My Overall CK S5 Review

Okay so!! I’ve had thoughts percolating in my brain since I watched the season over the weekend, and here’s my attempt to combine them into something coherent.

First of all, let me say this, spoiler free: the season is a great experience imo. There were things I didn’t like, but honestly, I enjoyed this season more than s4! Especially the fight scenes, those were incredible. If you didn’t enjoy this season, I totally get why, but after s4, my bar was so low and this season definitely went over it 😂 so I’m happy.

Beyond that…spoilers below the cut, so don’t click if you don’t want those.

So I’m gonna start with the bad and end with the good. The bad:

The Johnny-Miguel-Robby arc. Literally the only parts I liked were the parts without Johnny in them: the Miguel-Robby heartfelt talk, backing each other up in Cobra Kai, etc. But…the stuff with Johnny didn’t land.

Johnny basically told Robby he was only making amends “so he didn’t have to live with regret”…aka he’s making this about himself yet again, not about Robby. And he suggested these two, who have a history of fights gone wrong, fight it out in the apartment complex…and when Johnny lost sight of them, Robby almost fell off a balcony! (As in, Miguel almost kicked him off but then stopped). Like?? Hello?? This is not how you reconcile fighting teen boys!

And then we come to the reason why that happened: BabyGate. I didn’t like this at all. It was so transparently meant to serve as Johnny’s main reason for reconciling Miguel and Robby, which just…again, weird?? Reconciliation should be about them, not about “well we’re having a baby so shape up”!

It also reduces Carmen to a love interest again (a problem ever since s3), and a baby incubator. Like…that’s her whole personality now. What happened to the awesome, take-no-bs nurse who turned Johnny away every time Miguel got hurt?? The one who sees Johnny’s bad habits, the one who ran away from her previous husband because of a bad feeling…now she suddenly wants a kid with Johnny?? After how Johnny has treated Robby, how he’s treated Miguel?? I think the only understandable reaction is Anoush’s sarcastic “congrats on procreating.”

Beyond that, Kenny was sent further down the CK corruption path, as I feared…the toilet scene was so disturbing. Like honestly, wtf?? Not much more to say about that, but…yeah I found that whole thing distasteful.

The Mexico arc was pointless and added nothing, but I can’t really be mad because that’s a holdover from s4 so 🤷‍♀️ honestly they wrapped that up the best they could, it wasn’t gonna be any better (it could’ve been a lot worse tbh).

The Sam & Tory reconciliation…ehh? I mean it wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t great. Tory hasn’t apologized for the school fight or for the home invasion, and until then, a friendship between them doesn’t feel super strong and lasting. I was glad to see them friends, but they really need to talk things out, and Tory needs to apologize for traumatizing Sam twice. That needs to happen next season or be alluded to (time passes between seasons sometimes, so I can believe it happened if the show suggests it).

If you’d asked me yesterday, I’d put the Daniel vs Silver fight here too, but…honestly I’m kinda on the fence about it? I watched it again, and I see what other people on here mean when they say Daniel was using defense against Silver, twisting his method against him. Like that was cool, I’ll admit. But I think him doing kata, beating Silver like he beat Barnes (thus showing that Silver still underestimates him, because Daniel never needed him) would’ve been a lot better. But…hey, I cheered when Daniel crane-kicked him, I’m only human 🤷‍♀️ so yeah. Mixed feelings.

I skipped most of Kreese’s scenes except the ones with Tory, Daniel, and Johnny, and the therapy scene, and tbh I regret nothing. Glad I did that, I’d do it again.

Now on to the good!

Chozen is an absolute star, I love him. I wish we got more of him, especially him infiltrating CK…I felt like that was cut short too early. Especially with him mentoring Tory!

Amanda’s backstory is fantastic. s4 did a great job with it (surprisingly), and s5 carries that forward. I love her being Jessica’s cousin, I love her being a rebellious teen…I love all of it, honestly!

On that note, I originally put the Amaniel drama in the bad stuff section while watching, but seeing how it ended, with Jessica telling Amanda the truth about KK3…it’s in the good things column. I was crying when Jessica finally told Amanda everything, I’ve dreamed of the day she finally found out! And though I wished it was Daniel going into s5, I’m glad it wasn’t. The way Silver messed with his head this season…I’m glad it was someone who saw it firsthand and could tell Amanda in his stead.

Mike Barnes was a surprisingly great addition?? Didn’t expect that 😂 wish we got more of him, and I never thought I’d say that.

Sam this season was incredible, so was Tory’s arc at CK, so was Robby’s arc of trying to save Tory and Kenny, so were the adults’ arcs (not Johnny’s, as discussed)…and so was the new CK sensei! And…I didn’t know how they were gonna do the tournament placeholder, but they made it work, kudos to them!

So yeah, there are my thoughts! Thought it was great with room for improvement, and I’m cautiously optimistic about s6

Danny-boy: endearment for someone younger. childlike. condescending.

both fond, both reprimanding. it keeps me up at night. daniel had two sensei. got to benefit from both styles and combine them successfully. ☯️

Terry Silver was meant to be the Anti-Miyagi in every way but - aside from one being tall and the other small, or one gleefully, energetically evil and the other stoically, calmly good-- they basically believed in the same things. But from the other side of the coin.

Mr. Silver: Balance is crucial. A man can't stand, he can't fight.

Mr. Miyagi: Balance is key. Balance good, karate good.

Mr. Silver: A man can't breathe, he can't fight.

What mental health issues do you think Terry has? Not to trivialize/make fun of people with actual issues. I’m just curious. So many people say he’s a psychopath. I’ve also heard people say he is Bipolar, a Narcissist. Even has Anti-social Personality Disorder, depression.

Nonnie, I am not a psychiatrist, and as such unqualified to diagnose anyone. I'm a historian.

Now, historians are pretty good at saying: "In these circumstances, people are likely to do X, because that's what they have done the last 20 times this happened."

Terry is part Jewish it seems, going by Cobra Kai, and given his age, his parents will have been through WW II. Which means there is colossal trauma there, especially for the Jewish parent. Given his last name, Silver, a likely anglicised version of "Silber" which you can find in many traditionally Jewish surnames, his father is the most likely candidate.

Terry's family is wealthy, yet Terry served in Vietnam. That is weird. Especially since he would have likely been headed to college and exempt from the draft. Why then did he enlist? When his father is Jewish and lived through WWII, and he did not flee Hitler (probably not because 1938-1968 is often too short a time to establish the connections you need to build not only a business but the kind of business empire that would be hung up on legacy, another one of Terry's fixations) then it's likely that his father served in the US Army. And where? Well, Terry is obsessed with Asia, not Europe, and hates the Japanese enough to be very crudely racist to Mr. Miyagi, so my guess is the Pacific. Dad served in Asia, he'll serve in Asia. Only that his Dad would have been thought a war hero, and he, a 'Nam vet, a morally corrupt loser.

The whole Cobra Kai "No Mercy" schtick could have been not so much a Vietnam thing but a second generation WWII trauma because of a too close encounter with the Japanese imperial Army and their attitude to POW's. No mercy indeed. Yes maybe Terry got it from Captain Turner, but that doesn't negate this theory. Maybe Turner served in the Pacific too. Note that what he teaches is Korean. The Koreans also suffered terribly under the Japanese invasion of their country.

Oh, and to add to generational trauma. If Terry's mother is not Jewish, that would not help because Jewish fathers who lived through WW II very often had issues with that, even when they themselves of course chose to marry gentile women, likely for protection from antisemitism. Notice again that his surname, if Jewish, has likely been anglicised.

Terry's nickname for Daniel, the constantly referenced "Danny boy", hints at Irish-American heritage on his mother's side. Very probably Catholic. And that, too, was not mainstream growing up in the 1950's. So Terry's a double outsider with a likely traumatised father, a desire to prove himself so great he enlisted at the end of a war that was already going badly, a war trauma all of his own with intrusive memories, a fondness for alcohol and drugs, which could be self-medication, he's also likely into boys and, later in life, he feels that he needs to hide behind a façade, again likely because of an intense fear of persecution. I mean he devises his own philosophy on how to, as quickly as possible, incapacitate enemies. "Strike first", if fighting is inevitable, right? And it is, in his worldview.

Also he gets off on causing people pain, either himself or by proxy. He wants people to experience fear and pain, maybe in a perverse desire to connect. War vets, be it WWI or later, often talk about an intense disconnect to people who have not been through crippling pain and fear. So if he wants to get close to people, he needs to make sure they can relate to him, yeah? How does he do that? By inflicting pain and fear. On Daniel. On his Cobra Kai 'children'.

And that, I think, is What Is Wrong with Terry Silver.

Honestly, if Johnny Lawrence turns out to be either John’s or Terry’s son, I’ll just be...so over it. Like, over the show, the characters and over everything.😬

Why? Because it is the worst writing choice ever, in my opinion. Not because it is like a soap opera, because it infinitely tangles everything to unnecessary degrees, makes you scratch your head about everyone’s pre-established motivations and it is so out of left field and OOC that it fundamentally feels like a badfic. Also, I absolutely despise ‘Gotcha!’ plotlines. Cliches and tropes will always exist and that is okay, but some generally can and will make your storyline worse. Not that CK is a masterpiece of writing, but anyway...

First of all, I get this feeling it entirely and genuinely waters down and oversimplifies John’s and Johnny’s messed up, toxic, innately complicated, co-dependent, gaslighting mentor and student relationship that spans decades, ever since Johnny’s early childhood (not to mention it waters down the idea of falling into the clutches of toxic authority figures, which is a running theme), down to them being biologically related all along. Of course! Suspension of disbelief and coincidence of all coincidences. It is all bio-determinism. People just simply cannot be your teachers and abusers unless they’re your long lost dad and if they are your teachers and abusers, they must’ve been related to you all along and there’s no other variables, kids.

If it is Terry, not only does it not make sense because I think it is immensely out of character that he would never check up on a supposed baby mama again purely because (Who’s right there. At arm’s length, almost. I had this same argument with the Miguel theories.) and subsequently discover or reason he has a full-blown son? Especially in the 80′s? When he’s had all the power and authority in the world to do so? Literally not a thing standing in his way anymore, especially not, say, his parents, for example? The same man who was climbing up chimneys and stalking and acting possessive? The same man who has adopted his deceased friend’s ponytail in a lifelong sense of mourning, usurping, devotion and grief? That same Terry? How? (Was it all the coke...again?)

And if John knew Terry had a son why did he never say anything? In 40+ years?

Did Laura Lawrence make him promise and why?

If she was keen on secrecy, lets say, why did she allow Johnny enrolled in, of all places, Cobra Kai, taught by none other than John Kreese, who’s either the father of her son, or the best friend and the ex-commandering officer of her son’s father, who’s Terry? Wouldn’t the chances of being discovered be far greater that way? Like, if someone wanted to keep a low profile, you’d think this wouldn’t happen or that one would take preventive measures to avoid from it happening? Maybe try with another dojo? Why did Sid never say anything?

If Johnny was John’s son, why did John never say anything either?

Why does nobody say anything to anyone?

Did neither John nor Terry know?

If so, again, that is the mother of all coincidences that John would either accidentally be training his own (or Terry’s son) and that out of all the dojos, in all the Valleys, everywhere, baby Johnny Lawrence just so happened to walk into John Kreese’s.

What about Betsy?

Is Betsy Laura’s sister turned ‘Please raise my baby for me’ red herring before dying?

Did she die at all, though? But then again, if she didn’t die, because maybe Captain Turner lied, and she gave up her baby because of the stigma of raising a child alone to another woman who then had to live with the same stigma with a baby that wasn’t even biologically hers while effectively marrying Sid for money so she can raise said child in the first place and?? Also, if Betsy didn’t die, you’d think John would discover that too, eventually. Like, at least visit a grave somewhere, post-war? Wouldn’t he want to visit her grave? The grave of the person he loved? What am I even saying at this point? One would need five seasons more just untangling this.

Why does everyone need to be related to everybody?

Is this even about Karate anymore?

there’s a lot of things that you haven’t revealed about yourself to your friends... like the fact that you’re an eldritch being, or the fact that your humanity switch had been flipped for an entire day after you’d had a particularly nasty run-in with a horde of cobra kai students - excluding robby, thank fucking void - a few days ago. that’d been a 5v1, & some part of you just decided you were slightly done with pretending to be weak, at least for that singular, isolated interaction in particular. there hadn’t been a punch thrown, no kick blocked, just general taunts & sneers from kyler & his band of clowns. after they’d left, you flipped your emotions back on, & that had been hell, even if they’d only been suppressed for a total of six minutes... almost that entire solo interaction. your depressive episodes have been rapidly pendulum-swinging violently between making you feel too much & not enough since then. right now, you’re glad your emotions are off, because if you had to look at robby when he’s like this, a member of cobra kai despite ( because? ) of everything, you would have lost your fucking mind.

but that emptiness you’re feeling is better than feeling too much. it’s better than anger, better than sadness, better than guilt ( YOU SHOULD HAVE TRIED HARDER TO STOP EVERY BAD THING FROM HAPPENING, ETHAN ! YOU’RE A FUCKING FAILURE ! ), better than the bone-deep, choking grief of losing your first love to monsters in the form of deranged, war-starving men. …it’s a little funny. you - the kidpool version of you - have killed people like that before, people who are so much worse than terry silver & john kreese, without so much as hesitating, or deliberating on the morality of anti-heroes. …or what your mom would say if she saw kidpool you surrounded, shoulder-deep, by corpses that were once clearly identifiable as human, ripped apart by stitched-together atoms in the form a little blond boy, small hands stained with enough wet grey matter for it to drip between your fingers. why you can’t raise a hand against your enemies in this universe is unknown, but that divine intervention is probably for the best of everyone around you.

you suppose your emotions being off again - dead & buried - is why you’re entertaining kyler & his stupid fucking antics, complete with the same gaggle of idiots. they’re back for round two. the only thing that’s different is that @vipersunion , scarlett & jaime are with them this time. why, you don’t know, nor do you really want to start chatting with them. that’s fine. you & talia are friends despite the karate war, & even though jaime is robby’s twin, you don’t really know her that well. same with scarlett. all you know is that scarlett is best friends with tory & that other girl, cosima. you’ve pretty much ignored the four of them, who are both standing off to the side with ciro while kyler recycles the same old taunts you’ve heard a thousand times.

it’s technically nine versus one; hardly fair odds given your inexperience in karate. but you’re not really counting on ciro & talia fighting you. jaime is a wildcard, but you already know that ciro’s going to stop her from fighting you if it comes down to it. it’s just kyler & four others taunting you.

you’re just standing in the middle of sam’s neighborhood, surrounded by cobra kai members who’d ran into you randomly. you’d walked from your apartment to the larusso house to clear your head, had dinner & hung out with sam, then started walking back to your apartment. they’d walked up to you. calling for back up is a little impossible right now.

you’re staring blankly at kyler & his four friends, your stance far too casual. the blank look on your face & the way you’re standing is not like you at all. it makes ciro slightly unnerved. as a result, he’s half-standing in front of talia & jaime, a warning to them ( & not to you ) is clear in his stance. ❝ don’t do anything, ❞ his body language screams. it’s not because he thinks they’re weak, but you’re the outlying factor here. you’re something he can’t predict, despite the literal millions of years of friendship between you. he doesn’t know what the fuck is going on with you lately, but the fact that it’s visibly unnerving him should be an indication to the two girls that you’re not… you, right now. ciro’s protection doesn’t extend to the other cobra kai members, which of course you’ve noticed.

GOOD. maybe you’ll get to blow off a little steam, witnesses be damned. you’ve been angry at the universe - at kreese & silver for manipulating robby - for far too long.

eventually, kyler gets annoyed at that fact that you’re not reacting to his taunts, & you simply roll your shoulders when he growls at you. you’re entirely unbothered, & a little bored, whereas kyler is growing increasingly aggravated. it’s something you’re counting on.

❝ you done? ❞ your tone is equal parts jarring to the others & robotic. it makes ciro have visceral reaction, goosebumps decorating his skin, physically scowling. he looks visibly unnerved. all of these emotions are unheard of for him. instinctively, he raises both arms up to gently push talia & jaime a step backwards. he’s treating you like a powder keg that’s about to explode, but his wariness isn’t unwarranted. something that you recognize.

you just… don’t fucking care about any of it anymore. the karate war, the crazed senseis, the drama between sam & tory. let robby do what he fucking wants. he’s a big boy, he doesn’t need you to look out for him anymore. he can ruin his own fucking life. you’re done caring.

( that’s what you think now, anyway. )

❝ no, wilson. i’m not. ❞ kyler responds coldly, all snark & no brains to the obvious change in you. you predict the first punch before his brain can tell his body what to do. he swings a punch up at your jaw easily, but you very smoothly react, grabbing his hand in your fist before the punch can connect, squeezing his hand so hard that you hear every single knuckle in his hand pop. it’s an impossibly fast, one that’s pure instinct. surprise flashes across kyler’s face, & the other cobra kai’s faces turn from taunting to surprised, alarmed or fearful. you can sense the fear coming off their entire bodies in waves. kyler is about to pull his hand back, but you hold fast. then, you sharply twist his hand without much force on your end at an awkward angle. the sound of a single but vital bone in his wrist dislocating echoes sharply across the dead empty street, & kyler screams in pain. ciro’s nose scrunches up for a half second. not at the scream, but at the sound of the bone being dislocated.

you drop his hand, then push him backwards, aiming a calculated spinning kick to the side of his head, long before kyler can even defend himself. the kick connects perfectly. kyler’s head snaps to the side, & he stumbles backwards, groaning. big red steps up to fight you next, but you simply punch him in the throat with a fraction of your true strength. the teen collapses onto the ground like a stone into water, gasping horribly for air he can’t get. his entire face goes as red as his hair in a matter of seconds. you didn’t break anything - you merely fractured something, probably important, based on the way he’s wheezing. when the third cobra kai member, alex, rushes forward to fight you, you quickly stop him in his tracks. you grab his arm, another hand reaching across his chest to force him to stop. he does, & you flip him onto his back, barely moving yourself. it’s one fluid motion, so fast that it makes ciro raise an eyebrow.

speaking of ciro, he takes more handfuls of steps backwards, instinctively pushing talia, scarlett & jaime back another step. he hasn’t said anything to you, & neither eldritch makes a move to fight their friend. ciro just quietly watches the fight, which isn’t much of one to begin with. you turn towards kyler & forcefully kick his leg out from under him, watching his knee drop to the ground to break his fall. before he can stand up, you quickly land another spinning kick on the other side of kyler’s head with your right leg. the mortal can’t block or deflect the hit in time, & he crashes to the ground, quickly using his uninjured hand to break his fall. he doesn’t get up again.

the fourth & final student, nick, puts up a smidge more of a fight, but you’re downright terrifying as you block, dodge & counter every hit he tries to throw at you, your miyagi-do training kicking in. a kick is blocked with your leg, a punch deflected with your elbow, causing him to gasp in pain. an attempt to grab you is made, but you side-step out of the way, using your new position to elbow him in the jaw - just to piss him off. he takes a step back to recollect himself, but you reach forward, speed & long limbs always an advantage in a fight like this. you grab the sides of his head before he can react or shake himself out of your grip, yanking his head down while simultaneously bringing your right knee up, kneeing him square in the face. nick collapses into a heap, a hand instinctively covering his nose, which gushes blood. based on the sickening crunch, you broke it. good. you don’t stop there. as nick stumbles back, gasping in pain, you land a single hard kick to his chest. the shorter teen drops to his knees, & you watch him collapse onto his side, clearly in pain.

alex tries to get up again, but a very light, by your standards punch to his torso makes him drop to the ground again. he looks up at you with shock in his eyes, clutching his chest & groaning. he curls up into a ball.

you’re eerily calm as you survey the damage done. you say nothing. only ciro, scarlett, talia & jaime are standing. the teens on the ground are still groaning in pain, clutching their various injuries. big red’s nose is still gushing blood, but your knuckles remain entirely unscathed. kyler tries to stand up, but you kick him once in the back, coldly telling him to stay the fuck away from you & your friends. he groans, weakly cradling his sprained wrist closer to his chest instinctively. his face is twisted in agony. you don’t know if he heard you, but you wouldn’t mind kicking his ass again some time in the future. he’s definitely going to need a hospital, like the others on the ground, but you have no intention to call anyone. he can do that with the good hand he still has.

pathetic.

❝ don’t worry, kyler, ❞ you begin calmly, voice going from dead empty to faux gentle, but you’re unable to hide the disdain you feel for him, the DISAPPOINTMENT for him not putting up more of a fight against you, ❝ you & your buddies will heal in time for the all valley in two months… probably, anyway. but… if you’re up for round fifteen or what-fucking-ever round in the meantime, name your time & place. i’ll be there. oh, & go ahead & tell your friends at cobra kai what i did, too, if you feel like it. but i doubt anyone would believe you. ❞ you add as an afterthought, tone bored.

the tense, shocked silence that falls over the group of teens means nothing to you. you’re not even winded. your heartbeat is steady, & your breathing is normal. it’s like you didn’t just beat up four cobra kai members in record time. as expected, you felt nothing the entire time. you still don’t now.

❝ this isn’t you. ❞ talia breathes. you look up at her, eyes flickering between talia, scarlett, jaime & ciro with complete disinterest. ciro instinctively tenses, but his face is set in a grimace. you shrug you shoulders.

❝ no, it’s not. ❞ you agree with her on that front. your tone remains flat. you push past the four cobra kai members without a second thought or a glance. ciro says nothing, but he’s clearly a little shocked. you raising a hand to harm mortals like this in front of him… it’s terrifying, even if it’s warranted, because kyler started picking on you. although, a thought hits you. your dark brown eyes flicker down towards jaime, holding her gaze unflinchingly. your eyes are startling. there’s nothing there. not an inkling of warmth, or who you were trying to be. the chaotic but good-natured boy is dead. the karate war wounded him, but robby picking cobra kai was the final nail in the coffin for you, it seems like. your eyes are entirely devoid of emotion.

❝ do me a favor, jaime. tell the mighty, untouchable king cobra that if he wants revenge for hospitalizing his new friends, he knows where to fucking find me. ❞ you tell her, the words coated in venom that’s very unlike you. ( the sarcastic bite, however, is. ) with that said, you shove both of your hands into the pockets of your sweatshirt, continuing to walk down the sidewalk, leaving the stunned cobra kai members in the street.

The dumb fuck that i am, here's a hybrid au thoughts and headcanons for everybody who may find it interesting.

The ✨ Dragon hybrid! Terry Silver ✨ headcanons.

Like literally in a way imo the man resembles a fucking dragon. Esp after seeing few fictions about the man with a male beloved and a goth male imagine of him lol . Iykyk what I'm talking about then you know. The way everybody describes him rather possessive i really love to think if he was a hybrid he'd be a dragon. This idea has been circling around my brain for a while and I'm not going to let it go that easily lmao ! ( Also kinda inspired by that one episode of Spike and Rarity when it comes to family/dating headcanons belows lmao not going to elaborated at all )

— Thinking about how Silver would be a runt looking at the other dragon hybrids

— being smaller than original dragon hybrids, resembling more of a human to their standard.

— earning the nickname Twig for lacking muscle and power even if hybrid!

— having small wings at start, them either growing after years to somewhat resemble dragon hybrids wings or still staying small. Haha. Teenage sized wings. ( I'd think that of an Andean condor wing span of 10 foot. )

— seeing him missing scales around certain points in his wings that never grew back bc of being plucked by force for money and value by the Vietnam soldiers during the capture scenes.

— having his wings being poked through with enough force to rip the leather/skin of the inner wings and leaving him unable to fly even if they grew enough to support his body weight. ( Imo Most modern dragon hybrids can't fly today unlike in the ancient times. )

— or bc they wanted to torture him or see what he would possible do bc they had never seen or hardly had seen a dragon hybrid within military ranks.

— Also having his wings tied behind his back separately or with his hands. Bending them and/or at least making them sore as fuck.

— Leaving him rather disabled to a dragon hybrids standard if they were broken and healed incorrectly or being bend too much due to the restrains and now it's painful enough for him not to use them ( I'd think the wings are one of the most important things to dragon hybrids. Also while the wings are sturdy the bones are still hollow and snap easy if enough force should be applied )

— not to forget the horns, he would most likely be missing ones both or half of one. I'd see them being bone white or possibly some kind of dark color.

— The horns would absolutely be bejewelled in some way or form and seem so fucking glamorous that it would make anybody jealouse !

— also medical Headcanon that the skin of his wings and horns is sensitive and easily itching. He has a special balm to relieve it.

+ I actually think he would look a little more youthful than he is in the actual show since dragon hybrids age few years differently.

— uhh his tail is pretty much the size it should be. Most likely ranging from pretty whites to darker color.

— He also has spines lining his back and most likely his forearms as well not to forget the scales that break through the skin in random patches very lightly.

Brief family/dating headcanons ( he him used to refer to the beloved ) tw. Slightly suggestive hint?

— spoiling absolutely spoiling with love and money. I'd think part of his love language is gifting and spoiling. May as well be some kind of service to the beloved.

— Terry doesn't mind a slight age gap between him and his beloved if it's consider in a romantic sense.

— so much adoring the beloved, and making it very known to him.

— just hugs and cuddles with him possessively wrapping his wings around the beloved so if he escapes his arms he can't actually leave the hug completely.

— Thinking about how he'd keep the beloved as long as possible with him when it comes to sleeping or laying in bed in general at lazy days where he doesn't have to be anywhere. If he has to be somewhere he stays as long as he can just hugging the beloved in the bed and leaving after then.

— the man would absolutely be warm but have cool skin to the touch over the scale patches or scales in general.

— if he's cool enough with the beloved he may just ask him to help with applying the balm on his wings and even to his horns.

— generally sensitive horns, spines and wings btw, touch them and you'll have him satisfied and get a lil handsy bc it lowkey feels good. But beware he may snatch the beloved hands if he doesn't like it.

— also own headcanon on dragons but dragon hybrids can purr. Do what you will with this information.

— personal Headcanon of him being open to and actually adopting a kid. Doesn't matter if it's a hybrid or human kid lol if talking about hybrid au .

— he'd be absolutely interested in spoiling them and making it known that he loves the kid dearly and that they're safe with him in general.

— if somebody messes with the kid or beloved he'll be doing something about it. even if they wouldn't outright tell him, he'll be more in tune with one's emotions than they realise and be aware of the mood swing. Lightly coaching them to talk about it so he can help.
