An idea for a silly joke that arose when I saw someone point out how barren Henry's cell was in comparison to Sammy's: What if Henry as a former player character just can't be trusted with too many things in his posession
Audrey (pointing at Henry's cell): What is this supposed to be? You consider this an enclosure? There's no enrichment in this enclosure other than a measly sketchbook!
Keeper: Ma'am, every time this subject was given anything more than this, it has breached containment. We cannot even trust it with a bar of soap.

Does fae!König get upset that Ghost and Love grew the baby that could have been his and liebling's? Does Love tell Liebling that Little Cabbage came from the thrown out seed? Canon or not, the baby is cute
Tumblr media
I was already thinking about this. This is Liebling's nightmare scenario. Which means it's her POV.
You don't think you've ever seen Ghost enter the shop not looking like he's here for your immortal soul. Similarly you've never seen Love look so put together. You have also, and this is the most important part, never seen that baby before.
The little one asleep in the carrier strapped to Ghost's chest, a little pink scrunchy hat and hello kitty sunglasses on its tiny head as it snoozes. You're almost too distracted by the fact Ghost has the baby to notice Love's shirt proudly proclaiming in hot pink, "Baby Thief." Ghost grabs the back of her shirt collar before she can launch herself at you.
"Behave," He tells her in a firm voice, letting her go when she drops her arms from their grabbing position. "I'm going to talk to König, ask your question nicely."
"I'm always nice." Love tells him, Ghost hums like he doesn't believe her and wanders off further into the store. Love turns the full force of her attention on you.
"Who's baby?" You ask, eyeing her shirt.
"Mine." Somehow you don't believe her.
"You weren't pregnant. You would've told me." You remind her, gently as you can. She hums in the same tone Ghost did, nodding her head slightly.
"Funny story. You remember that weird seed you said you'd never plant in a million years because it could Audrey two your ass?" You nod, half listening as you watch König bend down to wiggle his fingers at the baby on Ghost's chest. You can see Ghost's mask moving, he must be saying something, his large hands holding up the baby's to point towards Love. "Well I figured I'd plant it since you didn't want it," No, not pointing at Love, at you, "and it grew a baby."
König's head snaps to look at you so fast you don't have time to process what Love just said before all your blood drains out through your feet. His eyes bore holes through you, cold fury radiating off of him almost visible in the way shadows seem to collect around his form. His limbs are all wrong, body wrong, eyes so red you think they might have invented to color. His teeth bare through his obscura. He takes a step towards you and you shove your hand in the small bowl of Iron rings on the counter faster than you can think. Unable to move and break his gaze, but at least able to make him think twice about coming after you right this second.
Ghost grabs König's arm, his grip as unflinching as the metal you slide onto your fingers, holding König steadfast as he speaks. Your breathing feels far too quick and uneven as you boyfriend takes a careful step back into his previous conversation(into his human form) and breaks your gaze. Love's grip on your arm comes into focus over the ringing in your ears, the tight warmth of her hand, you pull your attention back to her. The look of concern on her face is one you haven't seen before.
"I'm fine," You shrug off her hand. Your body too hot and too cold, darkness fuzzing the edges of your vision.
"Sit down," You sit heavy on your stool behind the counter, you hate when she does that, and shake off the tether she burned, "looked like you were about to faint. Listen I didn't come to give the kid back, she's-" Love looks over her shoulder at Ghost and the baby, you've never seen that look either, she shakes her head and looks back at you, "I came because I wanted to ask if you'd be her godmother."
"Is Ghost asking König to be godfather?" You ask, trying to process whatever the hell is happening in your life before you have a panic attack.
"God no," Love snorts, "Soap's the godfather." You have no idea who that is. "No, Simon's just showing off."
You both watch the specter of death lift the baby from her harness and snuggle her against the crook of his arm so König can see her. For all the softness, you can tell how watchful Ghost's eyes are, how closely Love watches as well. Almost on edge when König's fingers shake the baby's tiny hand. It makes you uneasy. What do they think he'll do? What were you afraid he'd do?
"Why are you asking me to be godmother?" You try to quiet your anxiety, bring Love's attention back to you. It works well enough.
"Because you're my friend?" She really only knows how to raise more questions in your life. You stare at her.
"We're friends?"
"Bitch." She snorts, you blink, not sure what's funny. She pulls out her phone and taps a few things with a shake of her head. When she turns it to face you it's your text conversation. "We text all the time every day, I come to hang out with you at least once a week, the fact that I can steal shit out of your house? Come on."
You're not sure what her sticky fingers have to do with your friendship, but she raises some valid points besides that.
"As long as you're not trying to give it back."
"Not on your life." Love grins, you do your best to smile back.
"Then sure, I'd love to be godmother." Well, maybe love is a strong word, but you're flattered and she's right you don't think you have a closer friend.
A tiny wail bounces through the store, Love's gaze snaps to Ghost where he's bouncing the baby. König has his hands up like he's afraid to touch it, or is attempting to maintain his innocence in the new tears. Ghost waves him off and makes his way back over to you and Love. Handing the fussy bundle to Love's waiting arms.
"Pourquoi pleures-tu mon petit chou?" She coos down at the baby, tucking it against her shoulder to bounce gently. You gotta admit it's a pretty cute little thing, still you're glad it's not yours. You grip your fist tightly, feeling the dig of metal against your palm as König hovers nearby.
"Wir werden später reden," He promises, low and dangerous, just for you to hear. You can feel his desire to touch you, held just at bay by the iron jewelry.
"I didn't know you spoke French," You smile at Love, anything to keep her around longer and delay the inevitable.

Frankie is—
—a bit drunk tonight.
But it’s his birthday.
And he’s always been a happy drunk.
There’s no falling on the floor. No getting up in other patrons’ faces. Just cheeks ruddy and round from freely-given mirth.
He’s harmless as a puppy and just as excitable.
Whooping with cheers whenever anyone sinks a pool ball into a pocket, whether they’re on his team or not.
_____
He had made the trip out to northern California for the occasion, wanting only to spend his day with his daughter.
But the boys catch wind of his plan and throw in for an Airbnb on the coast for the occasion.
And in the process of planning, Santi and Benny cook up a four-beer deep idea over an empty pizza box to arrange an extra gift.
Aud, what are your thoughts on Fort Bragg? Santi fires off on a text thread between the three of them.
I’m glad that they’re changing that name, guy was a cunt.
Sorry no, California. Benny clarifies. But also, agreed.
Is that not named after the same guy?
Santi sends the house’s address at the same time Benny sends, it is yeah.
Catfish wants to spend his birthday out there with his kid and we couldn’t let him celebrate alone. Pope attempts to steer.
Wondering if you might want to tag along? Last week of June.
Send me a venmo request for my part of the booking.
_____
Something warm blooms in Audrey’s chest at the sight of Frankie with his friends, quietly strategizing over forest green pool table felt.
He throws his arm around Benny’s neck and thumps Santiago on the back when they win this round, uncaring that he and Will have lost the last three.
“Can you please play this one, this score is embarrassing,” Will leans over on his bar stool with arms crossed against his chest, voice raised just enough so Audrey can hear him over Garth Brooks being played at a decibel below ungodly volume.
“Already told you, if I play, it’s over in one turn,” she takes a swig of beer, “that’s no fun for anyone.”
“Losing isn’t fun either though.”
She studies Will in the haze of neon-red tinged smoke. Audrey’s only known him for three hours, but she likes him already. Enough to grant him this favor.
“Fine.”
She slips off her bar stool and shimmies her jeans higher up on her hips before shrugging the leather jacket off of her shoulders.
“You playin’, Moose?” Santiago calls with a grin.
“One round,” she holds up a finger, “save these boys some shame,” she finishes as Will hands her a cue. The minute she lifts it off the ground she murmurs “not that one,” and Will swaps her out.
“There’s no way she’s that good,” Benny quips to Pope as he racks up the balls.
“I—do not have as much confidence as you on that,” Santiago carefully lifts the triangle and slots it back under the table. “You should probably know better, Benjamin.”
“You boys are fucked,” Frankie loops his arms around both of their shoulders as Audrey chalks her cue.
She places the cue ball towards one rail behind the second set of diamonds and glances behind her, gauging the space before leaning down to eye level, bouncing and spinning the cue in her hand to get a feel for its balance before she takes her first shot.
Audrey sinks two balls on the break.
She quickly assesses the table when they come to a stop. “Stripes, do I need to call the pocket?”
“No need to be a show-off,” Pope quips.
“Fair enough,” she slips around the far side of the table and sinks the 9-ball in a corner. It lines the cue ball up perfectly and she drops 14 in a center pocket.
One lap around the table and a glance at the boys to be sure she has clearance before Audrey knocks the cue ball just off its center point, gliding it across felt where it transfers its spin to 15, sending it swirling down the rail into a corner pocket. She slips around to the opposite side of the table, banking the cue ball off the opposite rail and into 13, which slips neatly into the center pocket nearest her.
“What went in on the break?” Benny calls.
“11 and 2,” Will answers where he’s calmly perched on a barstool against the wall.
She could miss now and he’d still be impressed.
She won’t.
The cue ball is dead center on the table and 10 is sitting a foot short of a corner. Audrey circles the table, chalking her cue as she analyzes angles. The best shot is from the end nearest the three boys but she’ll have to reach for it.
She stands in front of them and murmurs “sorry, boys,” before she hikes one knee up on the side rail and leans down, chest nearly grazing the table.
Frankie covers Benny and Santi’s eyes from where his arms are still braced on their shoulders.
His eyes, however, are locked on her ass.
They hear 10 drop in before brushing Frankie’s hands away.
Audrey bounces the cue ball off the edge of 12, popping it into the nearest pocket.
