The Extreme Nutritional Benefits of Mushrooms: Varieties and Mechanisms of Anti-Cancer, Anti-Death, Nootropic Effects
The Extreme Nutritional Benefits of Mushrooms: Varieties and Mechanisms of Anti-Cancer, Anti-Death, Nootropic Effects
Mushrooms have been part of the human diet for up to 18,000 years, since the Upper Paleolithic’s Magdalenian phase, possibly beginning with bolete (porcini) variety mushrooms, which are still popular in Italian cuisine today. Delicious and an ample quality-protein source, mushrooms are also extremely beneficial to health in important ways. Generally, they are nootropic brain-protectants,…

Please note that this blog is a chubby!reader blog. Any asks/requests I receive will be written with such in mind unless otherwise stated in the ask. If you want an average bodied!reader or no body descriptors used, please say that in your ask.

So funny story…
I was asking my dad if pirates were still sailing doing scurvy pirate stuff and he said yes but they were ‘cyber pirates’… Now youd think my first though was people who steal your stuff online, unfortunately I’m not that bright.
I thought he meant that these people were sailing the seas in technoified pirates outfits, hijacking people cruises, stealing their online possessions, bitcoin etc. and killing them after taking over their social media presence.
The worst thing is my dad thought it was funny and went along with it…
I told all my friends who already think I’m mentally deprived and now just think I’m even stupider.
I told people about cyber pirates for two weeks
Now I’m adding tags otherwise this post is going nowhere

