On how Crowley and Aziraphale felt during the kiss (but mainly Crowley here):
Ok so first, the main idea for this huge meta is that a LOT of us noticed how the music from the kiss scene is similar to the nebula one, right?
Second, a lot of us also correctly noticed the parallels between the kiss and how it was to taste food for the first time for Aziraphale: bc of his reactions, the hand on lips, the similar way MS acted both scenes, the little inhale etc. So how was it for Crowley?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Aziraphale's reaction to the kiss is practically a puzzle to solve on its own, so it's fun to analyse it, but basically, in a few words, Aziraphale kissed Crowley and he discovered he was physically starving for him, longing for him, yearning for him, for his kiss, and he had no idea. Just like with the ox. And now he needs to gorge himself in him but he can't. Great amazing heartbreaking chef's kiss someone give MS an Emmy.
But there's already so much amazing meta out there about Aziraphale x Ox ribs x The Kiss that I want to focus on Crowley here, and on the music.
So back to the music. The song in "Before the Beginning" and the song that plays during The Kiss (I Forgive You + Don't Bother) are so similar. They're not *exactly* the same, but they're totally reminiscent of each other. The viewer is immediately reminded of those chords that played in the opening scene. It's no coincidence that the fandom was talking about this fact only minutes after first watching those final fifteen minutes. This is an obvious intentional choice for storytelling reasons (David Arnold is a genius).
I have no expertise whatsoever when it comes to music, so I asked our friend @otsanda to see if that made sense and not only it does and she explained it, but she also uncovered so much more hidden meaning in all of it (musicians are amazing), so check out her meta about the music that not only serves as evidence to what I'm proposing here but it also has so much more juicy information in it 💖.
Back to the point: WHY thought? Why choose a similar song? Why intentionally COMPOSE a similar song for that moment?
Hear me out. WHAT IF, by reminding the audience of the creation of the nebula, they meant to convey to us that, for Crowley, kissing Aziraphale gave him the same feeling that creating his stars did?
THAT'S what the music is telling us. THAT'S why it makes us remember "Before the Beginning". It may sound cheesy, but Crowley may have literally seen stars when he kissed Aziraphale. He couldn't react accordingly (just like Aziraphale couldn't), bc it was an overwhelming and extremely sad moment (the music is also telling us that) for both of them. They knew it was ending . They were both having a moment of huge revelation that was fated to not come to completion. Crowley was right, it was too late.
It makes sense to show Crowley's feelings through the music, bc he was the one who started the kiss, and also he was wearing sunglasses in that scene, it's different from a character like Aziraphale that has all his million expressions for everyone to see at all times. And they've been doing this ever since s1 with the Queen songs that play in his car or in the background.
So my point is: the same song being used there makes me wonder if kissing Aziraphale finally gave him what he lost. His purpose. What Aziraphale was trying to give back to him by taking him back to heaven. There's no need for Heaven. Just kiss him, Aziraphale, and there he'll find the stars you want to give back to him. There you will one day see that smile on his face you saw Before The Beginning. Neil Gaiman and David Arnold I am in your walls 😭
This is what may lead us to see this happiness in Crowley again (not the action of kissing itself, of course, but what it represents to their relationship, them being together, them being an Us).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As @otsanda said: from the music we can interpret that that moment was a Revelation for them. Almost a religious experience. Crowley found his purpose again. What he'd been missing the whole season (or even his whole life since the Fall, but we've seen him especially depressed this season).
I'm not even getting into the poetry of how one can interpret the parallel to the angel's reaction to the kiss as carnal, and the demon's as religious; that would be another whole essay but let's just agree that it's incredibly beautiful. (Let me be clear that I mean here Aziraphale's reaction is carnal specifically for Crowley, and Crowley's is religious specifically for Aziraphale, not religious as in "worshipping god")
"Do you ever wonder what's the point?" Crowley asked in s2e1. The point, for him, is Aziraphale (if you've seen The Good Place you know what I mean). I hope he figured this out with that kiss, even as heartbreaking as it was. Even if it was a (temporary) separation kiss. (I hope Aziraphale figures this out with time too, that he's more than enough to make Crowley happy, that Crowley doesn't need Heaven, or stars, that Crowley needs him.)
Maybe that's why Crowley didn't leave and kept waiting outside until the very last moment.
Aziraphale and Crowley both bit the apple at the end of s2. There's no turning back from that Knowledge now.
Edit: I just have to add here this brilliant colour analysis of the nebula scene by @halemerry. And it's pointed out that during the nebula formation there's a moment when it looks like two people embracing. And the fact that a similar song is used in the actual Kiss scene I just... I have no words

Alastor x Wife! Reader
Oneshot / fluff
Tumblr media
After you and alastor had moved into the hotel to “help.” Let’s just say that the rest of the hotel residents saw pda all. The. Time.
Vaggie watched as alastor kissed your hand again! “Sweet satan can those two get a room already that’s literally the seventh time he kissed her hand.” She grumbled out “aw come on vaggie you have to admit it’s sweet seeing love like that’s down here, it’s rare, except our love of course.” Stated Charlie.
“I get it, we get like that, but the difference is that we do it SOMETIMES they do it EVERY TIME they have the chance.” She Argued “and besides I just really don’t like that radio dipshit.” “Oh please you don’t like anyone attached to a dick.” Angel dust butted in while he laid on the other couch busy looking at his phone.
Vaggie could only roll her eyes in response “well I think our pda is not of your concern.” Spoke alastor with a smug look which made everyone except you jump a little “satan’s asshole do you always have to come out like that?!” Argued angeldust “it’s more entertaining to watch all of you jump in a little scare.” Alastor replied proud of himself to make them a little scared.
“Dear even if it was quite hilarious we can’t do that to them all the time… it wouldn’t be entertaining anymore like that.” You advised him while you walked towards him to be next to him. “You’re right my dear, wouldn’t wish that.”
“Yep a match made in hell.” Grumbled out husk then he continued to take his beer “husk is right my dear we the perfect pair.” “I don’t think that’s what he meant sorta, but we are perfect for each other.” Just then you looked to see the clock then you let out a gasp “oh Al we don’t want to be late for our dinner reservations.” You stated, “oh yes, we must get ready.”
With a simple snap of his finger’s you and alastor were completely dressed “what’s up with the getup?” Angeldust questioned “it’s our anniversary, so we going to the cannibal colony to alastor’s favorite restaurant.” You smiled “wait you’re a cannibal too.” Vaggie asked in shock “well… I did try demon meat and it’s not that bad.” You answers shrugging your shoulders “so that’s a yes? Or … no?” Charlie questioned further “mmm yeah I believe so.” You answered again.
“Huh didn’t take you for a cannibal.” Spoke husk “yeah have you ate another’s man pecker and Al if she did would you be ok with that?” Questioned angeldust “absolutely not.” You both answered “enough with the questions we must hurry (y/n).” Demanded alastor “goodb- you didn’t get to finish you’re farewell due to alastor, once again he snapped his fingers and you were at the restaurant.
“Thankfully my love we made it on time.” Alastor spoke while he grabbed your hand and guided you inside the restaurant. A host was at the front seeming to writing something “welcome to the FedOnPals how may- when he looked up he immediately panicked “T-The alastor by hen smiled wider “yes me the radio demon and my lovely wife!” Alastor stated proudly also just because you knew he was an attention whore so he wanted others to know he was there.
Of course some of the cannibals in the restaurant seemed nervous. “Well- yes um of course I see you’re name on the list so… let me b-bring to your table.” The man said clearly wanting to get out of this situation as fast as possible.
Of course you two got the best seats in the house “a waiter will be with you shortly very… shortly p-promise.” The host immediately left with only made alastor chuckle “I do love the perks of being an overlord.” “Aw even more than me?” You teased with a smirk, he smiled wider “no dear you know I can’t love anything more than you.”
You smiled “I love the outfits you picked for us by the way very classy.” “Of course, only the best for my wife.” Just then a waiter came in “hello I’m Mindy and I’ll have your orders.” The demoness spoke as she gave you two the menus.
As the demoness left you two picked out your orders, ate, alastor paid then you two left to go to a jazz club to dance “oh honey you rembered my favorite spot.” You spoke with pure joy “I could never forget, besides our love for jazz is how we meet.” You smiled brighten as you pecked his cheek making him lightly blush “adorable.” “Me? adorable!? dear don’t joke like that.” Alastor demanded making you laugh “oh honey alright just having a little fun.”
Alastor opened the door for you, the song ‘lets misbehave’ by Irving Aaronson filled you’re ears “oh that’s a good song.” You stated, you thanked alastor and went through and he went after you.
You immediately dragged him to the dance floor which he happily let you, both you begin doing the Charleston funny enough this song always reminded you have alastor.
He then brought you into the foxtrot dance, you both looked into each others eyes that are filled with love. He the suddenly gave you a kiss making you blush but immediately kiss back.
You two continued dance, happy to in each others arms and having a loving relationship and knowing that you two where always will be inseparable.

Wandering
Dean Winchester & little sister!reader
Requested by anonymous
Synopsis: Set during 15x07 (spoilers included), Dean takes you out for a solo hunt where you run into his old friend Lee, but things go sour quickly.
Tumblr media
You were sitting in the corner of the kitchen watching your big brother Sam and his ‘friend’ Eileen awkwardly flirt, though they were clearly hungover. You were somewhere in between being amused and disgusted, but Sam was making you some bacon so you figured you could get over it. Besides, you liked Eileen, and it was good to see Sam smile again.
Despite that, you were relieved to see Dean finally stumble into the kitchen looking for coffee. You’d spent the last twenty minutes feeling like the third wheel to your big brother’s date, and you hoped that Dean had something to do that would get you out of here for a while.
“Are you guys hungover?” Dean said after only minute or two around the happy couple.
“We may have gotten a little carried away…” Eileen said, smiling shyly at Sam.
“With margaritas,” the two finished together, Sam mimicking Eileen’s sign language. Dean just stared at them for a moment before brushing the awkwardness aside and continuing.
“Ok, well I’m gonna head out. I think there might be a hunt.”
“You want us to come?” Sam asked, suddenly more alert.
“No no, it’s…it’s probably nothing.” Dean shrugged.
“I’m coming!” You insisted, jumping up.
“You don’t have to…” Dean began, but he stopped at your pleading stare. “Ok, ok.”
“You want some bacon?” Sam asked, frowning in concern at Dean’s eagerness to leave.
“No, I should get going.”
Sam’s eyebrow’s almost disappeared into his hair.
“But it…it’s bacon.”
Dean just shrugged and turned to go. You snatched up several pieces off the plate that Sam was still holding out, before running to catch your big brother.
The ride out was pretty quiet other than Dean’s cassettes blaring from the speakers. You got the impression he didn’t want to talk, so you were content to just hum along to his music and keep to yourself.
He got this way sometimes; restless and desperate to get away. You normally let him, but the last thing you wanted was to spend the weekend third wheeling Sam and Eileen, so this time Dean would have to get away with you tagging along.
You arrived in Texas pretty late, but Dean still opted to turn into the bar where the girl disappeared so he could start looking for intel right away.
A day-long car ride with someone who doesn’t really want you there is exhausting, so you were dragging your feet a little on the way inside. You found a corner to huddle in while Dean began to look around—standard procedure, since you couldn’t drink and Dean didn’t want you to end up talking to creeps. However, you emerged from your corner when you noticed Dean staring intently at a man up on stage singing. The man noticed him after he’d finished the song and was stepping off the stage. You neared Dean as the two men stared at each other—they didn’t really look happy.
“Lee Webb,” Dean said lowly.
“Dean Winchester.” Was the reply.
They stared for a few more tense seconds before they suddenly lurched forward. You jumped in surprise, wondering for a moment if you should intervene. But then you saw the huge grin on Dean’s face—they weren’t fighting, the idiots were hugging.
“What are you doing here?” Dean demanded as he pulled away.
“What am I—I own this place! What are you doing here?”
“I’m on a hunt,” Dean replied. “You don’t hunt anymore?”
“No, no not for a while,” Lee said, a dark look clouding his face for a moment before he shook it away.
“Oh, Y/N!” Dean turned to you suddenly, still grinning. “Look who it is!”
“This is Y/N?” Lee said reverently. “Last I saw you you were learning to walk! I can’t imagine you remember me, do you little sister?”
You shook your head shyly, your body subconsciously leaning behind Dean at the sudden attention.
“That’s ok,” he assured you, chuckling. “Come here, it’s good to see you little sister!” You stepped around Dean and accepted the hug Lee offered. “Last time we met you didn’t even reach my knee. You used to call me Lee Lee.” Lee chuckled.
There was something strangely comforting about this man you didn’t recognize; maybe it was the smile on Dean’s face. Or maybe it was how normal this interaction was—some stranger greeting you and talking about how he knew you when you were a baby—it was like something out of a family reunion on tv. Your small family didn’t have many old friends, and the only family reunion you could have would need to be at a cemetery.
“Lorna!” Lee called out suddenly after he pulled away from you. “Can you get us some drinks?”
As the two men headed for a table, you tugged on Dean’s sleeve.
“I’m gonna look around a little,” you said. “You go on.”
“You sure?” He asked, and when you nodded he left without another thought. You found yourself smiling at this; Dean, grinning and catching up with an old buddy. It was so normal, and that didn’t happen for you guys a lot. You were more than happy to step to the side and let them reminisce; you couldn’t imagine you’d have much to add.
As you moved through the bar, you found yourself desperate to get away from the crowd. You were wandering, completely unfocused on where you were going; all your energy was taken up trying not to run into people. So when you arrived at a door at the side of the bar, you went to it immediately. It was locked, but that didn’t deter you; you’d been spending much too much time around your brothers.
You pulled out the lock pick that Sam had given you and made quick work with the lock. You weren’t particularly sure why you were breaking and entering, other than your desperation to get away from the people surrounding you. Between Sam busy with Eileen this morning, and Dean meeting up with an old friend now, you felt very unwanted, and you couldn’t get far enough away.
The lock clicked and the door opened without trouble. You stepped in to find not a supply closet—what you had expected—but instead a large cellar. You slipped down the steps, closing the door silently behind you. You looked around the dark space, confused—there were no chairs, no extra drinks, nothing that looked like the cellar of a bar. Instead, there was a large steel door with metal bars instead of a window. You were creeping closer to it when a bang resounded through the space following a giant, horrendous head appearing at the window. It was worse than any monster you’d seen
You couldn’t help it—so unexpected was the creature—you let out a shriek of terror before clapping a hand over your mouth. You glanced at the door out, your breathing ragged and quick. Had anyone heard?
If Lee owned this place, and the monster was here…
He was who you were hunting.
“I wonder where Y/N got off to,” Dean muttered to himself as he sat back down with Lee after a—he hated to admit it—fun karaoke session. He was relieved to see that you hadn’t seen it, as it was the last thing he needed getting back to Sam.
“I’ll go look for her,” Lee offered, and before Dean could protest he continued. “I’d like to catch up a bit with her. Besides, you gotta warm up your voice for the next song.” Dean rolled his eyes as Lee went off in search for you.
Lee was just passing his cellar door when he heard a scream. He froze; it was so loud in the bar that he wouldn’t have heard it if he wasn’t right by the door. He knew it was you; he should’ve known better than to let a Winchester, even a little one, wander around the bar with a monster in the basement. Even as he opened the door, his mind was going a mile a minute, trying to think of some way to get out of this.
Trying to think of a reason not to kill you.
There were boxes stacked up in a small corner under the stairs, so when you heard the door opening you ran for them. Crouching low, you held your hand over your mouth to try to cover your ragged breaths.
“Y/N?”
Your heart caught in your throat at the sound of Lee’s voice.
“I know you’re in here, Y/N. You saw something you weren’t supposed to see, right?” You didn’t say anything, didn’t move, so he continued. “That’s ok, little sister. I’m not gonna hurt you. Just come on out and we can talk.”
Your hands shook as you considered his words. Surely he was lying, but if he was it wouldn’t matter; he’d find you, it was only a matter of time. Maybe if you could catch him off guard…
You shoved the boxes next to you and they went tumbling down. Hoping that would distract Lee, you made a break for the stairs. You didn’t even get close.
“Hey,” Lee grabbed you around the waist and it was over—you were no match for his strength. “Hey, stop!” Your struggles didn’t even affect him, so after a long moment you stilled. “That’s it.” He sighed, but his grip didn’t relax. “It’s ok little sister.”
Another bang from the cage where the monster was held had you whimpering as you again tried to escape.
“It’s ok, it’s ok,” Lee soothed. “It won’t hurt you, and neither will I. You just gotta make me a promise, ok?” Lee turned you around in his arms so you were facing him, his hands tight on your arms to keep you from running. “You can’t tell Dean about this.”
“I don’t understand.” You shuddered. “Y-you’re making those people disappear?” You couldn’t help the tears that were blurring your vision. You were terrified and confused.
“Don’t worry about that.” Lee demanded. “There’s a lot you just don’t understand, and Dean wouldn’t either. So if you want to get out of here, you gotta promise me you won’t tell him.”
“You said you-you wouldn’t hurt me,” you countered.
“Please don’t make this any harder than it has to be,” Lee pleaded. “Do you promise? Nobody has to get hurt if you just don’t tell Dean.”
Your whole body shook as you forced yourself to nod. A change came over Lee’s face, like a storm cloud coming over the sun.
“Now come on. Don’t lie to me, I can tell.”
Another bang from the cage had both of you flinching this time. Somehow you recovered before Lee did, and you broke free of his grasp and ran for the stairs.
“Hey!”
You were halfway up the stairs when a harsh tug on the back of your shirt threw you off balance. Your stomach flipped as you lost your footing and fell backwards off the stairs. Your body twisted mid-fall, and when you hit the floor it was hands-first. Your right arm twisted horribly upon impact, and you screamed out in pain as your bones cracked.
“Kid, hey.” You whimpered as Lee lifted your head, looking you over. “Gosh, your arm’s definitely broken.” He shook his head. “Why couldn’t you just do what I told you?” You tried to back away from Lee as he stared at you, but he wouldn’t let you go. Lee sighed, “You’ve got too much of Dean in you. I’m sorry little sister, I really am.”
“Sorry?” You whimpered. “Why—“
You were cut off as Lee snatched up a rag and wrapped it around your mouth. He lifted you by the arms—being surprisingly gentle with your broken arm—and despite your struggles, he wrestled you into a chair and tied you down.
“Could’ve been so easy,” Lee muttered to himself—or to you, you couldn’t tell. “But you just couldn’t leave it alone.”
You tried to speak, but the words couldn’t escape past the gag.
“They can’t hear you anyway,” Lee mumbled, reaching up and pulling the gag down.
“Lee Lee, please—“ you hadn’t even meant to call him that, the nickname just slipped out, like your subconscious remembered the man who used to be good, and was trying to ease him back—“please, I just wanna go back to Dean.”
“You’d tell him, I know you would.” Lee groaned. “I didn’t wanna do this.”
“You don’t have to—“ you yelped in surprise when Lee stuck a needle in your arm. It was attached to a clear tube leading right into the monster’s cage. “You’re feeding me to your monster?”
“It won’t hurt,” Lee promised. “After you lose a couple of pints, you just pass out. I promise it won’t hurt, little sister.”
“Stop it, stop calling me that!” You sobbed.
You flinched in surprise when Lee lifted a hand up and brushed a few of your tears away.
“I really didn’t wanna do this.” He sighed. He lifted the gag back up and turned to leave.
When Lee returned, you were barely conscious. Everything felt foggy and dreamlike. That was perhaps why it took you a moment to recognize who Lee was tying to the chair next to you—Dean.
“Y/N?” Dean’s panicked voice reached through your fogged mind, and you lifted your head.
“Lee, you’ve gotta be kidding me,” Dean growled. “Let her go.”
“Can’t do that, Dean. She’d just run to your other brother, and things would go bad all over again. I didn’t want any of this to happen, but…”
Lee’s words faded out of your mind as you felt your consciousness slipping away.
You managed to make out Dean calling your name, and Lee assuring him…
“She’s not in pain, Dean. She won’t feel a thing.”
“Y/N! Come on, sweetheart.”
You stirred to feel Dean shaking your shoulders. When your eyes fluttered open, he relaxed completely.
“Hey, hey you ok?”
You nodded weakly as you glanced around the room, trying to get your bearings. The needle was out of your arm, and you jumped in surprise when you saw the monster in the middle of the floor; he was dead.
“Ok, you’re ok,” Dean breathed, and you stiffened in surprise when he pulled you into his arms. “You had me worried there for a second.”
You relaxed for the first time in far too long, happy to feel safe in Dean’s arms. But it ended all too soon as he pulled away.
“You gotta stay here for a bit, alright? I gotta take care of Lee.”
“Take…take care of him?” You asked.
“Yeah.” Dean’s face darkened. “Kiddo, he killed people. You know what I have to do.”
“Let me help,” you said in a small voice, but he just shook his head.
“Your arm’s broken. I want you to stay here, I can handle him, ok?”
You nodded, and Dean was up and climbing the stairs without another word.
You waited with bated breath by the door as shots rang out just in the other side. As soon as the shots stopped, you tugged at the door to peak your head in. That was a mistake.
“Y/N, no!” You heard Dean yell as he jumped up to run to you from behind the bar. He wasn’t fast enough.
Lee was on you before you could even see what direction he came from. He’d ditched his—presumably empty—gun in favor of a beer bottle that he broke against the wall just before reaching you.
Dean got within three feet of you before Lee had you, back to his chest and the broken bottle to your throat.
“Don’t even think about it,” Lee said, and Dean raised his hands in surrender and backed up a half-step.
“Just let her go.”
“Can’t do that, Dean.”
“Yes you can,” Dean reasoned. “Just let her go, and you and me can fight this out. Even fight, just you and me.”
“If you didn’t want her involved, you shouldn’t have brought her.” Lee shook his head. “She’s just a kid, Dean. Pretty darn curious one. She found my little hiding spot within an hour.”
“You said it yourself, she’s just a kid,” Dean pleaded. “So let her alone.”
“Just you and me?” Lee seemed to be turning the idea over in his head.
“Fair fight,” Dean said. “I know you don’t want to hurt her. So don’t.”
“I take her, no one has to get hurt.” Lee argued. “I’ll let her go when I’m far away from here.”
“You won’t get far, you know that,” Dean said. “Let’s just get this over with now. Let her go.”
There was a painfully long pause before the pressure on both your throat and your arm was released. You ran immediately to Dean, who took hold of your shoulders.
“Go to the Impala.”
“No,” you choked out, shaking your head.
“I need—“ Dean shook you a little as you continued to protest. “—hey, look at me, I need you to go, please. Sweetheart you’ve gotta go.”
“B-but…”
“Go.”
Dean was pushing you away now, towards the door, and you didn’t see much choice other than to obey. You took one step away from him before changing course and jumping into his arms.
“Hey, it’s gonna be ok,” Dean promised.
“Don’t lose,” you whispered.
Dean didn’t speak. He just pulled you away and pressed a kiss to your forehead.
You left without another protest.
“I meant wait inside the Impala, not—“
Dean didn’t get a chance to finish quip, as he was nearly knocked backwards by the force of you flinging yourself into his arms.
“Hey now,” he chuckled. “You weren’t nervous, were you?”
You could tell that his stupid jokes were an attempted deflection to the fact that he just killed an old friend, so you didn’t bother responding to them; you just kept holding on.
Dean sighed after a moment, too tired to keep up the smile and the jokes. “Hey, how’s that arm?”
“Still broken.” You grinned. Dean just rolled his eyes.
“Ok, ok. Let’s just get out of here. And kid?”
“Yeah Dean?”
“No more wandering off.”

