Eddie Munson and Sex [18+]
Warnings: explicit descriptions of s*x (minors this isn’t for you don’t fucking touch it i swear to GOD), perv!eddie my beloved, tiny bit of a daddy kink (i refuse to apologize)
Word Count: 1k
Author’s Note: i have no idea what this is. it was going to be a fic i think but then it derailed into a headcanon-y drabble. it has not been edited. i’ve been so fatigued for the past two days that getting anything written has been difficult (thanks depression). once i come up with a plot / scenario i hope to have a very tasty smut fic written soon. i just have to puke all my other ideas up first i have so many. if any of y’all have some smut ideas drop them in my inbox please i would v much appreciate them <3
Tumblr media
Eddie Munson was a dirty pervert. He frequented the local adult video store, from which he'd amassed an expansive collection of erotica. He masturbated at least twice a day. He had handcuffs nailed to his wall for exactly the reason you'd think, and a nasty little habit of stealing your underwear, often keeping it in his back pocket as he went about his day. He had explicit photos of you on his wall, pinned to the dashboard in his van, tucked in the front of his wallet.
And he was the sweetest, most tender lover on the face of the earth.
You both knew what it was like to be consumed by loneliness. Neither of you quite felt like you fit anywhere, and your romantic histories were both utterly tragic. It was your loneliness that brought you together - a friendship based on instant understanding that blossomed into a love so deep and consuming it terrified you at first. But Eddie, despite all his cynicism and hurt, gave you his affection readily and without the slightest hesitation. He showed you just how much you deserved to be loved, and you offered up all of yours in return.
Of course, knowing just how invested his sexual interests were, you assumed he was experienced. You knew he'd never really had any lasting relationships before he met you, but you found it difficult to believe a man like him could go more than a month without seeking release from another person. You assumed his body count was high, a gallery of women used for convenience and to distract from just how impossibly alone he felt. He was a man, after all - and men are really only after one thing.
That was until you had him naked, splayed out on your bed with your chest between his thighs, your mouth wrapped in a vice around his cock. He didn't last even a minute.
"I've never... no one's... ever given me a blow job before," Eddie admitted after you'd finished.
"... What?"
"I know, it's pathetic-"
"No, no."
You laughed, sitting up and kneeling beside him so you could look him in the eye.
"I thought..." You chuckled again at your own ignorance. "I thought I was like... your hundredth partner or something. Like you were fucking women left and right before we got together."
Then it was Eddie's turn to laugh.
"What? Do I really seem like that kind of guy to you?"
You shrugged, slightly embarrassed.
"I don't know... You're just really into sex," you explained. "And you're in a band. Casual hookups kinda made sense to me."
Eddie shook his head, his lips curling into a soft smile as he reached out to stroke your hair.
"Nah... not me. I, uh... I can never really get it up unless I like someone, y'know? I mean I'm horny as fuck but I never felt... I never felt okay giving it to someone who didn't give a shit about me. You're only the second person I've been in bed with. And the first I kind of regret, honestly. She was nowhere near as good to me as you."
You smiled, endeared by how endlessly sweet he was. You leaned forward, snaring his lips in a deep, intentioned kiss that he quickly got lost in, his hands raising to lay at your jaw.
"How about another blow job?" you offered as you parted, biting your smiling lip with anticipation.
He nodded vigorously, and the rest of the evening was spent working his cock in and out of your mouth, teaching him how to keep his cool and make the pleasure last.
No matter what his sexual appetite, Eddie loved nothing more than making you cum; and although he wasn’t as experienced as you thought, years of reading porno mags and watching smut films taught him plenty.
He could work magic with his mouth. The moment he got you alone in his bedroom, he pinned you to his mattress, spreading your legs wide and latching his lips to your clit, licking and sucking at you with expert precision. He could spend hours with your legs slung over his shoulders, gripping and kissing at your thighs, shoving you over the edge of an orgasm without giving you a chance to recover, savoring the way you squirmed and whined from overstimulation.
“Just one more, sugar,” he would coax you. “Let daddy make his favorite girl cum just one more time...”
And of course you would. When he spoke to you like that, your mind went numb, fucked out and sex drunk and entirely consumed by his adoration of you.
His favorite way to make you cum was (surprisingly) in missionary. He would fuck you slowly, holding your little bullet vibrator on your clit, diving in at an excruciating pace until you came, hard, flexing around his cock and bringing him all the closer to his own release. He loved watching your face contort with pleasure, pressing tender kisses to your jaw so he could listen to you moan in his ear. It was pretty vanilla, but the way he worked you, it felt like the dirtiest, most delicious thing he could do to you.
Eddie often used his erotica as a reference, which made everything about your sex life interesting. From toys to positions and even health advice, he was constantly bringing articles and photos from his favorite magazines to your attention, sometimes even reading them out loud as a form of foreplay. He wasn’t the biggest fan of watching porn while he fucked you, however - he preferred to set up shop in front of a mirror, getting off on watching himself slide in and out, the way your body moved with his, from a different angle.
He wouldn’t admit it, but his favorite part of having sex with you was laying beside you after fucking you into a stupor. He’d light a cigarette or roll up a joint and hold you in the sweetest silence, sometimes with your head on his chest, sometimes with his head on yours, but always with the lightest of kisses feathered across your skin, every inch of your body worshipped by him. He loved kissing down your back, over your collar bones, up the inside of your wrists.
Eddie Munson loved you with all his soul, and his body was how he showed it.