The Young People of the Lucyverse ~ Part 1
Tumblr media
W.C. Fields famously warned performers never to work with children or animals. Luckily for us, Lucille Ball consistently disregarded his advice. Here’s a look at some of the young performers and characters of the Lucyverse.
Tumblr media
“Baby Sitting” (1949) ~ To makes some extra cash, Liz (Lucille Ball) takes up babysitting. Mr. Wood (Hans Conried) suggests he take the job from his daughter, Adele. Mr. Wood has 11 children: Bob, Madelyn, Adele, Lucille, Ruth, Lucius, Jessie, Walter, Jess, Joanne, and Hugo. In reality, these are the names of some of the staff of My Favorite Husband. Keeping her sitting job from her favorite husband, Liz goes on her first assignment to take care of Tommy Pearson, who is a sure shot with a pea shooter. Liz’s husband George (Richard Denning) thinks she is having an affair and assualts Tommy’s father!
Tumblr media
“The Elves” (1949) ~ Anne Whitfield played Joanne Wood, one of the 11 children of Mr. Wood (Hans Conried), neighbor of Liz and George Cooper on “My Favorite Husband.” She also appeared as Joanne Wood in “Liz’s Superstitions” also in 1949.
LIZ: “How are you?” JOANNE: “Fine, thanks.” LIZ: “How’s your father?” JOANNE: “Fine, thanks.” LIZ: “And your four sisters?” JOANNE: “Fine, thanks.” LIZ: “And your six brothers?” JOANNE: “Fine, thanks.” LIZ: “And your mother?” JOANNE: “Exhausted, thanks.”
Tumblr media
“Liz and George are Handcuffed” (1949) ~ We meet Tommy Wood, the smallest of Mr. Woods’ 11 children. He is played by 13 year-old Johnny McGovern.
LIZ: “Tommy, is it true that no two people in the whole world have the same fingerprints?”  TOMMY: “Nah, that’s a lot of bunk. I’ve already found three people who have exactly the same fingerprints; my daddy, Santa Claus, and the crook who broke into my piggy bank.”
Tumblr media
Sorrowful Jones (1949) ~  A young girl (Mary Jane Sanders) is left with the notoriously cheap Sorrowful Jones (Bob Hope) and his girlfriend Gladys (Luiclle Ball) as a marker for a bet. When her father doesn't return, they learn that taking care of a child interferes with their free-wheeling lifestyle. This is a remake of Little Miss Marker (1934) which starred Shirley Temple and was directed by Lucy’s once-time fiancee Alexander Hall.
Tumblr media
The Fuller Brush Girl (1950) ~ When Sally (Lucile Ball) is mistaken for a babysitter and tied up by some children playing cowboys and indians, she is rescued by the real babysitter, played by actress Gail Bonney. Two years later, Gail Bonney would play Mrs. Hudson in the "The Amateur Hour," hiring Lucy Ricardo to babysit her twin boys, who would tie Lucy up while playing cowboys and indians.
Tumblr media
“Be A Pal” (1951) ~ To give Ricky a taste of his childhood, Lucy dresses up a group of dark-haired boys in sombreros and serapes to remind him of his brothers!
Tumblr media
“Lucy Plays Cupid” (1952) ~ Knowing amorous grocer Mr. Ritter (Edward Everett Horton) doesn’t like children, Lucy trots out a stream of youngsters as her offspring. Mr. Ritter counts 25, although Lucy says 6 are missing. In reality, 10 uncredited child performers were featured in the episode, one even dressed as a “little” Ricky playing a conga drum!  After filming, the young actors posed for a photo with Lucy, Horton, and guest-star Bea Benadaret.
Tumblr media
“The Amateur Hour” (1952) ~ Lucy babysits for rambunctious twin boys, Jimmy and Timmy Hudson.  In reality, the boys were not twins. They were played by Sammy Ogg (Jimmy) and David Stollery (Timmy).
Tumblr media
Enrique Alberto Ricardo IV aka Little Ricky Ricardo ~ Probably one of the most famous children in television history due mainly to the fact that his birth coincided with the birth of Lucille Ball’s real-life boy, Desi Arnaz Jr.  Contrary to popular myth, Desi Jr. never played Little Ricky. The character was played by a series of seven child actors, including two sets of twins and one dream Little Ricky.  They include (in chronological order): James John Ganzer, Richard and Ronald Lee Simmons, Joseph and Michael Mayer, and Keith Thibodeaux (aka Richard Keith). The dream Little Ricky was uncredited. Despite the resemblance, he was not played by Jerry Mathers (”Leave it To Beaver”).  An older dream Little Ricky (definitely not a child) also went uncredited.
Tumblr media
“Lucy Goes to the Hospital” (1953) ~ The same episode that introduces Little Ricky, we meet a new edition to the Stanley household - three newborn girls. Mr. Stanley (Charles Lane) already has six daughters. Fred suggests he start a softball team.
Tumblr media
“Baby Pictures” (1953) / “Lucy and Superman” (1957) ~ Caroline and Charlie Appleby’s son Stevie appears in two episodes. The uncredited baby who played him in 1953 had just gotten over the measles before filming. Little Ricky and Little Stevie are both said to be 13 months old at the time. The next time we see Little Stevie is in “Lucy and Superman,” four years later, where his is played by Steven Kay.
Tumblr media
“Mertz and Kurtz” (1954) ~ Fred’s former vaudeville partner Barney Kurtz (Charles Winninger) comes for a visit. He has been writing to his granson telling him that he is still a star, so Ricky stars him in a revue at the club and invites Little Barney (Stephen Wootton) to the Tropicana. Wootton was nine years old at the time of filming and had been acting since the age of seven. He returned to Desilu for 1959 episode of "Westinghouse Desilu Playhouse” which was introduced by Desi Arnaz and starred William Frawley.
Tumblr media