✧warnings: F-boy Sunghoon so mentions of sex ig, may be a lil suggestive, possessive hoon
❁synopsis: The campus hottie, was practically perfect, smart handsome talented and rumour has it among the girls, good in bed. The male is a fuck boy, a jerk face, never once wanted to fall in love after having his heart broken once by an unlucky bitch. Heck he believed he'd be like that forever, until he came across the new girl. Yang y/n.
✧❁✧❁✧❁✧❁✧❁✧❁✧❁✧❁✧❁✧❁✧❁✧❁✧
✧❁PART 1/???❁✧
"Oh my god you slept with him?!" one of the girls exclaimed as the other girls had their shocked reactions too "Yeah... then he broke up with me" the girl admitted "Isn't Sunghoon a fuck boy though? girl why'd you date him he doesn't even hide the fact he doesn't love you?" another girl pointed out "It doesn't matter, at least I had a great night" the girl said shrugging as the others laughed it off.
Y/n fiddled with her phone as she waited outside the classroom, one earphone in, hidden by her hair. She's heard many crazy things about this high school, having been transferred from a school in UK where she was used to everything, to a high school in South Korea. Everything is so new there, education system, driving on the different side of the road. but she had her best friend, Danielle by her side.
"Hey it's going to be ok" the girl reassured. One thing y/n is glad about, is the fact that she's fluent in Korean so language will not be a big problem for her. She smiles at Danielle as she follows her in. The teacher asks her to introduce herself as the girl blinks, staring at the class in disbelief. Introduce? first day and she has to speak in front of all these judgemental 18 year old strangers?!
"I'm y/n..." she says, forcing a smiled, the teacher points at an empty seat which was sadly not next Danielle. Making a sad pouty face at Danielle, she sat at the seat. 17 minutes. That's how long it took "Park Sunghoon late again?!" The teacher scolded as the male scratched his head then he froze. His eyes on y/n.
The girl's jaw rested in her palm as she doodled in the margin, false lashes fluttering against her glasses, her lips stained with a rosy, nude shade. Fuck she's everything. Is this what cupid felt when he saw psyche? love at first sight like Romeo experienced with Juliet? Sunghoon was captivated.
He slammed his palm on the desk of the person beside y/n. The girl didn't even flinch and probably didn't care due to the earphone blasting Itzy in her left ear. the student sitting beside her immediately got up and went to a different seat as Sunghoon slipped into the seat beside the girl. he turned to her, tapping her shoulder. the girl paused her music turning to him.
So this is Park Sunghoon, the handsome fuckboy they say. Y/n knew he was bad news "Im Sunghoon... and you?" the male asked "Not interested" she said, turning back to do her work "Come on baby, don't be like that" he said, winking as she sighed, looking at him. She then turned back and ignored him, doodling.
"Wah you can draw- that looks so realistic gurl" he complimented as the girl groaned, slamming her head on the desk. "Park Sunghoon stop distracting the new girl and get on with your work. or you can switch spaces with Eunchae!" the teacher warned as Sunghoon groaned, picking up his pencil.
2 lessons passed by and break time rolled in, she smiled, sorta running over to Danielle with grabby hands. they jumped up and down squealing like typical girls as their fingers intertwined. "I can't believe we're finally in the same schooool!" Danielle squealed as y/n smiled. "I know right?! we can finally do typical bestie stuff get our nails done, do each other's makeup, gossip, and hang out~" y/n added with a smile.
"All of this and I don't hear boyfriend... i'm assuming it's because you have one?" Sunghoon asked with a raised eyebrow as the girl sighed "No I don't never had one and never will... I don't like the idea of putting all my trust in a guy." She said, in a slight passive aggressive manner. "Ok but I'm telling you, a pretty girl like you NEEDS to end up with a trust worthy guy like me" Sunghoon said.
Y/n gave him the 'be for real' look as she rolled her eyes, walking away with Danielle. "So stupid. He really thinks I'm going to let him get in my skirt?!" y/n scoffed, handing danielle a cherry lollipop as she sucked on her own. "Please. He can't flirt for shit, and just yesterday he had two girlfriends whom he dumped back to back." Danielle added as Y/n shook her head, disappointed. Sunghoon having over heard all this, decided it was time to stop playing girls like a gameboy, and pursue his princess.

gorgeous lies
summary: is it a gorgeous lie, or is it just a dreadful truth?
pairing: charles leclerc x fem!reader
warnings: a little angst, open ending i guess? cursing, mentions of a rocky relationship
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Normally, you didn’t think about the concept of soulmates. It didn’t cross your mind. Until you met Charles; and that changed your whole perspective.
He was always there with you, for you; and you were always there for him. That’s just the way it was.
Relaxing days off were a necessity in your relationship. Calm days spent tangled between white, crisp bedsheets while small, sweet nothings were whispered and short stories were shared. Both of your lives seemed to stop once these days occurred - you were only thinking about each other while the world went on with their lives.
Honesty was very important, too. Both of your promises and words were always fulfilled. It was like an unspeakable vow; it was never really officiated but it was known.
Well, that’s what you thought anyway.
That’s what you thought, until the day you mistook Charles’ phone for yours. You tried unlocking it, but you realised that the Face ID didn’t recognise your face until it was too late.
“mate just tell her u should take a break. it’s better than to lead her on when u don’t even portray ur real feelings” read the text message. You didn’t even know who it was from - maybe Pierre, maybe Joris, maybe Arthur or Lorenzo - and frankly, you didn’t care.
You left as soon as you could. No explanation, no reasoning.
“my love, is everything ok? i’m here if u need me” Charles’ text said. You read it over so many times you memorised it. The fact he easily called you my love when he was unsure of his feelings. The way he easily made you believe him even when he didn’t believe himself.
The way you were so unbelievably attracted to him, like two opposite ends of a magnet, and all that just shattered.
Seconds turned into minutes, minutes turned into hours, hours turned into days. And Charles’ phone never got a notification that you responded.
Naturally, he came over to your house after two very long days. When you saw him on your doorstep, you wanted to slam the door in his face. But you didn’t. Instead, you ‘invite’ him in.
“Are you here to lie to me again?” You stammer. His eyebrows furrow as his eyes look deep into yours.
“What?”
“Or are you here to tell me we should take a break?” You continue. His face contorts as he finally understands what you’re referring to.
“My love, it wasn’t what it looked like-” he begins, but you cut him off as you laugh.
“Don’t my love me right now. I’m not stupid. I’m not a child. Just... get it over with, Charles. Please, just go.” You respond, your voice cracking.
Hearing the evident pain in your voice as it cracked caused his heart to crack, too.
And without another word, he was gone. Forever? Possibly.
Days dragged on like years. Days were spent crying; out of sadness, out of guilt, out of regret. They blended into one another but each one of them stuck out, sharp as a pin.
The one day that stood out the most, though, was the final day of a devastating week. Friday.
A knock on your door caused you to groan as you forced yourself off the couch.
“Is this Ms... L/N?” The man at the door asked. You hummed shortly.
“I have a delivery for you,” he says with a small smile as he places a huge bouquet of your favourite flower on your front door. You thank him as you drag it inside.
You weren’t stupid. You knew it was Charles.
Attached to the flowers was a note. You sighed as you opened it and began reading.
“Y/N,
I promise, none of this was a lie. Well, maybe some of it. But none of it was negative, I swear. It may seem like it was all a lie, but it wasn’t. Everytime I called you my love or told you I love you wasn’t a lie. None of it was. Please give me a chance to explain. I owe you an explanation, please let me do it.
I love you, I swear.
- Charles.”
You sigh once more as you fold up the note, the decision already clear in your mind.
thank you for reading! i hope this was worth it, please don’t be a ghost reader :)

