I'm bored, so let's share some headcanons.
Mcu characters' favorite animated movie, because why not.
I'll start:
Loki - Lilo and Stitch (because Ohana + I think he would relate to the main characters)
Thor - Frozen (I think he would kinn Anna, so to him it would be a universe in which he and people he loves have a happy ending)
What are yours?

OMG THIS!!!💜
Speaking about myths, I wanna point out something:
In greek mythology, Hades kidnaps Persephone and she quite literally tries to escape, he tricks her into eating/forces her to eat (depends on the version) a fruit to make sure she could never really leave underground ot him.
People: this is love, they are power couple. She wanted to marry him to escape her overprotective mother.
In norse mythology, Loki tricks Sigyn into marrying her (even tho his motivation for it kinda depends on the version too), he reveals the truth right after the marriage, and Sigyn is given an opportunity to divorce him on sight, the gods wouldn't judge her, they were all for her breaking things up right then and there, and she says: "no, this is my husband now, I'm totally fine with that", no further evidence of abuse/cheating in this relationship (it was never stated that Angrboda was Loki's mistress, they pretty much could be together before the marriage with Sigyn)(also, having ONE argument in one of the myths is not really an evidence of abuse if you ask me, I could be wrong tho), and she CHOOSES to be with him during his punishment.
People: she was so abused into loving him. He also totally cheated on her.

I'm so tired of constantly seeing Disney/Marvel pushing pro-S*lki bullshit it's fucking despicable.
Like seriously, can you imagine if the genders were reversed and S*lki was instead about a female character fawning over a male character who is constantly insulting her and telling her to shut up? Everyone would be up in arms about how abusive it was and how it was setting a bad example for young girls (and rightfully so). But because it's a female character doing this to a man, suddenly that's ok??? Sylvie is literally never held accountable for anything she does. It doesn't matter how selfish she acts or how badly she treats other people; the narrative always frames her as this pinnacle of perfection who can do no wrong purely because she's a woman. Nothing is ever her fault because she "had a rough past" so apparently that gives her a free pass to be as despicable as humanly possible and everyone will still love her no matter what. Meanwhile Loki treats her and Mobius with respect and kindness even though they have been nothing but awful to him and yet HE'S the one constantly framed as the "evil narcissist." Fucking disgusting.

Everything I'm hearing about Loki Season 2 is just highlighting what the major miss is that Marvel's committed with this character. Even the positive reviews can only talk about the extension of the multi-verse and the TVA and the action, blah, blah, blah. But what's always made Loki such a dynamic and interesting character is his own, internal and personal struggle. He's a character driven character, and so any stories featuring him should, by and large, be character driven. And that's the problem. Other than making Loki into a fucking ass-hat clown who gets beat at every turn by total nobodies, calling into question his intellectual capacity, the issue is that this show has never focused on Loki as a character. He ended up not only playing second fiddle to Sylvie in season 1, essentially reduced to a superfluous presence in his own show, but none of the elements of Loki's story that are so intriguing and just begging to be explored got any acknowledgment at all. The reality of his internalized racism, his sense of alienation and separation from his brother and father, his desperation to win Odin's love, and thus desperation to live up to Thor's existence, and how that was always the driving force behind all of his villainous actions, etc... None of that has ever, ever been addressed outside of the first Thor film and just a little bit in the second Thor film. You would think a show ABOUT Loki would find the room and time to actually delve into these topics. But nope. Instead they focus on a bunch of BS about the multi-verse, which they've already based multiple films on and which nobody cares about at all. This show isn't about Loki. It's called Loki. But all it really is is a set up for Avengers 5, or whatever fucking number they're on. Ugh. Whatever.

I was watching Avengers the other day and noticed something I haven't ever joined the dots on before.
In this shot of Barton just before he shoots the arrow at the helicarrier, he's pale, sweating, and has dark circles under his eyes. I can only assume this is due to having been under the influence of the sceptre for the last few days.

And then there's this more familiar shot of Loki having just come through the tesseract's portal...
Tumblr media
...pale, sweating, and with dark circles under his eyes.
Barton still has those bright blue eyes that indicate he's under the direct influence of the sceptre, and Loki doesn't.
So what I'm concluding from this is that Loki was recently under the direct influence of the sceptre just before he was sent to earth.
This direct control was removed before he was sent, but he remains under the more indirect influence that the sceptre has on people nearby (e.g. the Avengers on the helicarrier). We see his physical health improve the longer he's on earth, which would work with this theory, and this is the same as how Barton recovers after the influence is removed.
I'd never subscribed to the theory that Loki was under the direct control of the sceptre at any point during Avengers, but this makes me think it's very likely he was being directly controlled by it for a period of time shortly before he was sent to earth.
Maybe this was some form of conditioning? Maybe it's easier for the sceptre to influence someone indirectly after they've been directly connected with it? I don't know. Possibly these effects were due to something else, but since Endgame we know it's not travel by tesseract that causes this. Although there's a possibility whatever the SHIELD scientists did on this end of the portal could have had some effect. But it's just too similar a set of symptoms to be unrelated.
I curse it again that we were never given more of Loki's story with Thanos in the series or the Avengers films!!!