“Second Honeymoon” (1956) ~ When Ricky is kept busy playing gigs on the ship to Europe, Lucy strikes up a friendship with Kenneth Hamilton played by nine year-old Harvey Grant. Grant had played the youngest son in CBS TV’s “Life With Father” from 1953 to 1955.
Tumblr media
“Lucy Gets Homesick in Italy” (1956) ~ Missing Little Ricky on his birthday, Lucy decides to lavish her attentions on shoeshine boy Giuseppe (Bart Braverman). Bartley Louis Braverman was born in Los Angeles in 1946. This was his fifth TV role although he used the name Bart Bradley until 1962. The little girl Theresa (“She's-a her birthday, too!”) was played by Kathleen Mazolo (nee Mazzola). This is her one and only screen credit of record.
Tumblr media
Lucy and the Mertzes throw a birthday party for the children - until Giuseppe feels guilty about claiming it is his birthday, and tells the truth.
Tumblr media
“Lucy’s Bicycle Trip” (1956) ~ Biking along the Riviera, the gang takes shelter in the barn of an Italian farmer (Mario Siletti). The farmer cannot give them lodging in his house because he has nine children: Teresa, Sofia, Luigi, Pietro, Dino, Gino, Rosa, Mario, and Antonio - all of whom remain off camera throughout the episode. “Mama Mia!  Multi bambini!”
Tumblr media
“Return Home from Europe” (1956) ~ On the flight home, Lucy disguises a cheese as a baby. Another new mother (Mary Jane Croft) sits next to her with her baby, a four month old named Caroline. Lucy mistakenly says her baby is named Chedder, then quickly corrects herself. “Chester!” In reality, both bundles are props.
Tumblr media
“Lucy and Bob Hope” (1956) ~ At Yankee Stadium, Bob Hope is approached by a young fan (David Saber) asking for an autograph. Before granting it, he asks the boy “Have you seen my latest picture, ‘The Iron Petticoat?’”  The boy eagerly replies, “Yes, sir.”  Coincidentally, this is the first episode to feature Keith Thibodeaux as Little Ricky.
Tumblr media
“Little Ricky Gets Stage Fright” (1956) ~ Little Ricky is taking music lessons, but gets nervous at the recital. Like all the children in the episode, little Diana Van Fossen uses her own name, playing a squeaky, out-of-tune rendition of “Swanee River” on the violin. Earl Robie, the 10 year-old ukulele player, was the most experienced of the child performers on the show, having appeared in eight films and TV shows such as “Lassie” and “The Loretta Young Show.” Ironically, despite his credits, his character gets the measles and doesn’t get to perform with the Dixieland Band in the final scene at the Club Babalu.
Tumblr media
Others in the class include: Laurie Blaine (flute), Buddy Noble (bass), Robert Norman (trumpet), Larry Gleason (accordian), and Jeffrey Woodruff (trombone).
Tumblr media
“Lucy and Superman” (1957) ~ Stevie Appleby (Steven Kay) attends Little Ricky’s birthday party with an apartment full of similarly-aged children. The tiny actors appear uncredited. During “London Bridge” Kay looks at Fred suspiciously.
Tumblr media
“Little Ricky’s School Pageant” (1957) ~ The Ricardos and Mertzes are recruited to act in Little Ricky’s school pageant, “The Enchanted Forest”. His 'sister’ Suzy Brown was played by Candy Rogers Schoenberg. She was the prize pupil at Pepito and Joanne’s dancing school, which loaned the costumes, sets, and provided the student performers for the episode.
Tumblr media
After the filming, the more than 20 children took a photo with Lucy, Desi, Bill, Vivian, Pepito, and Joanne.
Tumblr media
Little Ricky’s pal Bruce Ramsey was played by Ray Farrell in three 1957 episodes of “I Love Lucy”: “Lucy Gets Chummy With The Neighbors,” “Lucy Does the Tango,” and “Housewarming”. He was also known for 14 episodes of the TV series “Peck's Bad Girl” (1959).
Little Ricky also had two unseen friends his age: Billy Munson, who lived in Westport with his parents Grace and Harry; and Bily Palmer, who gave Little Ricky the puppy who became Fred the dog.
Tumblr media
“The Ricardos Dedicate a Statue” (1957) ~ In the very last half hour episode of “I Love Lucy,” Desi Arnaz Jr. appears in a crowd scene along with two unidentified young girls. Despite rumors to the contrary, one of them is NOT Lucie Arnaz.
Tumblr media
“Lucy Goes To Mexico” (1958) ~ In Tijuana, ten year-old Alan Roberts (nee Costello) played Alfredo, the enterprising Mexican boy who wants nothing more than to see a great 'flat top' (air craft carrier). Two weeks after this episode aired, he appeared on "Leave it to Beaver” as a Spanish boy who is befriends by the Beaver.
Tumblr media
At the end of the episode, Little Ricky performs Maurice Chevalier’s “Valentina” with a quartet of pint-sized dancers, the equivalent to the grown up chorines his father sings to.
Tumblr media
“Lucy Makes Room for Danny” (1959) ~ The cast of “The Danny Thomas Show” aka “Make Room for Daddy” does a cross-over episode with “The Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour” to mark the show moving into Lucy’s time slot. The cast includes the Williams children, Rusty (Rusty Hamer) and Linda (Angela Cartwright).  “Make Room for Daddy” was filmed at Desilu Studios.
RUSTY (about living in the country): “I have a feeling I’m gonna miss the bright lights of Broadway.”  DANNY (to Ricky): “Don’t mind him, he’s one of the beat generation.”
Tumblr media
In the last hour-long episode, “Lucy Meets the Mustache” (1960) featuring Ernie Kovacs and Edie Adams, Little Ricky is said to go to school with Kovacs' daughter Kippie, his second daughter by his first wife. Although Kippie does not appear in the episode, she would have been 10 years old at the time. Kippie's older sister Bette is also mentioned. After their father's death, the girls were the subject of a bitter custody battle between Edie Adams and their mother, Bette Wilcox.