What Simon can teach us about boundaries!
Been seeing a lot of Simon hate again lately (mostly on other apps but i’m sure its here too) and it's getting pretty frustrating and honestly a little bit troubling that people think so little of Simon and his needs.
Simon hate feels like some weird connection to the patriarchy/heteronormativity where some people have just decided that it is okay for one person's needs to be ignored in a relationship in order to satisfy the other. Lisa seemed to intentionally try and create a dynamic in their relationship where they see each other as equals. They may struggle to see each others perspectives at times but that is true for literally ANY RELATIONSHIP where two people come together from different walks of life. Both their needs matter and their journey in the relationship is to figure out how to honor the other persons needs while honoring themselves or see if that is even possible.
Sooo I wanted to share some lessons about boundaries that people could learn through Simon instead of talking sh!t about him !!!
Tumblr media
1. Boundaries are about what we want and need in a relationship. Sometimes people want different things and thats ok!
People love to say that Simon forced Wilhelm to come out. I even saw someone say that Simon was asking Wilhelm to "give up his family and the throne". No where does Simon ask him to do any of those things. Notice how Simon says "I don't want to be anyones secret"? This is not just about Wille. This is a boundary that he has for himself and the types of relationships that he wants to have. Everyone is allowed to have expectations or want a certain type of relationship. Saying you don’t want to be in a secret relationship is quite a reasonable request. It is also quite reasonable to say that you don't want to be in a public relationship. Sometimes in relationships, what two people need is incompatible at the time which is why it made sense for them to end things. That is the point- for both people to say what they need to feel comfortable and sometimes other people cannot meet your needs- you have to decide if that is a dealbreaker and for Simon at the time it was.
2. Boundaries ≠ manipulation
He tells Wilhelm he take as much time as he needs but you have to do it alone. That is a boundary it is NOT manipulation. He does not try to control Wilhelm or tell Wilhelm what to do. Saying a relationship wont work for you unless certain needs are met or that you dont want to do tons of emotional labor for another person is not manipulation. He is saying I am not okay with being a secret, I am not okay with having my trust broken, i’m not okay with being in a relationship where you say one thing and do another (Wilhelm made a promise he could not keep and even he has owned up to that to Nils). Simon is not saying YOU HAVE TO COME OUT RIGHT NOW OR ELSE. He is not playing mind games or trying to get Wilhelm to change his mind in order to be with him. He is willing to walk away even tho his heart is breaking because he knows it is not possible at that point for Wille and him to get on the same page.
Boundaries have become part of social media language lately thanks to instagram therapists and the like but a lot of people have misconstrued the meaning. Some people call something a boundary when they are actually being controlling. However the purpose of a boundary is about what you yourself are comfortable with, not what other people can/cannot do. Ex: “i am okay with holding hands in public but otherwise I don’t feel comfortable with PDA” (healthy boundary). Vs “you can’t have guy friends because I get jealous” (unhealthy boundary). Boundaries are healthy and necessary for a relationship to be healthy- they are not the same as manipulation or trying to control someone else.
3. What is okay for you does not have to be okay for someone else. Everyone’s boundaries are different because we are all different people with different traumas, needs, experiences, relationships, and limits. I have seen people compare the Wilmon to Narlie where Charlie is okay with Nick wanting to keep things “secret”. Besides the fact that this is a completely different relationship and context, the fun thing about boundaries is that what is okay for you does not have to be okay for someone else! Just because you would have been willing to be Wilhelm’s secret if he asked does not mean that Simon has to. Just because Charlie was willing to to do that for Nick does not mean that Simon has to. Not to mention !!! Nick also acknowledged that is not fair to Charlie and outside of not telling people they had a very loving smooth sailing relationship - people expect Simon to be like Charlie without acknowledging that Wilhelm is not giving the level of trust and security that Nick is. If you want to go there, I'm sure if Wille was acting like Nick being consistent not saying "i'm not like that", "delete my number" etc (regardless of the reason) then maybe Simon would have been more okay with it. This is not Wille hate bc i get it, but sometimes in empathizing with Wille people forget that Simon is a whole human with wants and needs. Simon needs to protect himself and his heart. We all do. Relationships should not require you to subject yourself to pain for someone else. It is healthy to have boundaries and know your needs and what you deserve. And at that point in time Wille could not give him that. Most people watching were quite proud of Simon for that so idk how the narrative got turned to him being selfish.
4. Boundaries can change
It is normal to reassess your boundaries, that does not make them any less valid. Clearly for Simon, once Wilhelm proved his trust more and and Simon reevaluated what he wanted, he decided that he was willing to be a secret if that meant having each other. If he never decided that, it still would have been totally valid. Also noting, there was no compromise/meet in the middle there in Simon deciding that he was willing to be a secret for Wille. It's just funny that Simon is getting the flack for not wanting to "compromise" or meet in the middle when in the end, Simon was willing to do exactly what Wille wanted and he gets ZERO credit from some people for that. Luckily Wilhelm sees what a sacrifice this is for Simon and does not leave Simon to sacrifice alone.
4. Boundaries protect the relationship, build trust and help relationships grow
If Simon had never stood his ground both in s1e6 and throughout s2 Wille would have likely continued the way he was going bc it was comfortable for him and he was understandably scared. They probably would have gotten in even more arguments and honestly i do not think Wille would have been forced to mature and consider Simons feelings in the way he eventually did. I know people resist Edvin calling Wille selfish but Simon has to constantly keep telling Wille “what about me? What about my family? Do you see how hard this is for me?” For some reason viewers are interpreting that as selfish ?? In a relationship you really should not have to be constantly reminding someone to consider you and your feelings.
Simon setting boundaries and saying what he wanted only made their relationship stronger even tho they had to take some time apart. Protecting yourself and wanting a healthy balanced relationship where your needs are considered as much as the other person’s is not selfish. And anyone who tells you that it is does not have your best intentions at heart. Simon is not saying his needs are MORE important than Wille’s he is saying that his needs matter TOO and are EQUALLY IMPORTANT to Wille’s. Which was the journey he needed to go on (as stated by his sister) and the journey that Wille needed to go on as well in order to create a healthy dynamic together.
Setting boundaries is hard but worth it in the end!!!
So yeah! I hope you all set some boundaries today or use this info to argue with simon antis 💖

Barty’s stomach flipped as Evan looked at him, stunned and stunning. Then the moment was broken and Evan turned his head to look at Dorcas who seemed to be fighting back a laugh. This was stupid fuck this was stupid.
“Did you know about this?”
Evan asked Dorcas who shook her head.
“First time I’ve heard about it.”
Stupid, STUPID. You’re so stupid Barty why would you go and say that. You should have said no when Marls suggested it, should have said no straight away.
“It’s um- to make a statement. Kiss on the stage to piss of Riddle but it’s fine you don’t have to-“
“It’s a good idea.”
Evan said quickly.
“Oh, yeah it was Marls’. Wouldn’t want to um…steal the credit.”
Wouldn’t want you to think that the idea of kissing you plays on repeat in my mind every second I’m awake.
“Yeah. I um- I want to. I think it would be good-“
Brilliant actually it would be fucking brilliant Rosier.
Barty amended Evan’s statement.
“To make a big statement.”
“Yeah.”
Yeah. Yeah what other reason would there be Barty? What were you hoping for? Pathetic isn’t it. The way you would gladly lick the crumbs left on his plate if he asked you to. He doesn’t want to kiss you, he wants to piss of homophobes. Don’t forget that.
It was in fact too late for Barty to not forget that because all that was ringing in his ears was ‘I want to. I want to.’ Because honestly Barty was going to kiss Evan. Maybe for the only time ever in his life. But he was going to. He’d never even thought it a possibility before.
•••
I figured out that this modern world is turning the wrong way round
There’s something about the way our bedsheets turn religion upside down
So we just have sex to solve all our problems
Let’s do it again
It had been Pandora’s idea for the kiss to happen during ‘cotton candy’ and everyone had immediately agreed. It was a stroke of genius really. Barty had originally thought it should take place in a love song, but that wasn’t what this kiss was about. This kiss was about the freedom, the liberation everyone deserved to be who they were, to test their limits and experiment and not be judged for being queer or straight or promiscuous or prudish. Cotton candy was just that. A call for sexual liberation, a call to stop demonising young people for living their lives.
And I wanna get stuck between your teeth like cotton candy
So you remember me darlin’
Barty turned his head to look at Evan. Their microphones were too far apart on separate sides of the stage, everyone hated it. He felt uncomfortable so far from Evan, they just performed better when they were up close together. The crowd had actually been pretty annoyed when they saw it at first. Still when he looked he saw Evan staring back at him. He cocked his head sideways, a silent, last minute ‘are you ready?’ Evan nodded.
Im losing myself in you
In you
In you
In you
In you
I know
Evan stopped playing the guitar and let it just hang around his neck as he took the microphone out of the stand. Barty watched him before taking his own mic out the stand too.
I’m losing myself in you
In you
In you
In you
In you
I know
They turned to face each other and Barty began to walk.
Leave me in the morning, although
I don’t wanna be on my own
They met somewhere in the middle of the stage and suddenly the scream of the crowd dulled and the music stopped and for a moment there was nothing except Evan. Evan Evan Evan. His eyes staring straight into Barty’s. The hushed sound of their soft harmonies. The warmth of his breath dusting Barty’s face as they pressed their foreheads together.
I’m losing myself in you
In you
In you
In you
In you
I know.
And they kissed. The crowd screamed. And suddenly the world was filled with colour even though Barty had his eyes screwed shut. Kissing Evan was like…fuck Barty was no wordsmith, Regulus and Pandora wrote their songs. But kissing Evan was everything. He tasted sweet and minty like the gum he’d chewed right before the show. His hand was warm and calloused and currently threaded through the hair at the base of Barty’s neck, tilting his head up just so.
The instrumental was over, they’d missed their cue. Barty didn’t care. They kept on kissing till the song faded to a close and even then kept going till the clap of the crowd died down. They softly broke away but Barty couldn’t hide the grin that broke onto his face. Evan just grinned right back.
***
AHHH YAY OK I LOVE THIS SONG CAN I JUST START BY SAYING THAT
Watch the music video for this song (cotton candy by YUNGBLUD)
LOOK AT THE SKIRT HE WEARS AND TELL ME BARTY WOULDNT WEAR THAT
Also what do we thinkkkkk they finally kissed!!!!!!
Ayyyyyy
ok stay tuned for the FIFTH and FINAL part (probs gonna be released tmrw hehe)
Also I’m probably gonna put this on ao3 btw, not gonna change it bc I don’t have the patience to properly lengthen it (at least rn, ig u never rlly know) but it’s just like if ppl want to bookmark it or reread or whatever it’ll probs be easier
ANYWAY LMK WHAT U THOUGHT

What if Luka expects Hyuna to come like she did in his round with Mizi and he is plotting something. He has the trust of aliens, the love of the public and no one would suspect him to do something outside the box,far from the image he created of himself.Hyuna made her appearence in round 5 when we didn't expected it. If the round isn't entirely dedicated to Ivan and Till, this may be an option. He may confront Mizi and Hyuna, they may not be able to rescue Ivan and Till and not make it in time. Luka may not appear at all.
(Me overthinking things: OMG Akugetsu will cover Hyuna's song this must mean something | The other me: OMG I can't wait, this song literally suits him!)
(I like the style of your drawings, the way you use colors and the way you phrase things! When something about ALNST comes out I just wait for your updates! I can't imagine what will happen on tumblr when round 6 is out. And then all of us will wait for the next one over again XD)
Till the end.
TILL... the end...
Ok this is the worst joke I could ever make.
Oohh. Luka appearing in ROUND 6 would honestly be insane. I thought about him making an appearance in the short teaser scene before credits, but if he actually confronted anyone himself that would be so interesting. Imagine all 6 of them in the same episode... the same room... no way... the Alien Stage would be real...
Luka attempting to sabotage Mizi and Hyuna is such an intriguing concept. I do think he's figured out that Hyuna will be returning, he grew up with her, after all. He's most likely aware of her penchant for protecting people. He probably expects Mizi to come back for the only friends she has left, too. He couldn't do anything the first time he saw Hyuna after ROUND 5, but he might be more eager to get his hands on her now. If we get our first adult Hyuna and Luka interaction during ROUND 6 I'd actually go insane. as much as I hope for it though, I'm not sure whether or not it will actually happen. ROUND 6 already has a lot going for it. A final confession of love already makes for a heavy episode, but with Till's newly revealed backstory added to the mix? Mizi and Hyuna's attempt at a jailbreak? The whole video would probably need an entire week to be processed and even comprehended, especially if they want to go into extensive detail on each aspect. Still, though, if Luka interfered... if Mizi and Hyuna were unable to save anyone and had to defeatedly return to the rebellion base carrying the weight of their failure, well, I DON'T THINK I'D BE REACHABLE FOR AT LEAST 10 BUSINESS DAYS I'd have to go into hiding in order to cope with that. But who knows! The fun part about VIVINOS videos is that they're always gonna leave you fucked up in one way or another!
AKUGETSU COVERING ALL-IN. TILL COVERING HYUNA'S SONG. I've posted so many times about this day holy shit its finally real. It really does suit him! Do you think AKUGETSU is
1) hinting that Till is joining the rebellion
or
2) giving us the All-In cover as compensation for whatever bad thing is going to happen to Till
(or a secret third thing: he literally just did it for fun and we've just gone insane.)
Ahh thank you so much for enjoying my stuff! I'm so happy, everyone's been really nice to me as of late and I don't know what to doooo hahaha I'm just really glad to share everyone's excitement for ALIEN STAGE :)
You wait for my updates??!! oh no I'm so sorry 😭 I'm quite late at times because I've had some stuff going on (I've barely said anything about the April Fools actor au 😭) but hopefully I'll be free to go absolutely nuts after the release of ROUND 6 tomorrow!! If you're ever in need of someone to scream about ROUND 6 with my inbox is always open!! Thank you for your kind words!!
Can't wait till I get to hear from you again! :)

Broken Hearts Football Club | Chapter 28
Previous chapter | Last chapter
Masterlist
Tumblr media
"They are literal scum. Posting this article the morning of our most important game so far? Disgusting" Leah said, leaving her phone on the table and laying on the bed next to June.
"Didn't expect anything less from them" she sighed.
"How are you?"
"Honestly? I don't know. They've published stuff about my relationships before, but…"
"But they've never done it about a relationship you truly care about. One that matters, one that you want, one with someone you love" Leah said.
"Yeah" June sighed again.
They had been caught. Someone had recognized her and Ben on their date at McDonald's, taking photos of them and sending them to the English press. And there was no way they could deny what was going on.
They had photos of them waiting to order, June's arms wrapped around Ben's neck while they kissed and laughed. They had photos of them eating together, smiling at each other. And they had photos of them leaving the restaurant, of Ben squeezing her butt and then hugging her and kissing her. That was couple behaviour, and it was impossible to deny it.
"What has your family said?"
"My dad said that now he understood why I had been looking so happy lately, and my mum that Ben is the most handsome young man she has ever seen and that she is gonna have the most beautiful grandchildren ever."
"No pressure there" Leah chuckled. "So they are ok with your relationship?"
"They are. They said that as long as I am happy, they are happy too."
"What about John?"
"He just worries about me wanting to run away and send to hell the best thing that has happened to me in ages and that isn't related to my career."
"But you aren't running away, are you?"
"The thought crossed my mind when I first saw the article" June said, biting her lip. "But, no, I'm not going anywhere. I… I love Ben. And I'm gonna fight for him. For us."
"Aww, Maxwell!" Leah said, hugging her friend. "You've said it aloud! Finally! I'm so proud of you."
"Yeah, whatever."
"No, this is not whatever, June. This is huge coming from you. This means you've healed, that your heart isn't broken anymore. Though it won't be 100% healed until you tell Chilly how you feel."
"He knows how I feel."
"But you haven't actually told him, have you?"
"Not really, no."
"Then maybe this is the moment to do it, you know? Now that everyone knows about your relationship, this may be the moment to tell him and reassure him that you aren't going anywhere."
"Maybe. But I don't know how to say it."
"It's just three words, Maxwell" Leah laughed.
"Yes, but the three most important words ever."
"I guess… Have you spoken with him yet?"
"We texted earlier after the article was published. He asked me if I was ok and about how my family had taken the news."
"What about his family?"
"His mum was like, oh, this is old news. I've known since I saw her at the hospital."
"She always was a clever woman" Leah chuckled. "Did you talk about anything else? Are you going to publish something on Instagram confirming it?"
"Nah. We agreed that what matters now is tonight's game, that I should focus on that and on showing those idiots who June Maxwell is, that their shit doesn't affect her."
"So you basically agreed on bringing back the June who likes to shut mouths with goals."
"Ben's favourite, yes" June chuckled.
"I like her a lot too. Though not as much as he does. Tough love he called it, right?"
"Yeah" she said, remembering everything that happened since that confession, how she and Ben had gone from not being able to stand the other and constantly arguing to… to being in love with each other and happier than ever.
"You know you have us all by your side right? The whole team" Leah said, taking June's hand in hers.
"I know, Williamson. Thank you" she smiled.
"Great. Then let's go kick some asses" Leah said, getting up from the bed with a quick jump. "I feel bad for those poor Chinese girls but… This is how it works. Are you ready, Maxwell?"
"Yes captain, my captain" June laughed, getting up from the bed and joining her.
━━━━━━❃━━━━━━
"What an extraordinary game of football" Andrew said.
"Definitely the best we've seen in this tournament so far" Jacob added.
"The way the girls played tonight has been just… Perfection. Look at those stats!"
"And they could have been even better if Sarina hadn't made all those changes after the 5th goal."
"And what a goal that last one was. What do you think, Chilly?" Andrew asked him.
"I think that it probably is the best goal of Lauren's career to the date."
"Agree" Jacob nodded.
"If you watch it since the moment the ball leaves Earp's foot, it just gets better and better."
"And when it gets to Maxwell… That pass was simply brilliant! And the way James controls the ball and kicks… Urgh, I love it."
"Looks like you've fallen in love with a goal, Andrew" Ben chuckled.
"I may have, yes" he laughed.
"Speaking of Maxwell's pass… Didn't it remind you of one of yours, Chilly? The one against United."
"It was similar, but hers is ten times better. She is a much better football player than I ever was or would have ever been" Ben smiled.
"Completely unbiased comment here" Jacob smirked.
"I'm known for always being unbiased when it comes to Maxwell " Ben shrugged before the three of them started to laugh. "Being serious again, tho… I think the character the girls showed today is worthy of respect. People from the outside tried to make them nervous, to make them fail, and they showed them what they are made of. That they are here to play football and win, and no one is gonna distract them from their goal no matter how hard they try."
"Yes! Our fierce lionesses!" Jacob said, lifting his fist in the air.
"We are very proud of you girls" Andrew said.
"All of you" Ben added, looking straight into the camera, hoping everyone back home got the message.
They could publish all the rubbish they wanted. He was sure of his feelings for June and of hers for him even if she hadn't said it just yet. And if there was someone who knew how to fight against people who talked shit, making the best of it, that was June Maxwell.