Post-update poll for Merry Crisis
Yes! 'Tis the season for post-update polls! Here's the link!
I haven't done one yet for Merry Crisis, so—very excited to hear you guys's thoughts!
Here goes!
Edit #1: Lol it's been like, 10 minutes so I really shouldn't be already tracking answers but I'm so amused by the split-votes on this one so far.
Tumblr media
Edit #2: Also very interesting how many of you are leaning towards MC moving back to Singapore—wasn't expecting that!
Edit #3: I love the music recs you guys have been sending in with ALL MY HEART. For the person who recommended cigarettes after sex, as stereotypical as the band name is, god that band truly has a vice grip over my heart and... ears? You have no idea how many times I listened to K. and Apocalypse. T.T Save me. My friends keep roasting me.
Edit #4: To the person who wrote "Nature itself must devolve before Nat and I are through," please know that I am now in love with you. Unfortunately I am not Nat.
Edit #5: for those who said they think Shay on the rustic island and Qiu in the art gallery/picnic = more on brand, I actually agree, but I thought maybe it would be too silly to have two bike rides w Shay back-to-back and the idea of shoving Qiu on a mosquito-infested island way out of their comfort zone is kinda entertaining to me. Just a thought. I'm still clearly undecided so your comments are highly entertaining. Keep em coming. I would be a terrible dictator if it ever came to that.