“Oh, that’s done, she’s got it,” Benny murmurs when the white ball comes to a stop directly in line with the corner pocket nearest Will, the 8 ball sitting perfectly in the middle of the shot.
Audrey sinks it and Frankie whoops, clapping both men on the back before rushing around the table to grab Audrey in a bear hug that lifts her up off her feet.
“FUCK yeah, baby!!!” He screams, taking her face in his hands and mashing his mouth against hers.
“Okay, down boy,” she quips with a smile.
“Well played, Moose,” Will holds out his hand for a shake.
“Alright, the rest is on y’all,” she hands the cue off to Will. “I gotta hit the restroom and then I’ll pick up another round.” She makes her way around the table, Benny and Santi congratulate her with claps on the back before she’s off down the hall.
“Hell of a woman you got there, Catfish,” Will chalks his cue.
Frankie answers with the quirk of a brow and a smirk that drips with filth.
One of the patrons recognizes Benny from fight night and it causes a stir. Turns out Will knows him from high school and everyone’s fascinated with what a small world it really is, attention distracted enough to allow Frankie to slip away.
_____
Audrey wrenches the door to the bathroom open and collides with Frankie’s chest.
“Jesus, Francisco.”
He backs her up with his body, kicking the bathroom door closed and latching it as his mouth crashes against hers, twisting his cap around backwards.
“You’re fuckin’ amazing, baby.” He smashes her against the wall with his broad form, craning low to kiss at what skin he can get to under her turtleneck before giving up and sucking on her earlobe.
“Yeah, well, I guess” she pants as Frankie drops to his knees and grabs at her hips, grinding the bulge in his jeans against her shin as he mouths at her stomach through the fabric of her shirt, “don’t play pool with a sniper.”
Frankie is fully hard as he ruts against her, pulling clumsily at the button and zipper of her jeans. He inhales against her mound and moans before quickly getting to his feet.
Harmless as a puppy and just as excitable.
He’ll sniff crotches and hump legs too, apparently.
Audrey grabs his face between her hands in an effort to center him, dipping her tongue into his mouth before Frankie pulls back.
“Fuuuck baby,” he reaches down to squeeze his cock through his jeans, “I’m not gonna make it, baby, I can’t–”
“Frankie–”
“Shhh, gatita, please,” he clamps a hand over her mouth as his forehead thumps hard against hers, “fuck,” he huffs, “I’m gonna. Pull those pretty panties down for me, beautiful. Just a little bit.”
Audrey is positively dying to see where this goes.
She slips her jeans and thong down her thighs, eyes locked on Frankie’s locked on black lace.
“Right there. That’s my pretty girl. Yeahh,” he shifts around to free himself from his jeans and she moans into his palm where he slides the hot, hard length of him against her center.
Frankie indulges for a moment, slipping his cock against the smooth wet of her lips.
“Shit,” he hisses before gripping himself in his fist, brown eyes searching green for permission.
And having it, he starts to pump his cock.
It takes him less than a minute before thick ropes of semen spurt into the gusset of her panties as he groans against the back of his hand where it’s still clamped over her mouth.
“Gatita?” He lets go on a ragged gasp once his hips have stilled and he’s worked himself through.
She puffs an acknowledging breath against his palm.
“I’m gonna make it up to you, I swear,” he lets his hand drop but keeps his forehead pressed against hers.
Frankie’s fingers move down to hook in the waistband of her lace thong before he slips it, warm and sticky and reeking of his spend back up into place.
“Keep that for me?” He slips his tongue in her mouth, fastening the button on her jeans and dragging the zipper closed. “I’m gonna come back for it.”
He presses a final, wet kiss to her lips, warm palm resting briefly on her cheek before he slips out of the door.
He leaves her frayed with want. Panting through burning lips as her head thumps back against the wall.
Sometimes she wonders if Frankie Morales is the filthiest motherfucker alive.
Two hours later when he cleans her cunt with his tongue—cap twisted round backwards on his head, wet panties stuffed into the pocket of his jeans—she realizes he probably is.
He probably is.
And he's hers.

Family Day Out
Tumblr media
Family is everything
Pairing: Stucky x Reader
A/N: Sorry I have been so absent, my life has been so chaotic.
I will try to post more often.
Summary: This story is about a domestic and fluffy day in the life of the Rogers-Barnes family.
——————————————————————————
You woke up to the sound of little footsteps approaching your bedroom door. You opened your eyes to see Aurora, your and Bucky's daughter, standing at the door with a wide grin on her face. "Good morning, mommy!" she exclaimed, bouncing on her toes.
"Good morning, sweetie," you said, sitting up in bed and rubbing the sleep from your eyes. "What time is it?"
"It's time to wake up, silly!" Aurora giggled.
You chuckled and scooped her up into your arms, carrying her back to her bedroom. Bucky was already up, sitting in the kitchen with a cup of coffee in hand. "Good morning," you said, giving him a kiss on the cheek.
"Morning, doll," he replied, grinning at you. "How'd you sleep?"
"Pretty well, all things considered," you said, smiling at him. "What's on the agenda for today?"
Bucky took a sip of his coffee before replying. "I was thinking we could take the girls to the park. It's a nice day outside, and I know Aurora would love to play on the swings."
"That sounds like a great idea," you said, nodding in agreement.
Audrey, Steve's daughter, came bounding into the kitchen, her blonde hair bouncing behind her. "Morning, guys!" she said, grinning at all of you.
"Good morning, Audrey," Bucky said, ruffling her hair.
"So, what's the plan for today?" Audrey asked, hopping up onto one of the stools at the kitchen counter.
"We were thinking of taking you and Aurora to the park," you said, smiling at her.
"Yay!" Audrey exclaimed, clapping her hands. "I love going to the park!"
Bucky finished his coffee, and the four of you got ready to head out. Aurora put on her favorite dress, a blue and white sundress that twirled around her legs when she spun. Audrey opted for shorts and a t-shirt, and the two of them looked like polar opposites.
Once you arrived at the park, Bucky lifted Aurora onto the swings, pushing her gently back and forth. Audrey was already off exploring the playground, climbing up the slides and running around with the other kids.
You sat down on a nearby bench, enjoying the warm sunshine on your skin. "It's nice to just sit and relax for a bit," you said to Bucky.
"Yeah, it is," he said, watching Aurora swing higher and higher. "I love being able to do stuff like this with her. It's something I never thought I'd have."
"Well, now you do," you said, smiling at him. "And you're an amazing dad."
Bucky's cheeks turned a little pink, and he leaned over to give you a kiss. "Thanks, doll," he said, grinning at you.
The rest of the afternoon was spent playing on the swings, exploring the playground, and having a picnic lunch on a nearby blanket. As the sun began to set, you all headed back to the car, tired but happy.
As you drove home, Aurora and Audrey chatted excitedly about all the fun they'd had at the park. Bucky reached over and took your hand, squeezing it gently. "I love you," he said, his voice filled with warmth.
"I love you too," you replied, smiling at him.
You all arrived back at the house, and the girls headed up to their bedrooms to get ready for bed. Bucky helped Aurora into her pajamas, while Steve did the same for Audrey. Once they were both tucked in, you and Bucky sat down on the couch, snuggled up together

Ahhhhh okay okay!! So hear me out but hear me out  So imagine Bennys dating a famous singer, Think like Jessica rabbit aesthetic type dresses performing in clubs or at some of his chess matches as a way to entertain the people who aren't there to watch and she's french (sue me lol) so calls her stuff like Mademoiselle, Ma cherie and she calls him Monsieur or something like "Perverted American!" as a joke but they're really really in love with each other and everyone totally knows bennys dating this Famous French singer and he just gets a kick out of watching her perform and she has this this Audrey Hepburn type vibe and song voice, So like a TONNNNN OF FLUFF BUT WITH SOME SMUT AT THE END I BEG OF YOUUUU FICTION WITCHH🎶 TO LET THIS HAPPPENNNN POR FAVORRRR
I sat on the small stool with my elbows against the bar, a blue ribbon in hand watching people mill about the hotel lounge. Little light came through the windows now as it was getting late but the city of Vegas outside was still lit with its flashing colours. The lounge is busy with competitors and press for the tournament as well as the typical Vegas hotel guests. Many of the chess boys were nursing their egos with whiskey and martinis. The small stage across from the bar where a band is playing some gentle jazz is barely even audible over the muttering of people in the lounge. Even if I couldn't help but check my watch for the time knowing how soon it would change. I noticed a familiar sight saunter over sitting on the stool beside me setting his pad and pencil on the bar top as he ordered himself a drink
"Watts"
"Towns"
"Do I really need to ask or should I just copy and paste your usual stick?"
I chuckled "Beautiful venue, impressive crowd, the fourth round was a struggle but nothing I can't deal with." I explained and he noted that down "What do for you?"
"That's fine, you okay?'
"Fine, thinking what to spend my prize money on"
"You know what I mean"
"I'm fine," I shrug
"How's that girl you were talking about?"
"Girl?"
"That girl you were… seeing?"
"Ah, you mean y/n."
"Yeah that girl"
"Ah ah, woman. She's not a girl." I corrected
"You actually brought her this time?"
