love when men cry about body hair bc "it's hygiene" and yet 15% of cis men leave the bathroom without washing their hands at all and an additional 35% only just wet their hands without using soap. that is nearly half of all men. that means statistically you have probably shaken hands with or been in direct contact with one of these people.
love when men say that women "only want money" when it turns out that even in equal-earning homes, women are actually adding caregiver burdens and housework from previous years, whereas men have been expanding leisure time and hobbies. in equal-earning households, men spend an average of 3.5 hours extra in leisure time per week, which is 182 hours per year - a little over a week of paid vacation time that the other partner does not receive. kinda sounds like he wants her money.
love that men have decided women are frail and weak and annoying when we scream in surprise but it turns out it's actually women who are more reliable in an emergency because men need to be convinced to actually take action and respond to the threat. like, actually, for-real: men experience such a strong sense of pride about their pre-supposed abilities that it gets them and their families killed. they are so used to dismissing women that it literally kills them.
love it. told my father this and he said there's lies, damned lies, and statistics. a year ago i tried to get him to evacuate the house during a flash flood. he ignored me and got injured. he has told me, laughing, that he never washes his hands. he has said in the last week that women are just happier when we're cooking or cleaning.
maybe i'm overly nostalgic. but it didn't used to feel so fucking bleak. it used to feel like at least a little shameful to consider women to be sheep. it just feels like the earth is round and we are still having conversations about it being flat - except these conversations are about the most obvious forms of patriarchy. like, we know about this stuff. we've known since well before the 50's.
recently andrew tate tried to justify cheating on his partner as being the "male prerogative." i don't know what the prerogative for the rest of us would be. just sitting at home, watching the slow erosion of our humanity.

(If this doesn't post anonymously then you can just screenshot and black out my name please) You know how tubbo told that bunny worker that he was pregnant? Well I've been thinking about the angst potential.
Like what if tubbo started to miscarry while richas was killing him? What then? No one but sunny foolish and that bunny worker knew he was pregnant in the first place. He never told anyone else. Sunny just facing the wall hands over her ears while phil is making jokes about tubbo's death. All she can think about is how she lost not only her pa, but her baby sibling as well that day.
Do you think that bunny worker reported to the federation about tubbo's pregnancy? How he was asking for child support money? Do you think that's the reason cucurucho was showing up to events? To check up on tubbo? Was that why fred was supposed to be at the valentines day event? Did the feds plan to have her relocated so he could keep an eye on tubbo and the baby? (They DO NOT want to pay that guy child support) Do you think fred, hearing wispers of tubbos death decided to just leave. And once she was sure she was out of ear shot do you think she just burst into tears. Do you think that's the reason cucurucho kept bursting out laughing during the movie? Because he was in such disbelief over tubbo's death?
Listen I'm crazy IM SO CRAZY OVER THIS
this ask has been in my inbox for a whole week and im genuinely fucking obsessed with it. im staring at you with so much amazement and love in my eyes tbh
i need to live in a world where this au is canon tbh because im so invested and interested in all the impies (implications said in a cute way)
like im obsessed w the fact that this implies a fed x tubbo polycule. which is a wholeass Thing ive been thinking about since forever. and also cucu and fred and the bunny assumedly all caring abt tubbos wellbeing and all loving him and not being incredibly jealous at all. all being happy with sharing him if it means he's happy. and then the upset over the obvious. his death and miscarriage.
anon do you know i love you. do you know the impact you have on my life

Welcome to my little meta analysis essay called
Why do we misremember Flower Husbands as being “nicer” than it was?
Disclaimer: I’m not here to talk about whether or not FH is “toxic” or anything like that. It’s just a fact that many old fans rewatching FH POV and new fans who are watching it for the first time after seeing fan content tend to be surprised at how they actually behaved in the series compared to how everyone remembered them being back in the day. This will NOT go over whether or not I think FH is unhealthy or whatever and instead just discuss why I believe this phenomenon has happened.