Hello. I have some questions about Donkey Kong:
-Do the DK games take place in the same world as the Mario games? I have seen some users argue that DK does not live in the same world as Mario, but comes from another universe and that sometimes he arrives in the mushroom kingdom using a warp pipe that connects his universe with Mario's universe, but I don't know if that is true or just a theory.
-Why do you think King K Rool and the kremlings stopped appearing in DK games? I know that this is because Nintendo doesn't like characters that they didn't create and that's why they don't use them, but within the history of DK games, what do you think is the reason?
The Donkey Kong games, both classic and modern, clearly take place in the very same world as the Mario games. The Mario Universe IS the Donkey Kong Universe, and vice versa. Anyone who suggests otherwise is simply incorrect, and likely isn’t all too familiar with the history of Mario and Donkey Kong or the content of the games they star in. Donkey Kong is a Mario character.
Tumblr media
Donkey Kong (Arcade), of course, is the first appearance of both Mario and the original Donkey Kong. From their inception, these two characters were intrinsically connected. Mario went on to become the hero of the Mushroom Kingdom, fighting Bowser and rescuing Princess Peach… While Donkey Kong eventually settled down and retired, becoming Cranky Kong, with his grandson taking up the mantle and becoming the modern Donkey Kong that we know today.
Tumblr media
However, the relationship between Mario and the Kongs never died. Donkey Kong and his son, Donkey Kong Jr., continued to make appearances in Mario’s life after his move to the Mushroom Kingdom, as we see in Donkey Kong (Game Boy), the Game & Watch Gallery games, Super Mario Kart and Mario’s Tennis.
Tumblr media
Then the modern Donkey Kong began appearing in Mario’s life, with him appearing in the Mario vs. Donkey Kong games, the Mario Kart games from Mario Kart 64 onwards, the Mario Tennis games, the Mario Party games, etc., etc. Note that all of the other characters in these games, such as Yoshi and Wario, are from the same world as Mario too. Then Donkey Kong even started bringing his friends (and enemies) along to events in the Mushroom Kingdom - Diddy Kong, Dixie Kong, Funky Kong - and then they started building racetracks, golf courses, boards and stadiums on Donkey Kong Island for Mario and his friends to compete on.
Tumblr media
With the sheer frequency of these connections, the idea of them being from two separate universes makes less and less sense. But, just for the sake of argument I do have some more definitive evidence. In Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze’s stage “Frosty Fruits”, one of Bowser’s Tanks from Super Mario Bros. 3 can be seen. What would one of Bowser’s tanks be doing in another universe?
Tumblr media
In Dr. Mario World, alien viruses invade Mario’s Planet, forcing everyone to band together to defeat them and save the world. During the adventure, the Mario crew makes their way to DK Jungle, bringing on Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong as doctors to help with the pandemic. Why would these viruses also be invading a planet in another universe? At the end of the game, the text states: “Mario and friends have reached the end of their journey and taken back their world, freeing it of viruses.” Notice how it says “their world”. Donkey Kong’s included.
Tumblr media
Lastly, and I think the most clear piece of evidence these two share a universe, is New Donk City. New Donk City is the location where Donkey Kong (Arcade) took place. I’d recommend reading this Blog Post I helped work on for the complete history of the location, but to quickly recap:
It’s made appearances in multiple Donkey Kong and Mario games.
In Super Mario Odyssey, we see that New Donk City is on the same planet as the Mushroom Kingdom.
In Donkey Kong Land, Donkey Kong gets to the city from his island via a Zeppelin.
In Donkey Konga 2 the city is visible from the shores of the island.
In Donkey Kong (Game Boy), Mario chases the original Donkey Kong around the world after he kidnaps Pauline once again. The chase begins in New Donk City, but after going through a Forest and boarding a Ship, they arrive at a Jungle - likely DK Jungle on Donkey Kong Island - where they meet Donkey Kong Jr. The chase continues, with Donkey Kong Jr. helping his father, until they all eventually arrive in the Mushroom Kingdom where Donkey Kong has built a Tower of trials for Mario to overcome. They don’t go through any portals or Warp Pipes during this game.
All of these locations are clearly intended to be in the same universe.
As for your second question, it appears you’re operating under a bit of a misconception. If you’ll allow me to step out of the Mario Universe and into the real world for just a moment…
Nintendo absolutely does like characters they didn’t create. Nintendo didn’t create Diddy Kong, Funky Kong and Dixie Kong, yet they constantly appear in modern Donkey Kong and Mario games. Heck, King K. Rool and the Kremlings continued to appear for a full decade after Rare was bought and almost the entire Donkey Kong Country cast received in-house redesigns from Nintendo in the 2000s. Nintendo EPD loves the Donkey Kong Country characters, with New Donk City’s streets and shops even being named after them.
No, the only reason the Kremlings aren’t in modern Donkey Kong games is because Nintendo and Retro Studios decided not to include them in order to allow their teams to flourish creatively. According to Yoshiaki Koizumi, Director of Donkey Kong Jungle Beat, Super Mario Sunshine and Super Mario Galaxy and Producer of various other titles:
“With the exception of the character Donkey Kong and the bananas, everything is original. I thought this was for the best as it became apparent the [Donkey Kong Jungle Beat] was uncharacteristic/unbefitting of conventional/traditional Donkey Kong. I think I was uncertain of my ability to show EAD Tokyo's personality.”
[Source: Nintendo Online Magazine, No. 77, December 2004]
When Retro had their turn with the series, they took things in a different direction. According to Bryan Walker, a Senior Development Director of Donkey Kong Country Returns and Mario Kart 7:
“While we were of course fans of [the Kremlings], there were simply too many fantastically talented artists at Retro to simply do a rehash of the previous art style. The Tikis were a brainstorm of one of our character artists, Quinn Smith if I recall correctly, and we quickly glommed onto them as a way to modernize the art style of the game while still remaining very true to the spirit of the original. I really love how they turned out.”
[Source: Shinesparkers, Interview with Bryan Walker, April 2022]
In Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, they yet again had other ideas. According to Vince Joly, Art Director of Donkey Kong Country Returns and Mario Kart 7 and Creative Director of Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze:
“Here was the high-level thinking behind the Snowmads, after using the more abstract design of the Tikis in Donkey Kong Country Returns, we felt that there was more that we could do to have the player relate to the Kongs' foes. We wanted a set of baddies that would thematically and physically match up well against DK as a large primate. So polar bears, sea lions and walruses all seemed like good mammalian match-ups - and that was the beginning of the story of these nomadic snow creatures invading DK's island.”
[Source: Retro Gamer Magazine, Load 237, “The Evolution of Donkey Kong Country - How Rare and Retro Reimagined Nintendo’s Platforming Primates”, September 2022]
So as you can see, the lack of Kremling appearances came from a place of creativity, not dislike. Of course the Kremlings haven’t had many other opportunities to appear. There haven’t been any Donkey Kong Spin-offs in recent years, and when it comes to Mario Spin-offs, large character rosters have become more and more taxing on developers as video games have become higher fidelity. With their lack of appearances in the Donkey Kong Country games, the Kremlings simply aren’t a “priority” inclusion for spin-off titles.
Anyway, with that out of the way, back to the lore…
Over the years, King K. Rool’s plans became more and more elaborate and laser-focused on Donkey Kong-destruction. After a series of colossal failures and humiliations, resulting in the destruction of his island and the loss of faith from his minions, King K. Rool was mostly reduced to petty competition in games like DK: King of Swing, Donkey Kong: Barrel Blast and Mario Super Sluggers, even forming a temporary alliance with the Kongs in the last example.
His last plot of note was seen in DK: Jungle Climber, where he used a Crystal Banana from the Planet Plantaen to grow to a gargantuan size - but not even in this form could he defeat Donkey Kong, with the Kongs bringing him back to Earth by tying him to the back of Xananab’s Banana Ship.
It’s possible that after all of these defeats, petty schemes and forced alliances that King K. Rool simply ceased his plots. Perhaps he continues to wait in the shadows for his next opportunity to strike, or perhaps he turned over a new leaf and is busy rebuilding Kremling society …as if!
In any case, I doubt it’ll be too long before we see him again...

