Kentarou is a delinquent werewolf who was taken in by Reader. Hes in his second year of highschool, a track kid whos involved with the wrong crowd. Till he meets the Schools volleyball Ace.

Part Four

Kyotani x Hajime

It was after school now and Kyotani was waiting for Hajime outside the school like he asked him too. Hands in his pockets and cigarette in his mouth with an angry expression on his face. He was only going for the food, thats it. He groaned into the stone wall he was leaning on , switching his cigarette to the other side of his mouth with his tongue when Ayme ran over hugging his hips and dipping her fingertips into his pants.

“Let go” he told her, shimmying away to lean back again.

“What are you doing ? we gotta get ready fo the party” she told him a little huffy.

“What party” he asked, puffing out smoke through his teeth, he could feel his wolf was agitated, he always was when Ayme was around him.

Aymes parties were not parties, anything but; everyone was drunk or high and grinding on each other. Kyotani could not get drunk anymore since he was a werewolf so he just stuck to smoking his cigs while everyone practically threw themselves at him. He did not care much for it and often left unsatisfied each and every time. Ayme and her friends often tried to play on his ‘ Mad Dog’ nick name during sex and it just pissed him and his wolf off more. His wolf tried to take over one time and Kyotani had to force him back down , he had never had to do it before and trying to focus while he had girls on him was not easy. He left as soon as he could to go change in the woods and kill something.

“My partry!! I told you about it at lunch!”

“Mm..” he was looking around now.

“I know you dont drink but cmon baby.” she moved back to him touching his belt. “I promise this will be different”

“Oh yeah?” he looked down at her puffing smoke in her face

“Ack.. yes! We were talking and… what if we let you tie us up?”

“Id tie you sluts to the bed and leave” Hajime was finally coming into view

“Hmph!” Ayme stepped back folding her arms. “Just you wait , youll show up at my door one day begging for me” her tone changed and she ran a hand down his tone chest. “And you can do whatever you want big boy”

“Am i interrupting something?” Hajime came over to see Kyotani looking very pissed off and Ayme touching his hips.

“yes you are!” she told him “we -”

Kyotani pushed her off and started walking. “ no, were done talking”

“Hey! Kyotani! Just cuz your a third year doesn't mean you can interrupt !”

Hajimie flashed her a smile “ sorry, but i have no idea who you are” and left to catch up with Kyotani.

Hajime jogged over to the angry boy and slowed to a walk next to him.

“So are you gonna ask where my house is or are you gonna walk around aimlessly?” Kyo puffed some smoke looking in the other direction.

“Do you need to let anyone know your not going right home?”

“Pfft..”

“Hey uh, you think you could put that out?”

Kyotani stopped walking to give Hajime a glare, his cigarette shining bright red at the end. Hajime stopped and gave Kyotani a happy grin. “Smoking is bad man, pretty please? “

“Screw off”

Hajime got closer, rubbing on Kyotanis side whispering in his ear . “for me? Mad Dog?”

He jumped in his skin feeling goosebumps travel from his neck to his chest . “the fucks your problem?” Kyo said moving away hitting a stone wall leaving him no options for a exit. Hajime walked over cornering him but left his left side open ,

“Im just looking out for you.” he flashed a smile and Kyotani felt his wolf stur around in him, he felt slightly aroused as well. Why though? The fuck. This was just some volleyball kid , no one important. He didnt need anyone, not you , not Ayme and not him.

“ i can look after myself”

“Even when your backs against the wall?”

“Yes”

Hajime backed off giving Kyotani some space. “Look. you can damage your body over time by smoking, happend to my dad ,thats all. “ he looked away scratching the back of his head talking a little low. “Just dont want to lose you yet , you seem cool..”

Kyotani had enhanced hearing thanks to his wolf and Hajimes words made his heart skip a beat, he could call him out on it if he wanted to . but he was confused by these feelings.

“What?” was what he finally said.

“Nothing, you like hamima chicken?”

“Fuck yes i do”

“Good! Cuz i've got plenty”

Kyotani watched Hajime walk past him with a smile on his face. Kyotani stood there for a minute trying to focus on his wolf. “ knock it off…” he told himself as he flicked his cigarette away to catch up with Hajime.

Kyotani was sitting at the island in Hajimes kitchen watching him make the Hamima chicken, no one else was home yet so it was just them, his wolf was still on edge and he was even more aroused now. What was his problem? Its just Hajime, no one important. Kyotani caught himself looking at the boys chest a alot and his arms, so tone.. Lean.. fuck. He shook his head and looked down pulling out his phone.