So, if I try to make this a fancy well written essay, I’ll be here all day, so I’ll just get to the point. 3rd Life came out during the DSMP era of mcyt. MCRP has been around for ages, but the DSMP style of RP (which I’ll be calling “smp rp”) was pretty much popularized by DSMP, mostly towards the end of 2020. For reference, 3rd Life started early 2021, so there’s about a half a year between these two events, and DSMP kept going for years so 3rd Life was absolutely happening during the golden era of DSMP.
But what does DSMP have to do with this? Well, it sort of created this idea of “lore” and only specific things being “canon”. You can make fun of me for the way I worded that, but you know what I mean, DSMP was weird about that stuff. I don’t really blame them as it was kind of a new style of RP they accidentally spawned, but still, it was a confusing time for SMPs.
3rd Life was actually less like DSMP and more like the modern SMP RPs, where there’s no (known, lol) scripted events and the fandom itself deciphers what is or isn’t “canon” rather than it being told to them, with mostly everything being considered canon. HOWEVER, I do believe that DSMP’s style did still affect the fandom, specifically with the topic of this essay, Flower Husbands.
But why would it only really affect Flower Husbands? Now we get into a rough topic: shipping discourse. Back in those days, shipping in the mcyt fandom was heavily frowned upon. Moreso than it is today (I know it’s still around, but it was a lot worse the earlier we go lol). I’ve even seen old relics of ppl saying flower husbands should only be portrayed as platonic cuz it’s wrong to ship them, despite their team name literally being husbands. But more importantly, for A LOT of people, flower husbands was the One Ship people felt “allowed” to ship, BECAUSE it was canon. So they would allow FH and shun every other ship.
My point isn’t actually that, with it being the only “acceptable” ship everyone tried to make it more wholesome, though I suppose that could be a contributor. But my ACTUAL point is where all the things I laid out finally close in on each other:
Ships were a Dangerous territory in mcyt fandom, and ships being “canon” was something a lot of people weren’t prepared to deal with. People don’t want to get too close to RPF territory, but back in the day their ideas of c! vs cc! wasn’t as great, so they default to the DSMP Rule of “if it’s stated to be roleplay, then it’s canon to the characters, if not, it’s noncanon and just the CCs hanging out”.
You see where I’m going with this? When trying to follow this rule for a character relationship where they don’t explicitly state what is or isn’t RP, they hear “we’re married” and instantly mark that as canon to the characters since it clearly isn’t true to the CCs, and tend to block out anything else, otherwise you’re risking it not actually being true to the characters. Especially when it’s things like Scott saying something mean about Jimmy; that directly contradicts the “these characters are in love” thing, so it must not be canon, right?
But wouldn’t people still remember that these things happened, or did they actually straight up not process any of it? My answer to that is: of course everyone was paying attention, but with the context that it’s the CCs playing a video game, all of the teasing and other behavior seems WAY less serious. It just looks like average friends playing a hunger games smp together. And as I explained earlier, the fandom was ONLY processing this as a CC thing, so Scott’s treatment of Jimmy never stood out because that’s just how it is playing games.
Back to DSMP, I’m not active in that fandom anymore but I’ll see snippets sometimes, and I’ve seen the claim that beeduo was actually boring in canon and the fandom was the one that made it interesting. I feel like this is exactly what happened with FH. Nobody was actually expecting anyone to go hard into romantic roleplay, so the fans just take whichever pair says they’re getting married and fill in the blanks themselves. And that was normal back then, it wasn’t fans making stuff up for no reason, it was kind of expected of us.
So yeah, I personally believe that this whole confusion about FH is a result of its time. Whether you want to finally look at the actual substance of the relationship rather than following weird rules about what is or isn’t “canon”, or you believe that since FH was from a time where romantic RP was confusing and weird it would make the most sense to take into account the time period it came from and ignore the less appealing bits in favor of the fanon, I don’t really care honestly. But man isn’t this an interesting situation.