"Ohh she'll be around here somewhere" I smirked
The moment I uttered those words a woman drifted in right on time, from the long corridor leading to the front desk and casino floor through the glass doors into the lounge as if in slow motion. Her black dagger pumps with a strap around her ankle stepped onto the carpet skin tone stockings without a single ladder blood red seams up the back of her legs the left slightly crooked, She wore a skin-tight red dress with a sweetheart neckline and the hem sitting just above her knees even from here I could see every curve of her body in that dress, around her waist a black belt perhaps an inch thick tied in a small bow at her back three buttons from her waist to her neckline and then off the shoulder black straps that caressed her breasts and settled so perfectly across her arms, she wore black gloves that reached her elbows, in the crook of her elbow a small black leather channel handbag with a golden chain. Her lipstick was perfectly highlighting her Cupid's now the colour matching her dress perfectly, a dagger-like flick of eyeliner and I'm sure more that I couldn't see or name, her long y/c/h sat hovering above her shoulders where it has been tightly curled likely sat on rollers for hours giving her this sculpted but still fluffy curls of hair. Many turned as she entered the room a few conversations stopping short even more so as she stepped to the stage walking up setting her bag down and whispering instructions to the band. She walked to the mic giving the stand an adjustment. The room silenced as people found seats to watch as the band began their music and the moment she opened her lips it was like time froze.
I smiled no matter how many times I'd heard her she still sounded like an angel, Everyone watched her but even in this crowded lounge I still felt as if she was just singing to me, My heart fluttered unable to prevent my smiles, people had even now gathered at the door from elsewhere in the hotel many who were walking past but so captivated by her they had to stop. After a few songs, her set was over and she ended it the way she always does blowing a sweet kiss.
Immediately applause erupted and she began getting set to leave
"So? Where is your lady then?" Towns asked
I saw her grab her back so I set my beer down "Do excuse me a moment towns" I told him getting up fixing my jacket and heading over to the edge of the stage I wasn't alone several boys lingering there She went to step down the stairs but I offered her my hand which she smiled at and happily took sliding her hand into my own I guided her down the steps
"Mademoiselle" I smirked
"Monsieur" she smirked back giving my cheek a kiss and fixing my hair before she headed to the bar on her own I smirked and followed her as she took my seat at the bar
"My my I never thought I'd be in the presence, miss y/n y/l/n" Towns smiled taking her hand to give it a kiss "I've a lot about you"
"Humm all terrible I hope" she smiled
"No, no All remarkable. Mostly from Benny"
"Awww, my sweet little promoter" she smiled
"Really though I think half the hotel's just here to see you" Towns explained
"You flatter me too much really" she smirked "Monsieur Watts? Mind fetching me something"
"You're usual?"
"Yes please" she smiled
so I ordered her, her usual drink a Black rose having to explain to the barman how to make it as it's not a common drink here, Once he handed it over I paid and sat down beside her "You're drink mademoiselle" I smirked
"Why thank you" she smiled happily taking it and giving it a test sip immediately grabbing the rosemary sprig to stir it a little more
"Don't I get a tip?" I asked her
She smiled and gave my cheek another kiss "Thank you Ma cherie"
"I would love to know how in all the wide world you two ended up near each other let alone actually together?"
"Come on Towns you all don't care how, you're all just jealous I got her" I smirked wrapping my arm around her waist
"Still, very interested in the how," He says glancing between me and her
"You want to tell the story or shall I?"
"Go ahead" she smiled "You so enjoy it" she smirked getting her handbag open and plucking out her square matt black Chanel compact mirror that matched her handbag, and the small golden tube clicked open the compact holding it in her palm as she twisted the tube to reveal the red bullet lipstick inside so she could begin to touch up her make up
"Alright" I smiled "Well I headed over to Paris for the tournament as usual, and after the tournament, I went to the hotel bar and met up with a friend of mine, Clio. We sat and had a drink and a chat same as usual and she told me her sister was doing a performance at a bar a few blocks away. So we headed down and got a table and a couple of drinks. And there she was." I explained resting my hand on her thigh "She started her set and even if I could barely understand any of it, I was smitten. Never been so captivated in my life"
She put her mirror away and smiled "I came to sit with them but never even bothered to get a drink, I talked his little ear off."
"Well I wasn't exactly going to stop your beautiful voice was I, Ma cherie?"
"We talked so much Clio went home and we hadn't even noticed. We were in there all night the owner kicking us out when he wanted to go home,"
"I even ended up staying in pairs an extra three days just to spend more time with her, But when I went home I missed her badly, I kept calling you every other night because I missed you so much" I smiled taking her hand
"So I had a little word with my manager at the time as I was due to start a North American tour in a few weeks anyway, added an extra week in New York" she smiled squeezing my hand "We spent every day of that week together he showed me all the lovely new york spots, we went out for dinner every night, even took me to the king and I on broadway"
"That cost me an arm and a leg I can tell you, but it was worth it a thousand times over to see how happy it made you, and to hear your own rendition in the car on the way back to your hotel you were twice as good as her"
"Don't over-flatter me Monsieur" she smiled
"She was fantastic, I half told her to go audition herself. we had a lovely week but It was almost too nice"
"I had a little tag-along for my tour, from New York to San Francisco. My the loudest applause at every show. One could say I've had a little tag-along ever since"
"Or maybe you've tagged along with me ever since"
"Well that's certainly up for debate" she laughs "But I just found it all so perfect here, wasn't a month or so later I packed up my things and came to New York to stay"
"You left Paris? for that grey basement?" Towns asked
"It's not that bad" I argued
"I like it, very nice acoustics. Now if you'll excuse us Monsieur Watts and I need to get up to our room if we're going to be on time tomorrow"
"Of course, you two have a good evening" Towns nodded
We finished our drinks, and she offered her hand "Monsieur" so I happily took it
"Mademoiselle" I gave her hand a kiss as I helped her up from the barstool and we headed out hand in hand. I couldn't help but smirk keeping her on my arm always kinda felt like showing off as we headed out and up to our hotel room.
"Quiet a show tonight" I smirked as I locked the hotel door
"I think it went alright, but I think my second song wasn't the best," she says immediately kicking off her heels and bag, sitting at the small vanity in the hotel room pulling her hair up into a bun and slowly removing her make up
"Don't be stupid you were perfect Ma cherie" I smiled throwing my jacket and hat, sitting on the bed to kick off my own shoes and getting up to give her head a kiss as she worked "Same as you always are"
"Nothing is ever perfect, we can always improve. Would you say any of your games were perfect?"
"No, but you should see you sing from this side" I smiled wrapping my arms around her shoulders
"And you should see you play from this side" She smiled leaning back to give my lips a little kiss I went and continued to get changed for bed grabbing a book to read as I got comfy, but I never even opened it as I merely watched her stripping away the makeup and beauty that she had worked so hard to create leaving her as this sweet little face that she so often hid, all the little parts of her face that she hid with her makeup and glamourous clothes and watching it all peel away made me so happy seeing her in this way that only I got to see. and I suppose as I glanced down at myself without my intense clothes, and attitudes that frighten the chess boys. I suppose she too saw me in ways only she ever gets too. That and our shower is in our living room, she has definitely seen me in ways no one else has. Once she was done slipping on her little black nightie and climbing into bed "Hi"
"Hi," I smiled wrapping my arms around her "Ready for bed?"
"Ummm not quiet"
"No?"
"No, I figured as we're surrounded by your chess colleagues, I thought you might... want to show off a little" she cooes nuzzling into my neck
"I think I did enough of that in the lounge I was getting daggers stared into my back"
"True, but wouldn't you like to annoy them even more" she cooes "Je veux que tu me fasses crier, toute la nuit. Monsieur"
It took me a moment as I was still not that great with French, "ooh, yeah?"
"Umm,"
"To uhh gardez tout le Monde eveille Ma cherie?"
"Most definitely, so shall we?"
"Absolutely Mademoiselle" I smirked pushing her down onto our bed

[Reincarnation AU - karaoke night]
Dolores: If we have to listen to you two sing Suddenly Seymour again, can you at least sing it properly?
Isabela: We are singing it properly.
Dolores: No, you aren’t. Luisa is clearly singing to Mirabel. She’s practically sat on the piano stool with her, for a start.
Luisa: We’re hugging, it’s part of the song. It’s a sweet moment of understanding, prima.
Dolores: Mirabel’s not part of the song!
Luisa: That’s really rude, just because she’s playing the piano doesn’t mean she isn’t part of this song.
Dolores: You’re an idiot.
Dolores, turning around: And you! You are dressed as a plant sat in the washing basket on the other side of the room!
Isabela: No shit, Sherlock. Plants don’t walk.
Dolores: YOU’RE MEANT TO BE AUDREY I
Isabela: Bitch, if I’m any of the characters in Little Shop of Horrors, I’m clearly Audrey II.
Dolores: Then singing this song doesn’t make sense!
Isabela: Your face doesn’t even make sense!
Dolores: Oh real mature!
Isabela: oH rEaL mAtUrE!
The voice actors, on video chat, watching all this drama unfold: 🤦‍♀️

Incorrect batdr quotes but it's the Ink siblings
*Inky & Bendy are separate here, just because it makes for funnier scenarios (& I may or may not have been really invested in fanfics where they are too)
Audrey: What’s it like being tall? Audrey: Is it nice? Audrey: Can you reach comfortably for the cupboards?
Inky: We live in constant fear of the short ones who, in my experience, will climb 4 chairs, 2 boxes, a small coffee table and 6 oddly placed stools to get what they want.
Bendy: It was one time!
-
Audrey: What makes you think it's okay to watch Hannibal given its subject matter?
Bendy: Sometimes, I watch television shows for entertainment purposes.
Inky: Because I condone murder and cannibalism.
-
*Something crashes*
Audrey: Shoot-
Bendy: *running into the room in a panic* WHAT FELL?!
Inky: *walking by the room calmly* What died?
-
Bendy: Hold on! I’m having one of those things... a headache with pictures.
Audrey: What the fuck?
Inky: He’s having an idea.
-
Bendy: Why does everyone want to kill Audrey?
Inky: Because, goddamnit, have you seen her? Her neck looks so snappable.