Kyotani/ Ma

Y.n/ yes kyo? Are you alright?

Kyotani/ im at a

He looked up to see Hajime still cooking , he looked down at his phone again.

Kyotani/ im at a friends house, his name is Hajime so ill be home later

You were at work staring at your phone with utter disbelief on your face. Kyo never told you where he was or texted you. And it was a boys home and not that.. Ayme girl.

Y.n/ okay Kyo, ill see you tonight, have a good time.

Kyotani looked up again to see the food in front of him on a plate with a water and Hajime leaning on the table looking pretty smug. Kyotani picked up the food taking a rough bite out of it. “Like it ?” Hajime asked coming around the island to sit next to the quiet boy.

“Its fine”

“Just fine? Im hurt.”

“Pft..” Kyotani looked away still eating and felt a finger on his cheek scoop up some food . Kyotani looked back to see Hajime eating the piece of chicken. His face felt like it was on fire , Hajime leaned close to Kyotani whispering in his ear.

“You can at least say it tastes good… i worked so hard on it”

“Maybe you need to pull it out of me”

“Oh yeah?” Hajime smirked moving back a bit. “Throw a dog a bone?

Kyotani was feeling very flustered and aroused at everything happening. Never before had he had any interest in guys, his wolf was not fighting it or trying to rip him to shreds . Hajime leaned back in his seat spreading his legs slightly and leaning on the island. Kyotani put his food down and looked Hajime up and down, his wolf forcing him up off the chair.

“Cmere Mad Dog” Hajime said low.

His wolf forced him to take a step forward , Kyotani gripped the island leaning down so he was eye level with the smirking boy.

“Yes?” Hajime asked, leaning forward taking in Kyotanis scent.” you smell like cigarettes”

“I dont care, i -..” his voice trailed off once he felt Hajime brush his lips against his. Kyotani sucked in air and Hajime pulled him on his lap . “cmon Mad Dog, loosen up for me” he lightly pressed his lips against the confused boys mouth.

“Ff!” Kyotani stumbled into the boys lap falling into his kiss. He laid his arms on the boys shoulders, kissing him back , his wolf was rejoicing inside him, he never felt better than he does right now. Normally he would make Kyotani growl at Ayme and her slutty friends but right now he was pushing Kyotani in more,

Kyotani pulled away breathing through his mouth staring at the boy in front of him watching him lick his lips and bite the bottom one. Hajime rested his hands on the tall boys hips leaning back in the chair rubbing in little circles with his thumbs.

“You haven't killed me yet” The smug boy said.

“Shut up..” Kyotani sat down on the boys lap looking everywhere but him, he could feel his gaze on him though.

“Have you never kissed a guy before?”

Kyotani growled looking back at the boy and Hajime pursed his lips together smiling big.

“Im flattered, “

“Pft..”

“I guess i shouldint of done that, your girlfriend will be upset”

“Girlfriend?”

“That girl touching you after school”

Kyotani clicked his tongue leaning forward a bit till their elbows connected. “Shes not my girlfriend, just a quick fuck.” his lips were tingling from the kiss still.”unsatisfying fuck” He added, even though it was not really necessary .

Hajime pulled Kyotani closer, smelling the cigarettes in his clothes still, he looked down looking for the pack of smokes on his person. Kyotani’s heart was racing. He wanted more, why ? why was his wolf trying to get him to do more? It felt nice .. was that it? Feeling nice is .. nice…

Kyotanis hands lingered down from Hajimes shoulders to his neck drifting down to the boys chest , his thumbs pulling it up. He had gotten the shirt half way up taking in his tone chest. From all that stupid volleyball obviously. No cuts or anything , no bruises.. His left hand held the shirt up while his right one felt all around the boys chest. He could hear Hajime breathing pick up in his ear and Kyotanis heart was going nuts, he ran his fingers all along his chests slowly… slowly moving down to his pants. His fingers gliding along the black belt.

Hajime had found the pack of smokes in Kyotanis pocket and reached in taking them out and holding them up leaning back in the chair, he also pulled his shirt back down .

“This needs to stop, if you want to do more”

“Excuse me?”

“The smoking”

“What makes you think i want to do more huh ?”

Hajime patted the boys hips with his free hand . “still sitting on me”

“Shut up..” he got up off the boys lap walking into the island.