Bring Me Home Arc 2 Part 17
Damn, how did this get to a part 17????
Here's the promised WIP Wednesday (on a Thursday)!
I had a lot of fun writing this part. The words just flowed so easily.
If you didn't notice, I now have the first arc posted on AO3. It covers the first three parts I've shared here along with some extras that I never did.
Story Summary: Tim and Danny are both neglected by parents who care more about their work than their families. They deal with this by spending too much time online and find each other playing MMORPGs. They keep up their friendship as Tim becomes Robin and Danny becomes Phantom and don't bother keeping secrets from each other.
Part 1, Previous
Word Count: 1.9k
-----
By the time morning had rolled around, Tim had also signed them up for a 7:30 AM and a 6 PM TV interview. Hopefully they could do enough damage control to mitigate the worst of Walker’s bad PR, whatever that turned out to be.
Tim nudged everyone awake at 5 AM. Conner and Cassie got up the easiest.
“Morning, Rob,” Conner said through a yawn. “Time to prepare for our interview?”
“Yep. We’ll be going in uniform since this is an interview for the Young Justice.”
“Great,” said Cassie. “We’ll be ready.”
Tim went to Danny next. “Hey, Danny.” The boy didn’t move, so Tim shook his shoulder slightly.
“Wha…?” Danny blinked his eyes open. “Wha’s goin on?”
“Me and the others are going to our interviews. We’ll be back in a few hours, kay?”
Danny just blinked at him and Tim laughed fondly.
“I’ll leave a note.”
Tim skipped breakfast on their way out, though Bart offered him some breakfast bars.
“It’s too late to be up,” Tim yawned.
Conner laughed as he hugged Tim and wrapped him in his TTK. They rose several feet into the air. “You should not have pulled that all-nighter.”
“How else was I supposed to be awake in time?”
Tim could feel the way Conner shook his head. “Just tell me where to go. I’ll get us there.”
Tim pointed to an area in town. “It’s over that way.”
Bart grinned. “I’ll meet you three there!”
“We won’t be long,” said Cassie.
With the benefit of flying, they were at the radio station within fifteen minutes. Sometimes being friends with metas made life so much easier.
As soon as they entered, a team of people greeted them.
“You were actually serious!” exclaimed a tall, white man. “Thought for sure it was a joke when I got your email last night. I’m Steve and I’ll be your interviewer this morning.”
Tim shook his hand. “Good morning, Steve. Robin at your service, and these are Superboy, Wonder Girl, and Impulse.”
Then they had to be introduced to all the producers, sound engineers, and assistants. If it hadn’t been for his parents’ gala training, Tim was certain he would’ve forgotten all the names instantly.
The employees knew how to do their jobs, however, and despite everyone wanting to meet the heroes, in less than twenty minutes, they were set up in the recording studio.
“So,” said Steve. “I just want to make sure I get this right. You, Robin, have been friends with Phantom for a while now and wanted to tell our listeners the truth about him. That he’s actually a hero and not a menace.”
“That’s right, Steve. I knew him before… Well, he’s a ghost. You know what before implies. He was there for me when I first became Robin. Now I want to be there for him when he’s dealing with similar struggles.”
“That’s not what any of the experts believe.”
Conner snorted. “The so-called experts in this town want to completely destroy any and all ghosts. Don’t think they’re unbiased.”
Bart nodded. “Yeah. We may not have known Phantom as long as Robin, here. But he’s a good guy. Helped us out when we got stranded here.”
“Stranded, eh? Mind if I ask you more about that on air?”
Tim laughed. “You can ask whatever you like. But I can’t guarantee we’ll answer everything. Secret missions and all that, you understand.”
Steve sighed theatrically. “It was worth a shot. Now, we’ll be going live in about five minutes and we’ll have three segments of eight minutes separated by two minute ad breaks. For a total of thirty minutes in the studio. Anything in particular you want me to ask?”
Tim pulled a sheet of paper out of his utility belt. “I wrote some down, if you don’t mind. They should be engaging and broad enough to please your audience and personal curiosity.”
“I won’t ask only from this list, you understand,” said Steve as he took it.
“Of course not. The first three are ones I do request that you ask, however. Beyond those, they’re just suggestions.”
Steve skimmed the list and nodded. “I can work with this.”
Beyond the window, the sound technician made a signal.
“All right, everyone. That’s the one minute mark. Let me introduce you before you say anything, capiche?”
Tim gave a thumbs up and the others added their assent.
The “on air” light turned on and Steve spoke in a voice much more performative than the one he’d been using. “Good Morning, Amity Park! This is Steve Boyce here to help you bring in the day. How are you early birds doing? Have I got a treat for you today! So last night I got absolutely no sleep because at nine thirty, shortly after our newly implemented curfew, I got a surprise email. From no other than the heroes who helped us out the other night when we were attacked! That’s right! The one and only Robin from Gotham emailed my and asked to come on my small, local show. So he and the Teen Titans are here with me. Let’s give them a warm Amity welcome, what do you say?”
Cassie laughed. “Thanks for that introduction, Steve. I’m Wonder Girl and I’d like to clarify one point. The former Teen Titans have kept the name Titans even if they’re no longer Teens. So we’ve decided to go by a new name.”
Bart nodded. “Yep. We’re the Young Justice now.”
Steve laughed. “Looks like I’ve already put my foot in it. Let me correct myself, let’s give the Young Justice a warm Amity welcome.”