Genuine thought as a fellow trans dude, I’ve seen a lot of (obviously non-serious) questions on other blogs about characters’ genitals such as “how does it look like?” and similar, and I think we all know & understand that such questions are extremely inappropriate to ask and (I hope) no one would actually go around asking these questions irl. Idk, I think we should treat trans characters just like cis ones, without any special “precautions”, so to normalise them and not make cis people treat them like fragile boxes, a thing which happens to a lot of us irl. Hope this doesn’t come off as an attack or anything lol.
no worries, i didn't take this as an attack at all. i actually agree with you, that's why i mentioned feeling conflicted about it and also mentioned that i've changed my stance on how i felt about handling Noel and Clementine in game and in explicit intimate scenes.
however, for me the problem comes from the fact that people... don't ask these kinds of questions about cis characters? i suppose people do get cheeky "who is the biggest 🤪" asks but i would hardly compare the two. to be a bit crude, no one is going to be asking if a cis character has a dick or not, or "what does it look like". of course it's natural for people to be curious, and i honestly encourage the open discussion and am happy to see trans bodies being talked about more in a positive way, but not everyone is going to be comfortable with it due to the inescapable transphobia online and in the community. sending me that kind of ask is like sending out an invitation for a debate or a discussion that i don't necessarily want to have. i also just don't think people should default to asking a random IF author on tumblr dot com to describe what bottom growth looks like.
and with most of these asks typically coming from someone who is anonymous, i have no way of truly knowing what the tone is, what their intentions are or why this is being asked - is it another trans person? or maybe someone who is just genuinely curious? or, more likely in my experience, is it someone who is going to immediately follow up this message with something transphobic after i answer? do i want to roll the dice and find out?
so while i agree with what you're saying, it's important to consider the context and the reality we live in. the IF community is not kind to trans people or trans characters. and as a trans person, my first priority is protecting myself and my mental health. so what i mean when i say "precautions," is that those precautions are for me, because i've had to deal with transphobic harassment here for years now, and i try to mitigate it as much as i can. it's also for my personal comfort - again, to be blunt, i'm simply just not comfortable discussing a trans character's genitals with anonymous strangers on the internet. it makes me feel vulnerable.
also i do want to say i didn't mean for any of that to come across as a dig at other authors - if you're comfortable answering those kinds of questions, that's really only something you can decide for yourself. like i said, this is just coming from my own experiences in IF and for my own personal comfort - i have previously talked a lot about trans stuff and gender and sexuality here, when i'm feeling up to it, but it is something that is very draining for me and can also be very upsetting.
basically: i do agree that it's important not to other trans characters or treat them any differently than cis characters, but i also think there are ways to do it that don't require me answering invasive questions or questions that i don't feel comfortable with as a real life trans person, you know what i mean?

PLEASE ramble about Xinyan, Beidou, and Kazuha I’m begging you I’m kissing your ring
OKAY HERE I GO!!!
Most of these are self-indulgent while some have some canon backing but regardless, enjoy the brain worms!!'
Spoilers for Summer Fantasia!
Beidou taught Xinyan how to wield a claymore. (Their normal attack pattern is the same except for Beidou's last kick) *
Beidou took Xinyan in because she sees parts of her younger self in Xinyan. *
Beidou is the tallest among the three, followed by Xinyan and then Kazuha. Secretly, Beidou's a bit worried that Xinyan might grow taller than her when her final growth spurt hits (because it'd mean she wouldn't be able to noogie Xinyan as easily.)
Beidou fully expects Kazuha to simply up and leave the Crux sometime soon to see the world (check her voice lines) but Kazuha has unconsciously made it his home/safe place and will find his way back to the Alcor no matter how far he travels. (At the end of his domain, Kazuha's childhood table and bonsai were aboard the Alcor.) So, need to worry about him leaving anytime soon, Beidou!
Kazuha and Xinyan have accidentally more or less become Beidou's protégées but she knows that the two of them have their own passions to follow and wish to see the world so has no plans of coaxing them into that role and making them stay with the crux. However, whether it be at the end of a tiring day or a long journey the both of them are welcomed back aboard the Alcor. Beidou hopes that the Alcor (and her) is the one place they can come back to without hesitation.
Beidou isn't a eyepatch collecter like a certain other captain but she has a very special one that she holds dear. It looks similar to her regular ones but has flames embroidered on it at the part where the string attaches. Xinyan had sewed it back up when it tore while battling a sea foe and Beidou's kept it in her collection of personal treasures ever since.
