Pale (arc 2)

this is my liveblog post arc 2 thoughts and rambles! I took longer to read this arc (alas. IRL things meant i took a break in the middle), so thoughts are more scattered. Hopefully I get through Arc 3 faster? Tucking it under the cut for length, Spoiler warning!

this arc was fun!! the faerie are FANTASTIC and i love the traps. I think the whole... pulling strings to lure the story in a direction that you find interesting. All of that is SOOO fascinating to me because yes! Otherverse magic system is STRUCTURED around this... kind of half meta way of magic working. The Spirits make things stronger when they're narratively significant. Three is a powerful number and makes things STICK. If you break your oaths after you've sworn that the spirits can trust you (Awakening) then the story isn't fun anymore, and you're forsworn. Symbolism implies things both in a Narrative sense AND in an Other sense. I'm having fun :D

I like how much the Kennet trio feel like teenagers. The awkward dancing around romance and relationships sticks out to me in particular. Very 13 year old and very cute!! Their dynamics with the other kids in their grade are really interesting; I like how they have history with them. Mentioning Gabe only to have no one recognize his name is SO fun too. It separates them from their Innocent friends. I wonder how this will get worse as the story progresses? As Avery, Verona, and Lucy get more involved on the Other side of things, they'll leave the Innocent side of things behind... That division is present in Lucy's family relationships too.

Lucy's struggles are REALLY interesting. I like the layers. A bit of the way she talks makes me feel... I guess she feels very firm in her convictions. In Justice, in an Eye for an Eye, almost. Maybe not quite that extreme because. She's 13. but it's there!

Verona wanting to become an Other... Searching for an escape from the life that she's expected to live. Leaving the mundanity of ordinary life to experience something more interesting. Reading her thoughts on it during the Cat chapter was kind of bittersweet? She doesn't want to grow up or change. She'd rather have sleepovers forever.

Victor of the hungry Choir! Victor of the Hungry Choir! I have nothing to say here, I'm just really excited.

SNOWDROP. I've seen that little critter around and i love her,, I would die for her.

Interlude chapter was FASCINATING. GOD I love how the interludes so far are pushing things forward, giving insights and outsider POVs of the girls! It's so so cool!! I love how the Augurs don't know what's going on with the Kennet Trio, too. Very Very fun to Know things that the characters don't, and seeing them try to puzzle it out was fun. Nicolette doesn't know how to handle this at all! I love how fleshed out her life is too-- A lot of really fun worldbuilding details. This is typical of Wildbow's writing, but I love how many moving pieces there are.

Alexander.. This is the Augur who got Charles forsworn, right? (no need to confirm/deny this, i'm just thinking out loud).

Ooo imagine Carmy and his assistant (now also holding the girlfriend title) at work, and Carmy is like, “Hey baby- Eheh Y/n…” lol as Richie and the staff overhear and are like “😏”… Then Carmy’s like, “Anyways, uh- Bab-Y/n, remind me to call the refrigerator guy to fix the ha-“ Y/n: “Already done, Bear!” And he’s like, “Oh, okay, thank you! Did we get the prod-“ “Produce will be delivered today!” Lol and he keeps listing things that need to be done, but Y/n is on top of EVERYTHING, like Carm asks, “When is the food critic supposed to be he-“ and she immediately responds (before he finishes), “Next Friday at 2!” Anyways, the staff are all watching this exchange and can just can see how Carmy is literally about to explode, not in anger like he does a lot at work, but in love hehe, and he does burst… Suddenly he blurts out, “I f-ing LOVE YOU!” And Y/n is just standing there, absolutely stunned, the staff are all like “😲🤭” Carmy about to backtrack his words until Y/n dreamily says, “I love you too, Bear!”

Cue the staff TEASING THE ABSOLUTE CRAP out of them shshs, especially about how whipped Carmy is

Back to work

“Hey, Remind me to call the guy later to fix the refrigerator handle. That last guy did not do it well.” He said.

“Already called. He said he’d be in later.” You said quickly, he flipped some pages and turned his chair back to you.

