I've been meaning to ask, in the Silent Shanty au, how do Eclipse and Y/n know each other? And why doesn't Y/n remember him?

Well, they spent a summer together a long time ago.

Eclipse would travel overseas with his father during the summer, and while playing on the beach one afternoon he got swept out to sea by the current. Y/N helped pull him back to shore, and the two played together everyday that summer.

Those summer memories have always held a place in Eclipse’s heart, and he’s spent years trying to find them again. But it was such a long time ago Y/N’s nearly forgotten

NGL I have STRONG opinions about digital releases omitting the letters to the editor section of older comics. I feel like the letters are a part of comic history and should be aggressively preserved.

#look i was a weirdo and loved the letters so much #so much #so fucking damn much #i still to this day mourn that we don't have them #sometimes the editors would publish blatant aggressive criticism and promise to do better on some things #it was rare but it did happen in a handful of things involving stereotypes #also there is queer history in them such as in superboy and the ravers where people wrote in about hero #asking WHY he was not interested in women and this editor had to so professionally explain that he was GAY and where they stood on it #you also got to read queer readers writing in about these queer characters and the JOY in their words is priceless #also sorry but geoff's letters are fun and stupid at the same time and are a huge insight to what his hcs were #he LOVED tiny krypto so much it likely inspired him making dex starr bc he loved the idea of a small overly powered animal #not saying that was the main reason why ofc but it is interesting that he created dex after praising that mean little mutt #i say with the most love #my venting #my rambles

“what is it, kiddo?” he asks, his voice low and jumbled in your stomach.

you do your best to ignore what’s now a subtle throb between your legs. “i’m cold.”

you’re not sure if he believes you, but he doesn’t question it.

“then snuggle up close, c’mon,” he says. katsuki draws you in closer and reaches across his body to pull one of your legs over his.

you swallow. if he didn’t know before, he does now. the damp heat radiating from your core is intense and unmistakable. still you stay silent. you don’t see his grin, but you can hear it.

“you comfy, princess?”

you nod.

“good. now where was i?…”

his voice is so warm as he picks up where he left off, and gosh does it make you feel the same way. katsuki’s hand wanders down your back as you hold one side of the book at his request. your hips buck involuntarily into his leg from the comfort of his touch and the aching need still growing in you.

“s-sorry,” you murmur.

his soft laugh fills your ear yet again. “such a needy girl tonight. i can feel it. keep goin’, little one. try n get to the end without beggin’ me to help.”

There’s a lot to love about Solomon. He has tons of good qualities and his place in the overall plot of ObeyMe is solid. He’s well written and he’s the perfect example of how to write a powerful character. Which could be its own post tbh.

But the reason I like Solomon so much?

He’s absolutely devoted to MC.

Ya know those husbands in fiction that love their wives so much it’s cheesy Yeah that’s literally Solomon.

Loyalty is a very attractive trait in general but especially in romantic partners. This man was ok with the 3 realms being completely destroyed because he cares about MC that much.

Severing MC’s pacts by killing Lucifer would upset them and the mere thought of them hating him has stopped him from considering it all together. Killing MC isn’t an option anyone considers including Solomon.

Ya know, Mister “protector of humanity”? Dude was willing to let the human realm be destroyed for his crush.

This is around the time that I fell for this man and I fell hard. The first time I saw his blush sprite it was over for me. Hard to imagine now but I wasn’t always a Solobestie. Another white haired man had my heart, which honestly makes their lil rivalry hilarious.

Obviously the other characters are loyal to MC as well but Solomon’s loyalty feels different.

I love Solomon so much that he’s changed my worldview. I love humans infinitely more than I ever have because of him. He’ll always be important to me.

Idk what it is but i just love Homelander's mannerisms. Just something about them is so visually pleasing to me and I literally cannot articulate it. I would be an absolute menace in a relationship with him because i'd just sit watching him go about his day

yes! i agree! he has so many fascinating little isms that i love finding ways to translate into writing. antony starr is something of a genius when it comes to body language. he expresses SO MUCH without saying anything at all, whether it be with his hands, his expressions, or bouncing his knee.

i think it says something that we as a fandom love analyzing his myriad of micro-expressions, dissecting each scene for every twitch of his lips or brows. the thing about starr's acting is that you can really tell that he's IN character, and that it's all very intentional. if his face moves, it's because homelander is thinking or feeling something.

that level of intentionality is rare imo, and it makes him fascinating to watch

I had SO MUCH FUN with this ask.

Ok! In no particular order we have:

1970 short haircut. I belieeeeve this is the shortest his hair ever gets. Its something about the short almost buzzed top… like he had a buzz cut and he’s let it grow out… you can see his forehead and his eyes and his head just looks kind of exposed and naked in a masc way we don’t normally see. The shortness makes his hair sticks up all different directions…. He looks like he just got out of bed. Also, I want to pull on it and yank his head back.

1967 Sgt Pep/MMT. Okay, basically this is a feathered to hell version of his Beatles cut. He really said, “do it again, this time with texture”WAY more texture. He’s also got a cheeky part that sort of lives on the left side of his scalp. I mean look at all that texture!!!! and how the light reflects against it!!!! Look at those little pedals on his forehead!!!! I think his sideburns are an essential part of this look too.

I want to run my fingers back through it as I sit on his lap and force him to look up at me.

1969 Get Back Paul. Unbeatable. Even Paul knows this is his best hair. We’ve all seen how much he touches it, as if he’s constantly bringing attention to it. God. These Lucious locks. Fucking slut. He knows he looks good. This is exactly what my husband looks like so I’m definitely biased but Jesus Christ, I am down horrendous. I want to pull him by this hair and make him scream. The beard completes this look.

1980 DILF HAIR!!!!! Short in the back, long bangs in the front. He looks so fucking yummy like this. He really knew what to do to ease gracefully into his 40’s. With the distinct lines in his face, this contrastingly youthful cut does MAGIC for his sex appeal and overall charm. GOD! FUCK! Look at him in that car. Tell me you don’t want to tug relentlessly on that hair until he cries.

In 1986/7 Paul begins to sport the hair he will rock for basically the rest of his life. When I think of Paul now I think of this adorable flippy shag cut. I fucking LOVE those little wisps that peak out at you from behind his neck. It’s just so HIM and SEXY. Maybe because I associate this hair with his older self, I also think it’s quite distinguished. I want him to tell me I’m a good girl. Just be proud of me and tell me I’m doing a good job. I don’t even need to fuck this Paul, I just need him to love me unconditionally and tell me it’s all going to be ok.