When it comes to The Satanic Temple, there's always more
The Satanic Temple uses people—uses them up and discards them (or worse).
If you think you're different, look at what happened to those who came before.
TST will use any weakness you give them and hurt you with it later: your housing, mental health, even the death of your pet.
Tumblr media
Some of you may even remember this Vice article from a few years back:
Tumblr media
Ash Astaroth was then the director of the Temple's headquarters in Salem, and he was still assistant chapter head of the NYC chapter he had helped found.
So in 2016, The Satanic Temple found Astaroth useful for public propaganda, as in that Vice article, even though it wasn't necessarily representative of the organization as a whole. How could it be given who started TST (and who still owned it)?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Satanic Trump-supporter Brian Werner's sign speaks for itself, but Werner also believed abortion was "killing a child". Werner apparently found the death of Trayvon Martin very funny, or at least wanted to be edgy selling clothing about it.
TST owner Doug Misicko a.k.a. "Lucien Greaves" a.k.a. "Doug Mesner" reaching out to Shane Bugbee also says plenty, and we've covered that relationship elsewhere. Short version: "One drop of Jew blood means you ain't breakin' bread with me, motherfucker" is something Bugbee once said in the middle of a 24-hour stream with Misicko.
But Zach Black may be less familiar to most.
From The Village Voice in 2014:
Zach Black is a 38-year-old sushi chef in Northern California and a longtime Satanist. He started the Satanic International Network, the largest — though not the only — social media site for Satanists. He was a card-carrying member of the Church of Satan for nearly a decade, from 1994 to 2002. For the first few years after he joined, Anton LaVey was still alive. That made all the difference, Black says, and the church was much more “proactive.” Black is one of a group of disaffected ex-Church of Satan members who believe Gilmore was never supposed to become the church’s next leader. LaVey wanted to pass the torch to a man named Boyd Rice, an artist and writer who was a close friend, Black says. “But he turned it down. He didn’t want to do it. I’m not sure why.” ... Rice, meanwhile, went in a different direction. For nearly two decades, he was part of Death in June, a British neo-folk band that anti-racist groups have accused of supporting white nationalism. Rice has repeatedly denied being a racist or a Nazi sympathizer, a claim that was not bolstered in 2008, when an old video surfaced of him on a public-access TV show, describing Death in June as a proud “racialist” band.
In other words, Zach Black thought it was a shame this guy didn't take over Church of Satan, and therefore Black joined The Satanic Temple to get it going.
Tumblr media
Proactive.
So, back to that Vice article, the message was "We're not like those other Satanists", the Church of Satan, sure, but also Brian Werner, Shane Bugbee, and Zach Black who got TST off the ground in 2013-2014.
This distinction, which also involved throwing those men under the bus and pretending they weren't relevant, was made explicit in that interview with Astaroth.
In 2014, as [Astaroth] prepared for a life explaining away his Lucifer tattoos with a spiel about liking the literary archetype, he discovered the Satanic Temple, an unrelated though similarly-named group. It was actually an anti-Satanic Temple rant that drew him to the organization, posted to YouTube by Brian Werner, a former death metal vocalist in the band Vital Remains. "It's become a very liberal, compassionate, borderline hippie-like outlook on politics and societal issues," said Werner. "If this guy is leaving the Satanic Temple for those reasons," Astaroth recalls thinking. "That's exactly where I need to be."
Those who were there during this era would remember Ash Astaroth because he was central to The Satanic Temple's operations, first in New York City, then in the headquarters in Salem as an employee of 64 Bridge LLC, or the "Salem Art Gallery".
In this capacity, Ash comes up in the Belle Plaine lawsuit depositions:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Satanic Temple's owners "helped" Ash Astaroth by letting him move into Salem Art Gallery / TST's physical headquarters.
This sounds kind, but remember, they weren't just letting him stay as a friend: they worked him. They really worked him.
Read those depositions and email evidence from 2017, or just run a find for "Astaroth" to count how many times he's involved in a national campaign over TST's veterans' memorial. It is extensive.
Ash's housing was directly controlled by his employer.
When you are an organization that targets vulnerable populations for "help" and "opportunities" but you control their continued access to resources, no amount of smiles or love bombing or kind words will ever change the inherent threat of what's going on. Look no further than how this level of control can go to extremely dark places than recent events with the Black Hammer cult in Atlanta.
That's the context of the article that Ash Astaroth wrote after being "excommunicated" from The Satanic Temple in 2018, coinciding with the "Great Schism" where many chapters left the national Temple org over TST's owners' priorities and histories coming to light.
In the next post, we're going to reproduce Astaroth's article largely without commentary but with some content warnings where relevant. Then, at the end, we'll say a little more.
But as a general warning, watch out for self-harm and sui references, mental illness, abuse, and pet death.