“Oh.. thanks. Uh, what about that delivery-“

“It’ll be delivered tomorrow morning.” You said with a small smile, leaning against the doorway.

He raised his eyebrows and hit his spoon that was in his hand against his thigh, thinking.

“What about that food critic-“

“Probably around Saturday.”

He stared blankly, and he couldn’t think of anything else.

Richie, Sydney, Tina, Marcus and Ebra all watched this happen with smiles and Richie recording it all.

He stayed silent for a little, suddenly standing up and cupping your cheeks you looked confused as he leaned in and kissed your lips, making you very confused but you kissed him back anyways.

The 5 chefs watched in amusement, and Richie was definitely saving this to make fun of him later.

“I fucking love you.” He mumbled when he pulled away, making you laugh quietly, which made him just kiss you again.

“I love you too.” You mumbled when you both pulled away, your foreheads touching when Richie clapped slowly and Carmen immediately went away from you and folded his arms as if nothing had happened.

“Cousin I just hope you know that was fucking hilarious, and I recorded the wholeee thing.” He held up his phone.

“You’re whipped, Jeff.” Tina teased.

“Shut up.” He rolled his eyes. “Don’t you guys have work to do?”

They all stared at him. “Back to work!” He shouted, they all quickly nodded and did so while you giggled.

✰ MARK — drive-in theater

it honestly came to mind pretty randomly, as you two got back from your last exam of the semester, driving mindlessly for about two hours — not because you didn’t know what you want to do, but because you two simply just enjoyed doing nothing??? but so many things at the same???

just listening to the mixtape you made for mark, singing so loud everyone could hear since the windows were rolled down too… you felt a sense of freedom? some kind of… relief from the burdens??? it was a pretty hectic exam season you two had to endure and since it was finally over.. you couldn’t keep your excitement low

looking at each other with love and adoration, exhaustion vanishing in the company of the other one — it honestly should be studied? how easy it is for you two to affect the other???

you stumbled upon the drive-in theater by accident, it wasn’t planned or anything, you just wanted to simply spend your night at mark’s place and call it a day, watch a movie on his laptop while cuddling and stuff

but when you spotted the sign you couldn’t help but exclaim, getting all excited over it, even slapping mark’s upper arm… poor boy winced and just said “hey, no need to kill the driver”

you didn’t even need to convince him honestly, he immediately agreed and there you were… not knowing what was actually screening, blindly finding a good spot you two can park and enjoy the movie

it would’ve slapped if it was some kind of slasher horror from the 80s… but it was casablanca

WHICH IS SO CLICHÉ I KNOW BUT it makes So much sense and honestly, it’s such a big game changer to see it like that. it’s like an opportunity you shouldn’t miss

mark got some popcorn and something to drink, to make the whole atmosphere even more “vibey”, as he said, and you two just.. turned off your minds and watched the movie

discussing it and everything, like FELLAS, that’s the right experience! that’s how you watch a movie!!! YOU GOTTA ANALYZE THE SHIT OUT OF IT!!!!!!! ahah

in the end, when almost everyone drove away from the theater, leaving you two here with like.. only 3 other cars, mark gave a kiss on your lips, as a way of celebrating it all. it was for a fleeting moment only, yet it was so sweet and full of emotions

it was a reward, of some sort.

✰ RENJUN — museum date

there was this new exhibition at the local fine arts museum so… it wasn’t even a question that you two would literally RUN (and get a good use of the student discount ahah, it’s a lifesaver!)

casually choosing some elegant clothes which, of course, had to be matching to a certain extent – people HAVE TO see that you guys are together, plus it would look so good on the pictures

you expected lot more of people since it was the first week of the grand opening but it wasn’t that crowded. Which is a good thing honestly, you hate it when it’s sooo full you cannot even move properly

it was an exhibition of some impressionist works by some of the most renowed painters, it was a must to not only look the best, but to prepare yourself for a long day of strolling around

you usually spend tons of time in museums anyways, but this also as part of a date??? the security would have to kick you out asap.. ahah

renjun immediately reached for your hands to hold, while walking around, looking at the beautiful paintings, talking about whatever came to mind – not just about art itself, topics changed so fast you couldn’t even realize it by the time it did