“And well..” he pouted when he saw his lap was empty , “you were getting pretty handsy” Hajime looked up and lifted his shirt teasing the werewolf. “Pretty sure i felt hands on my belt too”

Kyotani huffed looking away at the fridge ignoring the arousal in his pants. Hes just another guy, no one important. Just take the smokes back Kyotani..

“Im unsure about all of this” he finally said.

“Im okay with friends with benefits, but the smoking needs to stop” Hajime got up still holding the pack.

“Fine”

“Fineeee?”

“Ill stop fucking smoking”

He held the pack out shaking it around lightly. “Break each and everyone one of these sticks in here if your serious”

Kyotani snatched the smokes from him opening it up , he reached for one and stopped to stare at the 7 smokes. Its not like he paid for these smokes, Ayme always supplied him with them. He would never get sick from them because of his wolf so he could technically keep doing it without a problem… but … Hajime would smell it on him and .. he cant say why he wont get sick..He pulled a couple out of the pack halfway and broke them. Why..? why was he..? A couple more snapped. He never listened to what anyone said, so why was he doing this? Why did he care? Another, one left. Something about snapping these smokes was .. relieving. His wolf was happy and he felt stronger. Snap. the pack fell on the island and Hajime smiled up at the angry boy.

“You actually did it.”

“Were you expecting me not too ?”

Hajime got closer to the boy running a hand up and down his chest. “Yeah if im honest, felt like you were gonna tell me to fuck off”

“Pft..” Kyotani touched Hajimes chest lifting the shirt again.

“Like what you see?” he teased pulling Kyotani closer

“Shut up”

“Cmon… be a good boy for me” He whispered in his ear

Kyotani felt his cock feel hot at those words, good...boy..

“Sit down then.”

Hajime pulled back sitting back in his chair , his arm leaning on the island to support his head, he rubbed his lap slowly. “Okay, sitting.”

Kyotani rubbed his shoulder trying to ignore the tension in his pants. “Can you..”

“Hmm? “Say it again.”

“Say what? Be a good boy for me?” His cock was straining against his pants now. “Yes , christ. Yes okay?”

Hajime straightened out on the chair leaning forward with his elbows on his knees. “Cmon Kyotani, be a good boy for me”

“..ff.. Fuck..” Kyotani swatted the boys arms away and sat down on his lap , Hajime grabbed his hips kissing him again . he leaned back in the chair smirking , pulling Kyotani closer slipping his tongue in his mouth.

Answers for meme

This was something I wanted to do whether anyone sent something in or my own. So my own.

1. What was your first OTP?

I can’t even remember the first one. It’s been years.

2. What is your current OTP?

These two.

3. Do you have any OT3/OT+ ships? What are your favorites?

Not really any at all...

4. What is/are your favorite trope(s)?

slow burn romance.. something that builds! I want to write in this one day.

5. What is/are your least favorite trope(s)?

I am guilty of writing this one. Love interest dies in front of their s/o. Original universe. I can’t write this for fan pairings and such... but my own originals. They have hell. I also can’t stand abused as a child trope and that magically connects. Or the doomed pairings. There is angst and then there is overdone. These tropes I see them overdone so much in a way where it is stagnant. It doesn’t move a pairing forward as much when the focus is all on character A’s bad history and B is just sympathetic to it without support.

6. Do you have a certain kind of ship you’re more attracted to?

I notice I tend to lean towards soft and sweet ships. Things that have chemistry between them.

7. Are most of your ships “pure” or “problematic”?

Pure. Never problematic.

8. Who is the most shippable person you can think of?

Aymeric. He has potential to be shipped in a lot and is in a lot of pairings. Everyone comes up with beautiful things for him.

9. Are there any fandoms you don’t have any ships for?

Undertale I refuse to touch it. There is maybe one “canon” pairing but overall no.

10. Do characters have to have canon interactions for you to ship them?

I think having some interaction is kinda needed to gauge a connection or not.

11. What makes a great ship in your own opinion?

Chemistry. Something you can feel between them. It makes writing all the better and the art even more when you can see and “feel” it.

12. What drives you away from a ship?

Typical. What is the “expected” ship. I don’t really like over-hyped stuff and I tend to lean away. Also that “problematic” stereotype. Particular I can’t stand the tropes of abuse. I shy away from them.