Step into the Jungle with their latest album "Volcano"
Jungle, an electronic music duo spreading love, youth and dynamics, presented their new album on August 11. The album called "Volcano" made history as the 4th studio album of the British band.
Tumblr media
They announced the album with the single "Candle Flame", and with "Back On 74" they left their listeners sleepless with excitement.
The "Back On 74" clip, which appeared thanks to the cooperation with "WeTransfer", stands out for its interactivity. Click to watch the music video.
The official music video is presented as a "music video-art gallery" thanks to 10,000 posters that change with each viewing. As viewers, we can download existing posters to our computer by clicking on the walls and frames placed on the floor in the video. Instead of the poster we uploaded, the viewer after us gets a chance to see new posters.
Of course, it wouldn't be a Jungle masterpiece without their signature dance-infused rhythms stealing the spotlight. Dance is the heart and soul of Jungle, and this music video stands as a testament to that fact.
For the duo who cite one of the iconic tracks from their first album 'Jungle' - 'Busy Earning' - as one of the highlights of their career, one of the main differences of their new album is the vintage feel that brought us to GTA Vice City radios.
The voice of 22-year-old musician Lydia Kitton, who adds softness to the songs with her vocals, contrasts with Erick the Architect in "Candle Flame" and walks on the edge of the disco genre in "You Ain't No Celebrity".
The choice of sound that is repeated towards the end of the albums tries not to touch our line, because the band was also inspired by Inflo, the manager of the "SAULT" group, and the producer. Jungle member J Lloyd said in an interview with NME that Inflo encouraged him to finish the single "Casio" in 45 minutes. It's all about vibe and flow, so he mixed all the tracks on his new album himself.

Play Rage Against The M…
on Apple Music
While Rage Against The Machine have said they are never performing live or touring again, they have left behind enough moments on stage that will likely be remembered as much as their music.
From standing nude in front of a packed crowd at Lollapalooza to shutting down the New York Stock Exchange, RATM lived up to their name by standing up for the causes they believe in.
Yet there are some people (mostly those who never pay attention to lyrics) who are still surprised at the band's stance on particular issues. People should know what they are getting from a band named Rage Against The Machine, after all.

If the lyrics didn't tip them off, surely any number of the band's activism moments would provide some clues. Here are 10 of the most memorable moments of activism and protest from Rage Against The Machine's career.

Stripping Down At Lollapalooza (1993)
Rage Against The Machine were set to play a 15-minute slot during Lollapalooza's Philadelphia stop on July 18, 1993. The only problem was Zack de la Rocha didn't have enough of a voice to even make it through the brief set that would open that day's festival.
"The day before in North Kingston, Rhode Island, he had completely blown out his voice during Rage's performance," Vice reported. Instead of playing their music, RATM took the stage completely nude except for black tape over their mouths and the letters "P-M-R-C" written on their chests in protest of the Parents Music Resource Center.
The PMRC led the push to censor music along with adding "Parental Advisory" stickers to albums it deemed to risqué. After 15 minutes of standing nude on stage, RATM were escorted off by police.
No charges were filed.

Upside Down Flags On SNL (1996)
Rage Against The Machine found themselves permanently banned from appearing on Saturday Night Live following their 1996 performance on the show. As cameras showed the band playing "Bulls On Parade," viewers could also see American flags hanging upside down from the amps on stage.
That would be the only song RATM would play on the show, which was hosted by billionaire and then-Presidential candidate Steve Forbes.
The band, of course, did not go quietly. "Instead, upon hearing of their expulsion from the building, bassist Tim Commerford stormed Forbes' dressing room throwing bits of the recently torn flag as he went," Far Out Magazine reported.

Flag Burning At Woodstock (1999)
The revival of Woodstock in 1999 was so full of perilous moments, Rage Against The Machine's flag burning tends to get lost in the shuffle. The band ran through 13 songs on Woodstock's main stage at Griffiss Air Force Base in Rome, New York, closing with "Killing In The Name."
As the final notes were being played, Tim Commerford lit an American flag on fire and placed it atop the band's amps.
"The band has never shied away from making potentially controversial comments, but their stunt at Woodstock is perhaps their most polarizing," American Songwriter reported about the incident.

Shutting Down The New York Stock Exchange With Michael Moore (1999)
Rage Against The Machine enlisted famed documentary director Michael Moore to shoot the 1999 music video for "Sleep Now in the Fire." For the video, the band obtained a permit to film on the steps, and only the steps of the New Your Stock Exchange.
Police arrived once RATM began playing on the city sidewalk near the front entrance. "I remember what Mike said — no matter what happens, to keep playing," Tom Morello said in an interview with Yahoo Music.
The band did just that even has Moore was being led away in handcuffs.
Morello said the director then barked "take the New York Stock Exchange." "I go through the door, and there's this frumpy dude and a security guy in a jacket. And I'm like 'Hey, I'm here to take the New York Stock Exchange. Is that a right or a left?' And he hit the panic button and the riot police come and the riot doors slam shut."
While business did stop on the NYSE floor, only Moore was arrested.

Riot Following Show Outside Democratic National Convention (2000)
As Democrats gathered for their national convention at the Staples Center in Los Angeles in August 14, 2000, Rage Against The Machine were playing a 40-minute set across the street.
"The band had done little to incite riot; in fact, the sharpest comment to come from singer Zack de la Rocha during the show was his sloganeering statement 'brothers and sisters, our democracy has been hijacked,'" Rolling Stone reported.
A handful of protesters stuck around the area following the show to taunt and throw rocks and bottles at police. Rolling Stone said four people were hurt and 10 were arrested following the incident.

Zack de la Rocha's Coachella Comments (2007)
Rage Against The Machine disbanded following Zack de la Rocha's departure in 2000. A 2007 reunion saw the band play a handful of dates including a headlining spot at Coachella. During the festival's final day, Rage was all business on stage with de la Rocha being fairly reserved until the final song.
"Although he said virtually nothing between songs, de la Rocha finally spoke out in the middle of 'Wake Up,' the set closer, saying, 'This current administration... should be hung and tried and shot, as any war criminal should be,'" Diffuser reported.