being in art school meant that renjun can sometimes tell you little fun facts and tips&tricks he had learnt in uni

sometimes it amazes how well informed he is and how he knows so many know-hows.. not like you weren’t aware, you absolutely knew he’s smart AND TALENTED, but still ahah

after a good… 3 hours or so? you two decided to end the date with a quick stop at the museum shop :DDD it’s a must honestly, you gotta buy every magnet and postcard you can… especially of such beautiful paintings???!!! you would be stupid if you left without Anything

so you two bought tons of stuff… even some things you can exchange, as if they were gifts for one another :,) ahhh…

you just have to print out that picture of you two, taken in front of that big painting of mesmerizing flowers: renjun kissing you softly, hands on your waist, eyes closed

✰ JENO — stargazing

you had been planning this for literal days before… you know, getting everything together, like those cool ass lamps in a jar bottle with the led stuff, blankets you bought from a nearby art shop?? which sold basically everything??? ahah

drinks and snacks too… you were honestly So Ready to go stargazing! :D

you were supposed to go to that rather tiny park of the town which is mostly empty. that’s why you decided on going there, avoid people and stuff, just the two of you, looking at the constellations >:( honestly it’s so romantic it makes me Cringe (i crave it)

but in the end, you two decided to stay at yours instead, since your parents left for the weekend anyways, which is just a bonus: it’s the two of you in the backyard with the vast sky full of stars

idyllic??? romantic??? adorable and unforgettable??????

at first, you two just sat down on the swing bed your father recently bought at a random flea market he religiously visited every weekend :,)

but then, to use the blanket you brought outside (what a tiresome task ahah), you two laid down on the ground instead

the first constellation you spotted was the big dipper, exclaiming when you noticed it on the sky, gently shoving jeno’s shoulder, who was rather nonchalant at first

he then, of course matched your energy, and got super super excited, especially after noticing the ursa major :D he felt like he accomplished his life goal or something ahah (hes so stupid but in a cute way)

what the cherry on top was is his hands, reaching for yours, fingers intertwining, as your heart warmed up – you looked at him, his beautiful face, and noticed that adorable eyesmile of his

life felt good. you felt at home

✰ HAECHAN — restaurant hop

he fucking hates cooking lmfao he’s all like “yo girl i don’t think we should let Me get near that oven… we might burn up the whole house IJBOL” (he would definitely use ijbol irl)

so you were like…

hyuck, you literally don’t even have to come to the kitchen bro, i will cook… which happens most of the times when you decide to stay at home for dates

but this day!!! to spare you from the tiring task of cooking!!!!!!!! he said that you guys should try out restaurant hopping

you were confused as hell honestly, like wdym you want that, aren’t you a picky mf lmfao

but he said that he’s feeling adventurous and is pretty much lazy to go hiking or anything that a sane person would go for

and he felt hungry so it was like the best choice in his eyes – you were sick of spending most of your nights at his (shared…) apartment so you agreed after like… 5 secs of persuading

you wanted to plan out where you should go and maybe book a table at some restaurant but he was all like “honey, we should be spontaneous, go with the flow…”, so you did???? Ahah

the first restaurant was not even a restaurant, it was just the first street food stall you two stumbled upon, getting something for the both of you

you didn’t want to feel full so early so you chose something light (unlike hyuck who was sure he was “alright” but after like the second stop, he was dying because his stomach was hurting “So Badly”)

you ended the restaurant hop with a donut at one of the bakeries you usually go to – you know, to finish it off with something familiar??? now lemme just say, it was chaotic, because haechan could BARELY finish it and made it your problem, whining like a little girl after every bite

like you told him not to get the biggest, sweetest and greasiest one but he was sooo sure in himself, he said he’s got an extra stomach for desserts

well… was he wrong…….

you spent 1.5 hours there!!!!!! he took so much time LMFAOXJAJX they were closing already and he still hadn’t finished

so you tried to rush him and stuff but he turned his princess mode on ahah

but at least, on the way back to his place, he bought you tulips :) it was such a sweet gesture <3

not as sweet as his donut was…… (he almost threw up the next day cause he was feeling nauseous from the food)