Tim put on the happy gala voice his parents had drilled into him. “Not at all! It’s a new change and we’ve never really operated out here before. Even back home in San Francisco or Gotham we get called the Teen Titans more often than not. We’re just on a crusade to get the name change to stick.”
“Well I’m sure all of my listeners will be sure to get it right going forward. Now, let’s get down to business. We’re all thrilled that you were around to help us out the other night, but what brought you to Amity to begin with? Mayor Montez has publicly stated he never even had a chance to reach out for help before you were on the scene.”
“That was all Robin’s doing,” said Conner. “He’s friends with Phantom, you know.”
“Yep,” agreed Tim. “We were in the area when our transport broke down. Impulse figured out where we were and I knew of Amity due to my friendship with Phantom. Since we weren’t on a time limit, we decided to pop into town for a visit. Imagine our surprise when our very first evening here, we experienced a ghost invasion!”
Cassie laughed. “Oh, come on, Rob. With our lives, it really wasn’t that surprising.”
“Yeah,” said Bart. “We’ve totally had weirder things happen to us.”
Steve leaned forward and pitched his tone lower as if conspiring with them. “Well, I’ll definitely be asking for some of the details on what those might’ve been later. But first, I have to ask. Robin, how did you meet Phantom? He’s that ghost in the black-and-white jumpsuit, right? As far as I know, he’s only ever been seen in Amity. And you’ve certainly never been here before.”
Tim took a breath, this was the moment. “Yep, that’s him. And, well, it may be strange, but I knew him before he was ever Phantom.”
“Before he was Phantom? Do you mean…” Steve let his voice trail off.
Tim let out a low sigh and closed his eyes. He really had to sell this. “Yeah.” He made sure his voice was rough. “Yeah. I knew him before he died. He was one of my best friends growing up and we’ve known each other for years.”
Conner put a hand on his shoulder. “Rob…”
When even Steve needed a second to figure out how to reply, Tim figured he did a good enough job. “So you know him when he was alive,” Steve said. “Who was he? Where did he live?”
“I’m afraid I can’t answer that,” said Tim. “He was young when he died and his family don’t need people harassing them. They’ve been through a lot. And I know Phantom’s reputation isn’t the best.”
Steve let out another put-upon sigh. “And there you go being reasonable when all I want is the hot gossip. Fine, no questions about who Phantom was. I’m sure you were thrilled when you found out he came back as a ghost, though.”
Tim laughed and was glad Steve was able to change the mood of the interview so quickly without him doing anything. “Oh absolutely. I near about had a heart attack when he called me up out of the blue to say he was a ghost now! This was my first opportunity to visit him since, you know.”
Conner nudged him. “So he brought us along for the ride.”
Steve hummed. “So for the rest of you, this is your first time meeting Phantom?”
“Yep,” said Bart. “I like him. He’s cool.”
“So, Impulse, you think he’s trying to help us. Because it seems like whenever he shows up, things get broken and we have to spend days or weeks and tens of thousands on repairs.”
“Robin knows more about it than I do,” said Bart, “but I guess what let Phantom cross back over to Earth is allowing other ghosts to cross back over. Phantom just wants to spend more time with his living family and friends. The others ghosts…”
“They want more than that,” finished Tim. “Phantom’s explained it to me a bit. They all have something driving them that can only be fulfilled on Earth. And they don’t care what they have to do to satisfy that drive. So Phantom steps in to try and prevent them from causing too much damage or hurting anyone. Then he forces them back to the dimension they come from.”
“In fact,” added Cassie. “We spent all night talking with Phantom and we got his side of the story on several of his fights since he first came to Amity. We’ve written it all up and submitted them to the local paper, so look in the OpEds over the next few days if you want to know the truth.”
“Oh, well now you’ve definitely got me intrigued! I think I will. Anything you'd be willing to share with us now?”
“Do you remember how a month or two ago, a giant robot was seen in Amity?” asked Tim.
“Not something I’m likely to forget!”
Tim laughed. “I’m sure! Well, what you don’t know is that he crossed over to Earth from the Ghost Zone about three or four days before you ever saw him. Phantom kept him from gaining a physical body for days before Technus was able to get past him.”
“Really? So you’re saying that without Phantom, we would’ve been dealing with that robot for a lot longer?”
“Yep.”
Steve asked several more questions about Phantom. Some serious: How does he plan to decrease property damage going forward? We’re coaching him on how to move a fight and deescalate conflict. And some light hearted: So I heard he’s a dog person? Oh, absolutely. A ghost dog adopted him a few weeks ago.
Then the questions turned more personal as he moved on from Phantom and asked about their lives and exploits. And before they knew it, the interview was over.
“Thanks for reaching out,” Steve said as soon as they left the recording studio. “You are by far the biggest guests I’ve ever had on.”
“Thanks for agreeing to have us on so last minute,” said Tim.
“How could I possibly say no?”
-----
Next
Hope you enjoyed the interview! I probably won't go into detail for the TV one since it'd just be rehashing the same information.
I no longer do tag lists, but I do have a Subscription Post if you want to be notified of updates.