-
Bendy: Have I ever told you that I love you with my whole heart?
Audrey: For the love of all that is holy, I am not taking you to McDonalds. It’s 2am!
Bendy: Mean.
-
Bendy: Can we go out to get icecream?
Inky: Did you ask Audrey?
Bendy: She said no.
Inky: Then why did you ask me?
Bendy: She’s not the boss of you.
Inky, internally: It's a trap, it's a trap, it's a trap.
-
Inky: Why is Audrey making me do the dishes again? You haven’t washed them in a week, Bendy!
Bendy: It’s because I’m Audrey’s favorite.
Inky: I hate you.
-
Store Worker: Would an “Audrey Drew” please come to the front desk?
Audrey, arriving at the desk: Hello, is there a problem?
Store Worker, pointing to Inky and Bendy: I believe they belong to you?
Inky and Bendy, simultaneously: We got lost.
Audrey: I didn’t even bring you guys here with me—
-
Inky: Some people are like slinkies.
Audrey: What?
Inky: Not really good for much but bring a smile to your face when you push them down the stairs.
Audrey:
Audrey: Please don't push Bendy down the stairs.
Inky, pushing Bendy down the stairs: Too late.
-
Audrey, to Inky: Why is Bendy not talking?
Inky: I'm playing the silent game with him.
Audrey: Well, then you just lost.
Inky: I lost two hours ago. I gave him ear plugs and told him to close his eyes. It was the only way I could think of to get him to shut up.
-
Audrey: You are irrationally angry 365 days a year.
Inky: Well, that’s just your personal opinion, I don’t have anger issues. Do you guys think I have anger issues?
Bendy: Well, I wouldn’t really call it an issue. An issue is something you can fix.
-
Inky: Uh, I think I got your lunch. *Holds up a note that reads: ‘I am very proud of you. Love, Audrey’*
Bendy: Oh yeah. I didn’t think this was for me. *Holds up a note that reads: ‘Be good. For the love of God, Please be good.’*
-
Audrey: Self care is stuff like taking a bubble bath or putting on a lot of make up if you like that, or taking a nice warm nap and stuff like that basically.
Inky: Self care is the burning heat when rage washes over you. self care is when you feel the bones crack under your powerful fists. self care is the fear in your enemies eyes.
Bendy: Self care is stealing someone’s birthday cake just to eat the frosting.
Inky: If you touch my birthday cake I’ll make you eat your hands.

Luca Gives You a Random Hug
Tumblr media
Part of my Corrupt a Wish challenge.
Request: Giving them a random hug. Requested by @iam-strangep.
Warnings: drugging, kidnapping, Corrupt a wish reminder: If you think this story has a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention. Proceed with caution.
“One dance,” Luca implored as he took your hand from the bar and looked deeply into your eyes.
“You know I can’t do that,” you said as much as it pained you. His mother had sent you to collect him and it wouldn’t do either of you any good to disobey Audrey. She was a strong matriarch and not someone who would be ignored.
“So this is about mama?” Luca guessed without you having to say.
You nodded slowly as you withdrew your hand.
“She asked me to send you home, Luca. She’s scared for you,” you said, hoping you could get through to your childhood friend. He had been running wild in the streets with a new crowd and his mother had begged you to talk some sense into him before he ruined his bright future. He was stubborn though, always thinking he knew better than his parents.
“They don’t know what they’re talking about, tesoro. I’m not in any danger,” he said, sipping his drink casually.
“But the robbery,” you said in a hushed whisper. “It won’t be long before the police know, Luca. Aren’t you worried?” You were the only person Luca had confided in about his recent crime.
As your face crinkled into a displeasing array of worry lines, Luca shook his head. He didn’t like to see you concerned for his welfare. He could take care of himself and he didn’t want you to forget that fact. It angered him to think of his mother filling your head with nonsense about him being a little boy who needed looking after.
“Papa thinks too small,” he said, rubbing the back of his hand along his jaw thoughtfully as he raised his chin into the air. You knew that look. He was trying to contain his temper, the one he’d had since school. It often got the best of him.
“Luca, you can’t do that again,” you said in a scolding tone.
The reaction you received was not what you expected. Luca reached for your chin and held it between his thumb and forefinger to make you look at him, “I’ll do whatever I like because one day this will be my city. Do you understand?” he asked.
You sighed in defeat and nodded slowly. What more could you say to him if he was this determined?
He relinquished his hold, suddenly realizing the grip he held. “Can I get you another drink?” he asked in an apologetic voice.
“Champagne, please,” you said with a smile and excused yourself to powder your nose. If you weren’t bringing Luca home, you would need to phone Audrey immediately.
When you returned to the bar, your drink was waiting. Luca slid the glass toward you with two fingers saying, “Drink up,” with a sly smile.
“Are you trying to get me drunk?” you asked your old friend.
“No, just trying to get you to dance with me,” he said with a sly grin.
You downed your drink and smiled at him pleasingly. He had a charming way about him. Even though you could remember him as a boy, there was an allure to the man he had become that you couldn’t deny.
“Maybe I’ll take you up on that offer,” you said a few minutes later feeling warm and happy as the band began to play one of your favorite songs. You stood from your stool at the bar and attempted to straighten your fur stole, but for some reason your arms wouldn’t cooperate. Your legs were even less reliable, buckling under you suddenly.
Luca rose from his stool to catch you and captured you from behind in a bear hug. “I got you, sweetheart,” he said reassuringly into your ear. It was the last thing you remembered as he stooped to gather your limp body.
“The girl’s a lightweight,” he explained to the bartender with a shrug. He positioned your head against his shoulder and gathered your purse from the bar before exiting to a waiting car.
“Did you give her the full dose?” the man in the car asked, looking into the rear view mirror for confirmation as Luca arranged your unconscious body across the backseat.
Luca gulped and nodded. The man chuckled, “You did good, Luca.” Stopping to take one last look at you, Luca cringed, hating himself for the obedient soldier he had become. You were his closest friend and he didn’t want to see anything happen to you, especially because this had been his mistake. He should never have told you about his involvement in the robbery. However, there couldn’t be any loose ends and that’s what you had become, a liability that had to be dealt with. Luca tried to remember that fact as he shut the car door and watched his associates speed away with you into the night, unsure what fate awaited you.

This is a scene I had in my mind for the Ink Demon Henry AU that I really wanted to do.
It’s a little late, but in honor of Sammy’s birthday, here’s the band man!
--------------------------------------------------------------------
The glass of the cell had been shattered.
It was hard for Audrey to tell whether the glass had been shattered inward or outward, but either way...there was a big hole in it. A big hole with ink splattered around it and dripping down into a puddle on the floor, almost obscuring the written label “Subject 414″.
She could feel the emotions in that ink, emotions so strong they made her stumble. Rage, grief, frustration, and pain. So much pain. The feelings crashed into her, almost overwhelming her as she leaned on a wall for support. There were tears welling up in her eyes and her breath had quickened.
It took her a bit to get a hold of herself again, pushing back against the emotions pouring off of the ink until they were barely audible to her. Once she felt stable again, she allowed herself to push off of the wall to inspect thee cell.
She could see a singular stool inside, a notebook and pencil set gingerly on top of it. It looked so bare. So...isolating. There wasn’t even a bed. She didn’t know if ink creatures necessarily slept, but laying down was nice, even if you didn’t sleep.
Had they really kept that man here?
It didn’t seem nearly as bad as what the Keepers had done to the Ink Demon, but...still...It seemed pretty awful.
“If you’re looking for Henry, he’s not here.”
Audrey jumped at the sudden voice, turning around.
Behind her, in one of the cells on the ground level, an inky figure sat in a chair, plucking mournfully at a banjo. He looked...different than the Lost Ones Audrey had seen, more solid and defined, but lacked the truly humanoid form of someone like Allison. He had his back to her, but she could see he seemed to be wearing pants and suspenders. His chair sat in the middle of some strange sigil, with candles all around him and a mask on the floor by his feet.
Painted below the glass window was “Subject 418″.
“So he was...here before?” Audrey asked slowly, tentatively approaching the cell and the strange man.
“He was,” the man replied, not bothering to look back at her.
“What happened? Why did he leave?”
“My lord-” The man began, only to tense and shake his head before continuing. “The Ink Demon sought him out. He escaped from those...” He paused, and Audrey almost though she saw his lip curl in disgust. “Wretched creatures and came here.”
“Did he...know Henry was here?” Audrey pressed a hand against the glass.
“I don’t believe he did. At least, not before he arrived here.” The man plucked a sour note and flinched. “But once he did arrive...Henry was all he was interested in. He didn’t even spare a glance my way.” The man let out a laugh. It was a broken and mournful sound. “All my prayer, all my devotion, and he didn’t even know I was there.”
“You worshiped that thing?” Despite herself, Audrey couldn’t hide the disdain in her voice.
The man was up and slamming a hand against the glass faster than she had thought possible. Despite not having any discernible facial features aside from two glowing golden eyes, Audrey got the distinct feeling that he was furious with her.
“Do not pass judgement upon me, little lamb,” he hissed, nails scratching against the glass. “You know not what it means to live in this place.”
“I’m sorry,” Audrey stumbled back. “I just...I don’t understand. Why the Ink Demon? Why worship him?”
The man stared at her. His expression hadn’t changed (mostly because he wasn’t really capable of making expressions) but his anger seemed to have lessened. Finally, he turned away from her, sitting back down on his chair.
“The Ink Demon is power, little lamb,” he said, beginning to play once more. “He always has been. Is it not natural to seek to appease the powerful?”
“I...guess that makes sense,” Audrey conceded. “Anyway, uh, back to Henry?”
“Back to Henry,” the man hummed.
