper Lee I keep calling this ‘HOW to Kill a Mockingbird’ in conversations and it gets really fucking inconvenient.
Coraline – Neil Gaiman I just wish I’d read this sooner than I did.

@jessicamiriamdrew i got you
heads up these are basically all Nandor/Guillermo fics because ... well, that’s what’s in the tag. that relationship can have some seriously uncomfortable dynamics especially prior to season 2, so just ... be advised.
First, just read literally anything by kyrilu. They’re my hands-down favorite WWDITS author. It’s literally what reading a concept novel for the show would have felt like, I imagine. Top picks would be Thou Famished Grave, in which the gang accidentally adopts a manticore; The Gray Card Scheme, where Nandor goes for a second shot at American citizenship through Green Card marriage, which is remarkably sweet and affectionate for all it’s very much a crack scenario; and The Were-Butterly Effect, which is a short 5+1 about ways Guillermo tried to leave the Staten Island house.
5 times Nandor thought he was protecting Guillermo’s virginity + 1 time he did not by Vhett (Rated E). Exactly what it says on the tin and man what contents this tin contains!! Very, very funny and yet still manages to be sexy. I’m still not over Nandor texting Guillermo’s putative Grindr hookup in all caps.
Scenes from an Alliance by Interrobam (rated M). I do not, as a general rule, read super-long fics because I simply don’t have the attention span for them. This is one where I blew through the first 18 (? ish) chapters that were published at the time, hit the ‘Subscribe’ button and rush to every update. This is a really tightly written arranged marriage AU where Guillermo is very much in his own as a slayer. The worldbuiling is epic while also having a lot of the show’s charm (Empress Lazarro, to start; and Nandor thinking ‘simp’ is short for ‘simpleton’). The character dynamics here really shine.
Baby Steps by katiemariie (rated M). Written and reads exactly like an episode of the show. If Nandermo became canon, I expect it would go exactly like this. Every. single. character voice. is just right on the money. So good.
Unfamiliar Territory by madelgard (rated E). Featuring jealous!Guillermo and really, really good Nadja dialogue. Have I mentioned recently that I love Nadja? I love Nadja. Anyway this is another fic that really manages to combine the show’s humor (Colin Robinson giving Guillermo a Baskin Robbins giftcard for being sexually frustrated!) with that delightful UST that we all come to fic for.
Blood Supply by walkwithursus (rated E). A lot of walkwithursus’ fics are super super good, but this one is my favorite. Palpable desperation and longing. And it doesn’t end with an easy “oh they’re together now and everything’s perfect”, which I find to be a major hiccup in my enjoyment of WWDITS fics. I’m here for the torture. This fic is the best kind of torture.
And just for fun, here’s one Jenna/Nadja, which has a disappointingly small amount of fic:
two small divots by estherroberts (rated E). There’s no sentence-initial capitalization in this fic, but if that stylistic choice doesn’t bother you (it didn’t bother me), this is a surprisingly sweet fic. Jenna’s dialogue is especially true to character.

<iframe allow="autoplay" width="100%" height="200" src="https://www.iheart.com/podcast/1119-bridgerton-the-official-p-77492332/episode/peneloise-nicola-coughlan-and-claudia-jessie-81858408/?embed=true" frameborder="0"></iframe>
Claudia a bit short of breath when she joined the zoom call bc she had to move her boat. She said she got it filled w/ diesel.
Nicola & Claudia were the first actors cast. Nicola was the first one cast in April 2019 & Claudia was the next one cast.
Claudia & Nicola met briefly prior to Bridgerton through the comedy show, Porters (one of NC’s best friends was one of the writers). NC basically stalked Claudia bc she really wanted to be friends w/ her
Claudia, as we all know, is anti-social media. But she would look up Nicola online to see what she’s up to. Nicola would do really romantic things, like post a bday message for Claudia in case she goes online (I found this extremely sweet). Claudia said Nicola has done this a few times. It’s like finding a treat.