Meat and Eggs are Health Foods. Ignore Technocratic Misanthropy.
Since early 2020, cardiovascular disease has killed almost twice the amount of people as the SARS-Cov-2 virus, and poor cardiovascular health increases the chance of mortality from that virus by 10.5%. Cardiovascular disease is the #1 cause of death globally, killing almost 20 million people per year, and rates and resultant mortality continue to rise. We often associate “fatty foods”,…

Tim’s not snooping, not really. Or, he doesn’t mean to be snooping. But then he hears Superman say the words 'Experiment 13' and he's out of the Cave like a bat out of hell. He has just enough time to tell Kon to get the hell out of dodge before Batman finds him, and a furious Batman is not something he wants to face alone.
Meanwhile, Kon is totally panicking. He, Cassie, and Bart have lost contact with Robin, have cut themselves off from their mentors, and have absolutely no idea what to do. Superman has turned his back on Kon, and the League will always stand with Big Bastard Blue. He's desperate, and Kon only knows of one other person who might give a damn about him.
He'll take what he can get, even if the man is a supervillain on occasion.

(If Bruce wasn't so busy investigating the Red Hood, he might have realised that, while Jack Drake is in a coma and Tim is grounded from patrol, Drake Industries goes broke. Overnight, the Drakes lose everything, leaving Tim without a cent to his name.
Jason, meanwhile, cannot believe that the Bats haven't noticed yet that something is obviously wrong with the Replacement.)
It’s weird, being poor. At the moment, Tim has precisely eleven dollars to his name. Drake Industries, gone. Their assets, gone. His trust fund, being used to pay for his father’s hospital bills. The house is gone, too. That's okay. Tim is okay. Sometimes, though, he lies awake at night, and he can’t help but wonder. Does Bruce know? He definitely doesn’t, obviously. But, does he?