“So...The Ink Demon came here and...he went to Henry? Why?”
“He saw a kindred spirit in Henry. Both made to suffer at Drew’s hand, both full of pain.” The man let out a little sigh. “And born from that pain was desperation, a desire to make others hurt as they had been hurt.”
Audrey went silent, considering this. Considering what Joey had told her. Technically...None of this was real. The Henry here wasn’t the real Henry. And he...He had to know that. The Ink Demon had to know that. Joey had created them solely to suffer and that had to be...absolutely horrible.
No wonder they wanted others to hurt.
“You’ve gotten very quiet, little lamb,” the man remarked. “Many things to think about, I assume?”
Audrey instinctively hunched her shoulders, wrapping her arms around herself. “...Something like that.”
“There are many truths you must learn, little lamb,” the man said. “I pray they will not destroy you.”
Audrey blinked, letting her arms drop. For a moment or two, she just stared at the man, utterly baffled by his response.
“What the Hell does that mean?” She finally demanded.
“It means what it means.” The man continued to play as though he hadn’t just said the most ridiculous and cryptic shit.
“Who are you?”
The man stopped his playing, his shoulders tensing for a moment before slumping. “Once upon a time...I was called Sammy Lawrence.”
“Well, it’s...nice to meet you, Sammy. I’m Audrey.” She would have extended her hand to him to shake but, well, y’know, glass.
“It is a pleasure to meet you as well, Miss Audrey.” Sammy didn’t turn around.
Audrey decided it was probably best to get going now. She still needed to find Wilson. Hopefully, he’d be able to send her home.
And...maybe she could find a way to talk to Henry and the Ink Demon.
She had a feeling they had a lot to talk about.

3 WIPs Tag Game
Rules: post snippets/screenshots/etc. from three of your WIPs! art or fic! tag as many people as you like! (created by @limetimo)
Thank you to the four amazing writers who tagged me in this and shared snippets from their WIPs. I highly highly recommend everyone who stumbles across this check out the posts from @demxters, @sylviebell, @bobfloydsbabe, and @ereardon.
kiss it better -- Javy "Coyote" Machado x Reader (but there's also an OC version with Audrey Herrera on AO3 & FFN)
"Now's when normal people would say thanks back," he prompted. The flickering of concern you'd felt in your chest sputtered out completely as you leveled Javy with a flat look.  "For allowing me to save your ass in a fight that you started?" you asked, raising an eyebrow as you crossed your arms. "Or for showing the barest amount of basic human decency?"  "Yeah, that's about right," Javy muttered to himself, and his voice seemed to gain some strength back. He apparently did too as he pushed himself up off of the ground to stand in front of you. "Why are you even out here?" "I was sent to apologize," he answered, hand returning once more to his throat. "Sorry, by the way."
Tailspin (Ch. 5) -- Mickey "Fanboy" Garcia x OC
She hardly made the decision before her palm touched his cheek turning him towards her, and then she was pulling him into a kiss as the people around them exploded in cheers. Mickey shifted, hand falling to the other armrest as he bent closer to her. The cheers died as the camera feed refocused back on the pitcher, ready for the first batter, but Mickey's lips remained on Caro's. It was another moment more before Caro pulled back from him. "We're still not dating," she clarified.  "Of course not," he breathed.  "I just didn't want everyone to boo you." "You're very kind," he said, moving a piece of hair out of her face.
hey baby -- Bradley "Rooster" Bradshaw x Reader
You realized belatedly that there was no way he was talking to you. His partner had to be sitting a few stools down behind you or something. Your face grew warm with embarrassment as your mouth closed. Before you could tear your eyes away from him and focus on the asshole before you who looked absolutely pale and spindly in comparison, the stranger reached out and drew you into a quick one armed hug, pressing a quick kiss to the side of your head.  "Sorry I'm late; debrief went long." Holy shit. What the fuck. What the actual fuck. "Think you can forgive me?" he asked, offering a sheepish grin, even as he winced in preparation for an emotional blow.
NO PRESSURE TAGS: @tongue-like-a-razor, @rae-gar-targaryen, @veetlegeuse, @asirensrage and anyone else who wants to do it. If you've already done it, please ignore this!

💛Sunshine💛 - The Visit pt. 2/The Son
In which you all read about Spencer’s family life
Overall warnings: mentions of sex, children, violence, regular cm stuff y’know
Tumblr media
After everyone was calm, they all sat around the living room eating soup and grilled cheese.
It was oddly quiet. The sound of spoons clanking against the edges of the bowl was awkward.
"Spence?" Audrey cleared her throat.
The man looked up at her. Her eyes were a little wide and her lip was caught between her teeth. She set her bowl on the end table next to the couch.
"Can you tell us about the case? When we can get out of here and go home?" Audrey asked, eyes full of hope.
Sadie nodded from her spot at her little plastic chair. "Yeah, daddy. I wanna go home."
Charlie's eyes just shot back and forth between his mother and father waiting for a response. Joey was fidgeting with his spoon.
"Uhm-" Spencer's voice cracked nervously and he cleared his throat, eyes tearing away from his wife's. "Well, we haven't Uh... the unsub hasn't been active. So... so we... we don't know, Aud. We're at a loss."
The woman's face fell for just a moment. Her smile lit right back up and she glanced at her children. "Will you guys start cleaning the kitchen, please?"
Charlie scoffed. "That's not fair!" Both of his parents looked at him. "Dad just got here and you're making us clean?"
Audrey looked between her husband and Charlie hoping that he would say something to calm him down a bit. When he didn't Audrey smiled. "Dad will come help in just a minute, okay?"
Charlie rolled his eyes and spun around walking into the kitchen with loud footsteps. Sadie and Joey followed him quietly.
When the kids were out of earshot, Audrey looked at Spencer. "Honey, it's been 5 months." She shook her head. "Don't you think of the unsub isn't active... we can go home? I mean, c'mon, the kids hate it here."
Spencer tilted his head and moved closer to his wife. "I want more than anything to get you home but we haven't even found—" He stopped and looked at Charlie to make sure he wasn't listening. "We haven't even found Emmy yet." He whispered.
Audrey sighed. "How are my parents? And Marcus?"
Spencer smiled a bit. "Your parents are doing good. They miss you and the kids, they're safe." He nodded. "I haven't heard from Marcus in a few weeks. I think he's still sad about Chloe."
The woman sighed and placed her hand on her belly. "She's started kicking." A soft smile graced her lips.
Spencer got on his knees on the floor, reaching to touch her stomach. He smiled as he felt the baby's kicks. "I hate that I can't be with you everyday." He whispered. "I hate that I can't see your beautiful face and our beautiful kids and feel our beautiful baby."
"How much longer do you have left?" Audrey asked.
Spencer looked at his watch. "Thirty minutes."
Audrey sighed and bit her lip. "Go help the kids. Catch up with them." She smiled, nodding her head in their direction.
Sadie stood up on the step stool putting dishes away, Joey wiped down the counters and Charlie pretended to clean off the stove.
Spencer chuckled softly and pulled his wife in for a kiss. They stayed like that for a while until she sighed and pulled away.
Spencer got up from the ground and walked into the kitchen, tickling Sadie. She squealed and Joey laughed as he pretended to body slam her into the counter.
Audrey smiled, her lips quivering as she look away from them, tears filling her eyes.
.•.•.•.•.
30 minutes later Spencer sighed and walked over to the door slowly. Joey and Charlie followed behind him and he carried Sadie in his arms.
Audrey was waiting for him with her hands on her belly. She had a smile on her face but Spencer could tell it was fake.
"I'll be back as soon as I can." He spoke, kissing Sadie's head. Tears were running down her cheeks but she said nothing as he sat her down.
He turned to his boys and tugged them both into him, wrapping his arms around them.
"Dad, please don't go." Joey cried.
Spencer sighed and rubbed his son's back. "I'm sorry. I will work my hardest to solve this case and you guys can come back home. I swear."
He pulled away from them and turned to Audrey. "I love you." He said. "And I'm sorry. I will figure this all out."
She nodded and smiled still. "I love you too."
He turned to the children. "I love you all."
He left shortly after they repeated it, walking sadly towards the SUV where Hotch sat waiting.
Spencer climbed into the car and exhaled heavily when he shut the door. Hotch saw the quiver of his lips and sighed.
Suddenly, a tear rolled down his cheek and clicked on his seat belt. "I don't want to talk about it." He told Hotch. "We just need to get this case done and take down this piece of shit so I can take my family home."
.•.•.•.•.•.3 weeks later.•.•.•.•.•.
Audrey was humming and rocking in the chair in the living room. She had her eyes closed and she was rubbing her belly.
It was about 10 pm. The kids were asleep and she was thinking about how much longer she and the kids had to be cooped up in the house.
"So, when your father and I got married, we didn't have rings." She whispered. When no one was around, she liked to talk to Peach. Especially about Spencer because she didn't want the baby to not know who he was. "That night, in the middle of us— Um wrestling, he remembered that we didn't have rings so he put some pants on and drive to a jewelry store." She giggled. "He came back with five rings and a band and told me to pick my favorite one."
"And when I picked, he put the rest in his drawer and said he was saving them for his children." Audrey opened her eyes and shook her head. "So that means, you'll get yours one day when you decide who you want to marry. And-"
There was a knock at the door.
Audrey's heart dropped when she realized that the knock wasn't the BAU's code.
She got up quickly, making sure that she wasn't able to be seen from the blinds. She rushed into the kitchen and opened the utensil drawer where the burner phone was supposed to be.
Her hands searched through the drawer but the phone was nowhere to be found.
"Shit." She cursed, her heartbeat picking up. She opened the other drawers in search but still couldn't find it.
"Audrey?"