13. Is there anything you ship but refuse to interact with the community for?

Ulquihime. I use to be in the community. Not anymore. I just enjoy it for myself.

14. Has a fanbase ever made you ship or not ship something? Why?

I have a list here. The most that stands out is anything that deals with Steven’s universe, and Black butler. I can’t and won’t get involved with the fanbases. Ever.

15. Do you like/participate in ship wars? Why or why not?

I hate them. Why police people over what they enjoy? I use to be in the Ulquihime vs Ichihime fanwar. I then grew up and decided “this is dumb when everyone should be able to enjoy their pairing in peace.” Some got downright vicious to the point me and a bunch of friends left it.

16. Are there any ships you just can’t/don’t understand? What are they?

Anything that is clear pedophilia support. You know the fanbases. The ones where there is a clear age gap. It’s illegal, it does not need that support and should be uprooted and called out for what it is. I left Undertale because of that. The amount of CP being drawn/written was so rampant and disgusting.

17. Are there any popular ships that you just don’t like? What are they?

It was Ichihime. I didn’t feel the character chemistry like others did.

18. What is your favorite unpopular ship?

My own!

19. Do you prefer fluff, angst, or smut for your ships?

Uh... obviously it is fluff and smut. I write it.

20. Do you prefer bigger fanbases or smaller ones?

Smaller ones. But bigger ones have more content!

21. Have you ever received hate for a ship you liked?

Yes. Bleach and Undertale. I got a lot of hate in Bleach. I saw a bunch of my friends harassed in UT and Bleach that drove away amazing people.

22. Do you have any ships that you ship, but would never want to see as canon?

Nope.

23. Have you ever had a ship become canon, but you didn’t like how it was portrayed?

Most of my pairings are not canon at all. Because one of them is usually dead! x.x

24. What is your favorite canon ship?

I don’t know If I have one honestly.

25. What are your favorite ships from a dead fandom?

Kamigami no asobi is pretty dead. Hades x Yui. They’re adorable.

26. What are your favorite shipping scenes?

Those rare moments where you see more than just they’re together. You see the relationship build.

27. What are your views on reader x canon ships?

I write and read them.

28. What is your best shipping advice?

Enjoy your things. Only you are in charge of what you like (unless you know it is illegal) But I see so much hate go down for popular and how people ruin others just for going against the grain.

29. Do you like OCs (Original Characters)?

I have my own universe I have created. Full of rich characters and things I visit in my head. A lot. All the stories, the fandoms, the characters we fall in love with are someone’s oc’s.

30. What are some of your favorite shipping blogs?

Yumeaino, Wind-up dragoon. Ladyramora, and some of the other writing blogs out there. But yumeaino and Kiri are becoming favorites for watching the dynamics of how they create their pairings with favorites. yume’s because she is another Aym fan like me.

So, remember me and another anon's requests about Forneus with a Kitten!Reader? Well, this time I had an idea... What would happen when Aym and Baal reunite with their mother - and find out they have a younger kit as a sibling now? Would it be a sweet ending for all four of them, as a big family?

If headcannons are easier, then go ahead! I just found this to be a perfect opportunity for a "sort of ending" to the small Kitten!Reader storyline with Forneus! ^^

"Mama! The Sacred Lamb is here again!!"

"'tis alright, dear. Allow them a moment of rest. See if they're interested in any of our wares." You heard Forneus' voice call out from inside the caravan.

While she was busy putting together more trinkets to sell, you sat outside the little shop, having learned the ways of business thanks to her. You ensured the stack of gold nuggets were in a neat pile, and the gift box's red bow was perfectly placed.

Everything had to look perfect for your customers!

Today, you wondered what the Lamb was going to pick, as they were only permitted to choose one item for free.

However, when you saw them emerge from the clearing, your eyes wandered to the two floating brown-furred demons flanking either side of them. They were surrounded in a white glow, their yellow gazes sharp and piercing.

You were a bit familiar with many of the lesser demons they brought on their crusades. They took many forms: bows, hearts, blades, bombs...

But never the heads of felines.

Curious, you stood up and approached them respectfully. "B-Blessed Lamb...what demons are those?" You meekly asked, hands clasped together. "What do they do?"

The bearer of the Red Crown was about to respond to your inquiry, but then they saw Forneus emerge from the caravan and stopped. Instead, they whispered to you that they were "gifts" that your mother so dearly yearned for.

