I'm tired of people reblogging posts like this without checking their sources. There are some obvious red flags here. For starters, op claims they've witnessed the main cell personally, but if you actually check the prison's rules, visits have been banned for several months now [x]. The prison is armed with state of the art security measures, including lava, barriers, and numerous manual searches, to name just a few [x]. Speaking as an authority on the prison myself [x], I can safely confirm that these security measures, as well as the prisoner, are in perfect condition. Don't be so quick to buy into conspiracy theories.

Hey hi hello I'd like to tell you about the wonderful gift my friend @swordsmans made for me.
I literally spent Thursday night just. Looking through it and turning it over in my hands. It's SO pretty and has SUCH A VISION in the making of it. Gyro's work is amazing. Just. Look.
The cover? The gold foil lettering? God. It looks so good on my bookshelf. And the DETAIL. They painted the edges of the pages guys, it looks SO COOL.
(excuse the low-quality photos, I have learned i am terrible at staging books, but just LOOK AT THESE PAGES.)
Okay and now for me waxing poetic about this.
When gyro first mentioned that they were going to start commissions for binding people's fics I was excited for them and also planned to commission them to bind one of my own fics. I knew I wanted to get a bound copy of their fic The Sea Makes Bones of Bodies as well, because if you haven't seen the typesets for that and the copies they've made you really should (here's my personal favorite of their copies). So I reached out and imagine my surprise when I discovered Gyro was already planning to do so.
Genuinely one of my favorite experiences in fandom is seeing people make art for their favorite fics and be inspired by other fanworks so when I tell you that I was BEYOND HONORED about this and SO PUMPED, like. I don't have words. I'm so grateful to have received such a lovely gift (it's on my bookshelf next to my copy of Rilke. Rilke.) and I keep running around with a huge smile on my face because I still can't believe anyone liked my silly Zolu fic enough to be inspired to actually bind it and now I have it in my hands.
I don't actually know anything about bookbinding except for what I've gleaned from Gyro but I did wonder how it would like. Feel in my hand compared to traditionally published books. I'm super careful with it because I love it so much but this thing is not going to fall apart at the drop of a hat. Also the book just feels nice in my hands. Weird thing to notice maybe but Gyro also picked a lovely font? I read the fic (IN BOOK FORM AHHHHHHH) and it was just as readable as it is on AO3 (though obviously this is way better/more special askdfjajjakkkiss).

Clingy Cove is the best! Love him to bits.
-- When it comes to you, the boy just does not need personal space. It's not a requirement. Totally unnecessary.
-- If you do need it, that's fine! He'll absolutely give you as much as you need with zero complaints! Being clingy often has a negative connotation, but that's not what it is with Cove. He fully supports you doing whatever you need to do emotionally, having friends, being with your family, all of that OBVIOUSLY.
-- But if it was entirely up to him, he'd just rather be with you always. You are home to him, you have been for almost his whole life. With you he feels safe and comfortable, he feels like himself. He feels seen and accepted and loved, and it's the best feeling in the whole world.
-- So if you need some time to yourself, just tell him, ok? Because otherwise he's going to want to be right there.
-- You don't actually have to DO everything together, parallel play is wonderful! If you work from home, he'd just want to hang out in the same room if he's home too. If you're cooking dinner, then he can help, or at least sit on the counter looking pretty. If you need a nap and he's not sleepy, maybe he'll lie down with you anyway and read. And when he's older and more settled, why take two showers when you can just share one?
-- For real on that last one though especially, he's in ORCA, he's going to be about water conservation. Baths/showers together are very very important quality time.
-- It's like he just sort of doesn't understand the appeal of being alone if he could be with you. Again, if you do, that's great, he's more than willing to work with it.
-- I am going to be lazy and copy and paste something from another ask because it fits here too and I was thinking about this one when I wrote it lol
-- The whole thing about Cove is that to him, you are the best person in the world. And that's not just something to say, he literally thinks you are the best person in the entire world. He doesn't know most of the other people, sure, but he doesn't have to because how could anyone else be better than you? Remember, when he was little he thought you were actually made for him, and even though he's grown up and he's realized that's not how people work, the general belief is still there. You are the only person for him, and in that way, you were made for each other.
-- When you live together, if you like to sleep in or if you just sleep a little later than he does, every day is going to start with him trying to figure out if he should get his day started or just cuddle you for longer.
-- Sometimes if he really needs to get something done and decides to get up while you're still sleeping, he'll feel bad and try to sneak back in bed without waking you up. This, or if he really is just too busy, you have to get in bed earlier to make up for the lost time.
Cove: Come on, it's bedtime!
You: It's 8:30.
Cove: Yeah, and there's a cuddle deficit that we need to address.
-- He knows the exact math on this, don't try to argue with him.
-- I could genuinely do this all day.
-- What if after Step 3 you move away? Man is that gonna be hard.
-- I don't generally like the idea of taking Cove away from the beach, but I think if it's between the beach and you, he's going to pick you every single time.
-- So it may take him a little bit if plans are made more last minute, or if you don't confess right away, but if he knows you're going to college for FOUR YEARS far away, or if you get a job in another state? He's going to have a hard time just letting that be that.
-- When you are apart, he will text all the time. He's not expecting a conversation every time, he's fully aware of how clingy he is, but if he sees something that reminds him of you, he'll send you a photo, stuff like that.