Arrests After Show Near Republican National Convention (2008)
A free show Rage show in the same city as the Republican National Convention? What could possibly go wrong?
"Rage Against The Machine showed up at exactly the time we were scheduled to perform, and as soon as we got out of our vehicle we were immediately surrounded by riot police who told us if we approached the stage, we'd be arrested for playing music," Tom Morello said of the Sept. 2, 2008 incident in St. Paul during an interview posted to SuicideGirls.com.
Morello claimed police tried to say it was a "permit" issue even though the band had the proper permit. "But like all rights, you can't take them for granted, and when they're denied to you, you have to take matters into your own hands, which is what we did."
They still found away to get in the middle of the crowd to play a few songs amplified by a bullhorn. The band donned orange Guantanamo Bay-like jumpsuits and black hoods during a performance at the nearby Target Center the following day.
The show ended with a demonstration in the streets and more than 100 arrested.

Rage Fans March To Democratic National Convention (2008)
It was a busy year for Rage Against The Machine and political conventions in 2008. In late August, the Democratic National Convention kicked off at the Pepsi Center in Denver.
Rage were performing less than four miles from the venue on the same night. According to the Los Angeles Times, 50 Iraq War veterans led nearly 4,000 protestors from the concert to the convention.
"The marchers said they wanted to hold Obama to his promise to end the Iraq war and called for him to pull troops out immediately," the Los Angeles Times reported. Riot police arrived shortly after, and so did a member of Obama's campaign who agreed to meet with the group. "And then the veterans marched off into the night," the newspaper said.

Boycott Of Arizona Due To Immigration Bill (2010)
Rage Against The Machine played in Los Angeles for the first time in nearly 10 years on July 23, 2010 while vocally boycotting performing at any venues in Arizona.
The L.A. show was used to raise awareness and funds to protest a bill in Arizona that would allow police to "demand 'papers' and investigate immigration status if they suspect a person is undocumented," according to the ACLU.
In an interview the night of the show shared by NoiseCreep.com, Tom Morello said Rage wanted to "galvanize the musical troops" to help the cause.
Nearly $40,000 was raised the night of the show.

Tom Morello Stands Up For Workers In Illinois (2021)
Tom Morello released the single, "Radium Girls," as part of a solo project in 2021.
The inspiration for the song actually dates back to the early 1900s. Morello told NME.com "Radium Girls" is based female workers in watchmaking factories who died from radiation poisoning after being told to lick paint from brushes by supervisors.
"I spent every summer as a kid near Ottawa, Illinois where these doomed girls used deadly radium laced paint to make glow in the dark watches," Morello told the website. The guitarist's mother was a school teacher in nearby Marseilles.
Even today, Morello continues to leave flowers at a memorial honoring the girls anytime he visits the area. He was given the key to the city of Marseilles in 2022 during a ceremony unveiling a plaque honoring a laborer who was shot during a 1932 protest at a nearby dam

April Bey
April Bey
https://www.april-bey.com/
April Bey was born in 1987 and grew up in the Bahamas, but now lives and works out of Los Angeles. She is a visual artist and an art educator. A lot of her work focuses on her culture, feminism, AfroFuturism, AfroSurrealism, post-colonialism, and redefines blackness out of the context of white supremacy.
Her style and materials are a diverse array of printmaking, painting, collage, video, and immersive installations. I think her use of textiles and patterns is what makes her work so unique. She has a beautiful way of incorporating both her Bahamian and American cultures, is executed so well and portrays them in such a colorful and uplifting way. I love the stitching and fabrication of her work under “Atlantica” on her website. The colors used throughout this collection are so bold and full of life. The use of fabric and textures brings a new level of flamboyance and glamour. I enjoyed the fact that for the arrangements and installations for this collection, the pieces are not hung on a plain white wall, but rather textured, vibrant and colorful backgrounds. It definitely sets a tone for the viewing of her work and the theme of the exhibition.
Currently, Bey is a professor at Glendale College and is represented by Gavlak Gallery Los Angeles. Along with that she has launched seven solo exhibitions; Picky Head at Liquid Courage Gallery in Nassau, Bahamas, COMPLY at Coagula Curatorial in Chinatown, Los Angeles, MADE IN SPACE at Band of Vices Gallery in West Adams, a large survey of work spanning several years, Welcome to Atlantica at Fullerton College Art gallery, Atlantica: The Gilda Region at The California African American Museum and When You’re on Another Planet and They Just Fly at Gavlak Gallery Los Angeles. She also has her work exhibited internationally in Italy, Spain and West Africa.