✰ JAEMIN — picnic date

jaemin was so excited :( he literally couldn’t stop talking about it like.. that’s right dude!!!!!! we’re going on a date!!!!!! A PICNIC DATE!!!!!

he would literally live in the kitchen before the occasion so that he can cook&bake tons of things for you to eat :) he’s so… he’s so malewife

all you’re left to deal with is bringing the basket and checkered blanket, every other things are settled! they are in his hands, under his control :D

you two went to the park which is right next to the lake – you wanted to see swans while talking about anything and everything that came to mind (he literally compared your beauty to that of a swan… which made you almost tear up like BOY YOU DID NOT… argghhh)

it was a must to start it off with the most basic and cliché thing of everything: the chocolate covered strawberries, feeding each other all lovey-dovey, tooth rottingly sweet and stuff

everyone was possibly like “okay lemme just kms” when they spotted you two, all up on each other, legs all tangled together, stealing kisses from the other, while giggling so loudly

it was SOO so idyllic, almost like you two escaped from a romance movie, or a painting. it felt… perfect, in a way?

birds singing, the sun shining gently on your skin, while you could hear the laughter of the children running around, clouds in animal shapes

then the sun slowly setting, pinkish hues taking up the sky above, everything becoming quiet as time passes by

he hugs you tightly. tighter than ever, perhaps

✰ CHENLE — karaoke

if two weeks pass by without you and chenle going to a karaoke… Most probably it’s because you broke up or something

like girl ain’t no way you WON’T go to karaoke dates… nuh huh, impossible to even think of that ??? CHENLE, out of all people

that’s the least believable thing like i promise you!

like saturday night are for the gir- KARAOKE!!!!! :P that’s how it always goes, getting ready, putting on some casual clothes, maybe eating something quick before that, and then spending the entire time singing your lungs out

you don’t even have energy by the end of it, like it… seems impossible to even crawl back home :,)

but honestly it’s all worth it, comparing your score and stuff, seeing which one of you sings better

sometimes you just open instagram and do lives too, so that your followers can pick who they liked more

(it’s always chenle’s acc though like SO MANY people follows him, he’s like a celebrity… ahah!)

haechan always comes to watch and roasts the both of you, especially when it can be seen that chenle kisses you here and there

he types “EWWWW GET A ROOM FREAKS” and thinks he’s hilarious lmfao

you always start the date with a quick and energetic song, one that boost your energy up easily and then… honestly it depends on your mood

sometimes you gotta be in your moods and sing romantic ballads to each other, as if it’s a serenade

but then again, moods swing so quickly and you can end up in a rap battle too

you would totally eat him up tbh… and he knows it so well

he finishes the date off with the most cheesiest, lovely romantic song ever… like a confession said yet again, for the hundreth time

✰ JISUNG — amusement park

it wasn’t his idea honestly

it was all you coming up with it, because there was that one roller coaster you’d always been scared to go on

and since you haven’t visited ever since you had jisung… you thought MAYBEEEE (just maybe) it would be better with him

you can at least hold onto him and stuff

he wanted to eat before the ride though… you did not let him, of course, since you didn’t want him to throw up on you AHAH

but like, why did he came there RAVENOUS? duh … you’re gonna say goodbye to your guts on the ride girl what did you expect

but you know, the ride wasn’t even the part you enjoyed the most – it was good, of course, just not that… outstanding? i guess? it was alright… especially because you could hold jisung’s hand so tightly :,) it was honestly so adorable

they should’ve taken pictures of you like you’re sure you would’ve put it on the fridge or something

but after that, you went to the gift shop, to get those silly headbands!!!!! you got one that resembled a cat, and jisung got one with a hamster >:( it was adorbs

you two looked like those IT couples that you can always see in instagram, you know, holding hands, taking silly candid pictures and then eating sooo much food

FINALLY!!! thought jisung probably ahah you got so many sweets it was like you could feel your tooth decaying lmfao

at the end of the day, you two decided to try out the freshly opened photo booth which had been going viral for weeks

it was… an experience to say the least :,) but the pictures came out prettier than ever!!!! except for the one where jisung sneezed and you got all scared because he was Loud loud ahah

but the compensation was a fleeting kiss on your cheek! which was also captured on one of the pictures :)

Hi hi, it's me muzzle anon again ! How are you? I hope you are doing well, also sorry for this long rambling-

I juST remembered that when lyney and lynette were announced (?) some people thought that they would be One playable character, so I immediately thought how fragile reader and dottore being one playable character lol

just switching between them when you do a charge attack like furina's ability but instead of just color palate changing, a whole new person gets on the field lol

It's fun to imagine what their voiceline would be :]

Especially if we imagine that the only reason you would switch would be because they are in a fight when changing so the voicelines would be worried and/or intense?

And also fragile!reader being a support character and dottore being a DPS would fit the whole "we only need/have each other" mindset going on ?

ALSO ALSO when you add them to your team they could come into the screen dancing? Waltzing into their section then standing close to each other <3 evil couple being cool vibes

Their idle and voicelines probably would be still the same ?, talking as if the other is not there but maybe one special idle is like that one twirle/dance (?) idle from honkai star rail with Clara and Svarog? OH and Clara stumbles in that idle and svarog catches her , makes sense since fragile reader stumbles while trying to dance too so Dottore catches them by their waist and smirks, sharp teeth full display

...Also you know how characters has voicelines for hits/ damage? Reader and Dottore could have voicelines for warning each other to be careful, especially Dottore getting very worried when reader takes a heavy hit but when it comes to other characters he just goes scara mode maybe worse than, "Why are you even here?" or similiar to xiao going, "Weak."

(And maybe reader comparing the character that took damage to Dottore, praising him while degrading them gently lol <3)

Tho I'm not really sure how the teapot would work lol maybe there would be an option to switch them like you switch from night to day lol OR they automatically change when it's day/night I imagine that fragile reader would like the day time more and Dottore night, because he is a shady guy (and also because when he looks up to stars he remembers the Akademia days he had with reader and how they used to also stare at the stars <3)

With them being considered one character, now they are together forever <3

Sorry for the long message again <3 also english is not my first language so sorry if some parts seem weird I just rambled a lot without checking since i got very excited of the idea of a playable reader after the last post ehehe anyway hope u and everyone has a nice night/day!

OH MY GOSH NFKFEWFE I JUST LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS MUZZLE ANON... ugh fragile reader and Dottore being playable is so real!! And i too remember that about the twins!! man that was really long ago huh? Anyway...

I ADORE the idea of them switching while doing a charge attack!! omfgrfwfr I can just imagine reader doing a dramatic, fancy pose and then it switches to Dottore rolling his eyes at your antics and adjusting his gloves... ugh he loves to indulge you, doesn't he? “Hey,” Seungmin kindly greets you as he enters the kitchen, taking a seat at the table across from you.

“Hey,” you greeted him back casually.

“That makes me not want to get married,” Sungmin stated, his eyes bulging as he stares at the practically overflowing binder.

“That’s exactly what I said,” you laughed.

“Well aren’t you two just perfect for each other,” y/f/n jokes, retaking their seat at the table. Y/f/n and their fiancé often joke about how you and Seungmin should date. They say how it would be cute. Two pairs of best friends dating one another. You and Seungmin always just brushed it off though. You guys weren’t really that close anyway.

“Ok let’s get planning,” your friend excitedly says, opening the binder.

Today you and Seungmin had an appointment to select the flowers for the wedding. Both of you arrived at the shop and Seungmin held the door open for you to enter.

“Thanks,” you said with a small nod.

“No problem,” he smiled, following in after you.

“Welcome, what brings this love couple here?” An employee brightly asked.

“Oh, we're not a couple. We’re the maid of honor and best man for our friends’ wedding. We’re here to order flowers,” you corrected the employee.

“My apologies. You two just look really good together. We have some catalogs over here for weddings that you can look through,” the employee says, leading over to the catalogs.

After ordering the flowers you and Seungmin had to go double check some things with the venu.

“Seungmin, what do you think is better? The cream tablecloth or the pearl tablecloth?” you asked, holding the tablecloths side by side for comparison.

“Aren’t they both just white?” He questioned looking at the cloths.

“You’re not being useful,” you grumbled, going back to trying to find what color tablecloth is better suited for the wedding.

“I’m sorry. I live in a twelve color crayon box,” Seungmin chuckled out. “Look I know you want everything to be perfect for y/f/n, but who’s really gonna remember the color of the tablecloth?” Seungmin comes to stand beside you, placing a hand on your shoulder.

“You’re right, but I don’t want to let y/f/n down in any way. You saw that wedding binder,” you told him.

“Yeah I did, but you know she wouldn’t have put you in charge if she wasn’t confident that you do a good job,” Seungmin comforts you. His words bring a small smile to your face.

“I think the pearl one is the one,” you said, lifting the pearl tablecloth.

“Then let’s use the pearl one,” he smiles contentedly at you.

You went with Seungmin to get his suit for the wedding. Seungmin claimed that it would be best for you to come with him since he would never understand all the different shade colors that the suits come in or have any clue about what tie he should get.

Your eyes scanned the collection of dress clothes adorning the racks before pulling the suit pieces.

“Here, go try this on,” you told Seungmin, handing him the clothes. A few minutes later Seungmin emerges from the dressing room.

“Your girlfriend has a good eye. That suit looks great on you,” the tailor said as he monitored Seungmin's appearance.

“Thanks. It’s because she lives in a one hundred twenty colored crayon box,” Seungmin tells the tailor.

“Sungmin, here this tie is the same color as my dress,” you informed, walking up to where he stood.

“Do it for me,” he tells you in a lively manner. You pull him a little closer by the lapels of his suit jacket and reach up around his neck, beginning to tie the tie.

“There,” you say once you’re done, moving back to see the full look. Seungmin turns to look at himself in the mirror, but his eyes trail to where you're standing.

“So does this get your stamp of approval then?” he asks you.

“Yes, you look really good,” you told him. Maybe he’s imagining things, but Seungmin swears he sees a faint pink color on your cheeks that wasn’t there before. Seungmin was right, you were indeed blushing. Seeing Seungmin in that suit made you realize just how handsome he was and it had quite the effect on your heart. Spending all this time with Seungmin planning the wedding made you think about all the time your friend talked about how you should date him.

It was a few hours before the wedding and you and Seugmin, but mainly you were scrambling to make sure that everything was perfectly set up.

“Does this centerpiece look like it’s in the middle of the table to you? I think it’s a little too far left,” you question Seungmin.

“You’re doing it again y/n. Calm down, everything looks amazing,” Seungmin tells you. You take a deep breath to try and relax some.

“Ok. I should go get ready then,” you say, looking around once more to double check everything is still in its rightful place.

“Yes, go get ready. I’ll see you when it’s time for the big show,” he tells you playfully.

The ceremony was beautiful. Y/f/n looked like a princess and you don’t think that you’ve ever seen her happier. The same can be said about her now husband. They’re eyes shined and pure joy was on every ounce of their faces. Most importantly you're happy that your best friend found somebody to love and who loved them unconditionally. You may like to play an anti-romantic, but truthfully you wish to find someone to love as much as y/f/n and their husband love each other.

“May I have this dance?” Seungmin asks you, sticking out a hand for you to grab. It was now time for the reception and the newlyweds were having their first dance.

“You may,” you replied, setting your hand in his. Seungmin then guides you over to the dance floor. He placed one hand on your waist and you placed one hand on his shoulder, both of you leaving your other hands interlocked.

“I’d say we did a fairly good job. Don’t you think?” Seungmin takes a look around the room, admiring all the work the both of you did.

“Yeah I’d say so. Y/f/n told me it was everything she imagined and more,” you happily remarked.

“So I guess the pearl tablecloths were the right choice then,” he pokes.

“Do you live in a thirteen color crayon box now?” You poked back.

“I’ve been thinking about upgrading to the twenty-four pack,” he tittered.

“I think that would do you some good,” you responded cheekily. The both of you then laugh lightheartedly. A part of you feels a bit sad that after today you won’t have a reason to see Seungmin so often. Who knew planning a wedding with someone could be so bonding.