ATTENTION ALL PERSONNEL!
Plea to M*A*S*H-obsessed Tumblr- can anyone help me find the highest quality version possible of this photo?
I am looking for the highest quality version of this photo as possible. Needs to be the whole thing- bodies, bike and all.
I've got the Suzy Kalter Complete Book of M*A*S*H, which has the image in it, but the quality is not ideal. If you have this book, and know how to get a high-res scan, it's on page 234/235.
The above version is 1536x2048. If anyone is crafty and create a high-resolution version of the image from Kalter's book (or another source I don't know about?? Kalter's book is the only place I've seen this photo in full) please let me know. I was around for the original run of the show, which means I'm not very techy and I have no idea what can and cannot be done with this image. But I also know there are lots of very talented fans out there who know what magic buttons to push and make it work.
If that's absolutely impossible, this is the next best thing (page 233 in Kalter's book):

It’s available digitally and physically and has FOUR tracks with “FIRE TRUCK” being its title track. VENUS promoted the album for four weeks during which they performed each track on the album at least once.
Notably, Baebi was missing from these promotions, allegedly still on hiatus. The girls were promoted heavily in Japan, attending various variety shows and music shows, filming numerous vlogs, and reality show content. They held three fan meetings in Japan as well as multiple concerts around the country.

This era was just full of problems. Literally, so many problems.
Notably their last release under Angelico, many believe this only happened to get them out of the public eye in Korea due to the whole "Baebi is missing" controversy.
Their fans in Japan cared that Yoonah was missing but pulsars (japaneses constellations sub-fandom name) are mainly there for Aki and Jiah.
This album did well in Japan and even made some noise in Korea and America but that's just because it's VENUS. Twitter was pretty brutal to Firetruck and was trashing the producer left and right lol
Many fans speculate the songs used for the album were just laying around because this release was RUSHED. It was announced one week then out the next, like, the planning was very poor.
There was a lot of controversy with the physical albums themselves. Many fans complained that the quality was really poor and the photobooks were falling apart.
Oh...The Photobooks...
Slumber Party Version caused a lot of upset among fans due to how provocative the photos were. The girls were in lingerie and posing on beds like it was lot. It was clear who Angelico was trying to pander to and constellations DIDN'T like that.
"Our photobooks caused quite a stir," Jiah would say at a concert in Oaska, trying to keep the mood lighthearted. "I told them it wasn't a good idea. The thought of people having pictures of us like that doesn't make me happy." She would go on to say, causing more upset with fans.
Beach version was no better despite its cute cover photo. It was truly like getting a copy of sports illustrated.
Jinhwa was already disliked by constellations at this point but now they wanted his head on a stick like-
Yoonah wasn't brought up once by literally anyone. It would later be revealed that fans who attended the concerts and fan meetings were not allowed to ask about her and if they did they'd be removed from the venue.
Not suspicious at all.
The reality show "V4: Kyoto n' Tokyo" was very cute though! A lot of fans enjoyed watching the girls explore Japan. It was very sweet and light-hearted.
Sena vlogged the most out of the girls, keeping the group's Youtube alive with daily uploads.
Many fans wished this didn't happen, I'll be honest lmao it was very clear what was going on and they didn't appreciate the company doing this. They attempted to boycott but it did very little seeing it was a Japanese release, it really didn't matter if a constellation from Missouri wasn't buying the album.
Red alert is often written off by fans and many don't acknowledge its existence.