Get the greatest deal on Samsung Galaxy S23, Dual Sim, 8GB RAM, 128GB, 5G, Phantom Black at Menakart
INTRODUCTION
The Samsung Galaxy S23, one of the greatest tiny phones in the world, has improved recently. It is now faster, more durable, better connected, and has a larger battery. We anticipate the Galaxy S23 to become a fan favourite in the compact sector because it is still as compact, light, and appealing as ever.
The first thing you'll notice about the new Galaxy S23 devices is their improved look. There are now merely three tiny rings for the lenses instead of the previously contour-cut camera housing. Additionally, Gorilla Glass Victus 2 sheets with increased drop protection are now used for the front and back glass panels.
Available at Menakart. Buy now at the Lowest Price Online.
https://www.menakart.com/samsung-galaxy-s23-dual-sim-8gb-ram-128gb-5g-phantom-black.html
The slim 6.1-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen with expanded 1080p resolution and dynamic 120Hz refresh rate is still present in the Galaxy S23. The panel's peak brightness has increased from 1300 nits on the Galaxy S22 to 1750 nits at this time.
Now, you no longer need to import a Qualcomm-powered device if you don't like the Exynos platform (we won't hold it against you), as the complete Galaxy S23 family employs a Snapdragon chipset for the first time in a long time. Even better, Samsung used an overclocked variant with faster CPU and GPU speeds that were only available on the Galaxy S23 phones. The latest models also use Samsung-produced next-generation memory chips.
The 50MP OIS main, the 10MP 3x telephoto, and the 12MP ultrawide cameras on the rear have not seen any modifications. The selfie camera has been improved; it is now 12MP and supports Super HDR, and it is still capable of autofocus and 4K capture.
The battery now has a 3,900mAh capacity after a 200mAh capacity boost. The same 25W wired charging capabilities found on the S22 are also available for wireless and reverse wireless charging.
The Galaxy S23 introduces tri-band Wi-Fi with 6e compatibility and Bluetooth 5.3 in terms of connectivity. The Plus and Ultra versions are still the only ones with support for Ultra Wideband.
In a nutshell, the Galaxy S23 is a faster, brighter-screen version of the Galaxy S22 with a larger battery. And better design, whereas beauty is purely a question of personal preference.
There is no denying that the Galaxy S23 is a flagship in every sense of the word. It has the design, screen, CPU, and cameras of a high-end smartphone. The only features we believe are lacking is support for Ultra Wideband, a connectivity option that would have allowed support for the 10-bit colour depth for the screen that many high-end phones offer, and these two features.
We suspect that many Galaxy S22 owners will find enough surprises in the Samsung Galaxy S23 to convince them to upgrade as it is only a small improvement over the Galaxy S22. However, it boasts a lot more new features compared to the Galaxy S21 and earlier models, making it a tempting deal. Even better, it appears to be the greatest little Android phone available.
The Galaxy S23 is packaged in a thin paper box together with a USB-C connector and a SIM ejection tool. Samsung stopped including chargers and headphones in its shipments a few years ago, but we are happy that it continues to include cables (unlike Sony). Are you already prepared to purchase a Samsung 25W charger, which has been around for a while, or any USB-C PD + PPS power converter?
Prepare yourself for a gallery filled with jaw-dropping nighttime photos. Due to Nightography's improved AI, low-light photographs and videos will be vivid and colourful from twilight to morning and vice versa. Even in low light, the Dual Pixel technology in the front camera focuses more quickly and precisely. Selfies that rival real life in authenticity thanks to object-based AI.
You can also acquire razor-sharp nighttime films in addition to the static images that predominate in the dark. Even the front camera can now shoot clear videos of you and your pals when the sun goes down. Together with a potent microprocessor, the 50MP Wide-angle Camera quickly combines frames to extract. Also to improve shadowy, hazy photos as well as elegant old family photos or online photos, visit the Gallery. Additionally, you can update fuzzily animated GIFs by lowering noise and increasing clarity to keep your loops appearing modern.
Before purchasing Menakart, if you're thinking about buying a Samsung Galaxy model but aren't sure which model to pick, read our in-depth evaluation of the S23 model.

Monica Ikegwu’s “We’ve Always Been Here” at Band of Vices.
Opening on Saturday, September 14th, 2019 at Band of Vices Gallery in Los Angeles, California is artist Monica Ikegwu’s solo exhibition, “We’ve Always Been Here.”
Issues of identity, power, societal ideas, narrative and the history of art are some of the themes that surface in Ikegwu’s work along with a youthful sense of joie de vivre, confidence and self-assuredness are hallmark themes which emerge in her portraiture. She uses art as a tool to elevate the visibility of her African American subjects. As an emerging artist, her sensibility is being created and developing before our very eyes. There is evidence of a thoughtful and brilliant mind at work, from the title of her show alone, one that is incredibly prescient and knowing, “We’ve Always Been Here.”
The exhibition will be on view until October 12th, 2019.