“What is it?” he quizzes you upon noticing the slight change in your face.

“I’m gonna miss spending time with you,” you told him honestly.

“Then don’t stop spending time with me,” he states like it was obvious.

“What are you saying?” you question him.

“Look maybe I shouldn’t say this at someone else's wedding, but I think it would be nice if we dated. Like how our friends always joke about,” he confesses.

“I think that would be nice too,” you admitted. Seungmin pulled you closer by your waist and let go of your hand to wrap you up in a hug. You slither your now free hand around his other shoulder to reciprocate the hug. Both of you slowly swaying to the music.

“It only took us getting married for them to finally start dating,” your friend tells her husband when she notices you and seungmin together.

“Guess we should’ve got married sooner,” he joked.

In case things weren’t cliche enough you caught the bouquet of flowers when it came time for the flower toss.

“Guess it’s time to start planning our wedding huh?” Seungmin jests from behind you, whispering into your ear.

“After this one I think I need a year to recover,” you dramatized.

“I can wait. I could use the recovery time too,” he responds, pulling you into his chest. You simply leaned into his embrace enjoying the moment.

You are completely right that Riley is Heshs' daemon. On that note, Elias and Logan also have dog like daemons, but theirs are more supernaturalesc. (I have no idea if daemons can take mythological forms. The only thing I remember about them from the movie is that the young ones can shapeshift)

Elias has a hellhound, and Logan has a graveyard Grim.

Merrick has a lion

Kick has a bright red fox that likes to sleep on his shoulders

Rorke has a black panther

Ajax had a felcon

Neptune has a ferret

And Keegan tells everyone he's a Witch and that he just keeps his daemon far away from danger when in reality he was one of those poor kids that got shoved in that machine that separates person from daemon and just can't bring himself to tell anyone that his life long bestfriend died in his arms mere hours after the "operation".

Hah! I love being right! Love that the Walkers all have doggie type daemons. From what I've read (I went down a lore rabbit hole) dogs are common among military types due to the loyalty/obedience bit dogs have. The fun thing is, Hesh+Riley would be a rare pair in the uni, given Daemons are often the opposite sex of their human. (I also have no clue if they can be mythological, but we ain't gonna restrict ourselves here. Your au, your rules, and if you say "there be dragons" then well damn, sure are. Look at that...)

Hellhound, beasts of the underworld! Lovely that such a nice guy would have an animal that's quite honestly so spooky and even brutal.

Logan's is neat, because you can either have it literally, like that is the spirit of a dead dog buried first to protect the dead following him around, or it's just a big black dog. Either way, a good girl.

Merrick with the lioness! Nice. Courageous, protective, AND very family/pack centric. Check check and check for MerBear here.

Kick with a fox. Often typed as clever and even trickster animals, on top of smelling bad and screaming.... sounds like Kick. (They're also playful, can even be wise.)

Ah, black panthers. Stealthy and deadly predators... also solitary. Kinda ironic but fitting that an animal sometimes called "the ghost of the jungle" would be Rorke's companion. Given he's a ah... ghost in the jungle.

Love falcons, and your mind may go to a peregrine for Ajax, but I think the ghostly gyrfalcon would be better suited ehehe. They're larger and live in more arctic climates in the northern Americas. (So Canada +Alaska.) But anyway, like other falcons they're stunningly fast. Vigilant and precise.

Neptune +ferret. Love ferrets... mammalian noodles. Playful and affectionate, ferrets are also fairly intelligent! They can be trained to walk on-leash and even taught a few fun tricks.

Oh poor Keegan, we love to hurt him. I'd love to know what he daemon was before they got severed, if his daemon even had a solid form by that point. Reading up on it, seems like the severing happens to kids, and on top of just being mean as fuck to sever someones soul from them, it renders the victims kinda directionless and depressed. And the severing bit itself it traumatizing depending on how the two are separated, because earlier methods were more crass. Everyone has rumors what kinda bird his is, or even if it's a really small insect like a bee he just hides somewhere on him, but the truth is a lot more devastating. Oof.
