The thing I hate about zhongchi is like - especially since I have to see them together all the time - and I know this is just trauma from reading too many fanworks - is that he's powerful enough so that he could rape Childe, and there's nothing he can do about it. And this isn't just about canonical power, but with how he's the head archon of Liyue and Genshin and how he's a guest and an outsider and a villain.
But this is just the relation of most women to powerful men.
And I can't imagine being Arlecchino and looking at him and knowing that the only thing that separates her from his fate is her gender.
And this is why I gave her to him - so that it was possible for me to see her as being female in relation to him. And this ability to be seen as a female with respect to a male is what she owes him, and why she needs him.

what’s a ship you hate that most people like?
Most of the most popular ships for my Genshin blorbos tbh.
Zhongchi: There's no way this would work without an arc to fix Childe or make Zhongli worse, but everyone seems to act like they would get along easily.
Kavetham: I ship them but only as divorced and never ever getting back together, which is not how most people are doing it. And there’s annoyingly little Kaveh appreciation and fic that isn’t about that ship.
Cynonari: Tighnari is aroace to me and romantic/sexual content with them squicks me out. I love them as besties/qpps though.
Beigguang: I acknowledge the hints toward it, but I'm pretty meh towards Ninnguang, and the ship has a lot of annoying anti m/f cops who have done the opposite of encouraging me to give it a chance.
Thomato: I can't help but feel like the only reason this ship is popular is because Two Tall Men. Ayaka's relationship with Thoma undeniably got better treatment in terms of canon writing/screentime.

shikaneji or zhongchi for the ship ask if you don’t mind !
shikaneji since i don’t really ship zhongchi 😁
what i like shikaneji is that they balance each other out nicely. like neji is the well put together man who doesn’t have a speck of dust on his clothes. his hair long and pretty and he’s always so elegant. but shikamaru, although he can be elegant when he has to, he honestly doesn’t care all that much about etiquette. i think shikamaru would help neji loosen up a bit and just enjoy life.
in an au where neji lives and he’s stressing out about clan matters, shikamaru just steals the young hyuuga and takes him to a hill top to just cloud watch. a pass time that neji slowly appreciates and looks forward to.
i think that neji also helps bring out shikamaru’s social life. like the nara heir isn’t anti social or a loner but he prefers to be on his own because people are annoying. he’ll be with his friends once a weak when his social battery is filled up before he hides under the trees to recharge. neji would take him out on dates but knows and understands that shikamaru doesn’t want to go out every time and sometimes having an indoor date is better. and neji respects that.
idk, i just really like their dynamics and i have like they have so much potential but they’re so underrated 😔

I first entered Hetalia fandom since 2008 and after my absence since 2018 I came back to the fandom again in 2021. My interested are about 60% Historical/cultural/political Hetalia and 40% whatever cool Hetalia.

I don't know why you're so surprised about the lack of variety outside of fluff in the Genshin fandom, the fandom that is so full of antis that Amber/Collei is considered problematic because when they meet, Amber was a teen and Collei a kid, nevermind they didn't see each other again for a long time, their age difference was 'problematic' at some point. Like of course there's a lack of dark fics in the fandom, this fandom is a nightmare.
The thing is if you look at Childe tag, it's full of him getting sexually assaulted, forced impregnation, forced feminization, kidnapped, tortured, god knows what else. Like Neuvillette breathe the same air with Childe for one scene and I saw like 5 fanfic about Childe getting impregnated by Neuvillette popping out of nowhere. Same thing if you go to Top Zhongli and Bottom Childe tag
Like there's so many daddy dom two dragon penis Zhongli impregnated mindbreak babygirl Childe fanfic out there. So even tho I know this fandom is full of overly hysterical people, I thought "yeah sure at least it is big enough to allow diverse stories from G rating to R rated"
Childe always get tortured for some reason
I'm a Tartali enjoyer so I always hunt for a story that whump Zhongli, but on the Zhongchi side it's Childe who get whumped, different dynamic and all
So I have been waiting and hanging out in Wriolette tag in AO3, looking the number going up, leaving kudos, just enjoying myself.
Then I got confused when it's only one overall genre (fluff) that overwhelmingly flooded the tag.
At the same time maybe Wriolette is still new so the ship is still in development, maybe give it some time we will see more diverse theme from G to Dead Dove. I mean Haikaveh/Kavetham premise is very tame "Oh my god they were roomates" but at the end of the day I finally saw a story where Alhaitham is Deshret reincarnation and Kaveh got brainwashed to believe that he is the goddess of flower reincarnation then they forced to marry yada yada
(I also saw a hucow lactating Alhaitham fanfic and that was hot lol)
I just hope that the fandom doesn't naturally developed this toxic mentality that insist Wriolette must only be depicted with a healthy relationship, leaving no room for creativity (like a certain ship from star wars)

When you realise all the popular pairing in Genshin are problematic in their own way:
1. Kaeluc/Luckae
On one side, their dynamic is hella good. On another side, well, did they grew up as brother or as very close childhood friend? I kept opening twtter just to see antis and pros fight over this. Very entertaining.
2. Zhongchi/Chili/Tartali
For real, one is an over 6000 yrs old dragon god, the other is 20 yrs old-ish murder harbinger. The age differemce lol... But really, isn't this technically cradle-robbing (whatever the actual words for it)? Not that I mind, but somehow this get less problem? I mean, everyone alive today were probably children/baby in Zhongli's eyes. Yes, even Venti....
3. AnyonexTraveller
Right, the first part that I recently knew is, some people actually dislike Chilumi because they think Lumine is underage? Right, regardless of either Lumine is actually underage or not, their physical age difference isn't that great. Probably 3-5 yrs physical age difference. And that actually a problem? I could've sworn irl people married with even larger age-gap.
With the recent reveal that travellers were at least >500 yrs old, doesn't this mean they are craddle-robbing the entire Teyvat? (LOL). Almost none of the current characters are legal for them, except for the Archons and Adepti.
Well, that's pretty much the only problematic ship I know. I will add more later, or maybe some will give me suggestion.
Ps: I don't particularly care about pairing or romance. As long as the story and arts are good, I can enjoy it. This post was made just to vent what I think, no offense meant to those antis and pros.

the thread about how zhongchi is racist? people twisting lumine's english va's words so that it fits their hcs? the post about how kaeya and childe are minor coded? absolutely hilarious, why would I want to miss out on that

i mean, yes. this is basic human decency (blocking people and not harassing them). the internet has always been pretty reactionary to things they don’t like and is pretty toxic as a whole. idc if you dont like something, death threats are never a viable solution. but imma be honest, i’ve never seen that happen when it comes to that ship and therefore i have no time nor energy to devote to yelling at people for it. not my place.