Nicola sends Claudia memes all the time. Claudia doesn’t know what a meme is (adorable 😁). Nicola likened her to a grandma, telling her what the youngsters are doing on the internet
Nicola and Claudia LOVE Peneloise fan art. Nicola sends them to her and her mom all the time. They appreciate the time people take & what the characters mean to people
Nicola said she gets messages from people telling her they’re mad at Penelope for doing this (I think she was referring to the Marina reveal)
Claudia appreciating Nicola for going with her to have vegan hot dog bc she’s vegan. Then she recounted how a drunk Nicola told everybody after a take: “Well, thanks everybody for the opportunity. This has been wonderful.”
NC talked about how Penelope should really talk about her secrets/troubles with her best friend & to open her eyes to other men bc she feels like Penelope is so in awe with Colin. “He’s lovely, but he’s just a guy.” (Preach, sis!!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼). Nicola recounted how intoxicating those crushes were at Penelope’s age. Nicola not really into the romantic genre but appreciated Bridgerton especially the Hastings ball when she, Harriet & Bessie were reduced to tears by how breathtakingly beautiful it was.
Claudia said one of her favorite scenes was the one where she told Daphne: “thanks for being perfect, so, I don’t have to be.”
GC spoke with JQ and JQ said that what she liked about Peneloise is the fact that they’re trailblazers. They talked about the dichotomy between Daphne and Peneloise. How Daphne is calmly revolutionizing ways while Peneloise are charging in and trailblazing.
Shonda Rhimes said Peneloise is one of the relationships she’s most excited to talk about
Their favorite moments on set involve food. They’re both Colins!!!! Lol. Claudia simping over the quesadilla and the vegan cheesy garlic bread. Both gushing over the magic sandwich - the best sandwich in the world. It’s hash brown, sausages, and ketchup in a roll. Claudia likes hers with brown sauce.
Both were fangirling over Adjoa & Golda.
Claudia’s favorite moment on set was the very early call times (0445). She would get coffee, have a ciggy, and chant (she’s Buddhist).
Nicola’s favorite moment she said was the the first days of the actors being together (May 2019). She was with Claudia, Luke T, Harriet Cains, Jonny Bailey & Phoebe. She liked the buzziness of starting something. She loves the ensemble quality of any job. Nothing happens in isolation & what you can create together.

The Open 2019: Will Rory McIlroy’s Portrush homecoming be a blessing or curse?
Anyone born and bred in Northern Ireland can't be too optimistic, wrote the poet Seamus Heaney.
Yet to be on the coastline of County Antrim this week, to make the drive up from Belfast even, is to see a country beaming its most toothsome smile.
The weather may have been doing its damnedest to wreck the mood on Wednesday, but not even gray skies, wicked crosswinds and torrential rain could vapor this parade.
Rory McIlroy will be hoping to conquer his native Royal Portrush this week at The Open
What will it be for Rory McIlroy, blessing or curse?
Thinking positively, he could feed off all this wonderful energy, bounce inspired around Royal Portrush, buoyed by the love of the common people.
'I just can't put the blinkers on and pretend it's not all going on, "he said. 'I still have a look around and smell the roses. That's one of my mantras this week. "
Against that, those who share Heaney's world view would warn of the pitfalls; of the 148th Open Championship becoming a celebration of Irish golf and of McIlroy himself, one grand four-day craic, amid which is the very serious business of winning a major tournament lost.
"I'm just treating this like any other Open Championship," said McIlroy.
"I've played well here for the last few years . I've played well on this golf course. So I've just got to go out and hit shots and stay in the present. If I just keep putting one foot in front of the other, hopefully by Sunday night that will be good enough. "
In other words, he's conflicted. How can he ignore his role in getting the open back to the country of his birth, forget that it was his success which made the clamor irresistible?
McIlroy can't afford to get caught up in the hullabaloo and expectation at Royal Portrush
A 'Go Rory!' banner is displayed outside of a home at Royal Portrush during the practice round
By the same token, how can he afford to get caught up in the hullabaloo and expectation?
It may , indeed, be all about McIlroy come Sunday, but if he sets off thinking that, how can he last under the pressure?
Colin Montgomerie's father was secretary at Royal Throne and every time the Open went there, tales were told of Monty being as good as raised on the course.
This was his homecoming, his Lewis Hamilton at Silverstone moment. He knew every hollow and plateau.
