Another fantastic prompt I got. Jesper in a Kefta ... but shirtless. How was he suppsed to know? Some anonymous donor probably just sent it to the van Eck mansion and, well there wasn't exactly an instruction manual to go with.

Do you ever think about how Heartrenders are the only Grisha to wear kefta adorned with black?

What if it's meant to be an acknowledgement of Aleksander's paternity? Baghra refused to share any information about his father, but later she claims he was a powerful Heartrender. Sure, she could've lied, but she could've said the same to Aleksander too, when he got too annoying one day.

When Second Army was established, it was too late to even look for the man, so the Darkling honored him by sharing his own colour with his father's "kind".

first big divergence: orange as opposed to red. i made sure not to have any repeat embroidery colors.....even though i changed alkemi so there is no red anymore.............anyway. i'm iffy on this one bc i suck at drawing fire but i think it turned out (it's mostly just the upper side panels cuz they look a lil too fur-ish)

they were teal in the show right?? idk but. this one might me my favorite, but i do fear it's a lil complicated, but then again: i can do whatever the fuck i want. and no i cannot draw water without copying the great wave. whatever it's sick

coporalnik were harrdddddd. heartrenders are--naturally-usually symbolized by the heart but i hate drawing real hearts so cartoon hearts it is!! kinda feel like that kinda heart wouldn't exist in this universe..... but hey look it pointy

healers

heart but upside down!! (seriously what r u supposed to do.) plus bandage imagery, as a treat. these two were really just Vibes.

durasts

also pretty hard, also mostly just Vibes. btw it is a distinctly different shade of gray (1 of 50, i've heard) from the squaller silver. u will not catch me lacking nice try bud

alkemi

the most notable sticker-outer--yea she's green. i mean cmon we have enough red and no green and everybody knows science is green. anyway this is another one of my favs. vapor clouds and bubbles what's not to love

i do love the embroidery in the show, especially how, yk, much there is of it, and how identifiable it makes it, but on the other hand the books only ever mention the cuffs and hems so i like to think i struck a nice balance

Grishaverse knitting projects update:

On the one hand, terrible news, I made a major mistake in the six of crows blanket - like so bad that I actually have to undo everything I’ve done so far and restart. I’m really annoyed about this but luckily I’m not too far in and hopefully it will now be far more successful

On the other hand, more fun news, the Kefta I’m knitting (did I tell you guys about that? I can’t remember lol, but yeah I’m knitting a Kefta/kefta-inspired cardigan) is going wonderfully so I just need to make the sleeves and then begin the absolutely terrifying task of the embroidery. I am not good at embroidery; I’m very scared - but very excited too!

Ready for MagicCon ! (Kuwei Kefta DONE)

My custom Kuwei Kefta is finallllly finished ! After 2 months of embroidery, about 1100m of thread used and many attempts to get the lining and so many other things somewhat right. I am very happy with how it turned out and I'll wear it this weekend (29.10. - 1.11.23) for MagicCon where I once again paid a for my ungodly amount of money just to get some more pics with the cast.

This time I'll not just have pics with Kit but also Freddy and Paddy.

Needsles to say this project was the major reason I haven't made much fanart recently amongst other projects needing my attention too. I will for sure post some art soon (I hope q-q, I do miss drawing Jes and Wy so much)

Season two

I didn’t want to write this I really didn’t but I am beyond disappointed at season two. I have nothing against Six of Crows however I watched for Shadow and Bone. Alina’s character arc was ruined, the Darkling was discredited and Mal was glorified. Don’t get me started on how there was more screen time for the crows in a show that wasn’t even theirs.

The plot was completely abandoned and ruined from the S&B books. The relationship between Alina and the Darkling were complicated and intricate, with deep and personal battles. The show got rid of all dimension in favour of Mal, which in the books was good for nothing.

Season two of Shadow and Bone was written for the spin off which isn’t deserved.

I don’t care if they cancel, but I will not be watching season three and will forget season two ever happened.

I'm reading Rule of Wolves and I felt like drawing how I imagine Genya, I don't really like her red and blue kefta so I wanted to redesign it. I think the golden embroidery is a lot more elegant, and the purple in the borders is a nod to how she's somewhere in between Corporalki and Materialki.

Also I think most interpretations I see of her don't make scars enough on her face imo. Like people were calling her ruined she's supposed to have a face COVERED in scars.