In all fairness, her dads did say they were going to be at The Hard Deck for a while, like well into the night. So she didn't think anything of it when she brought her boyfriend over to the house to hang out and maybe make out and take it a little too far.
Her boyfriend you may be wondering is none other than Mason Kolten Floyd, Bob's teenage son, they had been friends since diapers. At first, the thought of them two dating repealed each other and vowed to never get together. But that was when they were younger and thought all boys and girls had cooties. Now teenagers they absolutely have fallen in love with each and don't want to let the other go. Of course, it took a hot minute for them to realize that but everyone was hoping they would get together.
It was a Friday night meaning that it was soon to be the weekend and the Seresin-Bradshaw residence couldn't wait to sit back and relax. The Daggers were having their traditional meet at The Hard Deck leaving the kids behind and enjoying themselves. Y/N had just gotten home from school to find her Dad and Pops already at home and in the kitchen. When she walked in she set her backpack down and put her keys on the hook by the door. Bradley was the first one to turn around when he heard the door shut. "Hey, Honey!" He said excitedly which made Jake turn around.
"Hey, Sweets!" Jake said with the same excitement. They both came over to her and hugged her which she gladly accepted but couldn't help with a confused look on her face.
"Um hi?" She said but sounded more like a question. When she broke away from Bradley and they saw the look on her face it was a mixture of Bradley and Jake. "What are you doing home so early?" She asked moving further into the kitchen and swiping a piece of raw cookie dough from the bowl they gave her only parents give when their child does something they don't like. Jake and Bradley walked over and Bradley took the bowl and set it away from his daughter. She just gave the signature Seresin smirk and moved to jump onto the counter and again her parents gave her another look like she was not supposed to do that but they let it pass.
"We will be going out to The Hard Deck tonight for the traditional Friday meet-up with the other Daggers so you're on your own for supper. I hope that's ok." Jake said and she nodded of course that was ok with her that meant that she could eat whatever she wanted and that included fast food.
"Yea that is perfectly fine." She said nodding enthusiastically. The parents already knew what she was going to get and they were ok with it every now and then but just not all the time. But they're going to have a talk with Slider about getting their little girl addicted to McDonald's.
"But to make up for us not being here. I'm making mom's famous cookies." Bradley said as he finished mixing the dough and started to spoon it out. She tried to sneak another bite but he smacked her hand away and gave her the look, she knew the look, but she looked him right in the eye and stole more. She just smirked while doing so.
"What time are you meeting them there?" She asked as Jake passed her some grapes that he was eating.
"Leaving at 7 and will be out for well into the night probably." Bradley said picking up some grapes after he had put the cookies in. "Now off the counter." He said and she rolled her eyes but got off anyways.
"Well, I'm gonna start homework and figure out what I'm gonna do with the house to myself." She said grabbed her backpack and headed off upstairs. She knew what she was going to do but couldn't let them know that. The truth is that she was going to bring Mason over to watch a movie or two, eat junk food, and fool around.
While she was upstairs Bradley and Jake were getting the cookies out. They were being the overbearingly cute couple. If Y/N had seen it she would've faked gagged and they would've laughed. When 6:50 PM rolled around they called her down. "Y/N!" Bradley yelled and that had her practically tumbling down the stairs.
"Yea? Yes? I'm here." She said as Jake caught her before she fell. They chuckled.
"We're leaving. Cookies are on the cooling rack." Bradley said as he was putting on shoes and grabbing keys as Jake put on his shoes too.
"Remember if you need us call and we'll be home in just a matter of seconds. If you can't get a hold of any of us call The Hard Deck or Penny." Jake said standing up.
"You got it, Pops." She said and they came over and kissed her on the forehead and exchanged 'I love you' and they were off. She stood at the window and watched as they were just out of view when she texted Mason.
Dad and Pops are gone. Want to come over?
He replied in just a few seconds.
Mason: You know I do. Want me to get McDonald's?
She smiled
You know I do.
Mason: Be there in a few minutes. Your regular?
She smiled again
You're the best boyfriend ever.
Mason: Well, you're the best girlfriend ever.
She smiled he was truly the best boyfriend ever, but then again Bob was his father so what do you expect? She had moved to the couch when she started texting him.
Some boring TV show was playing in the background while she waited. When she heard the distinct sound of Mason's F-150 pull into the driveway. She jumped up and ran to the door and opened and saw him get out with the food. Mason closed the door and turned and smiled at his girlfriend. He shut the door and walked over to her and kissed her and she kissed him back. They walked in and went to the couch and began eating while they put on a movie. They were cuddled into each other and eating. They laughed and made comments throughout the movie.
8 PM rolled around and they were into their second movie. The movie playing was more intimate than the other. They came up to a steamy scene in the movie and they looked at each other and started to lean in until they were kissing. Mason took off his sweatshirt he had on and threw onto the ground.
Mason had moved Y/N until she was lying on the couch and he was on top of her. Her arms were still around his neck and he was kissing her neck. One of his hands found its way under her shirt and bra to her breast and the other was on her waist. They heard Y/N's phone buzz but they ignored it and continued. Mason moved from kissing her to kissing her neck and she turned to give him access. Slight moaning was coming from her. One of Y/N's hands moved down to his clothed dick and started to slowly stroke it. They were so wrapped up in a heavy make-out session they didn't hear Bradley's Bronco pull up and the engine shutting off or the door opening and closing.
Mason and Y/N didn't know they had company until Jake's voice boomed into the room. "What is going on in here?!" He shouted and that had both teenagers pulling away and jumping up. Any sort of sexual feelings they had quickly died out. It was only 10 PM, what were they doing at home when they were supposed to be out at The Hard Deck for well into the night? Their hair was a mess, their clothes were wrinkled and their faces were flushed.
"Pops? Dad? What are you doing home?" She asked.
"We decided to cut it short because the power went out at The Hard Deck." Bradley said being the in-control parent while Jake freaked out. Of course, Bradley was freaking out his baby was growing up but he knew it was bound to happen.
"You didn't answer my question." Jake said crossing his arms and looking at Bradley who had an expressionless look on his face. Both teenagers were silent they didn't know what to say.
"It's not what it looks like Pops." She said
"It looks like our little girl was just about to have sex on our couch with her boyfriend." Jake said.
"Ok, so it is what it looks like." She said Mason had been quiet. He was just hoping that a black hole would open and swallow him up. Jake threw his hands up in the air and rolled his eyes and had an exasperated look on his face. He turned to his husband.
"Are you not going to say anything?" Jake asked him and Bradley just stood there with his hands on his hips. He sighed and hung his head and then pulled Jake into the guest bedroom. Mason and Y/N just looked at each other and decided to sit down on the couch they held hands and waited.
Jake was pacing around the room while Bradley leaned upon the closed door and watched. "Why are you not freaking out?" He asked stopping to look at Bradley.
"Oh trust me I am. But having both of us freaking out isn't going to help the situation. To be honest you tend to freak out more." Bradley said walking to his husband and taking his hands and leading him to the bed.
"But Bradley. Our daughter, our little girl was just about to have sex with her boyfriend. Bob's son." Jake said still freaking out.
"Yes Jake I know. But I trust our little girl to make the right choices. We raised her well. Our daughter is smart." Bradley said and caressed Jake's face and he leaned into the touch. "Now let's go out there and talk to them with clear heads. Ok?" Bradley asked and Jake nodded.
"Ok. I'm good." He said and they kissed and headed out to the two teenagers. When they got out the TV was off and the living room was clean and the two teens were sitting on the couch. Y/N had put on Mason's sweatshirt which was a little big on her. They looked up at the two men. "We talked. I want to say sorry for freaking out on you." Jake said and they nodded.
"We know you're growing up and having these feelings that you may not understand yet. When you do decide to act on these feelings please come to us or Bob. We just want you to be safe. You're a smart girl and boy and know you were raised right." Bradley said being the calm, cool, and collected parent.
"We want to be grandparents but we don't want to be grandparents just yet." Jake added and everyone chuckled about it. "It's getting late. Mason why don't you go and call Bob and let him know you're staying here tonight since it's late." Jake said and he nodded and headed off outside to the backyard.
"I'm really sorry Pops and Dad." She said looking down Jake sat down beside her and Bradley kneeled in fron of her.
"Nothing to apologize for. We were 16 once and we get it. Just please come to us before you do anything. Goose and Momma Carole would be too thrilled about being great-grandparents but they would spoil the hell out of the baby but they would want you to wait too." Jake's said.
"Just like they spoiled you. We really do want grandchildren but not until you are in your 30s." Bradley said and you all chuckled again. They hugged and she knew she could count on them for anything at any time. Y/N loved her Dad and Pops and nothing is going to change that.