And invariably this certainty failed in a player crushed by the weight of all that hope. In 1997, Montgomerie was tied in 24th place. In 2004, he finished 82nd. Returning as a senior in 2016, he came 78th.
Portrush has even greater significance for McIlroy. It was here the shot 61 as a 16-year-old, a course record that cannot be touched because Portrush has successfully redesigned.
Yet what is McIlroy supposed to do? Pretend? Feign ignorance? His name is up there on the wall of the clubhouse.
McIlroy shot a 61 as a 16 -year-old at Royal Portrush, a course record that cannot be touched
By the time he finished that record-breaking round, half of the town were trailing him around the links. All he can do is embrace his exalted status and admit the advantage it affords him.
"Yeah, I think experience helps," admitted McIlroy. 'There are a lot of approach shots here that are visually more intimidating than they play. Thomas Bjorn walked a few holes with me on Tuesday and I hit a nice little draw over the right-hand bunker on three.
'It looked like it was missing the green by a mile, but when we got up there it was in the middle. He said, "I wouldn't have thought that." It's just little things, knowing where the lines are.
'I'm more comfortable here than at some of the other Open venues. I've played well here before. I know what I'm doing.
'I was worried at first. I came in last Saturday the course will have changed, the set-up might be different. But it's still the same place. I had dinner booked. I hadn't seen my mum in three months.
'I thought I was going to have to spend some time around the greens to prepare and then I got on the road home and rank them and said, "Can we move dinner up? " Because I'd finished early. There's no difference. It's the same course.
McIlroy chats with Justin Thomas as they finalize their preparations on the eve of The Open
'I was making it bigger in my head than it needed to be. I've played this place enough times to know where to miss it, where not to miss it. No matter if there's grandstands or people or it's the same golf course. "
And if, at the end of it, the name of Northern Ireland's greatest golfer is not on the Claret Jug, well he has still contributed immeasurably to arguably the biggest sporting week in the history of his country.
McIlroy was asked what constituted a major event when he was growing up. He cited Northern Ireland football internationals, Ulster rugby matches, the North West 200 motorcycle race.
'If you really wanted to get a sense of what a huge sporting occasion was, you maybe had to go down to Dublin for an Ireland rugby international, or across the water to see Manchester United play, 'he conceded. Yet this week's crowd is 237,750 – the biggest for an Open outside St Andrews.
"I think it just means people have moved on," McIlroy said. 'It's a different time, a very prosperous place. I'm very fortunate that I grew up just outside Belfast and I never saw anything, I was oblivious to it.
'I remember I watched a movie a couple of years ago called '71, about a British soldier who gets stationed at the Palace Barracks in Holywood. That is literally 500 yards from where I grew up. It basically follows him on a night of the Troubles. And I remember asking my mom and dad "Is this actually what happened?"
'It's amazing to think, 40 years on, it's such a great place, no one cares who they are, where they are from and what background. You can have a great life and it doesn't matter what side of the street you come from.
For this week, what matters in Northern Ireland is golf and one golfer in particular
'The legacy of this tournament is that we are able to have this tournament here again. It speaks volumes of where the country and the people are now. We're so far past and it's wonderful. ”
Now, it must be said banners in support of Soldier F in Belfast and Coleraine, the prospect of an Orange march in Portrush on Saturday and murals celebrating William of Orange and the Battle of the Boyne suggest not all of Northern Ireland has escaped history. There could be a further reckoning around a no-deal Brexit, too.
Yet, for this week at least, what matters in Northern Ireland is golf and one golfer in particular.
'It can go one or two ways, right? ' added McIlroy. 'I've always felt I've played my best golf when I've been totally relaxed and loose. And maybe this environment is what I need.
'I'm not saying this is the way I'm going to approach it. I'm still going to try and go out and shoot good scores and do all the right things.
'But it's wonderful for this country, and golf in general, and to be quite a big part of it is an honor and a privilege. I want to keep reminding myself or that because it is bigger than me, right?
'And if you can look at the bigger picture and see that, it takes some pressure off. I still want to play well and concentrate, but at the same time just having that perspective might make me relax a little more. "
That's the plan. The reality will be discovered on the first tee at 10.09 on Thursday morning. Until then at least, in Northern Ireland, optimism abounds.
