Are they aware that they've portrayed a character they claim to like as a textbook Karen? Another one wrote a scenario where Sigyn turns Sylvie into a hare and cooks it, which is positively unhinged. For people who claim to love Sigyn they love to portray her as entitled and deranged, especially for the sake of a man who canonically doesn't know she exists. Ok, don’t think that because I hate Lokius or Sylki that I like Logyn. I actually don’t, in fact I am happy that the MCU hasn’t introduced Sigyn. To me, I don’t like Logyn because she is either put into a fanfic as a Mary-Sue self insert who can “fix Loki” or do something like what Marvel comics made her an abused wife who was tricked into marrying Loki just to show how evil Loki is. I don’t even really know if Sigyn holding that bowl over Loki’s head was an act of loyalty or was her being punished just because she is Loki’s wife because in many of these myths the whole family is punished for the act of one person, remember the chains holding down Loki are the intestines of one of his sons, I could see Asgard thinking that his wife deserves to be punished too. So if you are looking for pro Logyn content you probably shouldn’t look to someone who has them being a Lokane fan in their Tumblr title.

I actually didn't even bother watching the second season of Loki because of the cheap marketing and inconsistent storytelling.

It just felt like the plot was lifted off somewhere it would have made sense, and a character with a similar ego was replaced with Loki and goes through an arc that might have made sense for a blank slate character, but not someone who already has a backstory.

Loki doesn't even feel like Loki after three episodes in S1. The whole point of having a show like that just seems to be about the TVA and Sylvie.

Also the whole genderfluid thing. They 'confirmed' it in the promo and had a line in the script that went completely against anything they just said.

I knew at once that the writers, directors and other parts of production were really just pulling it in different directions and it would probably sound like a jazz trumpeter and a metal guitarist trying to improvise after knowing each other for 15 minutes.

I've been meaning to watch it just so I can have educated opinions on all of it but it's just,, so hard to get into. I definitely agree the marketing was cheap, they did with the 80s McDonald's like they did DB Cooper!Loki and made it centric to the advertising because McDonalds was also getting something out of it which is kinda ass seeing as realistically Loki Laufeyson would burn 6 of them down before he ate in one 😭

I personally don't like either of the major ships in the show but the forced Sylki shit in season 1 really got to me. Like not only did she completely replace him as the main character in HIS show, she's also a variant of him who he wants to make out with and overall it just reads as lazy writing and it's extremely disappointing that Mike Waldron has been put in charge of Multiverse of Madness and The Kang Dynasty since, due to the popularity of the Loki TV show. I was talking to my boyfriend about this last night but it kinda reminds me of the complaints people had ab the last Indiana Jones movie but opposite? Like everyone complained his best friend's daughter was gonna replace him bc she's a Mary Sue and she rlly isnt, she's more reminiscent of Marion in Raiders of the Lost Ark she just doesn't wanna fuck him. But the difference is Indy is a character who's majorly blank for little boys to project themselves onto. Which is great!! It works for those kind of movies, but they're not character development centric like the individual mcu movies tend to be. Loki is characterized in a way that he's drowning in identity issues and family problems and he experiences growth in every installment whether it be positive or negative. It doesn't make sense to take the formula of an Indidna Jones movie where he meets up with a woman who's typically a love interest and has her own issues that are only slightly touched on because that's not the focus, and they go do the plot.

Sylvie is not an Indy Girl, they straight up are trying to replace Loki with Sylvie. And you can tell the character wasn't supposed to have as much importance as she does in the show bc the character was worked on more after the actress they chose was buddies with a producer ( and this is no hate to the actress I'm sure she's delightful everything I've seen her in in terms of interviews has been lovely ).

I also absolutely agree they should've just made a tva mini series to introduce the tva rather than bringing back a dead character who soon will not make much sense anyway because Tom Hiddleston is getting older (and also he deserves to branch out in his career).

The genderfluid thing was a cash grab and it sucks ass, they just want money for acknowledging things already canon in the comics, same with confirming him as bisexual.