She stopped dead in her tracks. She recognized the voice immediately. "Marcus?" She whispered, placing her hand on her stomach and walking towards the door.
She stood on her toes and looked through the little hole in the door.
Audrey bit her lip and dropped back down onto her feet and furrowed her brows, hesitating. She sighed heavily and unlocked the door. She opened it slowly, peering out at him.
"Marcus?" She spoke quietly. "Marcus, what the hell are you doing here?" She asked.
Marcus looked sad. "I think I know who Chloe's killer is!" He whisper shouted. Audrey raised her eyebrows and stepped back a little, letting Marcus step inside.
She quickly shut the door and locked it again. She spun around to see Marcus pacing. "W- Marc, I don't understand, how did you find us?"
Marcus glanced at her, his boots heavy on the ground. "Spencer's team. They told me." He nodded. Audrey furrowed her eyebrows.
They wouldn't do that.
She walked back towards the covered window and used her fingers to separate the blinds.
The watch car was across the street but the officer inside didn't look like he was awake.
Something is wrong.
Audrey breathed and turned back around. "You think you found the killer?" She asked. "How?"
He stopped pacing. She felt that something was wrong. "I-"
"I think I hear Sadie, give me a second." Audrey stopped him with a soft smile.
Something is wrong. Keep your composure.
"If you ever feel uncomfortable, threatened..." Spencer sat himself down in front of Audrey who was playing with a baby Charlie. "Audrey, are you listening?"
The woman looked up with a smile. "I'm sorry! He's just so cute." She shook her head and gently touched her baby's nose with her pinky.
Spencer chuckled. "I know, we make pretty cute babies, we should make more, but Audrey I need you to listen to me."
Her smile faltered a little bit and she nodded. He tilted his head. "My- My job is dangerous and I come face to face with some pretty dangerous people." He told her. "And I put... a lot of people away."
Audrey nodded, trying to keep Charlie from crawling out of her arms.
"And to get back at me, they might go for you o-or one of our kids." He said. He leaned forward, placing his hand on Audrey's knee. "So if you ever feel like something's wrong when you're around someone, you get yourself out. You give an excuse and you go. If the kids are with you, you get them and leave. Okay, Aud?"
She tilted her head to the side. "Okay. But, what if whoever is making me uncomfortable doesn't let me go?"
Spencer sighed and made sure that his eyes were locked on hers.
"Then you fight like hell."
Audrey glanced at him as she began to walk towards the kid's room and made sure to unclench her fists. She didn't know exactly why or what was happening but her brother was giving her a really bad feeling.
Marcus cleared his throat. "I don't hear anything."
Audrey slowed her feet down a little. "Yeah, but I should go check on her. It must just be my mom brain." She laughed.
He stepped in front of her.
"Audrey, I don't hear anything." He said. The woman lifted her eyes from his chest to his face.
"Marcus?" She whispered.
"Yeah?"
Her eyes flickered down to his shirt once again. "Who's blood is that?" Her voice was low.
Marcus' breath hitched. "I'm sorry, Aud." He shook his head and planted his face in his palms. "Peter, from the car outside, he wouldn't let me come see you."
Audrey shook her head as tears filled her eyes. "Marcus, what did you do?" She asked, her voice breaking.
"I did what I had to, Audrey."
"Marcus, I really need to go check on the ki-"
He pushed her back. "Shut the fuck up!" He screamed, and Audrey flinched and stepped back.
She glanced to her left at the key table by the door. She took note of the metal lamp that sat there and looked back up at her brother. "Marcus, did you kill Chloe?" She asked, a tear slipping down her cheek. "And Lucas?"
Marcus shook his head with a smile. "Oh, I killed a whole lotta people." He laughed lazily.
"And you sent those pictures to Charlie?" She said. He nodded and she thought back to the night it all started.
The minute he left the room after "finding out"about Chloe, Charlie got the text.
"And you gave the folder to Sadie?" He nodded again. "But how? She knows who you are."
Marcus rolled his eyes. "There's this thing called a mask, Audrey."
"Marcus, w-why are you doing this?" She asked, stepping forward so her hand was right next to the lamp.
He shook his head and laughed again. "Remember uncle Lou?" He asked. "From Vegas, the one I was staying with on vacation all those years ago?"
Audrey nodded. "The week I met Spencer."
"See, Uncle Lou told me all about everything. He's the one who got me into this. He showed me exactly how to do it. How to kill people." He nodded, pointing his finger at his head. "But I came up with my own way when I got old enough. I didn't want them to trace it back to uncle Lou."
Audrey shook her head. "But why Marcus? Why are you doing this to us?" She cried. "Your family?"
Marcus bit his lip. "Audrey, the perfect daughter." He said, his eyes widening. It's like he was crazy.
"Wh- Marcus, mom treated me like shit. I don't understand." She told him, stepping forward a bit.
"She might have treated you like shit, but they treated me worse." He said, stepping up to her. "She treated me like nothing."
Audrey tilted her head to the side. "Oh, Marcus..." She grabbed his face and tried to get him to look at her. "I'm so sorry."
He shook his head and shut his eyes. "They forgot my birthday four years in a row while you were away at college." He cried. "I didn't even go to college, I'm their little disappointment."
"Marcus, our parents love you." Audrey told him.
He open his eyes. "Loved." Audrey's entire body tensed. Her heart dropped— hell it might have stopped.
"Marky, you..." She shook her head. "You didn't." Her voice was quiet.
The man scoffed as she removed her hands from his face. She didn't back up, she was too afraid to move.
"Do you know what she said to me right before I stabbed her in her throat?" He asked. Audrey could throw up, she grimaced at his words.
"'Audrey wouldn't have done this.'" He mimicked their mother's voice.
Audrey gasped in pain as she felt something sharp in her back. She looked up at him and her breath hitched as he felt her brother pull a blade out of her.
He unwrapped his arm from around his sister (that she never felt) and shook his head.
He waved the bloody blade in front of her face as she stumbled back. Her turned around and began walking towards the kid's room.
She felt more tears fall as she reached back to the key table. Her hand gripped the cool lamp and she stalked forward.
Her pain was unbearable but she kept her lip between her teeth trying to keep in a scream.
She caught up to him somehow and raised the lamp over her head quickly. She brought it down and it made contact with her brother's head and hard. He collapsed and hit the ground, groaning in pain. She dropped the lamp and grunted in pain as she felt the stab wound in her back rip open even more.
Her chest heaved as she stumbled over him. "Charlie, Joey, Sadie, wake up!" She screamed.
She opened the door to the kids room and they were stirring in their beds.
She grunted as she tripped over a toy and landed on her belly. Her mouth fell open and she shouted in pain.
"Mom?"
She felt hands on her arms as she tried to get up and the light was flicked on. "Mommy?"
She looked up at Charlie and he immediately saw the tears in her eyes. "Mom, what's wrong?"
"B-basement— basement now!" She screamed as he pulled her up.
"AUDREY!"
Sadie screamed at the loud voice.
"Mom, you're bleeding!" Joey noticed.
Audrey nodded. "I know baby, I know, I'm okay. We have to get to the basement now." She said, her voice coming out broken.
Charlie held his mom under his arm as she cradled her stomach. "Who's out there, mommy!?" Sadie cried as Joey picked her up.
"Don't worry about it, bunny, come on." She cried, her back stinging.
She started to walk towards the door and she peeked out of the room quickly, pushing Charlie back a bit.
There was no sign of Marcus but there was a pool of blood where he landed.
"Okay, come on guys." She whispered.
Charlie wrapped an arm around his mother once again, helping her walk through the hallway.
Luckily the basement door wasn't far from the children's room. She stopped in front of the key pad and squeezed her eyes shut as she felt the baby kick hard. "Oh, God."
Her shaking hand punched in the three-digit key quickly and the door opened.
"Hey, kids."
Her head plummeted again as she looked back, Marcus standing there with a bloody hand against his head.
"Uncle Marcus?" Joey spoke.
Audrey looked up at Charlie. "Hey, you gotta let me go, okay?" She told him, her voice wavering. Charlie shook his head but Audrey softened her eyes and nodded. "Yeah baby, you gotta let me go."
She stepped forward, squeezing her eyes shut again and she looked back at her kids. "You guys go down there, okay? Do not come back up, do you understand?"
Sadie sobbed/screamed as Charlie nodded, a tear slipping down his cheeks. Joey stood there glancing between his mom and uncle.
Audrey turned back to face her brother. "You stay the hell away from my kids." She glared as she heard Sadie's screams descend down the stairs.
Marcus laughed. "What will you do about it?"
He asked. "Once I kill you, I'll go downstairs and gut them just like I did our mother."
Audrey flinched. "I swear to God, you even put a scratch on one of my kids, Spencer will kill you with his bare hands."
Marcus stalled towards her and she stood there, one hand holding the wound on her back and one holding her aching stomach.
"Shit, you messed me up, Marky." She shook her head. She lowered her head and heard his footsteps getting closer to her.
When she saw his shoes on the ground beneath her, she quickly looked up and clicked him in the face.
Marcus stumbled back a bit and clenched his jaw. "You pack a punch, big sister." He seethed as he looked at her.
He leaped forward and punched her back. She fell backwards and landed on the ground, groaning and coughing.
"Mommy, no!" She heard Sadie scream.
No, Sadie go downstairs!
Audrey gasped as Marcus got on his knees next to her and flipped her onto her back.
His hands wrapped around her throat and she looked up at him with wide, teary eyes. "N-no, Ma-Marky-"
Marcus laughed at her and tightened his hands.
"Get the hell off of her!"
Suddenly, Marcus flew to the side as someone, Charlie, tackled him. "Charlie!" She coughed, rolling over.