(Just a little glimpse of a moment between Damian and Tim. A bit of drabble to get my writing muscles back in shape.)

surrender to the sheer force of the sky by achievingelysium
Half-turned from the door, Zuko looks up. A scarred eye widens, and Zuko reaches for his shirt, pulling it up across his chest.
“Uncle—” he gasps. “You’re here.”
It’s too late. As Zuko draws thin fabric over his chest, Iroh catches a glimpse of what he’s trying to hide. A set of bandages—and a healing wound in the shape of lightning.
(When the war ends, Iroh has only one concern—to see his nephew. Or: Iroh finds out Zuko was hit with lightning in the last Agni Kai.)

Clone Wars
Plan Besh by BitterChocolateStars
Dooku Falls too soon. Sidious is there to tempt him away earlier in the timeline. Jango is contracted for the Clone Army ahead of schedule. There is no plan to trick the Jedi into taking command of the Clone army. No trap for them to spring. Sidious steals Force sensitive children to raise along side the clones. When the time comes he will unleash them upon the galaxy. No need to waste time crafting an intricate plot from the heart of the Republic.
The Clones and the people who care for them disagree with Plan Aurek. (See Notes for Plan Besh)

How do I tell my future partner that I love my cat more than I’m even capable of loving them but they should still be happy that they came close.

The DNAngels are so funny. One of Kon’s villains steals his and his friends’ DNA to make super clones, Kon finds out, defeats them solo, and then never thinks about it or talks to his friends (that were cloned) about it again
Yeah, Kon fully has two daughters, one with Cassie, and Bart has a daughter and Kon just.... didn't say anything.
There's a quarter Kryptonian, quarter demi god descendant of Zeus, half human teenaged clone child running around doing odd jobs for Cadmus and Kon's just like "yeah that's fine 👍".
Then there's the second quarter Kryptonian (3/4ths human probably depending on who her mother is) teenaged clone child running around blindly following the first clone child's every orders. Oh yeah, and both of them have magic fire wings like Supergirl for reasons. And Conner 'clone child who resents being left alone to his own devices and desperately wants a family and is part of a dying species' Kent is like "Wild. Kay, good luck, bye!"
And then the teenaged speedster clone of Bart??? Bart's daughter???? Kon, knowing the damage that Bart can do to reality on a good day, is just totally chill with Cadmus having a clone of Bart under their control and doesn't even consider telling anyone about her. Nah, nah, nah, Kon tries to date her. Because that's normal Kon. That's a normal reaction to finding out that your best friend got cloned.

Bart's Early Days. Reasons why he was sent to Mr. Sheridan's office.
Incident #1. The Literal Kid.
Mrs. Dalrymple: Okay Bart, hit the lights. Bart: looks confused as he stares at her from his desk:: You want me to hit the lights?
Mrs. Dalrymple: Well get on with it child, we don't have all day.
Bart: shrugs:: Oo-kay. Got it. ::gets up and just punches the light switch, breaking it::
Mrs. Dalrymple: Bartholomew Allen!
Bart: What?! What?! You said "hit the lights!"
Mrs. Dalrymple: Go to Mr. Sheridan's, now!
Bart: ಠ__ಠ ...