When Xinyan was younger and still lived with her parents, she used to run aboard Beidou's ship if she could when things got too much or she didn't have the energy to smile at her problems. There, she either seamlessly started working with the crew to take her mind off things or sang to a small bunch of sailors. Whenever Beidou noticed the tiredness in her eyes despite her peppy voice she used to drop everything she was doing and sit beside Xinyan to hear her sing. Even though Beidou didn't understand her music, she used to pay close attention to the lyrics and give her input according, even telling Xinyan stories from her voyages, hoping that they'd inspire her to write more songs.
It's not very often, but now and then when Kazuha feels particularly melancholic, he requests Beidou to spar with him, both to keep his blade sharp and because the electro that buzzes throughout reminds him of his homeland and dear friend.
Both Kazuha and Xinyan have accidentally called Beidou mom at least once.
Beidou and Xinyan once dragged Kazuha to one of Beidou's after-voyage parties at the Wanmin restaurant, though he enjoyed the meal he almost teared up red faced because of how spicy the two ladies liked their dishes. Now, every so often he takes his food just a bit spicier in hopes of developing his palate.
On voyages, Kazuha spends most of his time in the Crow's nest reading the winds or places where there is just the right amount of sun and shade. Xinyan on the other hand, spends her time on the deck chatting, singing or doing the heavy lifting. Beidou makes sure to check on the both of them for time to time and gives them a light-hearted yet stern sounding talk if they slack off too much.
It was just Xinyan before, but at one point even Kazuha became aware of just how often Beidou goes up the Jade chamber for "Just a game of chess" despite publicly hating on the Tianquan. Now the two of them will gang up to tease her about it.
When Kazuha saw Ningguang in person for the first time he genuinely wondered if how similar they looked had something to do with Beidou taking him in so readily.
Many a time the Millilth have tried to escort Kazuha back to the port thinking he was just a tourist under the Crux's protection who had accidentally wandered too far out in the desolate parts of Liyue. Beidou had to put up a notice with Kazuha's face reading "IF LOST DO NOT RETURN HIM TO BEIDOU!!! HE CAN MAKE HIS WAY BACK JUST FINE"
Being trained by none other than Beidou, Xinyan is very VERY strong physically. Beidou has asked her to take part in the crux clash repeatedly in order to humble some contestants but Xinyan always flusters and says that it's not really her area of expertise.
On their impromptu inspiration tour, Xinyan and Kazuha run into Tartaglia on Dragonspine. Xinyan's happiness is unbound after meeting dear Red after so long and asks Tart to tell her stories from his travels while they rest around a brazier, to which he obliges. Tartaglia (on Big Brother mode) offers to "rough that guy Kazuha up a bit just in case" to which Xinyan declines.
While song-writing together, Xinyan recalls all the Fisherman shanties Beidou used to sing. If it weren't coming from Xinyan, Kazuha would find the information of Beidou singing highly doubtful.
During their travels, there was at least one time that Xinyan genuinely forgot Kazuha could do his E skill and instead hoisted him up on her shoulders so that they could get over a ledge or scale a boulder.
Kazuha and Xinyan both have burn scars on their left hands and have shared the story of how they got it with each other. Kazuha got his from his friend's vision and Xinyan from an accident from the time she tried to imbue fire in her performances (before obtaining a pyro vision)
"Xinyan gives the best hugs. There is simply no competition." - Kazuha, Yun Jin, Xiangling, and Fischl.
Xinyan had once asked Kazuha what language the wind speaks to which his mind completely drew a blank.
Kazuha regrets that Xinyan had to spend most of her time in Inazuma fighting. He’s promised her that if they ever get the chance, he’d give her a proper tour of his homeland and show her everything that it has to offer.
When Xinyan performed atop her island at the GAA, a certain green-clad bard was heard playing the most peculiar tune outside cattails'. His usual listeners applauded the new and refreshing song while some with exceptionally keen ears commented that it sounded like half a melody, missing a piece. To which the bard simply replied that his partner had played along with him from elsewhere, and if they had strained their ears a bit, they could've heard her part of the song riding along the winds.*