Although a little confused, you stepped aside so she could see them. You noted the demons' harsh stares softened significantly upon locking eyes with her--

And became a bit startled when she suddenly fell to her knees, as though knocked over by a strong gust of wind.

But there was not a breeze to be felt.

"A heart remembers..a mother shan't forget.." She muttered in astonishment, trails of tears already staining her face. Yet her smile was brighter than the sun. "O, generous fortune! Should I be dreaming, never allow me to wake!" She cried, holding her paws out. "Kit, fraction of my beating heart!"

One of the demons floated over to her, and in a puff of smoke it turned into a black cat adorned in white clothing. He wore a camelia flower upon his breast, and the warmest of smiles on his face.

'That...must be Baal..' You realized, watching as he hugged his mom, a single tear sliding down his cheek.

"Ah, Lamb! Praised Lamb! Blessed Lamb! My son returned, soul almost whole!" Forneus beamed in joy, looking to the other demon that remained beside Lamb, beckoning it over to her side.

And it did exactly that, turning into another black cat who wore red and black. He had some nicks in his ear, a scar running across one eye. Yet despite his scary appearance, he completely crumbled in the loving embrace of his mother, crying several tears of joy.

'And that's Aym.' You smiled sweetly, seeing that both of her biological sons have been returned to her.

This was a happy day, indeed. You had hoped to meet them sometime in your life..and here they were now.

After Forneus thanked Lamb by bestowing them with new relics to use on their journeys, they went on their way, wishing all of you the best. Although they never explained how exactly he managed to bring them back, it didn't matter.

She offered Aym a cookie to cheer him up, but just as he was about to take a bite...he noticed you standing there and blinked. "Mother, who is this?"

"Yes, who are they? Are they a kit you've taken in?" Baal questioned.

The air suddenly felt very heavy and tense as you just stared back at them, offering a nervous smile. Yet your heart was beating even faster than before.

Up until this very moment, you didn't even consider the fact that you were a complete stranger to them.

What did they think of you?

Did they see you as some random cat who tried taking their place in their mother's life?

If so, what was going to happen now?

"Fear not, my darling kits." Forneus soothed, hugging her sons close. "This is [y/n], whom I have fostered when I found them all alone in these harsh lands. My heart forever bled for you two when you hadn't returned...but they mended much of those wounds, keeping me company."

"...it's true." You spoke up, relieved that she defended you as you wrung your paws together anxiously. "She told me a lot about you guys. I know it seems strange, but please understand...I-I never tried to replace-"

"We understand." The brothers spoke in unison, smiling as they detached themselves from their mom and approached you.

"That blasted--erm...sacred Lamb.." Aym corrected himself. "..they brought us back, reminding us of many good virtues in the short time we've been in their cult. Understanding..forgiveness...charity...such foreign ideals I used to scorn. Yet here I feel...I can embrace them wholly again."

"I feel it, too." Baal chimed in, his smile never fading as he offered his paw to you. "How could we resent the one who helped our dear mother in our absence? We'd love to get to know you better....um.."

"[Y/n]." You felt your shoulders relax as you shook hands with him and Aym, grateful at their kindness.

Then, out of nowhere, Forneus swept all three of you into a loving embrace, squishing you against each other and her.

"What a blessed day this is! Such a blessed day! May we never part in this life nor the next!!" She cooed, with Aym groaning in embarrassment, Baal smiling bashfully, and you simply taking in this precious moment with your newfound brothers.

At last, this once severed family was made whole again.

could you do a Shamura x blind reader, the reader was Shamuras right hand ( kind of like how Baal and Aym are with Narinder) nut lost their sight during a crusade, since them Shamura had been very protective of them and treats them with lots of care.

Being chosen as Shamura's right hand was the highest honor.

You were picked not only for your combat skills, but also because you because you proved to be an excellent guide to the bishop when they needed it most, especially after Narinder’s betrayal left them weak in mind and spirit.

You’ve always been by their side, tending to their every need and answering for them if a follower approached.

During one of your crusades, however, Lamb was also in the same area, being quite new to Silk Cradle. And they were currently fighting a Bomb Scout.

You tried to intervene, attempting to find a way to stab Lamb from behind, but the bomb thrown was abruptly deflected in your direction when you least expected it--

And it exploded near you, sending debris and shrapnel into your eyes.

The scout was killed shortly after, and Lamb assumed you were dead too, so they moved on.

But you were in fact alive..only to be completely blind.

Shamura rescued you after hearing the explosion, shocked at what happened and rushing back to the cult for treatment.