“Holy shit! Bitch! I was beginning to get worried!” A hoarse voice yelled at me down the phone. “I know you said not to panic until a week had passed, but, girl, when I saw you go off with that guy and the state you were in...shit! Are you okay?”
“Where are you? I’m coming to you. This is going to be such a scoop! Jared is going to shit himself when he finds out!”
“A scoop! A first for Nora Ling! I can almost feel the Pulitzer in my hands! How do I look?”
“With me, is Deputy, uh, Deputy Ward of the Sheriff’s Office,” Nora quickly recovered. In her eagerness to land her scoop, she’d not gotten Ted’s name, so had to quickly squint at his name badge. “Deputy, can you confirm the rumours that you’ve found Amy?”
“But when I ran the plates a couple of days later, it wasn’t a cab. The car had been reported as stolen from a local resident in Luna,” Nora came up and slung an arm around my shoulder. “But the plates didn’t match the car listed on the DMV. So, chop shop, right? I went to the police in Albuquerque, but got poo-pooed. They wouldn’t even take a witness statement from me. So, I went to my boss at the paper, and he basically told me to go and take some photos at the dog fair.”
“Fuck!” Nora had finished her call. “Fuck! Fucking Courtnee Fucking St. Claire-James. Fuck. That fuck-face Jared, has taken the story, that I broke, from me, and is sending in Courtnee St.Claire-James to take over. Because she has ‘better screen quality and gravitas’. Fuck!”
“I can dream. Just a ‘Nora Ling who broke the story’, you know? My scoop! My five minutes of fame, and introduction to investigative journalism. But Jared just erased me with a wave of his hand, and now Courtnee St. Claire-James is getting all the credit. Ugh!”
“We’ll be there,” Nora had turned her attention back to the conversation. “Courtnee just posted that she can’t get anyone to comment from the Sheriff’s Department. I can’t imagine her face when I waltz in and get a quote from Sheriff Harris himself,” she smiled slyly, and also helped herself to one of my pancakes, having polished off her own.
Nora watched him leave, and closed her laptop when she saw one of the photojournalist’s staring at her. She gave him the stink eye. “Yeah, that’s right buddy. The scoop was mine!” [...]“It’s a dog eat dog world in journalism. If you think none of them would push me into oncoming traffic for a chance to get inside the Sheriff’s Office, then you’re more naive than I thought.”
“You know, she’s only the face of the Independent Chronicle’s social media department because her dad owns the paper, and paid for her boob job.”[...]“Of course! I’d kill to have those connections, and I’d rinse the hell out of them. Do you know how far ahead of my career I’d be if my dad owned a newspaper, or news channel? Why? Why did Ju-Long Ling have to be a dentist?!”
“Holy fucking shit!” Nora sounded as if she was screaming. “Oh my god! Oh my god! Oh my god! I have so much to tell you, but first; I need the deets. Tell me everything. Fill me in. I have five million followers who need to know!”
“I’ve...uh...I’ve stolen a copy of the letter. It was just lying out. I took a quick snap when the forensics guy put it down to fill in paperwork. Does that count as interfering with a crime scene?”
“Yeah, yeah,” Nora waved me away. “I’ve got releases for them. I’m not a monster. I have ethics, y’know.”
(On meeting Avery) “You know who I am!” Nora looked like she might faint with happiness. “I was at one of your parties that you threw at Samson’s in twenty-eighteen. It was the best night of my life”
“I’m never drinking again,” she croaked. “Why are all the phones ringing at once?”[...]“I don’t understand how they are still upright,” Nora groaned. “Words in my head are too loud. I’m going to be silent forever.” [...]“Some booze,” Nora looked green. “You were behind the bar, pouring cups of tequila into the basin.”

this was previously posted to tumblr in much lower resolution (640x634 pixels). the above is the best-quality (least-downsized) copy of the image I could find through reverse image search and other likely searches
the artist does not seem to have a dedicated portfolio site. there's a facebook page, but I don't see this piece on there. there are different subsets of his work on the following sites (the selection possibly varying with auctions coming and going or galleries disappearing)—

the specific image posted here isn't from any of the above. it's from another art auction site, “1stdibs”

so anyhow, unfortunately, I didn't find a title or a year it was made or anything else like that. if anyone can find this out (or find a proper source) please let me know!
(btw, google's reverse image search's biggest result was still only 960x950
still better than the original tumblr upload, but it's always worth checking multiple reverse image searches if you want to find the highest-quality version of some image. though you still have to sift through the “big” results to look for shitty upscaling, or to check if it's actually a photo of a reproduction or w/e)