“Who the fuck else is out here, Pope?”
“No one,” Santiago sweeps the clearing in a quick circle, butt of his gun still dug into his shoulder, “no one else is supposed to be out here.”
Things hadn’t gone sideways and he hadn’t called anyone in.
And yet the mark stares back at him through lifeless eyes the same color as the leaflitter he threatens to stain red.
“Well,” Frankie gestures vaguely where he’s knelt down next to the still-warm body. “This ain’t local.”
The high-caliber bullet that blew out the back of the man’s skull is most assuredly not Nicaraguan-made.
“We have to move, Fish,” Santi says before letting out a sharp whistle. A signal to the men holding the perimeter to circle up.
“Nah, if whoever did this wanted us dead…” He lets the words hang in humid jungle air, propping the brim of his cap up just far enough to swipe damp hair from his forehead. “The angle of it’s weird though,” Frankie cants big dark eyes up into the trees even though that makes no goddamn sense.
The men have moved in by now and one of them lets out a low hiss.
“El Caucel.”
“Crees eso?” Santiago's gaze cuts towards him and then over at two other men nodding in agreement.
Two more from their team had departed towards the trucks the moment they saw the carnage.
Frankie stands upright with knitted brows before finding Santiago’s gaze.
He’s met with an imperceptible shake of the head.
And so he doesn’t open his mouth again until they’re back in their hotel room.
_____
“You got an explanation for that, Pope?”
“Not a good one.” Santi sits on the edge of a twin bed and unlaces his boots before toeing them off and flopping backwards.
Frankie stays standing, hands on his hips.
“Someone’s out there with high-caliber shit we didn’t even have as Deltas and that’s all you have to say.”
“That’s all I fuckin’ know, Fish. Look, at least we’re on the same side, ok? For now we’re on the same side. Fuck, I need a shower.”
He’s on his feet now. Clearly rattled.
“What’s El Caucel? A group? Where’d they get that kind of heat?”
“I don’t know, Fish. I don’t know if El Caucel is one guy or five…”
Santi doesn’t realize it but he’s pacing the room.
He’s useless like this.
“Go take a fuckin’ shower, Pope.”
“I need a fucking beer.”
_____
Frankie doesn’t speak again until they’re both perched on plastic chairs at the back of an open-air bar, cumbia blaring through tired but persistent speakers, waves lapping at the shore nearly on beat.
“I don’t like it, Pope," he mutters after a sip of beer. "I don’t like that people we don’t know, using shit that we don’t have, know the same things we do," each point punctuated by a finger stabbed into the table.
“They’re after the same people that we are, Fish. We were fifteen minutes late, more than likely that was our backup. I have a call out to my guy, but he’s out of pocket until tomorrow. Can we at least just leave it at that for the night?”
Somehow Santiago’s nerves aren’t as frayed as they were an hour ago.
“This isn’t what I signed up for, Pope.”
“You signed up to kill bad men and get paid, Fish. A bad man is dead today and I don’t know if you took a look at your bank account, but it’s $25K heavier than it was this morning.”
“We didn’t pull that trigger.”
“Take the fuckin’ win, Catfish.”
It's low out of Santiago's mouth. Like an order.
Frankie doesn’t run like this. Not with unknown eyes on them. And he doesn’t take money for jobs he didn’t finish. He agreed not to ask who was bankrolling this little excursion, he trusted Santi’s judgment enough for that, but things were starting to fall out of alignment.
The last time that happened they lost someone.
He doesn’t like how fucking cool Santi is right now either.
And Santiago pipes up as though he can hear the gears in Fish's head gnashing against one another. “Look, Fish. You’ve got a cold beer, the Caribbean fuckin’ Ocean right there, you’re in a beautiful tropical country instead of freezing your balls off in the middle of bum-fuck nowhere in February..."
"...There are hot girls in this bar.”
“Pope.”
“Do you trust me, Fish?”
Dark eyes lock over the table, Frankie searching for something Santi won’t give away. It takes at least a minute for the tight line of Fish’s mouth to soften into his usual pout.
“It’s a sea.”
“What?” Santi swallows a mouthful of beer.
“The Caribbean Sea.”
“Right, fuckin’, okay.” Santi grins. “The goddamn Caribbean Sea. Just enjoy it, Catfish.”
It’s not a good enough explanation, not by a fucking long shot, but he hates admitting that Santi is right. For the next few hours, there’s nothing they can do.
And for a moment, Corona and lime on his tongue and the thought of $25K in his bank account makes him ignore the insistent scratching in the back of his brain.
Dark eyes sail over Santi’s shoulder and happen to land on a woman reading in the corner, all brown skin and black curls that skim the tops of her shoulders. He can't help but notice the way she's left a few buttons on her linen shirt open.
Can't help but notice the way it allows the curve of one breast to peek out when she reaches for her drink.
“I saw her first.” Santi knows exactly where he’s looking.
“I wouldn’t, actually,” Frankie attempts to clarify, but his half-hard cock says otherwise.
“I would.”
“We’re sharing a room, Pope.”
“I’ll put a sock on the doorknob. Plus there was Bogotá that one time,” Santi arches a brow and grins before draining the rest of his beer.
Bogotá that one time and a blonde between the two of them.
There’s more space than you'd think on a twin bed.
“With $25K you can get your own goddamn room.” Fish quips.
Bogotá was before his girl. Before his kid.
“So could you. Honestly. I think you need it, Francisco. Come on, what happens in Nicaragua…”
“Nah, I’m…”
“Yeah, you need it. I’m doin’ it.”
Pope is out of his chair before Fish can bite back.
"Fuckin’ idiot," Frankie mutters under his breath and directs his gaze out to sea.
“Excuse me, miss?” Santiago purrs in Spanish, leaning over the woman’s table, his most disarming smile playing on his lips.
She angles huge green eyes up from her book and waits for Santi to continue.
“My friend over there,” Santi nods his head in Frankie’s direction. “Thinks you look like you could use a refill.”
“Your friend, or you?” She answers in the same tongue.
Santi’s teeth catch on his bottom lip.
“Myee, my uh, my friend.” Santi slips in English. “Mi amigo.”
Freud would have loved that one.
The woman sets her book aside and reaches for a packet of cigarettes, eyes cutting over to Frankie as she taps the top of the box on the table. He's lit up by red and yellow light and staring out across sand.
Plush lips wrapped around the mouth of his beer bottle, wishing the ocean would come crashing through this fuckin’ bar.
“What’s your friend’s name?”
“Freddie.”
“Tell Freddie I’ll take a gin and soda with lime, but only if he does his dirty work himself and sits down here with me.” She lights up a cigarette. “I suppose you can stay too.”
Santi lets out a sharp whistle that has Frankie on higher alert than he’d care to admit.
“Gin and soda,” Santi calls over his shoulder. “What’s your name, sweetheart?”
“Arabela,” she tosses the packet on top of her book.
“Sam,” Santi offers his hand and she takes it, surprised when Santi presses his lips to her knuckles.
Surprised in a turned-off way.
"What are you reading?"
She lifts the packet of Parliaments so he can glance at the title.
The Living Daylights.
"You like spy novels?"
"I think they're funny."
Frankie appears at last, two fresh beers, one gin, and three shots of tequila balanced easily between two massive hands.
The tequila was an impulse but he needs something stronger than Corona if this is Bogotá Round Two.
Which apparently it became the moment Frankie stood up from his seat.
“Freddie, this is Arabela.”
“Mucho gusto.” Frankie’s hand is shy.
All of Frankie is shy.
“I do speak English, if that’s more comfortable.”
“An American.” Santi perks up. “Where are you from, sweetheart?”
“Florida.”
“Ahh, Texas,” he jabs a thumb towards Frankie and then his own chest “and Miami. What part of Florida?”
“Orlando.”
Jesus this is boring.
_____
She actually just showed up here for dinner and a buzz because it was five minutes down the beach from her hotel. A function of convenience, nothing more.
And now with dinner over, she finds herself in need of another gin.
She’s up at the bar when two more men wander in. Not locals but not uncomfortable here either. Military, past or present, from the sound of their boots on the wood planks.
She quickly steals a glance over her shoulder. Military boys aren’t uncommon down here, and frankly not particularly interesting, but these two aren’t standard issue.
One of them looks like a good time and the other looks like trouble.
Trouble slips into a plastic chair at a table in the corner, choosing the seat that allows him to face the door. Good Time on the other hand is skating dark eyes over her bare legs.
She runs the top of one foot over her calf just for kicks as the bartender hands over fresh gin, and turns to leave the very moment that Good Time sidles up.
God it’s too easy.
She’s not here for this tonight.
But it’s been three, or was it four, months and she’s not opposed to it either.
Trouble is heated about something when his friend returns with beers.
He’s cute.
Not in a classically handsome way, his friend has that in spades.
Cocksure, chiseled jaw, perfectly coiffed hair.
No, Trouble is cute in a wound spring kind of way.
The kind of way that looks absolutely beautiful coming wildly undone.
What the fuck is in this gin tonight.
Ten minutes later when Good Time struts over, she decides she definitely isn't opposed.
_____
“What are you doing down here, baby girl?”
“Vacation. Just needed a break from work, I guess.”
Her phone buzzes face-down on the table and Santi Sam laughs.
“I like your phone case,” he grins as he pulls an identical one from his pocket.
Jesus Christ its a regular fucking Amazon phone case, how do we move this along.
“So what are you boys up to?”
He’s probably going to say something stupid like…
“Just appreciating the scenery.”
Yeah.
She checks her watch. It’s barely gone 19:30, she could still have a perfectly enjoyable night on her own.
Nope.
“Look,” she leans over the table as Good Time leans in and Trouble leans back, “I’m sure that works on someone else, but today’s not your day.”
Santi braces for the crash.
“You didn’t come over here just to chat and I’m more than happy to save all of us the grief. What’s on the table?”
“Both of us.”
No one at the table was expecting Frankie to be the one to speak up.
Pope shoots Frankie a look that swims with ‘hadn’t expected but not opposed...’
“If that’s what you want.” Frankie rumbles, arm draped over the back of his chair.
Trouble.
Something searing and unspoken in a language that Pope doesn’t understand passes between them.
“What’s your word, sweetheart?” He continues with the barest nod of his head in her direction, eyes dark. And starved.
 “Bogotá.”
She hadn’t overheard them. There’s no way she could have with the music in this place.
And Frankie throws back his tequila because Frankie's not a man to question the Universe when it hands him something.
“Close the tabs,” a firm hand squeezes Santi’s shoulder as Fish stands. “Hers and ours. You. With me.”
Her with him finds them both outside, her back against the wall of the bar, cigarette nestled between her fingers, Frankie close enough that the heat coming off of him sets her nerves tingling.
He hasn’t laid a hand on her yet. One’s braced on the wall near her head, the other on his hip.
He’s angled such that she has room to slip away.
“Are you sure you want this? You can leave right now and I’ll get him out of here and we’ll pretend we never met.”
Dark eyes track the fingers that bring the cigarette to her lips.
“Is that what you want?”
“I didn’t ask about me,” he rumbles, shifting slightly closer and answering her question with his form.
“Right now,” she tilts her head to blow smoke away from him, “there’s nothing I want more.”
Frankie reaches for her cigarette, freely offered, taking a puff before he dashes it out. His fingers move to trail feather-light across her collarbone and over the buttons of her shirt nudging it open a hair.
He glances back up at her eyes and then her lips, plush and parted and waiting, and Frankie decides he can't wait any longer.
He slides the brim of his cap around backwards as his hand slides up her neck, thumb brushing her bottom lip before he replaces it with his mouth.
When Pope breezes through the door, Frankie nabs him by the back of the shirt, tongue never leaving her mouth. He pulls, slamming Santi against the wall before tearing himself away and taking a step back. His thumb comes up to brush the corner of his mouth, surveying them both.
Her dark hair is wild from his greedy fists, lips and chin reddened from his attention.
Santiago’s eyelids are heavy as he stares back.
“You started without me.” It’s restrained, darkly matter-of-fact. She reaches her hand over to wrap around the back of Pope’s neck and guides him to her, tasting his bottom lip and then his tongue. She slants half-closed eyes over to hold Frankie’s stare as she moans into Pope’s mouth.
Frankie nearly reaches out to rip her away.
“We gotta go,” is what he opts for instead.
_____
Not five minutes later, Santi’s back is pressed against the door to their hotel room. Her back is pressed to his chest. And Frankie is on his knees in front of her, nose pressed into the crotch of her cargo shorts.
Santi’s lips skate up the side of her neck as his hands splay across her stomach under her shirt, hips already searching for friction. She reaches back intending to slip her phone and card holder out of the back pockets of her shorts out of the need to feel Pope there unimpeded, pressed flush against her. He catches on, taking them both from her hands and placing them on the side table, fingertips bypassing two layers of cotton to slip just under the waistband of her underwear. He pulls her back against him by her hipbones, grinding the hardness in his jeans against the curve of her ass and she whimpers at the way it puts her just out of reach of Frankie's mouth.
Frankie pulls his shirt off up over his head, taking his backwards cap with it, and tossing them both over his shoulder into the room. He stands to occupy her mouth with his own while Pope unbuttons his shirt and lands it over the luggage rack. Santi meets Frankie’s eyes over her shoulder and nods. Fish breaks the kiss as Pope’s hands pull her against his chest once more.
She leaves one hand on Frankie’s cheek and reaches the other up to tangle in Santiago’s hair.
“We’re gonna take such good care of you, baby,” Santiago purrs into her ear. “So fucking beautiful,” he continues, mouth hot on her neck.
Frankie watches for a moment, taking in the way her plush lips are parted before he’s on his knees again.
He needs to be here. Needs to feel the heat of her on his face. Needs to get rid of this fucking fabric.
“I’m gonna hold you right here,” Santiago purrs, skating his nose over the shell of her ear, “and he’s gonna eat that pretty pussy of yours,” one hand rides further up her stomach under her shirt, “because that’s his favorite thing in the world.”
Frankie can feel goosebumps appear where he’s stroking his palms over her calves, lips tracing the chill up her thighs.
“Would you like that, pretty girl?” Santi voice is a heady whisper now, and her head falls back into the crook of his shoulder as she hums in approval.
“Need to hear you say it, baby,” Frankie murmurs against her skin.
“God, yes,” she moans and immediately Santi’s mouth finds hers, fingers making quick work of the button on her shorts. Frankie helps her out of her sandals and Pope unzips her, thumbs sliding the fabric down over her hips, passing the task off to Frankie’s fingers to take the rest of the way before moving to do the same with her underwear.
“Leave it,” Frankie bats Pope’s hands away, settling one of his own against the curve of her hip, running the other up over the back of one thigh before breathing heat against her mound. She reflexively cants her hips back against Pope’s and he hears the phone in his back pocket knock against the door before it’s tossed carelessly along with his wallet to join hers on the side table. She runs one hand over Frankie’s forearm, fingers of the other still wound in Santi’s hair.
Plush lips trace the seams of her underwear, falling everywhere but where she wants them.
And so she reaches both hands down, tangling fingers in his soft curls, short nails impatiently scraping at his scalp and she feels him smirk against her inner thigh.
Frankie hooks a hand around the back of her knee, guiding her leg over his shoulder.
“Hold her, Pope.”
Santi’s arm hooks firmly around her ribcage.
She spares a thought for the use of a call sign before suddenly there’s pressure and damp, open-mouthed heat breathed against the sodden cotton covering her core. The leg that’s still on the ground buckles, but Santiago holds her firm, grinning against her mouth.
They work well together, these two.
Frankie’s tongue traces the contours of her folds through the fabric, humming with pleasure at what little taste of her he’s able to get at. He can already tell from the feel of this alone that she’s bare below the cotton and his cock jumps at the thought.
And his cock jumps again at the thought of sharing the thought.
“Pretty girl?” Frankie rumbles, teeth catching gently against her mound as he angles his eyes up at her. “If I were to take these off…” he hooks a finger through the waistband of her panties and lets it snap against her flushed skin.
“I wouldn’t find anything under there, would I?”
He pauses and Santiago feels her grin against his mouth.
“I don’t think you would, Fish.”
“No, I think,” the bridge of his nose bumps against her clit just so and she groans against Santi’s lips. “I think you’re completely bare under here.” He inhales deep and her fingers tighten in his curls. “All of that smooth…soft…skin.” Each word punctuated by a kiss before he sucks, open mouthed against the core of her.
Pope has to hold her again.
Santi’s free hand skates up to palm her right shoulder where cream linen has fallen open before slipping his fingers under the strap of her bra, guiding it down her arm.
And Santiago’s not so much in control so much as he’s just the one they let speak.
“Is he good, princesa?” Santi asks against her lips in the lowest register of his voice. “Does his mouth feel good on you?” Santiago reaches down over her collarbone, under her shirt and bra to palm her breast, one arm still firmly locked around her ribcage.
“Fuck,” she gasps, “so good.”
Frankie hums his thanks and moves a little higher to flick his tongue over her clit. He dwells here a while, alternating light and fast with the tip of his tongue with slower, firmer strokes with the flat of it. The cotton of her thong is soaked from her slick and his mouth, and it’s not long before she turns her lips away from Santiago, panting and moaning in time with Frankie’s flicks.
“She’s close, Fish,” Pope breathes against her pulse.
“Mmm hmm,” he hums, the rumble of it causing her to buck her hips against him. Frankie lets go from where strong fingers have been digging into the thigh over his shoulder and brings his hand to her hip, both palms now holding her firm against Santi.
She can feel how hard he is through the denim that scratches against the curve of her ass. How it's taking all of Santiago's control not to grind against her there. Not to send her knocking against Fish's teeth.
Neither of these men have actually put skin against anything that matters, and yet she’s falling apart between them.
No sooner does the thought cross her mind than Frankie hooks a thumb into the crotch of her thong, pulling the gusset to the side.
He hums deep and low because he was right.
He’s just about to lick a stripe through her glistening folds when a clattering buzz rings out into the room.
All three of them startle.
Santi spares a glance down at the side table where the offending phone is casting blue light into the room.
His contact’s number.
“Fuuck,” he growls, “I gotta get this. Take her to bed, Fish.” Frankie lets her leg down from his shoulder, “and don’t you fucking dare make her come without me.”
“No promises,” he mumbles between kisses, allowing her to move him until the backs of his knees hit the edge of the bed. He sits and she straddles his hips and he bucks up against her, telegraphing what's on offer.
She presses her forehead against his as he fights to nip at her jaw, cursing softy at the feel of him before her fingers scramble to unzip his jeans.
Frankie grins, arm wrapping tight around her waist, and grinds his crotch against her heat as Santi picks up the phone.
“Hey honey, I uh...I can’t really talk right now,” Santi’s voice rings out from the hallway as if he wasn’t half naked and panting.
She props herself up briefly without breaking Frankie’s kisses in an effort to quiet the moans that he can’t seem to keep in his throat. He runs his palms down her sides to fit on her hips and pull but she’s strong.
“Santiago? Well, now that’s interesting.”
“How...how's that, babe, you called me?”
“Santiago, this isn’t your phone.”
And Santiago's blood runs cold.