Sadly it was far too late. Nothing could save your eyesight.

Even Kallamar couldn't..no matter how much his eldest sibling pleaded. So you wore a blindfold made of silk for the rest of your days.

Adjusting to this new life was difficult, even though you were very familiar with Silk Cradle.

It still hurt, and you struggled to get back into combat...mostly bc Shamura was fearful of you getting hurt even worse next time around. They wouldn’t let you crusade alone anymore.

You understand, given they also took care of Leshy, but you didn't wanna give up yet! It would be years before you even considered retiring from your duties!

Despite them wanting to protect you from all the dangers in the world, you have to reassure them you can handle it.

You do, however, find it comforting to know you won't be thrown out because of this.

Shamura still saw potential in you....and wanted to keep you closer to them than ever before.

I had a silly idea where in one of her trips, Forneus encounters a young kit (reader) lost in the woods, and because the kit reminds her of her own kits she decides to take them under her care!! They prolly warm up and call her "mom", which just warms her heart even further - pls, she needs happiness!! 😭

Could be headcannons, if it's easier to write! 😅

It’s been a few months since Forneus surrendered her children to TOWW. The heartache forever remained, but lately she’s rediscovered reasons to live and go outside.

The Old Faith was sometimes a hostile place, though if you knew where to look and at what time, it could be beautiful and calm.

So she was wandering about, gathering materials to weave gifts for weary travelers. It was a business that she took up some time ago. While not many found her hideout and purchased things, that was fine with her.

‘Someday, the right buyer will come along.’ She promises herself.

She even bought a tarot card from Clauneck and found slabs of commandment stones to make her caravan shop more appealing.

During one of her trips to Darkwood, she stumbled across you--a small kit who looked scared and alone, likely cast out from one of the cults.

In an instant, Forneus’ heart melted.

Your sweet eyes and fluffy ears/tail reminded her of her own beloved kits...

How could she just leave you out here by yourself?

Although you’re wary of strangers, she entices you to come along with a sewn plushie, letting you keep it as she led you by the hand through the forest.

After reaching the safety of her home and getting settled in, you shyly tell her your name.

“Oh, that’s a lovely name..[y/n]..” She smiles warmly, cooking up a bowl of stew for you. “I’m Forneus. You can stay for as long as you want, dearie.”

“...could I stay forever?”

“Absolutely!”

“...a-and call you “mom”?”

For a moment, Forneus freezes mid-stir..and at first you think you said something wrong. Her abrupt silence worried you.

But then she turns to you with the warmest of smiles and scoops you up into her arms.

You’re instantly enveloped in the warmth of her flannel and fur, hugging her back. “S-Sorry. Of course you can.” She chuckles, tears in her voice. It made her so, so happy.

While it’s true that the void Aym and Baal left in her heart could never be filled, you raised her spirits.

And she vowed to raise you well, giving you as much love as she did her kits.

So I saw this post (thank you to the one Anon, if you see this) and I was wondering if you could a Forneus x Kitten!Reader oneshot where it's the holidays (Thanksgiving or Christmas, your choice) and the tiny kitten (the reader) goes out to get Forneus a gift? They think that it's terrible but Forneus adores it?

As the winter season swept across the lands of the Old Faith, the Bishops and cultists from all four domains had made their preparations for the annual Yuletide festival. This was one of the few times they all celebrated together as one.

Today marked the start of a huge celebration that comprised of feasts, rituals, and gift exchanges galore. An event that lasted from dawn to dusk, and all through the night.

For many people, it was a joyous time for friends and family to come together, and for others..it’s simply a much needed vacation from backbreaking cult duties.

As for Forneus, well, it used to be a happy time for her and her children--back when the three worshipped Narinder and the Old Faith was relatively balanced. But alas those days were lost to the wind.

Holidays didn’t feel the same anymore without them..her beloved kits who she gave up to the one they all loved most.

Since their untimely departure from her life, she lost her motivation to enjoy the Yuletide season. Without anyone to celebrate it with, it was hard.

Then...she found you, who put that spark back in her.

Even now she wasn’t sure why exactly you were abandoned in Darkwood, but she knew you couldn’t go back to the cult. There’s no telling what they might do to you. So she basically became your new mother.

This year, she was determined to give you the perfect holiday season that she once gave Aym and Baal. You deserved it.

