Why do people forget that Tyler took Wednesday on that "romantic" horror film date in the crypt to distract her while Thornhill ransacked her room and stabbed Thing.
Everything he did was to manipulate her into a false sense of safety so their outcast hating bigot asses could complete their plan.
Tyler was shown to hate outcasts before Thornhill even entered the picture. The nice guy act was a ruse.
How very romantic.
Merry Christmas.

I personally try to get every ship, even If I ship Wenclair. For instance I get the Wednesday and Xavier ship, but I just can't understand the Wednesday/Tyler shippers. Like the guy tried to kill her friends and lead her away so Thing can be attacked. I don't see Wednesday forgiving that even if he has a tragic backstory.

Tyler, annoyed: I didn't know you fancy Xavier.
Wednesday, staring at Xavier: Of course I don't.
Tyler: Then why are you blushing?
Wednesday: I'm not. It's a rash; I'm allergic to you.

i still have pretty much nothing against xavier besides the fact that his whole deal came completely outta left field, but the fact that every wyler ship post i’ve seen has the most toxic and unhealthy ideas of a relationship. y’all need to take a step back and realize that, even by addams family standards (id even go as far as to say ESPECIALLY by addams standards), tyler is a terrible person and his relationship with wednesday was built around nothing but manipulation, he did not like her, he wanted to kill her because she was an outcast. and you cant even try to use the addams being ok with debbie in addams family values as proof that this would be possible, since the only reason the addams were ok with her is because fester was happy, in the end, they weren’t sad she was dead, they only pitied her for being so out of her mind and wanting to kill fester and the rest of them. so why would morticia and gomez look at this kid who tried to kill their daughter and say they’re just like them? it’s not like it made her happy that he tried to kill her, she wasn’t exactly charmed by that. a couple that hates each other and tries to kill each other is not cute, and the fact that so many of you see “love” and something wholesome in what would literally be an abusive and insanely toxic relationship is actually really concerning.

The signals that Wednesday gave Tyler were microscopic

Someone needs to stop these white men fr. I mean, come on, how can you look at the love corner in Wednesday and tell me either one of them was a good match for her.
You have contestant number one: Tyler who Wednesday had showed literally ZERO interest in and only interacted with in order to get what she wanted. She basically treated him like an uber with the one nice thing she did before being confronted about her "feelings" being fixing the coffee maker just so she could get her coffee. Tyler insisted that Wednesday was giving him signals and that something was going on between them and the only time this girl ever gave him the time of day was when some outside source pushed her towards acting on romantic feelings that truly weren't even there. And sure, Wednesday kissed Tyler but aside from that very moment, she had never even shown an inkling of ever actually liking this man in any capasity.
Then we have contestant number two: Xavier who Wednesday had saved once before when they were young and then was saved by early on in the season. As soon as things started going awry Wednesday immediately suspected him of being the culprit and more often than not Wednesday seemed offended at his very existence. He also seemed to think Wednesday had a thing for him and seemed like she'd rather be buried alive than ask this man on a date even if it was to save her own ass.
Now ENID on the other hand, contestant number three: both of them were basically willing to go to the ends of the earth for each other. Although Wednesday hated her at the start, she quickly warmed up to Enid and what started out as a connection that would get Wednesday what she wanted became one of her deepest relationships (romantic or otherwise). She threatened to fuck up Ajax if he ever hurt Enid, she was willing to wear the snood Enid got her and made up with Thing for the other girl's sake, and Wednesday showed very clear signs of being upset when her and enid fought with the only other time Wednesday was upset being when Thing nearly died. On top of that, she also allowed enid to hug her and even hugged Enid back, something wednesday doesn't even do with her own family

Someone: Tyler deserved better than Wednesday
Me: *spits out my drink* HE MANIPULATED HER
He never liked or cared about her, he was using her! And yeah, she didn't give a shit about him and treated him like a resource for the most part, but she atleast didn't want him to die.
He was gonna hand her over to Thornhill if she went to the train station with him at the start of the season. Like, were we watching the same show people???
The cishets man. I swear.

I think way too much about the fact that Wednesday KNEW Tyler was the hyde before she kissed him.
I SAID WHAT I SAID.
Here’s why.
Once Xavier was taken into custody she could finally focus her stubborn, single-minded, obsessive ass onto other things. Talking to Enid made her realise she forgot to focus on the whole fact that Thing was attacked while she was distracted by TYLER. You can see her face show the moment she realises she hasn’t ruled him out as a key suspect. Then she goes to the Weathervane and Tyler, thinking his ass is safe, reveals his true colors with his bigotry slipping out. “They guy seemed so normal, you know, for an outcast.” Bro come on.
Xavier being taken into custody made her re-evaluate things, like who she could trust. This seemed like it was a declaration of love for Tyler but guess what, she was re-evaluating her damn suspect list. And the kiss confirmed her suspicions.
Tumblr media
The eyebrow raise happened BEFORE Enid said Tylers name. That was her “Oh shit the date was interrupted, while thing was stabbed” moment.
Rewatch the damn scene and tell me I’m wrong. (39:40 onwards Ep 7)
The pieces of the jigsaw she didn't focus on:
Wednesday searched Xaviers art studio numerous times without coming across any of the victims belongings.
She knew Tyler was the only one that overheard her and Eugene’s plans to go visit the cave.
Constant warnings about Tylers disdain of outcasts.
Tyler did not name the very distinctive Gates Mansion when Wednesday showed him the drawing from her vision. (Knowledge townies would definitely have known.) Meanwhile, Xavier identified it for her.
SHE SAID IT HERSELF, SINGLE MINDED, STUBBORN AND OBSESSIVE. As soon as she could stop focusing all her attention on Xavier, she could look at ALL the jigsaw pieces and the ways they could be combined. And her lil werewolf helped her work this out.

not trying to be rude at all, but people who think wednesday would join tyler in a murder spree next season (or at all) or even think she'd consider being a relationship with him at all after the reveal are sounding more delusional then what some people make wenclair shippers out to be because it's a non canon wlw ship. but that's just my opinion

I guess this is technically an Anti Wyler ship post, but about the Addams and their values:
I've seen some people say "Wednesday would date or be ok with Tyler because she herself performed autopsies, tortured her younger brother Pugsley", and other macabre things referenced or depicted in past Addams Family shows, and it strikes me as ironic and worrying that these people are misinterpreting what The Addams Family Show and characters countered in pop culture/society. Just because these characters like the dark, unexpected stuff, doesn't mean they are ok with murder, or that the Addams lack morals. They have them, they just don't follow conventional means or thought processes.
'They're creepy and they're kooky Mysterious and spooky They're all together ooky The Addams family...' 'Neat Sweet Petite...' 'Strange Deranged The Addams family'
Even counting the final verse of the theme song, nothing there says anything about actually being what they appear. Society views them as "Strange" or "Deranged", they may seem "spooky" to visitors (people unused to them), but they aren't as first impressions would imply, as the "Neat, sweet, Petite" line reminds us.
I think a part of this comes from the show also not fully being like the past adaptations where The Addams (despite contrasting conventional societal norms of what we think a "loving" family should look like) at their core were a loving goofy family, and challenged and disproved the conventional nuclear family. These type of people miss the point of who the Addams were, and that they were and are suppose to be the rep for the people labeled "oddballs/freaks" of society. Just because they are different doesn't mean they are pro murdering innocent people, and to say Wednesday would be ok with murder (when even despite that lacking feel of satire towards the conventional from this adaptation of the Addams the show itself has Wednesday working to stop and solve these murders all the while guided by a spirit called Goodie) makes me chuckle in disbelief. I think part of why Enid and Wednesday together drew so many people is that it captures and reminds us of that unconventional love, that quirky love, we got from the past adaptations when we visited the Addams Media, but that is detracting from my "Wednesday Addams is not ok with murder, nor is her family" rant.

I have a small rant and it might be a little long
Wyler shippers are not being attacked. People are pointing out issues and a lot of your responses are to bully the other ships and act like you are the victim. Seriously I have never seen a Wavier shipper flat out harass a Wyler only respond to Wyler shippers, I have never seen a Wenclair shipper just flat out insult those who ship Wyler only point the issues, and I have certainly never seen a Wenclay shippers even mention Wyler.
What I have seen is shippers point out issues with a ship and those who ship said ship act like that is a personal attack rather than just a call for conversation. Also I know not all Wyler shippers play the victim card because I have had a lot of nice and peaceful conversations with Wyler shippers. But the vocal minority is what turns people off of ships. Not every criticism of your ship is an attack on it or you.
Also because I have seen people claim this. No not every issue can be traced back to people not wanting a straight ship. That is a dumb argument that puts everyone into a straw man spot because often times sexuality is not the issue.
This is an extremely long rant that is not an attack on the ship or it's shippers, but just pointing out that no you are not a attacked or oppressed party in any way.