Bitter Dislikement
I actually got inspired to write this while writing Another Member Dislikes You, so if one part seems very familiar it’s because it is lol.
Oh Seungmin and Kim Jungsu
Summary:Seungmin was your boyfriend and his member Jungsu didn’t like you, or so you thought.
WC:2.2k
Warning:grammar, bit more angsty than I thought it would be.
Tumblr media
photo not mine credits to owner.
Seungmin was sure that introducing you to his members would be a simple thing. He couldn’t foresee any reason why something would go wrong. He loved you and they would too. At least that’s what Seungmin thought. He was right, the member seemed to click with you right away. You attentively listen to whatever story Gunil was telling. If anyone saw you and Jiseok and Jooyeon playing games together they probably would have thought that you’ve been friends for years. Even Hyeongjun and you were having conversations with minimal awkwardness. Everything appeared to be going smoothly. However, that was until it came to Jungsu. He was polite and exchanged a simple greeting with you, but after that he seemed to be a little cold towards you. Whenever you tried to have a conversation with him his answers were short and he didn’t seem like he was interested in talking to you, so you strayed away from him.
“Was Jungsu feeling a bit tired today or something?” you asked Seungmin as he was walking you back home.
“I don’t think so, why?” Seungmin responds, turning to look at you.
“I just thought he seemed a bit tired when we were talking, that's all,” you say, trying not to make a big deal of it.
“You know now that you say that he did seem to be keeping to himself. He probably was a bit tired,” Seungmin states. You tried to brush off the uneasiness you felt. Seungmin just confirmed it, Jungsu was probably just tired. There was no need for you to overthink things.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now, maybe you should overthink things. You’re currently in one of the practice rooms with Xdinary Heroes waiting for them to finish up. At first you told Seungmin that you would just wait outside, but he insisted for you to wait inside. It’s your third time interacting with Jungsu and he’s still just as cold. It’s not like he’s mean to you though. He’s just…civil with you. If you talk to him he responds back, but he never seems inclined about conversing with you. This leads to you and Jungsu having an odd, avoiding without actually avoiding each other, relationship. There was a sensible rift between the two of you.
Jungsu doesn’t like you and you're not sure what to do about it. You know that you didn’t do anything to him, but there must be a reason for why he’s acting this way. You don’t want to concern Seungmin about it either, because it might put him in an awkward situation. You suppose that you should try talking to Jungsu about it, although getting him alone to do that may prove to be difficult.
“Hey you ok?” Seungmin checks on you, breaking you from your thoughts.
“Yeah, I was just thinking about work,” a bitter taste landed on your tongue.
“Aw, is it giving you a hard time?” Seungmin questions, eyes filled with concern.
“Just a little stressful lately, but it’s nothing that serious,” you provided a fake smile. The bitter taste in your mouth growing stronger. You hated lying to Seungmin, but you didn’t know how to tell him the truth either.
“My poor baby,” he pulls you into a hug. You wrap your arms back around him, heart feeling heavy. You look over his shoulder only to lock eyes with Jungsu. You guys hold gazes for a moment before he quickly turns away. Jungsu’s face was unreadable. Weird. You think.
“Thanks, you ready to go?” You asked Seungmin, pulling away from the hug. He nodded, grabbing your hand and exiting the practice room. You turn your head back one last time when the other members call out their goodbyes. You call out your own goodbye, offering a wave as well. Just before you turn your head back around, your eyes lock with Jungsu’s once more. Again his face is unreadable and this time you're the one to turn away. You really need to talk to Jungsu.
Today is the day that you're going to bite the bullet and talk to Jungsu, or at least try to. Seungmin invited you to the studio to hear some of the songs he’s been working on. If luck was on your side you hoped you would be able to catch a moment to talk to Jungsu. It seemed like luck was on your side because you caught Jungsu walking by the studio room, through the glass window slit in the door.
“My colleague is asking me about work. I’m gonna step out and call them quickly,” you told Seungmin while holding up your phone. That bitter taste returned to your mouth again.
“Ok, take your time,” he smiled sweetly at you and it only made your heart weigh heavy. You stepped out of the studio.
“Jungsu!” You called out to him and you hurried to catch up with him in the hallway. Jungsu stopped walking, turning around to face your direction. “Can we talk?” you hesitantly asked, fiddling with your hands.
“About what?” He plainly countered.
“...Nevermind,” you backed out. Things between you weren’t that bad anyway. You were both civil, so that’s enough right? Jungsu sighed.
“I didn’t say no. I just asked about what y/n,” Jungsu tells. His voice is gentler now.
“Why do you hate me?” You questioned, unable to meet his gaze.
“Let’s not talk about this in the hallway. Follow me,” he states, beginning to walk again. You trail behind him. He led you to an empty studio and motioned for you to enter. You walked in and sat down in a chair. Jungsu sat in the chair next to yours.
“I don’t actually hate you,” Jungsu revealed. You finally looked up at him after hearing his words.
“Then why do you act so…cold towards me?” You pondered. Jungsu let’s out another sigh. Seemingly trying to gather his thoughts before responding.
“I’m sorry,” he starts. “I didn’t mean to make you think that I hate you. I just….” Jungsu trails off.
“You don’t have to tell me. I feel better knowing that you don’t hate me, so let’s just-”
“I like you,” Jungsu cuts you off mid sentence. “I like you, but your Seungmin’s girlfriend and I could never do anything that would hurt Seungmin. I thought if I just distanced myself from you that these feelings would go away, but it’s been months and I still like you. I feel jealous when I see you two being coupley. Anytime Seungmin talks about how much he loves you I feel so guilty. I’m so sorry,” Jungsu breaks down tears spilling from his eyes. The information is a massive shock to you, but comforting Jungsu seems more important right now.
“Jungsu it’s ok. You didn’t do anything wrong, it’s not your fault,” you grabbed some tissues, walking over to Jungsu. You hesitated a bit before letting one hand rub his back. You handed him the tissues with the other. “I’m sorry too,” you told him.
“You have nothing to be sorry about y/n. I’m the one who caused this,” he tells you, wiping his tears.  “Please don’t tell Seungmin. I don’t want him to feel bad,” Jungsu pleaded. There’s at least one thing you and Jungsu have in common, worrying about Seungmin’s feelings.
“I won’t, I won’t tell him, so don’t worry. Let’s just keep things civil between us ok?” You reassured him. The bitter taste on your tongue is there again and stronger than previously. Maybe you should just get used to it. Jungsu nodded his head in agreement. “I’ll get going now then,” you said.
“Yeah, yeah you should,” Jungsu responded. You feel bad for leaving when he’s still upset, but you’re part of the reason why he is upset, so it’s probably for the best that you leave. On the walk back to the practice studio where Seungmin was, you felt numb. Jungsu didn’t hate you, he liked you and he’s been beating himself up about it for months. You arrived back in the studio.
“Sorry that took longer than I thought,” you said upon entering.
“It’s ok I’m glad you’re back, I missed you,” Seungmin said, opening his arms. He can tell that something is off, but he brushes it off thinking that it was probably something work related.
“I was gone for what? Ten minutes?” You laughed as you walked into his arms. The bitterness still hasn’t left your tongue.
“I missed you the second you walked out the door,” Seungmin stated, readjusting his grip around your waist.
“How cheesy,” you sassed lightheartedly, quite contrary to how your heart actually felt.
“You like it though,” he retorted.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Agreeing to keep things civil may not be working the best as you and Jungsu thought it would. The members were beginning to pick up on the uneasy tension between the two of you.
“Gunil asked me if you and Jungsu had a fight,” Seungmin brought up. The two of you were eating dinner together at your place.
“What?” You questioned. Thinking that feigning ignorance would be the best option.
“He said that there’s this weird tension between you guys and I’ve noticed it too,” Seungmin explained.
“Weird tension?” You laugh slightly. “You know me and Jungsu aren’t the closest, that's all. I guess we still feel a bit awkward around one another,” you answered, hoping Seungmin wouldn’t ask anymore questions.
“Maybe you two should try talking more then,” he suggested. We already talked and I think it made things worse. You thought to yourself.
“Yeah maybe we should,” you agreed. Once more that bitter taste filled your mouth.
After a few more weeks of things between you and Jungsu not changing, it seems like Seungmin had enough and decided to take matters into his own hand. He invited you over to their dorm. That’s how you found yourself seated at the kitchen table across from Jungsu, Seungmin on your right side.
“What exactly is the issue between the two of you?” Seungmin tentatively brings up. You and Jungsu exchange a look at one another.
“Some people just don’t get along,” Jungsu states.
“Me and Jungsu are two of those people,” you noted.
“Look Seungmin, we wished we got along too. We’ve even talked about it before,” Jungsu revealed.
“You have?” Seungmin questions. He never knew you talked to Jungsu about it.
“Yes, we came to the conclusion that we’re just oil and water, we don’t mix. We don’t have any ill feelings towards each other though,” you informed.
“Yeah we’re…..neutral,” Jungsu states. Now there’s a doubt in Sungmin's mind that there is something the two of you aren’t telling him, but he’ll leave it be.
“When did you and Jungsu talk?” Seungmin questioned you. He wanted to leave things be, but there was this feeling in his stomach that he couldn’t shake. He asked you about when you two were laying in bed ready to go to sleep. Your heart drops. How were you supposed to answer? Your mouth began to feel overwhelmingly bitter. You sighed, deciding to just tell the truth. You sat up in bed facing Seungmin. He sat up too mirroring you.
“That day you invited me to hear the songs you were working on,” you paused before continuing. “I had a feeling that Jungsu didn’t like me since the first day you introduced me. That’s why I asked if Jungsu was tired, cause I thought I was just overthinking, but the way he acted towards me didn’t change. I didn’t want to not get along with your bandmate. I thought that it could put you in an awkward position if we didn’t get along, so I decided that I would talk to him and sort it out. That day I didn’t call my colleague. I saw Jungsu walk by, so I went to confront him. Then we talked,” you came clean. The bitter taste finally left your mouth.
“So Jungsu really doesn’t like you?” Seungmin carefully asked. A pained laugh escaped from you.
“That’s where you have to talk to Jungsu. It’s not my place to say anything,” you responded.
“I’m sorry,” Seungmin suddenly proclaimed, arms collecting you in a hug.
“Why are you sorry? I’m the one who kept something from you. I’m sorry,” you apologize, arms wrapping around Seungmin.
“For not noticing. I could tell that something was bothering you, but I just thought it was work related, but this is it right? You’ve been stressing over not getting along with Jungsu?” He rubs the back of your head lovingly. You nodded, relaxing into his arms. It’s been so long since you last felt relaxed.
“You really need to talk to Jungsu though. I think that’s the only way this can be solved,” you said, pulling away.
“I will, but that’s for me and Jungsu. You don’t need to worry about it anymore, just relax now,” Seungmin tells you, changing positions so now you’re laying down with his head on your chest. A part of you is scared that Jungsu might actually hate you after Seungmin talks to him, but the bitter taste in your mouth is finally gone and your heart feels lighter. Now you can only hope that things will finally begin to get better.

A Burning Tree
~ok listen! I know I said that the next part would introduce Revenant!Kung Lao, but I got the brainworm to look at how Liu Kang and Shujinko handled Kung Lao's death and add more Dark!Raiden to the mix. Especially since I was heavily inspired to write a bit more about Dark!Raiden thanks to @sogekii-heii and their recent piece with Dark!Raiden (I still think about that, like oml!)~
~So here we go again! I promise this time, Kung Lao's coming back and it's going to be nasty! Also, this title actually has meaning to it, finish reading to get that meaning! Or skip to the end and get it anyways, idc~
~Before we continue just wanted to put some mild context to ensure this makes sense. Fire God Liu Kang starts getting deja vu as certain coincidences and events start playing out that are too eerily similar to how things played out during the MK9 game. All roads were seemingly leading to Kung Lao dying in his timeline, and Liu Kang struggled with how to cope and deal with this. On one hand, he did not want his friend-…His new teacher…To die, especially since he tried so hard to tailor-make this timeline to ensure everyone got a happy ending.
Yet, at the same time, he refused to stoop down to Kronika's level and start altering the timeline until it was his "perfect" utopia. However, his fears and suspicion about the situation become even more realized when Raiden gets gravely injured, and the only thing that prevented him from kneeling over was the thunder amulet infused with his person (and some other magical shit, idk). From this, Raiden gains his iconic white hair, and this gives Liu Kang a heart attack. To make a long story short, Kung Lao ends up dying at the hands of the villains, Raiden is going through the stages of grief, but he's going down the same dark path as the previous Raiden, now becoming Dark Raiden. And Liu Kang has to finally interfere.~
Still confused? Too late, now on to the story!

Characters: Shujinko (MK1 Ver), Fire God Liu Kang, Raiden, Past Liu Kang, Past Raiden - Mentions of Kung Lao, Scorpion, Smoke, and Ashra
Word Count: 5,578
Ships: MK9 Liu Kang/MK9 Raiden (Unrequited Love)
Warnings: Canon Typical Violence (with less blood), Heavy Talks of Character Death
No one has seen Liu Kang-not since he disbanded the Earthrealm Warriors. Barely a week after that disbandment, Liu Kang became a ghost in his own academy. None of the monks can confidently say where they last saw the fire god. One moment, he's confined to his meditation area, then he's at the zen garden, or his private quarters. Other times, no one knows where Liu Kang is at all.
Shujinko still remembers that day, when Liu Kang called all his champions to inform them of the news. Old and new Earthrealm warriors were gathered for the news, and it came as a shock to everyone what Liu Kang announced.
"I may have made a…Selfish choice, when I chose each of you to become defenders of Earthrealm. The timeline I originated from, many of you were there as well. Protecting and fighting for our home against threats within and outside of Earthrealm…And with this new era, I foolishly assumed that I could…Replicate the connections that were made before. I have taken up all of your time with new worries, wounds, and ripped you away from the lives you once had before. So…I'm giving you the option…To walk away. From all of this. To return to your homes, your families, the life before I found you. There will be no shame or dishonor if you choose to retire the mantle. I wish each of you a fulfilling life…And I'm sorry."
Shujinko still remembers the near unified gasp and murmurs that filled the room-the questions that erupted in that moment as everyone tried to make sense of Liu Kang's decision. Liu Kang answered any questions that were brought to him, but Shujinko could tell that Liu Kang was set on his decision. Despite Liu Kang's stance on the discontinuation of Earthrealms defenders, many opted to continue their service to their realm, especially when Kuai Liang, Tomas, and Ashra argued against Liu Kang's decision to weaken Earthrealms defenses. And where Liu Kang would've listened to their concerns carefully and worked with others to meet in the middle, the fire god did none of that, uncharacteristically so. It seemed no amount of concrete arguments was going to sway Liu Kang into reconsidering.
If anything, the zeal the Shirai Ryu leaders and Ashra displayed encouraged others to stay and maintain their positions as Earthrealms protectors. After all they've been through, how could one do so? Discovering mystical powers that they all thought to be mythical, experiencing breathtaking realms beyond their own, and for few, the soul-changing truth and reality of their existence. For others, they might not have a home to return to; a life either filled with too many hurtful memories, broken relationships, or homes gone to the wind to never return again. All of that is nigh impossible to walk away from…But walk away few did.
Their reasons for leaving were their own, and they left with their excuses. But there were those who couldn't return to a normal life due to the aforementioned reasons before. They knew too much, saw too much; for some, a bit too much. Like a soldier returning from a grueling war, reconciling an average living after spending years, months, maybe even weeks under the wing of Liu Kang and his academy would be much to bear on the psyche. Almost ominously, Liu Kang promised to fix that for them.
What was done to these warriors was not publicly told, but Shujinko heard rumors and whispers about Liu Kang wiping away the memories of those who couldn't find it in themselves to leave behind their new life to return to their old one. It's presumed it's a consensual exchange, and Shujinko wants to believe that Liu Kang gave them the choice to lose those memories. But there was something disheartening about knowing that old friends Shujinko knew during his time in the Wu Shi Academy now viewed him as a regular stranger. That there are those who returned home who will never recognize the faces of those whom they considered allies, friends, and maybe even lovers.
Shujinko would know that pain. He experienced it before.
-
Raiden, long before he was exposed to the same memory wipe...When he was...Changed by his former master's death, revealed to him why there were gaps and contradictions in his memories. At that time, Shujinko noticed a change that was present in everyone. People were avoiding him, few wanted to train with him, and others spoke to him in such a careful manner as if they were hiding something from the young pupil. Before, Kung Lao, Raiden, nor Liu Kang would explain why he was treated differently, chalking it up to his new classmates needing time to get to know him.
And for a long time, Shujinko believed that...Until Raiden broke the news to him. It practically came out of nowhere when Raiden revealed this to Shujinko. Shujinko's training was placed in the hands of the thunder wielder, and after Kung Lao's death, he was far rougher and blunt than before, pointing out all his flaws but giving little instruction on how to improve. Even Shujinko's ability to copy other's abilities couldn't prepare him how to fight properly. And, at times, Shujinko thought that Raiden used their time training together as an excuse to use him as a punching bag. None of the other masters at the academy was as ruthless as Raiden was, even the ones who were notorious for being a "tough love" type of mentor. Shujinko slowly began to dread training with Raiden...Feared him even. It was almost like Raiden had some...Sick, twisted desire to break his spirit, along with those he encountered.
It was the day when Shujinko practically BEGGED Raiden to stop his assault on him, clearly yielding, nay, submitting, to the thunder wielder. His glowing white hair and eyes, along with the sparks of lightning bouncing off him, becoming an image Shujinko, even to this day, has a hard time disassociating from his idea of what Raiden is. Raiden gave him a light but firm kick, forcing Shujinko on his back after leaning on his side. Raiden walked a short distance away from him, taking in the mountainous view of the academy. Shujinko took that moment to breathe since Raiden rarely gave him breaks anymore.
"...You've been slightly improving, Shujinko," Raiden kept his eyes trained on the scene before him, his voice tainted with a sinister tone.
Shujinko only moved his eyes to look at his master, remaining silent, for he feared that saying anything would rile the thunder wielder. Especially since the clouds have been a dangerous gray for a long time since they started their brawl.
"But you're barely where you need to be. Not like you used to be, anyways." Raiden gibed, still keeping his view on the mountainous regions ahead.
Shujinko KNOWS he shouldn't speak back, he learned a long time ago with this...New Raiden, what happens when he talks back to him. But something deep inside the young monk wanted to bite back at Raiden. After all this time under Raiden's wing, he's been nothing but demeaning to Shujinko. Everything the pupil did seemingly irritated Raiden to no end. If anything, the reason he's 'barely where he needs to be' is because Raiden beats him to near death and doesn't actually teach him! Not like he used to, at least!
Without thinking, Shujinko opened his mouth, venom escaping his lips as he responded to Raiden, "Maybe I would be getting better if you didn't constantly beat the 'lesson' out of me. You know, like how a true master would teach their student. Even Kung Lao knew that."
There was a threatening pause, a silence Shujinko didn't felt until he heard the frightening sound of thunder in the air. It wasn't until now that Shujinko realized where he first fucked up, especially when he put Kung Lao's name in the conversation. Shujinko quickly sat himself up, hissing in pain slightly as his muscles began to strain, and he was reminded that his left leg was sprained. Raiden still paid him no mind, continuing to keep the stillness between them. Shujinko knew that a possible beatdown was waiting for him, so he tried to sneak away as quickly as possible.
"You know, before General Shao, you were the first person to make an attempt on Kung Lao's life."
Shujinko froze upon hearing that, twisting his head to look at Raiden. He almost wished he hadn't that day because the look of Raiden looking at Shujinko over his shoulder, white eyes staring deep into his soul, was another unforgettable image he could never scrub from his mind. His mind was swimming with questions. What did Raiden mean that he almost killed Kung Lao? Never has he ever intentionally attempted to hurt his former master.
"W-what do you mean, master? I would never hurt Master Kung-"
"It's reasonable that you don't remember, you copycat pest," Raiden chastised, making Shujinko feel goosebumps all over his body when Raiden gave him his full attention. "Liu Kang wiped it all away, the memories of the time you got power hungry and nearly compromised the sanctity of the realms."
This all came as a shock to Shujinko as he stared at Raiden stupidly, not registering that Raiden was slowly approaching him.
"And honestly, I think Liu Kang was too kind to you. I should've seen the threat you would become from a mile away. Especially when I watched you nearly snap Kung Lao's neck with your own bare hands. You should've been put down, like the dog you were and the dog you still are." Raiden continued his encroaching walk toward Shujinko, his hair, and eyes now glowing with power as static encompassed him.
Shujinko starts to uselessly crawl away from Raiden, but too frightened to take his eyes off the thunder wielder. "N-no. No, no, no, I would never-"
"JUST BECAUSE YOU DON'T REMEMBER DOESN'T MEAN IT NEVER HAPPENED, SHUJINKO," Raiden shouts at the confused pupil, an arc of lightening crashing next to the cowering student, dangerously close for comfort.
"R-RAIDEN, PLEASE, LEAVE ME ALONE!" Shujinko shrieks as he tries to regain his footing, ready to book it out of there.
But he wasn't fast enough, especially with his sprained leg that slowed him down further. Raiden zapped him with multiple streams of lightning straight from his fingertips as he tased Shujinko, the pained screams of his student bringing great inner delight to Raiden, to the amulet. "You're a threat to our realm, to all the realms. You could've been a valuable asset, but Liu Kang is too busy playing the peaceful politician to utilize you as a weapon. Too busy teaching you about harmony and peace when there are actually world-ending threats out there that could be stomped out if we didn't hold ourselves back. That's what killed Kung Lao..."
Shujinko groans in agony as he tries to get away, Raiden's constant assault making it difficult to move any part of his body. "RAIDEN, PLEASE!"
"...So, I guess the only way you won't become a potential threat, is if you are never a threat at all." Raiden began to intensify the bolts of lighting, the sounds of Shujinko howling in pain becoming music to his ears.
"RAIDEN!"
Finally, the lightning stopped, and Shujinko collapsed from the constant strain on his body. Raiden snapped his head towards Liu Kang, the one who gained his attention before he could finally kill Shujinko. The fire god rushed to the unconscious student before angrily looking at Raiden.
"You could've killed him, Raiden! What's gotten into you!?!"
Raiden stared at Liu Kang, not answering him but not showing any signs of guilt either. After a brief pause, Raiden turned his back on the pair and walked away.
"Raiden! Don't you walk away from me! Rai-"
Before Liu Kang could stop him, Raiden disappeared in a flash of lightning. Something Liu Kang was all too familiar with; Lord Raiden would do the same thing if he were to exit a scene.
The next thing Shujinko knew, he was in the many medical care rooms of the Wu Shi Academy, receiving treatment for his wounds. Multiple nurses dressed his injuries before Liu Kang approached Shujinko, expressing how Raiden would no longer be responsible for training him and that he would be assigned to a new teacher. While that was a relief to his ears...Something else bothered Shujinko.
"...Is it true that I almost killed Kung Lao...That I almost destroyed the realms..."
Liu Kang was so taken aback by this that he didn't immediately answer him.
"...Is that why my memories are missing, Lord Liu Kang? Because I'm a threat?" Shujinko's voice starts to shake as he can feel an overwhelming dread take over him.
Even though Liu Kang didn't answer him, the silence was telling. Despite this, Liu Kang didn't conceal the truth from him. Yes, Shujinko did nearly become a threat to all the realms...And yes, regrettably, he did nearly kill Kung Lao when they tried to subdue him. And there were others that Shujinko did kill...His best friend, Apep...Was one of the many casualties that Shujinko caused. All of this because Shujinko, at that time, became puffed up with pride and hungry for power. But it wasn't something that came out of nowhere. Liu Kang admitted that Kung Lao's early years of being a master at the Wu Shi Academy taught him many lessons in being humble; something Lao had to learn the hard way when he was teaching Shujinko the first time.
Liu Kang had no choice but to wipe his memories away, bringing him back to when he was first found by Liu Kang and his warriors. And like a house fire, the flames burned away nearly every inkling of his repertoire, leaving very little for Shujinko to remember. But that also meant, there was no way to recover those memories, even if Liu Kang wanted to give those memories back. Much like a valued family heirloom that was destroyed during a fire, there is precious little that can recover the lost item.
While this meant that Shujinko would not be haunted by the constant reminder of his failures...It still pained him to think that he COULD be a threat to be reckoned with. If anything, he almost wished he never learned the truth. Living in ignorance would've been preferable to living in fear of himself.
-
Shujinko blinks, not realizing that he's been standing idle in front of Liu Kang's private quarters for…Who knows how long. He didn't realize he was deep in thought as he was carrying a tray full of food to the fire god.
Oftentimes, it was just best to leave offerings for the fire god at his (once) usual spots and come back an hour later. Usually, the contents were gone upon returning to retrieve them.
Shujinko should leave the tray behind, knock on the door, then go. But something compelled him to linger a bit longer after the initial knock.
"…Lord Liu Kang?" Shujinko meekly calls out. He tries the door, and to his surprise, it was unlocked.
-
"Are you going to l-let me die? Like you did Lao?"
"HE WOULD'VE WANTED TO LIVE WITH ME. SPEND THE REST OF HIS LIFE WITH ME! HIS FUCKING BOYFRIEND!"
"I LOVED HIM, LIU KANG! WITH ALL MY HEART, I LOVED HIM!!! AND YOU TOOK HIM FROM ME! YOU DID THIS TO ME!!"
"Even if you didn't know fully that Kung Lao would die, why didn't you tell us! Why didn't you save him?"
"BRING HIM BACK! BRING HIM BACK TO ME!"
"Why did you let him die"
"Why did you let him die"
"Why did you let him die"
Those words will always haunt Liu Kang. The pain in Raiden's voice, the intensity of his lightning strikes, the hatred he felt for Liu Kang. That's not something one can move on from, no matter how many years pass by. But these words cut deeper than Raiden, or anyone could ever imagine
-
In his youthful, mortal years, Liu Kang made the stupidest decision of his life, and fell in love with a god. Of all the people he could dedicate his life to, a beautiful Outworlder, a fellow best friend, a Special Forces agent, hell, even the Hollywood star would've (not really) been a better contestant than the LITERAL GOD OF THUNDER. An entity that will outlive him by decades, who probably went through multiple lovers-Liu would become another footnote in their unending life. Not only that, but he was pretty much RAISED by this man. He practically went through the entire spectrum of relationships with Raiden, first strangers, then friends, mentor/student, father/son…And now Liu Kang wanted to add lovers to that?
Liu Kang, even then, tried to psyche himself out of falling for Raiden. He had many other suitors, plenty of girls and boys who threw themselves at the Shaolin Monk, and he had plenty of options to choose from. But no matter how he tried, his heart yearned for Raiden. If you asked Liu Kang how he discovered that he grew an affinity for Raiden…There was no straight answer.
Liu Kang can probably point to his formative years as a teen already trying to traverse and reconcile with his growing and changing body. He remembered many times where he lingered at those he found attractive, one of those individuals being Raiden. But back then, Liu Kang assumed that he was just "admiring his physique" and using Raiden as a means of motivation to get stronger.
But the feelings of desire did not fade away as he grew older. If anything, they evolved. Soon, he was having silly daydreams about Raiden. Wondering how it would feel to be held protectively by the thunder god as he lifted them away from danger. What his white mane must feel like, and how Raiden would react if Liu ran his fingers through his hair or braided it. Or perhaps how would Raiden feel if Liu put in the effort to make him a meal, something that Raiden would love. He started noticing little details about Raiden that none did, such as the light glow in Raiden's eyes when he was talking with someone he fancied or the age lines when he smiled. But then these innocent daydreams became…Fuel for more carnal wants. Soon, it developed into memorizing his physique for…Reasons.
Liu Kang began to wonder how it would feel to have Raiden pull at his hair, to whisper in his ear, to pin him down, speak sweet nothings to him, to claim Liu Kang as his, something Raiden could do at any point in time if he wished. A god could take whatever it wanted, and Liu Kang would've gladly let Raiden do whatever he desired with him.
But what outweighed the carnality and the soft trances was the genuine love he felt for Raiden. On the same note of noticing small characteristics of the thunder god, Liu Kang did know of his favorite food (it's nuclear buffalo wings), he knew about Raiden's brother, Fujin, knew about the many adventures that Raiden partook in, both sad and joyful. Liu Kang KNEW Raiden and it made him fall for the god most spectacularly.
But Liu Kang overstepped his boundaries. He and Raiden were sparing together as Liu Kang wanted to demonstrate to Raiden that he was ready for the Mortal Kombat tournament. It was a sweat-inducing endeavor as there was an intense back-and-forth, each of them blocking and countering the others' attacks before finally, Liu Kang gained the upper hand, pinning Raiden below him.
"Do you yield?" Liu Kang says, out of breath.
"Y-yes. I yield," Raiden, just as winded, replied as he shoots Liu Kang with a reassuring smile. "You have improved thanks to Bo' Rai Cho's teachings."
"And I have you to thank for making me a recommendation," Liu readjusts himself on top of Raiden, sitting up on top of Raiden while not applying much weight to the god below him.
There's a moment where Raiden and he are quiet after some idle talk, Liu Kang only noticing that Raiden was staring at him with a growing smile. "…What?"
"You are ready, Liu Kang. You will be the one who will save Earthrealm from Outworld's attempts to merge the realms under their tyranny."
Liu Kang, even though he was praised by Raiden countless times before, cannot help the growing heat from surfacing on his face. He faces away from Raiden before muttering, "You flatter me, Lord Raiden…"
"You'll need a constant reminder that I, along with every defender of Earthrealm, will be cheering for you during the tournament. The kombatants you will encounter will test your might, your vigor, and your mental capacities. I believe you are ready. I know you will become the chosen defender that Earthrealm needs." Raiden softly professed as he leaned up, using his elbows to leverage himself.
Liu Kang looked at Raiden, meeting the thunder god eye-to-eye. Liu Kang saw his whole world in Raiden's white pupils, soaking in every hint of emotion that was displayed in front of him.
"Liu Kang?"
Liu didn't even realize that he was leaning closer to Raiden.
"Is there something you want to tell me?"
Liu Kang didn't even register that Raiden was asking questions.
Before Liu Kang knew it, he pressed his lips together with Raiden's. At last, his hearing decided to work so that he could hear the surprised "mph!" noise from the thunder god. It was perhaps Liu Kang's first kiss, he wasn't as adventurous as Kung Lao, who definitely had a few run-ins with various individuals. It being Liu Kang's first, it wasn't anything remarkable, but it was memorable to Liu Kang…But not for the reasons he would've wanted.
When they finally parted, Liu Kang felt like he could breathe again. The shocked expression plastered on Raiden's face, however, was unexpected. They both remain in total silence, neither making a move nor taking the first step to speak. Raiden would finally be the first to move, which indicated for Liu Kang to finally get off the thunder god. Liu Kang, courteously, helped Raiden back on his feet, his hand, however, did not leave Raiden's.
"…I…I must go," Raiden quickly excused himself, disconnecting his hand from Liu Kang.
Liu Kang watched Raiden leave, and the feeling of awkwardness and humiliation quickly overwhelmed him.
Since that day, the pair seemed to share the same idea of just avoiding each other. But where Liu Kang was avoiding Raiden out of embarrassment, Raiden...Liu Kang couldn't figure him out (that bit of mysteriousness always being an aspect of Raiden he did like). Before, Liu Kang didn't mind it, but when Liu Kang began to rediscover the courage to approach Raiden, the thunder god was always turning the other way or shortening their conversations considerably. He could never get a moment with Raiden as he was always in discussion with someone else, busy with other matters, or needed to consult those dreaded Eldar Gods.
But they would finally have a one-on-one...A literal week before the official Mortal Kombat tournament. Liu Kang and Kung Lao were sitting with their Shaolin Monk brethren and family, the spiritual brothers jesting from across the table and talking about their eventful day. Raiden was missing from the scene, but he would suddenly appear in the mess hall where they were all meeting.
"Liu Kang, do you have a moment?"
Many faces turn to Liu Kang with curiosity. The same kind of energy children would have when one is called to the principal's office. Liu Kang feels a knot in his stomach, and he wipes his face with an available napkin, "Yes, Lord Raiden."
"Ooh~! You're in trouble~" Kung Lao jokes, releasing the tension effortlessly in the room.
Liu Kang smirks at his friend, throwing a dumpling at the razerhat wielder before skipping away from the table. Approaching Raiden and meeting him out in the hallway, he noticed that Raiden continued to walk further into the Shaolin Temple.
"Was there a reason for my audience, Lord Raiden?" Liu Kang finally asked after a couple turns here and there, but Raiden still remained silent. The knot in Liu Kang's stomach grows tighter as he anticipates their stop, which means he'll finally be informed the news.
Liu Kang tried to calm himself when they finally reached a secluded area in the temple, outside near the zen garden. Raiden stops in his tracks near a still-in-bloom cherry blossom tree. Funnily enough, it was the same tree he and Kung Lao would often play near when they were children before sometimes secretly training together under said tree.
"...Is there...Something wrong, Raiden?" Liu Kang drops the professionalism as he tries to make this personal, trying to appease to the human side of Raiden.
"...About that...Day...When we both...When we both sparred together as we tested your skills for the tournament."
OHFUCKOHFUCKOHFUCKOHFUCKOHFUCKOHFUCK!
Liu Kang visibly (and if possible, verbally) swallows as he stares at Raiden's back, the thunder god still not facing Liu Kang and meeting him eye-to-eye.
"...Yes..." This was all Liu Kang could utter as he waited for Raiden to continue.
"I...Um..." Even Raiden was loss for words, as if he just decided RIGHT NOW that he wanted to talk about this. "...I...I recognize that you have developed a fondness for me."
It felt like Liu Kang's heart was going to jump out of his body or crawl out of his mouth. A large part of his being was vibrating with excitement. Is this it? Is this the part where they finally take the next step? Liu Kang couldn't help but step in place, leaning against one foot before placing added pressure on the other. Liu Kang wanted to say it. He wanted to declare his emotions in from of Raiden before the thunder god could finish.
"I love you. I love you so much, Raiden. You have no idea the night I would stay up with you on my mind. The pain I go through because I wanted to be near you, close to you, with you."
All of this and more, Liu Kang wanted to confess, but he is disciplined, he is patient. He will wait for Raiden to finish his thought, if he has more to tell.
"...And I have that same...Care for you too, Liu Kang. There's much history between us, and I can understand that you may have grown a deeper affinity for me."
There's a BUT in there. There's a MASSIVE BUT in there. But Liu Kang didn't hear it. He was too enamored, far too blinded by his own love for Raiden to even recognize the writing on the walls.
"But I must, respectfully, decline your love for me."
Liu Kang's world felt like it shattered around him. Somewhere, deep down, Liu Kang knew this could be a possibility. A high probability, in fact.
But it didn't make it hurt any less. Liu Kang stared at Raiden dumbfound. There must be a reason why. Is he not his type? Is it due to the circumstances with the tournament? Is Raiden already seeing someone else? What was the reason?
"…Goodnight, Liu Kang," and Raiden proceeded to walk away. Or, at least, attempt to.
It took all of Liu Kang's willpower to surge after him and grab his wrist, "Wait! W-why can't we? I mean, you said you felt the same way, so why do you 'decline.'" Liu Kang didn't mean to sound desperate, but he wanted to know. Maybe there might still be a chance he can still win Raiden's love.
"Liu Kang, you're letting your emotions control you. I said what I said; there's nothing more to it-"
Liu Kang forces himself in his line of sight, "Why Raiden. That's all I ask."
"Does the why really matter, Liu Kang?"
"It matters enough to me as your friend…"
"…We're not compatible," Raiden tries to say with finality.
"And why is that?"
"Liu-"
"Is it because I'm mortal? The tournament?"
"Liu Kang!" Raiden's eyes flare with godly power as his voice booms like thunder. This immediately quiets Liu Kang. Raiden takes a moment to breathe, reeling back his anger. "…You have many admirable qualities. You're handsome, patient, caring, determined, and good-willed. These are aspects that anyone would fall for and would be lucky to have you as their significant other. And…Perhaps, in another life, I could return your feelings. But I cannot provide you the happiness you think I can give. The amount of responsibilities and burdens…I'm sorry, but I just wouldn't be able to emotionally and physically give back to you."
Liu Kang was speechless as he gazed at Raiden. It hurts too that Raiden is just too good at keeping a stoic look, so Liu Kang can't even find any cracks in his "it's not you, it's me" speech.
"We both will have our 'plates filled' during and after the tournament. A lot of opportunities will be heading your way. I know a mortal's life is short; one must grab at every chance of life that one can. But believe me when I say, that you will find someone who will love you more than I ever could. And it might end up being someone unexpected." Raiden smiles as he places a hand on Liu Kang's shoulder.
Liu Kang slowly hangs his head low slightly, not exactly looking at Raiden's feet, but not meeting his gaze either. "I'm sorry for lashing out, Lord Raiden."
"Do not apologize, it's natural. Believe it or not, I have had plenty of experience with such bursts of emotions. I will always love you, Liu Kang, and I pray that someone will love you more than I do."
-
When Liu Kang recreated this timeline, his main goal and motivation was always to provide his friends a new life. A better life. A second chance at being happy. And sometimes, that meant changing and altering events so that his friends and companions could achieve that life they'd always wanted.
That's why Raiden's words cut so close to home. The old Raiden, the former thunder god, his mentor, his father…The one that got away. Liu Kang only wanted Raiden to be happy because he saw, from the outside looking in, the stress and pressure Raiden had to maintain on his own. And being a fire god himself, he can finally reconcile with those tough decisions Raiden burdened himself with. There were times Liu Kang just wanted to hold him, to kiss away any tears or fears Raiden had.
But they were never meant to be, but that never meant that Raiden's happiness never came first for Liu Kang. Liu Kang may not be able to provide for Raiden emotionally or physically, but he can give him a life where he doesn't have to worry about a single thing. So he put Raiden in his shoes and gave him everything Liu Kang would've wanted. A loving family, a best friend, a wise mentor…A home…Everything Liu Kang has lost or never had, he gave to Raiden…In some way, it was almost like a thank-you gift to the one god who gave him everything in his mortal life.
"Lord Liu Kang?"
Liu Kang opens his eyes as he's slightly disturbed from his meditation. He can see Shujinko peeking through the door, a tray full of food. I'm sorry to disturb you. I wanted to bring you a meal from the mess hall…"
Liu Kang's glowing eyes stare at the young pupil, and he gestures for him to enter. The young man hurries into Liu Kang's quarters, taking brief seconds to admire the gods' room before setting the tray in from of Liu. Just as Shujinko was about to leave, Liu Kang speaks up, "Please, sit with me. I…I would like the company."
"R-really?" Shujinko looks at Liu Kang in utter surprise. He doesn't know anyone in the academy who has sat down with Liu Kang ever since the fire god decided to isolate himself. He's probably the first in a long time to actually SEE Liu Kang in so long. "Are you sure?"
Liu Kang smiles as he picks up the bowl of rice and chopsticks. "I don't eat much anymore. You can have some of the items presented."
Shujinko was still dumbfounded as he watched Liu consume the rice. Shujinko would finally sit across from Liu and pick up a slice of bread and carefully takes a bite. The pair ate in silence, which was more than enough for Liu Kang. Just being near someone, even if it was someone he wasn't too familiar with, Liu Kang knew that at some point, he needed to break this cycle. If Kung Lao was here, he would've scolded him and drag his sorry-ass outside, and forced him to to rekindle himself with the world at large. Liu Kang actually chuckles to himself as he thinks about this.
"Hmm?" Shujinko looks at Liu Kang startled.
"Nothing, Shujinko…Just thinking…" Liu Kang smiles.
-
~whoo, I wrote "considerably" less this time around :D! So, the reason why I picked the title "Burning Tree" is because I was thinking of Shujinko because trees are often associated with family ties and how they're connected to each other. In this case, its more memories than any familial ties Shujinko has with the characters. With his memories gone, it's like a tree burning (or a better analogy being the house fire I mentioned in the story). A burnt tree is nigh reversible and you are stuck with whatever was left behind, if anything was even left behind. That can go hand in hand with Shujinko's (and even Raiden's) memories when Liu Kang removed them. Liu Kang, being the god of fire, can take away those painful memories, but once the deed is done, is irreversible. Even the most dedicated of therapy sessions won't return those lost memories. But like embers after a flame, small fragments might still remain. See, I'm hella smart :D. Also, if it wasn't obvious already, I'm a big Liu Kang/Raiden lover and I was shocked to see there was barely any fics about the pair on AO3. The horror!~

Lady and the Scoundrel - Chapter 8 - Family
Beginning || Previous || Next
Chloe milled about her room as she cleaned it while she stole glances outside. The leaves began to turn that signaled the beginning of fall. She sighed as she watched other students play about and enjoy each other’s company. Since the visit with Felix a couple weeks ago, she had withdrawn further. Not that anyone would have noticed. She hadn’t made any friends, and she was afraid too.
Chloe craved the acceptance she saw her old classmates get, but never knew how to get. She thought she could try again, but why try if some people never see the change? What if it’s all a lie and she can’t change? Is there any point to her trying at all if that’s the case? She had Barkk, but Barkk was made by design to love. She was sure it wouldn’t matter what she did, Barkk would still love her.
Pain struck Chloe’s heart as she thought of Sabrina. Tears rimmed her eyes at the sweet moments they once shared that she soured. She took advantage of Sabrina’s friendship and loyalty. She pushed and pushed until it was too late. She lost Sabrina and she feared she’d do the same to Barkk.
A knock interrupted Chloe’s thoughts. She gasped, wiped away the tears, and turned to the door as Barkk peeked in.
“Hey, Chloe. There is, uh, someone here that wants to speak with you.”
Chloe raised a brow when Memoria moved around Barkk into the room. Chloe’s eyes widened and darted to the door, but it was shut and Barkk was gone. Chloe forced a smile as she met Memoria’s eyes.
            “Hello, Chloe. How’ve you been?”
“I’m… I’m perfect. How could I not be?”
“Your eyes say otherwise. There is a compounded grief and guilt heavy in them. What troubles you?”
            “It’s… it’s nothing. Just… memories.”
            “Which ones? Marinette? Adrien? Sabrina?”
            “Sabrina.”
            “Would you like to talk?”
“No. And why do you even care? You don’t even know me!”
“I do. I know Barkk would have told you by now. I saw her and Velze in your memories.”
Chloe took a step back. “You did? Why didn’t you say something?”
“It wasn’t important for the Graham de Vanily’s to know. Besides, it’s not my secret to share.”
            “Then… why are you here?”
            “May we sit? It’s… it’s a lot.”
Chloe nodded as she and Memoria took a seat. Memoria took a deep breath and sighed.
“Every word I said before was true. I don’t believe young like you should be abandoned. It was long written by Velze that the elders were to teach their young, that only through knowledge and memory could we learn. If the elders don’t impart that wisdom and leave terrible memories, how are they to expect better of the young?”
Chloe’s eyes widened as she jumped up. “Yes! Exactly! I-!”
“I know. I saw it all, and that’s what upsets me. You don’t know any better. You were left to fill in the blanks. You cried out, but no one saw further than the bullying. Even when they did, they were quick to turn on you when you relapsed. No one gave you the chance as they saw the monster you were becoming. You were dealt a bad hand in your past, but you can still draw a new hand.”
“How? I… what’s the point? If people can’t see the change I’m trying to accomplish, then why bother? What if I can’t really change? I thought I was doing good as Queen Bee, but when Ladybug picked Ryuko to save my parents with over me, I just… I messed up. I fell into Hawkmoth’s hands and ruined everything.”
Memoria gently took Chloe’s hand and drew her into a hug. “It’s ok. It wasn’t your fault, dear Chloe. That is the horror of manipulators. They know how to strike you, make you vulnerable, and play you for a fool. The worst of it is you are the one left to pay the price. No one ever blames the manipulator, but always the victim.”
Tears sprung from Chloe’s eyes as she clung to Memoria. “It’s not fair! I could have been a hero! I could have been great! But Ladybug and Hawkmoth ruined everything! Then that half-of-a-sister showed up and I… I couldn’t do anything. Nothing I did was good. I just… I lost everything.”
Memoria smiled sadly as she cradled Chloe. She rocked back and forth as she hummed a lullaby. Chloe sobbed until she calmed down. Chloe sniffled as she relaxed in Memoria’s arms.
“How do you feel, dearie?” Memoria asked.
            “A little better,” Chloe admitted.
“Crying will always help. Never forget, you can’t always be strong. You must allow yourself a moment to slow down and reflect. Crying will help with that.”
            “Thank you.”
“Always. Actually, that’s part of why I’m here.”
Chloe furrowed her brows as she shifted to look at Memoria.
“See, I am the kwami of memory. Everything that ever was I am to remember. That includes the memories of mortals. You mortals have always fascinated me. The lives you lead, they’re never the same. Everything you all experience is so… mundane and magical at the same time. But most of all, you grow. You’re allowed to be more than your past. To invent and design who you are. It’s all so… fantastical.”
“It doesn’t feel that way,” Chloe grumbled.
“That can change. I may not be the best for this. You may need something more, but if you’ll permit me, I’d like to be your guardian, parent, or whatever you call it.”
            “What? Why?”
“Because that’s something I’ve always wanted to experience. I see the joy, frustration, sorrow, and pride of raising another lifeform. I see it in mortals, but most of all, I saw it in Velze. As I was, I could never experience that myself. Even as I stepped into the memories, it wasn’t enough. I wanted to experience it for myself. I thought I had that chance with Felix, but he doesn’t regard me as anything. Then I saw what happened to you. I hated it, but not as much as the joyful selfishness I felt that I could be an elder.”
“I don’t know. I don’t exactly want to be a Graham de Vanily, or Fathom, or whatever. No offense to Amelie. She’s sweet and loving, but Felix… you know.”
“I do, and Amelie is respecting your wishes, but I couldn’t just sit back and do nothing. If you would allow me, I would like to be your guardian. I hope in time you’ll see me as more, like a parent, but for now, I’ll be your elder. After all, you’re still so young. You have your whole life ahead of you and you’ll only learn to be better with guidance.”
            “I mean, I have Barkk.”
“I know. And Barkk is amazing. She’s done so much to help you and will continue to. However, there is a limit to what she can guide you on, and I want to be the one that helps you where Barkk cannot. To help you grow into the fine mortal you can become.”
“Do you… do you really think it’s possible? You don’t think I’m a lost cause?”
“No one is a lost cause, Chloe. Mortals just… lose themselves in that thinking. They hear it all their lives and nothing else. What are they supposed to think otherwise? It must be true at that point, and nothing else matters, but that isn’t the case. You were never beyond hope, Chloe. Not for a second. Who you were is not who you are now. Never forget that.”
Chloe’s breath caught. “Are you… are you sure?”
“I know it. I saw it all. You have changed, and you’re doing amazing.”
Chloe smiled as fresh tears fell. She giggled as she squeezed Memoria. Memoria smiled and returned the hug. She sighed, wiped away her tears, and sat up.
“I… suppose it might not be the worst idea to have you as my guardian.”
Memoria beamed as she squeaked like a dolphin. Chloe’s eyes widened as Memoria cupped her face and planted kisses on her cheeks, forehead, and top of her head. Warmth bloomed in Chloe’s chest as more tears fell. The affection was small, but full of love, and the type of affection she had craved from Audrey once.
“Now, here’s my number. Text or call whenever you need me or just want to talk. I’m always available, never fear. I also have talked with Amelie, and her house is open to you for whenever you’re allowed out, like on weekends and on holidays. If you aren’t comfortable, I’ll be sure to visit here instead. I believe that should be everything, right?”
            “I think so?”
“Wonderful! Now, you have dinner soon, yes?”
            “I do.”
“Then I’ll leave you to it with Barkk. I’ll be sure to see you this weekend, dearie. Oh, and one more thing.”
            “What’s that?”
“Keep up the good work as Chloe and Queen Spaniel.”
“What? But I’m not doing anything as Queen Spaniel. I’m supposed to be hunting that supervillain, instead I’m occasionally helping random people with their small issues.”
“Maybe, but never forget this: it’s the small things that matter most in life. You’ll find it’s those things that will always bring a smile to your face without fail or tear you down.”
“Well, I suppose it makes me happy, kinda, sorta, maybe to help people. But should I make a habit of it?”
“Does it put a smile on your face?”
Chloe considered. “I’d say so. Yes.”
“Then keep doing what makes you happy. As long as you smile, it is worth doing. Just as you should keep being with people that make you just as happy.”
Chloe smiled and hugged Memoria. “I will. I promise.”
“I’m glad. Keep up the amazing work, and I’ll see you soon, dearie.”
Memoria planted a kiss atop Chloe’s head, then vanished. Chloe grinned long after Memoria left and Barkk returned.
“So, how’d it go?” Barkk asked.
            “It was incredible. Thank you.”
            “What’d I do?”
“You encouraged me to test socializing with Felix. If not for that, I wouldn’t have you and Memoria.”
Barkk’s eyes widened before her face softened. “I guess she’s right, eh? It’s always the small things.”
“It really is. Then let’s keep doing what we’re doing, yeah?”
“Yeah! Oh, but after dinner. C’mon, we can’t be late.”

Overwhelmed (Part 15 Vinny x Garmadon)
(Go check out part 1-14 if you haven't really gives an insight also go check out my other book if you're interested in Mk x Red Son from lego monkie kid also Zane can still eat human food it's like the beginning of the series he still ate and i just kept it the same but it isnt needed)
Vinny grabbed his shirt and put it on, "Well looks like I need to wear my jacket" Vinny said staring at the hickeys that wear peeking from his shoulders, "Sorry.." Garmadon said out with a hint of guilt in his voice earning a soft kiss on his forehead and a quick affirmation from his lover. "Wanna go see if anyone's awake?' Vinny asked receiving a nod from Garmadon. The two got up before Garmadon gave Christofern a splash of water and the going out.
"Who do you think is up?" Vinny asked staring at his lover with a curious look plastered onto his face. "Mhm...probably my brother and the ice ninja" Garmadon replied, "Yea I agree, but I also think that Lloyd may be up" the smaller added, "I don't think he'll be up yet" The larger replied earning a smug smirk from Vinny, "Well if I get it right I get to kiss you" Vinny said smugly, Garmadon blushed before staring at him, "Well I certainly wouldn't mind that" the oni replied confidently before grabbing Vinnys' wrists and pinned him against the wall . Vinny turned bright red, "Well I'd like to add one more thing to this deal between us" The larger whispered into his ear. "R-really what's t-that..?" Vinny stuttered out embarrassingly, "Winner gets to do what ever they want with the loser for a day~" Garmadon whispered out seductively . "O-ok!" the smaller responded quickly hoping that he would be the one winning this bet.
"Now let's go before someone comes and sees us" Garmadon said before letting go of Vinny and starting to walk. Once Vinny recovered from the embarrassment of being pinned to the wall he quickly caught up with Garmadon. They both walked and eventually saw Wu drinking tea and Zane making breakfast probably for everyone. "Morning brother" Wu said before Garmadon done the same. The larger stared at Vinny with a smirk on his face. He lost the bet and he could only hope this went well. "I am making breakfast would you like it now or do you want to wait for the others" Zane asked as he flipped pancakes, "We can both wait just wanted to be out early" Vinny replied politely before sitting down with Garmadon.
"Did you both sleep well?" Wu asked earning a nod from Vinny but not Garmadon, "What about you brother?" Wu asked again, "Hmm? Yea I slept well" the oni responded. The four began talking about random things and eventually each ninja came one by one except Nya and Jay cause they share a bed so they come down at the same time. Lloyd was the last one to come to the kitchen and don't worry the kitchen is pretty big so they all fit. "Morning Lloyd!" Kai said out energetically, followed by the rest saying morning, "You're up later the usual sleep late?" Nya asked, Lloyd let out a soft chuckle, "I guess you could say something like that" the green ninja said before smiling at his father. "C'mon bud come take a seat" Kai said patting the chair next to him before drinking some coffee. Lloyd sat down next to kai who was sitting next to Cole. "Did ya at least sleep well?" Cole asked, "Haha yea honestly that was the best sleep i've had for a while" Lloyd replied he wasn't joking he just felt a lot better knowing that his father was happy.
Zane handed out plates of pancakes to everyone, "Oooo pancakes my favourite!" Jay said out excitedly earning a soft chuckle from Nya before starting to eat. The group began eating and talking about their plans for their day while cracking up jokes. Eventually one of the jokes made Garmadon laugh out loudly and honestly everyone stared at him surprisingly and their was this awkward silence. "Well, well, well I bet you guys didn't know the former oni warlord was capable of laughing like that!" Vinny joked sarcastically breaking the silence, relieving Garmadon of the stress and making everyone laugh, "Vinny you really did wonders to help him" Kai laughed, Kai didn't really like Garmadon but he didn't hate him he understood the feeling of being corrupted just the tournament of elements he was corrupted by the staff and almost ended up hurting Lloyd so he couldn't blame Garmadon he at least put effort on changing and honestly seemed like a pretty cool guy.
"Honestly Garmadon I would've never thought of all of us being at the same table ever since we found out Lloyd was the green ninja like forever ago" Cole chuckled with his mouth half full, "Don't talk with your mouth full you idiot" Kai said gently bonking his head, "Yea but honestly Cole has a point and I'm honestly happy we don't have to fight you again" Jay said out nervously. "Jay you sound like the most nervous wreck right now try to sound a little more confident" Nya chuckled out, "Nya is right your blood pressure increased meaning you are nervous" Zane added, "H-Hey! don't out me like that!" Jay said out embarrassingly before hiding his face. Wu and Lloyd let out a sigh at everyones' stupidity, "What they're trying to say is that we're really happy with the progress you have made since well you were brought back" Wu said. "Couldn't have said it better myself" Lloyd said.
To be honest Garmadon was a bit overwhelmed with the compliments and Vinny could tell, "Okay okay everyone, enough with the compliments Garm here seems a bit overwhelmed, he's never had so many compliments before" Vinny laughed and so did everyone the group continued eating and laughing.
They all finished and everyone had an hour before they started doing stuff so Vinny and Garmadon talked where it was all alone, "Don't think I forgot about our little deal~" Garmadon said out in a seductive voice before pushing Vinny up against the wall and kissing him, "You'll get the rest of the deal later~~" Garmadon added before kissing Vinny again and then they began making out.