Thus she searched Darkwood for a suitable tree to put inside her home, before decorating it with handmade ornaments--most being of Narinder’s likeness. She also added garland and ferns all around, using cotton as fake snow so it’d never melt.

Finally, after you’ve gone to bed for the night, she carefully slipped some presents underneath the tree, hoping you’ll like them. Each one was handcrafted and wrapped by her. Weeks of work well-spent, she believed.

However, all of that hard work made her fairly exhausted, so by the time you were awake and ready to open the gifts, she was still sound asleep in her room. You didn’t wanna make a fuss over her needing sleep, though. Instead you went out to see the tree yourself.

All of the gifts under it were labeled for you, but there were none for her.

And that made you frown slightly.

That didn’t sit quite right with you. She deserved at least something to make her spirits bright, too! And you were going to find one.

So after grabbing your cloak, gloves, boots, and weekly allowance, you quietly snuck out of the house to search for the perfect gift for your mother.

Although it was quite cold, most of Darkwood’s creatures were in hibernation, so they were the least of your worries. All that mattered was completing your mission.

You were, in a way, on a crusade for something important.

Something worthwhile.

Something that Forneus will love.

Eventually you crossed paths with a hiker who sold stuff for a living--namely parts of Darkwood creatures, like a bat’s wings for soup or a burrowing spike worm’s teeth for weaponry. But they had something in their stockpile that caught your eye:

A green wreath woven from a chaser worm’s leaves and wooden horns. It even had a beautiful red bow on it! It was the perfect gift for the holidays!

Because you were only a young kit, the hiker sold it to you at a discounted rate, but you paid a little extra for the wrapping materials they carried, too. And after bidding them safe travels, you quickly returned home before your mother woke up.

Fortunately, she was still sound asleep, so you got right to work wrapping the wreath carefully, labelling it for her. Then you went back to the decorated tree and kneeled down to slide the present underneath it-

“Good morning, [y/n]. Too excited to sleep, I see?”

Your ears perked up at the sound of Forneus’ chuckles, and you turned to see her in a robe, yawning as she rubbed the sleep from her eyes.

Trying to act like you weren’t just in the Darkwood forest, you nodded and faked a small yawn. “Yeah..very. But..before I open my gifts..I-I want you to open yours first.” You smiled bashfully, clutching the present before walking over to hand it to her.

She blinked in surprise, a big smile overtaking her face as she accepted it. Clearly she wasn’t expecting to be the recipient of a gift; she was always the giver. “Awh, [y/n]..that’s very sweet of you. Thank you! I’m eager to find out what this is.”

You nodded and scurried onto the sofa, sitting down as you patiently waited for her to open it.

Yet...part of you began to worry that she wouldn’t like it for some reason.

You weren’t sure why you had this thought so suddenly, but...maybe it’s because you merely bought her a gift as opposed to making it yourself. You didn’t have the crafting skills she did. It looked difficult, though to her it was just like breathing--easy.

The last time you tried sewing something, the needle slipped and jabbed your paw pad. It hurt for a while, with Forneus having to treat it and gently remind you that you should be supervised next time.

“It’s the thought that counts”, she reassures you when you showed her the half-finished product.

But even now, you felt disappointed in yourself.

Why didn’t you at least try to craft something that didn’t involve needles? Buying stuff seemed lazy.

Despite this, you kept a smile on your face as she unwrapped the wreath. For a few moments she gazed at it with wide eyes, before looking at you. “Dear, you..bought this for me with your allowance?”

“..yeah..” Bowing your head, you were ready for her to be disappointed next. Or at least reprimanded for going out without her permission.

But instead, you heard her putting the wreath down before enveloping you in a hug.

“Oh goodness...thank you! You gave me such a wonderful present!” She exclaimed, purring happily. “Yes, we shall hang this on the door..or above the fireplace, if you prefer. It’s beautiful!”

You were surprised she adored the gift. But you were happy that she wasn’t upset, making you grin as you hugged her back. “I’m glad you like it, mama!” A purr rumbled within your own throat. “You’ve given me so many nice things..I thought to return the favor. But needles don’t like me very much...”

“Awh, that’s okay. I appreciate it, my little one.” Forneus’ heart was fuller than ever before. “Thank you so much. You don’t know how happy this makes me feel.”

She used to dread this exact day every year..sitting in her lonely caravan and making small talk with the occasional traveler, her heart aching in secret.

Now? Things were so much better.

She had a reason to enjoy the season again:
