Fucking embarrassing all those people of the general public and pro royalists get to walk freely and the anti monarchy protestors got arrested and their placards confiscated.
I don't Believe in Kings tm in general and like democracy and representative governments.
But I'll be damned if I don't read the fuck out of royalty aus like a blue blooded, interbred aristocrat looking for tea in the new Lord of the estate next to mine
I just think that if your work is getting scraped, you should be paid. Not the host website. The actual creator of the work.
If you cover a song and you try to sell that cover, you still have to pay the original songwriter their mechanical royalty. Sure, the publisher will take a cut for doing the administrative work but the writer still gets theirs too.
You can't have it both ways. It can't be art on one side of the transaction and then not be art on the other. You don't get to only use copyright law as protection to benefit corporations, and then turn around and demand it not benefit the artists making the works.
And honestly? Do you really think the AI bubble could withstand needing to actually compensate the artists that've been ripped off and rehashed? I don't.
I check in with the Daily Mail every once in a while to make sure I'm seeing what folk are exposed to, and the top rated comments on this article were all anti-monarchy (except for one pointing out that the had misnamed the Princess of Wales by calling her princess Kate)
The British public are fed up with these parasites.
The way so much of the british public has been trained to treat any criticism of the monarchy as immature, adolescent - that really, if you'd only wrap your fragile little brain around it, you'd see that it's so much more complex than that.
But maybe the problem of having a king is actually that simple. Maybe the reason people sound like teenagers when they say "this is unjust", "there is no reason for it" and "these people are awful" is because yes, actually, this isn't something that requires a more nuanced and mature position than that.
Maybe it is just unfair, and they haven't got a counter-argument so they just call you an idiot child.
"WHAT’S A KING TO A GOD, WHAT’S A GOD TO A NONBELIEVER. He might be a decent bloke, who knows, but having a nation bow before you and accepting it, would imply he’s not. When a person is declared the supreme authority of an entire people by birth and ordained by God, it’s not something to take pride in, rather it’s something to be acutely ashamed of. No country deserves to be called “democratic” nor “civilised” whilst instating a King. Almost every year another country celebrates independence from Britain, from the King, if this doesn’t show why the monarchy is the antithesis of democracy, nothing will. Citizens of a country that sees 14 million living in poverty and thinks nothing of jailing a homeless man for stealing bread out of hunger, that has more food banks than McDonald’s, should not be forced to bow to those that preside over it. Rise up. End the monarchy, before it ends you."