House of the Dragon : Stills / Screen-cap Resources
Making this mostly for my discord as per usual, but some people have asked me where I get my files for edits. not tagging this with anything since the more people who know about these, the more they will be targeted for takedown...but i'd like other fans to enjoy them as much as i have, too.
Stills: [these are photographs taken during production rather than images pulled from footage, so they tend to be higher quality and have better lighting without the various filters]
Section of Randomess is amazing - free, no ads, great quality, easy to download, but does not update frequently.
Warner Brothers Media very well organized, search by episode, date, etc. all very official as they literally make the show. however these are intended for use in press releases, and you need to have a press account to download the files. still, you can look at all the previews.
MovieStillsDB updates very frequently, has the largest collection of images released by official sources spanning all the various international hbo media accounts. you do need an account to download, and credits, but the most "expensive" credit packages still come out to less than 10c per a photo.
Kinorium this kind of has everything in one place which is nice, but the quality is lower. i usually use it to find an image i like, then right click and 'search image in google' to find a higher resolution version.

Stock photo websites i am CHEAP and these are EXPENSIVE so i don't have a lot to say about them, but the big ones like shutterstock and almay usually have a selection of high resolution images too.

Cinematerial i think this is the sister site to moviestills, similarly you can browse everything but need credits to download, and they have the same pricing system. still it's pretty great because they have every variant of each poster including international ones, and they offer very high resolution copies.

Screencaps: images pulled ['captured'] from the episodes
there are probably dozens or even hundreds of sites with screencaps, but my favorites have been these two
Cap-That very thorough caps from every episode that can be viewed and downloaded individually in 4K, or downloaded in zips for each episode in standard HD.
and i do mean very thorough. each episode has on average four thousand images.
comparatively the zips from another site [lostintimegraphics] have about one thousand images per an episode.
what makes them "special" in addition to few ads (comparatively) is that they brighten the thumbnails on each page, a MUST to see wtf is going on in some parts, given how dark the show is.
when you click on the thumbnail and download the file, it is unfiltered/as appears in show, it just makes it easier to find the file you want instead of wading through a sea of black thumbnails.
So-Obsessed i think this is managed by a single person and i give them MAJOR props for that. they not only have 4k screencaps of HotD, but also every episode of Game of Thrones.
they are sorted by episode, there is no download a zip option, only individual files. they also have a stills gallery. there are no ads, which is wonderful.
the only reason i prefer cap-that is because they have 3x times the number of images for each page. despite both sites being comparably thorough, on so-obsessed there are 120 pages for episode two, and on cap-that there are 40.
you also can't right click/open in new tab/download images, you have to use their toolbar. it's well designed, just slower for me who is accustomed to the other method.
ok, am done. if you're wondering why the fuck anyone would want screencaps or stills, personally *i* like using them for edits to entertain me in the offseason, see here.

QL thoughts
So here's my reactions to the premiere of Quantum Leap 2022.
First off, I liked it! And it's not a reboot, it's definitely a sequel. Just FYI.
Reminder that my criticisms/nitpicks are not representations of how I felt about the show, just things I noticed, and can look past.
Spoiler warning...
I enjoyed myself and I want to see more, and I'm gonna be antsy all week waiting for the next one
I hope Ben's personality shines in the next episode. In this one, there was too much going on to really nail him down as a character. But it does have the moment where he risks himself to help a guy when he doesn't even have to, which shows that the show is keeping with the ethos of the old series, and making him a selfless altruist like Sam was.

So cool to see Ernie Hudson as Magic, hope we get more into his past, like if he remembers Sam leaping into him.
Leap plot was rushed, which was a shame. I think the first episode should have been extended or a two-parter, but c'est la vie
It did seem to front-load a lot of things that might not have been needed right off the bat
The effects did feel rushed (like for example when the handlink shows that Scott Bakula DVD cover promo photo and there's a point where the beam doesn't track with the handlink, which is a sloppy mistake) but I mean, I've been a student filmmaker and VFX artist and I don't really care about how flashy it is as long as it gets the job done, and it did.
Addison was a fine character, but as observer she could be better. As many have said, Al's best qualities as the sidekick are sadly absent in her at this early stage. Namely, the costumes that made Al stand out as an obvious anachronism, and the irreverent personality. I don't want Addison to be a copy of that, of course, but so far she does a lot of blending in. But, it's only the first episode. Things may change.

Scott Bakula has said unequivocally he has no involvement in this series, which bums me the hell out. If this show does well enough, they may get enough money to wave in his face though... right?

Kefta Cosplay Tutorial, Part One
The other parts will exist whenever I finish making the thing because I’m literally adding onto this tutorial as I make it
This originally had a whole lot of commentary at the beginning and it felt like one of those online recipes that’s 90% useless backstory that no one reads, so most of it ended up in the bin. You’re welcome. I also apparently discovered that there’s a 10-image limit or something so this is going to have like twenty parts instead of two, but oh well

Of the Grisha orders, the Heartrenders have always been my favorite because I’m in love with Nina because their powers are so cool and versatile and interesting, so that’s what we’re making here today!
Here’s the pattern I ended up using. If anyone is interested in it but doesn’t want to actually have to buy it themselves, I can try to lay each pattern piece out on a grid and take a photo so you know the scale and can copy them yourself.

Sorry about the glare, I took the picture when it first arrived in the packaging and currently I have no idea where the actual envelope is.
I always like to make a mock-up of my costumes before using my nice fabric, and I had a bunch of old felt that had a bunch of holes in it but worked well enough. It helped me figure out the sleeves, since the ones with the pattern were far too loose, as well as tailoring through the bust and waist a bit more. The pattern I used had two pieces in the front of the bust, so you have a visible seam there versus the ones in the show that appear to have one solid front, but I liked the fit of the pattern I got and the seam ended up providing a helpful reference when it came to the embroidery later on.
For the final version, I ended up making it a size larger than what I did for the mock-up, and I’m very glad I did. Because it was too small, and because felt stretches, it warped weirdly around the waist (creating that bit that bubbles out where the buttons end) but that doesn’t happen on the final version because the fabric is heavier and hangs differently, and because it doesn’t stretch.
I love the red fabric I found- it’s the perfect color and it has enough texture to it up close without having a super visible weave. However, it was too thin and I could tell it wasn’t going to drape right, so I lined it with interfacing. The entire thing. In retrospect, I should’ve given in and just gotten a heavier fabric, but I found the one that I liked and I was going to use it. So that was fun.
This is also your friendly reminder to pre-wash your fabrics!! I had so much that I couldn’t really do it in the washing machine
This was my first time using transfer paper for a pattern, believe it or not, and oh my god that stuff is amazing. I have no idea how I’ve been able to function without it for so long. I don’t like cutting my patterns down to size (like I couldn’t have done the next size up from my mock-up if I’d cut it to that smaller size) so I usually just stick a pencil underneath and trace but this was so much easier
And now we have all of our pieces cut out and can iron the interfacing on. Looking back, I should’ve ironed the interfacing to the entire bolt of red fabric (or even just pinned them together) and cut everything out at the same time, but I ended up having to place the red pieces on the interfacing, trace them, cut them out, and iron them on. I’m very talented at making stuff overly difficult for myself
That’s the finished interfacing, successfully ironed onto every single piece. It took forever and I hate myself.
Seeing as there’s an image limit, apparently, I’ll wrap up part 1 here. I’m planning for part 2 to cover the actual construction of it, part 3 to be all of the embroidery, and part 4 to be finishing up the lining and stuff, but I have no clue if I’ll be able to stick to that schedule.

Boy this years Nurse's Ball better be good. Despite GH knowing how to do it up big, that doesn't mean all these coinciding stories that will take place before/during/after the Ball will present any kind of "entertainment". Sure there will be surprises but... The bar is set real low, C&D I'm looking at you bastids.
Mostly looking forward to Tracy making an appearance and Epiphany's tribute. I miss Monica/Leslie.

The only way I will tolerate little man Michael Corinthis (Quartermaine who?) is if he turns to the dark side. No Jaaon wannabe, but a good guy turned bad because of his fake vendetta against Sonny blowing up in his face and take his little sidekick Joss too. Replace Dex as the Jason prototype we didn't ask for and get this party started. Carly can go sit in a corner and bake imaginary brownies that nobody asked for cause she's been taking lessons from Bobby in secret that we care not to know about. Hansel and Gretel anyone? These kids Wiley and Amelia, better make like Michael and Janet and Scream! lol.
I'd love to see a good story being told without to much of the repeated copy and paste tactics from C&D. The advantage of a serial soap opera is you get more room to explore different types of stories without the limitations of a regular tv series. The last 7 years have not been spectacular for GH. There's not been a "good run" or an era to mark quality soap writing.
Most of the characters are too two-dimensional and inconsistent with the inconvenience of bad writing/retcons.
Which beleved character(s) would you like to make a brief return to shake things up for 2023?

After a long time consideration, I decided between RedBubble and Society6, that I would prefer to keep my RedBubble store open and shut down Society6 instead. Mainly because it's much easier to upload new works onto RedBubble without creating dozens of copies so it could fit into Society6's products and Society6 really does limit you on what or where you can upload your artwork on, including cropping your work on their products. I will keep Society6 open for the holidays and it will be closing on January 6th, 2023.
I have used RedBubble more often and bought my own works to test their quality, from stickers, mugs and shirts especially that brought a great impression. They turned out really good! cds anon again!! thanks for putting a link! i was able to get to them through it, i have never bought much merch before so idk if u or anyone could tell me which one would be better to buy? like what are the difference between the zine and the other one :) thank uu
Which one is better is going to be entirely up to you and what you want to get out of it! I personally think the zine is worth the few extra bucks, but maybe it’s not to someone else.
So the main differences are that the standard cd has 14 tracks but the deluxe has 16. The two additional tracks on the deluxe version are Headline and Holding Onto Heartache. The standard version still comes with a little booklet that has the lyrics in it and some photos of Louis, but it’s a smaller, more traditional kind of liner notes. The deluxe has a zine which is… a lot of pages. I don’t remember how many tbh and it’s CHOCK FULL of photos. It still has all the lyrics and everything like the liner notes for the standard, but it’s larger and just filled with more photos from the photoshoot he did for the album. It’s beautiful, such a cool aesthetic, and exactly up my alley for what I like to collect from my favorite artists.
And that’s basically it! So if you don’t mind not having the two bonus tracks and wouldn’t ever really look at the zine, then save a few bucks and go for the standard cd! But if you want the two extra songs in there and you feel like you’d make use of the zine, then it would probably be worth the few extra bucks for the deluxe edition with the zine.
Now, the version available from target and hmv or whatever that store is, is actually super cool. At first glance it looks like the standard cd, but it’s got all of the songs on the deluxe cd AND two extras: Paradise and a live version of Copy of a Copy, which is a really quality recording. PLUS the cover is a lenticular which looks incredibly cool. I’ll try to post a video I took of mine below. So if you want 18 tracks instead of 16 or 14 and you like the cool cover and don’t mind missing out on the zine, then that might be the cd for you.
Hope this helps break it down a little bit more for you!! I know there’s a lot of options. Choices are HARD haha

there is salt and there is butter
heat from the stove
the cracked tiles and the quiet sizzle
dirt beneath fingernails
you count all that’s left
hold it at arm's length
close enough to feel
far enough to not love
when everything left is precious
nothing is safe
and the number diminishes
right before your streaming eyes
is it the steam from the scratched pan
or the bittersweet edge of remnant
what has stuck around
what you could stop from slipping through your fingers
you can keep making your total
count your humming fridge
count your wrinkled clothes
but when you notice each a new stopwatch starts
the list grows and time shrinks
the list stops and time shrinks
the list is thrown away and time shrinks
the clock ticks regardless of inventory
it will all disappear
the smell of garlic scratches the peeling walls
you hesitate realizing you forgot to add yourself
but you cannot lose what you are
the list of loss is far greater
an entire past compared to the minute present
the fallen soldiers of broken dishware
and photos you forgot to make copies of
the have seems nothing compared to the haven’t
and that’s disregarding the things never had
the opportunities lost at a moment’s notice
so fleeting they never even made the list
you tell yourself things were better once
you had everything you wanted
but they were stripped from you in waves
layer upon layer husked by time
no rope strong enough to tie it all together
no safe secure enough to keep it truly kept
the golden sauce streams on the chipped plate
it was a fool’s effort to be okay forever
but it was never hoarding
you were too precise for that
you loved what you had
but you never had it all
and it all was never goal
it all was just the orchard
pick a basket’s worth
to hold in your arms
accumulation sure
but loss and gain made fair exchange
until loss grew more ravenous
and gain started to cough
the almost flickering lightbulb
bread crust on the counter
the fork in your fist
drops of sink water
loss grew outside your shell
and became the main quality of the world
an affliction of the living
a description of the dead
it infected you as much as anyone else
after years of already gnawing at your bones
more and more ducked past your intended watchfulness
a holey blanket and a book depaged

little to do to mitigate that
the largest threat to any little realm
is its leader
so you accidentally broke

and with the state of the world

the list morphed from a game of appreciation