9 Black Art Galleries To Check Out That Are Putting The Work Of Black Artists On Full Display
9 Black Art Galleries To Check Out That Are Putting The Work Of Black Artists On Full Display
Black gallerists are integral to the Black art economy.
Tumblr media
We sing the praises of many visual artists. However, much credit is due to the facilitators of Black art for amplifying the names and works of artists we might not otherwise be familiar with. Black gallerists have pushed African American art, making it accessible and consumable for Black communities…

↠ Rules for Requesting | Masterlist
Tumblr media
• rosaria is the girl that takes no bs from any of the guys in your class and has no problem revealing embarrassing secrets to other girls from other sections about the guys *ahem, tohma, kaeya childe, ahem* that have a crush on them.
• kaeya pokes you with the rolled up cartolina he buys from the canteen and when it gets crumpled, rosaria makes him go buy another one but not before hitting him with it too.
• kaeya also as the guy who goes around asking for materials from another group to bring to you so you wouldnt asterisk his name in the final submission.
• kazuha who has a lot of female friends because they gossip to him and he is very invested.
• albedo getting excused from class frequently for science contests. he reaches all the way to nationals too, everyone whines when he gets exempted from the science exam.
• student police head scaramouche. he lets his friends get away with wearing improper uniform under their jackets during checking in the morning.
• class pres. jean and vice pres. lisa, who gets mad at the class for jean.
• klee, diona and qiqi are the teachers' kids that they take with them to the classroom.
klee sits on albedo's lap and he lets her draw over his notes.
diona reads over kaeya's answers to the activity and giggles, pretending they're wrong before proceeding to look at everyone's answer.
qiqi is content with watching movies while sitting at the teacher's desk.
• sucrose, noelle and barbara have literally anything and everything in their bags. complete notes too, you can bet everyone has at least one picture of one page of their notes at the end of every quarter.
• beidou, tohma, kaeya, childe, scaramouche, and rosaria. you'd think they don't have breakfast at home because first subject and they're eating siomai rice from the canteen already.
• tohma sees you at the front of the line in the canteen and he automatically goes to you, totally disregarding the other people in line even if you arent close 😭😂.
• ningguang terror leader. just show up on time for practices, actually cooperate and pull your weight and she'll be good.
• during free subjects, xiao lets you rest your head on the arm of his chair.
• albedo or zhongli staying back after class helping you make the props for the class presentation.
• childe forgets his book / module at home, so he shares with you, leaning over until you prop it between your armchairs.
• xiao letting you rest your head on his shoulder on the jeep on your way home.
• childe/tohma/kaeya forgetting their umbrellas at home and suddenly ducking under yours because you have the same jeepney station and his friends are left fending for themselves in the rain.
• xiao/albedo with bracelets and those rubber arm band things - im not sure what they're called - and are reminders of contests they've won and souvenirs for places they went to for competitions.
• we've never had a prom :(( what's it like :((
• diluc is quiet, but has derpy pictures of everybody that he posts on their birthday as a greeting. xiao too. and albedo. they make it a contest to see who has the most in their gallery by the end of the year.
• additionally, kaeya, childe and tohma (lovingly being labelled as the three idiots) are the ones that volunteer you for competitions because they think you're good at something.
im getting carried away again-

PART FOUR OF THE COMEDOWNVERSE/BAND AU WITH @hungryheartpotter AND @wolfbuck
 VICE UK, 2017
     http://vice.com/en/article/interviews/votre-populi-on-new-album-and
HOME // Entertainment // Interviews:       Votre Populi on their upcoming album ‘The Comedown’ and Married Life
Rising from obscurity in the recent months, London AltPunk Revival band Votre Populi has skyrocketed to the top of the UK Alternative charts and has quickly made its way overseas to a budding North American audience as well. I had the pleasure of sitting down with all five members at VICE UK HQ on Monday for their second interview with us, and was thrilled to find what every other modern punk-loving publication has said so far to be true: all five rockers are as handsome and charming as they are talented.
Votre Populi's face and voice, Sirius Black, is the notorious Bromley Contingent-style punk prettyboy who has stolen the hearts of Instagram users of all genders, but the band is more than just his lovely face; guitarist Remus Lupin, bassist James Potter, drummer Lily Evans Potter (that’s right folks, they’ve got a GIRL drummer!) and Peter Pettigrew on the synth.
Lily and James, as pictured in our gallery, tied the knot in spring after dating for three years, and have a baby boy called Harry as of the 31st of July. I wanted to ask the big questions, and know how their life as parents and newlyweds has affected the band.
VICE UK: First of all. Welcome back to the VICE UK office. It’s so great to have you here again, and after such a busy year!
LILY: More like during, really. Album’s not ready yet, after all, and after that, there’ll be another bloody tour.
JAMES: But thank you! We’re happy to be here.
SIRIUS: Yeah Lily, don’t be a sourpuss.
LILY: (laughing) F**k off, you. Don’t tell me not to be a sourpuss until you give birth.
VICE UK: I can imagine it’s been very trying, Lily. A big wedding, a new baby, and then another album! How do you do it?
 LILY: Drugs and alcohol mostly.
 PETER: She’s kidding.
LILY: Obviously. The real answer is making the men do everything else for me. What use are men if they aren’t going to wait on me hand and foot?
 SIRIUS: Hear hear!
LILY: Okay seriously, of course being busy has been stressful, but it’s also been very easy. I have an incredible support system, between these idiots and my family and James’s family, and our friends… The list goes on, but I assure you, I’ve been very lucky.
VICE UK: Oh, that’s so sweet! I’m sure having your husband there with you helps quite a bit. What about the other three? It must be strange to have two band members married. Do you ever feel left behind, or do you have special someones as well?