She looked at Joey and Sadie who stood by the open door to the basement. She got to her knees and crawled over to them. "Go! Go downstairs now!"
She hated screaming at her kids but she needed them to go downstairs. She couldn't let them witness her get brutally murdered.
They flinched at her serious, almost angry, tone and tan down the stairs, Sadie still screaming.
She pushed the heavy metal door shut with a grunt and spun back around. They couldn't get out unless they knew the code and eventually Joey would find some way to communicate with the team.
Or someone would come across the mangled man in the front seat of his car that Marcus killed.
Marcus stood there with Charlie up against his chest and his knife on his neck. "Marcus, no." She shook her head and stepped forward. She glanced at Charlie who had his eyes closed, his chest heaving. His nose was bloody and she could tell that Marcus did that to him.
"I was going to kill you here but now I have a better idea." Marcus spoke slowly.
"Please, Marky. Let him go. Let him go and-" She coughed. "I'll let you kill me."
Marcus acted like he was thinking about it. "Mm..." He rocked his head from side to side. She glanced from him to her shaking son. "No." He chuckled. "You two are coming with me." He nodded and glanced at Charlie before looking back up at his sister. "And if you try to run, I will cut this kid from the neck down."
"Do anything to buy more time." She heard Spencer's voice in her head. "More time means a better plan."
Charlie opened his eyes and locked eyes with his mother. "Mo-"
"Shut the hell up!" He said, pushing the knife further against Charlie's neck.
"No! Marcus, okay! We'll go, just stop!" She held her hands out in front of her.
Marcus smiled and shook his head.
"Remember, Audrey. You run, he dies."

Cyclebreakers
The studio newcomer meets a legend
Audrey had never expected to find a relatively normal looking human down here. Granted, she never thought she would fight monsters made of ink or running and hiding from a demon, or having superpowers, so maybe she’d be better off if she just started bracing herself for the strangest outcomes. Nevertheless, she had to blink hard, just to make sure her eyes weren’t deceiving her, just to make sure she wasn’t hallucinating, that there wasn’t a person that was so close, yet so far away, with only a panel of glass between them.
Nope, he still sat on the stool, scribbling away in the notebook, like his life depended on it. Knowing this place, it might very well be.
Audrey cleared her throat, suddenly finding it very dry. “Hello? Sir? Can you help me?” The man turned his head ever so slightly towards her. “You must be really lost if you’re asking me for help.” Despite everything, Audrey had to fight to hold back laughter. If only he even knew half of it. “I’m just looking for answers. About the Keepers. Wilson. The Cycle. Anything could help.” How much do you know about what happened here? How long have you been here? What do you know about Joey Drew?
“What’s your name?” It was the only bit of information about herself the past few hours hasn’t forced her to question. “Audrey. What’s yours?” “Honestly, I’ve almost forgotten.” He placed his notebook on the stool, and Audrey had let out a gasp when she was met with the face of the most tired man she’d ever seen. And she thought she looked exhausted after working all night. “Oh, I’m so sorry, I-.” The man spoke up once more. “Don’t worry about it, I look rough, I know. But as for your question, my name is Henry. Henry Stein.”
“Have you been a prisoner long?” “When the Keepers think you’re a threat to their plans, they lock you away. Forever. Still, it’s given me time to think. Things like: if you haven’t eaten in years, you might not be human. Still, I’d rather it be me than him, although I guess it doesn’t really matter anymore.” Henry smiled, completely deprived of joy or mirth. Audrey couldn’t believe it. Henry was just an old man, she couldn’t imagine that he could be seen as much of a threat to anyone. “Why would you be a threat to them?” Henry came closer to the window. “I’m what they call a Cyclebreaker. Once upon a time, I knew how to start the cycle over. And when that happens, everything begins again. Completely new.” He sighed, out of exhaustion or frustration, Audrey couldn’t tell. “Obviously Wilson and the Keepers don’t want that to happen.”
Resetting the cycle. That may very well be the answer she’s looking for. A chance to start things over, before everything went to hell. A chance to make everything right. “How did you do it?” “Reset the cycle?” Henry pointed to his right. “It turns out, the Ink Demon himself is the key. This world is his, but even he must obey its rules. For now at least. If you can get him to look at something very specific, it will reset everything.” “What is it?” Henry held an ink stained finger up, turning back to the stool and picking up his notebook, drawing as he spoke. “It’s just a reel of film, labeled with the words, ‘The End’.” He held the notebook to the glass for her to see, and Audrey committed every last detail to memory. “I can see it in my mind everyday.” Henry motioned to his left. “They keep it upstairs in the Pit.”
Audrey nodded, filled with determination. “I’ll see if I can break in and steal it. Maybe, if I reset the cycle, we can make things better for everyone here.” Henry stared at her with a look of concern. “And what about you?” God, there were so many things Audrey could say, so many things she wanted, but all that could come out was “I just wanna go home.” Henry nodded, a feeling of solidarity between the two of them. “So did I.” He turned, about to walk back to his seat, but stopped to give her a genuine smile. “Good luck Audrey. If you need me again, you know where to find me.”
He had his back to her once again, and Audrey headed towards the Pit, filled with renewed vigor. She had to bring an end to this. For herself, for Henry and Alice, for Bendy and every other poor soul trapped in this hell with her. She just had to.

Taller
A batai lil bendy and Audrey short
“Audrey was trying to stay awake as her and bendy watched a cute little sitcom.
Bendy had a big ol smile as his eyes were glued to the screen. Audrey couldn’t really bother to pay attention after such a long day, only staying awake due to being spooked by bendys sudden squeaks of laughter.
She noticed on the screen a parent kneeling down as a child was lined up against a wall, standing straight. As the kid did so, the parent opened a marker and drew a line right above the kids head.
The child then moved away from the wall and jumped up and down in joy as they saw the newest line was higher up than a couple older marker lines.
She turned to see bendys vacant smile had turned into an expression of pure wonder and curiosity, his eyes still staring at the scene.
“Look daddy! I grew!” The child on the screen exclaimed. The father rubbed her hair lovingly. “You sure did sweetie. Why at this rate, you may even be taller than me when you grow up!” The father said.
She hasn’t noticed bendy had run off as she was starting to fall asleep again. Only to be jumped awake when she felt herself be shook.
She looked down and saw bendy shaking her arm with one hand, holding a marker with another.
“What is it, lil Buddy?” She asked, half asleep. Bendy pointed to the marker, then to the tv and then to a wall.
Oh.
“You want me to mark your height like on the tv?” She asked. Bendy nodded. “Sure. Why not?” She said as she rubbed his head before getting up.
Bendy leaned against the wall and stood straight. Audrey kneeled down to his level and marked the wall right above the top of his head, between his horns.
Bendy jumped away and took a look at the mark. He then pointed at Audrey and then at the wall.
“Do you wanna measure me next?” She asked. Bendy nodded. “Alright then” she said as she gave him the marker and got up.
She leaned against the wall and stood straight. She ended up letting out a laugh as she looked down and saw bendys puzzled and annoyed look.
“Cmon, bendy. I’m right here waiting for ya. Aren’t you gonna mark my height?” She teased. Bendy let out a “hmph!” As he crossed his arms and gave her a cute little mad expression.
He looked around and saw a barstool in the kitchen he could use. He ran to it and pushed it next to Audrey before climbing up on it.
He stood on it and reached over to mark right above Audrey’s head. “Oh, good job bud! You found a way to reach me!” She said as she rubbed his head.
He gave her an annoyed look, still mad at the teasing from earlier. He decided to get revenge by pulling the barstool he was sitting on and having a leg of it land on Audrey’s foot.
“OW! OH YOU LITTLE-“ Audrey shouted as bendy jumped off the stool and ran off, squeaking with laughter.
“Oh no! You get back here!” Audrey yelled as she chased after him. Bendy was still squeaking to himself as he tried to avoid Audrey’s grasp.
-
Audrey was working on some scenes at her desk in her bedroom. She figured taking her work home instead of staying at work late was better for lil bendy.
She felt bad leaving him alone so much. Yeah he was surprisingly self sufficient despite how young he was and he always seemed happy despite being alone so much. But…
Her thought process was stopped when she felt her shirt being tugged. She looked down and saw bendy was the culprit.
“Hi sthisth” he said. He had been doing really well when it came to learning to talk the over the past year, but he seemed to have a lisp that sometimes made it hard to understand what he was saying.
“What is it, bud?” She asked. Bendy pulled out a marker from his pocket and pointed to the hallway outside her room.
“Taller?” He said in his childlike voice. She wasn’t sure what he meant. “Can you show me what you mean?” She asked him.
Bendy nodded and grabbed her hand, yanking her out of her room and to the living room. He let go and pointed to the marks on the wall from months back.
“Ohh! You want me to mark your height again?” She asked. Bendy nodded excitedly.
“Oh. Umm. Sure thing” she said a little nervously.
She wasn’t gonna have to explain to him that he can’t grow like that… right?
“Alright lil Buddy. Line up” she said as she took the marker from him. Bendy went up against the wall and stood straight.
She marked the top of his head between his horns. “Alright bud” she started as he jumped to look.
“Now please don’t be upset if nothings changed. There’s nothing wrong with-“ she stopped as she saw bendy jumping for joy shouting “taller! Yay”.
She looked and saw that the mark she just made on the wall was a good inch above the older one.
That… that can’t be right…
“You weren’t standing on your tip toes, were you?” She asked. Bendy shook his head as he said “Nuh uh”.
Hmm.
“Lemme take another look” she said as she gently grabbed his shoulder and lined him against the wall. She made sure that his feet were planted on the ground as she marked his height again.
He moved away so they could both look. “Sthee?” He said as he pointed to it.
Audrey had a concerned face that confused bendy. She saw his confused look at her and realized her worry was showing.
“Wrong?” He asked. “Oh! No no! There’s nothing wrong, bud! I’m just… surprised. That’s all” she said.
Bendy still gave her a slightly sad look, not buying it. Audrey tried to think of something.
“Hey. I gotta finish up my work. Why don’t you go play in your room and we’ll watch tv later, ok?” She said.
Bendy nodded, still having a slightly sad look before running off to his room.
“Ugh” she muttered as she put a hand on her forehead.
Dammit, Audrey that was awful.
She thought to herself as she looked at the marking. Her mind started to wander as she thought to herself.
How did that happen?
It’s nothing Audrey.
You’re worrying too much.
She thought as she got up. But she just. Couldn’t help having a bad feeling…
Why was she so worried?”
End for now!
I may continue later but this is gettin long

Chapter Eight: School Breakfast
I woke at four and dressed for school when I was well enough. I helped Lian tie her shoes and did chores with Roy. So, all the tasks students had were assigned by the week. If I had the stables one week, I had kitchen duty the next week, trash duty, and classroom cleaning, and then we would start over. Kitchen duty was intense. I started at five in the morning with Roy and Donna. They wanted me to help make breakfast. I had to make waffle batter for over a hundred kids. Four different ways. Roy sat Tommy in a high chair, and Lian refilled the napkins. "Thank you, Lian," Roy smiled. Lian nodded and stood beside me on a stool.
"You're doing a good job," Lian reassured me. I relaxed my shoulders and smiled. "Daddy's gonna be so proud of you."
"Thanks, Lian. That makes me feel good," I replied honestly.
"That's how you deserve to feel," Lian grinned. My throat went dry, and I teared up. It was the first time I'd wanted to cry since I was a kid. I hadn't cried in so long, but that did something to me. Roy picked up on it immediately.
"Hey, Grant, can you help me with one of the sign-in charts for the lunchroom?" Roy asked. I nodded and followed him to the lunchroom entrance while Donna finished making the waffles. "You alright?"
I shut my eyes until they stopped watering. "Uh-huh... Yeah... I felt weird for a second, but I'm okay now," I replied.
"What happened?" Roy asked. His voice was painfully gentle.
"Nothing... I mean... I'm not used to feeling special," I replied, "I don't know... What she said back there-. I got choked up for a second."
"Thanks for sharing that with me. I think I understand. Are you really okay, though?" Roy questioned. I nodded. "Kitchen duty kicking your backside yet?"
"I never had to cook back home. I had-. They were traditional," I replied, "So this is all new to me..."
Roy named the kids that came in, and I checked their names on the clipboard list. Bart ran straight into me, and he stopped in his tracks. "What's the matter?" Roy asked.
"I couldn't sleep. My uncle didn't call last night," Bart replied, "And I still don't know who's picking me up for the family week."
Roy looked Bart in the eye and took the clipboard from me. He flipped to the last page and wrote something down before handing the piece of paper to Bart. "But I can-."
"It's okay, Bart. If anyone needs a soft day, it's you," Roy replied, "I'll bring you your breakfast."
Bart nodded and left the cafeteria. "What's a soft day?" I asked.
"It's basically a mental health day. We all take them sometimes," Roy answered, "This school is here to build you guys up, not force you to put on smiles and pretend things are fine when they're not."
"No kiddin'... You really care about kids, don't you?" I whispered. I didn't mean to say that out loud, but I'm a dork like that.
"I care about everybody," Roy replied, "Cody, what are you doing here?"
"Got switched back to kitchen duty because some kid lost their kitchen privileges," Cody replied, "Are you supervising here today?"
"Mhm, know what that means? Wanna turn on the radio and show Grant how to set the table?" Roy asked.
"Waffles today?" Cody asked.
"Yup," Roy replied.
Cody led me back to the kitchen and turned on the radio. "So, you live with Roy and not in the dorms?" Cody asked. I nodded. "You're gonna fill the shakers for the tables with cinnamon sugar. The little kids like sprinkles, so we fill shakers with sprinkles too. I'll do the sprinkles."
Cody set out the shakers and the cinnamon sugar. "What are the dorms like?" Grant asked.
"It sucks when your roommate moves out, especially if you get along with them. I got a new roommate, but we don't talk much. People say I'm hard to get along with because I can be a jerk sometimes," Cody replied. I shrugged it off and filled the shakers. "Sorry about the other day."
"It's nothin'," I replied.
"You like living with Roy?" Cody asked. He filled the sprinkles jars so fast it made my head spin. "You'll catch up."
"It's okay... Everybody likes him here, or they're acting like it-."
"Oh no, he's as cool as everyone says," Cody replied, "He cares... I got here the same week as two other kids. Then another girl showed up a little while after. He treated us like we were his kids. He still checks in with all of us."
"And you've been here how long?" I asked.
Cody loaded all the full shakers onto two trays. "A couple of months before you. We're gonna put two of each on the table. Let me get the first table to show you," Cody explained. I followed him around and set the shakers out. Once we finished setting them out, Cody gestured for me to follow him. "We're front of the line for breakfast." I stood in line behind him, and we got the same stuff. Waffles, strawberries, sausage, and syrup. The bell rang, and kids started pouring in from all directions. A girl sat next to Cody, and she whispered something to him. He grinned.
"What?" I asked.
"She wanted to know if you were cool," Cody replied, "Audrey, this is Grant. Grant, this is Audrey... Audrey, where's Toni?"
"Caught up cleaning one of the classrooms probably... I bet you they stuck her in Health again," Audrey replied. Audrey. What a babe! But I think she had her sights set on Cody. I could tell by the way she looked at him. I don't think he saw her that way, though. I could tell by the way he looked through her when she talked. Still, I thought she was cute. "Hi, Grant. Nice to meet you," Audrey smiled as she reached to shake my hand.
"Wayyy nicer to meet you, Audrey," I grinned. Hey. Don't blame a guy for trying. Audrey dumped her container of whipped cream on her waffles and covered them in sprinkles.
"Are you staying here during family week?" Audrey asked. I nodded. "Me too. Donna's my dorm parent. It's not so bad staying here during family week. The school's like family anyway."
Cody picked over his waffles. "I said you could come home with my mom and me," Cody muttered.
"Wouldn't that be weird?" Audrey asked.
"My mom knows about you. She said it'd be okay... If it's too short notice, though, you can still come to stay with us, Driscolls, for winter break," Cody offered. Audrey smiled and nodded.
Yeah, there was no way I had a chance with her. Cody had somewhere to go. Lian put a cushion down and sat next to me. Roy put her tray down and asked me to help her while he checked in with some of the kids. "Morning, Lian," Audrey smiled.
"Good morning! Hi, Cody," Lian greeted them. I opened her butter and syrup, and she ate her fruit while I cut up her waffles into bite-sized pieces.
"How's your mom, Lian?" Cody asked.
"She went to D.C.," Lian replied, "Mommy has a big test to take."
"I hope she passes," Cody smiled.
Lian thanked him and ate her breakfast. I liked the meals. It was probably my favorite thing about the school. It wasn't quite family, but it felt pretty close.

Chapter 4 of Thrawn story available
Tumblr media
This time, I edited the chapter heavily and shortened it considerably before publishing, as I got another idea how to incorporate Ezra Bridger to the story (it is not vital for the storyline itself, though... probably). I let him drag our OC into the World between Worlds for the first time, as we will return there for more discussions about nothing in the next chapter.
Tumblr media
As for the science behind my writing, I would like to pay homage to this amazing research done on slime mould. Back in November 2023, we invited Dr Audrey Dussutour to our Department to deliver a talk "Problem solving in slime molds" which was amazing. There are sure many things floating around the internet about these amazing single-celled creatures, and some of you may have heard about this experiment from Japan when slime mould was made to grow over the map of Tokyo to show that it copies the engineering of the city, and thus proves that these moulds can be quite efficient. Well, they were sent to ISS, too, showing that instead of a regular 2D growth, they grow into a 3D maze, and this was done by Dr Dussutour.
You can read an older interview from 2019 with her with the Joyful Microbe here.
excerpt from the story:
While you were waiting, the automaton slicing the ancient bones you had collected, selecting pieces for different methods, your attention shifted towards the microscope with sampled lichen and moss from the mountains. One of the stacks of dishes was overgrown with a strange slime mould, a single-celled hunter always in search of food in its proximity. Apparently, you did a terrible job feeding it because now it was stretching its protoplasmic strands in all directions, feeling for a gradient of nutrients to follow… The lab was a mess. But your mess. A little chaos you had created to challenge yourself in times of boredom. Although you had attempted to mend Thrawn’s uniform in the past – and to be honest, your needlework on his worn-out lapel and collar had come out as quite good to your opinion – you needed a change in routine.
So, you perched on a tiny stool and moved slides under the set of magnifying lenses, checking on the tiny microworlds again. You had noticed that their fluorescence grew more prominent in the proximity of the kyber crystal you had harvested in the cave, and its potent power manifested again now when it slipped out of your open shirt collar, dangling secured to a string around your neck. You could watch the pulsating life for hours.
You didn’t hear him coming in. Thus, when his presence hit your senses, you were completely unprepared, freezing mid-movement on your way from the shelf back to the microscope. You accidentally spilled the contents of the dish you were currently holding on the floor, the delicate glass smashing into pieces at your feet. When you bent down to retrieve whatever was salvageable from the floor, cursing mildly in the process, he made a few steps towards you.
---
This chapter is not plot-heavy, but as I promised some shibari in the past that should take place here... Yes, my dear thirsty reader, you're gonna be Thrawn's personal piece of this art for the night here.