Everytime I see someone say that she should be brought into the MCU (or the comics), I roll my eyes. In the comics, she’s just a prop to show how cruel Loki is because early depictions wanted him to be evil incarnate. And stop bringing Norse mythology into the Marvel versions about how they did love each other at some point due to her holding the bowl to protect Loki’s face until Ragnarok, blah blah. MCU is the MCU, Marvel comics are Marvel comics, and the myths are the myths, and y’all keep moving the goalposts with what you pick and chose from the various different media depictions. It’s perfectly fine if you included Sigyn for your fanfic or AU, but acting like it should be cannon because you cherry-picked the myths, and trash-talking an established MCU female character (Sylvie) is obnoxious. And how the fuck do you all expect everyone to be on the same page with you?

I don’t want her back in the comics unless there is some MAJOR rewriting of the relationship between her and Loki. The comics constantly retcon events to make characters either worse or more sympathetic. And I think a lot of the heroes have likely done something horribly shitty at some point but get it retconned or added. So why can’t they retcon her existance? Her story is not helpful or empowering to women. As a woman, I don’t want to see that.

And if anything, it promotes the “depraved effeminate man is especially dangerous to women” trope. That pisses me off because I have never been harrassed or in any way hurt by queer men. Cishet gender-conforming men, on the other hand… It pisses me off when a demographic that is not the typical offender gets overrepresented as such in media (*cough* Buffalo Bill). Like how “nazi” was added as a pejorative to feminist with the “feminazi” term.

I see these weird Marvel Sigyn stans acting like she is a real person and Loki “must be held accountable.” They’re not real. They’re drawings. CHILL. Use that energy to condemn real abusers (I better not learn any of you sided with Depp).

And I find it annoying how you all act like being loyal to your abusive husband is a sign of sainthood. What makes you think that MCU Sigyn is going to be an interesting and well written character character? What makes you think that the MCU wouldn’t turn her into a meek abused wife in order to show how evil Loki is or some Sylvi clone who is vile to Loki who totally deserves it for reasons? I feel like Sigyn would be one of those characters that wouldn’t make anyone happy in the MCU because she wouldn’t live up to the standards people have for her.

I feel like talking shit about Marvel Sigyn stans. I don't understand anti-logyn. I mean I totally get it if people aren't interested in Sigyn as a character or figure. But I don't understand the dislike of the ship. If I write a fanfic or make fan art of a MCU version Gwen Stacy is it self-insert because I'm making her the way I think is cool and want to see her?

I see people claim the Angrboda is so much better, and the she has a personality unlike Sigyn. What!? The only thing known about Angrboda is that she was scary, that's it. That's not a personality, there's just as little info on Angrboda as there is on Sigyn. And the claim that logyn shippers are anti-angrboda. I've never seen that, at worst Sigyn fans are a little salty Angrboda gets respected in adaptation and Sigyn never does, but the sentiment is never that Angrboda is a bad character herself. If anything it's the other way around. Sigyn is always put down in favor of Angrboda.

Maybe you ship Loki with someone else. Maybe you don't want Loki shipped with anyone. Or maybe you're just put off by the over enthusiasm. But to hate such a small fraction of the fandom because they want a rewrite a concept they feel was poorly done is so unnecessary. We know Loki was a crappy husband in Marvel, but that doesn't make Sigyn irredeemable as a concept.

People adore Hades and Persephone as a concept. A relationship that could only be considered good in comparison to the rest of Greek mythology. But people romanticize the hell out of it regardless. The modernize, they give Persephone agency and she really has none in the original myth.

There will always be people that ship Gwen and Peter over MJ even though In the canon it will always end with Peter and MJ. That's fine that's their business if they like Gwen more. Let fans have their thing.

Loki is so severely allergic to cats that being near loose cat fur makes him sneeze violently. This makes being near Freyja very difficult when he doesn’t take an anti-allergy potion Sigyn makes for him.
